Used in combination with the Trend saw guide **sold seperately**, this is a good piece of kit. I needed accurate cuts in sheet boards, and not owning a track saw, I looked for options. I was aware of this product as I have a few varijig accessories for my router. Its much cheaper than a dedicated track saw package; its much cheaper than a tracksaw guide alone. However, it is not as sturdy as a tracksaw guide. Its quite narrow and has a joint to get the full length of 2.54m. This joint could be longer to negate some of the movement. I was able to clamp an offcut of board against the guide to prevent any movement in the guide so really negated the issue. When used at half length this is obviously not an issue, as it is a single piece at that length. The included clamps which slot in the bottom of the guide and clamp it to the workpiece are really useable. I am very happy with my purchase.
Bought the level for using with my circular saw to cut down numerous 8×4 sheets of plywood to board out a shed. The guide was very useful and ensured all the cuts were accurate.
The quality is good, albeit only used for a specific job, so I can’t comment on long term robustness.
My only constructive criticism is that the plates (which slide into the two sections of the guide to join them together) could be longer, as that would ensure the centre join was unlikely to kink when using. That being said, I made sure I placed my long spirit level against the opposite side of the guide when cutting and I had accurate cuts throughout. Looking at the cost of the more expensive guides, I am very happy with the purchase.
Arrived on time and exactly as described. Easy to assemble, can be used full length of just one piece for half the length. Can be used as a straight edge for marking out as well as a cutting guide. Would recommend.
Great item best way to get a straight edge brought to help cut doors to size. Had to buy extra clamps as the ones that come with it were to small . Thought they were over priced think they should of come with the pack .
All said made easy work of getting a nice straight edge.

As a carpenter I was after a really accurate straight guide for cutting edges off doors and similar jobs. This does it but because it’s a two part thing that clamps at either end there is flex in the centre at the joint, even if it’s done up tightly. It is good but I think it could be better with a longer centre connection. The short cross cut version is absolutely fantastic; easy, quick, accurate and worth the investment.
hese are a must for anyone ripping down 8×4 sheet timber or similar. light weight, really well made and sturdy. wish i had these years ago. i am an avid Festool fan, however i can’t fault these Trend products for the money.
hey clamp well either side, and using it for 4ft lengths is great. however, once you attatch both pieces, you have a bend in the middle if there’s any pressure from the circular saw or router. if routing, not really a problem, as you can clamp down, but you need a clamp that doesnt interfere with the circular saw if you want to clamp it while sawing.
Easy to setup and use. Used to for ripping down large boards with a circular saw. Very straight and as clamps are underneath they don’t foul on the saw. Wish I had brought this a few years ago
Ideal straight edge for use with router, circular saw, planet etc. Disappointed that extra clamps had to be purchased as those supplied were not particularly deep throated. Supplied clamps no use for thickness of a standard doo
Very straight and very rigid. Sturdy even with the 2 pieces clamped together. With this Guide and a fine cut Makita blade the cuts produced are as good as the factory finished edges.
I was sceptical that this would be any better than a DIY track saw guide made with a sheet of MDF and a piece of pine batten on the top, but since having difficulties with the DIY track deflecting by ~5mm in the centre I thought I’d give this a go and I’ve been really impressed – less than 1mm deflection in the middle and stows away easily. I’ve used this as a guide for circular saw and router and it works well with both.
Much much better than similar cheaper products, the attachment system is very well thought out, the ability to join two sections to make a straight edge long enough for virtually any cutting/routing job is an asset.

My favourite boys toy. Actually it’s my wife’s favourite girls toy. Makes cutting any cuts easier with a circular saw.

Sturdier than I thought it would be, well made. A bit pricey for a few bits of steel but it does the job better than expected.
Very handy for ripping down large sheets of MDF. Takes about 2 mins to set up then you are good to go.
