It looks like a Dys*n but is much better.
Really potent carpet seems to be lifted by it.
The rotor on the head has a sensor and stops if it feels high resistance.
    2 batteries are really convenient.

not overly top heavy as some reviews suggested, instructions could be more, not every one can access these online
    overall good

Our first cordless Vax was starting to lose suction power, but we had been pleased with the brand so we chose this one from their range. The suction is powerful enough to ‘lift’ lino up but it easily transitions from hardwood flooring to shag pile rug. I also like the alternative ‘one button’ settings, which boost suction or activate the head brush. We live in a bungalow so can’t evaluate its performance on stairs, but I would say you won’t go far wrong buying this cleaner.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this particular one for a neighbour but I’ve had the identical model for over a year. It is just as good as the Dyson I had previously at about a quarter of the price. Highly recommended.

Bought this as a gift for my Daughter, lightweight cordless battery vacuum cleaner, deceptively powerful for it size, makes light work of pet hair which pet owners will know is a nightmare to keep ontop of. This is the 2nd Vax 4 power blade I have purchased and comes with the Dual option 2 x lithium One PWR batteries, giving upto 90 minutes run time. It’s design places the main weight of the vacuum & battery at the head of tool, which makes it is easier control, leaving the lighter sweeper end easier to push around & under your furniture, tables or sofas. We have found this so much easier than humping a heavy bag vacuum cleaner around, especially when the doing the stairs & landing. It’s small size is also a benefit when considering the space it takes up when its isn’t in use? Super Vacuum all round.

This is a great machine! It has all the best features of a cordless vacuum and has made them better! Before this Vax I used a Dyson rechargeable, but always found the latter blocked easy and when emptying it was quite fiddly.
The dust/dirt container on the Vax is larger than the Dyson and is much easier to empty because it detaches completely from the motor. It can be emptied from either end though I find it better to take the filter out as it’s quicker. There are 3 battery indicator lights which lets you know when a charge is needed. Suction does not decrease as the battery loses power. Detach the battery and it recharges in an hour though the initial charge takes longer than this.
The dust seeking light is great in darker places, it’s as effective on carpets as it is on smooth wooden and tiled floors. It fits comfortably in your hand, manoeuvrability is good and is a pleasure to use.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI’ve owned the predecessor to this for around 7-years and was very pleased by its performance, however it had a built in battery that couldn’t be replaced except by a qualified (and expensive) engineer and when the battery started to fail I looked for a replacement. After much deliberation I returned to the (British based) Vax brand and bought this upgraded version of what I already had, and am extremely pleased that I did. The Vax is very powerful – it actually lifts my rugs off the floor in its highest setting. It’s comes with an array of additional tools – the mini powered head is very useful for cleaning the stairs and tighter spots that the main head can’t get into. There is no loss of suction as it fills up and its really easy to empty too. If you have pets and/or children I recommend that you buy the version with two batteries as the single battery doesn’t quite have enough ooomph to do a 3-bedroom semi on maximum boost, but probably will do if you use a lower power setting. You could pay two or three times the price buying a (Singapore based) Dyson but why waste your money.

Have used the Vax for years, it’s quite weighty at the handle end because of the battery, so might suit people with weak wrists. For the price it’s a really good machine

We bought this after seeing the TV adds. Works well on carpets and hard floors alike. Like the simplicity of ‘click in’ attachments. ie cobweb brush/crevice tools, and ease of emptying. Good value. One minor niggle? No small brush head to do stair carpet (dissapointing) but otherwise, good.

  11. AguedaWilks says:

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGenerally it’s pretty good, but needs the boost enabled to really pick up stubborn dust and particles, especially in the car. However for ease of use and the ability so clean cobwebs in high corners, it’s very good. I’ve been using an old brush attachment from another hoover, which is better for scrubbing the carpet on the stairs – the brush included has very soft bristles and is a bit useless.

Very good stick vacuum but a little heavier than I was expecting for a small stick mainly due to the weight of the battery.

The extra battery really goes a long way.
The vacuum itself is very powerful, of course you need to keep on top emptying it, cleaning hair off the roller, etc.
It’s very light & easy to carry & manoeuvre.

Vax should develop Anti-wrap technology for future iterations.
Also, a stand that allows you to hang all the accessories would make sense.

Good machine one lower setting if you need to use higher setting use it very little it’s very easy to use and powerful does a beautiful clean, I have used the battery dyson and it’s a very good machine the battery staying power is better but dyson doesn’t have the suction .

Use on hardwood, tile, and carpet. Got the Pet one plus car cleaning tools. Would suggest reading the instructions first as there are different settings. Easy to remove and add different tools. Fabulous on stairs, furniture and car; lightweight and easy to use. Easy to empty. comes with a holder you can attach to the wall to hang it out of the way. Would definitely recommend 2 batteries.

Operates as described and generally a pretty good hoover. I would not be as generous as most other reviews as the battery time is nowhere near what the manufacturer claims so I’m glad I bought two batteries. Would otherwise be frustrating and inconvenient even if you have a medium sized house.
Emptying is a bit of a faff and you normally need to hover up again around the bin that you emptied into.
I’d go easy on wooden floors as it can leave the occasional light surface scratch which I have had to treat with worktop oil. That all said, it’s a major plus going cordless and the performance is overall good.

This is the most powerful hoover I’ve owned in 40 years. The battery does one whizz round the bungalow modt times but really you ned the second battery. Its top heavy and you have to empty it most days or the suction drops. Excellent light and boost function. I do keep catching the on/off button which is annoying but I wouldn’t be without this hoover now. Vac just tweak it !

I have owned and used a Vax corded upright vacuum for a year or two and decided to go for the convenience of cordless. I have long been impressed with the build quality and value for money of Vax cleaners and this Blade 4 is no exception. The build quality is excellent, it feels solid and robust without being heavy and cumbersome. All the attachments fit well and they’re quick and easy to change. The battery life is more than sufficient to do my small bungalow, only using about half the capacity of the battery in one pass. The functional limit comes in the form of the small dust container. The machine appears to much more efficient than even the corded Vax that it very quickly fills up and needs to be emptied. This is no great problem as the container easily clicks off and back on. Everything seems to have been well thought out and executed. If there’s a serious problem, I haven’t found it yet! I really wish I’d bought one of these cleaners ages ago, it makes vacuuming almost a pleasure!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis was purchased for my Mum who’s now getting on a bit and a little frail.

The vacuum easily suits her needs in a one story flat as it’s reasonably light (if a bit top heavy) with sufficient suction power to pick up the hairs her 3 cats leave on the carpet.

If easily moves from lino to carpet without losing suction and the turbo brush makes easy work of those areas that get a little more grubby.

With the added safety and peace of mind that Mum’s not going to get caught and trip over trailing cables this is ideal for a frail person whose sight and agility aren’t what they once were.

Would I recommend this product? Absolutely

I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE MANUFACTURER OF ANY PRODUCT I REVIEW AND ALL MY REVIEWS ARE UNBIASED AND TRUE

The vac is versatile and powerful. The two batteries are very convenient and charge quite quickly. Kit came with large and small rotating brushes and a small nozzle so cleaning pet hair from the family car is easy.

Whilst the vac is quite light for a battery powered cleaner it is a little top heavy and needs to be in your hand or in the wall mounted holder when using the long tube (i.e. normal floor vac mode). If you prop it up against a wall for instance it can easily fall over. Having said that we love it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love the power of the machine when its fully charged and empty on plus power and spinning. It will remove the dust under your carpet too. Not so good on thin carpet tiles, you have to turn it down but itw easy done. I had the pet one 4Ah, was 279 with the 2nd battery and the small attachement for stairs. The only let down is the angle at which you have to use the small attachment. You have to hold it almost at 180. For an older person they may struggle but you can use all the bigger attachments on the smaller set up. Im always telling my friends to get one of these. I have a pet Gtech and this vax blows it out the water. I was impressed by the Gtech when i had it, nothing on the vax! Make sure to check its the powerone batteries as they sell this moddle with the older batteries for 180 odd. Well woth the other 100.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSo I’ve only had this for a few days but so far I absolutely love it. Before this I had a bagless corded dyson.

This one is cord free and it is soooo much easier when going around the house. It’s also neat for storage.

It was very easy to click together. Easy to change the attachments and click the cannister of dirt on and off. Easy to figure out the batteries. I love things like this where I don’t have to read a manual to figure it out.

It has a normal and a sort of ‘turbo’ mode. Normal mode is fine for just a quick hoover round. Turbo mode is excellent for hair on the carpets.

It comes with a few attachments and I’ve tried the regular big head, smaller head and tube. The tube is great for going along skirting and getting into the corners.

The big and smaller head, they’re really good at getting everything off the carpet including hair which seems to get really worked into our carpets. They have circular brushes in and there are three girls with long hair in this house so long hair does get wrapped around those brushes. It’s not tricky to clear off though, a pair of scissors and a minute or two, now and then. For me, I’m just glad it sucks it up! The dyson didn’t, and left the carpet looking dirty for it.

I have a three bed house and one battery gets me around the house with a combo of regular and ‘turbo’ depending on the room I’m doing. But this comes with two, so if you just stick them on charge, you have more than enough battery power to get around.

I’ve used it for a few days and only just emptied the cannister. I guess it depends how much you have to hoover up but this seemed reasonable.

So altogether great so far and so sooooo much better than the clunky dyson, both for suction, light/mobility, storage, attachments, everything.

Took a chance on getting this model over the more expensive brand leaders as it came recommended by Which and other review sites and not disappointed the pluses are it’s suction power ease of movement simplicity of switching between regular power, power boost, and motorized head all via the handily placed thumb switch and with the package I brought a very handy second battery pack and tools all easy to attach when necessary the battery is charged off the motor but that is no issue the same as charging a phone and means you don’t have to store the whole thing near a power supply. The only minus is the actual weight of the vacuum in use if you have an issue with your strength or ability to grip it could be an issue for you but if you are the kind of person who has a quick hoover round it shouldn’t be a chore if you can get it on an offer for the price it is a good purchase

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersFirstly, this cleaner has really strong suction power, especially on boost mode.
I previously had the Vax Blade 3, which I loved. However eventually it just wore out, hence buying the Onepwr 4.
Thankfully, I bought the version which comes with 2 batteries. This was a good decision. In spite of the marketing material, the battery does not last for a full clean. And I should add that I live in a 2 bedroom flat and I don’t use bost on the hard floors, only the carpets.
The other slight negative is the filter and dust-bin. These are not very easy to empty and again, the info material suggests not necessarily emptying the bin each clean and only washing the filter every month I think. I’m quite particular, but I think you have to empty and fully clean out the bin every time you do a full clean. I also feel its good to wash the filter every other session.
However, the brush bar now releases easily with a large screwdriver (or a coin!), whereas the old one had 3 screws to undo. A good upgrade. Also the brush bar is much easier to clean (yes I also do that every session!) Hair comes off much easier.
Tools wise, the nozzle is a little better as its longer, so works better in the car. The other tools are OK.
Weight wise, its quite heavy on the wrist, but better than the old model and the switches are in a better position.
The main thing you need from a vacuum is the cleaning power. This definitely has it. But I feel it will only maintain that capability if you keep on top of the filter, bin and brush bar!
Members of my family have Dyson and Shark. In my view, the Vax is better, both on power and value.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy partner said I was too indecisive and spent too much time choosing a vacuum cleaner, but when I looked at the first trail result I knew it’s worth it!!!
I moved to a new flat and a friend lend their carpet cleaner and vacuum for me to use on the first day. It was nice to have the carpets cleaned and for the time being I needed to find and buy a new one. After returned three vacuums I become desperate because neither the suction / power was not good, too bulky, too heavy or couldn’t picked up stuff! I read someone says they don’t have a pet but still choose this one as it cleans better – so I thought this should work.
As you can see from the picture, it feels like the place has never been hovered before!! It’s not only lightweighted but super easy to handle! Omggg what an amazing result and I just love how deep clean it can clean up the house now! I felt it took me too long to finally found this and if you’re also a germ-phobia I just can’t recommend it enough!

    Too late!

Does what it says. Suction was much better than I’d imagined, even in its normal mode. The only thing is it’s a pretty hefty unit up top, so if you don’t have much arm/upper body strength you may struggle to vacuum for more than 10-20 mins.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWe had a Dyson V10 which was obviously substantially more expensive than this and was OK but like most manufacturers their claims for battery life was a JOKE so when the battery died, we were torn between buying a battery or an alternative cleaner and when this was only 207 with two batteries I decided to take the gamble.

Being totally honest the build quality is not to Dyson standards BUT neither is the price as the Dyson was almost two and a half times the price with one battery, the most important thing is, does it work and will it last ?

Even though I believe the build quality isn’t the best I do believe its fit for purpose and will give a good service life as for performance it FAR FAR outweighs the Dyson, the battery last twice as long and you can change it when required rather than wait for it to recharge. The suction is brilliant and more powerful than the V10 ever was. Its an absolutely brilliant machine and I am 100% I will be buying Vax in future as we have a Vax carpet washer as well and its shared by the whole family and its done a mountain of work trouble free.

I have read some 1* reviews saying the suction is poor which I don’t understand, the balance/weight I can understand as after using the Dyson it doesn’t feel as balanced but after a week or so we preferred it as the increased performance is just what we need and now we wouldn’t go back and have given our Dyson away.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReally loving this … we’ve got carpet and some wooden floors, plus some tiled areas. This works perfectly, and so far the two battery packs work fine, you just have to remember to charge them after use. Easy to clean out and easy to separate the top half for stairs. There is a very effective light on the front which means that you can see into dark spaces under furniture etc., plus it folds quite flat for cleaning under beds. Fairly quiet. We are replacing a very tedious Miele that is also a bag free model, but heavy and awkward to use in small spaces, and although it still works is no comparison to the Vax design. Considered the Shark but opted for the Vax which so far is brilliant.

Golden Review Award: 49 From Our UsersOkay, this was a replacement for a product I had used for a week and a few days earlier. I had ordered a Honiture 26Kpa 147 which was a good product, I did leave a good review but sadly the battery died so I choose to add some extra and get a better product.

Why VAX ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Dual Battery? I have no pets but have historically found that pet editions of cleaning equipment a just designed better and have better features. I read reviews and watched on YouTube etc, the Blade 4 was good but the pet edition has TWO batteries for a little more cash, this is well worth the investment.

So, I give the battery a charge and have a try (remember that I had been using the other vacuum twice a day every day) Well, it was like I hadn’t vacuumed for months! The Vax (when on full power) digs deep and really does an excellent job. I received this product yesterday and have used it a LOT! It is still pulling dust from my carpet and its amazing to see, the first few vacuums shows all the bits and bobs, dirt and general dust, then you find that the colour is changing as this is getting all the fine dust that has been in the carpet for months, years?

The Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Dual Battery is well worth the money if you want a real deep clean.

Its easy to disassemble, clean and pop back together, nice and easy.

Cons? Well, the battery life is very limited if you use the brush and high power. But, you have two batteries, so not awful, its okay. The roller stops in minutes so it must be really frustrating if you have only the one battery!

Its quite heavy but easy to use, I would highly recommend this product but be careful, you will just become addicted to seeing the change on your vacuum contents!

    Stay safe my friends

We’ve got a small house, I’ve used the VAX a few times for whipping around the place after the kids, great for picking up pretty much everything. Suction is mad on vinyl flooring, so I have to use without the turbo button (+ button) on.

I initially purchased the VAX for using in our bar, small, lightweight and very user friendly. However I would highly recommend getting the additional battery, one battery doesn’t last long at all, especially with the roller spinning and the turbo button on all the time. However, the charger only charges one battery at a time, so if they both go flat, you will only be able to charge the one. A bit annoying if you have a bigger house or premises to clean.

I’ve given it four stars as I think battery time could be better, but overall, a great vacuum for the price (1 third of the price of a dyson v11).

Love this product, however everything can be improved upon. My wife finds it a little on the noisy side with motor engaged on a wooden floor. I would like to see the dirt collection chamber to be more firmly engaged and easier to clean. On the excellent boost mode it drains the very battery quickly. I would prefer to see “in holder” charging. Apart from those few improvements it is a truly exceptional cleaner.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI did a bit of research on the cordless hoovers
I have a corded vax pet Hoover and very pleased with it I keep that upstairs
I had a corded Dyson downstairs which after 12 years blew up
I looked at the shark cordless as it has a cold mb feature to stop the hair getting wrapped around but on reading reviews people said it didn’t work
I went for the vax and I am so pleased with this Hoover it’s fabulous ! Wish I’d purchased one years ago!
The boost button is brilliant – I just wish the batteries would last a little longer
Hoovering the stairs is now quick and easy and a pleasure to do!
    Don’t wait buy one now!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to replace our Dyson that had died, I was worried it wouldn’t match up to the Dyson but in fact we find it’s better. The suction power is excellent and it does have a booster button, although we don’t tend to use that much as we have laminate flooring everywhere, but it comes in handy on the rugs. I also like the fact it comes with 2 batteries, so you can always have one charged up to use when the other one runs down. It manages to hoover the whole house on one battery but if you have carpet and need to use the booster button more frequently you may need to put the spare battery in, depends on if you have pets. It is a bit heavier than our Dyson was, but not drastically so.

This product is used in a 3 bed semi for hoovering hard floors, carpeted floors and stairs. The two batteries are a must as my wife can hoover for England. The Pet hair motorised thingie is useless. Overall a good cleaner with a lot of suction and a bit cheaper than a Dyson or Shark.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersVery handy for quick clean ups but it’s not going to be able to replace the main vacuum (a ‘Henry’) for bigger cleaning jobs.
On tiled floors it tends to either push larger things around or flicks them out the back if the brushes are running. Perhaps I still don’t have the right technique or maybe I’m using the wrong setting. It got quickly blocked up when cleaning fallen pine needles from the tree – no such issue with the Henry though…..

    On carpets it’s fantastic.
At full power the battery drains pretty quick – maybe 10-15 mins, so better to have a second battery available. Change over is quick and easy and the recharge time seems really good.

Even acknowledging the above limitations I would still recommend as it’s far easier to clean up a small area quickly than having to get a wall powered vacuum out. With this it’s done in a couple of minutes.
If you keep on top of the little spills etc then this vacuum is ideal and well priced compared to some of the competition.

The vax is so light I can carry it upstairs in one hand. The suction is amazing. With 2 large hairy dogs, it’s great to be able to just go over the carpet once. It’s much better than my heavy machine. Would definitely recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThe Blade 4 is very convenient for small areas like hard floors or small rooms. There are 2 problems. 1. The dust container is very small therefore you need to empty it often. 2. The motor is quite heavy and if using the rotary tool to do the stairs it is not as convenient as I expected.
However, still a useful addition to (but not a replacement for) a mains vacuum cleaner.

Better suction and performance than my blade 3 and on hard floors its great- but the head turns itself off if the carpet is anything other than low pile so you have to reset frequently. Light is a great addition to see bits on wooden floors however instructions tell you to turn off brush bar when not on carpets which turns off light !!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe’ve been using this vacuum for over a month now, and have gotten used to it, used it enough times to feel comfortable writing a detailed review of the experience of our use and highlighting the design drawbacks we’ve encountered (along with the obvious and numerous pros)

Fantastically good at getting up dust and fine material; however it’s more compact design and narrower motorised brush head means it will struggle to draw in more robust, harder, heavier particles such as small plastic pieces. This is not down to its suction power (which is phenomenal and rivals high-end plug-in equivalents) but simply down to the fact it doesn’t have the internals nor the design to really deal with it. One might say it just doesn’t have the mustard. Tougher particles tend to just sputter around the motorised head in either hopes of being broken down due to trauma then finally pulled into the main dust chamber, or face inevitably being evicted back out like some hellish revolving door ride. The addition of “headlights” on the motorised brush head is an excellent design choice, and has helped find many a-stray particles in shadowed corners and lower lit environments. Attachments are good and snap on easily enough but a slight chore if you’re using more than 2 different heads in one session. Which I suppose fits the Bill as the on board caddy can only carry one extra utensil at a time anyway. Choose wisely.

Excellent at getting around nigh on every main corner nook and cranny you’ll encounter in your home, so good we’ve dubbed this vacuum ‘The Ninja’ – it can reach nigh everywhere and feels like no dirty spot is now safe. Unfortunately, neither is the actual vacuum itself as one giant glaring flaw is there’s no way to balance or rest the device upright without precariously leaning it against something (which isn’t recommended as the unit is not only very expensive but also very top heavy thanks to its li-ion pack) or lying it against the floor. It has a cradle which requires affixing to the wall for when it’s not in use, but otherwise it’s best to lay it on the floor during momentary breaks in between it’s usage.

Emptying the dust bin is really, really simple – and due to its small fill capacity it needs to be as multiple empties will be required (around 2-3 for us) whilst during a full clean. Dust bin unclips off satisfyingly – although re-attaching it has a slight learning curve due to its design choice and basically remembering which side and port match up and which almost identical-looking side doesn’t (then remembering to check it’s secure or else the damn thing tumbles out if not entirely pressed in). Furthermore the transparent plastic drum is quite possibly one of the flimsiest material pieces on the unit and doesn’t seem like it would take too much external force to crack. However once all this is understood it’s a doddle and easy to handle with care.

Single hand operation, easy to get to the controls with your thumb, there’s a strip layout of 3 LED lit buttons (Power, Motorised Head + Light, Boost) and 4 LED bars that indicate battery life. Weight isn’t bad and has a premium feel and fairly comfortable to use. For a vacuum it’s insanely fun to use, has a Luigi’s Mansion/ GhostBusters vibe to it when in use and has generally turned vacuuming from a chore to just fun.

The boost feature is handy but it’s an EPIC drain on the battery life – a full charge will wipe down to zero within ten/fifteen minutes if the boost is on continuously; so use sparingly and wisely if needed at all.

Battery life is extreme good if used without Boost. We have a relatively large ground floor flat and can get through the entire area with plenty of charge to spare and that can be anywhere in the range of 15-20 minutes for a quick clean, 30 plus for a deep. This is with the LED and motorised head on.

In contrast to our plugin chunkier, older Dyson a full clean could take within the region of an 1hr30 due to its tank design by contrast and its 10 meters of cable that becomes an obstacle during the process.

A lot of the time we save is due to its unrivalled portability and manoeuvrability compared to its predecessor.

The batteries are solid pieces and very well built, encased in a hard shell with their own life indicator and protections. Another satisfying moment is when you snap in a fresh battery into the vacuum, literally top load slides in like a pistol’s magazine with a gratifying click at the end. They recharge within the margin of around 3 hours from min to max. Whilst a second battery isn’t necessarily essential when you first buy the unit, it probably will be later down the line. They can bought independently for around 80.

The accessories are simple and fun to use also, especially if you disconnect the main pipe and just use it as a mini-hoover (with either the main brush head or the pet tool).

Durability holding up quite well, although there’s scuffs already on the brush head and we’ve not been too rough with it.

Finally it’s easy to disassemble the necessary parts for cleaning maintenance, has the ability to remove the brush head motor bar, and running a pair of scissors through the spiral cut groove along it will bisect any tangled hairs then you can just pull them out – very easy.

We’ve been very happy with this vacuum, it’s made hoovering a quick and efficient chore – however, if you still have an older, larger plugin vacuum we’d say don’t ditch it if you’re looking to upgrade, save it back for the heavy lifting. This vacuum acts like a quick, efficient search and destroy unit, and generally can deal with most things it finds in its path, but when it comes across something it can’t where dustpan and brush might be too time consuming or impractical, bring out the big gun to finish the job.

Definitely worth a buy if you have a busy lifestyle and household, as we do with two kids and a pair of Guinea Pigs, but be wary of its drawback of not being a complete and total powerhouse but nonetheless a highly efficient every-day household appliance which we would recommend for other families reaching similar thresholds in size and bedlam.

Really good at getting the dog hair off the carpet. Easy to manoeuvre and much lighter than my upright hoover. Not easy to clean as the filter does not come out, so therefore a bit harder to clean. More noise than I was expecting but would definitely recommend this product.

We have had several of these stick style cordless vacuums over the years, from different manufacturers. The VAX Bade 4 is a decent example, which Is generally well put together with decent amount of suction.
As with all these style vacuums, the collection bin is pretty small, and as this is the ‘pet edition, you will find this needs to be emptied quite regularly. If it is not, I have found the vacuum has a tendency to fill and get blocked in the ‘wand’ section, which is a pain to clear.
The dirt bin is easy enough to remove, but emptying often requires the need to poke around to loosen the collected debris – some kind of slide ejection would be brilliant.
Having two batteries ensures enough power to easily clean a small to medium size property, with no interruptions waiting for the battery to recharge – just remember to keep them in rotation so you always have a fully charged one.
Overall the Blade 4 seems comparable to other popular brands, but I feel others may just have an edge on power an features.

    I actually like vacuuming now!!!
It sounds stupid but without the hassle of getting the vac out, unwinding the cable and plugging it in, this has made it so much more enjoyable!
Very easy to charge the batteries,
Great that you get 2 batteries,
Easy to put the battery on,
Easy to put the different attachments on,
    Easy to manoeuvre around quickly,
Picks up mine and my 2 daughters very long hair!
    Looks great when hung up!
When using the ‘extra power’ button, it does use the battery up quickly but I don’t need to use it very often,

My only annoyance is where the buttons are placed, I turn it off by accident quite a lot :-/ but apart from that, I love it!

This is by far the best cordless vacuum cleaner I have ever used. The suction power on this is amazing and it is greta at getting dust and debris from deep within a deep carpet or rug. This is also amazing on hard floors – both vinyl and wood flooring – not scratching the finish while still picking up all dirt on the floor.

The battery life is decent, made only better by the inclusion of a second battery pack and they charge very quickly – as this is the one pwer vacuum, the batteries are interchangeable with all appliances within this range – a very clever and useful idea if you own a number of items in this range.

This is easy to control and can easily get under sofas and in tight areas, as well as picking up stuff from under kick boards and skirting.

This is comparable to the power of my corded shark vacuum which I swear by and I think the price for this unit is more than fair.

    Pros :

    – very easy ro manoeuvre
    – light weight
    – good battery life
    – easy to clean
    – easy to store
    – great suction power
    – lots of good quality attatchments

    Cons
    – on full power suction mode, battery life is halved
    – a bit noisy

Thats it. Comapred to the leading brand, this trumps it hands down.

The Vax Blade 4 vacuum is one of the newer cordless vacuums that combine both a cordless upright with a cordless handheld, aiming to give the best of both worlds. In the past, they have tended to be a bit of a compromise between the two and had appalling battery life. The Vax gets around many of those issues though.

In the box you get the main motor unit, into which you have the dust cylinder/bin (which oddly fits sideways on compared to the usual upright layout), a long extension tube (for use when using as an upright), a full-sized motorised and pivoting head with integral LED light, a smaller ‘pet head’ for using in handheld mode and ideal for vacuuming pet hairs off furniture or hard to vacuum areas, a small brush head, a long nozzle for hard to reach areas, two batteries with a single battery charger and some mounts for mounting the attachments onto the tube and the whole unit onto the wall.
Fitting the parts together is very simple as they all tend to just click together with little difficulty, although the actual instructions provided are not that helpful – there is just a simple quick start guide and no proper instruction manual. Changing the configuration from upright to handheld and back is also easy thanks to the quick-release buttons.

In use, you have multiple options with two power modes and the option to turn on the powered heads or leave them switched off. For carpets, you really do need the brush head to be powered for the best performance and when enabled, even on the lowest power, you get good dust pickup. Turn on the turbo mode for power and it pulls up dust that no other vacuum has found. The downside to turbo mode with powered head though is the battery life is poor and you will be lucky to get 10 minutes out of a battery, so it is lucky the vacuum comes with two batteries. My normal use of lower power with a powered head when needed allows me to get around 20 minutes from a battery charge, which is more than enough to vacuum my 4 room flat.

Once the bin is full, emptying is easy as you just release it from the main unit and hold the bin upright over a bin and release the bottom catch. The rubbish falls out easily. There is also a filter at the top of the bin and this can be pulled apart to clean the filter when necessary. In my use over the past week, I filled the bin quickly the first time I used it and had to empty it twice (just goes to show how much more dust this picks up compared to my old vacuum) but once the rooms had been cleaned once, it is now large enough to vacuum the flat in a single fill.

As a pet vacuum, I am impressed with how well the roller head copes with pet (dog) and other long hair without blocking or clogging up. Often roller bars just wrap hair around them but this one is doing an amazing job of staying free.

You get two types of mount. The first is a small mount that clips over the extension tube and holds one of the adapters (brush or tube). It is a bit odd that only one of the adapters can be mounted and the other has to find a home on its own somewhere – making it easier to lose.
The second mount is for mounting the whole unit on a wall. It comes with some screws and plugs so it is ready to mount wherever you want. You do need to use the mount too as the whole vacuum is top-heavy and will not stand up on its own.

The battery charger only charges a single battery at a time but it will cut out when the battery is full. It would have been nice if the charger had two slots in it to charge both batteries at once.

I have noticed a couple of issues in my time with the vacuum.
The first is battery life. It is advertised as having 90 minutes with the two batteries, but use anything but lowest power with nothing switched on and the duration drops. I reckon about half of that is a reasonable average for my normal use.
The second is fitting the bin. It goes in but it is possible to not push it in well enough and you get a surprise when vacuuming as the bin falls out and bounces down the room.

    Summary

I have used many different vacuum cleaners over the years, including many of the ‘big’ brands and currently, I have a cordless upright and a cordless handheld from another well-advertised brand. This one knocks both away with both the suction power and its versatility as it can be used both as an upright and as a handheld. It has now replaced both of my existing vacuums as it is so versatile. The only thing I am looking at getting for it is some extra adapters as Vax list some longer ones on their website which make the vacuum better for cleaning cars.

Absolutely amazing and i adore this hoover, I have had a few cordless Hoover’s in my time and this is far the best one I’ve ever had, it has different suction levels that can be so strong you can make suction lines in any carpet or moharks as i affectionately call them and picks up loads of dust and dirt and even picks up everything on my lino what was always a burden before this hoover. Its got a rotating brush and all the different heads you could want and it even has a light when you turn the brush mode on this can be seen in my video i made. Only negatives is its a little bulky in shape but still light and well made also would be good if the batteries could both fit in the hoover at once, other than that its perfect.

Amazing the sports car of Hoover's

I’ve been using for a few days already and I’m very happy that it is easy to ensamble It and use quick, cordless and with a great battery.
My house is huge and I’ve got carpet on the floor so it accumulates a lot of hair from me, my partner, 2 cats and a cockatiel. Now in 20 min I’ve got a clean floor when previously I used to spend 40 min to vacuum the floor with my other vacuum cleaner.
This vacuum cleaner include a few accessories as you can see on the photos and fits everywhere.
With a full charged battery I can vacuum twice the whole house.
Two different levels for suction more than enough to clear the floor. Battery indicators on the top of the main body and a mode to rotate the roller brush and clean it.
There are 3 things I don’t like, the first one is the price than could be a bit lower, second one is that everything is plastic (as everything in the market) and third one is that long hair stays around the roller brush and you need to remove it manually every now and then.

Other than that I recommend this product 100%

    It works really well

I absolutely love this vacuum! It came carefully packaged and arrived without any damage. First impression out of the box is that, it was easy to put together. Even my 7 yr old can do it.

I vacuum daily and this makes its so easy! And the suction power is great too. I can easily get under furniture and beds, especially where it’s tile or hardwood. The vacuum goes flush against the floor so THAT is pretty wicked. We living in four bed room apartment and battery life is good that it lasts to vacuum whole apartment without stopping to recharge the battery.

LED lights are perfectly positioned to light up dust on the floor and Can be used as a handheld dustbuster for couches, the car, etc. Only slight cons is that the capacity is low (the dust bin has to be emptied often) but is perfect for a small house or apartment.

We have two dogs and I couldn’t believe how many dog hairs this vac was collecting. I love this vacuum and I no longer dread having to plan how I’m going to vacuum according to a cord!!
