Perfect, very effective, so much better than plastic or beads that blow about in the wind. Allows dog easy access in and out of the house. Looks very pleasing and very easy to fit. Good value

Excellent! Looks great and does the job nicely. Only issue is, as others have said, the varied size of the links. Because they are not all exactly the same length, the curtain looks a bit ragged at the bottom once you start trimming it to size. A more accurate manufacturing process would prevent that. Hence only four stars but still an excellent product.

Having searched for some time for a fly screen that actually works, I am really pleased with this . It’s robust & doesn’t move around in the wind and it looks good too.

I bought this as we have 5 dogs and they have broken every other fly screen. I love the strength but not too heaviness of it. It was easy to fit and it actually works. I will be buying another one for my other door for sure.

We ordered another screen now for our side door having fitted two a month ago to our patio French windows. The difference this makes to our orangery is fantastic. We used to have numerous flies and in particular lovely bumble bees that we had to coach out into the open, a difficult job. Now we have no flies whatsoever and can keep the doors open for long periods of time. Our 2 very large dogs and our small Jack Russel negotiate the screens with ease and are not bothered by them at all. The only one thing is that some of the individual chains were not hanging correctly when first fitted but a gentle rotation of the offending links sorted the problem.

Brilliant, we had a terrible amount of fly’s coming into our conservatory, so took a gamble on these screens. I purchased two, as the doorway i was fitting them in was bigger than the standard sold. A little cutting here and there did the trick. Put them up opened the doors and bingo not 1 fly… I was so thrilled i purchased another one.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn the past I wasted money on fly screens that tangle in your hair and break easily, this screen although expensive will last, is well made and keeps the fly pests out brilliantly.
It looks smart, doesn’t blow about too much in the breeze, and can be removed easily for storage and replaced simply. I love it!

It actually works and looks smart!

This is just what we needed, to keep pesky flies out of our kitchen, an added bonus it gives shade to our hall glazed door as well, fast delivery and easy to adjust and put in place. I always thought this type of fly screen would be far too expensive, so really never looked at them . I wish I had as it solves the problem and looks very smart as well. Really great product .

This is the 2nd one I have. I have put one at each door and it does the trick and I now have wonderful air blowing through from one end of the hose to the other. As I have plastic doors I did not want to drill holes so I ordered extra strong sticking hooks used eight for one door and it works. The dogs aren’t bothered by them. Very pleased with the product. They were long but easy enough to take off at the end.

Have waited for some good weather to see whether this item works. We ordered two of these fly screens to cover two doors. The item certainly seems to work well. Having used it over a period of a few days no flies, wasps, or anything flying has got past the fly screen. So far am really pleased with this purchase.

We live near to fields and have suffered years of unwanted fly-occupation in our conservatory . We have just purchased the Vermatik Fly Screen and wow! Instant protection. Not one fly/wasp/bee has got through – and this has been through a period of hot weather when previously the problem was at its worst. This product is not the cheapest but as well as being highly effective it looks good and will last for years. Highly recommended! Delivered very promptly by supplier too.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI have wanted one of these since last year but just wasn’t convinced it would be up to the job, and I feared wasting my money, as it’s not cheap.

However, I since looked again, read all the reviews and bit the bullet. I am so glad I did. It arrived super fast and my dad fitted it today. It took him 10 minutes. He had to cut off 19cm, as our door measures 80cm, but the length was perfect – bang on. It was fitted to a UPVC frame – I was unsure if it would work (some UPVC being hollow) but it did, and we had no problems. Drilled 2 pilot holes and screwed in – sorted!

Every summer as soon as the door is open, within literally 5 seconds the flies come in…drives me mad. Well this has been up all day and the door open and not one single fly has been seen or heard, amazing. I am thrilled to bits. This is worth every penny to keep those nasty flies and other bugs out. It is so nice to be able to have the door open all day without that problem. We have 3 cats – one was going in and out straight away, totally not phased. The other two (siblings and of the same strange nature) have had to be coaxed out, they are still getting used to it and not liking it. But in time I am sure they will be fine.

This is a quality made item and it looks very stylish, it adds a really smart touch to the kitchen. I like how you can still see through it, a bonus, as I like to see the garden.

Buy it, you won’t be disappointed!

UPDATE – 1 month on (door open all day until around 10pm at night) and not a single fly – this door chain is amazing! In the current heat-wave we are experiencing this has been a saviour!!

    Brilliant purchase!

The screens are meant to be attached to a wood frame or masonry wall. We have a UPC conservatory. Fortunately could get a screw (not the one suplied) into an aluminium reinforcing hollow bar in the door frame. The other side had to epoxy the plug into place and also drilled two small holes into the bracket for extra screws.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI already had one curtain similar to this and they are very good at keeping the flies out, which is why I went for two of these to cover my patio door.
The curtain itself is good, a little bit lightweight perhaps but probably good enough. Looked much better after I adjusted the length, which was easy to do.

BUTI’d like to play cards with the numpty that designed the brackets, with holes that are much bigger than the screws supplied to hold them in place! For goodness sake! Easily sorted as I had a couple of washers in the tool box, but how about supplying washers for those that don’t have any and save them a trip to the hardware store? Or, better still, drill smaller holes so the screws fit.

Other than that, very good and I would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have looked at these for a few years and ended up buying the cheap plastic ones.
Took the plunge this year for my holiday cottages but was worried they ching on the glass doors !!!
They don’t, they keep all flying insects out, don’t move in a breeze and don’t seem to make the inside too dark.
They are fitted on the door frame in a slight recess 2″ and everyone who’s stayed say they are great.
A wee bit fiddly to fit as you have to trim the bottom chains off according to your door height.

Bought this as a replacement for a previous insect screen from a different company as I was looking for something more robust, preferably in metal & this looked ideal. It is! Easy to hang and removing the links to get the correct level simple. I have no DIY skills but you don’t need them to install this. Looks good and is very effective at keeping the flies away.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJust what I wanted. Good size and can be cut to correct width easily as aluminium, which I did and also good length which I removed 4 links easily on each drop for the correct length with a pair of small pointed nosed pliers, a flat blade screwdriver will also suffice. Doesn’t blow about in the wind and so far, no flies have got in as my door is always open in good weather. Good buy. Recommended. I will mention that the large wallplugs and large screws were not needed in my case as I fastened the hanging hooks to the wooden door frame with one and a half inch x 8 screws which were adequate.

This is an easy to fit high quality fly screen. It’s similar to the ones you see on butchers doors but a little more lightweight ( although still substantial).

It comes with the hanging brackets, which I would recommend using.

Been on for a week and not had a single fly. The shimmering seems to put them off.. I’ve tried a few other cheaper types of fly curtains but this is the best that I’ve had.

Excellent product, I was sick of flys coming into the house via the orangerie and was sceptical about how effective this product might be. Easy to hang, item only big enough for one door so purchased two and cut to size, not a difficult job but we’ll worth the money, pleased to say this product is working well, now able to open our double doors and enjoy letting the heat out and the fresh air in, minus the flys, seriously no flys! would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersSo!! Last year we went through about 4 of the fly door nets. We’ve 2 staffs and a GSD, they are more like bull’s-they rip the net.

We wanted something more durable, but that’d keep out the pesky midges! Joys of beach/countryside side!

Now I’ll be honest, i himmed and hawwwd over the chains firstly due to the price (its wincy!) And secondly re install in a PVC frame.

Anyway, I got it, thinking it’ll prob go back.

Install…Right if you’ve a blockframe, wood or concrete frame your sorted. PVC, not so much. The supplied nails and plugs when we pre drilled didn’t do anything. Our PVC frame is hollow….not a hope of it staying up. So we came up with a half inch piece of wood, glued with a builders adhesive to the frame (yep its never coming off!) Then predrilled and its own brackets used but new screws got that were to size. We painted the wood, you’d not notice it really. Pic attached.

    Does it work – yes!
Can the dogs get in and out – yes
    Does it tangle – no
Is it better than the nets – yes if you’ve bulls of dogs!

Apart from the install, an excellent product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent screen, tricky to install!

Prompt delivery of the Fly Screen, box split open in two areas but no damage to contents. This standard size screen was larger than required but cutting hanging rail to size and removing chain links was very simple. It was extremely easy to fit to our doorway into kitchen.
This has only been in use for a couple of days, so I cannot comment on durability and effectiveness at keeping flies out at present.
In my opinion the quality and finish of this fly screen is as described and of good quality.

This is a very good product, well made and will last a very long time. I’ve used plastic strips, wooden strips and mesh in the past and none were much use. This is quite heavy, so doesn’t blow in the wind much and it doesn’t get tangled up. It’s big enough to hang on the inside of my conservatory door (which opens outwards) and stop any bugs entering. I was worried it might be a bit ‘catchy’ on clothing or my long haired dog might get snagged on it but it’s fine. In comparison to other products this is quite expensive, but it’s definitely worth it. Looks good too!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMoved to the country and had a real problem with insects in the conservatory – flies, horse flies, mozzies, flying ants you name it, hundreds. Ugh! Tried other solutions like UV light traps but they didn’t work or I didn’t like them because they looked awful and also trapped the butterflies which I didn’t want. My daughter suggested we try what butchers use on the basis that if anyone is going to know how to keep flies out a butcher will. So I searched and bought two of these to go across the conservatory door – inside as the doors open outwards. Hubby cut them down (they’re aluminium so easy to cut with a hacksaw) and they but together and fit perfectly. And it works like magic. Nothing, not one mozzie, not one of anything has come in since they’ve been up. I was sceptical because the chain loops are large and I couldn’t believe it would work but I think the shimmer confuses the insects and that’s what keeps them out. I also think it’s attractive personally, certainly much nicer than any other hanging screen I’ve seen. Yes they really do work.

We are really impressed with this door curtain, we bought it to keep out the flys, we read the reviews and thought we would give it a try as we have used magnetic and wooden beaded curtains with little success, we put it up immediately and since we put it up there have been no flys, and although it’s not cheap, I would and have already recommended this to family and friends.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got think chain link fly screen so I could leave the door open for my dog, and stop the fly’s coming into the house.
It’s works very well, I have had it up in place now for about 3 weeks during this hot spell we have just had.
I am pleased to say that I have only seen 2 or 3 fly’s in the house, so I would say the fly screen works.
I know the advertisement say’s aluminium, but I would love to have one made of a heavier material. Only because
the aluminium is very light and sometimes get a little tangled with each other. this can happen if the wind is blowing the screen, or even if people are passing through the screen.
It doesn’t take much to release the chains, and the screen is 100% fly proof again.
It is well worth the money to keep out the fly’s.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a high quality fly screen. It is well made, easy to fit and seems to reduce the number of flies entering the house over a screen with more flimsy strands that can blow open in the wind and get wrapped around you as you walk through. I would not pay the full price and 75 is on the limit but it is still recommended.

    Pros
    Well made. Will last forever.
Easy to fit and remove; just drill two holes.
More effective because of the heavier chain strands that do not blow open in a breeze and their weight tends to cause them to slip back into place quickly when you are walking through the screen. All of this reduce the chances of flies passing through.
No Tangles. I find it easy to get tangled up in flimsy screens, especially when passing through with cups or plates. The chains tend to brush aside and slip off me much more effectively.
More light. The chains being links and reflective metal seem to let more light in and definitely increases visibility through the screen.
    Looks good.

    Cons
Quite bulky so not as easy to store.
The screen is a good length but if you can’t fit it an inch or two above you door it may be too short. Could do with being a bit longer to be more flexible.
Expensive, but the best fly screen I have used. Would think twice about paying more.
May be a bit more intimidating to sensitive dogs. Our fairly bold retriever will pass through it, but he has to think about it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersVery pleased with this item. Relatively easy to cut to fit the exact door size and to install. Only up for a short while but appears to do a good job at keeping out flys. This is an elegant fly curtain and my open kitchen door actually looks better with the curtain than without it. Also, I can still see the plants and greenery in my garden through the curtain. I was able to make a curtain tie-back with a part of the chain that was cut off during fitting and added a hook fairly high up to the side of the door. This enables the curtain to be held back when I do not need the door to be constantly open. The curtain still looks good when tied back and so much nicer ( whether hanging loose or tied back ) than the cheaper versions available. Certainly worth the extra money.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHas definitely reduced the flies coming into the house. We fitted one over the outside of the side door and 2 across the French doors in the conservatory. The dogs go in and out with no problem, which is a bonus.

I have 2 gripes. First the brackets were useless for us so we hung the screens on large cheesehead screws.

Second is the links aren’t all exactly the same size and don’t all hang the same, which means when you take off the bottom pieces to make them fit your doorway, the bottom edge isn’t a straight line. Very irritating.

We live in an agricultural area and therefore flies are a huge problem. The screen is good, I’d dread to think what would come in the door without it, but flies do still join us as we brush it aside to go in and out. Not really a problem of manufacture or design though!

The only small downside is the length, as I had to mount it on the brick work outside it had to be mounted a brick up from the door frame which means it falls short of the threshold which means It may miss “low flying insects”, if such things are about. It is also very easy for the dogs to go in and out with the need to keep opening it like some other cheaper screens.
I would not hesitate to recommend these screens

We have always used a beaded door blind before but chose this as an alternative replacement.
It’s good weight, keeps it hanging straight, doesn’t tangle and isn’t quite as noisy against a door frame in a breeze. Just the job!

Having tried both the plastic, the beaded and the magnetic door blinds, this is THE best. No more insects and the dags and cat can go in and out without getting tangled up. Very good quality and very fast delivery. Thoroughly recommended.

Very happy with the product. The dogs have no problem with it , in fact the 2 yearold thinks it is a great addition until I had closed the real door and she didn;t notice that! But full marks so far easy to fix, looks great, dogs happy to use it and no flies, what is there not to like!

Good product all round. Easy to hang and easy to adjust to required length. Children and pets come and go with ease too. After a variety of different forms of screening, this does seem to be the best so far.

Only been fitted for a week so yet to see how effective it is. Seems like a good quality product and it was easy to fit. dog was a bit frightened of it for a day or two but she flys through it now.

Not only does this do the job of keeping flies and insets out of our conservatory, it looks good too. It was slightly too wide for the doorway so we took an inch off with a junior hacksaw, easy. I used the leftover strands to fix one more link to each strand although I’m not sure it really needed it. I would definitely recommend this as a way of keeping flies out.

Well recommended, have a bad fly problem due to having cows in the field behind our house, and the problem is almost solved in the kitchen where they come in the back door which I leave open most of the day when weather is good, tried the mesh door shield but dogs pulled it down, so this is ideal.

Arrived on time. Unfortunately package had plastic window and window and cardboard next to it split. This led to three chains being damaged. Fortunately they had not slipped out of pack so I was able to repair in 10 mins.
Good brackets which fit neatly and securely on wall and once fitted this curtain is excellent. I have had two different types previously. and this by far the best : looks good, doesn’t rattle and keeps bugs and wasps out. Ok, it’s exspensive but it is the Rolls Royce of fly curtains.
Get the packaging right and you would deserve 5*s !

I opted for the cheap version first but it came without half of the stuff in the box and then I saw this a lot more expensive but we’ll worth the extra money if came quickly easy to cut to size and very easy to fit looks good and never had a fly in since I would definitely recommend this scree

Great, keeps bugs out, looks alright. A bit annoying to have to move around to close the door each time, but still a good product.

This product is very good ,looks attractive and really works, in the three weeks it has been at the door only 1 fly so far has managed to get in !
I would have given it 5 stars but for the rather cheap fixing brackets that do not have a stop or lock on them to stop it moving along if the chains are pulled side wards .
Also it is a tad expensive ( nothing to do with the product rating though )

Works very well, mesh is more effective but doesn’t stay in place and is too flimsy in windy conditions This is heavy duty and looks like it will last a long time so should be good value

Just what I need for my static caravan door. Very good quality and looks good too. Husband found it easy to fit and shorten. I searched all over before finding this quality item. Most of the others researched were of poor quality.

I haven’t yet put up my screen but bought it as a result of seeing my cousin’s screen. It really does keep the flies out and as she runs a catering establishment, it’s important not to have flies and wasps annoying people in her cafe.

Although I had problems with installation of the blind, this was due to lay out of door frame after installation of U.P.V.C door/window. contact with seller was very positive and helpful and with extra brackets /screws supplied plus me adding some contact adhesive to back of the brackets as they sit on the U.P.V.C frame and I was concerned that self tapping screws alone might not be sufficient to hold it all. However its up and its secure and I am relieved and very pleased with the purchase and help I got from the seller. Excellent.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis isn’t as heavy duty as the ones you see over shop doorways etc. and there are some determined flies getting through by sitting on the chains and then flying indoors. Also, the top bar which holds the chains tends to slide along the mounting brackets if you are a bit heavy handed going through it. However, it is 1000 times better than the plastic/wood/string fly curtains I have tried in the past.

Brilliant. Easy assembly. Does what it says on the box. No more flies – only if they sneak in when the dogs charge in and out – but other than that very good and good value for money. Fast delivery. Highly recommend.

After buying loads of rubbish ‘fly repellent ‘ door blinds I decided to spend the money having seen the product reviews. Wow what a difference ! Not one pesky fly/bug has dared to come in the house. Our one dog was apprehensive to come and go through at first but soon got use to it, our other ‘wiser and older’ dog didn’t mind at all. The weight and chain mail effect had my husband shaking his head at first ‘ what has she bought now’ but even he is impressed! For me? just wish it was ‘prettier’

Easy to install, been up for several weeks now and don’t seem to have any files in the house…. And we used to get alot living next to a farm

Can quickly remove if needed without the use of tools, length is easy to adjust just takes a while

I found it easy to install and then reduced the length of the links to match the height of the door frame. The whole process took an hour or so. The question and answer section from other buyers was a great help. I plan to leave the blind up all summer and then take it down and store it till next year.

I was after a good quality fly screen as we have a barn door in our kitchen and last year were plagued by flies as our garden backs onto heathland. We tried fly papers and spray which were not nice! This year we said we would buy a proper fly screen and came across this one. After reading the reviews we decided to buy it and have no regrets. We now have no insects at all in the kitchen……thank goodness. I would thoroughly recommend this.

For several years we have tried a broad selection of cheap curtain blinds to keep insects out. Some worked partially and some just didn’t work at all. We had seen the Vermatic curtain blind but discounted it due to the price. What fools we were we realised after finally biting the bullet and ordering one. It is absolutely fantastic and it took me all of ten minutes to put up! It is heavy so you need someone to assist you position it. Not one pesky fly has got through so far and it’s appearance is very good. It’s a true example of “you get what you pay for”. It arrived ver quickly, was well packaged and is exactly how it was advertised. Highly recommended!

It is very good fits our wide back door and doesn’t get tangled up like plastic ones do. It was easy to fit and has been effective on the few warm days that we have had the door open. We have a patio door and wish we could get one to cover that too.

although it is early days as far as flying insects are concerned, so far so good. Much better than last year’s plastic screen as the fronds don’t stick together when wet or blow about in the wind. Being reflective and shiny metal it keeps the kitchen much lighter than the coloured plastic one.

Golden Review Award: 39 From Our UsersBought 2 of these screens for our patio doors having been plagued by flies in previous years. It seems to have worked OK. We also had enough over to make a screen for a window. The steel mounting brackets were a bit on the large side to fit on the uPVC door frome so cut them down and drilled a new hole and screwed them to the frame with self tapping screws. For the small window screen, I made a long bracket with 2 offset strips of 1/8″ hardboard stuck together with Evostik. This was then stuck to the window frame with Evostik.
The screens are easily modified for length by removing links and the width by hacksawing the aluminium support.

    A Good flyscree

Excellent product. Easy to fit. Managed to do it myself!!
A heavy quality fly screen which really works. You can see the blighters fly up to the curtain, and then turn round and fly away! I had to shorten the screen by removing the links, but that is quite easy to do. Also made it narrower by removing some of the chain lengths. I made a hold back by using a short length of chain, putting a small curtain ring in the door frame, and then using the chain around the curtain to hold it back when not in use. This is a really good idea to keep it out of the way. My dog got used to going in and out through the curtain quite quickly. Overall I am very pleased with this product. It is excellent quality and does the job. Can now leave the door open without the kitchen being invaded by pesky flies!

well we have one at front and back. they have made it so much more enjoyable this summer. definitely a great buy. the larger width one fits over the complete front door aperture. weight of aluminium seems good for domestic use, heavier gauge can be a bit strong and choking, from experience. so great, wife delighted, she doesn’t have to close door and i like no flies!

I bought 2 to use in the garden, to go at right-angles to hide ugly junction of 2 walls. Each blind is wider than anticipated, so could have used one. Heavier than expected. Rail straight forward to cut. Looks good and will form excellent background to spot-lit drift wood feature, (Highlight of garden). Previous purchase not as I wanted. Unusual use I know, but I’m very pleased I made this purchase!

expensive compared with pvc/magnetic curtains but I’m delighted with this fly curtain – they’ve been noticeable by their absence since it went up. Easy to put up, I wanted a chain one rather than more solid so that dogs would easily find their way through it – tghey did, immediately. Recommend it.

Excellent customer service experience – the item was dispatched very quickly and was adequately packaged for its needs. This seller comes highly recommended!!

The fly screen is easily the best of the three we have tried previously. I have just one suggestion and that is that it would be useful to add an extra foot to the length. I don’t think our doorway is very much higher than normal but there is a substantial gap at the bottom and, of course the flies tend to find it! All in all though we are very satisfied.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product is extremely effective in the prevention of insects invading your house . Many of them don’t even try to enter so it does exactly what it’s supposed to do . Of course walking through it with a basket full of washing is a bit of a handicap but you soon get used to that .Pets don’t mind it though our cat soon got the hang of it without too much trauma. I would certainly recommend this product for use between April to September for an insect-free zone. The only downside is that the wind can bang /rattle against the door when it is closed , otherwise it is ideal for its purpose .
