It arrived fast. Assembly is minimal and if you read the instructions, set up and operation is easy. It produced none of the clicks and noises others have mentioned except when the thermostat switches on and off with a subdued soft click which is much quieter than I have found in other fan heaters. The thermostat is also more accurate than others I’ve had although the unit seems reluctant to switch on heat sometimes. The fan is very quiet when heating and can be used in a bedroom while sleeping. The ambient room temp and other info on the screen is useful although the green temp setting is hard to see. The flame effect could be a bit brighter for daytime use and I would like the option to switch it off when heat only is required as in a dark bedroom which is why I give only 4 stars. The chrome finish does not look cheap, but the do not cover sign is annoying (nanny state) so I will buy some matt black spray paint to cover it. I recommend this fire and will likely buy another in a few weeks for the living room.
It looks good, heats the room and looks the part. Easy to install. Bought for my mums house. She is over the moon with it. The remote takes the effort out of getting up and down to change settings. Very realistic fire glow. Great value for money. Speedy delivery.

Looking at the other reviews/ questions, yes, the white ‘do not cover’ notice does spoil the effect. However, the paint on the hood is black satin, and the notice could be painted out. The LED display does go off after a few seconds. While on ‘standby’ the standby light remains on. The LED flame effect can be used with the heating part off. Time and day was fairly easy to set, but it loses the information if the power fails or it is unplugged. The manual insists on called the ‘Day’ as the ‘Date’, which is confusing . You cannot set the ‘date’, but you can set the ‘day of the week’. There are 10 timer programs which include the day of the week, and times for on and off. Pressing the 1000w and 2000w buttons selects those heat settings, but the button has to be pressed again to turn one heat setting off before the other can be turned on. (A quirk you get used to)

Use to warm my living room first thing in a morning as don’t use my central heating it’s lovely in the evening watching tv with just the fire light and heat. My cat loves laying in front of a fire if she’s happy then I’m happy. Would like to say thank you to the Amazon customer service team they was really helpful when my 1st fire some how got lost in transit so sent out a replacement Thank You.
Bit awkward to install with the fixing screws.

Turning the fire on is easy although I am not sure why an item like this needs a clock and timer. But it’s there and the slightly lurid display vanishes after a couple of minutes.
The flame effect is very much what you would expect.
The temperature sensor is great as it prevents the heater from operating above a temperature you specify, so my sister in law can simply switch it on and off via the remote control and it will know whether or not to turn the heater on at the same time.
Highly recommended for vulnerable people who have mobility issues.

Controls are a touch funny but once you get the hang of them you’ll find them ok.
Put it on just to warm house up until the heating kicks in.

The heating itself, works by room temperature for example if you want your room to stay at 24 if the fire is left on auto as soon as your room temperature drops too 22 the fire heater will turn on and goes off as soon as it hits 24. Saving on electricity. If you need it warmer just turn the temperature up, too warm turn it down . Remote control is very easy to use. The only noise from it is the heater itself when on and if you just have the flame effect, but to be honest after awhile you take no notice of it. Not been able to check the temperature out fully, but when I have had it on the room heats up quickly and this in an open planned small one bedroom house.

I wanted to replace an old gas fire that had failed. I chose this one due to the separate flame-only effect which provides a nice ambience in the evening. Also, the fit was good for my needs. Easy installation. I need to organise the cabling on the right but there is more than enough length. I have found it to be quiet enough in light use. At the price I paid, I consider this to be a bargain. (Caveat – only been using it for 2 weeks – but so far, so good!)
