Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersYou get what you pay for with Webber product’s. This kettle BBQ is simply ace as it can be used as a smoker.
You can feel the quality and know this will last a long time. Having great fun slow cooking various meats with different wood chip and rubs.
Pay the extra it is worth it.

Great Weber product and easy to use. The only design fault preventing 5* is the charcoal/fire grate, where the gaps between the bars are too far apart, allowing the charcoal to drop into the ash collector underneath. Probably works better with briquettes, but the BBQ flavours with briquettes just don’t compare.
Not to be beaten by an otherwise excellent product, I’ve bought an extra fire grate to place at 90 degrees to retain the charcoal.

A brand name, known and trusted and at last I have bought one (and the bag)
Put together 15 mins or so, easy – tools enclosed.
Cover also purchased nice and long – perfect fit
Used exact BBQ on holiday, came home and bought one. Cooks well, vent, ash collector, easy clean rack & hanging hook for lid.
May be slightly less tall than bigger model, but I did choose the ‘compact’ model.
    Delighted.

You can have a BBQ with 4 bricks and a grill, any price BBQ will work, the question is will it still be useable after a few years. That’s the Weber’s greatest feature, I have left mine in the garden uncovered for 7 years in rain, hail, snow etc and the only real wear is surface rust on the vent screw. It still works a dream.

    Other good points:
    – It’s well sealed, no dripping fat and when the lids on with the vent closed it will put the coals out so you can use again next time. Also does not let in rain, I’ve even fired it up after winter with part used coals from previous year.
    – simplicity in design, no flappy trays or fragile appendages that would be destined to snap off.
    – easy to regulate temp with the lid, gives a good range of cooking methods.

    Bad points:
    – ash tray is useless in wind and if it’s full it’s tricky to detach without spilling.
    – grill material could be better, but doubt you will get that at this price.

I would highly recommend this BBQ, but make sure you get the one you will be happy with for at least a decade, as it will last that long, maybe longer.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersNot cheap but very solid construction and will last years. Easy to use and control heat. My only caveat (why 4 not 5 star) is the grill is not stainless steel but coated and I think will deteriorate quickly. I am surprised they did not use a better quality finish. I have been using a gas grill for years and switched back to charcoal for flavour and authenticity and glad I did.

Great compact bbq, got it for car camping and it will do the job perfectly.

I’ve tried different types of BBQ’s. My dad must have bought 10 cheap ones in his life time.
A Weber will last, looks good and works very well. You’ll need to buy this quite a few hours before you’re planning to use it for the first time as left it to the last minute and it took me quite some time to assemble it.

This was easy to build and works well – the only problem is that the height of the grate isn’t adjustable so you have to get your timing spot on!

ice for at home, cooks wells, plenty of aeration, easy enough to clean, and can take legs off to take to the beach

Second Webber charcoal bbq I’ve bought. The last one I had for 12 years and it was well used. It was still useable if I’d repaired the leg that had fallen off. Fantastic sturdy products that last well. The vents are easy to use and with the close fitting lid it makes controlling the temperature and cooking of the food a breeze. Best charcoal bbq on the market in my opinion.
I got this one at a bargain price and more than happy with it.

Love it, but please read instructions before assembly.. As a man I didn’t so had to take to pieces again and rebuild properly .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA really solid robust piece of kit. The vents in the base and lid allow great control over the cooking temperature you require. Also when you have finished if you close both vents and put the lid on, the remaining charcoal goes out. I regularly get a second bbq without using any new charcoal so it saves money as well.

This BBQ suits us perfectly. It is quite sturdy and was fairly easy to assemble. This was a good buy.

For a ‘compact’ Weber, it has a decent amount of space to bbq for 6-8 adults. I have bought several kettle style bbq’s in the past and wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I bought this Weber. From the moment of (easy) assembly, I was able to see and feel that it is made from quality materials. From the grills, heavy duty coated coal basket to the handles.
The only thing which Weber can have a look at are the wheels on this bbq. It is flimsy and they have found the most complicated way to fit it – ‘don’t reinvent the wheel’ as they say. This is just me nit picking.

All in all, very happy with it. Bought a Waterproof cover for it and hoping I will get many years worth of bbq’s from it.

Very happy with my new Weber. Spacious

My mistake, although it is as described and eventually works great, I had to buy the charcoal burner chimney, charcoal, lighters and a cover, its such a lot of messing about and I believe you have to be a boy/Girl Scout to work out how much charcoal to put in and how long before you need it to be ready, I have used it twice, and will probably sell it at a loss. I wish I had spent more for a gas one!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNote to anyone wondering about the melting plastic ‘Ash tray’ mentioned in some reviews for this product: the plastic bit is a briquette/coal measurer NOT the Ash tray. Jeez

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSaw this in B&Q at 135, glad I checked amazon which was 87. Delivered the next day, assembly was straightforward and was using that evening. Great build quality, feels solid and looks smart. Cooks great and food was nicely charcoaled. As I understand it the black pot that comes with it is a charcoal scoop and isn’t meant to be put in the BBQ otherwise it will melt. Ash catcher (silver tray that sits under base) is ok – bit tricky getting it out without ash falling on floor – easier to tip in the bin when next day when ash is cold. Overall recommend spending the extra for the quality.

    Great quality, recommended

I have had a few Barbecues in the past, but this one beats them all. It is very quick to get going and holds the heat well. It was simple to put together, and cleans out well. The lid fits well, and the air-vents are very effective. Highly recommended.

Assembling this caught me out as I had a cataract difficulty (now dealt with) and got the handles swapped. Other than this it went together well. I used it only once in summer 2021 and didn’t open the vents! I have now used it for the second time in May, 2022 and the meal was top notch. The plate to catch the waste charcoal works well. All you do is turn one of the holding springs and it comes out easily. The cooking area is bigger than you think so you can invite friends round and cater well.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersUpgraded from a Smokey Joe which was a bit on the small side and only had fiddly side vents.

Bought the Amazon EU version which came from France, and arrived within 24 hours (mental).

A bit more assembly required than I imagined but I used a YouTube video which was helpful.

Very nice quality barbeque which was brilliant to use; surprisingly large grill (47cm is deceptively big), plenty of space for the air to circulate around the coal , a handy lid hook, nice big lower air vents, easy to maneuver given the clever lift and move design….

Yes, a little more expensive than the tin cans on sale elsewhere, but worth it.

So, forget global warming, forget the diet , fire up the Weber, realise you’re never going to get a six pack and eat many many kebabs.

    Pics attached.

    James.

    High Quality

Well made and easy to assemble, however it could be a bit taller. The cooking area is enough as a starter BBQ as bought this for my Son as a moving in gift.

This is a great little BBQ. It’s very light and easy to use and clean. Setting up was fairly straightforward. It’s versatile and will achieve significantly better results, as well as last longer, than typical supermarket specials. I’ve successfully smoked sausages and a spatchcocked chicken with great results. Which proved to me how good the we we ber kettle BBQs are; which is why my only regret is not spending a little more and getting a full sized kettle. If you’re on the fence then I’d suggest going for the full size. Though this is great for mobility.

Golden Review Award: 54 From Our UsersI like the product. It’s a great bbq. Bought on recommendation from multiple friends and family. We’ve had a few good uses out of it so far, and coupled with WEBER’S starter kettle, a joy.

The model I received from Amazon is a pre-2013 build and as such, according to Weber entry guidelines, cannot be successfully registered for the 10year warranty. This is cheeky by the supplier. Presumably, it’s been sat in a hanger for 5 years. It is the reason I went for a known brand over a supermarket knockoff (that I would notionally replace after 3 years) I still rate the product, but this is a mild dissatisfaction. Still, It’s going to last if my happy recommenders’ models are anything to go by.

4 stars for supplier, 5 for the manufacturer.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was tempted to buy a cheaper model but having read reviews of the Weber range I decided to take advice and buy one, as I wanted something that will last. I saved my review until the summer was over so It has been fairly well used. Firstly despite heavy use it cleaned up well for winter storage and looks like new. The quality is good and I am sure the decision to pay a bit more will pay off. Having owned a gas BBQ for many years my first few attempts with this product were mixed and bought back memories of my youth, trying to cook on little more than warm smoke whilst simultaneously blowing a miserable pile of coals! However I invested in one of those charcoal lighting chimney thingys and suddenly I became a man again! Lighting the BBQ became so so easy (of course I put it down to my MI6 secret training) that I will never dream of gas again. Hence my one tip – buy a chimney when you buy this product.
