I’ve bought this as a gift and the recipient is very pleased with it. It’s a great size for a small family and looks good. If it lasts half as long as ours (23 years and has never been stored inside) then it represents true value for money. They are easy to put together and the handle makes it easy to move when the wind changes and you need to re-position it to let the smoke drift in a different direction.
We had a similar shape but another brand bbq but its grill was chrome plated and got peeled during cleaning/scrubbing resulting in developing rust. So it was very important to me that the new grill has to be somewhat strong. This one says it’s made of steel so it should be durable and rust free. We used it once and so far so good. I used non scratch pads and dish soap. It feels sturdy and good quality. It was false economy to buy a cheap knockoff so hopefully this time buying a real Weber is a good decision.
I have been doing some research and asking around some bbq-franatic friends as well for recommendations before deciding what type and brand to go for. For us, it all came down to the Weber compact kettle charcoal grill barbecue. It is well built, well thought through, yet easy to use. Made of the highest guality materials. No detail about it is left to mere chance. We love everything about this grill – from the size,to how well it works, to how easy it is to keep it clean, the options it gives you, and last but not least, the taste of the food made on it! We bought the 47cm wide one, which easily accommodates a group of 10 ppl or even more. (tested it with 10, had loads of leftovers :)) )
We are rather beginners in the world of bbqing, and even for us it was relatively easy and straightforward to use. Of course, lots of room for imrpovement!:)
We bought some accessories as well from weber, it is really worth investing in the whole bundle from the beginning. makes the whole experience much easier and much mor enjoyable.
All in all, very happy customers here, only recommending this product! 🙂
Has an excellent guarantee from Weber, compact enough for a couple to bbq on or can easily extend to extra people. Sturdy when moving food around the grill. Bought this one for our son as we were so pleased with the one we got for ourselves two years ago.
WOW.
It was very well packaged.
I was pleasantly surprised with the easy to construct instructions. (Pictorial)
The quality for price is very good.
For a small family this BBQ is just the right size.
Highly recommend.
Some BBQs set up instructions take all day, this one was very quick and simple. Only a few nuts and bolts to put together. Really good quality materials are used. My friends have had one of these for years. Long lasting. I reccomend buying a cast iron grill off amazon if you want to take the BBQ to another level!
After trying other bbq’s I’ve now done what I should have done in the first place and bought another Weber. I had my last one for 15+ years and this one looks just as sturdy and great quality.
Already used a couple of times and planning more if the weather stays good.
If you’re buying a bbq it’s worth paying for a good one.
I like the built quality and materials, but it’s so obvious the manufacturer doesn’t want the cheaper model to attract potential buyers of more “advanced” models. For instance, the lower “door” for ashes (as well as upper valve) doesn’t have minimally convenient lever, so you will definitely need gloves to manipulate it when it’s hot. This “door” is also flat internaly, compared to more expensive models, so it doesn’t move ashes towards the holes. I doubt these things helped to reduce the price to “reasonable” (especially taking into account that the price changes by +/- 30 over time). This is the same marketing approach which car makers use.
Anyway, the device is great. I strongly advise to read the manual, especially if you are a noobie in this field (like I am). For instance, the plastic pan included is NOT for gathering ashes and hot charcoals falling from the bottom, like one of the reviewers called it and complained it melted (LOL!), but for measuring charcoal quantity when you’re loading the charcoal into the BBQ 😉
Have always gone for cheap b and q bbq’s before but splashed out on this Eeber and an pretty.impressed. works really well with a chimney starter! Good cooking area and enough space to create different temperature zones. Good basic bbq.
Like all Weber BBQs it is quality and from Amazon this was value for money. It comes flat packed and has curved surfaces so needs patience and care when handling to assemble. It can slip and slide as you are putting bolts into holes etc! Once assembled it is great. Weber has changed to design over the years so that the weak spots, air regulator beneath the bowl had a long handle that used to bend and break over time have all been cured. Mine has been assembled for two months and has been used several times. Cleaning a BBQ thoroughly is never easy but the changes to design of the lid and griddle shelf have made that easier.
I mean, what can I say? Your buying a Weber BBQ, you know the build quality is going to be good, it’ll last and it’s a good price compared to their non-compact range. Glad I went with the larger one though, more room to manoeuvre food around to hotter/ cooler spots. Get a good cover for it and there’s no reason it won’t last a good 10yrs. If I remember, I may do an update if it’s still going in 10yrs time
Not cheap but very solid construction and will last years. Easy to use and control heat. My only caveat (why 4 not 5 star) is the grill is not stainless steel but coated and I think will deteriorate quickly. I am surprised they did not use a better quality finish. I have been using a gas grill for years and switched back to charcoal for flavour and authenticity and glad I did.
A fantastic barbecue, very sturdy and good quality. Worth spending the extra money for this quality. Really happy with it.
Product was a return so heavily discounted but still brand new. Needs a little thought to put together and managed to get a stage wrong which led me to have to take apart at which point the bq pinged apart scratching the casing! Once constructed it works well although the lid frequently come off and hits the floor causing paint damage. Could be a better fit. Need to be careful adjusting the air vents as these are obviously red hot so use something to touch them. Not sure I would pay full price but good value at the discounted price.
Have wanted a Weber BBQ for quite a few years now and finally decided to get one this year and I’m really pleased with it all just hoping it over winters okay and is usable for next summer.
After many many years of various poor quality barbecues, It has taken me till retirement todo d one that works so well. They seem ubiquitous for a reason; easy cleaned (worst part) temperature adjustable and sturdy we are v impressed
Bought for hubby’s 60th birthday, he is over the moon with it, Bought with rotisserie, work grea
My boyfriend suggested getting the same BBQ as him, he usually smokes things in his and his has lasted a long while, so this was a bit of money well spent! 😀
ice bbq it was a bit fiddley putting it together but not to bad the instructions are not very clear, I put it together and then had to take the legs off to put ash shelf on, Unless I read the instructions wrong thes springs on the legs should have been put on the legs before fitting to the bbq’ ay ho it works brilliantly.
Arrived quickly, easy to assemble and I successfully cremated everything the first time I used it. Great.
My mistake, although it is as described and eventually works great, I had to buy the charcoal burner chimney, charcoal, lighters and a cover, its such a lot of messing about and I believe you have to be a boy/Girl Scout to work out how much charcoal to put in and how long before you need it to be ready, I have used it twice, and will probably sell it at a loss. I wish I had spent more for a gas one!
So 2 bbq’s cooked very pleased with how it cooks, lovely heat distribution I have cooked steak burgers chicken sausages & marinade pork all came out superbly. Minor gripe lid catch loose as if tightened unable to open & close vent. My own mod was to fit a steel washer. Overall 9 out of ten. Good job.
Bought to replace a smaller loved version. Easy to put together. Easy to clean out.
Great BBQ and easy to put together! Bought the separate cover which is useless in the rind as it constantly blows off even when secured with the tie!!
We cooked steak, chops and sausage on the Weber and the meat was delicious. Would highly recommend.
We finally had to replace our old Weber BBQ that we worked out, we have had since 1989! 32 years of use isn’t bad, so thought we would invest in another (I have told our daughter that we will leave it to her in our will, because if this one lasts us as long, it will outlast us!)
Very well engineered product. Well worth the money, will outlast cheaper “lightweight” Barrie’s.
Clear assembly instructions as well as basic cooking times guide.
Brilliant bit of kit. Quality construction and materials. If you buy it make sure to get a Weber cover and one of the rapid start chimneys. Assembly instructions nice and clear and user guide very useful. Found out I had been doing barbecuing wrong!
First Weber barbecue I have, it is increbidly great, easy to use and assemble, lightweight but sturdy metal, absolutely nothing to complain!
Good quality sturdy BBQ always use Weber over the years and always lasted well
Really easy to build. Great quality and fantastic heat (if you burn right of course…). This BBQ is a pleasure to cook on and I am finding any excuse to do so.
Always had a Weber bbq as they’re the best, our last one was gas but decided to change back to coal because the flavour of food is better. Love this bbq, highly recommend it.
Love this little bbq
Easy to assemble and great to use
Idea for family of 3
Great everyday BBQ. Very easy to assemble. Model has a lid that comes off and hangs on a hook when not using – would have preferred a hinged lid model .
Overall, very decent.
Easy enough to put together, looks great, easy to clean and good cooking surface area.
I would say temperature control is a little off, its difficult to get an idea of how hot the bbq is on this particular model. May be worthwhile adding a thermometer to your order.
Usual Weber quality, and much better than the cheap old tat. Easy to use, brilliant instructions supplied by Weber, simple to set up, holds the heat for a long time, fully adjustable and all round a great barbecue. Highly recommended.
Easy to assemble… Fantastic to braai those lamb chops to perfection and turn the neighbours green with envy whilst they choke on the smoke and their microwave meal
Assembled in 20 mins. Pretty solid and used 10 times so far so good.
