After more than a decade without a proper Flightsim, this is more than making up for it. The scenery is staggering and the weather effects are mind blowing!
My only disappointment is that there aren’t more aircraft, especially military and rotary!
The graphics are unbelievable realistic! Let’s just get that out of the way!…
Not enjoying the pay for aircrafts and airports in the game though! This isn’t a cheap game to begin with, but adding in more pay to use items which again aren’t cheap is putting a downer on i
Gosh it takes up a fair chunk of memory on the xbox series x. Better than the windows version I played with Windows 95
Very good flight simulator for the xbox series x detailed graphics great way to spend a few hours exploring different parts of the world
What a game, its beautiful, travelling around in a plane with wonderful scenery, I played it on a friend’s Series S, but the Series X is even bette
This game is great for the first couple of hours like flying to destinations you always wanted to see and flying over your own home etc which is fantastic including the details. The extras on the other hand are expensive… so and add on content e.g. Planes or airport detailing are mega for what you get and not much is available at the moment then comes the extras you will need to get serious about the game you can either go down the keyboard and mouse route or go all out and spend alot more on a joystick etc. This game is great for a couple hours fun but don’t expect much content I would personally recommend this if you are New to flying sim games or if your the hard-core type go and get the Premium Deluxe version and then is alot of content on their and the price difference compared to upgrading at a later date is alot more money so go all out from the start! Happy flying
Really accessible, easy to get started with simple, clear on-screen tuition. I was able to fly confidently within a few minutes.
I flew over my own house, and the surrounding fields and woodland were true to life. No, it’s not do detailed that houses look the same as in life, but major buildings do – try flying through New York!
If you want to look at places to visit, this is also for you, as you can really get a feel for the terrain and the scenery.
I love it.
Extremely realistic with attention to detail of flight controls, navigation and terrain!
Brought this for hubby at Christmas. He was an avid flight Sim player many years ago on the PC. What can I say, brilliant, haven’t seen much of him since Xmas, lol. This works just fine on the Xbox Series X. He has now purchased the joystick, this is yet to arrive.
Very good… Shame you need to buy lots of add on stuff
Absolutely stunning graphics a must have for any flying enthusias
Won’t buy physical media again. Disk must be inserted to play. DUHHH! There is about 100gb of downloads with this plus the disks themselves. There are 6 free updates as well for areas. The gold update with 10 planes and 10 airports was good, but I should have just purchased from the App Store. Downside. No rewards points. You’ll like this and there is a steep learning curve. Post install has configurations which need to be tuned.. I also picked up the thrustmaster hotas and pedals, so an extra 225 on top of the game.
The scale and execution of this flight sim is unreal. Watch the documentary on YT on how this sim was made. It’s an incredible achievement and it’s worth buying an Xbox X just for this release. It runs as smooth as silk and enables you to actually learn to fly a plane properly. You can go full anorak and learn every detail of aviation if you want or you can use all of the assists if you want a more Arcady experience. I’ve chosen the anorak route and am loving exploring every corner of the world. It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen on a console.
Having flown some 70 hours in a Boeing 737 simulator I can say this game is very realistic and the graphics are excellent. It certainly teaches you to fly and it is worth working through the lessons. I have even flown over my house. Took some 5 hours to load initially but worth the wait.
Excellent flight sim. It has my local airport. I fly out of EGFE and it’s virtually the same. I can practise manoeuvres that I would not normally be able to in real life.
I am new to the flight sim world and purchased the x box software variant as that was the only equipment available to buy and play the game on. The instructional tutorials are difficult using the controller but with the assist menu options it allows you to fly and land using the game in the world setting. I am using the S/W to explore the world and re-visit places at my age I will not get back to, and I recommend the game to those looking for a similar experience..
Hopefully saves you 50 as it’s free on Xbox gamepass
Runs perfect on Series X..Some areas (houses etc) are not 100% and some features are 2d etc however it’s a huge game and definitely worth a download (constant updates too for areas)
There are some in store pay features (aircrafts and airports) which can be costly however base game is fine!
Microsoft flight simulator on xbox series x is absolutely stunning. It’s not perfect but with every update it gets better and better and is absolutely stunning the level of detail is truly stunning is only slightly let down with things like certain large structures missing in the UK like The big one rollercoaster at Blackpool and Stealth rollercoasters at Thrope park near London both should be over 200 foot high but are not shown. This are important due to how close to actual airports and in reality are used to guide aeroplanes into the nearby airports.
As someone who has played flight simulators since FS2002, I must say, I never expected a gaming console to feature a flight simulation game. And I never expected it to be this beautiful. I’m just stunned, as it has taken breathe away. When this was first announced on Xbox, I couldn’t believe it because historically, flight simulation is a really expensive that requires one of the most expensive PCs out there. We’re talking about 1,000-1,500 gaming PCs, even possibly 2,000 if you want a flawless experience. And yet, here comes Xbox, and proves that you don’t need to have a 1,000+ PC just to play this game. It’s brilliant. The graphics are beautiful, and the skies are absolutely limitless. You can travel the world and see any place you desire. Fly a Cessna 152 over the Rocky Mountains or the Sedona desert, or fly the Airbus A320 from the U.K. to Palms De Mallorca. All while embracing amazing realism from air traffic control, to flight planning and conducting checklists in flight…and lastly, admiring the views from high up. It’s just great.
Although the controls are quite tricky, more you play, the more you get used to it. I find the game very relaxing and it’s great to take your mind elsewhere!!!. Fantastic graphics. Highly recommend.
This game is simply amazing, playing on the Series X and blown away by the visuals and the volumetric clouds. Got it on GamePass so not paid for it but gladly would if it wasn’t.
Love this game ignore the previous review best game ever highly recommend
You can fly anywhere in the world, which is already a major bonus point. Controls are good, and the graphics are great too. One issue is that it takes up quite a bit of space (Around 100 GB), but games like warzone already take more than it (300 GB). Overall a great game.
The whole world in 1:1 scale in a game, it’s incredible. It’s tricky to learn about everything but it is a full on simulator. There’s a lot of tutorials on how to do certain things which I’m getting through slowly but this game is very impressive. It’s also receiving the free updates like PC so expect more detailed areas in the future
An amazing experience like no other. The whole world is in your hands. Yes its not perfect and there are a few minor technical hiccups but its not game breaking. Nothing like this has been done on a console before so it was never going to be a smooth ride 100% from the get go. My experience so far has been one of wonder and amazement at the technical achievement on display in this game. The planes are fun to fly and although the controls take a bit of getting used to they certainly don’t spoil the experience. Also the fact that this is on Gamepass is an even better reason to download and try this amazing game.
I still have yet to find my house though lol.
All in all I highly recommend this to anyone with ambitions of flying a jet liner anywhere in the world to give this a go. Its fun and quite frankly breathtaking.
As the Xbox Series X has an ultra fast SSD, the game installs and loads up as quickly as the fastest PCs. The file size is much smaller than that of COD. The game on Series X plays on the PC Ultra Settings as stated by Digital Foundry. You can fly any where in the world and it’s all mapped out through satellites and has real time Live weather effects. The game can be as difficult as you want. Loads of settings to help make it just right for you. The game looks absolutely incredible on a 4K HDR screen. This is a flight simulator, if you’re looking for GTA V craziness, this isn’t it. It’s an extremely relaxing game that allows you to explore the world from the skies. I’ve flown over Disney World, New York, London, Iceland, Tenerife and New Zealand so far and can’t believe how beautiful it all looks. This is definitely my Game Of The Year. I look forward to spending time flying the skies around the world!
I had been waiting for this game to arrive for the past year on the next gen Xbox and it’s absolutely perfect from day one. Granted it’s a large install size but this is because the game is huge – it’s the whole world! In addition to this the game uses photogrammetry and Bing Data world graphics to bring everything to life. There is no other experience like this out there! The game has so many options and tutorials for beginners, all the way to the real life simulator experience, you can really tune this to how deep into the simulator experience you wish to go or if you just want to enjoy the sights. There’s many things to do in game; landing challenges, bush trips, discovery trips where you can hone your navigational skills. I’m so impressed with how well this game runs on the Series X, loading times are minimal for such a large game and you can go anywhere!! There are 2 key free updates I’d recommend you download once the game loads up and they are a World Update and UK update 3 – these really add detail to points of interest/football stadiums etc. One of the best games ever made, highly recommended. P.S. if you want to fly from John O’Groats to Lands End in under 30 minutes buy the Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft, available in game, it’s absolutely amazing – goes up to 1300kts and 65,000ft!!
