Great picture quality.
Easy to set and use.
I purchased instead of getting a new TV,
I am delighted I did.
So easy to use. Really like it! Find this the best solution for people (like me), who don’t like to have a TV standing/hanging somewhere ;-). There are some smaller annoying things that you have to get used to, like reduced brightness if power supply is not plugged in, regular auto refocus if wall surface is not smooth, some apps crash (probably more a platform than a Halo issue).
It was a Christmas gift for my husband. He wanted it for a very long time. He’s super happy and excited about. Picture quality is fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.
Easy set up.
Used against pale painted wall as 2.5m screen.
Great picture quality – good in daylight, amazing in the dark! Easy app access including Netflix,YouTube, Disney + and Amazon.
Easy stream on compatible other apps is phone/iPad eg BBC iPlayer.
Occasional tiny audio lag – seems only significant on casting from phone.(no issue using HDMI/laptop and not significant on most XGIMI apps via projector but evident if you’re looking for it) – there are comments about this on a few XGIMI threads- company are aware and seem confident firmware upgrade may improve it. I noticed watching the pundits talk during a football match – i guess how much it affects your experience depends on how you plan to use it and if you will be flexible to use laptop:HDMI cable for a movie etc.
Overall great produce. Really impressed.
Best silent projector with really everything I wanted in them! I am a choosy guy, and not easy to please, but this projector made me real happy! Only thing, you need to buy your active shutter glasses seperatly. 10 out of 10!
It is portable and easy to adjust the view from sideway. Auto focus is a plus side for us. The down side is the speaker is not quite powerful enough. Best to link with other bluetooth speaker to have a surrounding effect.
I’m pleased i decided to invest a little more money, the reviews are right, great Projector, I’ve had a few projectors and you can definitely tell the difference in quality, great product!
I use it in a Motorhome have downloaded most Apps i use on a Amazon Stick Movies ,TV,Youtube, Can connect to my iPad quite easily using my Phone as a Hot Spot only thing using a USB needed remove it and replace it again to get contact with great sound and picture made my own screen use 40 inch by 22 inch could take bigger but a handy size for a Motorhome. Matt Grey on one side and White on the other good picture on both sides the on goods nights on side of the van any size you want .Tip get yourself Unlimited Data on your Phone for downloading Movies and TV Channels (haven’t tried connecting a Fire Stick Yet But think it will work) over all I think its Grea
We use this out side whilst in the hot tub. It is actually left in doors and shot through the window which is really useful. Picture is outstanding. Volume is not brilliant but we use a bose Bluetooth speaker. Instructions not great as it doesn’t explain that you can increase and decrease the image size which is a must. The keystone correction is brilliant and allows you to get a perfect screen shape regardless of the position of the projector. Can recommend.
VERY quiet!
You can watch a film without the blaring fan noise of other projectors. The autofocus is brilliant too.
Top quality projector, very bright and crisp image. Only downside (as with all projectors is need it to be very dark outside to be able to see the image). Relatively easy to set up and was watching within 20 minutes.
Absolutely wonderful product, can’t fault it in any ways. Amazing picture quality, really good speaker and the small portable size make it more versatile. Used in our living room, kids bedroom and garden. Highly recommended
We opted for this projector on the basis that the brightness was higher and we could therefore watch tv even when the sun is shining through the living room windows!!!
We expected something good from this for the price, but what we received was GREAT! Best choice we made. Picture quality is fantastic, sound can be a little quiet if you have a room of people, therefore we need to look a sound alternative for the output. But that’s really our only complaint.
Works great in a dark room, no good for outdoor movies unless it’s pitch black ou
Very easy to setup and use. No issues with casting or use doing presentations from phone or pc
Some apps not yet available (like iplayer) but cast from phone, so not really an issue
sound impressive for size. brightness could be a bit better – if it’s a bright room, it can be a bit washed ou
I’m not a serial purchaser of these things, nor am I a technofile who will eat on about how black black is.
What I will say is we moved into a house that had a big ank wall and we pondered the idea of a projector.
I spent an age reviewing alsorts of types of projectors before settling on this one. As I’m sure you are aware you can spend a fortune on these things, and there are lots of projectors for next to no money that promise the earth in terms of performance. This projector fell slap bang into the middle of the market, so we took the plunge.
We. We’re. Not. Disappointed. This is one great peice of kit for a family movie night. We have a usb stick with films on and an amazon fire stick for TV and it works a dream. The user interface is super simple. We needed to download a file manager app to access the stuff on our USB which was also simple. The image quality is breathtaking. I’ve seen some reviews of this projector lament the speaker positioning but Hells teeth, it’s good enough to wake the neighbours if you crank the volume up. The sound quality is superb too. And it’s such a compact unit too.
We originally set it up on a tripod, then bought the official stand for it, which is also worth getting as it hides the wire nicely.
Anyway, if you are looking for a great value projector, my experience is that with this unit, you will be smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
This is a very good projector. I was looking for a projector that has a built-in smart TV system as well as a horizontal keystone correction. The product satisfies both.
Compare with other brands, such as ViewSonic or benQ, the projector has a very good price-quality ratio.
You do not need anything else to watch Youtube or Amazon Prims vieeo. You will need a TV box or Fire TV sticks for Netflix.
If you are a Chinese living in the UK, yes this TV box can broadcast CCTV5 if you understand what I am talking about.
Amazing picture, easy software to use, the control is super helpful.
The best thing is that the projector remains SILENT even after 3hrs playing and having it next to me.
The integrated speaker is more than enough for indoor use.
The brightness is acceptable, will not be able to see outdoors on a sunny day, but much than any other portable projector I have seen.
The idea of it is great, it’s a neat little portable unit with good sound but to use it outside you need a very dark space otherwise you can’t see it. The sound is good considering the size of it. It’s disappointing that Netflix, iplayer and itv player won’t work on it but Disney+, YouTube, Spotify and amazon prime work well
Brilliant picture. We use this when camping watching movies outside and playing bowling on the Wii. Back home it’s used in our bedroom. I bought a cheap grey blackout blind which works great.
Amazing quality product. We are so happy with it, it works well outside also! Can’t wait to take it on our camping trip with us in the summer! Customer service from xgimi have also been fantastic! Couldn’t ask for more!
we got this on prime day, it came next day , super fast ! we had been searching for a while for a projector, always worry the little ones are not as steady as the fixed ones. Give it a bet & got this, & we bet it right ! we didn’t expect this petite box has brought us that much joy, youtubes, Netflix & prime video & link with your phone & many more APPs, deadly easy to operate, the sound is super, like in a cinema round , picture zoom out almost the whole wall, it is still very clear, although the sunset is late in the summer , room is not dark enough, but the picture is still very clear. the best part is it is so small & portable, no cable needed once you charged it, you can take any room any where you want. I will recommend anyone who is willing to buy a projector, its super good quality , it will reach or even over your expectations! don’t forget buy the stand as I did, the customer service sorted me out efficiently, its the best buy with our lately spendings .
Bought the Halo, as Xgimi pro + would not find the HDMI connection(shame as the rest of it was faultless) .
Doesn’t auto correct keystone like the xgimi Pro +, but simple enough to sort out .. However works great on my computer for zwift /Bkool, real Boyz toyz sound and picture is great from this little box. Worth the buy. Simple to set up uses Android TV, can’t get I player or itv hub to work, but there is a work around for Netflix. I
For the money this projector offers excellent features.
The brightness is top notch for a battery powered projector and I was able to use it in the garden before it was totally dark and still get a good picture.
The sound quality from the built in speakers is good considering the size of the device and the placement but I
have paired a couple of Bose Soundlink Micro speakers to get better stereo separation.
The image quality is impressive and automatic keystone adjustment is almost perfect.
I have been projecting a 78″ image and the 1080P image has been superb. The projector is rated for much larger images but whether the quality will deteriorate to a noticable level is unclear.
Battery life is excellent and I did get around the 4 hours quoted. After the battery low indicator came on I still had a significant amount of time before the projector went off.
The initial setup, configuration, and usability is simple and the Kodi interface is friendly to use.
On the base of the projector there is a standard 1/4″ thread so you can use virtually any camera tripod to mount
it.
Very happy with this projector.
Looks modern (we ordered the Xgimi stand) and just works so well with our 100″ outdoor screen. Feels well made and very solid.
Works well with USB movies as well as our 4K Fire Stick (although we use the apps like Prime more).
Supports our Bluetooth sound bar and sub too. The built in speakers are actually very good for the size – just lack the bass for movies.
Yes it’s a mobile projector so you need to use this during/after dusk – but at least it’s 800 ANSI lumen rating is more realistic than others that state 8000 lumen – it’s pretty good!!
We have used it indoors and had the screen over 160″ – still very bright and clear in a dark room on a white wall.
I would have liked a lens cover though. That’s my only criticism. I’ve yet to try it on battery only mode.
This projector is excellent! The picture and sound quality are of a really high standard, it’s easily portable and connecting is simple. You can download apps to run Prime, Disney and other streaming services, so it’s great for home cinema. If you want to use if for presentations, then it will can screen mirror your IOS device and will show your presentations.
The seller is fantastic, really friendly and responsive.
I bought this product last summer and it has been absolutely brilliant. The picture quality and image calibration (for when the projector is at an angle) has been excellent. It is bright enough to see even not in a completely dark room and the integrated speakers do a good enough job even to use it as a portable speaker.
Given the quality of the product and the customer service I would definitely recommend
Have now been sent a replacement unit and works as I had originally hoped. The device is absolutely now it works. Can’t give 5 stars based on my original experience. Should also note using outside requires a screen and heavy shade otherwise you can’t see the image.
Very pleased with the halo after weeks of research and returning the ViewSonic X10-4K, which despite being twice the price was not twice as good. The view sonic fans were loud, it was bulky, overheated and had very limited adjustment options, like no zoom or horizontal lens shift, so you had to position it exactly in the right place. The aptoide gui was also horrible to use. I had a fan fault so I returned it and I’m so glad this happened. I’m highlighting all this because the halo is better in every regard apart down resolution. The android tv is great, you can’t hear the fans, it’s truly portable, it’s bright enough, and the 1080p picture is great, despite it not being 4K (the view sonic picture and colour pop is superior but I’m still happier with the halo overall). It also has zoom, and lens shift so you can perfectly adjust the screen size without needing to move the projector. Well done XGIMI.
Things I like :
-Best in category and price range
– Amazing picture quality @1080p and Ultra HD up scaling is amazing too.
-Auto Focus and Keystone correction make setup anywhere hassle free. Does not need to be kept right in front of the screen.
-3D function is a treat with the right file and glasses(need to spend extra on the Active shutter glasses)
– Brightness good enough in dark or mildly lit rooms
– inbuilt speaker good enough to fill up medium sized room
– Inbuilt Android Tv 9 is a big boon. Have been using mine connected to Fire TV stick though.
– Remote functions easy to use.
– Good build quality. Not plasticky at all.
– Virtually noiseless
I was struggling to find several key points which were critical for me when I was looking for a projector, especially how good it is for gaming. So I decided to write this review and to answer all these questions important for me and simply condense together all personal pros and cons:
Pros:
– amazing picture quality, bright enough and more importantly contrast is amazing, which allows you to see the depth of black even on a white wall
– official Android TV 9.0 works perfectly, tons of useful apps incl Amazon TV, Apple TV, Youtube, Netflix (read cons) and etc
– it’s built-in with a good CPU powerful enough to run 4k in 60fps without problems (which might be not a case for cheap projectors), also works great with external SSD storage and run heavy movies
– even if you use keystone correction, the edges of the image are not blurred (as may happen with cheap projectors), but rather remains sharp and focused, also it uses autofocus over time while lens heating to keep the image sharp, also if you move it uses autofocus
– great choice for games, Input lag: ~43.1 ms of delay in “Game” mode (it is better than similar projectors for this money), but keep in mind that Game mode doesn’t work if you use keystone correction. Works perfectly with Google Stadia
– decent sound quality and also works perfectly with external speaker Google Home Max by Bluetooth connection
– great quality remote control with voice control and Bluetooth connection
– outstanding service, if you have any questions you can ask them directly via email or even Instagram to get all up to date information and support
– manual keystone correction, which might be a downside, but I prefer to set up it manually for the better result
Cons
– the picture is directed slightly upward, which may be a plus, but it is a disadvantage for me because it stands on a high shelf and I use the manual as a stand for correction
– the ‘Games’ mode doesn’t work if you use keystone correction as mentioned above
– you need to apply small extra efforts to set up Netflix, but in the end it works well (google it)
I hope that was useful for you, if so thumbs up!
Very impressed of this little projector, it worth every penny
Very quiet , easy to use , great sound quality, nice colours and contrast and very portable for use on battery back up
Wow what more could I say the picture quality is fantastic for such a small item, battery will last about 90 mins, by adding a fire stick you can have Netflix and Apple TV.
Sound quality is a 8 out of 10. Would highly recommend this projector for internal and external use.
For its designed purpose, a highly portable, wireless, rechargeable projector, you cannot go wrong.
This will not match the brightness of a wired 2000 digital projector, but we have used it inside and out after dark and it delivers a great picture.
The ability to stream directly from Netflix, Youtube, Prime, and from my home NAS is fantastic. Auto focus can be a bit temperamental if you use it on an uneven surface, but pop it into manual focus mode and all us good!
This is so quick to setup we are using it several times a week to watch footie or films.
Sat in our gazebo with a patio heater last week for my daughters birthday and watched Glastonbury from 2019, 120 inches on the gazebo wall with a bluetooth monster speaker paired over bluetooth. It was like being there in the front row.
Well worth the money.
Overall, slightly disappointed – not quite what one would expect for a 700 projector. Picture quality is great, but don’t look too closely at darker areas, there is a large amount of noise – this is something that I didn’t expect as my previous Passport M50 didn’t produce any.
HDR content looks beautiful when played using an app that supports it.
Brightness is enough to illuminate Blackpool though and the picture can be viewed durng the day reasonably well, obviously it lacks contrast during the day but it is viewable.
Auto focus can be quite annoying, the new update ( offered on first startup, I waited ) seems to make it focus continually – so I have turned off the depth focus, this appears to have fixed the issue.
The biggest problem, it comes pre-installed with ITV hub, but on opening tells me the producer of the equipment isn’t authorised (or words to that effect) and therefore the app will not run. This really impacts it’s usefulness, Netflix also requires a “hack” and installation of an intermediary software to run. I haven’t tried All4, BBC iPlayer or MY5 yet nor the freeview app <- as only My5 appears in the Google Play TV Store it seems. The others would need to be sideloaded and therefore not work quite as well as native Android TV apps. I bought the projector during a 15% flash sale and still feel short changed by the lack of localised TV support on an Android TV box.
This projector has amazing picture quality, it’s actually HD unlike what other projectors claim to be. It also has some nice speakers that produce sounds loud enough to watch a movie in a spacious room by a busy road. I had previously bought a cheaper projector off amazon but returned it because the picture quality was so bad but this one is really good. It’s also bright enough that i can watch stuff during the day without having to close the blinds sometimes.
It also has built-in apps so you can stream shows without connecting it to another source such as a computer or tablet, although it does lack amazon prime, it still has netflix and Disney plus.
I shopped around for weeks, looking for the right size, quality, brightness and portability for a projector I could use both at my studio, and when giving lectures away from home base. Seeing great reviews for this one, I went ahead, knowing in advance there would be an issue with Netflix, but that there was an APK download workaround.
There was also controversy concerning battery life descriptor originally claimed, but this must have been corrected by the time I took delivery of mine, as I am able to run in Video Mode for over 2 hours 30 minutes, or 45 minutes at a manual setting of 100% Brightness on a single battery charge. Video mode is perfectly adequate and lights up a 92 inch screen area very well. On full power, it delivers a flawless, sharp, bright image.
Auto-focus works well on an even, flat white surface or screen, and although Keystone is not fully automatic in all directions, it can be manually tweaked once you get the hang of it. You can see how it looks projecting against my white bedroom wall in one of the attached photos.
I have also read some complaints about Customer Service in other reviews, however XGMI have been prompt in their replies to me, and they run an active Facebook users page, to which they post regular updates and respond to users in a timely manner. There have also been two firmware updates since I bought the Halo.
A word has to be said about the apps that come with the Halo. While there is a full installation and transport control for Amazon Prime using the supplied remote control, the same cannot be said for Netflix, and there is no native installation of BBC UK, or ITV UK or Channel 4 UK, nor is there a browser such as Chrome or Firefox native to the device that might allow access to subscriber sites. My workaround for all this has had to be to purchase an Amazon 4K Firestick, costing 50, after which the Halo remote controls the apps on the Firestick, and is necessary since the Firestick remote control doesn’t control volume on the Halo. Another slight annoyance is that the Firestick permanently occupies the HDMI and USB slots,as you can see from the attached image of the projector mounted on the XGMI floorstand, and so I hope that eventually all UK streaming sites will be native to the Halo.
Another issue I have noted is that the 3.5mm audio input doesn’t detect a cable already plugged into it at startup, and so it is necessary to boot the Halo first, and then insert the cable. The HDMI cable on the other hand is detected, and can be accessed using the Input button on the remote control.
I also purchased the tabletop stand, as in the attached, which I have reviewed separately, and the floor stand, also reviewed separately, right after this.
But for the issues with battery life and apps, I would have given the XGIMI Halo five stars, as it’s a truly ideal little projector that outperforms its size.
Well impressed with this projector ,could not make my mind up weather to buy it for quite a while ,but in the end I’m glad I did ,I use it mainly with the Amazon Fire stick 4K which if you watch a Film in Ultra 4K it is a real treat the colours outstanding for a portable projector , there is a lot you can use it on it’s own I believe there is an issue with Netflix at the moment but I believe you can get round it , but I view it through the Firestick anyway so at the moment I’m very happy with i
After extensive research, I decided to purchase the XGIMI Halo and it was definitely the right choice as it did not disappoint! The design is sleek, compact, portable and user friendly. I had no trouble installing Netflix using XTV manager. The picture quality is amazing and you get a true cinematic experience especially when paired with my boom speakers to get surround sound. With the two hour battery life I will be looking forward to an outdoor cinema experience with the kids when the weather permits!
Overall its amazing…very low fan noise…good quality speakers…wish it was bit cheaper.
The Halo is on pair with the other projector this company does. Amazing quality (picture and product). Outstanding customer service. But for me. the size and weight of this projector outweighs the brightness gains that provides over the Mogo Pro. Battery is not great neither. There was an issue with the advertised capacity of the battery and what they delivered. I contacted the manufacturer and they clarified it for me.
Overall it’s an amazing projector, but for my needs, the Mogo Pro+ is a better fit.
Lovely compact device; a similar size to a Sonos One speaker. Feels very substantial.
Setting up is really easy; using an Android phone it inherited my wifi settings. Also, as the auto-focussing works superbly it feels easy to put it away in the knowledge that setting up, the next time it’s brought out to be used, takes seconds.
I’ve used the projector against both a white wall, to produce a ~80″ image and a 100″ portable screen. Both were excellent. Plenty bright enough, even with lights on in the room. Brightness is good just using the battery but even better when the power supply is used. Sound is good too, plenty big enough for the rooms that I’ve used it in.
The well-documented absense of an integrated Netlix app is a little irritating and although not beyond the wit of man to get around (I’m using a Now TV stick having also used the side loaded Android app version) it really is something that would be great if Xgimi got sorted. The presense of other apps (Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, BT Sport) made this highly usable straight out of the box.
I’ve had some contact with the Xgimi support and have been very impressed by the promptness and quality of the support given.
What amazing image, bright cinema-quality in the living room. However, it is not perfect. The android system is not the best and lacks real apps, Netflix is still an issue, and limited with what you can install. I would have been pleased if this was nothing more than a projector without the system. Attached to my Apple TV means I get all the apps and tools I need to make this work. At times there is a lip-sync issues, like old karate films where the lips move and the words come after, but this could be due to slow internet at times as it does not appear to be consistent, and is an issue with only some apps. Connected to my AppleTV I can watch Netflix as if a cinema is in my living room. I have not been successful using the Xgimi apps as a remote as none seem to recognise this device, and airplay on android is not perfect as the quality of the image is less than perfect, but connected to my AppleTV I am able to airplay, stream and more. Overall pleased with the purchase but hope future updates can solve some of the issues it currently has.
Fantastic projector, clear bright picture. I use mine under a garden gazebo and it’s still watchable in the daytime.
Fantastic projector.
Best by far in it’s class.
Bright clear amazing sharpness.
Keystone adjustments excellent with auto focus.
Very pleased with this purchase.
I’ve been using it for a while and I’d say it’s nice projector for home and office.
PROS: Compact size, mobile device. Picture brightness at max 600 with battery (or 800 plugged in) is quite good.
Fast autofocus. Sharp details (as for budget projector) (Attached image don’t reflect actual sharpness). Works super quiet, fan never distracted me. Sound quality is nice and clear.
CONS: No horizontal auto keystone correction… on the side mode you need manually correct keystone points.
Some people are not happy that Netflix is not integrated, I use HDMI cable with laptop and it’s fine for me.
Conclusion: I was looking for something to watch movies on large screen. At first I was thinking about super small projectors but their 200-300 ANSI lumens looks too low for brightness, where XGIMI HALO offers 600-800 in it’s compact size, price with discount for this projector is ok.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 star was the lack of native support for Netflix although you can still watch netflix by installing xtv manager – it’s just a bit clunky. Also the battery only lasts about 2 hours, not the 4 advertised. The projector itself is great – good picture, brightness, sound and connectivity options. I use it all the time. For the money, though, I wish they supplied a tripod.
The projector is really good for the size and value.
Extremely bright compared to many of the other portable projects, for example Nebula Mars II Pro. Really great auto focus and sounds great for the size.
It runs Android TV so you can install all the apps you’d need, with the one exception of Netflix. Netflix need every manufacturer to go through a certification process for Digital Rights management reasons, and Xgimi are in the process of completely this. Until then, you can not use the Netflix app of the Play Store, but there is an old version of the app that can be used if you are stuck (but I found that this only displayed content at 480p, which was rather blurry compared to the other 1080p content you were streaming). Hopefully this comes in 2021, and then this will be even better.
It’s great for making a 80 inch display but if you go beyond that like i did, going up to 200 inch can affect image quality
Highly recommended projector with built in speaker. No need for external speakers and on a 100 inch Amazon screen you can really see the quality. Great for movie nights!
This is a really nice piece of kit. Great picture and excellent brightness for a portable projector. Not mad about the Android TV operating system, it lacks access to a lot of the apps in the standard Google Play store, including Netflix. A real shame, Netflix is my main source of viewing these days, but a number of workarounds can be found on the internet, which work okay.
I had some initial problems with the included remote connecting, but got it working using the Android TV Remote app on my phone. Remote feels a little cheap for such a premium product, and no included AAA batteries, minor niggle, I know.
Just to mention, the projector battery is only 5400mAh. Haven’t really tested it for duration as yet, so time will tell how well that lasts.
Well after months of research and considerations I zeroed in on this product. The product seems expensive for a not so well established or known brand but decided to take my chances and I must say I have been extremely happy and satisfied with this product so far.

– Heard mixed opinions about support services. Have not had need to contact them yet though.
– could have come with a carry case.
– Two HDMI/ USB ports would have been amazing.
Wel all in all really happy with the purchase so far. Home Movie experience has been breathtaking. Have been flaunting this product with friends
I previously had the xgimi mogo pro which was very impressive, my first portable projector, very pleased with it. I upgraded to the halo as using it both portable and at home, this one is brighter and working better in more direct sunlight. For a portable projector it’s one of the brightest out there. Picture quality very good and colours are more natural than other portable projectors out there. Good sound from built in speakers
Really need to be dark room to get the best out of the projector but it is a great piece of kit. I watch BT Sport direct from the inbuilt app and its great.
Ok so Netflix didn’t work out of the box but there is a workaround. I’ve been watching Netflix on this every night and it’s fantastic. The app straight out of the box doesn’t work but there is a documented fix for this. Best portable projector on the market currently.
I had high expectations for this product for the price and ive got to say it is amazing, the battery is not as long as advertised but you could easily watch a 3 hour movie which is plenty I suffer from the rainbow effect which is apparent but I soon got used to it it is easy to setup and works flawlessly by far the best and brightest portable projector on the market today the sound quality is very clear fantastic bit of kit and fits nice in a old camcorder case with all the accessories.
The projector is really good, it is still portable (although not super small) and the picture quality is good.
Probably a tad overpriced and the Netflix thing is annoying, another annoying thing is the Disney Plus app seems to have a really dark picture … like 30% less bright or something.
I solved investing 30 quid in a Firestick, which I use for everything now (I don’t use Android TV anymore).
If you don’t want to invest a single penny after this, probably I’d say 3 stars … but with a Firestick is a solid 4 starss projector imho.
