Love this and my little dog too, everything perfect except I’m 6″2 and the handle is made for someone short like more likely fit someone 5″4 but I’m going to try and bend them 5 stars for a cheap petrol mower very pleased .
Just 1 problem, the nut and bolt to attach the starter pull to the handle was missing, I read this in other reviews. I know its not a big thing but the little things make a big difference! Saves you having to bend down every time when you want to re-start it, also the tendency then is to pull it harder than needed.
Tried to contact Yard Force through the Amazon link but it doesn’t work, hopefully someone from Yard Force will read this review and send me what Im missing!
Good quality, cheap, small mower. Briggs & Stratton engine is reliable and repairable. very easy to assemble. Push bar height is good, I am just over 6.00′ tall. Easy single lever adjustment. Nothing to criticise for the price
Quickly got setup and running. Fixing to hold recoild handle had no fixing supplied so had to bodge with nut and bolt. Strangely the parts list in the manual, does not even show a fixing supplied, and no real instruction on how to fit that part. Apart from that all good at the moment.
I have only used the once so my experience is limited. Saying that I found the mower to be very easy. Lighter than my previous, started on the second pull. Then started first time there after. I cut longer, damp in places grass on the middle height and it coped very well. Bag holds a lot. My one complaint is that on detaching the bag to empty, I lost a fair bit of the cutting. Straight forward to assemble, except for the cord holder. Now to put some miles on it.
Easy to assemble, easy to use,4 stroke, only small niggle, the handle is abit low,but not really a problem
Been using over a year now used 5 days a week never had a problem
Previously had a qualcast petrol mower which I had for years and years but now smokes a lot and cuts out even after service etc, so sadly had to “upgrade” and amazing lawnmower. The mower arrived and only had to attach the handle, this mower seems to be pretty much a like for like swap for my old mower, thus far does the job but time will tell how it stands up, but with the Briggs engine I don’t expect any problems with its reliability
Very good value for cost. Easy to pull and just goes along nicely
Easy to put together and use, reasonably light and does a good job – recommend
I cut the grass in various gardens and this mower is ideal for the job. The handle folds easily to fit in my car. Easy to start and operate
Good lawnmower that works well once I can get it started, tackles the lawns well. Robust and handsome, easy to adjust height and manoeuvrable . Bag on small side. Great price and happy with purchase. Will work on starting it!
The mower was easy to assemble although the instructions covered several models so could be confusing at times. Easy to use but I didn’t like the fact that every time you release the bar the engine stops. So after every time you want to empty the grass collector you have to restart the engine (hence one star reduction). Apart from that little annoyance it’s a great little mower.
Good little mower with decent power. Will handle long grass and collection box is good size. I have a large garden and has no trouble dealing with it.
It was easy to assemble, you had to flick from page to page, I only assembled it yesterday, would be nice if the pictures was cleared and large enough to see what goes where, only brought it because it has a Briggs and Stratton engine, it good. Use it on the allotment to cut the grass back between the beds
This was better than I expected but well worth i
Love this mower. It was easy to assemble and started first time after filling with petrol and oil. My grass had grown a little long and it was damp when I gave it it’s first cut, but it handled the job fine and my lawn looked very neat when I’d finished.
Light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Starts very easily, minimal effort required. In my opinion would be suitable for medium sized garden.
I was finding it difficult finding a well priced, lightweight motor with a decent engine and nearly gave up intending to buy a cheap chinese motor model from screwfix until I saw this.
It very easy to put together and very simple to operate with just a single fuel primer you push a few times when starting from cold followed by the usual pull cord mechanism.
Starts on 2nd pull usually and takes a few seconds to warm up to smooth operation – but there is no manual choke or throttle lever or anything – just start and go.
Its a very very light motor and cuts cleanly and nice and low which is a bonus also for a well priced mowe
Easy to assemble and use, started first time. Lightweight and quite quiet for a petrol mower.
The machine cuts well and is light to manoeuvre. However the handle height only reaches 89cm from ground level., which means if you are taller than 5ft 8 or so , you would be pushing the lawnmower with your finger tips! My husband is 6ft 2 and has to bend awkwardly to push it. We did contact the manufacturer/seller and disappointingly, after many photos and emails, we had no response. I think that if our machine is not unusual in this feature, it should be mentioned in the description and there should be a rethink on the design for the height of the handle.
This is a petrol-driven model that offers good manoeuvrability, and genuine all-round excellent performance at this price range.
It’s easy that maintain, and has served me well for two years whenever I’ve been pressed into action.
I have gone back to using petrol lawn mower ,l am really pleased with the adjustable cutting height and the appearance of my lawn after it’s been mowed.only downfall in my opinion is the grass collection box could be more sturdy and slightly larger ,otherwise would give 10/10.
Good mower for price. Very basic but does the job.
Good light weight mower. Easy to use. Good close cut.
This is a great little lawnmower that is ideal for small to medium sized lawns.
It’s a light self propelled unit that most people should be able to use.
The big benefits are the B&S engine and single lever height adjustment.
It cuts well, performs well and based on the purchase price, I can’t complain!
I don’t know what my husband is doing in the shed, but I’m sure it’s something to do with the new lawn mower. Easy to use and manageable.
Lovely mower cuts brilliantly, slight problem with cutting out but it was a very hot day thinking it could be due to that, next cut will tell me better.
ot very powerful ok for small garden i broke the blade when it hit a stone phoned uk headquarters for info to buy new blade didn’t help at all said none available.u/s. found 40 CM lawn mower blade fits Einhell, B&Q OPP TR517 FPLMP99 2015 model + WARRANTY on ebay 17.00 ,so much for customer service more like take your money and ru
For what it costs it’s excellent value. Cuts to good standard and the bag holds a fair amount of grass. The economy is brilliant, I get roughly 400m2 to 500m2 to a tank which deepening on length of grass. Light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Perhaps a bit noisy but it’s a petrol mower, use ear plugs or defenders!
My old 40 Cm petrol mower died after 15 years service, and wanted something similar for a not enormous garden.
Got this with 20 off voucher making it cheaper than anything else on the market.
Came well packaged, and easy to assemble – this one has 7 height settings (says 5 on the box)
Added oil (500ml) and petrol as recommended, started first time with no problems at all.
Cuts well, and simple to manoeuvre
Small negatives? Not any quieter than the 15 year old one, but not enormously noisy – all steel construction is a bit noisy as you push it around. Neither matters – this is an absolute bargain at this price.
Early days, but very pleased with this mower. Delivered on time, easy to assemble and cuts and starts very well. Lowest setting doesn’t give a particularly short cut though. Very good value for money on the face of it, time will tell if it’s durable. I’ve spent over 150 this year on my old Atco, should have just bought this and saved myself a lot of grief!
Edit. Depth of cut is very poor even on it’s lowest setting. I find it almost impossible to actually see where I’ve mown. I like to cut a lawn short so decided to lower the blade which is easy to do by adding a few washers to the blade retaining bolt. This did the trick but also illustrated how low powered the engine is with it stalling on longer grass patches. Easily remedied though by simply lifting the adjustment lever and then going over it again at the new lower setting. At least I can see where I’ve mown now!
Really easy to start and quite light to manoeuvre. This is a great lawnmower, really well made with a quality feel to it. It handles all my grass easily, even when it’s a bit long and wet.
This is a well made product, having been in the horticultural industry.well made with Steel deck and best of all Brigg’s and Stratton engine.easy to assemble and starts first time.7 cutting heights would recommend, arrived next day.grea
Easy to assemble Starts first time every time Good size for a medium sized garden Not too heavy
Good product delivered on time and well worth the money
Well packaged and very easy to assemble. The only thing to remember is that it requires fuel and oil prior to startup so if is not straight out of the box and use immediately.
I have used it twice so far and been impressed with instant start and easy removal of grass cuttings in fabric collector “box”. Tend best bit is the quick fold up handle and compact storage of the mower.
Great value for money mower.
Was delivered without lower handleb ut eventually sorted- machine itself is brill
Grass cutting made easier than with a hover mower
Slightly small grass collector
Easy to adjust the height and so far starts first time every time
Should give years of service with a Briggs and Stratton engine on board
This is a great little mower for small gardens, it has an easy to start B&S engine, easy to raise and lower the height, well built, couldn’t ask for more.
Easy to assemble and cutting hight ready to adjust. Would be better if it had a larger collection box
Great little machine, easy to use and very definitely does the grass cutting well
Used it only 3x, but on a heavy grown lawn, very high and it cut through it like a hot knife through butter! I also found it very easy to manoeuvre! Extremely easy to use, quite easy to build out of the box.
Started first time everytime, looks good feels sturdy, hoping for many years of surface!
Starts virtually first time, every time.Tackled wet, foot long grass with little complaint.Easy manouvrability.Just remember to buy oil as supplied dry.
So far so good, easy to assemble it cut well and easy to push around. But it’s seem to vibrate more than my old one so that why l given four star.
But over all its not bad from the money
Love this mower, although fitting the grass box is a challenge. Otherwise faultless, easy to assemble and started first pull!
Clear instructions on assembly process simple to operate, appears to do a good cutting job on my lawn.
I bought this machine for my son to use in my garden and so far it is running well and he is pleased with its performance. I had a problem trying to set up the extended guarantee on the Internet and would have preferred a postal application.
I had really long grass after moving into a house finally, this breezed through the challenge. Easy to set up and height adjustment is simple. fully recommend!
Great service and product very pleased with the mower would recommend highly, easy to follow instructions overall great!!!
Arrived exactly as quoted. Engine started at second pull of starter cord, very easy and so much better than previous mower. Very good manoeuvrability and good cut. Very pleased with purchase. Excellent mower.
Product is exactly right for me and our medium sized garden: well built; not much to go wrong; not too big/heavy (or small); easy to assemble; good instructions; helpful youtube video; excellent VFM; so easy to start; a good choice indeed after 2 minutes I knew I had bought the right machine. My last mower (Rover with Briggs/Stratton engine) lasted 23 years and I sense this one will see me out. I had reservations about 41cm size (as being slightly small) but it really just means up and down once more! I prefer the slightly smaller size because its more manageable. Just did first cut, slightly damp evening and it did it with ease. My last mower was struggling the last couple of years, so this has been a real pleasure. It does exactly what we want it for and a fair price for good quality.
This is a super little mower. It is recommended for small gardens up to 400 square metres. I have a couple of separate lawn areas which are within that surface area and this mower made light work of them, even though the grass had got away from me a little and grown too long.
It has a lovely little Brigg and Stratton engine. I have had Briggs and Stratton engines before and found them to be excellent. Hardly ever causing a problem. This one is primed by pressing the bulb slowly three times and then it starts on the first pull of the cord.
I was a touch concerned that this was a push model (i.e. not self propelled), but that is a bit swings and roundabouts. If it were self propelled it would be heavier and more difficult to manoeuvre in tight spaces. As it is I found it light enough to be able to push comfortably and manoeuvre around trees and floor beds with ease.
Reasonable sized grass box and a sensible price point.
All in all great value.
Got to say for the price this has to be one of the best.
I love it, tackles both long and short grass with no effort. Only wished I had bought it sooner. Easy to set up and cuts my lawns really well. Doesn’t seem to use much fuel and its very light compared to my old Qualcast lawn mower.
Very well built and seems a lot more expensive than it actually is. Highly recommend
This mower is small but powerful, Briggs & Stratton engine does the job. It’s not the first petrol mower I own, but the first time I feel that for not too much money I get my garden done to look perfect. I would really recommend the product.
I decided to buy this mower after a friend recommended it and I have to say I am so pleased that I did. It cut my lawn in half the time compared to my old electric mower (got so fed up with dragging a cord around). This Yardforce mower seems so well designed and robust, started with one pull and it’s so easy to manoeuvre around my flower beds. My husband was well impressed with me, as I had never used a petrol mower before. Well worth the money.
