    I brought a camera system around 1yr ago but the programming kept going wrong and no matter what I was sent by email by the support team it didn’t remedy it ….but thanks to a great customer service person called Aimee that has emailed back and forth and been my one point of contact instead of me being passed around and having to explain everything over and over, Aimee sorted out everything and now I can happily say that I am very pleased received my new dvr today and very happy with it so thank you very much Aimee great customer support / care.

    Very happy with this product. Takes some work to get all the lines ran, but overall looks great! I use (2) 32-inch tvs…1 upstairs in bedroom and 1 downstairs in the family room, splicing them together via HDMI cable. FYI, I believe the police can turn off your security system if they need to. The other night I thought I seen a police vehicle drive by. The time was 8:15pm. I checked the dvr the next day and it was a police car and they stopped in front of our house. When watching the playback, it went black said “no user data,” but never turned off the tv screen that night! So, they might be able to jam your system, especially if you had to get a permit to register a security system with your local police.

    Between shady neighbors and the risk of porch pirates, I didn’t want to take any chances and finally decided it was time to get a camera system for the house. I had a wireless camera system years ago and the quality/reception was very hit or miss. Wireless always confounded me because unless you get a battery-operated set, you still end up running power wiring. This set up is far superior. The DVR is up in the 2nd floor master bedroom and I used only 3 of the cameras instead of the total 4 it comes with. I ran the cabling out to two cameras on the front of the house and one camera in the back. I connected two of the BNC/power cables together to make a single 120 foot long cable for the backyard camera and it works just fine. I’ll be curious to see how well everything holds up after a winter, but I have high hopes.

    Estas cmaras son difciles de instalar, no por que su instalacin resulte difcil, sino porque es difcil seleccionar dnde colocarlas. La imagen es excelente, se pueden cubrir reas muy grandes, se pueden colocar en prcticamente cualquier angulo que uno desee (esta es la parte difcil) e incluso graban en la obscuridad. Son tan buenas cmaras que incluso compr dos juegos ms para poder tener ms seguridad en mi hogar. El DVR incluye un disco duro de 2TB, lo que es suficientemente grande para grabar por meses sin tener que borrarlo en su totalidad; adems se puede conectar a tu internet por si tenemosque salir (aunque no creo que esto sea posible en estas condiciones). El DVR permite conectar otras 4 cmaras, tomar fotos, mandar archivos a una memoria USB y est en espaol, ideal por si tenemos dudas en su manejo.

    I recently purchased this system a few weeks ago. Once I got everything installed, I watched a few instructional videos from Zosi to help me understand it better. I noticed that my system didn’t have some of the same features as the one in the video. I went to their Facebook page for support. Zosi’s support office is 12 hours ahead of me, but with in 6 hours of me sending them a message they walked me thru step by step on how to update my system. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants peace of mind. The mobile app is very useful also and easy to set up. When ever their is motion on one of my camera’s I get a notification. The best feature I think so far is the snap feature. When motion is detected it takes a picture of what triggered the camera. That saves a lot of time review hours of video recordings.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThere’s not really much to be said about these security cameras. They went up fairly easily, we hit some buttons and they work very well. We had some of them wear out over a couple of years but that’s more the natural attrition of electronics products. Are they the clearest pictures of all time? No, but you will get clear pictures at 4, 8, 12 areashow ever many cameras that you want to put up. One of the things that can get complicated is figuring out how to get the footage off the DVR portion of the system. My mom ends up going through hours of footage frame by frame minute by minute before getting where she wants to be. But this just could be my moms discomfort with technology as opposed to product functionality. A good solid basic product if you need some security cameras up around your house.

    Purchased this item in may 2020. And was surprised to find it was very easy to install. Customer service was 100% we had a power cut a couple of days ago and the system wouldn’t go back on due to a fault in the power plug. I contacted zosi / rainbow and they were more than helpful even sent out a new power plug free of charge

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice system. The reason why I’m giving it four stars is because of instructions. The instructions are very basic and vague. Me and my husband had to Google and YouTube how to work the motion sensor settings. The sensitivity settings from 1 to 8 are backwards from what you would think. Also the gridded area is the area that will be detected. Overall it’s been very confusing. After about four days I think we finally have it figured out. On Zosi’s website, you can actually submit a ticket if you’re having any problems. And they have a lot of detailed instructions on YouTube as to how to work things within the system.

    Update: About 1 month later one of the cameras went bad. When viewing the video footage the screen looked like it had a green/yellow tint to it. It also started coding video loss and wouldn’t work at all. I contacted customer support and spoke with Amiee. We emailed back and forth about 4 days and she was able to mail me a new camera at no charge to me.

    This cctv system works well, although I had a bit of trouble with first box as we had a power cut and stopped working, contacted zosi who were very helpful, they sent me a link for firmware upgrade which unfortunately didn’t work, so I had to send box back bit of an inconvenience due to lock down, however they refunded postage promptly and got new box within the time they indicated it would take, all in all very happy with product and service received, well done zosi

    We got the system for an elderly relative living alone and who was being talked out of money by unscrupulous people. It was such a delight to see their faces when they realised they were being recorded when we used the playback function and they have not been back since. The quality of the picture is good and the fact that it is recording on a ongoing basis means you can check what is happened in the past, while the remote access over the internet is something that is very important. The hardware arrived well packed and feel good quality in the hand and the installation is quite simple, just connect up the wires. However, adjusting the system to your particular preferences is quite complicated for a non-techie and there have been some difficulties with the software. In those instances, contact with Zosi Support is by email and very efficient and their technician, Coco, is very helpful and resolves issues. After a couple of months, we installed a second system in our own house.

    Golden Review Award: 57 From Our UsersI am highly privacy driven both in public and in cyberspace. The system works great. The interface is pretty easy to use. Great 1080p picture. Great night vision. I went with hardwired cameras due to their lack of vulnerability to cyber threats. However, the DVR does have an ethernet connection and there is an app you can use to monitor the system. I will continue exploring the cyber vulnerabilities of this system to ensure it does not sell info or footage to a third party. The only gripe I have is that the motion detection is pretty touchy, even at the lowest sensitivity level. One bug flying in front of it and I’ll get a notice. I also noticed that if a car drives fast enough in front of my residence, I still get a motion detection notice even though I have removed that area from my camera’s detection grid. For the money, I can’t complain. Better than paying ADT $40/month to tell me my dog tripped the alarm. Be prepared for a hard day in the attic or crawl space to install, that’s the price you pay for hardwired systems.

    Tech support is amazing. I’ve had to contact them a few steps to walk me through setup, and password resets. They have only been wonderful and helpful.

    Overall, the product works. I haven’t had issues using the app and staying connected. I wish they would update the software to be more aesthetically appealing, but it gets the job done. I’m still playing around and trying to figure out how to get the mic to work. However, video quality is great and the equipment functions properly. Motion sensor is super sensitive so it does go off when the tree moves. I don’t have experience with other motion sensors to know if this is good or not. However, like I said it gets the job done. If there’s movement, I am notified.

    So overall, I do like this product.

I feel like they keep my family safe without sacrificing our privacy (all your data is contained on a DVR instead of the cloud). We’ve caught a kid sugaring our neighbor’s gas tank, the neighbor girl sneaking out, and got to watch the baby raccoons playing on our trash cans.

    The shaking in the attached video is me recording on my phone- the actual camera/video is stationary. It will give you an idea of the night capabilities and watch to the very end to see the cutest raccoon!

The only issues I have is the ptz system is a bit more fiddly than others and also it could really do with a wifi module to add ip cameras to the system as well hard wired

    Worked as advertised in hindsight I would have liked to have gotten the wireless with rechargeable internal batteries you don’t have to crawl through the attic or cellar but it worked as intended customer support was helpful instructions were easy to follow……update!/! One of the cameras stopped working at night. Did a little troubleshooting with tech thru emails. Was unable to fix, they sent a new camera in just a few days, easy swap, works fine again. I am not disappointed with the system. I’m sure some people have real problems, I have a lot of experience with this sort of thing. This is sort of a raw piece of hardware if you have little or no experience and this sort of stuff then you probably ought to hire somebody to install it and when you have a problem with it they have a tech service it that’s why these systems typically cost 1000 or more an upscale homes and offices.

    Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersPurchased Dec, 2017. After a couple of months the system was installed the fan started to make a weird noise and eventually failed. Called up the customer service but got no help as i was already out of warranty. So I replaced the fan, and the systems is back online again this was around August of 2018. Sept of 2019 we notice that it is shutting down by itself and then started back up again, it happens numerous times in a day. I checked the system for any sign of malfunction or burnt smell…. nothing. It works, but is restarting so many times in a day. I even went to format the hard drive thinking that because of a full hard-drive is the one causing the restart or crashing. Nope still the same, so i unplug the LAN connection and i noticed it stops rebooting.

    I contacted ZOSI techsupport because i can no longer login into the system, and I’ve got several emails with instructions what to do to no avail.
    I communicated back that the procedures they ask me to do was not working, i got another reply this time from DORIS with instruction to upgrade my system with provided links what to do and it finally works.

    I recommend this ZOSI. It is less expensive, easy to install, with a great team

    This is the second one of these systems we have purchased. Bought one for our house back in August 2017 and it’s still going strong without any issues. We have been so happy with ours that when my elderly mother needed a cctv system we bought her a slightly smaller version of ours. She is really happy with it, it was easy to install, has good picture quality and is easy to operate. I am happy to recommend this system and if I was to purchase more cameras or another system, this would be my first port of call. It comes really well packaged too.

    Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThe 1080P clarity is the biggest difference between this security system and the one I replaced which was only 720P. Having universal video cables, I did not have to replace the old ones which were still in good condition and securely fastened to ceiling, walls, and treaded though other tight paths. The night vision is equally clear so I’m very pleased with this purchase.
    BUT do not expect to use its advertised wifi feature to see the camera views. The instructions in the owner’s manual are deceptively simplified and basically useless. I could not get the camera views on my Mac when following the owner’s manual so I contacted Zosi support. They asked me so many technical questions about the DVR and router numbers and settings using acronyms totally outside the knowledge of us non-savvy users. Our emails over two days got me nowhere as there is a language barrier, in addition to the technical jargon, hindering communication. It’s obvious the wifi feature is underdeveloped that it requires technical knowledge to make it work, if it does at all. Even Zosi’s device app in the AppStore does not work.

    I decided to write a review. For the money I think this product is well worth it. I had one bad camera and they replaced it quickly without a problem.

    It does require some maneuvering around in the attic to get set up. I also bought some extra cables that were a bit longer. Don’t skimp on the quality of these or your video quality will degrade. We have had temps -29F here in Minnesota and these cameras have worked great without incident. No fogging, condensation or failure of any kind.

    Wi-fi set up could be a bit easier. Not quite plug-and-play but don’t need to take any classes either.

    Pictures show night and day images from my phone that I can see from anywhere verizon has a tower.

    Again, great for the money, would buy again.

    Additional 5/7/19: I see reviews commenting on the motion detection. Very sensitive and yet also works intermittently. Set it to record all the time NOT after detecting motion. The If you have the 1 TB DVR it will record several days in a loop.

    Additional: After using these for a few years I thought I would add to this review.

    A year or so into this my cameras stopped working after a bit of trial and error I found the power cord to the cameras was faulty. Found a “not quite matching” cord laying around the house and that seemed to work just fine. fast forward another year or so and night vision on all cameras and the camera with the longest video cable stopped working. Thought maybe 2 years was as long as night vision lights worked as none were coming on. Bought 4 new cameras and those ir night vision lights did work either. Contacted Zosi and they do try to help. You need to wait a day or so due to night/day differences. Something also lost in translation. They had no more help than the 7 fixes on their website and owners manual.

    Got to thinking about that cord I replaced about a year earlier. Bought a new OEM cord and the system again works great. If you have night vision or long cable issues check you cameras power supply.

    Quite happy with this product. Does everything it’s suppose to (except motion detection, just turn it off). The hard drive occasionally makes noise if it restarts like when the power goes out but at this price can have a spare. NO MONTHLY OR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. YAY!

    I needed help from the customer service to get this started online. The easy part was mounting the cameras. The writing in the instruction booklet was very small so had to follow some instructions online which actually misled me. Hence having to contact customer service. Ayami was very patient with me and helped me to view the cameras from my phone. I just need to do some finishing touches now so the cameras can notify me of any movement when I’m away from the house.     The cameras and system are of high quality. The DVR and cameras work great. BUT, the ZOSI Smart App does NOT WORK! As soon as you install the app, add the system to the app – CRASH goes the system immediately, and it reboots itself within 1 to 2 minutes. Once the DVR restarts, if the app is still open, again it will happen. If you close the app, it works great until you open the app – down it goes. I tried emailing the Zosi people, and used the help of an Amazon Tech guy who had me try using the 365secu app which did not recognize the device, and uninstall and reinstall the ZOSI smart app which the same thing just happened again. Back to Amazon it goes – going to get the Night Owl system which is nearly identical to this one, but the app works great. (My husbands parents have one and my husband installed it for them a few months back – still working great with no problems).

    Great bit of kit. Easy to install (I already had an idea where I was going to be positioning my cameras, dvr, wires ect). Plug and play. Camera quality is superb. App support is a great feature. A bit fiddly to set up sensitivity and email notifications but got there in the end. Immediate tech support. All in all very impressed. Expandable too up to 8 cameras!     This took time to install because of the running the cables through the house and inside the walls, as it’s currently a building site. Once I’d worked out where to fix the first camera, the rest were straight forward. The cables were a big thing for me. I had plenty of slack leftover at the end, and the plug and play was great. It worked from the off. No messing about. The camera is clear in the day. I haven’t fully tested the night vision with someone walking around yet. The place looks very dark on the screen, so I might place some lights outside to bolster the quality. But for the money, this kit provided everything I needed. I only had to add a monitor and router. It’s that simple.

    I can’t believe that for around 150 dollars I have this four camera (expandable to eight!!!) system that produces great visibility day and night!!!
    I have used several very expensive (don’t know how many thousands of dollars they cost) for work around rockets (that’s another story!) and I get just as good quality of pictures!

    I must first tell that upon receiving the system I was impressed with the packaging; very nicely stored equipment well packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes. Everything thing easily inventoried then setup!

    At this time I have three of these well built cameras mounted, after bench testing the system. My son, as I type, is drilling through our stucco wall to mount a wooden base for the fourth camera.

    With the ZOSI Smart app you can look at your pictures (the live video feed) from anywhere in the world where there is internet access. As I am new to this I haven’t had a chance to explore all the capabilities of the software which brings me to the cake and eating it too!!!

    ZOSI SUPPOTT IS AMAZING!!!

    Not only will they take care of the hardware with a great warranty the support is like that of a “mom and pop” shop!!! They CARE about helping the customer!

    When originally setting up my software (I know just enough to get into trouble!) I was “fat fingering” characters (adding extra keystrokes) getting the wrong apps (I loaded everything that said ZOSI on it) and got lost!

    CUSTOMER SERVICE TO THE RESCUE!!!

    I was helped tremendously by “Helly” in the service department. As they are halfway around the world we started chatting through email that in many cases laid out a step by step list of instructions getting me out of the deep hole I dug! (Remember, I know just enough to get into trouble!!!

    I have to say THANK YOU HELLY!!!. You did a great job rescuing me!

    The Superior personal service allowing me to get going is that icing on my second cake!!!

    When money allows me (I’m retired and on a tight budget) I will get the ZOSI pack that will give me four more clear pictured cameras
    Just don’t know where I’ll put them yet!

    Price is brilliant, nice cctv kit, cameras made in plastic not in steel hopefully will last, but definitely never rust. Cameras at day is good, but at night very poor. Will change cameras to better ones. Dvr recorder is one of the best, but fan is little bit noisy. Customer service is best on Amazon top class! I did changed from 5 to 4 stars, because cameras are very poor at night.

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo, this is one of many systems I have bought and installed in my many years . What you will receive is a high quality DVR, with four very good cameras and the hardware to get it all connected. The DVR performs excellently. My old ZModo system looked great on the camera, but playback was one third the resolution, this one looks live during playback. This all sounds great, but there is always a downside, the downside in this case is the total lack of instructions. there are steps that are totally left out of the leaflet of instructions, and intuitive this is NOT. You will NEED and Android/Apple phone to install it. Set up the cameras, connect, and power up the DVR. Before you can do ANYTHING, you need the username and password. Again, no instructions on this step. Download an app called SPD to your Android/Apple phone. Open the app, scan the the
    qr code on the DVR, or the QR code that appears on the monitors screen when you try to access the DVR Menu. This will give you the “Super Password” for the DVR. Leave the username as “admin” and the password is LONG and case sensitive. You can now set the DVR up… Again, nowhere is this evident. (You may think … ahah!, go to the website!… Well, it does explain the steps, but the “translation” is not at all clear. (It also has apps that are outdated that will confuse the situation, “Zosi view” for example, is obsolete, but still posted). Now, you should have access to the DVR menu, so you can connect it to your router. There will be a screen on the website to set the online viewer up. there will be an area that shows you to activate the “cloud viewer” … my software didn’t even have this, but when I checked my internet connection, it came back as ok, and it was good. Do NOT install the “Zosi View” app as previously mentioned, install “Zosi Smart” app and check the website to figure out how to get the QR code displayed on your monitor from your DVR to again use the SPD app to scan the info for another super password. log in and you should be good to export the DVR info to the phone app. To view the DVR on a Windows PC was tricky, (The software had to be downloaded in three parts, so you know you have downloaded the correct “Active” link) … but the good part is the IT support staff @ Zosi is dedicated, professional, and willing to help. There is NO phone support, use Facebook messenger. This worked out great for me, but be aware, in the US, in the Northeast, their hours of operation translates to 9:00PM to 5:00AM. If you download the “Teamviewer” program, (It’s got a free version) The good old team @ Zosi can remotely operate your PC and set it up for you. These instructions will make your installation MUCH easier and less frustrating, enabling you to purchase this system, install most of it, and enjoy the fact that it operates very nicely, especially for the price. Again, Kudos to the support team @
    Zosi, they save the the day! 😀
    This system is very nice, I DO recommend it, use Facebook messenger for help, be patient, and you will end up with a very nice system, at a great price point.

    Great system I’ve never set a cctv system up before so was completely new to this , however it’s very straight forward and easy to do , I did have to set the dvr up on a monitor to enable me to access the menu so that I could change the resolution in order for my hdmi lead to pick up the signal the default setting when new is to low , this took about 2mins to complete and the system works great , the after sales team are fantastically helpful and will always respond to your e mails , thanks again to Crystal .

    I was on the hunt for a security camera system. After doing some research I decided I didn’t want to use a cloud based service that would cost me a monthly operating fee. I then looked at the big box stores, but I elected to try the ZOSI DVR wired camera system. Best value and cost by far.

    I installed the system without any problems. One could just hook it up and it automatically starts recording, or you can use many other useful features. My mom probably could have just plugged it in to record without any reading… if you want other features, some degree of technical abilities is needed.

    Points to know:
    1. I created a gmail account just for this and set security on my gmail to low so that the ZOSI dvr was able to use the outgoing mail server without any issues. I could then make settings on the DVR to email me alerts when motion is detected.
    2. I didn’t use a PC to program, but rather the included mouse. It’s easy. One can then look at a frame and select where in the frame to look for motion and set the sensitivity. This is useful if a frame has trees blowing and cars going by, but you only want an alert if a gate opens.
    3. I downloaded the ZOSI app for my iPhone and I initially couldn’t get it to work. I emailed their tech support and they were fast and helpful. The manual is not well written and the tech support by email required me to think a bit differently. I sent screen shots and they texted back, “Please use zosi smart app on your phone, your DVR’s network is okay,And the e-mail issue, the smtp server is smtp.gmail.complease refer to the below link” I was initially thinking… “don’t they see I did use the ZOSI app? But then I thought to look and there is more than one app… and there is one called, “ZOSI smart” I had ZOSI view. So get the right one! And I quickly said to myself… that’s how I set up the email… but I wrote “google” and not “gmail”. It was easy once I corrected my mistakes. Thank you ZOSI support.
    4. Lots of options for cameras and DVRs. I have a guest house and a front house. Small city lot, but still further than the 65′ of run for the camera cable. I ended up buying 2 different ZOSI systems. Both are great. The cost is great. The app registers the devices and I can monitor from my iPhone.
    5. In trying to solve some email issues before contacting their support, I read some posts on setting up port forwarding on your router. Don’t worry… it wasn’t needed. This isn’t as complicated as I was thinking!

    So in the end, I was able to install 2 systems with 6 cameras and my property is covered! All for much cheaper than a monthly fee based service.

    Great system and great value. Easy to install

I plugged it all together and put cdmi cable to monitor to make sure it all worked beforehand, It did. so I have now completely installed it which took about half a day.
    I must say the cameras are a better quality than the expensive swann system that it replaced so overall I am very happy and would recommend this item and for the price I feel is excellent value.
    However I did have a lot of fiddling about trying to get it to connect to the app, at first I could not do it but after contacting zosi I was helped by a very friendly and helpful Lucy who was determined to help me and she did as promised so thank you zosi and thank you Lucy.

I did a lot of searching through reviews before buying this system because of all the horror stories I had heard about connection issues and complex installation. I found this system very easy to install, the hardest part being the routing of the cables.

    We have a very large property in France and I found that I had to buy extra cable for two of the very remote cameras (more than 30m from the DVR) but the price of this from Amazon was not excessive. There are sockets on the DVR for another 4 cameras (8 in total) so it is up-gradable in the future which is a big plus for me. The installed 1Tb hard drive is ample for my use but this could always be easily up-graded as well. I have set mine to overwrite when it is full. With 2 cameras working (at the moment) I expect to get at least a month of recording before it is full.

    The app on my Samsung phone works well but is a little slow. I will use the provided program (ZOSI View) on my Windows 10 pad when we are away from home as it is much faster.

    All in all an excellent purchase highly recommended.

The first two were purchased for a business over a year ago and all cameras are still in great working condition. I have a set of four inside the business and other 4 set outside. I have been so happy with these cameras, I decided to buy another set for the house. This time only 3 cameras of the 4 were in working conditions. It had only been installed for 60 days when another camera had stopped working all together. I was highly upset and disappointed at quality of this set of cameras. However, once customer service was involved, they were extremely helpful and sent two replacement cameras. They have been installed for a week. So far so good. I know if any issue arises, customer service will be able to help. I am a satisfied ongoing customer and planning on buying another set for my parents house. I love that I can view all locations from one device.

    Great quality for a such a low price. All seems to be working great i’ve upgraded the firmware and forwarded ports 80, 5000, 5001(not sure if these are needed) to the DVR IP. I can view the cameras remotely fine with the android app. Installation is very straight forward, make a hole, plug the wires together and mount the camera.

    8/25/17 update: system working as advertised since firmware update.

    6/30/17 update: updated firmware. Process went smoothly. Still testing and monitoring. Other than these system bugs, cameras are clear, good night vision, remote viewing using Zosi View provides clear monitoring, Today I took system offline until sheetrockers are done and I can rerun the camera wires. Another bump on the rating.

    6/26/17 update: I have to bump the rating up to two stars. Got a prompt response from Zosi support. Have not tried their suggestion to check if firmware was up to date yet, But I will advise when I do and change rating as applicable.

    6/25/17 Several issues with my DVR. Have been using only for about four days. Each time, I had to unplug and restart to return it to proper function.

    1. Remote viewing via Zosi View has stopped two times. Each time, system appeared otherwise to be functioning normally from connected monitor. Just could not get cameras to connect on my home computer (wired connection), my IPhone, nor my Android devices.
    2. Mouse stopped working frequently. No way to change settings or control DVR when this happens.
    3. When attempting to play back, a couple of times it showed a message that there was nothing saved on disk.

    Also, I have been unable to get the email function to work. I set it up with the same email and smtp as I use successfully on another manufacturers device. When I click the test email button, I get a message that it could not connect to email.

    Positives:
    1. For 720p, the cameras look pretty good.
    2. Low price

It took a minute to get through everything, but it all works great now! The fix was an update that i had to put on a thumb drive, then restart the DVR to upload it. The customer service was actually really good overall. There was a delay in communication, but the replies were usually waiting for me when i woke up the next day. I’m changing my review from 3 to 5 stars. If anything changes in quality or usage, i will post another updated review.

    As of right now, I can see the feed from my cameras (and it looks great), but only on my TV. I was really excited to get these installed, but now its been more of a headache. I opened everything up to test it, but i didn’t have a cable to check on the tv yet, so i downloaded the view app. Everything looked good, so i went ahead and installed them onto the house. I continuously checked the cameras on my phone while i was making final adjustments to angles and whatnot, but when i went to actually hook it up for bigger display on my tv, everything stopped working on my phone/ipad. Now it won’t connect, saying ‘username/password invalid’ I hadn’t changed anything from the first day, and now i can’t make any adjustments or even hit record on the HD. The ONLY thing that it does now is show the feed on my TV, and thats live – not recorded.

    I emailed the company that night, and they did respond very fast, asking for detailed pics to help resolve the issue. I sent them pictures of what i saw on the tv and the app. I probably sent them too many, but i wanted them to see what i saw. That was yesterday morning, and I haven’t heard anything yet. I went online, and saw that actually lots of people were having that same issue, and there are about a million ‘fixes’, but nothing has worked yet.

    I will update my review with 5 stars if the company responds with a fix, or even if i just find one that works online.

I bought this to replace my previous system that died, I had four cameras already in place and thought this set would be good because it comes with four cameras that I can add to my setup, and it has 8 channels so I can monitor all 8 cameras. I took it out of the box, connected a monitor (not included – but it helps to have one), connected my cameras, network, and power. Everything came up just fine without any configuration (uses DHCP for the network out of the box). The cameras I had before worked fine.

    Now the not so good.

    The documentation is abysmal. Just enough to get started. Half the features are never explained. The website is of no help either.

    If you want to monitor the system from your computer, it will only work with Windows, IE, and ActiveX. Not good! This is very constraining – not all of us use Windows (I use Mac and Linux). I borrowed a Windows 7 laptop, opened the browser (IE) and went to the IP of the DVR. I couldn’t get IE to load the ActiveX. I tried on a Windows 7 desktop, and it finally worked once I removed all the ActiveX protections in IE Internet Options. Very poor security. Forget using Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

    The Secu365 app for the iPhone and iPad is OK, except I can only get it to display channels 1-4. It will not display channels 5-8, even though the app tries to connect. It never does – just spins and spins. Then crashes eventually. So I can only see half of my cameras unless I sit at the console monitor or find a Windows computer that runs ActiveX. This is only on my home network, as I don’t do port-forwarding for security reasons.

    The system works, but there are some serious limitations you need to know before going into it.

    UPDATE – I emailed ZOSI Tech Support about the app issue. They responded the next day and said I needed a firmware update, which they included as an attachment along with the update instructions. The instructions were clear and everything worked as it should. Now I can see all my cameras in the app. I can’t give it 5 stars though – not sure about 4 stars even, as there is nothing on the website about firmware upgrades; you have to ask. And the ActiveX issue is definitely a problem. But all-in-all, I am more satisfied with my purchase now.

    Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersI was skeptical about the price of this whole entire set but don’t I am glad I did!

    These cameras were very easy to setup and the quality is very good but there are some things you need to know before purchasing them.

    1. Web Interface

    The Web Interface ONLY works with IE. In order for this to work you need to go into IE’s settings for your zone and change ActiveX to Prompt for unsigned active X controls.

    I have had some crashing of the web interface but nothing unbearable. I do like the program that comes with the kit but just like anything else, it has a learning curve.

    2. Wires

    These are terminated wires. The size is very large so in order to run them to your DVR you will have to drill at least a 5/8″ hole to run these cables unless you can terminate yourself then that would make that part of the project easier.

    3. Motion Sensitivity

    It took me about a week to figure out the sensitivity of the motion detection. 1 is actually the highest sensitivity and 10 is the least. If I didn’t see that important fact on other review on amazon I would have still been fighting that part of the configuration.

    4. Mobile App

    I use the mobile app (secu365) and it is pretty straight forward to use. I do not have my cameras out on the internet. I set them up on a segregated VLAN that has no traffic out to the internet. I use VPN to access my system when necessary for security purposes.

    Overall, I am using these for home surveillance. They are great for that purpose. For the price you really can’t go wrong. The things mentioned above were just small obstacles I came across when working with this system so hopefully if you are reading this review you will benefit from the information I specified above.
