The software is easy to set up, and you can set up time triggers and/or geofencing.

Got this tracker device yesterday. It arrived with a sim card included. Use this sim but remember to put it in the correct way up e.g. chip side up with cut corner in first. I didn’t do this as I tried to use a GiffGaff sim and forgot the original device sim orientation. Needless to say that the only sim card I got to work was the one provided by the device. Also, if you put the sim in the wrong way around, the green operational light will flash but you can’t connect to the GPSLive servers which is both misleading and annoying. So, remember to put the sim in the right way up and hear/feel the click otherwise you’ll get lots of problems where things appear to work but don’t. Other than my user-errors, things have gone well since and the subscription is about the same price as the monthly GiffGaff sims anyway. Tech Support was excellent.

Bought this to replace the factory fitted one on my land rover. Whilst that unit was excellent the cost of the monitoring service was getting ridiculous – more than the entire vehicle insurance each year. This unit has greater functionality and better reporting. You don’t have to have it professionally installed but I did as I didn’t fancy cutting through fuel pump / starter motor wiring to enable remote engine turn off to take place. Cost me 100. If you don’t want remote immobilisation then you can just hard wire to the battery or easier still just stick it to a magnetic surface and rely on the unit’s internal battery, recharging as necessary. You do need to call your insurers though. Mine were ok with this device after I explained its functionality in detail but not all will be as it’s not security rated.
I have been running one of these units on my car for 4 years. I use stand alone and it isn’t hardwired in. A 4 hour charge will last a good 3 weeks of daily driving. You can customise alerts to your phone – movement, battery charge, speed etc, live tracking too, you pay an annual sub of 40 for the internal SIM and software licence, a small price to pay! You can also call rewire at any time for help. An excellent bit of kit for the price.
I definitely will be buying another Rewire tracker for my motorbike.
So easy to set up and the app is amazing to use.
I have a 12v socket in the boot of my car so I pulled all the lining out of my boot hid the device and the antennas in there and then wired it to the 12v socket behind so you couldn’t tell it would be there.
It’s never ran out of batter and it was recently stood for a month and a half on its own battery and the level still said 100% after been stood for so long.

My scooter got stolen and i managed to get it back because of this device.
The engine cut-off is not really that (not allowed in the UK for safety reasons) but just stops anyone restarting the vehicle again after it has already been turned off.
It has some physical design ‘flaws’ though – I would not like to use it under or outside of a vehicle for instance.
1. The strong magnetic backing might be a strong magnet – but it’s just a sheet of self adhesive magnet like the car sign people use – and it does not like sticking to the plastic unit.
2. The unit itself has no waterproof properties at all – especially if you use the supplied external GPS and GSM antennae.
3. A waterproof pouch is supplied – which is of good quality – unfortunately it is about 1″ too small and you really have to stretch it to fit it over the unit and get it to seal properly – this is because of the 2 moulded tabs on the unit for screwing it down if you wished to, making it too long, and of course – using the external antennae again renders it useless.
GPS Live on the PC is far too complex for most peoples needs, too many options are available for I imagine most users – ie the non commercial user who probably wants to know only if their pride and joy has been moved – and have the ability to find it again or see where it is going.
It needs a ‘simple’ interface or an option to switch between simple or advanced maybe.
The telephone app is far more intuitive – but you have to remember – if you set alarms or alerts or zones – that unless you disable them – should you move the vehicle or item yourself – you will get a text message telling you so – which is knocked off the quantity you paid for.
Having said all that – I am happy with mine, as I have got it set up so its flaws are not an issue.
Fantastic device! Does exactly what it says, plus the telephone support from Rewire Security has been excellent, not being very technical I called them a couple of times. I bought 2 last year, and had one fitted professionally permanently wired into my motorhome, it was stolen last night and I got an alert within seconds as it left the safety zone I set up online. I traced it’s progress, updating the police who quickly apprehended the culprit and recovered my motorhome undamaged, and already on false plates! I also have the other one hidden on my car, using the magnetic force and I only have to recharge it every 3 months or so. Great investment if you value your vehicle. I can see from my online account there’s the ability to monitor a whole fleet of vehicles for business use too.
Re-come t, i called them and they sirted it out in no time and it is uo and running oerfectly now, aparantely i inserted the sim wrong way round.

Best bit of kit I’ve had. Piece of mind of knowing where your car is at anytime. The cost of running is practically almost nothing other than your yearly subscription.
I call the company and they helped me to register the Device to the application. They were help full and the Device is working perfectl. Now I have eye on my vans Wherever on the road.

A fantastic device that required a bit of chasing up with the Rewire Security in order to properly configure it. If you are using your own sim card, you need to call up Rewire Security to register the sim card on their system so that the APN settings on their servers can keep in touch with the device without it crashing. Prior to doing this, my tracker was crashing a lot and I felt as though perhaps it wasn’t as good as the raving reviews said it was, but once configured, it works brilliantly.
Bought one then bought another the next day as it was very easy to set up, works as they should, would recommend.
Had three years has worked faultlessly ! Still have credit on 20 Lyca mobile top up card had mine hard wired In – never had any problems since installed
Does what it claims, it’s a good small unit with great features pop in your sim card and your good to go after a good charge that is. Magnet is very strong and the extra gps and cellular aerials for better reception as well as a hard wire kit so it will be self charging also. The app for tracking is good and reponsive and the list of commands easy to follow and quick to receive from the unit. Worth the money.
It is a small clip that plugs securely into the unit ….. Great until it needs to be removed !!
I had to use a set of twixzers to get it out without damaging the wires of the plug !
It fits in so tight that it’s so hard to remove the plug once it has been charged !!
But all in all it’s worth that small frustration! Great device for the cost .

Purchased this easy to fit comes with everything u need the app is very good battery lasted 8 weeks without wiring into the car loom. Beware u have to add 30 to your costs for subscriptions to GPS and sim card credit happy with this purchase
I made a mess of setting it up, one phone call to help desk got it sorted. Works with basic settings by sending notification whenever the car starts off and when it stops. Also when any stop for a few minutes on the journey. A must have for peace of mind.
Really impressed with this device. Feels solid, has all sorts of fitting options included in the box. For a really simple fit, charge it up, place it in the car using the built-in magnet. Lasts a month or more. Great value and very accurate.

I had my car stolen a few month’s ago and if I’d had this tracker then I would have known exactly where it was. Well worth the 10 per 6 month sim card. I got my son-in-law to install it as I know nothing about technology, but he say’s it was relatively easy.
Like most, I reviewed many trackers before committing to this one. Easy to set up and fix with straightforward instructions. Previous reviews have focused on the prices of the SIM and cloud tracking. I think these are both reasonable given the reassurance the device brings and the ease of access with the app. A must for valuable trailers given the insurance premiums being quoted. I am pleased with this purchase. Further more now having used it for a few months I am impressed by the after sales service and care-brilliant, proactive and helpful. In today’s ethos of “its not our problem”, these guys are exceptional.

It’s been a month since I bought this tracker. It’s really useful. The battery last around 1700 miles. By paying for the sim card 10 pounds you will be covered for three months. The free subscription on the gpslive website is only for 7 days, you have to pay 20 pounds for 12 months, which is fine, and if you want to receive notification ( text messages) on your mobile phone for when your car is moving, or when the battery for the tracker is low , then you have to pay 12 pounds for 48 text messages, or 20 pounds for 100 texts, is up to you. This is what I was looking for. This kit is just brilliant.
I am a tecnician instailing aftermarket products like Parking sensors and Cameras on used vehicles in South London and this is one of the best and economical product you could have on any vehicle. I bought this after looking into other far more expansion trackers with high motoring costs. This tracker is very effective , accurate gracki g of speed and location, defo highly recommend and will be buying 2.more for my.other cars, the app is simple to use, the sim callback costs 5p using giffgaffbut only need to ping it when car taken as the app allow free tracking at no extra cost. U pay 20 quid a year subs for the huge tracking and alerts.

A short journey was tracked accurately. I need to figure out where to locate the device more permanently although I won’t be hard-wiring it. I’ll see how long the battery and GG credits last. But the setup was painless and it looks like this was a good purchase.

The unit does everything as described (almost, it’s minimum refresh times are 10 seconds not 3).
Set up is fairly straightforward if you are tech savvy, especially as it’s good to go out the box, albeit with default settings.
Things to note… you have to contact customer service for your 1 year free subscription (very painless, uk based).
The app is good, but for full functionality when setting up – log on using a desktop. Many more configuration options available (eg configuring notifications).
One major flaw, on the mobile app if you are using this in the field – the map doesn’t scroll. So if you view the tracker position, as the tracker moves the map doesn’t. Pretty useless if you are trying to follow the tracker whilst driving at the same time – other brands have nailed this.
Oh the whole, brilliant product with some limitations for professional use.
This seems to be a substantial piece of kit. Solid and well made. The web site states that it works straight out of the box which suggested to me that I just top up the sim card and install in the car. However, there is a link to the website to download the manual. This runs to 32 pages! So not really plug and play. Got to about page 5 and was completely lost. Loads of codes to send via text that do lots of different things but doesn’t look like it can be remotely switched on and off. I don’t want it tracking me when I ‘m in the car. I just need something that is simple to switch on and off for example, at night or when I park somewhere away from home. I’m sure this would be OK for some people but not me.
I purchased this 4 weeks not much to say really. Awesome does everything it’s say briilliant. Great value and easy to use. Going to purchase a second one as so pleased.
It took me about 10 minutes to get it up and running with basic features and then about another half an hour to setup alerts.
I had an issue with the GPSLive Website where I couldn’t figure out how to setup a Geofence.
I emailed their support and within about half an hour, they came back with a response to the issue I was having

The battery in the tracker seems to last ages too, it’s been installed now for about a week and the battery seems to be lasting well. I was expecting it to only last about a week or two.
I would highly recommend this tracker as it’s easy to use, excellent customer service and most of all, peace of mind.
2 Year Update: Had this fitted to my car now for 2 years and it hasn’t let me down once.
My car had to go in for extensive repair to the front passenger side when I hit a curb.
The garage who repaired it decided to take it for a bit of a joy ride at 141 mph down the motorway.
Having this tracker fitted allowed me to catch them out.
They literally couldn’t argue when I presented them with the hard evidence on paper which I Printed from GPS Live
Other than possible theft recovery, It’s worth just having one fitted for the purpose of monitoring your vehicle when it goes in for repair or valet.

Delivery was super-efficient as always, as was the packaging – thank you Amazon! Set up was pretty easy too – I used my own giffgaff sim card rather than the one supplied. Setting up the tracker was done in less than 10mins – it’s really easy using either their website or app. I contacted Support to have the 1year free subscriptions activated – they responded within 24hrs.
I have not hardwired it and my cig.lighter is in an awkward place so will not use it. It does not come with USB charging (support explained why via email) so for now, I have just placed it in my car fully charged but may need to either hardwire at some point. Some buyers suggested charging it via a power bank but as you cannot charge it via USB, not sure how this will be done. For now, I’ll be charging it at home -after a week of use, the battery is still at 100%
Having placed the tracker in my car, I totally forgot it’s there the next day – only to be notified via email/app that a movement was detected – approx 2mins after I set off. I just love those notifications 🙂 may need to set up a separate email address dedicated purely for this as I am getting a lot of notifications in one trip but love the fact that you’re notified where your car is – you can also track it live via the app.
Cost-wise – it’s not the cheapest tracker but definitely a quality one and so far reliable. The annual subscription is currently offered at 20/year which is still worth it – hopefully it will still cost the same once my free 1year expires. On top of the subscription you’ll also have the sim/package cost – not sure how much this will be but planning 5/month. For this, you’ll have a peace of mind that your precious car/bike/relative … whoever/whatever… is protected and you know exactly where it is.
All in all, I am really glad I opted for this tracker – there are a lot of other features you can use e..g cut off the engine remotely, see how much fuel is left etc – but it works great pretty much right our of the box. 100% recommend

An excellent product, hardwired into my vehicle and very setup. Would be very simple to install without concealment but preferred the option of it being hidden. I made an error in registering for the GPS live and forgot to input my device serial number. Consequently I received an automated email asking me for payment, an email to customer service resolved this promptly with a quick response. So my view is that customer service is excellent.
GPSLive software is excellent and geofences were easy to set up.
One suggestion for the software would be the option to receive a call rather than a text if the vehicle moves during for a set up alert, most of us switch our phones to silent on an evening and this mutes texts.

Instead of driving around behind people I am tracking I use the magnet to attach to their vehicle to check where they are. Joking, I get a discount on my insurance for fitting a tracker. It also gives handy push notices if the driver is speeding.

I have used trackers for 2 years, this one is accurate and relatively simple to use but you need to heed the advice given in the box do that and its all secure and ready to go. The SIM comes partially configured all you have to do is register and part with 10.00 for PAYG. Well pleased compared to my other trackers. I will buy again for my other cars / assets.
It’s a great bit of kit when working.
I hard wired mine into the car so I could use the engine cut off facility via a text message.
The only thing I didn’t like was the instructions you download.
To activate text controls it says the default admin password is 13142324 when it is actually 123456.
After I figured this out everything worked perfectly.
The only other thing that wasn’t made very clear is that although you get access to GPSLive it wasn’t made clear that you have to purchase credit to send SMS commands to the tracker or recieve SMS notifications from it.

I guess this makes the tracker pretty flexible because you can either remember the text commands and use you’re phone credit or purchase extra GPSLive credits and use the app making it a little more expensive to run but easier to use.
If you are wanting to hard wire it you will need to know your way around a cars electrics otherwise it’s probably best to pay an auto electrician.
Overall it is still a fantastic bit of kit and well worth the investment.
It shouldn’t take long for it to pay for itself on cheaper insurance premiums.
Whilst my wife was on the phone to the police I made a call to the tracker which immediately came back with a location in a car park 3 miles away. These details were passed on directly to the police who were still on the phone and the car located within 5 minutes. The car has now been moved to a secure compound and will be returned to me after locks etc have been changed.
Without the tracker the car would probably have had false number plates and spirited away.
The police officers were delighted to have potential evidence and their enquiries are ongoing. There were also amazed at how such a system is available at such a reasonable cost.

However I have hardwired, if you are unfamiliar with how cars are put together, it’s probably best getting a professional to do the installation for you, but for a competent DIY’r/home mechanic it shouldn’t be a problem.

I didn’t use the supplied SIM card I used a gift gaff sim with a goody bag.
Haven’t used the text service at all I have t the need as using the app I can locate and track the vehicle or where its been parked and for how long.
Using the live track is very basic but if you use the search option and filter to “today” it’s a more precise view than live track.

The whole packaging and unit is very well-built, the supplied mobile Sim i used to set everything up but i put a giffgaff sim in straight away as my phone uses a giffgaff sim and giffgaff to giffgaff text and call communication are free, all I have to do is top up the giffgaff sim every three months with 10
download the two apps for your iPhone or iPad, one is a configuration app which is worth using as it saves you having to type different texts to the unit and the other is the gpslive so you can see the details of what your gpstracker is upto.
I have set the unit up onto the fuel pump so I can send the kill command to it and it wil make the engine stall If it was to get stolen.

You need to top it up and you’re ready to track.
Here’s when you find out that this thing is potentially a money pit and here’s why:
Every time you update any settings on the device via the app – you’re actually sending it an SMS. The unit will automatically respond with an SMS message confirming the changes. For example if you want to switch the unit from tracking mode to listening mode, you set it via the app, and the unit sends you a message back confirming the change.
And SMS messages cost 19p on the included sim. That means you’re going to burn through a 5 top-up just configuring it to do what you want.
I put 10 on it, and started setting it up by sending it messages. I didn’t receive any confirmations, so assuming something was wrong with my settings I persevered. Turns out the unit had no signal, and when it established signal again it sent me the whole backlog of confirmations in 1 go, burning through about 4 of credit. The rest only lasted 1 more week.
Even if you set it up very efficiently using a 5 top up, to never need to top up you’d have to disable all the alarms and status messages, response messages, basically half of it’s functionality, leaving it blind and dumb and only being able to just track it via gpslive.
So really you’re going to want to be using a giffgaff sim which at the moment is the best deal for this tracker – 100mb data and 500 sms/month – this is 5 monthly.
So, expect to pay 60/year to run it, +the gpslive renewal when 1st year runs out.
Other observations are:
– great on-board battery life.
– great that it includes both GPRS and GPS aerials to maximise reception on your install.
– uses the well-known reliable Coban GPS and GSM modules.
– the unit it pretty much the same as the chinese devices costing a lot less, bit the support and user experience is quite polished, which is really what you’re paying 90 for.
– the app works well, and Gpslive is brilliant (which you get a 1yr access to).
– the magnetic base is strong, but adds a lot of weight. I opened the case up and removed the magnet, because i’m hard-installing it on my bike.
– the charging port is not a conventional port. It’s a 4 pin header and requires the use of the supplied 12v power brick. A little inconvenient if you’re not hard-wiring the device.
Overall and so far, this is a great piece of Kit . I have ordered a gif gaff SIM card to use with this device as I think lycamobile is more expensive . 0.19 for a single text response from the device.
It comes with free subscription for a year afterwards, it’s 10 a year or 20 for life. You can also use their website for tracking.
Not bad considering the Price.
I bought the 104pro after first ordering and using there smaller model the 102nano which I was very impressed with.
The 104pro is a fanatic tracking device
It has a super strong magnet
Long battery life I’ve been getting over 4 weeks off a charge.
I use the 104pro in live tracking mode on gpslive.co.uk on the same account as my first 102nano tracker.
I can login on my phone or a computer see where both my trackers are. Watch them move live as well as load and view the history of where they have been.
I also love the real time email and SMS text message alerts I have setup on gpslive for speed, and leaving and entering zones. If I could give this tracker 100 stars I would.
Positives :
Fairly discreet device – about the size of a block of butter. Good magnet on the base, but wouldn’t trust it under the vehicle.
Excellent price – similar devices being sold by others for nearly twice as much.
Easy set up – clear instructions provided with excellent support from rewire. Emails responded to very quickly. Sim card provided.
Wide range of functions – but easy to default to the basics.
Decent battery life – depending on the various mode you set, the battery lasts for a couple of months. I’ve had it on the basic sleep mode which means that it dozes off after 5 minutes of inactivity. A call or text to the tracker results in a quick response with GPS coords, link to google maps, battery life and speed of vehicle. Even on this mode, the tracker continues to send data via GPRS to the GPSlive server. After 10 days I’m still on 100% battery.
Very easy to operate – responds to texts/calls or can be tracked live using the very intuitive GPS live website. Tons of data recorded, even in sleep mode and it’s very easy to generate reports of the vehicle activity.
GPS really quick to get a fix, and so far pinpoint accurate.
Negatives :
At this price, can’t think of any.
