Nice little camera! I bought this instead of the DJI Action one. Heavy for its little size with nice build quality. Video is good, haven’t tested photos.
I had the product for a couple of months as a motorcycle “dashcam”. I made of habit of reviewing the footage by opening the tray on the side and the plastic used to make the tray broke so be careful about charging and assessing the SD card slot. However, the image stabilization is quite impressive. I’ve tested about 3 of the top cameras here on amazon and none of the have the stabilization of this one. With the 4k30fps setting, I could identify street names and license plates easily (which is a key factor in buying a dash cam). Overall, watch out for the plastic but the image quality is sensational
Look solid in construction and look attractive & easy to control, video quality above-average, picture and video look grainy in low-light condition. Overall for outdoor video and photo well worth the money you pay for. I highly recommend it.
The XTU S3 camera is a reliable and user friendly budget action camera. This camera has a responsive back screen which allows for quick changes to shooting dynamics. The internal microphone is a very positive attribute to the XTU S3 camera, and with the windsleeve on the camera, wind noise and other outside sounds are greatly reduced. The various video options make this camera extremely reliable. Given the battery life when shooting in 4k30 and 2k30 is short-lived, having the back up batteries available has been greatly beneficial.
Wish It came with more batteries. Tried to order online, but they are out of stock.
After fighting with “THE” name-brand of this style camera (starts with go) and losing video after video because they truthfully, are 100% JUNK, I decided to try one of these off- brand cameras. I am so glad I did, this camera, the XTU takes awesome video, has great on- board audio, and has been 100% reliable, I havent lost any footage since switching from go-junk to this brand.
I have to reject this action camera for two reasons. (1) They claim that battery life is 120 minutes, but I got less than 60 minutes. (2) This may sound foolish, but I cannot open the side door without using a tool. You need to open this door every time you charge the battery or transfer files to your computer.
Otherwise, this is an above average budget action camera.
Good Points:
Metal exterior – Camera has a solid, premium feel

Touch screen is mostly responsive — better than GoPro Hero9 — but not as dependable as Apeman Cam
Simple, intuitive Menu
File transfer is simple — use the USB cable

Photos:
Photo image quality is poor, just like every other action camera. Although the colors are realistic and contrast is good, images are noisy and get worse in low light settings. At times, there is weird pink color fringing around center objects and bright areas can be over exposed. Lens flare is terrible. (See photos)
Video (Compared to other action cams I used)
Videos made from time lapse photos are acceptable, as are slow motion and ordinary video. Contrast is low on some videos.
Hyperlapses are also decent — you can set “speeds” as low as 1/2 sec!
Stabilization — is evident but not adequate.
Blunders:
The charger should be “Type C”, not the old fashion USB
Tripod mount interferes with both battery door and the USB door.
Buttons are hard to push. When trying to power off the camera the camera is likely to jump to a menu screen.
I’m not certain that a WATERPROOF camera makes sense considering the trade-offs. To make the camera waterproof, the buttons and doors have to be overly sealed, making them very hard to use. There is no need for this.
My Sony camera is WATER RESISTENT. Buttons and doors are moisture protected, but the sealing does not interfere with the operation of the camera. This is all you really need — protection from rain, snow, and dust. If you want to go under the surface, there’s always the underwater case.
Bought this camera based on reviews/videos/testing from Youtube. I have not been disappointed. This camera has great video but has AMAZING audio for the price you pay. I mainly use t to record my walking trips on trails and some road trips and it works perfectly for what I do. I highly recommend this camera for any budget buyer out there.
Very impressed for the price. I wish the batteries were better or there were more battery options but the camera itself is great and makes very high quality videos.
Great quality for the money. The wifi transfer rate is horrible but you can plug directly into a workstation/laptop for speed. The two compartment hinges are a booger to open but that’s waterproofing for you.
Update: I bought two additional batteries for 25 bucks. On a two hour bike ride the battery made it about an hour and 30 minutes which is pretty good. The quality of the 10 minute clips was excellent with no real jitter and I was on a RadRover fat tire bike so

I use this for kyake fishing mostly, the picture and video are so clear and color is great. Easy to use love the voice command and the remote wrist band .

love this camera. bought it for a hawaii trip and love the size of it and took great photos and videos. my first time having a someone gopro type of camera and still need to play with it a bit but great! you can also get the app on your phone and function the camera that way. a lot of cool accessories too.
So far I love this camera! I’ve used it about 8 different times now, and the only thing I can find wrong is that the battery life indicator on the display screen doesn’t seem to be very accurate with how much battery life is actually left. Love this camera. Only thing I don’t like is the battery dies pretty quick. I just gotta grab a couple more and have em with me.
This camera is packed with options and accessories for every action enthusiasts. The picture quality os top knotch at 4k and interface is user friendly. Unlike other models you get a microphone, lense cover, mounting hardware, wind noise reduction cover and the battery cover isn’t a pain to open. If you’re thinking about purchasing an quality action camera for a reasonable price, you’ve found it.
I was especially happy to have the HDMI output so that I could use this as a live camera with no latency.

I am very pleased with the feel and sturdy construction. Video and photo quality is very good. I have not taken the camera underwater yet, but the fact if comes with a well built underwater case is a bonus.
I was gopro user for 5, 6 years used a few model but they are increasing a price year by year so I want to try something worth for a money.

This camera is not good for dark situation.
So far so good. I haven’t really pushed it, though. I suspect people’s complaints about low resolution have to do with use of low quality/speed sdcards.
The camera seems to have a lot of options and settings.
This is a solid, well-built camera with multiple, easy to set functions. Personally, I bought this for use as a “dash cam” mounted to the handlebar of a motorcycle. I’m still exploring the possibilities, but since I also do a lot of kayaking and canoeing, I’ll be taking it out on the water and have no fears about it getting wet. Looking online, the company seems like they are alert to posted questions, and are quick to provide helpful answers.
This is my first action camera and I bought it to take videos from my plane. It works great and the extra attachments proved handy for mounting to my Cessna. The ability to invert the screen was also helpful.
This camera has all the features I needed at a great price point.
The instruction book is complete except for one piece of information. the remote worn on the wrist is rechargeable but how do you know when it is fully charged. The camera is fully charged when the red light goes out, which the book describes but no info on the remote.
The camera comes with several attachments to use on helmets, bicycles, cars, etc. It also comes with a waterproof case, which is rated waterproof to 30 meters according to the book. The description on Amazon say 40 meters. Since I will be snorkeling it doesn’t matter. to me That might be an issue if I was scuba diving.
There a couple of you tube videos that describe how to set up and use the S3. I have seen a Gopro and for the money it’s not that much better to me. I highly recommend the XTU S3. I can’t wait to see how it works while snorkeling in the ocean. I will most likely update with videos or photos once I snorkel.
Update: I took the camera on a trip to Hawaii. We went on a dolphin and turtle snorkeling trip. The camera was great. After reading my previous review, I need to correct the statement that the camera will run for over two hours on a single battery charge. What I meant to say is that the camera will last at least 30 minutes on a fully charged battery. The pictures and videos of the ocean life was great. I also got some videos of grandchildren on boogie borads or dodging waves. the camera worked quite well and did what it was supposed to do. Definitely worth the money.
Cool little action camera. Beautiful video. Has a lot of options for video. Only issues are opening up the battery and charger cover’s. Took time to figure out. This is a well made camera with good accessories.
This action camera is well made and works great. For half the price of a GoPro camera this is a no brainer. It is just as good, durable and takes great photos and video. Very impressed!
I looked at a lot of sports cameras on Amazon and finally found a better one. I have been planning to go diving with my friends before. I wanted to buy a sports camera to take photos. I tried it last week. The diving function of this camera is very good. It can dive 40 meters with a shell and 5 meters with a bare metal. The anti-shake effect is also very good. I really recommend it, and my friends also like it.
Just ordered this Action Camera for travel, comparing GoPro I have to pay more, this kit gives me more accessories and full covers with waterproof case. Video petty good just need extra battery to make it better.
Honestly I am blown away by the quality of this camera. Comes with everything you could possibly need for you to mount it. Picture and video quality is amazing. If you want a GoPro without the costs of a GoPro I highly recommend this camera. Shoots 4K.
It’s difficult to tell when it’s recording when you’re filming outside activities. So maybe the manufacturer can fix that on their next model? Having a small light flash when it’s recording
Overall I’m pleased with this camera and the functionality. It’s great that I can download the app and transfer pictures/videos straight to my phone so I can share with family & friends.
I tried a few video cameras before settling on this one. I didn’t want the expense of GoPro but I wanted something weatherproof/waterproof without a case as I’m not a diver. This one has decent sound too, which was lacking in others I tried. The added “extra” microphone was a nice touch too. I still need to play with it some more, but I have no reason to think about returning this one. Nice Camera!

All SD cards aren’t compatible with this camera. To be safe get a 128g the lower the gig, the slower the card runs. 128g SD card gives you like 5 hours.
Runs out of battery life fast, make sure you always have a charger or extra battery.

I bought this for my son as he wants to begin vlogging our travels. It seems to be a great beginner’s camera. It was actually difficult to find an affordable camera with all the features he wanted but this camera has them… front camera, good stabilization, voice control, & good interior mic with exterior mic capabilities.
Had some technical issues with camera. Customer service resolved quickly. Very happy with service and camera takes great pics

I use it when I’m surfing, I attach it to my surfboard, and the video is crisp and easy to transfer to my computer!
