I am on my phone all-day & this frees up my hands to type. Daily use of 8 to 10 hours & have not had any issues for it for 6 months plus.

Sound quality is very good . They are amazing for comfort. Way better than ear buds which end up infecting my ears and making them incredibly soar after a few hours . I do wish the could be adjusted a little so I could get the speaker where I want it but adjusting the volume is pretty much just as good . As a tractor trailer driver they are amazing for being able to hear google maps and not blocking out the sound around you. What I also like about them is they come with an amazing hard case and a magnet charging cord . Biggest plus is that unlike ear buds they are not so easy to lose and they are joined together. Amazing all round quality definitely best product out there . Would buy again for sure
Oh it also comes with a 2 yr Guarantee

Got these for work calls typically using MS Teams. I general audio is excellent. My chief comments are 1) Bluetooth range is quite short relative to other BT devices and 2) putting yourself on mute in a teams calls causes frequent loud beeping no one seems able to resolve. I don’t know if this is a MS issue or what but there is a long thread of complaints on the M forum “Loud beeping when muted in a MS Teams call”. If I were to buy again I would make sure the device can be muted in teams or send it back. At one point Aereopx was giving away devices to help but then started charging and seems like MS keeps changing things and temp solutions aren’t working. This is super annoying and you won’t like it and neither company is dealing with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHands down the best headset for anyone who is either on the phone or virtual meetings for extended period of time. I don’t write many reviews however I felt compelled to help the many folks that suffer from various forms of hearing loss.
    Here are the amazing features:
Lightweight and comfortable and don’t need to those other Princess Leia bulky headphones.
Superior sound quality based on the bone connection technology.
Noise cancelling is ideal and folks could not hear me listening to the World Cup during a meeting. 🙂
The over ear design allows me to even wear my hearing aids for some virtual meetings when attendees don’t have good microphones or ideal acoustics in their house.
I loved them so much, I bought two of them, so I have one at home and one at work.
Keep in mind, these charge so quickly and run for an extended period of time.
Plus includes a great carrying case.
Note: Special note to the AfterShokz innovative team, please design hearing aids and I will be the first in line to buy them.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo, I have to say I was a bit skeptical that these would be comfortable or work as advertised. I was wrong! The sound quality is amazing! I’ve had zero complaints about not being heard which was surprising because the mic is super short. It’s made from a rubber type material and is for the most part very comfortable. Today it was a bit touchy. It sits in front of the ear and loops over. I got a little sore from wearing it several hours without a break. I do wish there was a way to cushion it without messing with sound quality. I wear glasses and I’ve never been able to wear headphones or hair bands comfortably, and they give me migraines so it’s a no go for me. And ear buds will not stay in my ears no matter what kind or size I try. This however, loops behind my head, and fits comfortably enough that I don’t worry about it sliding out of place. The charger is cool. Never had a magnetic charger before. Battery life so far has been great, used them 2 days in a row for 8 hr shifts and it barely ate any battery life. Comes with a nice case as well to protect them when in transit or not in use for long periods of time. I can hear other things in the house like a knock at the door or crashes from the cats figting. It would be great for those working from home with kids in the house. You can still keep your ears open to hear whats going on.The only issue I really had was after I paired to the pc, I forgot to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone where I had been trying it out. Couldn’t get it to sync up until I realized what I had done. I would highly recommend these for anyone that has to work on a phone all day. Great buy and will buy again if these ever give up on me.

I bought these bone conduction headphones because I have chronic ear infections and couldn’t wear any in-ear headphones without causing problems. I also spend the majority of my work day on the phone and needed good sound and voice quality. These fit the bill perfectly. However, my only drawback is that if I’m connected to more than one device (I have work and personal cells), it has a connectivity issue where if I’m on a call with my work phone, it constantly beeps and says “Connected” which interrupts my call and pauses the audio for a second. Like it has trouble maintaining the second connection when it’s in use. I have to turn the Bluetooth off on the second device in order to stop from doing that. And it won’t reconnect unless I cycle power on the headphones. Other than that, it works perfectly for me. Music, games, and voice all sound great. Also, I believe the boom mic does a good job at picking up my voice while tuning out background noise. Battery life is good too, lasts all day. 9/10 would absolutely recommend for anyone, especially for anyone who has issues with in-ear headphones.

I went through loads of headsets trying to find a pair that kept other noises out of the conversations I was having. These are great they do an amazing job of cutting out the noise that’s not you talking. The added bonus is you can have conversations and still clearly hear everything going on around you.

If you’re after isolation from the outside world these aren’t for you.

If you want to use in a noisy environment they can work but you do have to crank up the volume.

I’ve ended up pairing these with two phones and work laptop, the only gripe if both phones connect you’ll be wondering why the laptop isn’t working. But the bonus of having multiple devices connectable is great.

The best part is they’re so comfortable that I wear them all day and forget I’m wearing them sometimes, when I wonder out to pick up the kids.

The headset is really comfortable and much better than others I have used for long workrelated video conference calls. The noise cancellation works great and is needed in my home office. The only thing that is a bit bothersome is that when I mute my sound on the video call there is a constant beep that remains until I go off mute. I sent an email to the shokz team and am waiting for a response on how to address this. Overall, the product is awesome with decent battery life and really good sound. Of course my favorite is that they are way more comfortable than in ear or over ear devices. There are a few people in my company that have moved over to these.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t usually write reviews, but this headset is one of the best I’ve ever used for home office or on the road.
    Pros:
I’ve always felt that the bone conduction heads sets would be uncomfortable, but these are very comfortable. I’ve been able to use them for conference calls that last for hours. I also like the ability to hear what is going on around me and don’t feel so isolated as I would wearing standard over the ear headphones. The sound is excellent. But what has sold me is the microphone. It does not pick up any of the surrounding noise. There has been noise that I can hear from another room but people on the calls could not hear it.

    Cons:
One thing that I do not like or find difficult to get used to is the fact that the volume and mute controls do not work unless you are on a phone call or playing music. If you are using it through Windows and are on Teams, Zoom, OfficeHD, the volume and microphone adjustments have to be made from the application. This a bit limiting when using those applications as it keeps you from walking around while on the call if you are muted or need to mute or unmute. If AfterShokz could fix that feature, I would give it 5 stars.

    Recommendation:
I would recommend purchasing this headset if you need an office headset or if you are on the road a lot.

Only just short of magic… bizarrely they seem to get louder when you put your fingers in your ears…
Sound quality is OK, but not ideal for pumping bassy music, as they can ‘buzz’ at high volume levels, which is why a noisy car is not ideal. I also use mine connected to a PC (need a Bluetooth dongle) for speech recognition using Dragon, they work fine, and you can still hear what’s going on around you.
With a mobile, callers report the voice quality is always excellent, so the noise cancelling must work well!
For me, the comfort is fine, in fact i usually forget I’m wearing it, even with my specs on.

A great if expensive bit of kit. So comfortable can be used all day. Local conversation in the room is easy as the unit does not cover the ears. The battery life is good, but with time it will deteriorate and as there is no way I can see of replacing, inevitably I will have to throw them in a couple of years.

Working from home now all the time I’ve tried lots of headphones but all were uncomfortable on / over / in ear. These sit front of the ear and are 100% better and more comfortable. Very light and the battery is fantastic.

It does work. I had one occasion where the mike was not recognised but only one. Every other time it worked. It’s nice to be present at home whilst still being in a meeting.

I’ve just got these for work, but I thought I’d give them ago at home to see what they’re like. The sound quality for voice is good and everyone has said that the mic is ok but not as good (but that’s fair as its a Yeti X). Music quality is ok, but a bit flat.
The best bit is the comfort. I wear glasses so it was a bit of a concern for me, but I didn’t need to worry, I’ve had them on for a few hours now (but that’s mainly because I forgot I had them on 😀 ).
All in all, I think they’re a good headset and the comfort is fantastic. If the sound quality was there for music, it would have been a 5* review.

I usually browse headset ranges to see if there is one that was light weight, and predominately was interested in headsets which were monaural. For one ear. When I found this product, I felt I needed to try it and on receiving it, I was amazed that it did not require to be in your ear in order for you to hear and the noise cancelling was great. I asked a couple of callers if they could hear my large nosey fan close to me and they could not.

This is the first time I have come across this technology and hope the manufacture continues to enhance the features, as many users who need headphones, express that they need to remove over the ear headphones periodically during the day.

Ultimately, because I spend periods during the intermittently on the phone, this headset is great, I often forget I have got it connected and I like the fact that they don’t cut you off from your surroundings, as they are not in your ear.

Excellent mic and noise cancelling, great comfort, really fantastic for books, podcast, YouTubes, Zooms, Team etc, great battery life, but if you want massive submersive audio then there’s better to be had in high quality in-ear and over-ear, but that’s an unfair comparison in my view as they work so differently. But SO glad I got them, they have changed the way I listen to content and communicate, fantastic piece of gear that I would buy again in a second if I lost them.

Mainly used for Teams calls. Pricey but quality seems on par. Volume control and Mute don’t seem to work when on Teams, you have to use the Teams settings, and then you need to use Windows sound settings to mute otherwise you get a loud beeping. Apparently this is due to a Teams update which is upsetting a lot of people, and because Shokz product has not been certified or something. There’s a workaround as above, it’s not elegant but it works and I’m much happier not using ear buds.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUpdate July 2022
After repeated phone calls to Shokz, they eventually shipped a replacement. The new version looks slightly different without the orange accents, but the performance seems to be the same. If this unit is more reliable, then this puts the Opencomm as a top contender for Bluetooth headsets with noise canceling microphone.

I purchased the Opencomm in Dec, 2020 during the pandemic in addition to the Aeropex (now called the OpenRun) I already owned. Bone conduction speakers are amazing for what they are meant for and not having to place anything inside or over your ear is a huge advantage.

The Opencomms were based on the 7th generation bone conduction technology, unlike the 8th generation the Aeropex. This means the buds that generate the sound are slightly larger and heavier and the sound quality is not as crisp – but it’s really a minor difference. What you gain is a microphone that picks up your voice and blocks out background noise, perfect for work from home or taking calls on the road. Also the battery life is much better on the Opencomm over the Aeropex.

Comparing to the Aeropex, the microphone on the Opencomm makes you sound more natural and it cuts out background noise significantly. I could be using the vacuum cleaner and the people on the other side only heard a hum. The voice pickup is also excellent, like a high quality headset, and your voice does not sound robotic or compressed. The Aeropex on the other hand picks up everything, similar to a speaker phone and being in loud environments are a distraction to the other side and you also sound more robotic.

The one-star rating is that the microphone on the Opencomm started cutting out right after the two year warranty period. Only static was heard from the other side making the microphone essentially useless. And since the Opencomms are heavier and sound quality slightly diminished over the Aeropex, I still use those on exercise runs or casual listening.

Shokz after service support seems to be non-existent and their chat bot leaves much to be desired. I have not been able to get in touch with anyone from the support team and it has been a frustrating experience given these headphones are supposed to be more premium.

Perhaps I received a dud or early version of the headphones as I purchased them when they were first released. However not being able to reach a customer service person to discuss an RMA is why I’ll be avoiding this brand in the future and will walk back my prior recommendations.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this headset 12/10/2022. Unpacked the box, read the instructions (there weren’t many) and paired it with my phone. The sound quality was impressive from the beginning. My real concern was whether or not the sound quality would be good on the other end of my calls. My wife has complained about me using bluetooth headsets before, she always says there is a buzz or background noise that makes it difficult for her to hear me. She had no problem with hearing me with this headset and I polled others for a couple of weeks to make sure they heard me also – NO PROBLEMS. Six months after getting the headset, everyone is telling me they can barely hear me. Tried resetting the headset then re-pairing it with my phone; no good. I’ve listened on the other end of a call made with the headset, and it sounds as if the volume is barely on. I still like being able to listen to things on my phone with the headset, but it is useless to me if the microphone feature doesn’t work. I’ve contacted Aftershokz to see if they will replace this one since it has a two year warranty. I’ll update my review once I hear back from them.
UPDATE:. Very nice & respectful customer service. Replaced the headset with a new one that is working. Will update again after six months to see if it will continue to work.

I have tried many headsets for my mobile phone, & the clarity of voice calls on this product is remarkable, it sounds like a landline phone call, also I am able to have music playing in the background without the caller hearing it. Lastly, I wear this product for over 9 hours constantly with no problems. I would highly recommend it.

Able to wear it for hours without noticing it is there. Used it while cycling the South Downs way and lasted more than 6 hours continuously listening to music taking calls and using Google Assistant. Stayed in place without budging. Charges really quickly from flat to full. Not good in high noise environments (like the tube) and no noise cancelling function, but don’t use it on the tube and it is fine. Microphone very sensitive.

I have owned the OpenComm (Boom mic) version for about 4 months now and have grown to love this headset – one I wear for many hours a day.
Whilst I wouldn’t choose it for listening to music at high quality (not enough bass), they are “OK” from time to time.
For meetings and calls however these are excellent. Voices are clear, and they are comfortable to wear with a great battery life.
One minor point of annoyance is that the buttons do not function when using with Windows 10 (they work perfectly with a mobile phone) – this seems to be a Windows limitation, but it a bit of a shame.

If you are looking to avoid that over-the-ear feeling, or want to keep in touch with your surroundings, and spend hours on calls, then this will work for you.

I havnt had a painful ear infection since buying these months ago, and the quality of just amazing plus the case I’d extremely handy. I just bought and returned a well reviewed pair of headphones because while the audio quality was decent, the noise canceling was… as far as I could tell, non existent. So I returned it, added a few dollars to my budget (this isn’t cheap!) and bought this one. Wow! I was blown away! First of all, the bone bla bla bla technology… actually works! It’s like magic! Put a big smile on my face – so cool to hear plain as day something that you’re brain is telling you… isn’t there / it’s not in your ear! …yet you hear it in your ear! So weird! AND COOL! And on the noise cancelling – the main reason I was looking for a headset – wow, awesome. I’ve tested in an old noisy car (tons of road noise), I’ve tested in a noisy coffee shop, I’ve tested leaning over my kitchen sink with the water running full blast, I’ve tested in my garage with our clanky garage door going up and down, I’ve tested in the wind, etc, etc. POINT: It handled all of those tests with no problems / the people on the other end couldn’t hear a thing! …just my voice. Each of them were as blown away as I was at all the things I’d done while talking with them. They had no clue / thought I was in my quiet office talking to them. So yeah, for me – this is a winner – exactly what I was looking for! Pricey? Oh for sure! I’m sure this costs WAY less to produce than they are charging BUT… I bought a cheaper “noise canceling” headset, and returned it. It just didn’t work. This to me, is worth every penny! Oh, and I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviewers talking negatively about sound quality when listening to music… so tested that right away and… maybe it’s just having low expectations but, after reading all the negativity I was quite surprised at how good music sounded through it! Not a disappointing experience musically at all. Yes, I bought this for use as a noise canceling headset for my phone – but I have no hesitation using it for music as well / it’s music capabilities was a nice “surprise” I wasn’t expecting. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersFirst off, I had no clue what I was getting into with bone conduction audio. It sounded gimmicky to be honest. However I was in the market for a headset to use for conference calls over webex, teams, zoom and the like.

I specifically wanted something that I could still be situationally aware and be able to hear the sound of my own voice. I work in an office environment where people do come by the office to talk and I do want to know when someone is around me. The other issue is being able to hear myself. When I’ve used full coverage headsets or ones that are on both ears, I slowly get louder and louder to the point I’m nearly yelling. The looks I get from co-workers is not nice if looks could speak. I’ve also used the kind that only go over one ear with the microphone boom and the plantronics BT ones that hang over one ear. The former feels unbalanced on my head and I feel like I should be in a call center, while the latter falls off my ears (I have thin, weak ears).

So I took a gamble on these which really paid off! First off they are not cheap, but I remember some of the first BT headsets weren’t either. The fit is amazing. Very lightweight and doesn’t feel like its squeezing your head. The hoop portion is awesome since its goes behind your head rather than over it. Bonus points for not dentin’ my ‘do!

The transducers sit just right in front of your earholes and don’t cover them at all. Fully aware of your surroundings at all times with no earhole fatigue. The boom mic is small and just goes as far as mid-cheek so I don’t even see it in my field of vision.

Now if you like me the first thing you are going to do is play music to see how they sound. You are not going to be super impressed. It can sounds a bit tinny with not a lot of base. The highs and mids sound really good though. However that is not the point of this headset, which is for communications. Call someone up and talk to them and they will sound perfectly clear and distinct. The other end of the call said I sounded perfect with no background noise. No issues with making out different speakers in multi person calls either.

Now that doesn’t mean you should not listen to music on these. I often do between calls. Bone conduction means your co-worker neighbors are not bothered by sound leakage. The open ear design does mean that base suffers however you can remedy this with earplugs. Test this out by plugging you ears with your fingers and you’ll notice a huge change in base.

Overall, these check all my boxes for two-way audio communication. Light, comfortable and great sounding; so far these have lasted me all day long on a single charge. Magnetic charger is nice, while the carry case is overly large. You could put full size headphones in that case.

Definitely give yourself sometime to adjust to bone conduction audio as it is a bit jarring at first to be able to ‘listen’ thru your jawbone. I haven’t had any issue with it other than some slight tickling when there is a track with heavy base in it and the transducer buzz against the sides of my head.

    Great headset!

I’ve used many headsets for my work as taxi driver most stop me from hearing customer in car when in ear but this is brilliant clear sound quality for calls and I can hear customers as my ears not blocked

Awesome product, works really well with my M1 macbook pro 2021.

I’m always in a Teams, Zoom or Discord call and I have no regrets about the purchase.

    SMALL PROBLEM:
The only problem I’ve had is when the battery is at 60%, my mic starts cutting in/out- but ONLY on Discord. This is strictly a Discord issue but should be noted.

These are great, good battery life, comfortable.
Takes a little while to get used to can give you headache or motion sickness
The down side is that they are not fully supported with Zoom etc, you still have to use the pc to unmute which is mildly annoying but forgivable

I lost my earlier expensive earbuds, so I looked for something that would not fall. That is handled. At first I experienced a slight pain on my right ear after a few hours of usage. I discovered that if I push the back part toward the top of my head, that totally solved that. I needed a device that I could pair with my cell and my computer. It was a little learning curve to figure out the double pairing, but that worked well, the documentation is decent. I had a situation with the mic when using a Bluetooth antenna in Teams / Zoom meetings, wrote support, I never got an answer from them. Not good. However, the antenna support team helped me resolved the issue. You need to keep the volume at a certain level, otherwise it will produce an unbearable tickling effect. Jut lowering the volume a bit solves that. But, when BT is fine, sound quality seems fine, at least I did not get reports from users in meetings. I really love the fact that I can use it with the cell and with the computer, I really did not want to have to use two headsets. That solved that. I do not know exactly how long the battery last. It is hard to tell, since I am not in meetings every day. But, so far I cannot say that this has caused me a problem. So, based on all of that, I recommend that product.

Dann geht’s.
So.

Bought for my son for general use and for gaming. He had been having issues with in-ear head phones – wasn’t sure if these would be up to standard but they are excellent. Super comfortable to wear, excellent sound quality – absolutely brilliant in fact.

Knapp 1 Monat nutze ich das Headset schon.
Vermutlich anders als vom. Hersteller angedacht.
Ganzer Arbeitstag muss ohne zwischenladen gehen.

Ein Manko was mich etwas strt….

    2 device sind gekoppelt.
    Eins davon spielt Musik ab

So working from home with the pandemic means I have been spending 6 to 7 hours with a headset stuck on my head as everything is now done by phone or on teams. The normal over the ear or in ear headphones got uncomfortable and painful over the course of a day. Looking for a solution I was recommended bone conduction by a couple of people. Doing my research I found these. Boy am I glad I did. These are amazing. They a light, comfortable and you hardly know your wearing them. The sound is clear and people have commented on how good the mic is. The slight vibration on your temples takes a little getting used to but after a while you don’t notice at all. My ears feel good still at the end of the day. No headaches or pain. Only thing I cant figure out is how to control volume direct from the headphones, I have to do it actually on the laptop settings. It’s not to much of a bother as I’m normally with it anyway. The Bluetooth is a good connection and has a very good distance. Over all for the price, if you need an all day wireless, comfortable headset these are amazing. Battery life for me has lasted all day with very heavy usage with no issues. Just don’t loss the charging cable which comes with them as its specific to the set.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got the Aftershokz Opencomm, not particularly expecting much, but the quality just blew me away. The headphones themselves were light, most importantly, did what they said in the blurb. The noise cancellation is good, the microphones phenomenal, and for meetings, it is a very good product. For music, there are better headsets but for the price, this is a very good buy

I see lots of comments about not working well with teams. Used daily on teams, no issues. Works well on Zoom. Less pressure on my ear and not as invasive as other headsets and earphones I’ve used in the past. I can have music on in the house while on calls and the customers can’t hear it because of the noise cancellation. Can get around two days of on and off calls before battery dies, so worth a charge at end of day. A*

I’ve already got Aftershokz trekz which are great, but when I got my new Samsung ZFlip3, I discovered that Samsung in their infinite wisdom, have decided to ditch the headphone socket. I use my phone all the time for working from home and need a headset so I can type & have pretty long conversations. I tried my Trekz but they sounded too hands free to clients, so after then trying an adaptor (unreliable connections, no matter which I tried – gave up after 2), I bit the bullet and got these. They’re super comfy to wear all day, clear and the battery life is great too. Even better that I managed to get them when they’d dropped to 125.

This is simply the best form factor for today’s working from home setup – if you want:
    * To hear your work calls
    * To hear your ambient noise, like doorbells, emergency with the kids, etc. (otherwise get something completely different which, for example, would cover your ears)
    * To attenuate some (not all) of the background noise around you.

    Pros:
    * My buddy and I both use these at work in large meetings, when we need to (because speaker and mic audio quality is *lower* when we use these compared to other options), and it drowns out his dog barking considerably – we can still hear the dog barking, but it becomes much more distant and tolerable.
    * The fit on these versus previous after-shokz is a *dream*, my previous generation ones physically hurt much earlier in the day than these do. These will also eventually hurt, but not as bad as the previous generation, and they are certainly tolerable when you move them around a bit. Kudos on this one.

    Cons:
    * Why can’t we have a mute button?
    * The mic quality is lower than several other options – including conference speakers, and cheap boom mic alternatives. Given that this is a premium boom microphone device, this is patently ridiculous and inexcusable. What were you thinking Shokz-folks?
    * Sound quality for anything other than voice/meetings is a joke – you can do it in a pinch, but you’d be wasting an opportunity to use a much better solution.
    * The boom mic *still* leaks some of your ambient noise through.
    * Do we really need yet *another* proprietary charging cable?
    * Minor nit: I wish it had longer battery life. But you can definitely make it through at least one day’s worth of meetings.

In spite of the cons however, get these, I use them almost every day, and they are my go-to when I need to attenuate my surroundings.

A friend recommended these after I suffered an ear infection from wearing AirPods on my dog walks (talking earpods in and out in cold, damp and dirty conditions is definitely not recommended!!).

I was somewhat skeptical about the sound quality but after using them several times and getting used to how they fit around the ear, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.

I mostly listen to audiobooks and make calls so music quality isn’t really an issue. The sound quality for music isn’t terrible however the bass does cause some vibration and a bit of distortion but for making calls and listening to audiobooks without having to stuff things in your ears these are BRILLIANT and I’d thoroughly recommend them.

I was also worried about the little boom mic being a nuisance, it is on occassion when a call comes in you have to remember to flip the boom out, the background noise cancellation is so good people can’t hear a thing when it’s tucked behind your ear. I also thought I’d look a bit stupid with it while out on dog walks. But after a while the self-conciousness goes away.

Battery life is pretty much on par with what they say as well, 6-8 hours of listening easily.

All in all, I’d say these are great little headphones, a bit on the steep side, but I’ve so far had plenty of use out of them without any problems.

    Pleasantly Surprised

As someone with a hearing impairment I wanted headphones that didn’t completely cancel out outside noise and would use bone conduction versus in-ear for sound. These are great. Would totally recommend. I am on conference calls most of the day and this allows me to walk around, easily talk and hear clearly plus I can hear sounds from around me as well. Everything I wanted them for. For someone with longer hair you end up having to fiddle around it as it does stick out the back but it’s a minor issue. Portability with the case is also good. Would be interested to know how good they are without the extended microphone for use on calls.

When I first received this product I experienced a bunch of problems in Windows 10 and 11 when using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. My microphone would work, but my audio wouldn’t most of the time. It turns out that I was using a Bluetooth 4 dongle which doesn’t seem to be completely compatible with this headset. Switching to a Bluetooth 5 dongle (I bought an Asus BT500) solved all of my problems and it’s been perfect since. Would definitely recommend.

I use the headset for calls and to chat with friends on Discord when Zwifting. Comfortable for long use as they use bone conduction and don’t sit on or in ear. Small boom mic is good and seems to cancel surrounding noise, focusing on my voice. Controls are a little fiddly but I don’t consider this to be a showstopper. They are quite expensive but good quality and do a really good job for a bluetooth headset. I wouldn’t recommend these if you primarily want to listen to music – they sound okay but are not intended for this as primary function. If you want them for calls or Discord/gaming use, they are great. Picked mine up in Black Friday deal saving 25% (c. 35).

Sometimes I could hear myself on the other side, otherwise it is awesome!

This Headset is great for its use case. It is optimized for voice but not for music, and that’s why I bough it in the first place.

While on my Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 voice calls sound crisp and clear. Volume works great according with your needs. I used Microsoft Teams and it was flawless. Music sound was very thin but usable.

I connected the headset with my corporate laptop, it is a Dell Latitude 5320. Audio from Youtube and YT music was choppy, but it was not the headset problem but Dell’s problem. Dell laptops are known for problems with bluetooth, nonetheless I used the Aftershocks with Microsoft Teams on this laptop and surprisingly, audio was great, crispr and clear and was not choppy, which was great and weird since any other audio including system audio was choppy.

I recommend this headset to anyone who want to be comfortable while on home office during long hours and also want to be aware of your sorroundings. Headset is very comfortable and it is very well made. Yes it is a quality product. It looks a lot better on video conferences than my current Jabra on the ear headset. It can even be worn outside and take calls without looking weird (the mic was covered with my face mask so the headseat was barely noticed).

Buy this if you want a comfy headset to be worn on long hours. I would say go for it if you use Microsoft Teams but your miles may vary depending on the hardware of your Laptop. On my mobile the Aftershoks worked great. The voice always sounded crisp and clear. This headset does not disappoint in the voice department. The people on the other side also said my voice was crisp and clear.

Here it is what can be improved:

    1. Use USB C to charge it instead of the proprietary one. It is more convenient.
    2. The case is very well made but it is VERY large for the headset. This case can be manufactured with the same quality on the third of the size and be still great and protective. I will look for a smaller third case option because this case takes a lot of space in my current backpack.
    3. Improve sound for music. Aftershok might incorporate different sound profiles so voice calls remain crisp and clear and improve on music when needed.
    4. Make a UC version of the headset to avoid any connection issue on PCs… and also that is bluetooth capable so I can connect it to my smartphone.
    5. Allow multiple simultaneous connections.

I will buy it again. Definitely, it is a great headset if its main use is for voice applications.

I normally work from home and I do a lot of Zoom calls with customers using a Jabra 750 speakerphone connected to my Mac to avoid the discomfort (heat, sweat, itchiness) you normally get from headphones after several hours of meetings. Since my wife also started working from home, and our meetings were interfering with each other, I wanted to go back to headphones.

I have to say the AfterShokz are VERY COMFORTABLE. They also have great listening sound quality, but several people have complained that now its much harder to hear me, and my voice occasionally cuts out at the start of sentences. It’s not terrible, but I do find myself having to repeat myself which is not great when I’m leading a meeting or training session.

I’m playing around with boom position and such, but it’s possible I may have to switch back to the Jabra if I can’t figure out the problem. Possibly there is a software update or something I can adjust on the noise cancelling if there is some kind of app for the device. Will update this if I find a solution.
