The EF+ Range is a self-priming, quiet running external aquarium filter with a built-in UV steriliser. It uses a multi-stage approach to filtration and filters your tank water through a number of distinct filter materials, which are separated into different layered baskets to provide biological, mechanical and chemical filtration to your aquarium fish tank.

How Does It Work?These filters work on the same principle as internal power-head filters, but are positioned outside the tank and draw water into the filter through an inlet tube and return the water via an outlet tube. The outlet tube is fitted with a spray bar to increase aeration within your tank. These type of external filters avoid the need for an unsightly filter inside the tank and the media capacity is much larger than internal filters and they are therefore suitable for much larger tanks. Filter maintenance is very easy as the units drip free shut off tap allows you to move the filter away from your aquarium fish tank to another area more suitable for cleaning. | UV SterilisationA key component to ensuring that your water remains crystal clear is adding UV sterilisation to your set up. This is made simple with the EF+ range, as this feature is built in. Supplied with a built-in 9w UV bulb steriliser, passing water is exposed to lethal doses of ultraviolet light – killing, sterilising or otherwise irreparably damaging the majority of harmful micro-organisms. Fish tank water is pumped slowly past the UV light (sealed inside a quartz glass sleeve) which Enabling increased efficiency by a more even exposure of the water to the UV. It was not as expensive as some others but I went for the name more than anything. My friend has one so that’s why I chose it.
I was not disappointed. Easy to set up, works brilliantly and the clarity of the water is fantastic. I’ll never go back to an internal filter system.
A good pump. East to put together. The inlet/outlet attachment fits both ways so be aware of that when you plug in. I got confused as the suck was the blow and blow was suck. In a different situation this could have been very awkward.
I strongly suggest heating the hoses over a gas hob BEFORE trying to put them on the in/out bits. They go on A LOT easier.
his is probably the4th or 5th unit I have bought in various outputs of liters,and now they have fitted a handle to the top it’s even better,once again I would recommend this item
This is a good pump, no issues with leaks and has a great mechanism for getting the hoses on and off, but it is a little noisy. There’s a constant hum from it. I have purchased a replacement impeller from all pond solutions and will try this.
It’s also reassuring that all pond solutions have a web store where you can buy spare parts if required!
I bought this for my 123 litre tank. It keeps the water crystal clear with minimal fuss.
i am happy with the performance of the filter i did have a problem with trapped air causing a noisy impella but i contacted allpondsolitions who were very helpful and gave me a list of instructions to follow which did help a lot it is now OK
Just set it up relatively simple to do it’s very** quiet** it comes with 400g of ceramic rings but mixed it with seachem matrix and manage to get 1.4 kg of media in it plus 3 of the 4 sponges, bio balls and 360g of carbon in too, the build quality seems very good, I’m very pleased with it so far and would recommend it, this model has the UV steriliser built in so I’m going to reserve judgement for a while on that it also has an on and off button so you don’t have to leave it on 24/7

We ordered this for our tank as our previous filter broke. When it arrived we’d noticed that one of the hoses had a hole in it preventing it from doing its job. We got in touch with the seller and they emailed back fast and sorted the problem by sending us a new one which arrived 3 days after they were made aware of this issue. Would definitely recommend. Thank you
Brilliant value for money, both 400 litre and 500 litre tanks look amazing. Took a bit of patience to get them primed but well worth the effort.
