I found the lens gives a clear bright view.
What l found when using the zoom function is it needs refocusing, which is not what I think should happen.
It comes with a phone holder attachment and cable button which is very useful.
A small tripod is included.
I’ve generally used binoculars before for wildlife spotting, and whilst these have always served me well, I wanted to try a telescope to avoid the hand shake that I find often comes with binoculars.
The image quality from this unit is very good, and the zoom is handy to have, allowing one to get closer to the object. I did find this a little fiddly at first.
The scope feels very well made and comes complete with a quality feeling jacket to protect the unit which attached with velcro. This is easy to removed if you prefer, and with this in place, the scope is still easy to use. The tripod is handy, if a little small – it’s either a lying on the floor, or placed on a table tripod, but it does the job.
Haven’t tried the smartphone adaptor but other reviewers say this works well.
Overall very pleased with this – a good scope for the price.
Worked strait out of the box
And was taking photos with my mobile in 3o minutes
With the scope.
This is a pretty good quality scope that offers plenty of zoom. I’m hoping to use it to get a good view of some satellites in low earth orbit. While they’re visible with naked eye, I’m able to get a much better view of them using this. The included case is really nice but the included tripod is very basic. The included phone adapter is also not the best and I had trouble getting it to work properly though I managed it in the end.
I’ve enjoyed using this scope for watching dolphins in the bay as well as for watching birds. I’d give it 4.5/5 if I could.
The picture quality is very good.
The eye piece is comfortable.
Magnification and focus adjustments can be finely tuned and work well
Hood over main lens to limit glare etc
The protective cover is excellent and allows easy access to all main parts
Metal tripod is reasonable – but not very sturdy and I wouldn’t trust it on anything where it could fall off
Phone attachment is handy and does an ok job, but to be honest isn’t close to matching the quality from a decent zoom lens on a camera
I underestimated this spotting scope and judged its telephoto abilities before I tried it. Once unpacked and tried I was really impressed at how far it can reach, rendering literally invisible things from afar, clearly visible.
Of course this is not made as means of photography, so don’t anticipate that you will make great short attaching a phone to the scope. It is rather made for spotting, reaching far places and spotting details of plants/trees and scenarios, and most importantly keeping track of animals/birds natural movement without being close to them as that might disturb them.
This is described as portable but the word portable is relative. The area taken by this scope fits my professional cameras and three mid-size lenses. I find the scope very hard to move around and I wouldn’t call it portable unless I am not carrying other stuff or using a vehicle to move around.
The tripod that came with this scope is quite limited in length and functionality, so I substituted it with my K&F tripod which fits perfectly and provides a better length, angles, and stability.
The green bag is good for merging with the wild if you intend to spot animals so definitely take it with you when carrying this around.
First off, I have to confess I’m a complete novice with telescopes, and much more familiar with binoculars. I love the idea of the smartphone adapter as I’d be really interested in upping my wildlife photography skills.
The telescope was carefully packed in its carry case/sleeve within the box, which seemed very sensible. There are velcro patches to expose the key parts of the scope so that you can use it fully without removing it from the carry case.
The tripod is simple but effective, and the scope screws straight on. As a binoculars user it took me a while to get used to using the twiddle stick to angle the scope around and fix it on a view, then release it to move it on again – but simple enough once you’ve got the hang of it. It gives a really nice clear view, great magnification and very sharp.
I did find that the garden was too short to get the real benefits of it – and it does state it’s more of a long range gadget – asking it to focus on about 10-12m was probably the shortest it will usefully go.
The smartphone adapter is universal, and fitted a Samsung 10 no problem – it also has a plug in photo switch so that you don’t accidentally move the phone when pressing the photo button. I did find the adapter quite fiddly – there’s one dial to fit the phone in, one dial to attach to the eyepiece, one dial to adjust – I just managed to knock a dial or the phone each time I tried to adjust something, and the little padded grips to hold the phone sometimes worked loose too – pretty sure that with a few more goes I’d find it more straightforward ( and possibly put markings on my phone so I could slot it into place faster).
The set up would be great for use in bird hides, larger gardens etc where you have the time and patience to wait for your wildlife to appear. It would also be great for longer distance wildlife spotting provided you have a solid surface to set it up on.
Overall, a really smart little scope, and great set with the adapter, padded sleeve and tripod, definitely a good buy for teenagers and upwards.
I can still remember getting a telescope for my birthday when I was 9 or 10, and looking at the craters on the moon – even though it was just a ‘toy’ telescope it was such a vivid memory. Every home should have a telescope!
When we first set this up I was impressed at just how sharp and detailed the leaves on the tree at the bottom of our garden looked – then I realised that it was actually pointing at trees much further away – maybe 300 yards – which shows how impressive the magnification and clarity are.
I don’t have another telescope to compare it to, and I don’t know the price of this actual model, so it’s hard to give a value for money rating, but assuming it compares with other similar models on the market, I wouldn’t be disappointed with this scope. It would be good for bird watching and moongazing/an introduction to astronomy. The protective case is a bonus and makes it easy to take on walks and excursions without worrying about damaging it. The mini tripod included is useful for table-top set-up, but a full size tripod/monopod would be well worth the investment.

This powerful and versatile spotting scope is perfect for nature viewing.
The Eono spotting scope is finished in a nice rubberised coating and comes in a tough durable protective back pack, table tripod, phone adapter, camera shutter, cleaning cloth and a manual instruction.
What impresses me the most is the 21mm Ocular lenses and 80mm objective lens that provides a fantastic close up view of your subject. Its focal zoom magnification is variable from 20x to 60x which makes it easy to find and then zoom in close on the target. Also, the multi-coated lenses provide good light image at any enlargement.
Other than that, by way of features the exterior is waterproof and the case gives good protection against hard use in the field. The eyecup is quite comfortable to use since it is made of rubber and it is soft.
I have this daily from my office to look across the valley and zoom in on interesting sights. I can explore nature more and appreciate the beauty in nature in the nearby forests.
The only thing that I will SAY lets this scope down is the smart phone adapter as frankly its unusable. Even when I was able to positions my iPhone 11 Pro correctly for a moment it would not stay in place and even then the image was only a circle on the screen and did not fill it.
The price might be rather costly and the phone adapter of no use but as a zoom scope this one is well made, very powerful and highly recommended.
Perfect for bird watching and a bit of telescopic photography, very easy to use and set up. The scope comes with a nice padded jacket and it will protect it while using it outdoor, the focusing is smooth and the image is above average. You can see details on a penny at 30 meters away, using it to spot bird or outdoor spot will be ideal.
The only thing I don’t like is the phone mount, the silicon holding the phone is not secure and if tighten enough the grip will squeeze out your phone and potentially dropping your phone on the floor. I removed it completely and just use the plastic vs my phone case which has enough grip if not moving it around.
The tripod is small and ok for table top, I would suggest if using it a lot then use a proper camera tripod or even better a video tripod with fluid head.
First thoughts:
Pros
Sharp clear picture and good magnification options.
Built-in extendable lens hood to reduce glare on the lens.
An excellent rain cover/carrier that can be left on while using it.
Mini tripod and mobile phone attachment included.
Cons
Magnification dial is directly connected to the eyepiece which means turning it while the camera is already attached also turns the camera and by extension the captured picture or video. I have to adjust the rotated image in post.
This is a really nice spotting scope and as my partner and I are into photography this makes a very useful tool for composing shots or locating wildlife to then capture with the DSLR cameras. The mobile phone attachment also allows us to capture video to integrate it into Vlogs alongside the DSLR photos.
The scope feels very well made and all the moving parts feel solid, robust but smooth to turn at the same time.
Details and things to note (See pictures):
Nice big objective lens with multi-layer coating, the hood is extendable by sliding it away from the main body. There’s also a spring loaded lens cap included in the kit.
20x, 40x through to 60x magnification is controlled by twisting the eyepiece and this is the only area I feel was a design problem as this should have been on a separate dial that does not rotate the eyepiece.
Focus is obtained by the focusing dial on the top of the scope and this reacts fairly quickly although it becomes more difficult to hit a sharp focal point at maximum magnification, but this is usually the case with lenses.
The rain/dust cover is great and is well designed to allow full use of the scope and controls while the cover is on. There are attached flaps and openings that give access to the lenses and controls.
The scope has 2x ” screw threads on the bottom rail to allow for mounting and there is a mini tripod included with a tilt and pan platform. I would recommend using a full size tripod unless you’re using the scope from an almost prone position.
The scope kit comes with a mobile phone attachment and a 3.5mm jack to a physical shutter button.
Final thoughts:
A high quality looking scope with plenty of useful accessories that I’d normally have to source separately.
Unfortunately I can’t suggest the value for money aspect as the product did not have a listed price at the time of writing this review. If the price point is appealing when this is available then I’d have no hesitation to recommend this to those getting into wildlife observation and landscape photography. This scope also works very well for taking shots of the moon although I recommend only viewing the moon via an attached mobile phone screen to avoid dazzling.
This is a well made bit of kit, and the magnification range is very impressive. However there’s quite a bit of purple / green fringing on high contrast edges, particularly at high magnification.
As a package it’s great, coming with a waterproof jacket, metal tripod and phone holder, although to be honest the scope and jacket are the only parts I’d really bother with. The tripod, although made of metal, is pretty basic in design and I would opt for something higher quality. The phone holder is a basic plastic affair.
The scope is a different story though, and seems to be well designed and well made. You have to remove the waterproof jacket at first to get the plastic bag off the scope, but after that it’s easy to get to all the controls and the mounting plate by loosening the various covers, which are held on with velcro. The zoom and focus both feel great and it’s easy to get a target dialed in. Apart from the coloured fringing, the image is great and pretty bright. Its jacket is nicely done too, with a bit of padding to protect it and easy to use removable covers over the various bits you need to get to. Really nice.
This is a review the Eono 20-60×80 HD Spotting Scope for bird watching, with camera/phone adapter plus wired remote shutter release, small tripod, well padded carry case plus instructions and cleaning cloth all included. I was quite surprised at the size of this scope – it is big! The 60 times power of it is amazing plus the zoom option on the eyepiece is a very nice added feature. The built-in lens hood pulls out and protects the viewing lens very nicely – see photos. In use it works really well as I have mounted it on an old camera tripod for in-house viewing of local bird life – there are two tripod mounting threaded base options – see photo. Half a mile away there is a tree and we can now see the birds in the branches, something we had not been able to do before with other optics we have. Daughter used it with the smart phone adaptor and after a bit of getting it lined up centrally, was able to get very good images of birds and a rabbit under the tree. We went to a local nature reserve and viewed the local bird and wildlife in general and once again no complaints at all – this does deliver the goods. The very well padded carry case is just that, very well padded plus has a carry strap for over the shoulder use. Overall the quality is very good, feel very robust but at the time of this review, I have no idea as to its current price as it is listed as ‘currently unavailable’ which is a shame but when available, I feel sure it will find an appreciative following in the features alone
I am getting to know this wonderful scope for bot watching and photographing birds and other wild life. I have taken it to the nature reserve and can not wait to take it farther afield.
The focus is amazing. Far better than our high quality binoculars. It has a hook up for taking photos with smart phones and my phone has an excellent camera so for the moment I will use that. When we go on holiday to France we go to a wetland area and this will be perfect to use with cameras when I can carry more equipment. Everything about it is just the highest and best quality though I do think the tripod could be a little bigger and stronger but then it does work fine. just a tad fiddly is all. Really not at all an issue.
The 60 x bring such delightful bird detail into view. You can really get to know them and see them feed and crunch seeds. Longer distances are amazing ,too.
This is a truly fabulous bit of kit. The cover is great and everything about it proving a real joy to own and use. I do not know the price so I can not commnet on the value but is is very ,very worth having.
This scope feels solid and well built. The optics are nice and clear and the 80mm lens lets plenty of light in. There’s a construction site about 500 yards away from me and I can read the health and safety notices on the chainlink fence quite easily.
The case feels well made and should offer decent protection from the elements.
The only downfall to this is the tripod, it’s a little weaker than I’d like, but it’s small and compact for carrying around so a small compromise.
There’s an adapter to fix a phone with so you can try and get some up-close photos with a mobile if you don’t have any camera equipment.
All in all very impressed!
This is a lovely looking spotter scope, and the magnification is an attractive lure for anyone wanting to get close up to their subject. Its rubberised, exterior finish, feels nice to the touch, the focusing and zoom dials have lovely dampening and the hood that extends out to prevent lens flair is a lovely addition. The base plate at the bottom of the scope has 2 securing points, but I wouldn’t bother with the token tripod that comes with the scope, its nice that they include it but you would be better off using your own tripod. It is lightweight as described and it doesn’t look like they scrimped on the materials. I love the extra magnification and everything looks crisp when zooming in, I appreciate the Full Multi Coating on the lenses, but in my tests, at least, there’s some significant purple fringing when zoomed right in, and around the edge, on the contrasts, quite a lot of chromatic aberration, pull this back to the normal x60 though and this becomes less noticeable. The waterproof Jacket that comes with the scope is an added bonus, rarely does this come as standard, and, although not a fan of phone holders, it’s nice they included one. The packaging and instructions are very minimal. I do not like the fact that the rubber eyepiece seems fixed, I would prefer one that can be removed and replaced with other options or allow you to fix a DSLR, if it turns out you can then I apologise for slating this feature, but I tried and it would not come off! I had to balance my camera over the top with the widest Barlow my t-adapter could fit. If you are an avid spotter looking to take in some close up views of any subject, you won’t be disappointed with this Scope, It’s a great addition to your kit and is made extra portable with the carrying strap that comes with the jacket. It’s recommended.
I live on top of a hill with a view over miles of countryside. A mile and a quarter away is our model club flying field and also a wood, home to a herd of deer.
Over the years I have had assorted binoculars to see who is flying on our field. The best was a pair of 20X zoom ones but the quality was not too good and they slowly deteriorated.
With this Spotting scope I shall be able to see the deer when they come out of the woods and even recognise which cub member is flying .
The scope comes with its own tripod although this is a bit small in my opinion and needs a table to put it on. I have a monopod which works really well and allows me to move the scope around much more easily.
THe Scope comes in its own camouflaged canvas cover which will protect it against minor knocks.
One is also provided with a holder for smartphones. However I only use proper cameras and don’t need a smart phone (May I make a comment here.) I live on the local dog walk with beautiful views across the countryside. I see mothers and fathers walking their dogs and even worse pushing their prams while staring fixedly at their smartphones. The mind boggles. Forgive me,I digress!!
To go back to the scope. I can see a window 700 yards away which has some cards on the windowsill. No, I can’t see what is on the cards but I am sure I could easily read a number plate at that distance.
I took this to the local deer park yesterday to give it a whirl and I have been very impressed, focussing is great and the optics are very clear and bright, actually outperforming my expectations, it didn’t display the price so I can really rate it on value, but it’s a solid scope, the tripod is a bit weaker than I’d like to see but they all tend to come with these type, the cover is superb and really offers the scope protection, really nice, all in all, it’s a great scope with superb optical clarity and a really good cover, highly recommended.
This is is a step up from my old one in quality and power and I am amazed at the difference , I have been a bird watcher all my life living on the side of an estuary famous for the species of seabirds and waders . With this 60X power range I can see the birds feeding clearly at low tide without having to disturb them in any way . The 80mm lens does let more light in helps with clearer images and from the sand dunes they cannot notice me and when I visit the bird sanctuary I use the hides . Great for looking up mountains or at the ships on the horizon . This kit comprises spotting scope , nice olive back pack , table tripod , phone adapter , camera shutter and cleaning cloth . I will post more pics when I start using the phone camera attachment . Cannot fault this for quality so giving a 5 Star review .
