I needed to cut through 4 breeze blocks that were cemented into place and without spending forever and a day trying to chip away through them with a hammer I figured this would be quicker, and within a few minutes I was packing this away as it done the job perfectly. A little bit of a kick back on it but once it’s up to speed it made a meal of them blocks without any real effort needed. A handy piece of tool for any DIY’ers garage or semi professional for sure.

Plenty of power and the disc went through the slabs like butter. Don’t think the disk lasted as long as some have said in other reviews but we have put it through its paces with grinding slabs, concrete and bricks. No water required for any but obviously VERY dusty. Would recommend to anyone.
Used these for years in 110v decided to go for a 240v save lugging the 110v box round . This as one hell of a kick when started and is a beast of a machine . not recommended for the DIY novice. Concentration is the key here do not let your attention wonder when using this and please wear safety glasses at leas

Ho gi diversi utensili della Makita e confermo la qualit del prodotto. E’ abbastanza pesante, c.a 5 Kg. e la maneggevolezza ne risente un po’, ma per quanto riguarda la potenza e la facilit di taglio non mi ha dato problemi.
I’m a 30yr tradesman, and I swear by Makita. This is a sturdy, stable, and powerful unit. Treat it with respect, because it really is very powerful. Its carry case is sturdy and well built, and it helps to keep it safe and dry, and stored correctly when not in use. Highly recommended.

This disc cutter is ideal for occasional or regular use. It has a strong storage box which is ideal for storage and transport. When starting it does have a little kick, but, if your prepared for it it is not a problem, and once you’ve tried it for the first time you are ready for it. I have used the cutter to cut concret pavers which it does with ease. I’ve also used it to cut a channel into rendered concret blocks, again it does this with ease, but you need to rest from time to time as the unit is fairly heavy when holding up to a wall, though not as heavy as a petrol equivalent. I would recommend doing a few trial cuts to get the feel of the machine. A few hours use of this cutter paid for itself if you were to employ a builder or drive layer.
Ho aspettato a recensire il prodotto in modo da provarlo; ho tagliato pavimento (piastrelle e massetto per una profondit di 5 cm) per circa 40 mq usando il disco in dotazione, trovato molto robusto e affidabile, taglia che un piacere e il disco ancora buono. Vero si che non va usato per troppo tempo altrimenti si surriscalda e si rischia di bruciarlo. Prodotto consigliato
A decent tool for handling the larger projects, handy moulded case too.
The grinder was heavy and has quite a thrust to start, but no-more than expected. It cut through my concrete path quite easily cutting through about 100mm thick slab. It cuts through block paving even quicker and easier. Excellent buy and very tidy to store in its carry case.

I got the grinder to cut some paving slabs and it did a brilliant job, it cut through them like cheese. Also supplied in a sturdy case
his grinder is more than capable to handle any task you throw at it,it is very robust,well made and powerful,it can be a little scary because of its power and should have a soft start rather than an instant full on ,overall a great machine

Really good buy with a good disc cut up a few granite boulders pretty easy
The kick is pretty sharp.

This is a beast of a machine and will cut through anything with ease. I have used for stone cutting and metal cutting and grinding it does everything. Comes with really good case which for a change is really easy to get grinder back in without having to have several attempts tucker cable etc anyway but which before it can close.

Excellent product with it being a well known popular brand, have used it and carried out the task it is designed to complete and also the delivery service excellent, arrived 2 days earlier than predicted.
This machine is a beast, has a kick like a mule and cuts like a dream. Brought this in order to cut 35mm concrete slabs and it did a fine job. But Note: Without question this is a dangerous tool and the correct PPE must be worn. Totally recommended.
When I received the grinder and case I was impressed with the weight of the grinder and durability of the case. I had a channel to cut through crazy paving and concrete. I was very impressed with both the comfortable handling and the speed with which the provided grinding wheel did the job. I am very pleased with the grinder and would purchase a Makita product next time I need to replace one of my tools.

Great product for the price, but not for the faint hearted as quite large torque reaction when starting up can catch u out would be better with a softer start up…
Pros: A beast of a thing, cuts through like butter, high quality, good price, compact sturdy carry case.
Cons: Angry, frightens dogs, small children and sometimes the operator, on the heavy side (due to its beastness)

It’s a bit heavier than my last grinder but will do the job with ease. Start up is a bit fierce, but will get used to this. It will cope with pretty much all the large cutting jobs from patio slabs to even concrete with the correct blade attached. Good piece of equipment.

Needs great care in use as it will slice through parts of the user like butter as well! Hard hat, wire mask, heavy gloves and ideally ‘chain-saw trouser fronts’ are needed.
Note that the grinder is not the ‘soft-start’ version and it jerks quite strongly into action.
One thing lacking is a brake that automatically slows the disk when the power switch is released; it is very easy to finish a cut and carelessly put the grinder aside while it is still spinning [Makita – are you listening?]

I love this bit of kit. I bought it for a specific one off job (to cut some concrete slabs with steel bars) with a view to selling it after, as it would be much cheaper than renting. I’ve decided to keep it as I now have other projects in mind. It is pretty easy to use but don’t get too complacent and make sure you wear protective gear.
It comes with a proper sturdy case, other than that it’s just a normal 9inch angle grinder.
It gives quite a kick when it starts, despite the claim of “soft start”.
If like me you’ve never used an angle grinder before, take care. Read all the safety instructions. Search You Tube for “Angle Grinder Accidents” if you need motivation Practice on something easy to start with! Wear all the protective gear.

It depends on which county you are in. Presumably in the UK, you can take the risk and use the one supplied.

… fr ein schnelles Geschft” (de Niro, “Taxidriver”) – Die Makita GA9020 lst hnlich wie de Niros Wumme so ziemlich jedes Problem, ist mit 2200 Watt stark genug fr Betonplatten oder Stahltrger, die Scheibe hat einen ordentlichen Durchmesser (230 mm) und kapituliert auch nicht vor groen Aufgaben. Dass man die Schnellspann-Mutter eigens dazukaufen muss ist rgerlich, bei einem “State-of-the-Art-Gert” sollte das Ding einfach dabei sein. 5,7, kg Lebendgewicht sind schon eine sportliche Aufgabe, andererseits geht doch nichts ber Hubraum. Fr uns ambitionierte Hobby-Handwerker ist das Thema “Flex” erledigt. Alternativen mit der Leistung waren nicht zu finden.

Very powerful, used it to cut a load of limestone and will use it for cutting stone for a rockery. Has a good kickback but easy to handle once you get going.

With a diamond blade it cuts through a 1″ paving slab like a hot knife through butter.
After using this baby to cut, no… slice through the most dense concrete block, it gave me a silly smirk on my face. I knew I had a beast in my hands. This thing is lethal with the diamond disc. Only thing I had to get used to was when you first pull the trigger it jerks into action, but after the second or third time you use it, it didn’t bother me the slightest.
Simply an amazing piece of arsenal to have as it does the job with ease.
cutter turned up with no carry case or blade, sent a email had a reply within a hour and both items came by courier the next day. great customer care the product works well and does the job it needs to 5 stars from me
The Makita one whilst slightly more expensive was worth every penny, it feels very solid and cut through the bricks I was cutting with ease. great sturdy case aswell.

I’ll sound one word of warning though – this machine can and probably will kick-back so STAY AWAKE. It can be tricky and difficult to control especially if used at an inconvenient angle e.g. stooped over.
I repeat STAY AWAKE.
For my own – and probably any application, protective gear is an absolute must – goggles, ear-protectors, mask, gloves etc.
I’m glad I have it and other applications will most likely present themselves – but treat it with great respect.
In an argument – the Makita will win.
