After buying a new device I suddenly realised my aging pc
had run out of usb ports, this is the perfect answer to that
problem. Inexpensive and simple, works just fine.
This is USB powered, and very portable. It is working well with my USB SSD drives, and my USB flash drives. I plug my Anker 4-port data hub in to a mains-powered data hub, which is permanently plugged in to my desktop computer.
i got fed up with trying to plug stuff into the back of my PC so i Baught this no more rumageing around the back of a PC.
the product works flawlessly i even tested it to charge up my phone and a few other items it it was fine, so far zero probs, i would recomend 100%
I think they could probably have shaved off a little more of the casing to make it slightly more compact, but I’m still happy with it. It works well with no fuss, which is what’s most important.
Bought to replace a powered USB hub that seemed to be sending current back towards the motherboard USB port…
Rejigged all the USB devices and made it so this hub now just had the lowest power drawing devices and seems to work fine.
No problem with latency using it with wireless mouse, keyboard and controller dongles as far as I can tell either.
This works well and the sockets are secure but I would have preferred a longer fly lead as I use it on an all in one . It would be ok on a laptop
Great sleek design with subtle blue backlighting of the ports so easy to find in dim light. Using with my laptop which only has 2 usb ports on it – now I can charge my phone, plug in my mouse and keyboard and have my usb desk fan running! Perfect.
When modern laptops don’t have enough USB ports for your desktop accessories this top quality product fixes that. All usbs ports work for all functions, charging, wireless mouse Adaptors, Bluetooth Adaptors memory sticks and external drives.
Fit for purpose. I will try to update if needed.
Does the job perfectly for the space I have it i
This is my second of these, and I’ve had the first 5+ years. Great piece of kit and clearly last well
Works fine but the USB ports are close together and had to use alternate sockets when plugging in USB sticks – not a problem if you only want to transfer between 2 sticks.
Works like a charm, very useful if you swap out devices alot! I’m personally using this to make sure I can always have my controller, hard-drive, and mouse can all be plugged in at once, despite my laptop only having 2 USB ports.
Only a few small issues I have to mention: Video capture devices like my capture card may need to be re-selected in program settings. When I unplugged the hub and plugged it back in the capture device was recognised as a different source. Not a major issue, but can be annoying.
One time my controller just stopped working until I plugged it into a different slot, not sure what that was about but its only happened once, just thought it should be mentioned!
Overall, still works wonderfully, no major issues!
Was introduced to this by an ACER Fitter who came to sort out an interface problem between the lap top and a device and found that the female export USB on the lap-top had become damaged and not conducting data.
Two others which worked no issue but I needed the third which was dead and another, making four ports in total.
This solved the problem by making one female USB ports in to four. allowing USB connections to printers, keyboards for peoples’ hand who can’t deal with small lap-top boards, CD-ROM drives and other plug in Memory stick/drives.
Three port machine becomes a 12 port with one of these in each of the three machine’s female ports. in effect creating 9 extra ports available.
Does not like plug in wireless internet inter-faces such as “net gear” as it relies on the CD Driver being accepted by the lap top itself as a dedicated inter-face
Very good, reliable interface and back up for lap tops particularly where USB ports tend to be more fragile. Can be carried in a brief case or pocket but would suggest that it is in some sort of envelope to keep the ports dust free.
Very good value tool and emergency periphory.
Simply fantastic product, exceeds expectations, I use it to connect my gaming equipment, using it I have experienced zero lag, even under stress, it is unrivalled, always ready to use
Had to add peripherals to a laptop. They all plugged in correctly and worked immediately. Did exactly what I wanted. Also the hub takes up only a small amount of space and is light. Perfect for waht I required.
They work and for the few months I’ve had it still works absolutely fine. I don’t move mine (i.e plug it in and out regularly) and use it for it’s extra ports to plug in my mouse/keyboards and speakers.
I don’t use it to charge anything or data transfer, I keep those tasks on the original usb port that came with the computer. Before my headset, keyboards etc were taking up those slots.
If you want the wired accessories you use with your compute to not hog up all your original ports this is a good solution.
It works for what I’ve mentioned, hasn’t broke so I’m good and happy.
Small and portable, handy for laptops with limited usb ports.
Easy to use pretty much just plug it in a usb 3.0 and that’s i
This Anker product works well after a couple of weeks’use. It does not get hot after being connected several hours and at the moment it did not fail at all. Looks good quality product and it does the job. Product arrived in time and well protected.
I needed extra USB ports for my laptop and bought the Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Data Hub. It was delivered quickly at a great price and it worked perfectly. A good choice if you are looking to add extra USB ports.
after getting it secure and stable it’s worked seemlessly. no noticeable lag
Had to purchase this as our laptop has only one usb port and the others are usb c,this worked as expected to be able to connect a dongle and a cable for an update to one of our devices.
It arrived very quickly and simply plugged into my computer to enhance its connectivity. Simple
Works well, the transfer speed for attached device isn’t affected, so it really is USB 3
I needed this USB hub to hook up my mouse and keyboard and swap them between my WFH laptop and my main PC. This device from anker does this job, nothing remarkable, just does it without any problems. The mouse and keyboard draw 700mA @ 5V so they are withing the rated 900mA that thisbproduct claims it can deliver, so far so good.
Bought as my new work laptop has fewer ports (connection points). Now I can use this little device to plug in to the only port on right hand side of my laptop, providing four additional ports in to which I connect my headset and mouse. If I used a keyboard, I could also connect that in as well.
Been using for more than an year, works well. Using it to connect a mechanical keyboard with lighting effects, and wireless mouse.
Great, lightweight, portable and fast but its a shame its only got 4 slots, wish it had 8 or 9
I went for Anker as they do other things I like. This is quite lightweight but Im ok with that. Its good for my sd card reader but not with additional powered HDD drive or ssd drive on an adapter, only one thing at a time. Mice and keyboards are fine
Brought this to expand the amount of USB ports on a tablet. Plugged in and works straight away.
No nonsense, no fuss. Just really solid.
Does exactly as you would expect. USB 3 speeds on the devices I’ve attached and no faults found.
Not everything purporting to be a USB hub works well but this one does.
Can not fault the product. Works great and does it’s job! Would recommend.
Arrived promptly, needed extra usb ports on a new laptop. It’s not powered, so is limited to the number of devices that require a high power draw. Max 800ma total. But ideal so I can plug in keyboard, mouse, memory stick. Working perfectly.
Does exactly what it is meant too. It gives you more usb3 ports.
It’s a good buy for this price and I will recommend i
Very compact and does the job well. Would have preferred a slightly longer lead otherwise perfect.
Not much to say. It’s a USB hub and the transfer speeds are what you would expect from a USB3 device. No issues at all.
Got it to use with my work laptop at home, as it came with less USB ports than I had peripherals to plug into it, and it got tired quite quickly having to unplug the mouse to plug in my headset.
Works fine, no problem plugging it in and getting the mouse etc plugged in.
Money well spent.
I needed more USB portals for my iMac computer as there are only 4 on the monitor. The Anker 4 port USB does the job perfectly. Plugged it in and it worked straight away when I plugged in my portable hard drive and other portable devices. It is lightweight so easily portable if required. Other people have commented on the short lead. The lead is short but adequate for my computer needs don’t like long tailing leads anyway!!! All in all a good produc
I bought this as I wanted a brand I could trust from amazon so purchased an anker version. Does the job and nice and sturdy. Gets enough powerf for a graphics tablet as well as two other devices but may take more.
I always buy anker products as its always best quality and very study these even includes all my iphone chargers and powerbanks.Great value for money.I bought this port for my anker power banks and all working perfectly, charges fast.
Not a lot that you can say about a USB hub other than that it works.
This one is compact and sturdy – feels well made and high quality. I’ve got on well with other Anker kit that I have.
Lightweight and easy to use. I have attached it to my laptop to connect mouse and webcam etc. there is a blue light which remains on even when I turn off the laptop so not sure if it is draining power from the laptop battery. Hence giving it 4*.
This is a lovely bit of kit for the price. Feels a little bit plasticky but an ideal size for modern day slimline laptops. I had to send mine back as I was trying to run too many things off it. But I would still recommend it those wanting a non powered USB hub 🙂
.
This is an essential device for laptop users who never have enough USB ports.
.
You will be able to free up the ports on your laptop and use this USB hub for mouse, keyboard, USB sticks and ONE external hard drive.
.
This is not intended for power users but is perfect for a laptop user who just needs more USB ports.
.
I needed more usb space on my ps5. I plugged in the camera and the vr box and it all worked fine.
Warning though , it won’t work with a wireless headset. It will work but it will cut out as that needs it own port.
Solid non powered USB hub, ideal for connecting keyboard, mouse, headset etc.
It has four ports and a dim blue light to say its connected.
The extension cable is nice and short so the hub doesn’t end up on the floor.
Very portable and easy to connect and remove.
Trusted brand and delivered by Amazon.
I’ve bought a number if these to expand the number of usb ports on different brands of televisions – they are small, light and can be tucked out if the way ..and more importantly they just work !
Great value for money at this price and the brand is established enough to speak for itself quality-wise. Have experienced slight delays at times but generally good and reliable for your usual every day use. Definitely lightweight and portable enough to keep in your laptop bag.
Excellent piece of kit for you laptop, especially when laptops these days have less and less ports. I’ve always found Anker products good (I also have a mini speaker from them when I travel).
As working from drags on, and devices have increased, I bought this item to accommodate a memory stick, a mouse and a headset, which is does without any problems.
My daughters personal laptop and work laptop don’t have enough usb ports for the things she uses. This has allowed her to now leave these items connected to this hub and when she swaps laptops its just a matter of just unplugging this usb hub and plugging it into the usb 3 port on the other laptop. Saves time and also aids her productivity.
You really can’t skimp TOO much on USB hubs, there are even cheaper ones them this I’ve tried, but this one is a happy middle ground of doing everything it should, with no extras, and not costing too much.
Any cheaper and likely you won’t be able to use every hub for hard drives (as I sometimes do) and you have to spend a lot more to get any insane bonuses like video pass through or other types of port.
A handy little thing to have around for plugging in several things to your laptop. I plugged in a microphone and my mouse at the same time and it worked well. Haven’t tried using up all the ports yet. So far so good.
This item was a xmas present and as yet I have not had any fee back from them
I like how portable it is, and the quality of the build is good. Although, it is plastic. The wire rubbery, a sign of good quality. It has a LED which is nice but I personally don’t need. The ports fit in the USB Male ends good.
However, I would have liked to have a longer cable but perhaps that would have ruined the portability. When I disconnect the USB from my laptop, and connect it back again, it takes about 2-4 secs of it actually recognising my peripherals and then procedes to power them on. It has only happened once that my mouse software said my mouse wasn’t plugged in yet it was, but was easily solved by disconnecting and reconnecting it. But to be fair, I think that was my laptop’s fault.
Great little hub. Quality item.
Power drain concern not affecting me. I’m running the keyboard, webcam, and phone charging off it fine. I didn’t plug in the mouse as well, as not use all the time, so goes directly into the laptop when I do use it.
So I wanted to break out a USB 3 port on the docking station I use for my laptop. For space reasons, the laptop’s on a stand, the dock’s underneath the stand and if I want to plug something into it (a thumbdrive, say) temporarily, it’s a bit of a pain. So I bought this hub to put some ports where I can reach them.
Does it work? Yes. Works perfectly. Neat, slim, functional, all that.
But the cord is only a few inches long. So it emerges from under the laptop stand and because of the various legs and bits, it has to sort of stick out sideways rather than tidily flat.
Does this matter? Possibly only to me. So I’ve dropped it a star but if I could have dropped it half a star instead, I’d have done that because there’s little enough wrong with it really and I could just buy a short extension cable…
There are cheaper USB hubs on the market however I always like to purchase from known brands when using anything to provide power to any devices. In my use case, I am using this at work to power several items, notably a Raspberry PI, Amazon Echo, and two Lightning Cables to charge instore devices. It is receiving constant power so it is important it is safe and reliable to be left on whilst nobody is present.
The design is nice and sleek. The finish of the product is smooth and ergonomic and the quality is very good. The cable length is more than adequate and can of course be extended easily enough with an extension cable if necessary. In my instance, this is fixed to a frame in a permanent setting however if you were travelling with a device and needed a portable USB hub this would be more than sufficient for your needs. It is lightweight and takes up no space at all so would easily fit in a laptop bag or a pocket with little to no impact.
The device has no mounting points. In most instances I suspect this would not be an issue but would be handy if it came with some way to mount to a desk or surface. In my permanent setting I popped the rear cover off and used two slim profile screws to attach to a frame after using a countersink to provide seating. After covering the screw heads with electrical tape I was able to pop the body of the device back onto the cover which I had screwed on allowing the unit to be permanently fixed. Although this is not ideal it suits my needs. Due to the slim profile there is little space within however the slim profile screws do not affect the functionality or contact the main board. The electrical tape is simply to remove any risk there is a risk of shorting out. Obviously, this would void any warranty on the device.
Got no problems with its functionality so far, been using it for a few weeks to provide a few extra ports on my laptop for an external keyboard, mouse, and usb audio headset. The short wire is quite stiff, and the plug is sort of bulky for a usb plug. Might be annoying if it wasn’t hidden away behind my desk
Usually, when buying usb hubs I prefer to use active ones. However, because I know the capabilities of my usb bus, plus I know the requirements of the devices I’ll be connecting, I felt safe that this would be ok.
I must say, I’ve been very impressed so far. It’s very lightweight which makes portability easy. It is truly usb 3 compliant with backward compatibility with other usb versions too.
My usb ports have been filled with a mouse and a microphone, leaving no room to plug in and USB storage or readers, whicj is quite inconvenient.
This hub enables me to re-juggle my USB connections while still having room for more (bus power allowing).
If i had one complaint, it would be that the usb cable on the hub isn’t replaceable. The cable comes all kinked (for packaging), which of course, after time this will damage the cores, making it unusable. If only the cable was replaceable, that would be excellent!
So yes, for a passive USB Hub, this gets top marks.
This has 4 ports but you can usually only use 2 due to power limitations of USB port on your PC, make sure that if you need to power more than 2 devices, you get one with separate power connector or the device itself has separate power source.
Used this extender for my HP Zbook that has mainly USB-C ports and one USB-B port. Works very well, being using for 6 months + and still working well as would be expected from and Anker product.
This is a really high quality item, I’m delighted with it. It’s beautifully finished, and even the packaging is lovely. The sockets are a snug fit and feel really well made. It’s replacing an older lower quality hub which has sloppy sockets and loses the connection if you move it, which was causing my external USB camera to drop out during Zoom meetings. The new Anker hub connects perfectly and I have every confidence it’s going to go on working for years. Really impressed.
Upgraded my home computer and needed extra usb ports.. This fit the bill perfectly.. It’s super quick for me due to what I am using computer wise… The speed of this extension will only shine if your equipment is capable… Remember… You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear…. It’s small yet very capable… I’m well impressed.. Cheers
Like so many now working from home and with two monitors, headset, keyboard abd mouse there was not enough lap top sockets. This has solved it all and now have ports free. No issue with any devises plugged in. So happy bought more for co-workers (how to win friends and influence lol).
Bought it as ps4 slim only has 2 usb ports. Needed extra for connecting steering wheel or charging controllers along with vr and external hard drive. Recommend this if you are getting vr head set.
No complaints. Its a USB port extender and it works well. No feedback or connection issues with my gaming mouse or headset. I have my Bluetooth receiver connected through this and my sound is always perfect on logitech headset. My mouse has no issues every click reads.
Great dock. Construction feels well made and durable, is portable, and I haven’t experienced any bandwidth reduction when plugging in flash drives through the dock. Handles multiple peripherals without any issues.
I think some of the negative reviews I’ve seen are unfair. The dock is within the USB-standard specifications, so it delivers upto 5V 1A which it divides between the four ports as necessary. This is normal and is how USB 3 A-Type hubs are supposed to function and it’s perfectly adequate for connecting mice, keyboards, webcams and flash drives. The reviews complaining that it doesn’t deliver more power are being silly, it can’t deliver more power then a single USB port because that’s what it’s ultimately plugged into (and this is fine for the vast majority of cases anyway).
I bought this device to add more USB ports to my LG TV. I connect a Bluetooth Keyboard and a USB Stick linked to the TV’s recording facility. The keyboard works well but recording facility is only half functional — it will playback existing recordings but is unable to record new ones.
Bought this knowing it limitations (power limits).
So far it has worked great and allows me have multiple items connected to my Lenovo laptop (with its single USB port!). I can now copy files from my camera/video work whilst still having a mouse connected. Previously with my old usb2.0 hub it would take soo long I would have to remove the mouse just to get the full wire speed of my laptops usb3.0 port.
Great, buy one if you want a small, passive/unpowered but fast little hub.
Excellent product. I did my research as I wanted to plug in my mouse, a camera (with ring light) and a speaker phone. Saw many others that may not be able to do what I wanted. So probably paid a little more that what I should’ve but we’ll worth it.
Quality wise, it’s good. Functionally, it’s awesome. I’ve had items plugged into all sockets and it powers them all fine from my laptop.
Would have no hesitation in recommending it.
This works well. I had a problem with using all 4 ports and 1 was to charge a power bank. That made all 4 not work when I needed one for a mouse and the other for a keyboard to be connected to a work laptop. So I guess I was pushing it. But otherwise it functions well. Idk about camera quality.
I got this for my Xbox One S. The Xbox has three USB 3.0 ports; two in the back and one on the front. I have a external HD and the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner plugged into the back. I wanted to plug in a wireless mouse and Keyboard (each on its own dongle) and leave a port free at the front for my HOTAS and other wired controllers. I have the Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Data Hub plugged into one of the rear ports. The HD is plugged into the other as it needs to be powered. The Xbox One Digital TV Tuner and keyboard and mouse dongles are now plugged into the Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Data Hub. All three work flawlessly with no connection problems.
Do you pay over the odds for Anker stuff? Yes.
Is it worth it? Yes.
Everything they make is so well-designed, so logical. A USB hub is the ultimate purchase where the cheapest one should be fine. But anyone who actually works with a USB hub every day will know that there is nothing more frustrating than a bad one.
This is a good one, and is well worth the premium.
It works, it was delivered in good time. It is lighweight and has a very short cable but I use it with a USB extension cable so no problem for me. It seems of at least reasonable quality but has a cheap plastic case, so may not be robust if carried around and used in different places, but for sitting on my desktop in perpetuity it is fine. It seems expensive to me but it was amongst the cheapest available when I bought it.
One thing I noticed is that when using it with a webcam (and extension cable), the webcam has to be used in the position nearest the cable, otherwise the camera shows flickering, and it is worse in slots further away even when no others are in use.
I have two of these dongles. Currently using one with my PS5 to connect the PSVR, and the other with my MacBook. Both work with no issues. On my MacBook I have a range of devices connected including a SSD drive. Dongle is plastic but appears to be of a good quality. Came well packaged. Would recommend to other PS5 and MacBook users.
