This was replace a 6 year old cctv system, had looked at many different types but bought this as the price was also good.
Products came but could have been boxed better as they were all loose items inside a larger box of which 1 item was damaged but managed to glue it.
The pictures are very good and night vision better than I thought over a long distance, so I would say a good product to buy but still new as approx 2 months old now
Amazing bit of kit, but I was very disappointed that the HDD wasn’t included.
Super system for the price, but be aware of a few quirks if upgrading /swapping from an older system. Pros – great 265+ encoding, so light on hdd use. Easy menu navigation system, and relatively easy to set-up. Also accepts input from network cams (both WiFi and network wired – total number depends on system purchased).
Cons – comes with 2.6mm cams (quite wide so not great for detail at distance – 3.6 mm would be a better all-round). The motion detect using the “smart” feature is a pig to use, not as good as the older systems which used to just place a red bar on the time line for a motion detect event. The new software uses “smart” playback, which plays fast for no event, then slows to X1 for a motion event – a bit quirky, and not my favourite system. However, probably not unique to Annke, as the vast majority use generic software. Can be played back in standard format for an easier manual search for changes (i.e. Moved/missing items etc). Overall great price and great system, easily expandable with multiple wired cams (BNC type, and /or network/wifi cams) . System accepts a combination of the two types up to maximum system spec. I would recommend purchase after I got used to the newer software system, and for the price, virtually unbeatable.
The picture quality both night and day is exceptional, having been a CCTV installer for years this is very much value for money.
This is an excellent product given the price point. The IR is great as is the daytime picture quality.
Setup was easy and the included templates fit drilling are a fantastic addition.
I did have an issue with one of the cameras which Ankee customer services replaced immediately. Good to know the service is also great.
Please note (I didn’t) the cables are different at each end. Camera & DVR (Digital Video Recorder). Make sure you run them the correct way around .
Lots of options in the menu to customise the cameras etc.
One negative comment is the noise from the DVR. I would rather pay more for a quiter DVR but I can’t really complain for the money .
The app to view live footage and go through recorded footage is very good.
What a great set for the money, picture quality is very good when set to 4k .the night vision is also very good , the options at set is vast, as a non tech guy this was the hardest part of the the set up but once it was done I am very impressed. It comes supplied with enough cable to go from back of my house to the front where I had the box set up . Its very easy to go through the playback part . As I said I’m not a tech savi person so I had a problem finding out if the system overwritten old video files once the 2tb hard drive was full, after a 10 minute wait on the customer service Web chat , this issue was resolved very quickly and explained in a way that I could understand, all in all very impressed with the system and also the customer service I got . Highly recommended as it was better than I expected especially for the price I paid for i
as a cctv operator with 14 years of experience bearing in mind i have not had any experiance in installation of cctv systems this was a breeze.

great product, better quality than my old annke cctv , only problem i have found is that on only one camera there is floating lines going across screen (more noticeable in night mode) but over all its great.

Well made and spec’d kit. Pictures look great both day and night. Camera’s are hard wired rather than wifi so fitting was a little problematic as I don’t fit under th e eves as easily as I thought!. However, I deliberately chose wired, so I didn’t have battery issue and to stop system being hacked (you can connect to internet, but I’ve not) so can’t really complain.
This is a nice system at the price. The four 5mp cameras feel quite flimsy and lightweight, but the picture quality is so much better them our old 2mp setup with each camera offering a far wider angle. Night vision is also excellent, clear and crisp with very good detail. Only time will tell as to the longevity of the actual cameras. I have three additional cameras installed (not shown in the image) and the 5mp cameras are certainly better quality.
Set up was relatively easy once you get used to the system. The handbook is of little use in all honesty, but it’s intuitive enough and you can turn off the irritating security log in once set up. It’s a home system after all so a bit of overkill? Each to their own of course.
My only gripe is the noise of the HDD cooling fan. It is intrusive, especially when compared to our old system which had been in use for years. I’ll definitely be looking at a replacement fan asap!
All in all, a good system at a good price.
So I wanted to use the product for sometime before writing a review. I purchased the package in 2019 and it came with the 5mp HD cameras and the box.
I opted to purchase the a 2TB harddrive separately.
So It was a breeze installing the harddrive in the box as well as connecting the cameras. I would suggest you get additional help if in doubt.
On to the camera – they really do shine through. Very crisp and detailed video capture. I stay in a gated property and the cameras picks up in great detail any car coming in from the gate.
Final thing is the remote viewing from my phone works. I travelled out of the country on holiday and was able to monitor the property.
Overall great product. If I was being greedy , would have loved to have gotten additional cameras for the same price!!
I ordered this to replace an old 4 camera, 2mp system. It was really easy to setup out of the box, and even worked with my older camera’s, so I have the option of using 8 wired camera.
Setup was very easy, the wizard guides you through the process, including connecting to the mobile app. it’s so easy that I didn’t even need to follow the manual.
So far i’m impressed, the system works as designed, and the pictures are nice and crisp.
I am pleased with this unit. I bought it for home surveillance and have to say the 5mp cameras are better than expected. If you want a cctv system on a budget then this is ideal. The setup is fairly easy, but I am an IT Engineer, so it’s probably easier for me than most people. The phone app allows you to see the cameras and play back video wherever you are. I managed to configure the email settings, but this might be a bit tricky for most people. However I have not yet setup the motion detection as yet so can’t comment on that. The Annke website I found quite helpful in helping with the setup.
The system came with 4 cameras and I managed to add an existing camera to it (non Annke), also I added an ip camera (non Annke)
Overall I am quite happy, but we will see how it performs over time
Easy to install, good daytime picture, good night vision very clear, better than my hik vision system, the only down side to this system are the cable connecters are a little big so oversized holes are needed

I ordered the DVR with the 4 x 5MP cameras, quality of the picture is excellent. Very easy yo setup, and even worked with the cameras I already had from a different make CCTV. Setip of IP camera also very easy to do.
Have this now working with 8 Cameras (4 Suppiled) and 4 I already had, and 2 IP camera.

Great product. Does whAt you need it to do. Still figuring out how the software works… Also I needed to buy a repeater (as the dvr was not near my broadband) to plug the unit in and have remote viewing. I also had to purchase a hardrive in order to save the footage. It still was a good purchase after these costs. My friend works in security and he was impressed with it.
Arrived promptly. Connected to the monitor ok after following the log in procedure. Having a problem getting it onto my PC but I can monitor ok from my phone or tablet.
This product looks very smart and gives clear pictures. Don’t be fooled into thinking it is good for outside use because the cameras are waterproof as the TROUBLE is it detects every raindrop and sends notification emails constantly, Have to switch it off when it’s raining so might as well not have it. It would be useful for indoor use. We have certainly made a mistake in purchasing this for our needs. We have now had to purchase PIR cameras which we hope will work with this system. So my advice is buy the product for indoor use only and make sure you buy a PIR system for outdoors. Annke help is very hit and miss and not that helpful. We have had to use YouTube to help with any issues we have had.

Headline not a problem for me because its what i wanted, to thwart thieves using scramblers against the easy to install wireless cameras. You will need to lay cables inside conduit – no big problem 100 yards of strong blue water pipe is about 50 from a builders yard – just the job, just don’t connect it to water ! All good and good fun project!
Bought the system for the house. It was easy to setup and install but you need to know where you want the cameras and DVR to be placed as more cable may be needed. The system was good value for money.
Better than expected, the cameras are easy to set up and position, showing excellent coverage both in daylight and at night time, only downside was feeding the cables around the house, I would definitely recommend them to friends and family
Overall a good system but do find the setup to be drawn out and easy to get confused. I’m pretty savvy when it comes to IT but found it difficult setting up on various equipment such as Ipad and iphone and PC, however, with the help of Annke this was quickly sorted out. Would have to say their aftersales help is excellent and in my view that says a lot about a company. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was because of the difficulty setting up. One other niggle is the cooling fan on the DVR is noisy and it appears the noise is coming from the air extracting through the small vent on the side. When the cover is off, you hardly hear the fan, so could do with some improvement on the design of that. I have seen comments that if the hard drive is no more that 2TB you can disconnect the fan, but not sure about that, guess it depends on the ambient temperature of its location. Even with these niggles I would recommend this system.
After doing a lot of research, I decided to opt for this system as it seemed to tick all the boxes – 5mp cameras for better images, better night vision, higher waterproof rating (IP67 as opposed to IP66 on the Swann cameras) and a 2gb hard drive. Unfortunately for me, though, the very next day after I ordered the system, the price was reduced from 265 to 226! I went ahead with the purchase anyway…
The first thing that impressed me on opening the camera boxes was the fact that Annke had included a template for the drill holes needed to fix the cameras to the wall. A simple thing, but so few manufacturers do it – so well done, Annke! The cameras are very light and are very easily adjustable to twist and turn in whatever position they need. The only thing that surprised me, however, was how short the cable from the camera is – it is about half the length of the cable on the Swann cameras.
Installing the cameras was a simple enough job for me, as the cables were already in place from my old system (which had 7 cameras). I removed four of these cameras and was really happy to find that the existing drill holes for these matched perfectly with the Annke ones! However, because the cables from the cameras were so much shorter than my old ones, I had to trace back each cable to extend them enough to reach the new cameras. Not a particularly difficult job, but time consuming nonetheless. I left the other 3 old cameras in place.
Next, I replaced the old system box with the new one – again a simple job with all the cables etc. already in place. Once it was plugged in, the system booted and I immediately noticed how quiet the system box is – it can barely be heard!
After going through the simple steps in the setup wizard, I was looking at the images from my new system on the monitor in no time. What a difference! The new cameras have a significantly wider lense than my old system and they cover so much more area. The quality of the picture is awesome, too – especially compared to the old 720p cameras (which, by the way, work perfectly on the Annke system). Night vision, too, is amazing and more than matches my expectations.
The user interface is also extremely detailed and easy enough to understand. It is possible to mask areas from cameras, time recordings, etc. and these settings can be applied either to an individual camera or to all cameras at the click of a button.
Setting up the mobile phone app was also a simple process, although I did run into a couple of problems trying to ‘share’ access to the system on my wife’s mobile device. In fairness, that was probably down to me trying to get the job done too quickly without taking the time to read/follow instructions!
So, overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this system.

Brilliant. Picture quality is excellent. Control of motion sensing and masking of neighbours gardens good. Much preferred to all the wireless IP cameras I’ve had which never connect and need power so aren’t wireless really. Easy install for a competent diy’er with a moderate amount of tech knowledge. Took me about 6 hours over two evenings to install. Covers the whole of the front and back of the house and have spent about 4 hours tweaking what it does when. Exactly what I wanted
I found this CCTV System – Model = DW81KD by Annke to be easy to install. The video footage is very sharp and clear. I ordered the 2tb hard disc and fitting this was also easy.
Amazing for the price. The cameras are easy to set up and great quality pictures, recording is excellent. The iOS app works well on my phone and iPad. I purchased the version without a HDD as I already had one knocking about, even that was easy and all required cables were supplied. Camera cabling is sensibly long as well. Overall very impressed and I would highly recommend this product.
After giving this system a few months to get used to, i am now of the opinion that my first review was a bit harsh. I now believe that the cameras are very good, the setting up was easy and i think i was expecting the play back to be of the quality of a system that would cost mega bucks. With that said i think the overall pictures are of great quality, far better than 1080p. After speaking to the seller about some technical things i am extremely happy with my purchase. The seller, system and advice given has been First Class. I don’t think you will buy a better system for the price this one costs.
Fairly easy to install, easy to setup, great picture, really impressed, motion detection can be a bit sensitive at night because of all the insects attracted to the IR light but I can deal with that, great software, love the alert system, fast a d reliable so far. Thumbs up.
Used the camera’s for home use.. picture quality very good, cables long enough for all four cameras on every corner of large house , don’t forget to buy hard drive separate as not included.. overall would definitely recommend!

I switch from a Sannce to Annke and the quality of the overall kit is phenomenal. The software on the DVR is so much more professional and user friendly the mobile app is brilliant. Setting the cameras up was easy enough as simply unplugging old cameras and replacing with newer ones. I do struggle with number plates however which is unfortunate but it could be due to the way I have them installed.

Great item with great picture quality, can’t coment yet on the night vision or motion detection as I have not yet tried them yet although I did connect every thing just to check everything was working which everything worked great

Only thing to be aware of is having the cameras pointing too close to walls as this can bounce the IR lights off and decrease night time visibility but is correctable within the settings if needs be.
I’ve not managed to get the live notifications to appear on my phone yet but working that out now!
It would have nice if we could access through multiple mobile phones. This one allows only one at a time . There is only black colour cable, no choice.
I have bought Annke cameras before and they have lasted so thought it was a safe purchase and so far so good.
As other have mentioned it looks like a rebadged hikvision setup but for the money and the quality I dont think anything else comes close.
I have yet to try putting IP cameras to this but as long as they support onvif it should be straight forward.
System appearance is very similar to Hikvision and can be added to there software if needed
I am pretty sure this is a Hikvison and Hikvsion probably created Annke for the cheaper consumer market as the graphical interface / setup is pretty much identical to HikVision.
The system also works with the Hikvision iIVMS-4200 PC software so it much better to use than internet explorer and the web plugin that you have to download.
Something that it does not seem to do that the Hikvison does and that is when using continuous recording to also mark events / motion detection in the timeline , but not really a big issue.
