I only have the illumination from the house number light and yet the color and clarity is great!
These do really see well in the dark, like daylight with only a tiny amount of light around from distant streetlamps. They do suffer from contrast difference, so if some of the view is dark and then in part a security light comes on, they may not adjust and then be over exposed around where the security light shines but see correctly elsewhere. But otherwise they see in good quality day or night and are a huge improvement on the infra red type camera I had before.
I have had this over 6 months now and am very impressed with its performance.
I thought I would address some of the bad comments I have seen here as well as add some info of my own experience.
I also have access to a C800, and the resolution of both is good giving a crisp and clear as each other. it can clearly read a number plate 20 meters away (remember this has quite a large FOV). These are fixed focus cameras so if the image is not clear its focus may have been miss set and the camera should be replaced. I had that issue with a camera from another manufacturer.
It is wired, but you don’t need to rewire your house, it works with a decent powerline adapters, and you can get flat ethernet leads which can be run under carpets etc.
Detection, as long as you chose one a Smart Event (there is a bug with human detection in Basic Event so that it only works with FTP, Annke are meant to be getting this fixed).
I use the smart human detection to trigger an alert on my Echo’s and apart from just 1 or 2 false triggers it has been very accurate. (Note in order to trigger the announcement I use custom scripts on my NAS to make use of a trigger from the camera alarm server).
This camera is mounted looking through a window, so IR led’s would me no good for me. It is watching my front garden. It needs some light, which in my case is provided by a somewhat distant street light. And I switch to a lower shutter speed at night, although it is still fast enough to catch passing people and cars, just not good enough to get the number plate of a passing car.
For Storage. If you are an expert, I’d recommend a NAS as it gives you more scope for customization, otherwise get an NVR. I haven’t tried recording to an SD card, but experience from other cameras is that the amount of footage is limited and I think you need to be careful of the SD cards lifetime so really only record motion events.
Anyway overall I have been very happy with my purchase.

This camera is not working with older DVR’s
I’ve a few of these at home and they are great for the money. Relatively easy to install (although had a few issues with fixed IP address) and powering over ethernet in my case certainly made that easier.
Once up and installed, I’m integrating with Home Assistant, but these could also attach to a standard NVR and would work well.
This camera is a great unit – same thoughts as the dome version I have – easy to install, after a few network issues, and great picture qualiy.
In my view these ones look better than the dome version – which is slightly larger (or rounder obviously) and somehow sticks out more. that will depend where it’s placed of course, but I find this disappear into corners more easily.
Ich habe inzwischen 2 dieser Kameras im Einsatz, auen montiert zur berwachung von Tren und Gelnde.
Funktionieren sehr gut, Bildqualitt ist Top, und speziell die Farbaufnahmen in der Nacht bei minimalem Licht (Mond reicht) sind ein echtes Upgrade zu den Kameras die ich dort vorher montiert hatte.
Weitere dieser Kameras werden sicherlich folgen.
Die Bewegungserkennung mit den SmartEvents funktioniert auch sehr zuverlssig wenn man erst einmal begriffen hat wie diese einzustellen sind. YouTube hilft dabei. 🙂
Now for the downside… The documentation that comes with the camera is near useless. My guess is that Annke assumes an installer will be installing this camera, and not a DIY-er. I am a DIY-er, but with a technical background. Not saying you need to be super technical, but some familiarity with Onvif and NVRs will help. My PhD psychologist brother-in-law (smart guy) probably would not be able to install this camera without help. That said, the camera does use DHCP and a QR code to setup… which makes things easier than some other cameras.
For the heck of it, I did install the Annke Vision app on my iPhone. Yeah. It’s bad. Totally useless, with only minimal features. The app doesn’t even appear to allow for fully configuring the camera. In other words, if you’re buying this ~$300 camera, you should also buy a decent NVR system to go with it. Otherwise, you’re gonna get more value from the crappy ~$40 Wansview cameras I put in my attic.

This, along with 22 other cameras, are through my Blue Iris setup, sitting at 23% total utilization. Running this in dual stream. Picture is outstanding at night, almost night vision. Daytime is also very good, on par with my 4 year old Hikvision 4k camera. I have 3 of these cameras – they are that good.
Also, I hope an upcoming firmware will allow me to turn off the led light. We have plenty of light from porch and driveway lights.
Using SADP, it is easy to find and configure the initial parameters, such as IP. This allows changing the subnet to match my network and password change.
My only hope is they release a 3.6mm or higher version for closer reading of license plates in my cul-de-sac.
Support so far has been good. Best night color camera on the market.
Ich habe sehr viele Cameras ausprobiert. Von EZVIZ,Reolink, SV3C, Insta und keine hat mich in der Nacht berzeugt.
Die Nachtsicht mit der NC800 ist einzigartig, man erkennt endlich Gesichter und Nummerschilder in der Nacht.
Da wo viele Cams scheitern, legt die Annke NC800 erst richtig los.
Die Mglichkeiten der Einstellung sind sehr gro, kein Vergleich zu anderen Herstellern.
Das einzige was ich als Kritik habe das Smart Events (Linienberschreitung) nicht in der App als Push zu sehen sind. Die Funktion ist auch nicht zu 100% zuverlssig.
Andere Funktionen der Erkennung funktionieren sehr zuverlssig, er erkennt Menschen und Autos sehr gut, das reduziert Fehlalarme extrem. Ich denke das durch zuknftige Updates hier noch einiges geht.
Die Verarbeitung ist 1A, alles ist sauber und gut verbaut und wirkt nicht billig.
Die Camera kann entweder per POE Netzwerkkabel mit Strom versorgt werden, oder mit einem Netzteil (nicht dabei) es funktioniert aber beides. Das Netzteil ist ein Standard wie es bei 99% alle Cameras zu finden ist.
Die SD Karte kommt von unten in die Camera das ist gut gemacht.
Es gibt eine FTP funktion, leider speichert er dort dann aber nur Bilder keine Aufnahmen. Per NFS oder Netzwerklaufwerk kann man allerdings Aufnahmen abspeichern. Es gibt eine Cloud funktion allerdings ist unklar wo man diese Mieten kann. Nice 2 Habe wre die Speicherung auf Googledrive.
Die NC800 funktioniert ohne Probleme mit der Surveillance Stadion bei mir (NVR1218) auch die Smart Events lassen sich dort anwhlen.
Das kleine Licht an der Camera fr die Nachtsicht ist sehr dezent und ein Warmes Licht keine grelles Kaltwei was blendet oder ein Flutscheinwerfer gleicht. Auch hier kann man einstellen wie hell es leuchten soll. Die Camera braucht sehr sehr wenig Umgebungslicht!
Eine wirklich sehr gute Camera die mit ein paar Updates sicher Perfekt wird. Ich hoffe das Annke bei diesem Modell am Ball bleibt und keine Eintagsfliege ist und vergessen wird.

I am really impressed with the low light sensitivity of this camera. It can appear to be completely dark outside but the camera makes it appear as if it is daytime. The resolution and sharpness of the video feed are excellent during the day and at night too.
