The only thing which can be muted is the beeping when it detects movement.

This airlo pro 4 security camera system comes complete with 4 cameras with 4 rechargeable batteries, attachments, a quick start guide and a video monitoring decal.
The cameras oustand outside weather and definition is excellent, also they are quite responsive and sensitive, will send notification to your mobile via app. Their infrared lights give a great night vision, very impressed with the imagem quality. The cameras are well built and sturdy. Easy to set up, comes with step by step instructions. App has great functionality and is versatible.
The batteries last a adequate amount of time depending on the amount of times they are triggered.
The only downside for me of this cameras its the required subscription, you get a 90 days free trial, after that depends on the plan you choose, either 8.99 for unlimited cameras for a month or 12.99 for two months which the recording will be saved on a cloud system.
Don’t like having to pay fee for all the functionality but still don’t find the subscription price expensive.

We installed this system a couple of months ago so I’m able to comment fully on performance, setup and battery life.

The pack contains two units and two mounts. One mount is screwed to a wall, and we used that over the front door since the unit screws in, making it a little harder for someone to steal it. The other mount is magnetic and, once attached, you can then snap the unit in place and it’s held rigidly in place.
As for the units themselves, they’re charged up using a magnetic clasp that fits to the bottom. Each unit includes an internal, removable battery and is easy to assemble. I charged each one up, just to be sure the batteries were at maximum before installing.

The cameras are set up and controlled through the Arlo app which walks the user through the entire process. If, like me, you have a Eero wifi system, you’ll need to put it into 2.4Ghz mode temporarily to get the Arlo to recognise the network. Other than this, it was pretty straightforward, though I had to reset each of them by removing and re-inserting the battery during the process.

The product comes with a three month free trial of Arlo Secure which, after the trial is up, is 2.79 a month for a single camera. Sadly, without a subscription, you lose cloud video recording which robs the units of their main purpose. So, that’s a 5.50 commitment after splashing out a significant sum on the hardware in the first place. This is a recent change, I understand, and an unwelcome one.

The app itself works well and makes good use of the Arlo’s ability to distinguish between animals, objects and humans. You can instruct your Arlo to ignore, for example, cats, to reduce the false triggers. It’s pretty responsive, and you can use it to speak to people outside. Each unit has a spotlight that you can choose to disable if it’s not needed.

After two months, both cameras had around 55% battery life remaining, having been moderately active. So, for us, the claimed six month battery life is unlikely to be achieved. This isn’t a problem in our case as the cameras are easy to access, but if they were mounted out of reach it’d be a major inconvenience.

Overall, this is a premium product that looks as though it’ll last over the long term supported by an excellent app.

The picture quality from these cameras is crystal clear, whether you use these for security or as we do for watching the late night wildlife you wont be dissapointed.
It clearly states in the product description you recieve a free 90 day trial to the arlo service then i think its about 7 each month therafter which is much cheaper than paying security charges.
You have the option to talk through the camera and respond, voice quality is very clear.
When you set it up on your mobile / tablet you will get notified of any movement, it will tell you human, animal or vehicle. You can change the names of the cameras , we have front door, car, fox and badger and squirells .
The cameras themselves are a great discreet size with a good range , my front door camera captures my pathway, single road and onto the pavement approx 40m away which is far more than i expected from such a small camera.
Easy set up just scan the qr code in the instruction manual, easy release to charge the cameras and your phone /tablet will tell you when the cameras need charging.
Excellent in all areas, it’s amazing to watch the nightlife in our garden, during dusk a light will come on when movement is detected, really doesn’t bother the wildlife as they come up very close to investigate the cameras when the light comes on then contue foragging in our garden.

This double camera kit comes in a really nicely designed box and everything is presented beautifully and everything is easy to access. Inside the box you get the two cameras, two batteries, an adjustable wall mount, a magnetic wall mount, hardware for both mounts and a charging cable with three pins and two pin plugs.

The mounts are more than adequate for holding the cameras in locations that cannot be easily accessed by someone, but they both suffer from the same issue, they are exceedingly easy to unmount the cameras from. So if you place these where someone can just unscrew or with the magnet mount literally just grab it off it, then you need to mount these in a place where they are safe from easy access. Sure the cameras will record the person messing with them, but that won’t help you get the 200 camera back if they walk off with it unless they’re unmasked, or you happen to know who it is. So to keep your investment in these cameras safer, you’ll have to place them out of reach to reduce the chances of a crime of opportunity happening and losing one or both of the camera units. This obviously will make it more tedious to charge them, but the battery life so far has been superb, I can easily see the battery lasting 3-6 months depending on the frequency of motion detection and how often you check the live feed.

The next issue I personally have is that the cameras don’t actually have any onboard storage or the option to add an SD card at all. Though, in the scenario where someone does steal one of your cameras, this can be a good thing as it will mean that they don’t have access to the video that is stored on the device. The bad part is that if you don’t want to pay monthly for a subscription which is 8.99 for arlo secure unlimited the cameras are essentially bricked unless you purchase a compatible arlo base station which will allow you to have local video storage on your home Wi-Fi. Even with this subscription plan, you only receive 30 days worth of cloud storage time for each clip, so you can’t go back further than that unless you’ve manually downloaded and archived the clips yourself from the app or portal. Though, even with the arlo base station you will lose out on few of the AI driven features.

So if you are going to be buying these cameras and are against being tied into a subscription then this brand may not be for you, I personally don’t mind having the limited functionality with the base station so in the long term once my 3-month trial has ended I’ll be looking to purchase a base station and a suitable storage medium. Which adds a significant cost onto the top of an already expensive product.

To put the subscription costs into perspective, the base station costs 108 currently and a generously sized microSD at 512gb is going to cost another 50 or so. The monthly subscription if you have more than one camera, which you will if you purchase this set, is 8.99 a month, so in just 15 months you’ve spent the same amount on the cloud subscription plan. To me, it feels like a bit of a no-brainer getting the base station, but situations and acceptance of yet another subscription service will vary from person to person. Depending on which base station you get you can also use an USB device like a portable HDD or SSD as a storage device which could cut costs down if you happen to already own one you could dedicate to the task of storing local footage.

There is also the additional cost if you need to invest into additional mounting options, as you only receive one magnetic and one adjustable indoor/outdoor mount in the set.

So that’s the negatives and reservations out of the way, and essentially everything else is fantastic with this product. They have great Wi-Fi connectivity and the setup process is basically as easy as can be with the app installed on an android or iOS device. There is also a web portal which allows you to set up devices and access the footage on your cloud storage and check the cameras live, which is a welcome addition as many are only usable through smart devices like mobile phones and tablets. Though, if you want to watch the clips on PC you may need to download them and watch them locally rather than from the web portal itself which can be a bit tedious if you are slogging through a bunch of clips to find something.

When you need to charge these you need to take the camera down and bring it indoors and use the provided magnetic charging cable to charge them from either the provided wall plug or any 5V 2amp USB port you have around the home, even in a pinch you could charge them using a powerbank.

The picture quality is fantastic at all times throughout the entire day from morning to evening, you can easily keep track of important locations and have automatic motion-detection which will keep recorded video snapshots of the event either on the cloud if you are using the subscription service or on your local storage hardware via a base station purchased separately. The audio system is decent, the speaker is a little quiet in my opinion when you activate the siren mode, which kinda defeats the point. However, you can easily hold a conversation through the devices if you want to make use of it as an intercom.

The cloud portal or app gives you a lot of control and settings over the cameras, and I am confident in saying that you can fully control essentially anything you would ever want or need through the provided menus. You can set up zone motion detection, push and text notifications, automatic siren control, two-way communication, device sharing to other accounts and even little things like turning off the spotlight or status LEDs to allow the camera to be much more unnoticeable.

The weather sealing on the cameras has been flawless as they are built very well and no real water ingress points other than the front of the unit which is not only sealed with a tight fitment between the body and the camera insert but also a rubber o-ring. I haven’t had any issues with the weather and these cameras at all and don’t expect too honestly.

I’ve had no issues with losing connectivity or anything with the Wi-Fi, though both of mine are installed relatively close to my home router at the moment, but it has no issues going through the brick walls to reach them. You do unfortunately have to use 2.4ghz with them, and I’m unsure how they would handle routers that run both 2.4 and 5 on the same SSID as I have my home network separated for other IoT devices that require it.

To finish, and I do apologise for the very lengthy review, but I wanted to give a thorough explanation of what to expect if you buy into the Arlo ecosystem of products. You will need to consider and factor in the costs of a subscription or base station with a microSD card or USB HDD and whatever additional mounts you may need to suit the environment you want to use it with.

My issues stem mostly from the ecosystem rather than the individual products as from my limited exposure to their products. From my experience so far with these two cameras the product itself is really well-made, but you are paying a significant price for that quality and either a recurring subscription or another 100+ purchase on top of that to allow you to even use the camera in the most basic capacity after the first 3-month trial.

We were looking into getting a camera system for the outside of our house and have been very pleased with these. There are four cameras in the pack with four mounts. The packaging was very impressive and everything neatly laid out.
The app was easy to download and everything is explained on how to set up with step by step instructions. You get 90 days free subscription and then it goes on to paid subscription and price depends on how many cameras you are using.
The cameras come with a 50% charge in them but I recommend you fully charge them before use. The battery charge would definitely not last 6 months if you are in a high traffic area and your cameras are alerting you all the time.
The picture quality is very good, even at night. These cameras also come with 2 way audio and alarms. Overall we like these cameras and do recommend them.

This Arlo Pro 4 system with 3 months free trial subscription to the app is nothing short of brilliant. It’s very straightforward to install and position the 4 included cameras and connectivity to the wireless network is also a simple process using the well produced app.

Now I’m not going to go on about the subscription cost like others have as I knew what I was ordering and that it would come at a cost which is nothing new and in fact we already have a subscription for our doorbell just as millions of people do. The cost is transparent and is good value for the capabilities of the app and its functions as it is user friendly and provides a wealth of options that other systems simply don’t have.

Image quality is very good, day or night and the cameras offer a genuine deterrent to would be intruders, trespassers or potential antisocial behaviour near the home or workplace etc.

Battery life is ok if the cameras are setup to record only when something is detected as opposed to recording day and night which will obviously impact the life of the batteries greatly. The magnetic charging cable is great but i would definitely recommend purchasing the 25ft extended charging cables as they make life so much easier and can be left connected permanently should you wish.

Arlo know what they’re doing and it shows in the Pro 4 system. They are as good as it gets and support is very responsive and obtainable if required.

It’s just very good!

The Arlo Pro4 wireless cameras arrived in a sealed and branded Arlo box, inside they are well protected and everything is positioned neatly.
Upon removing the cameras I checked them over and could tell immediately that they were excellent build quality and well designed, they have smooth lines and corners and look pretty neat.

What’s in the box : (2) Arlo Pro 4 Cameras, (2) Rechargeable Batteries, (1) Magnetic Charging Cable, (2) Wall Mounts and Screw Kits, (1) Quick Start Guide, (1) Video Monitoring Decal.

To get started all you need is the cameras and a smart phone with the Arlo app and be connected to your home Wi-Fi network, the cameras can be positioned pretty much anywhere, they can be used indoors also but they are designed to be used as an outside security camera.
You can position the cameras pretty much anywhere but they are Wi-Fi dependent so ensure it’s not in a poor signal area, use the mounting kit provided and then use the app on your phone to scan the barcode and set them up.

The cameras have a 2k camera and it’s a noticeable difference over my current cameras that I use, the cameras are fully weatherproof and the battery will last between 3-6 months depending on how often they are used, charging them is simple using the magnetic charger on the underside.

A 3 month free trial will be activated when setting them up and this will offer cloud recording when motion is triggered amongst other options, once this ends you will either have to pay a small monthly sub or purchase the base station and install an SD card or USB device, my preferred option is the small monthly fee as the base station is around 150 and you’ll need an SD card also.

Features included are: 2k HDR recording, night vision (colour when light is activated), 160 degrees field of view, wireless and works without base station, spotlight, siren, 2 way microphone, weatherproof, built in rechargeable battery.

Overall an excellent pair of camera’s that can be directly connected to your smartphone, but to unlock the full potential and a rolling 30 days cloud recording then a monthly charge would be required, the monthly charge of one camera is 2.79 and for more than one then the Arlo secure unlimited plan would be required for 8.99 per month, this may put some buyers off but if your using Arlo for your home security then it’s a small price to pay for to feel safe, excellent picture quality, easy to charge and a reliable system, thank you.

The Arlo Pro4 camera set came with 4 cameras, 4 batteries, 2 magnetic bases, 2 screwfix bases, and 1 charger lead with mains adapter. I was initially concerned about how well the magnetic bases would hold the cameras but we have just gone through Storm Arwen which was pretty savage and both cameras remained in place perfectly.

The charging lead for the cameras is an Arlo propriety 3 pin and magnetic connector and you only get 1 in the set. It attaches easily to the camera and to fully charge a camera it takes approximately 4-5 hours. You can speed this up I found by turning the camera “off” in the app. Arlo boast a 6 month battery life in these cameras but obviously this varies on how often it is triggered. I have been using these for just over a week and the battery are 87%, 52%, 84%, and one battery has already run out and had to be charged. This one is watching over our chickens so there will be more activity. I have set up activity zones to only the outside of the cage so the chickens shouldn’t trigger the camera but they must still be activating it.
So the camera with the most battery left is on our front door which has 87% left. That means it uses roughly 13% per week, so I would get just over 7 weeks use out of that.

The image quality is excellent, even in dark light. The 2k videos are crystal clear and allow you to zoom in quite close without the image becoming pixelated. At night time the cameras do have night vision but also have a flood light that is activated by motion which gives you full colour videos at night.

It is worth noting that for the videos to be recorded and stored in the cloud you need to take out an Arlo subscription. The cameras come with a free 3 month trial subscription, after that you can either pay 2.79 per camera, or 8.99 per month for unlimited cameras to store for 30 days or 12.99 for 60 days. The subscription also includes smart filtering which detects if it is an animal, a person or a car in the video and allow you to filter to quickly find what you were looking for.

Overall I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the videos from the 4 cameras, I’m impressed with what is included in the subscription, I would only question the 6 month battery life however this will vary depending on the number of visitors you have.

This is a great security set and so easy to fit, even for me. The hardest part was deciding where to position the cameras.
Good quality video image quality that means that you can clearly capture images as required. I have fitted one camera at the front of the house and one at the back where I am able to watch live stream or see anything that set it off. The one on the front door clearly identifies the individual and I can even have a remote conversation if required.
160 range allows you to position cameras to cover a wide area if required and a spotlight comes on when motion detected to ensure that image is clearly identifiable.
I have the system linked to my phone so I am fully aware wherever I am of what is going on at my property and can even answer on door camera if required. I have even spoken to visitors remotely to tell them where to deliver parcels which was very useful.

Zunchst ist zu sagen, dass sowohl die Kameras, als auch die Zubehrteile , wie von Arlo gewohnt, von sehr guter Qualitt sind.
Alles ist einwandfrei verarbeitet und fr mich gibt es da gar keinen Grund zu klagen.

Die Einrichtung der Kameras im WLan- Netz funktioniert tadellos (2,4 GHz). Ein separater Hub ist nicht notwendig.
Die Bildqualitt ist sehr gut, ebenso die Nachtsicht…gut.
Leichte Verzgerungen der Live- Bilder sind evtl auch dem WLan geschuldet.

Insgesamt ist das Set sehr gut, allerdings strt mich (vor allem bei dem Preis), dass man, um alle Features nutzen zu knnen, ein Abo kaufen muss.
Tut man das nicht, ist der Funktionsumfang deutlich eingeschrnkt.
Schade.

Die Arlo Pro4 Wlan Kamera, war meine erste Wahl, da sie wirklich KOMPLETT kabellos funktioniert.

Durch den internen Akku, hlt die Kamera mehrere Wochen mhelos durch. Da ich sie in der Garage nutze, war mir diese komplett kabellose Anbindung extrem wichtig. Diese Funktion habe ich bei keiner anderen Kamera entdeckt.

Die Aufzeichnung ist einfach weltklasse. Auch in der Nacht wird ein farbiges Bild aufgenommen.

Die Bedienung ber die App funktioniert ohne Probleme und einwandfrei.

Vorsicht ist lediglich bei der Speicherung ber die Cloud geboten. Dies funktioniert nur ber einen kostenpflichtigen Abo-Serivce. Dies muss man sich vorher bewusst sein, ansonsten funktioniert nur die Livebertragung und -berwachung.

Ich bin absolut zufrieden und gebe daher die vollen 5 von 5 Sterne.

Ich muss vorab sagen, dass wir bereits Arlo Kameras Pro 2 haben und so unser System mit diesen beiden Pro4 erweitert haben. Dies war auch kein Problem. Die Installation war mal wieder sehr leicht. Einfach eine passende Stelle auswhlen, den Halter anbringen und die Kamera wird mittel magnetischer Verbindung angeklickt. Man sollte bedenken, dass man hier und da die Kamera abnehmen muss, um den darin befindlichen Akku zu laden!

Die Kamera zeigt ein sehr klares Bild auf und das auch in der Nacht. Die Verbindung mit dem Handy ist sehr simpel und sobald eine Bewegung registriert wird, bekommt man eine Meldung auf das Handy und kann es sich live ansehen.

Ein netter Zusatz ist die Sprachfunktion. So kann man mit dem Einbrecher” sogar kommunizieren. Ebenso kann man es so steuern, dass jedes Mal ein akkustischer Alarm los geht, wenn eine Bewegung bemerkt ist, was wir aber nicht aktiviert haben. Doch es ist auch mglich dieses separat zu steuern und vom Handy aus zu aktivieren, wenn Bedarf besteht.

Nun aber zur Datenspeicherung. Diese ist fr 3 Monate kostenlos und danach kostet es eine monatliche Gebhr von rund 10 Euro. Dies entfllt aber, wenn man einen Hub oder eine Arlo Basisstaion hat, welche wir eh haben, so dass uns diese Mehrkosten nicht entstehen.

Der Akku hlt unterschiedlich. Komm darauf an, wie viel Aktivitt an der besagten Stelle ist und wie oft die Kamera sich auch einschaltet. An sich ein gutes Kameraset, wenn man eine Arlo Basisstaion hat, sonst sind die Folgekosten einfach zu hoch.

Die Kamera hngt bei uns seit 4 Wochen ber der Terrasse und ich muss sagen ich bin von der Video Qualitt ganz angetan. Zuerst war ich etwas misstrauisch, weil das Modell Pro4 keine Videos in 4K erstellt, wie sich gezeigt hat ist 2K aber vllig ausreichend. Die Nachsicht ist auch in Ordnung; sicherlich kein militrischer FLIR-Standard aber noch akzeptabel. Akkulaufzeit nach 4 Wochen noch 50%, sa hatte ichmehr erwartet, wir gaben allerdings auch viel Bewegung im Garten. Die WLAN Funktion welche ein Hub berflssig macht, hat mich am meisten berzeugt. Videos speichere ich auf einem USB Trger, hier sind die etwas minderwertigeren Videos definitiv ein Vorteil. Abo sollte aktiv gekndigt werden, macht fr mich berhaupt keinen Sinn.

Expectations from Arlo were met yet again. As we all know Arlo makes high end, quality security cameras and system and therefore Arlo Pro 4 Is an interesting product to talk about.

First, I would say that Pro 4 compared to Essential cameras has many new developed features and I have to be honest they are amazing and thoughtful.
Starting with “Catch” feature, which allows you replacing or charging battery without moving the position of the camera. While mentioning the battery there is another cool feature which is magnetic charging cable which allows you charging the battery without plugging any cables in the camera. Keeping all in mind it is worth mentioning battery capacity. It is claimed that camera will last for 6 months but that is not really the case in real world. Battery will last only 2 weeks to a month depending on its activity and set up you choose.

Next major thing to mention is 2k resolution recording. Compared to Arlo Essential which can record only 1080p Pro 4 has a lot of improvement and image quality is way better and smoother. Colors are more realistic and not on the yellow side, day recording is better than night recording which as expected. Spotlight can help with night recording but those changes are minor and only up to some distance again depending on the place and set up of the camera.

Direct connection to Wi-Fi was simple and straightforward process and is another benefit for this model. It allows you to use your phone or PC directly with camera without needing of the hub. But as with benefits there always some downside of the feature. After 30 days trial you will not be able to record/use cloud storage without subscription and will lack of few good features which include different AI notifications and history recording. These things are well worth mentioning and would be good to keep in mind as next to the price for Cameras, which, at the time of ordering them was just above 500, you will need to break a bank and pay for monthly subscription.

Overall, an amazing set of security cameras and high standards were kept just as always. I had a chance to get my hands on many Arlo products and Arlo Pro 4 is great.

I already had an Arlo Floodlight camera on the front of my house before using this Arlo Pro4. I therefore had already set up the Arlo app and have been paying 2.49/month for cloud storage of recordings. I’m using this Arlo Pro4 to monitor a garden room.

I found it easy to set up add this Arlo Pro4 to the app alongside my existing Arlo Floodlight (just make sure you disable 5GHz WiFi if you have it as set up only works on 2.4GHz networks – after setup you can use it on the 5GHz network). The image quality is very good, especially in daylight but it’s as good as any other camera I’ve tried at night as well.

Motion detection is very reliable. The spotlight is really helpful – obviously not the same as the Floodlight, but provides a strong beam to either light the path or light an intruder and put them off.

Being completely wireless is a clear selling point of these cameras. I have a large old house and it’s not suited to a wired system. I use an offical Arlo solar panel with my Arlo Floodlight which works well apart from in the depths of winter, but that’s because the floodlight uses a lot power up. The battery on this Arlo Pro4 can supposedly last up to 6 months. I don’t expect it to last that long with the particular settings I have on it (you can easily customise what it records and when etc in the app), but it doesn’t take long to periodically remove the battery and charge it to max.
