Wir haben die Kamera hauptschlich getestet, weil meine Frau sich alleine im Haus etwas frchtet wenn ich in der Nachtschicht bin.
Ich war anfangs etwas skeptisch. Vor allem als ich gelesen habe, dass der Akku bis zu 6 Monate halten soll.
Ich habe die Kamera nun genau einen Monat im Einsatz.
Der Lieferumfang ist simpel gehalten.
Die Kamera, ein Akku, ein Ladekabel, eine Wandhalterung und Gebrauchsanleitung.
Die Installation ist auch sehr simpel. Bentigt wird WLAN und eine Smartphone App.
Nach der Einrichtung hab ich ein bisschen rumgespielt, mich mit App und Funktionen vertraut gemacht.
Meine Skepsis ist sehr schnell in Begeisterung umgestiegen.
Die Kamera hat ein schnes, sauberes Bild.
Das Live Bild ist ein wenig Zeitverzgert. Man kann smtliche Einstellungen durchfhren.
Dauerhaft aktivieren, nach Zeitplan oder auch nach Standort. Sprich, wenn ich in der Arbeit ankomme soll sich die Kamera aktivieren.
Man kann sich sogar aussuchen auf was die Kamera reagieren soll. Personen, Autos, Tiere, Pakete und sehr cool soll die Kamera auch auf Rauchmelder reagieren. Da muss aber Rauchmelder und Kamera in richtiger Position sein.
Vor der Nutzung habe ich den Akku zu 100% geladen, mit den Spielereien und der richtigen Nutzung 2-3 mal fr je 8 Stunden in der Woche hat der Akku in einem Monat 12% verloren.
Das ist schon sehr stark. So sind die 6 Monate auf alle Flle realistisch.
Aber es gibt doch einen Stern Abzug, und zwar wegen eines Kostenpflichtigen Abos. Die Kamera kostet 250 Euro, und da soll man dann auch noch fr geworbene Funktionen zustzlich monatlich etwas abdrcken. No-Go!

Bis auf die Abo Sache bin ich sehr zufrieden und begeistert und kann jedem der sich eine berwachungskamera zulegen diese hier bedenkenlos empfehlen.

Night vision, picture quality and motion detection all very good. WiFi performance rather weak even though there’s no walls between the hub and the camera. Battery life could be much better. First recharge needed after 2 weeks! Worried about the corrosion resistance of the recharging contacts as we live by the sea.

I had previously ordered a different CCTV device and it was so complicated getting every aspects of it sorted that I actually gave up and put it in a box in the cupboard. However this product was the exact opposite and it’s currently happily up and working amazingly.

Due to my previous problems with CCTV, I asked my brother in law to fit this one (he has previously been an electrician) and even he was impressed with it.
Comes securely packaged with a really stylish look to it.
My brother in law advises that setting it up was not complicated at all, as everything was included and straight forward to do. He said you wouldn’t need a tradesperson to put this up for you; a novice is more than capable.

Although it comes with all the pieces for the secure bracket, we did end up adding a few bits to make it extra secure, especially considering the price and quality of it. I’m not entirely sure this is necessary as what is supplied is adequate- I think this was just more us being cautious than anything else.

One of the things I love about it is no ugly wires everywhere and complicated hub set-up’s. Just some average household WI-FI and away you go. This system requires you to have an app, but again that was very easy to do as it almost walks you through step-by-step.

Now up and running I’ve been over the moon with it. There are so many features it offers you are almost spoilt for choice. Vision, both day and night, is fantastic. Some of the other features, like zoom, are handy too. I almost ‘enjoyed’ watching in great detail as my parcel was ‘flung’ one day and the contents broken. Made it very easy to explain what happened to the parcel company when you’ve got a clear view of it. Sound is also really nice and clear. You can play around with this for other features like speaking through it (my kids loved that one when I told them I could see what they were doing outside) and activating a siren if needed. I’m still playing around with the different features and have left all the alerts on at present so I can ‘get to know the system’ but it’s easy to turn off some of the alerts so it’s not constantly activated if not needed.

It advises it has a 6 month battery life before needing re-charging (cable provides), which is excellent. I’ve currently had it up just under a month so can’t quite comment of the accuracy of that, but so far so good for me.

Does come with a 3 month free subscription and then a small subscription fee afterwards which I feel is truly worth it for all the features that you get and the quality of the item.

Priced at 220 feels reasonable for all that you get with this. At first glance I wondered if it was overpriced, but I certainly don’t think that now I have it- I think it’s well and truly worth the value of its price tag.

Overall I’ve been really pleased with this item and more than happy to recommend. If it can survive the past month of heatwave, storms and just overall chaotic weather then it’s bypassed all expectations for me.

This is a great kit, there’s no doubt, and Arlo are one of the top when it comes to wireless surveillance cameras, but for the price, I want much more features without a contract.

Right from the start, let me tell you that, not only is this is a review of a free product (that is I get these cameras for free for reviewing them), but also, I already have some Arlo products, of which I am a fan, so naturally, you would be correct to believe there is a certain amount of bias towards these cameras, but let me tell you, I will be perfectly and brutally honest with this review.

The cameras do feel good in the hand, perfect weight and feel premium, and 2k is very much the sweet spot for video surveillance for me, even over the 4k which is a little over the top for what I want and takes up too much data, that’s not to say that you sacrifice detail with these cameras, I don’t think you do and I was seeing licence plates, clearly, far from my house. So far so good.

and a charging cable.

The magnetic mounts are good, don’t worry no one is going to thieve a security camera that will record to your phone and if you’re worried mount It high up or in a concealed area. You get the idea.
And what’s more, additional accessories, Like solar panels to keep the cameras charged, and chargers and mounts, can be purchased and added to your system and they all integrate, even the other cameras and hubs.

Ok you’ve already done your research and you probably know that these cameras are top of their game as far as image quality is concerned, this is true but the audio is a bit of a let-down, I found, that’s both ways and the alarm, for me, could do with being louder. The spot light however is piercing and I love it and the colour night vision images are stunning with lots of detail.

Now for the down side. The contract as with all these cameras is just the biggest let down, you loose so many features with the app if you’re not signed up to a contract, that’s a tenner a month which frankly seems a bit of a killer blow for me, I would settle for just a few more features like “call a friend” or “person, animal, vehicle detection” , alternatively, I would consider a contract at the price they are asking if it included contacting the police and active station monitoring, which it does not.

Now the rant’s over, what I do like is that I found that activity zones worked very well and the speed of detection was very good, it was very fast at getting the notification out to my phone.

Getting all my cameras to connect was painless they all connected to my network, however, I have a solid network set up and you may want to consider range extenders, boosters or a mesh system to get the best coverage.

Overall, I like the cameras, they to a superb job at covering every angle of my property, but it’s use is limited if you’re not prepared to get a contract, and that’s what this set up is all about, committing to a contract with Arlo and if that sits Ok with you then you can’t go wrong, and you get a 30-day trial to make up your mind about that. For me though, I am sick to death of contracts, if it’s not my phone, it’s my streamed entertainment, etc and if I was paying nearly 600 quid for these cameras, you can bet I would want 600 quid worth of functionality out of them instead of paying another 120 quid a year for the privilege. Yes, I’m that tight! So, purely on the contract side of things, I am taking 1 star off on what could have been 5 stars for some very nice cameras.

denn nur mit einem Abo-Modell kann man dauerhaft z. B. die Cloud-Aufnahmen fr die 2K HDR-Bildqualitt nutzen. Trostpflaster: Als Kufer erhlt man vorab ein 3-Monate-Probe-Abo und kann erst einmal in Ruhe ausprobieren, in welchem Umfang man spter ein kostenpflichtiges Abo abschlieen will.

Ich verwende bereits seit Jahren diverse berwachungskameras von unterschiedlichen Herstellern. Aktuell setze ich u. a. mehrere Reolink Argus”-Kameras und Blink”-Kameras ein (innen u. auen), welche gute bis sehr gute 1.080p-Aufnahmen liefern, aber ein starkes WLAN-Signal bentigen.
Auch mit der Netgear Arlo Go hatte ich brigens bereits gute Erfahrungen gemacht, denn diese wetterfeste Kamera kann dort punkten, wo kein flchendeckender WLAN-Empfang mglich ist. Ausgestattet mit einer V-Sim-Karte (D2-Netz) sorgte jene Kamera an geeigneter Stelle fr einen einwandfreien Empfang und eine saubere, ruckelfreie Qualitt bei der bertragung. Allerdings ist die Qualitt auf HD-ready (720p) beschrnkt, was bei dieser Art der bertragung aber auch eher von Vorteil ist.

Die Arlo Pro4 Spotlight WLAN berwachungskamera sind da schon ein etwas anderes Kaliber, denn hier wird echtes 2K geliefert. Das ist auch gg. Full HD nochmals ein gewisses Plus an Detailgenauigkeit und Qualitt. Wer das bereits vom TV / Blu ray etc. kennt, will auch HDR nicht mehr missen. Wozu braucht man das ? Da die Kameras ber keinen echten optischen Zoom verfgen, liefert bereits das Original(-Bild) gewisse Reserven, um auch beim Hineinzoomen / Ausschnittvergrerungen noch Schriften, Gesichter etc. besser erkennen zu knnen. Auerdem ist ein knackig-scharfes Bild letztlich besser, als ein nur” scharfes Bild. Das kann man auf einem greren Wiedergabegert umso besser feststellen. Dennoch ist allerdings eine Auflsung in 4K nochmals ein deutlicher Schritt nach vorne, kostet aber auch mehr Ich finde, dass 2K hier einen sehr guten und zeitgemen Kompromiss (qualitativ u. preilsich darstellt.

Eine nennenswerte Einschrnkung gibt es aber dennoch: viele Hersteller wollen mit ihren Kameras und Abo-Modellen Geld verdienen, was auch hier der Fall ist. Das ist bei solch hochwertiger Technik irgendwie auch verstndlich, schlielich hat man viel in die Entwicklung investiert und auch Nachfolgemodelle wollen (mit)finanziert werden. Dennoch mu man diese Krte schlucken: Dass nmlich 2K HDR-Bildqualitt zwar mglich sind, aber zum Speichern aus Dauer ein zustzliches Abonnement notwendig ist. Nach Ablauf der Probezeit stehen dann zumindest der Fernzugriff und Live-Stream nebst Benachrichtigungen weiterhin zur Verfgung und die Kameras werden nicht auf einen Schlag nutzlos. Aufnahmen auf eine lokale SD-Karte (nur mit Arlo Basisstation) werden auerdem ebenfalls untersttzt.

Was bietet die Arlo Pro4 Spotlight WLAN berwachungskameras auer scharfem 2K-Live-Stream (ggf. Aufnahmen) noch ?
– es ist kein separater SmartHub erforderlich, die Kamera kann also direkt ins WLAN_Netzwerk eingebunden werden
– Die Mikrofone sorgen mit der Geruschunterdrckung tatschlich bei Bedarf fr eine einwandfreie Verstndigung, selbst dann, wenn z. B. der Nachbar in der Nhe mit dem Benzin-Rasenmher mht, oder es drauen windig ist.
– Farbige Nachtsichtbilder sind mittels Spotlight” eine feine Sache. Gewisse Abstriche gg. Tageslichtaufnahmen muss man natrlich dennoch machen. Auch das Thema Bildrauschen ist hier natrlich vorhanden. Aber die verbaute Optik bietet schon einiges mehr als Standardkameras mit ihren 720p/1.080p-Auflsungen und S/W-Bildern
– Mit dem kaum verzerrten 160-Sichtfeld deckt man einen groen Bereich ab und vermeidet entsprechend Beobachtungslcken. Egal ob Innen- oder Auenbeobachtung: so lassen sich ganze Rume abdecken und auch grere Eingangs-/ Grundstcksbereiche komfortabel einsehen. Das spart ggf. weitere Kameras.
– Ein weiteres Plus an Sicherheit bietet das Spotlight, welches ggf. mit tagheller Beleuchtung punkten und Fremde oder Tiere verscheuchen kann. Dieser Komfort ist wirklich angenehm, weil keine Zusatzleuchte bei Bewegungen im Dunklen aktiv sein muss, um Farbe” zu erkennen.
– Natrlich kann auch eine Sirene ausgelst werden (nur testweise genutzt), oder man erhlt entsprechende Benachrichtigungen, wobei sich auch nur bestimmte Bereiche einstellen lassen, welche berwacht werden sollen. Das kenne ich aber auch von anderen Kameras.

Aber: eine kabelfreie Installation” heit natrlich auch, dass die Akkus in den Kameras nach gewisser Zeit wieder aufgeladen werden mssen. Ein magnet. Ladekabel macht es mglich, dass die Akkus dabei im Gehuse verbleiben knnen. Unabhngig davon ist die Entnahme einfach, zum ffnen des Gehuse drckt man unten auf einen Knopf, worauf sich das Vorderteil herausschiebt Ersatzakkus bereit zu halten ist dennoch nicht verkehrt. Auerdem ist es von Vorteil, wenn auch die Kameras leicht zugnglich sind, sonst kann das Wechseln bzw. Aufladen der Akkus schnell nerven.

bersicht der Punkte, die mir aktuell wichtig erscheinen:

Einsatzort: berall dort, wo LAN-Kabel stren, oder keine direkte Anbindung an den Router (ggf. ber Powerline-Adapter) mglich ist.

Installation: Die Anleitung” ist knapp, hier erfolgt ein Hinweis auf die Arlo App, sodass eine erfolgreiche Installation gelingen sollte. Ansonsten gibt es im Netz natrlich auch weiteres (Video-)Material, welches die Einrichtung und den Umgang mit den Kameras auch visuell beschreibt. ber die App kommt man aber auch einfach ans Ziel.

Arlo-App: Die Arlo Go-App (akt. iOS-Vers. 3.5) erlaubt auf dem iPhone und iPad die einigermaen komfortable Verwaltung von mehreren Arlo-Kameras. Voraussetzung ist natrlich ein obligatorisches Konto bei Arlo ( E-Mail und Passwort). Ein Einrichtungsassistent fhrt ansonsten in der Konfiguration” zum Ziel, sodass die Kameras grds. schnell und unkompliziert in Betrieb genommen werden knnen. Innerhalb der App ist dann auch ein jeweiliges Abo zu buchen (kostenlos bzw. kostenpflichtig).
Nicht immer klappt die Verbindungsaufnahmen (ggf. auch nach Benachrichtigung) sofort, das Ganze wird durchaus auch verzgert. Der jeweilige Stream ist wohl relativ datenintensiv. Im Zweifelsfall mache ich es wie bei Reolink mit hnlichen Problemen: App schlieen und neu starten: das hilft. Da die Probleme aber nicht dauerhaft/ nachhaltig auftreten, ist das an dieser Stelle nur ein Hinweis. Ansonsten ist die App-Steuerung gewohnt komfortabel. Die Kameras lassen sich (einzeln) aufrufen, sodass man stets im Bilde ist.

Auflsung/ Optik: Aktuell verwende ich berwiegend Full-HD-Kameras (z. B. Reolink Argus). Bei einem Weitwinkelobjektiv zhlt der Gesamteindruck, der hier bei der der Arlo Pro4 durchaus beindruckend ist. Die automatische Bildkorrektur korrigiert weitestgehend Verzerrungen, die physikalisch bedingt sonst blich sind. Nichts wirkt verwaschen, die Farben, die Helligkeit und der Kontrast kommen sauber rber. ber einen echten optischen Zoom verfgt allerdings keine Kamera.
Bei der WLAN-bertragungsmethode ist natrlich auch zu bercksichtigen, dass eine 2K-Auflsung hhere Ansprche an die bertragungsqualitt und Speicherkapazitt stellt, somit ist fr ausreichenden WLAN-Empfang zu sorgen.
Bei der Arlo Pro4 muss man keine nennenswerten Abstriche machen: Hier ist eine wirklich gute Optik vorhanden, die tagsber bei typischen Lichtverhltnisse ein natrliches, scharfes Bild liefert. Bei zunehmend schlechteren Lichtverhltnissen geht die Qualitt aber auch nicht in den Keller, welches ebenfalls noch als gut zu bezeichnen ist.
Bei vlliger Dunkelheit hat man auch in der Nacht ber ein paar Meter ein mehr als nur brauchbares Bild. Wer 2K-Qualitt kennt, darf diese hier auch erwarten, wobei die Kamera allerdings nicht fr permanentes Aufzeichnen konzipiert ist. Man schaut sich bewegungsabhngige Aufzeichnungen an, oder wenn man ein Livevideo aufruft.

Empfangsqualitt: Sorgen Sie fr einen durchgehend guten WLAN-Empfnag, sonst kann es durchaus Probleme inkl. Verzgerungen geben ! Bei meiner FritzBox kann ich mittels App (WLAN messen”) die jeweilige Qualitt vor Ort berprfen und ggf. Manahmen ergreifen. Eine nderung des Aufstellungsortes oder ein zustzlicher Repeater knnen hier Wunder bewirken. Bei uns ist der jeweilige Empfang zumeist gut bis sehr gut. Die Wiedergabe der Aufnahmen klappt bislang zumeist ohne Stocken und ruckelfrei, was definitiv nicht selbstverstndlich ist (wie man immer wieder nachlesen kann)

Alarme: Bewegungen werden gut erkannt, allerdings auch nicht unbedingt alle. Das kenne ich (leider) auch von meinen Reolink-Kameras Wenn in kurzen Abstnden diverse Pop-Ups auflaufen, ist zu handeln. Hier sollte man somit ein wenig tfteln, um etwaige Fehlalarme zu minimieren. berwachungsbereiche, die z. B. Bume mit sich bewegenden Zweigen einschlieen, knnen hier nicht nur bei Sturm problematisch sein. Das gilt speziell fr den Fall, dass man sich eine Arlo Ultra 2 Spotlight als anspruchsvolle Wildkamera im Gartenbereich gnnt. Apropos: die Kamera sollte natrlich mglichst auerhalb der unmittelbaren Reichweite von neugierigen Tieren und Langfingern angebracht werden.

Sinnvolle Ausstattung: die eingebauten Mikrofone (ohne Geruschunterdrckung!) tragen zum ausreichen verstndlichen Aufzeichnen von Geruschen (z. B. Sprache, Tierlaute, Schritte) und auch ggf. zur guten Verstndigung bei. So kann man beim Livebild mit seinem Gegenber sprechen, oder sogar Tiere und Langfinger” verscheuchen, falls diese einen Alarm ausgelst haben und noch vor Ort sind berwacht man eigene Tiere, lassen sich diese u. U. durch die Stimme beruhigen.

Folgekosten: Arlo hat krzlich die Arlo Smart Abonnementplne gendert, Altkunden knnen wohl alte Tarife behalten. Somit sollten sich Interessenten die Abonnement-Optionen genau anschauen; diese Kosten sind aber kalkulierbar. So fallen z. B. im Arlo Secure Plan 9,99 mtl. an, wobei auch hier die Anzahl der Kameras unbegrenzt ist. Weitere Details sollte man sich genau durchlesen

Akkus: Je nach Hufigkeit und Umfang der Verwendung und Aufzeichnungen kann man zwar theoretisch zwar wochenlang mit den mitgelieferten, aufladbaren Akkus arbeiten. Abhngig insbesondere von der Hufigkeit der Aufzeichnungen und der Anzahl der Live-Stream-Aufrufe kann sich der Akkuverbrauch natrlich auch schnell sprbar erhhen Wie schnell den Akkus durchschnittlich die Puste ausgeht, bleibt somit abzuwarten, zumal auch noch kein Langzeittest (speziell im Winter) vorliegt. Ersatzakkus sind ansonsten eine sinnvolle Option.

Zubehr: Auer dem Set, bestehend aus drei schwarzen Arlo Pro4 Kameras, ist folgendes Zubehr im Lieferumfang enthalten:

– drei wiederaufladbare Akkus
– ein (!) magnetisches Ladekabel
– Wandhalterungen und Schraubensets,
– Kurzanleitung,
– ein Videoberwachungs-Aufkleber
– Downloads (auf der Produktseite) Produktunterlagen

Der Videoberwachungs-Aufkleber weist hierbei auf das Vorhandensein von -Kamera hin. Weiteres sinnvolles Zubehr (z. B. Akkus) kostet dann natrlich extra

Fazit: Mir gefallen die ArloPro 4 Sicherheitskamera im Wesentlichen. Massive Probleme hatte ich erfreulicherweise bislang nicht. Mgliche Ursachen fr Probleme knnen vielfltig sein (Streinflsse anderer Gerte etc.). Letztlich kann man nur bei sich zuhause feststellen, ob es irgendwo hakt.
berwachungskameras sorgen fr ein deutliches Plus an Sicherheit und sind eine sehr gute Idee, zumal die Arlo Pro4 Kameras auch gute bis sehr Ergebnisse liefern. Man sieht bei Bedarf schnell, was los ist, sofern die App ein Bild liefert(klappt nicht immer sofort, durchaus auch verzgert). Wer z. B. schon immer wissen wollte, welche Wildtiere den Garten besuchen” kommen, wei den Komfort zu schtzen, zumal im Gegensatz zu typischen Wildtierkameras” nicht erst eine SD-Karte entnommen und ausgelesen werden muss.
Kalkulierbare Folgekosten sind vorhanden, aber nicht zwingend. Dennoch wird man wohl daran kaum vorbeikommen, will man die Kameras sinnvoll nutzen. Auch an einen mglichst einfachen, schnellen Zugang zur Kamera ist zu denken. Perfekt ist die Steuerung mittels App zwar (noch) nicht, erfahrungsgem knnen Hersteller ber Updates aber noch einiges optimieren. Ein Langzeittest liegt allerdings nicht vor, somit gibt es aktuell 4 Punkte.

Excellent design and image quality. But, I did not realise on ordering that I needed a subscription to unlock all the features – not necessary on my previous (earlier version) Arlo cameras.

Super camra de surveillance.
Pourtant j’aurai pu enlever une toile, car aprs le bip sonore quand la camra reconnait le QR Code, impossible que l’application reconnaisse la camra, aprs plusieurs tentatives et rinitialisations.
Donc j’ai appel la hotline, qui est rapide pour obtenir une personne.
Il fallait que je dsactive le wifi en 5Ghz, car sur ma box on peut coupler le 2,4Ghz et le 5Ghz.
Pour repartir sur de bonnes bases, j’ai dsinstall l’application, puis rinstall, ensuite avec le 2,4Ghz la connexion de la camra t reconnue.
Aprs ces pripties, j’ai mis en place la camra, l’installation est trs simple, l’aimant s’installe facilement et la camra vient s’aimanter dessus, ce qui permet de corriger l’angle de vision facilement.
La qualit de l’image est au rendez-vous.
Elle est quipe d’un petit projecteur assez puissant, et on activer la sirne si on le dsire.
Elle est assez discrte, l’avantage qu’elle fonctionne sans fil en wifi.
Au bout de 3 mois d’essais, il y a un abonnement de 2,99/mois pour avoir toutes les fonctionnalits, je verrai au bout de l’essai si a vaut le coup.
Le prix est justifi par la qualit de l’image.

I absolutely love this security camera. It was easy to connect to my 2.4ghtz WiFi once I’d switched from 5ghtz. Setting up was actually very easy and I’m not very competent at setting up stuff like this (although I’ve improved considerably). I did struggle at first finding where the battery goes but I watched a video online and realised I needed to pull apart the black part from the white camera casing. My video shows how it’s done.

Once you’ve got the battery in everything is straightforward in the set up and fairly quick too. The app is excellent, I learned new things that I coukd do over a period of a few days before deciding where to set it up. I needed easy access for when I wish to recharge the battery so didn’t want it mounted too high. I decided upon my shed being the best place so any one accessing my garden via my gates would be seen. Plus my car is in my garden so that too was visible on the camera.

I wasn’t keen on the magnetic base even though it is super strong so I bought a bracket specifically for the camera and screwed it into my shed and then screwed the camera in place. It did take some time deciding on the best angle, it’s a sensitive camera so even picked up vehicles driving passed outside my gates so I lowered the view area and it’s now perfect.

You can set up what triggers you wish to be alerted for… Animal, person, vehicle and motion. I have all set up to trigger an alert. Via the, app you can arm and disarm easily plus turn off trigger alerts from a couple of hours to 24 hours, this is ideal for me as I’ve been in my garden a lot during the heatwave so didn’t want alerts every time my dog or myself walked by the camera.

You can also view live, example you’re at someone else’s house and want to view what’s going on just tune in and you can see a live feed. If you notice someone loitering you can trigger an alarm to sound (it’s not very loud) or you can press to speak. If it’s a parcel delivery you coukd tell them to leave it in a certain place.

The camera can also be set to zoom on to the person or animal and follow, it can only follow a small amount because its the camera eye that moves not the whole camera itself. I love this feature because you’re able to get a better facial vision of a person.

All alerts are saved via the cloud with the option should you need to, to download certain files. You can delete as and when you wish too.

The app also displays how much battery is left so when the time comes you can remove the camera recharge whilst at home and then pop back in place. The battery lasts up to 6 months which is pretty incredible in my opinion. I wanted this camera because of the battery life and that there’s no need to have it wired to the electrics, it made it easy for me to install by myself and I have physical disabilities which can hinder me but I managed this alone.

I’ve never thought about buying home security because I’m almost always home and when not home I’m usually only a 15 minute drive away at the most but now I have this I feel so much better that my dog and I are safe.

The Arlo app is extremely user friendly, simple to navigate and learn about different features as you go along. Whilst my camera has been up we’ve had two weeks of a heatwave then crazy thunderstorms with heavy rain. There’s only been one time throughout when the camera had a misty video and that was an early morning trigger by my neighbours cat. I think mist must have covered the lens a little but ut soon dispersed.. The night vision is great too, its in black and white and when motion is detected a light comes on the camera for a clearer recording. You can opt not to have the light on though. I think its best having it as it will warn off an intruder especially if you have other motion detection lights.

It’s worth every penny for piece of mind.

Aprs, j’ai eu un petit doute quand mme car j’aime bien avoir un minimum d’explications papier. Une sorte de notice. Et la, force est de constater que c’est trs trs sommaire. Une simple feuille format timbre poste qui vous dit de vous contacter l’application. Bref, pas terrible.
Et pourtant, la mise en place de cette camra est on ne peut plus simple et c’est trs apprciable ! En gros le plus long c’est le tlchargement de l’application et ensuite la mise jour qui prend 5 minutes. Sinon perso en 1 mn au lancement de l’application tout s’est fait de manire fluide et sans bug !
Le grand plus de cette camra c’est sa batterie qui permet une installation sans aucun fil avec une autonomie (donnes constructeur) de 6 mois !!
L’application est bien faite et m’a l’air trs bien conu. Des tonnes de fonctionnalits, comme la vision jour/nuit (normal), la fonction micro (pour entendre tout ce qui ce passe) et la fonction haut parleur (pour diffuser en live son propre message), un puissant clairage, la possibilit de dclencher une sirne (pas test car j’ai des voisins !), de dtecter l’arrive de colis (oui oui. Si utilisation en extrieur bien sr !) et de pouvoir appeler une personne en cas de problme (pas test non plus, voir si cette fonctionnalit n’est pas lie un abonnement facultatif, j’ai vu qu’il y avait des formules sans trop m’y pencher car je n’ai pas l’intention de m’y abonner).
Bref, cette camra est tout fait complte et d’une facilit d’utilisation non ngligeable !

I’m really impressed with this cctv system. I was expecting one camera so I was seriously delighted to find three in my pack. My neighbours van has just been broken into so this is very welcome to protect my van or at least get potential culprits identified. I believe this is the newest model.

The packaging is high end and inside is the 3 cameras, 3 mounts with fixings and charging lead with 3 pin mains and 2 pin euro plugs. There aren’t really any instructions as it’s all set up using the app. I was a bit concerned about this but I didn’t need to be as it was super simple to get set up.

The cameras arrive 50% charged so you need to use the USB C with 3 pin plug quick charge supplied. Three mounts are supplied, two magnetic and a movable arm one. The magnetic ones mean you can move them to loads of different angles but not sideways. So you can’t have the camera at right angles on the magnetic but you can on the arm one. We had most trouble mounting the magnetic mounts. You put the screw through a tiny plastic piece that the mount slides over. We used the screw without the plastic piece and it was much more secure. You only need to drill 5 holes in total for all 3 mounts.

You use the app to set up and connect to WiFi and it was amazingly easy. I had all 3 cameras set up in a flash. You can name each camera and have features set up individually. The array of features is huge….

You can set up the areas that you want to be notified for.
The recording quality is superb.
It’s totally wireless. The battery lasts up to 6 months and the app tells you how much charge is left. Then you need to take it down to quick charge.
Get a spotlight activated at night.
Record in colour at night when activated.
Auto zoom in on moving objects and on parcels on the doorstep.
Record people, vehicles or animals or only record say just people.
Add more items to the system.
Speak and listen to people at the door.
View live video.

I can’t list every feature as there’s too many but suffice to say that you can change lots of settings using the app.

You also get 3 months free subscription to record to cloud. At first I thought no way am I paying a subscription but now I’ve seen the system set up I’d happily pay the 7.99 to continue and then you get 4k recordings too. Single camera packages are 2.49.

The quality of this kit is outstanding. It’s a higher end price cctv but I think its worth every penny. I did find a few flaws though.

The fixing system for the magnetic mounts aren’t very good. They leave the mounts a bit wobbly but we adjusted the fixing and it’s now more stable.
There’s no option to add an SD card so if the WiFi is down nothing gets recorded. Our WiFi is frequently down so that may become an issue.
If there’s no power that means no WiFi and no recording. If an intruder cut the power that’s the CCTV down too.
It only records when movement is detected. If you want 24 hour recording you need to pay 9.99 a month per camera which I think is excessive.

I’d say if it’s essential that you record 24 hours then another system might be better. If you just want it for home where you just want movement detection this would be excellent. The quality is so good it would be easy to identify people.
I’m really pleased to have been able to try the Arlo Pro 4 set out and I feel so much more secure knowing its there. I can’t praise this enough and I’d recommend it to anyone considering purchasing it. It’s also well worthy of five stars.

Die Kamera kommt wie erwartet sehr gut verpackt an (fast alles mit Pappe realisiert 🙂 ). Arlo hat die Sache mit der gedruckten Inbetriebnahmebeschreibung auf ein echtes Minimum heruntergebrochen… auf der Verpackung steht mehr… Alles luft ausschlielich ber die Arlo-App. Darber sollt man sich im Klaren sein. Der Vorgang ist wie bei den meisten WLAN Kameras dieser Art. Zunchst App installieren (~80MB), Konto einrichten, WLAN (muss 2,4GHz untersttzen!) inkl. Passwort angeben, um einen QR-Code fr die Kamera zu erzeugen.
Die App macht auf mich einen recht aufgerumten Eindruck, die Optionen sind sehr vielfltig. Mit der Anmeldung beginnt automatisch der 3-monatige Testzeitraum des Arlo-Service, der viele der Features des Produktes ausmachen. Wenn das Abo (ab 2,8 pro Monat) nicht verlngert wird, bleibt erstmal nur die Live-Option und die Benachrichtigung. In der Preisklasse wre ein klein wenig mehr Dienstleistung wnschenswert.
Die Montage der Kamera mit dem Magnetfchen finde ich extrem praktisch wenn auch der Diebstahlschutz quasi komplett wegfllt. Der Magnetfu ist leider nur als Schraub-Klick-Lsung konzipiert. Ich habe den Fu mit einem Kabelbinder an einer Stange befestigt, was aber extrem schwierig was. Da wre eine flexiblere Montagemglichkeit wnschenswert.
Die Auflsung und der Winkel sind definitiv ausreichend. Die Farbnachtsicht kann ich nur sehr eingeschrnkt besttigen. Bei Dunkelheit kann eingestellt werden, ob bei Bewegung die “Flutlicht”-LED, die erstaunlich hell ist, zugeschaltet wird oder oder nur die zwei Infrarot-LEDs… Ein Farbbild ist nur bei eingeschalteter “Flutlicht”-LED zu erkennen ansonsten ein gutes Schwarz-Wei-Bild.
Beeindruckend ist wiederum das Gesamtportfolio von Arlo wie z.B. Solarpanels.
Insgesamt finde ich den Preis fr das gebotene recht hoch. Die stressfreie Einrichtung und Montage sind schon ein echter Pluspunkt. Bezglich der Abo-Modelle sollte man sich aber vor dem Kauf auseinandersetzen.

Extremely easy to install and very useful to have on my phone, the picture quality is excellent. I have one positioned on the kennels and the dogs move around frequently so have loads of notifications and so the battery usage is more but overall very, very pleased.

Having upgraded from the Arlo Pro 2 system, this is a big improvement. Fantastic video quality with a much wider viewing angle compared to the Pro 2 cameras.

Hopefully the re-designed unibody case and magnetic charging port should prevent water ingress which plagued the Pro 2 cameras (one of my Pro 2 cameras got wet via the USB charging port).

All in all a great product and well worth the money.

These cameras are perfect for keeping our house secure. They were really easy to set up and the zones mean that we don’t recieve any unwanted notifications, it was really easy to personalise to our needs. They have a great field of view and excellent video quality even at night time.

No wires, which is excellent and easy to install. Good video quality. Only problem is that sometimes the camera recognises steam from my boiler as an animal.

Great camera system. This is my second Arlo system and the Pro version is definitely a great improvement if you are after more enhanced features. The picture quality is very good especially when you start zooming into the objects. Wide angle is very handy, as well as having everything in colour. The audio channel both ways is also new from my previous version, which has come in very handy. Finally the system is easy to install and comes with all the mounting brackets you will need. I will definitely recommend this Arlo system.

This set consists of two cameras and a ‘hub’. Setting them up involves connecting the hub to your network (By a cable, it’s not wireless) and the pairing the cameras with the hub. This is easy to do. The Arlo application for iOS connects to cameras and hubs and lets you control them and also view the images remotely. The kit comes with a charger dock for the cameras, and fittings to allow you to hang the cameras on walls or ceilings.

Picture quality is excellent and wide. A single camera covers pretty much all our living room and the whole of our hallway. At night the image is good. The cameras also have speakers which has proven to be handy as we use it to talk to the kids when we go out (Usually to ask them to do something for us!). The application on your phone can be used to view the images live and it will also notify you if movement is detected by the camera. The application will record the image when it detects movement and store it in a cloud account, but you need to pay for this feature once the trial period has ended.

This is an extremely high quality product that worked flawlessly for me, and has high quality image quality both in day and night and comes with a well integrated application.

Great cameras, use them for my storage site as back up “hidden” cams to go with the overhead CCTV. Only issue is range, so watch out for that. Think I’ll need to get and Alro Go for the longer range position, but am so happy with the cameras that I don’t mind buying another of Alro’s products!

I’ve had several wireless cameras around the outside of the house for some years and as technology has evolved these cameras have been updated.

This kit from Arlo consists of a base station that plugs into your modem/router via LAN Ethernet connection and the cameras connect to the base via a secure wireless connection. I had a slight problem with one camera that had problems connection to the base, it’s a good distance from the base with it being fixed on our shed down the garden. This was sorted out by using a mains ethernet sockets that allowed me to locate the base station in the kitchen, the camera then worked fine.

Setting up the cameras was a breeze compared to other cameras I have used in the past, there are two mounts provided in the kit, one is the standard screw mounting and the other is a magnetic mount, both are good quality and look upto the weather outside.

The picture from these cameras is excellent, good clear pictures of any movement within the cameras field of view are then store on the cloud or memory stick/HDD plugged into the usb port on the base station, the cloud based storage is free for 3 months after that period you have to pay a subscription fee, I’ve opted for a 1gb SSD storage drive, OK you do lose a few features but the cameras still record images to the SSD.

The other great feature of these cameras is they have a built in LED flood light, with this function switched on the cameras can record in low light and in colour, this light comes on when someone approaches the camera. There is also an alarm function on these cameras, this is activated via the ARLO app, the siren is fairly loud but I feel it could be louder. Two way audio is another useful function, this is particularly useful as an intercom for delivery drivers, especially in these times.

Battery life on the cameras is around 3 weeks between charges, this is OK for me but can be improved by altering setting in the app, the other little bugbear is ARLO have supplied a special charging lead with these cameras, it is a USB lead with a special magnetic base that attaches to the camera, I would have preferred a standard USB connection to the camera so I;m not tied to ARLO accessories

The ARLO phone app is good and simple to use, you can change setting within the cameras through the app, all important firmware to the cameras and base are update via the app too.

I like this kit and quality looks good, one or two little snags along the way but they have been fixed without any real issues.

Versatile, responsive and dependable cameras with a feature set not readily found on other cameras.

The Arlo 3 has a litany of features, most of which you can read about in the listing, so I will instead focus on how well it performs in real life.

In short, very well. I have a set of Reolink cameras which I’ll compare it to, and although they are in a totally different price bracket, they do provide a baseline performance over which the Arlo cameras ought to justify their additional price.

First of all, image quality. Even at night with street lights through my window, images are surprisingly descent. Even better is that there is such a wide angle of view and enough pixels on offer that it will detect, zoom and track a target across it’s field of view – it really is remarkably good at this, and even zoomed in the image is clear. Low light settings include using a spotlight, IR camera or neither.

It is possible to set up to 3 zones to monitor on each camera, useful if your FoV covers a path or a road you want to ignore. It is also possible to customise alerts to filter for People, Vehicles, Animals or All motion,

Battery life seems good – roughly 30% in the last month with plenty of alerts and so on – though I have turned off the IR illumination. This is on par with the Reolinks.

Responsiveness & alerts are almost instantaneous – unlike the Reolink which often has a lag, occasionally of several minutes. The app occasionally takes a few moments to start the live stream, but never hangs. There is a second or so of lag in the live stream.

You are enrolled in a 3 month free trial of the Arlo cloud, after which you must pay. However it is possible to get the same functionality by simply plugging a USB drive into the base station. The only caveat with this is that you won’t be able to access your recordings remotely, unless you have set up a VPN to your home network. You’ll still get notifications though. You can also pay for 24/7 recording, if that’s what you need – I haven’t tested this so I have no idea what sort of battery life is possible.

Compared to the Reolink – and many other cheaper camera options – having the local storage on a basestation, rather than a microSD card in the camera itself makes so much sense – if the camera is removed then at least the images are still available.

In terms of reception, the Arlo uses it’s own wifi network which patches into the router via LAN cable (so you’ll need a spare socket). Reception is as you’d expect – fine, however each camera is self contained with only a mounting screw hole at the back – the antennae is built in. Unlike the Reolink, this configuration does not allow you to use a high gain antenna, which prevents me from being able to use the Arlo at the far end of my garden, where I have a solar powered Reolink.

In terms of set up and mounting; set up is a doddle and took minutes. Mounting can be either by the mounting screw at the back, or magnetically, and again is straightforward.

The app, at least on Android is good, but let down by having several different sets of menus, so it can be hard to find the setting you want – I’ve had to hunt around for extended periods trying to find a setting I saw once in the past but can’t quite remember where I saw it….

Finally, scheduling is great; it has the option of Armed (will issue alerts), Disarmed (won’t issue alerts) , Schedule (alerts on a schedule), or my favourite, Geofencing (will issue alerts when you’re not in). You can also give access to others, and add them to the geofencing.

This is extremely well made, well designer, bags and bags of features and very stunning performance of the cameras. I initially thought this was seriously over-priced, i don’t now. The cameras are worth the 150 to 200 price tag. The extremely low light colour HD performance is stunning. Hence the hub as a CVR with features and local recording ability might be a little overpriced but the cloud and local recording is giving you high degree of protection. Security is inbuilt but sensibly done to protect your data. The app is nice and intuitive and allows you access to your cameras from anywhere in the world safely and securely. I must say i had a few issues getting the smart hub setup and discovered. A typical technical chap i should have read the instructions, but the simple leaflet should perhaps be expanded wity a little more ‘getting started’. I strongly recommend you go to the support website first. You then need to ready your firewall to allow the hubs mac address to have an IP address assigned and that have outgoing internet WAN access and also all other LAN /WiFi access. The LAN /WiFi is where the cameras and any other accessories connect. The LAN is the hub (yes it must connect via a wired ethernet cable (only). The hub can have a USB drive which must be FAT32 (only) formatted or be able to format in that standard. You need to set the hub up after you download the app and install it. Then the hub. Then the cameras are best discovered one at a time using the app then pressing inside the synch button on the bottom of the camera near the front with camera slide out of case. Press white button next to power feed on bottom of each camera, they will pop open and gently pull them open taking out the camera, add the battery add a device on app, press synch button on camera… then do next. Dont be impatient and try doing them all at once, it wont! The configuration thereafter is easy. Rich full of nice things like 2 way Audio, A spot light a siren, 2K HD low lux colour camera that is stunning. They are weather sealed and the camera module has a weather seal o-ring to seal the camera to case. The charging cable is included which is not that long but easy to extend and it has a neate magnetic coupling to the base. Each camera can have a strong magnetic mounting or you can use a threaded mounting (it comes with 2 magnetic and one threaded). I really like this and will add permanent charge leads and more cameras. The only thing that is a little bit disappointing is you get all of the above forever. But you have to subscribe after 30 days for the cloud storage and the various advanced recognition and alert features which will cost you each year the price again of a camera to several cameras!!!! For the price of this system that hopefully in time will come down in price, but be assured GDPR and your privacy has been well thought through. This is an awesome kit. Highly recommended, Andrew

FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
After 3 weeks of use I like this system a lot and love the potential of what it is capable of, once I master all the customising options.
It has a couple off irritating quirks like the 5 second delay between live footage and displayed footage and I dislike the sensitivity to animals outside resulting in unnecessary alerts. However, I am sure I these will be remedied soon once I am more familiar with the features.

USER MANUAL. –
There was no obvious link or mention of a user manual or guide but google search for “ARLO PRO 3 user manual”. Produced an comprehensive 78 pages online one from the ARLO website, that can be downloaded for offline reference. Note. I cannot include a link here but I have included screen grabs of the table of contents pages.
ONLINE TUTORIAL & REVIEW.
Even though the initial setup is easy it is worth checking out YOUTUBE as a guide to see what options are available. There are several excellent reviews and tutorials including a couple of short ones from the ARLO brand and other much longer and in depth reviews and tutorials detailing the many options.
WITH & WITHOUT MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION
Straight out of the box to a simple setup was less than half an hour,
with very little technical knowledge and just a screwdriver and a smartphone app.
There is no need to buy the extra monthly subscription as there are are lots of customisable options included. The online user manual and online tutorials are worth referring to .
However, for those who want even more customisable security features and icloud storage you need to consider one of the monthly subscription offers, ranging from 2.49 for a single camera to 12.99 for up to 5 cameras.
CAMERA LOCATIONS & MY REQUIREMENTS
I installed one wall mounted camera above my front door and the magnetic clip camera inside my living room looking out of a large window. .
I did not need any monthly subscription as the included system, once customised, met all of my particular needs, including saving data to either my iphone, my pc or an external drive. I can view my cameras from anywhere in the world via my apple devices, or at home, from the permanent camera display on 2 android screens. I also have a PC setup that enables me to record or zoom in at high resolution on a big screen.

Each day I learn new features that are better than I expected and as my knowledge and expertise grow – so does my overall satisfaction.

Pros: the two cameras are very easy to install with a totally wireless set up. They need occasional recharging, but this is not a problem. The picture quality is amazing. Even at night. You can interactively turn on the integrated spot light from your phone, and you can use the phone as an intercom to talk to visitors. The motion sensor is sensitive, but not so bad. On first impressions I am very pleased with the versatility, quality and ease of use of these cameras.

Cons: the camera records via the Arlo smart plan thingy, a three month free trial is included. If you wish to record after this then you need to subscribe. Given the already seemingly high cost of the cameras this further outlay seems a bit of a kicker. The cameras are expensive for what they are.

All in all very good, but knocking a star off for the requirement for a subscription. 4 stars.

Solid system if somewhat overpriced. Motion detection could be further and activates best when the movement is across the camera, so not ideal when looking straight down a driveway. WiFi range is good even when 20m from base station. Charging the batteries is annoying without a charge station as you have to remove the camera which can mess up the activity zones. Camera playback is good when full screen on a PC, but would be nice to have the cameras display in 4 real quadrants.
