Great Product; as is the shorter table top/bedside lamp version of this lamp. We’ve used these daylight lamps for years, and they really are so good for evening use, or for gloomy days, great for sewing, reading and writing. We would recommend them to anyone thinking of buying a new floor or desktop lamp, they are so bright; you can almost get a tan from them!, or at the very least wear your sunglasses! Great buy.

What a great find and not as expensive as I would have expected. It does exactly what it says. So on dull days or evening working this is great for cross stitching, sewing etc if you need a bright light to work under. I don’t know how long the bulb will last but as I’ve only just bought it I will have to think about getting replacement bulbs soon, just incase. It’s quite heavy and sturdy and easy instructions to put together. Good buy.

Nicely weighted for stability. The lamp was easy to assemble and is really bright (it does indeed provide a daylight level of illumination). The lead length is sufficient but could be a little more generous for flexibility. I fully recommend this lamp (we now have two of them).

This lamp is very robust with a decent heavy base, so very stable. The height is just right for an armchair and a bed. I bought it for my 88 year old father-in-law and he loves it: good strength, robust and easy turn on and off.
Delighted with my lamp. My son put it together because I have arthritis; it seemed quite straightforward! It’s the perfect height and the adjustable angles are great. Perfect for crafting, reading and for sitting under when the grey days are upon us! Love it!

Very happy with this, now that it’s up and running. It was a bit tricky to put together – I had to get my husband to come and help me. Otherwise it’s 5 star. Very stable because of heavy base, good illumination, easy to adjust.

I bought 1 lamp and liked it so much I’ve bought 2 more, 1 for my husband over his chair so he can read without glasses, one over the computer and one for my daughter in her room so she can see well to do homework. Bought for reading in a chair in a darkish place – works very well, good light. Was not easy to assemble, though (two person job because of the length).

Not the prettiest lamp but it does the job very well
I bought two of these lights and had a bit of difficulty putting them together. The manufacturer seems to have added a black rubber plug which I presume is to give the metal upright some extra strength. Unfortunately the black rubber plug simply does not fit into the metal upright and I had to discard it on both lamps.
This means the metal upright is not rigid and can move in a circular fashion within the base.
This does not concern me and the lamp gives a good light beam and as the base is heavy all seems ok.
Bright light definately helps my mum to see things more clearly with having poor eyesight. A bit difficult to assemble as the rubber part would not fit. Managed to put it togethrt without it but its not as stable as it should be but its not really a problem for her. For this reason I gave 4 stars not 5

The product does exactly what it says on the label and provides daylight brightness where you need it most. It spreads the light over a good working area without comprimising other peoples enjoyment of TV or other activities in the same room. I found it perfect for reading books and my Kindle without straining my eyes, especially in the winter afternoons where the sunlight rapidly falls after 3pm or so. My wife and I have found it perfect for crafts such as crochet, knitting, embroidery etc. which need good light to see clearly and colour matching. It was easy to fit together too, but needs a little care fitting the support pole together. Installing the lamp flourecent tube was not necessary as it is already done for you even though the instructions assume you will need to do it. In fact the instructions were the only down side of the product supplied, the pictures need a detail to explain how the lamp fits into the base. The instructions show a thin rubber seal between the base and the fitting at the bottom of the support pole, however no such thin rubber seal was provided and the design does not seam to need one so fitting it was omitted and has worked perfectly ever since.
The lamp was easy to erect and is bright enough for the elderly, poorly sighted lady for whom it was bought to be able to read her paper with ease. An excellent item and well priced.
Brilliant piece of kit. Great daylight bulb which helps with SAD. Easy to put together. Good height just right for my armchair seat where I handsew, crosstitch, embroider and knit.
This a bargain, I use as a reading light, being disabled I can now use this light any where. My wife assembled it so any one could do the same/

Even with reading glasses, I’ve recently started struggling to read in dull light and have been looking at the options. This certainly does the job and is great value for money. It’s bright and throws light a reasonable distance. I’ve positioned it behind our settee so that the light shines over my shoulder. Works great and enables reading/crosswords, etc. Only concern is that it looks a little ‘clinical’ and doesn’t exactly fit asthetically into our otherwise modern/contemporary living room. I guess I’ll learn to live with it though.
arrived yesterday, easy to put together, seems good and solid stands firmly, good light ideal for my sewing
good value for money. Did not have any problems with assembly except for the rubber grommet which, if meant to fit in bottom section, proved too difficult for my old hands to install. Fitting was extremely tight. Any tips from fellow customers ? Instruction for this particular part of assembly is lacking.

Good ‘daylight’ from this lamp. Ideal for reading and close work. A little tricky to assemble, but even though I’m not technically minded I managed it with a little patience and careful reading of the instructions.

Excellent product, easy to assemble and a great improvement on any of our other lamps for reading small print , a newspaper for example. I may purchase another one for another location in the sitting room. The position of the switch is very helpful when the lamp is positioned behind a settee for example and for older people.
I was concerned that the there might be too much glare, but by positioning the light to one side and slightly behind, this is no problem. The light quality is excellent and a good match for the low-energy daylight bulbs through the rest of the house.
The base is quite heavy, so feels stable enough and the overall lamp seems to be good quality, with a thicker-than-average vertical post and a moulded swan-neck. There is approx. 2 meters of cable and an on/off switch on the lamp head just below the light, so easy to access. Would definitely recommend.

Very pleased with this natural daylight lamp. Makes such a difference to work under during these dull days. I do a lot of embroidery and can work much easier with natural light – no eye strain!

Excellent, jigsaws now done in a fraction of the time. Putting together did need a little patience but no dramas.
Gives wonderful light. I was concerned it would be difficult to put togerther, after reading other reviews, but not at all. I am a 65+ lady so anyone can do it reading the instructions. Moveable head so can position it just right.

Arrived well before the due date and very well packaged. Fairly easy to assemble – once you get the screw threads properly aligned. Gives wonderful light to work by.
Nice and bright but not harsh on the eyes. Although the stand is a bit cumbersome to move, once in situ the light part is easily adjustable to whatever position you are working/reading in.
We needed a lamp with good light for model building that involves some very intricate work. This lamp has a wonderful ‘daylight’ quality and fits over the table that we use. We are considering getting a second one to use for reading in bed!

I used the lamp last night for the first time.
It seemed a bit fiddly to put together but my husband said it was easy enough to do.
The light is fantastic. It completely solved the problem of not being able to knit in the evening.
If I were going to improve it I would make the gooseneck even more adjustable and make it height adjustable as well so it could be lowered to just above sitting height so as to avoid any glare from above.
It was delivered in 24 hours at half the price of many of the lights I was considering and appears to be well made. All in all so far so good.
My grumble is that the spare bulbs are not on the website linked with the light. It is a nightmare to find the right bulb among the thousands – I was defeated – I have no spare bulb.
But I bought her this for her birthday and she is delighted with it
It is the right size with the lighting level she requires
If she is happy then so am I!
