Amazing xbox series x headset and set up
super quality, i play pubg on series x and i just use dolby atmos, works fine adapter not needed for optical, just change the settings in atmos, but i get the best of the mixamp while on PC, reason been for xbox is i have a 2k monitor and i dont know what the right adapter is for getting optical

Only tricky part is the firmware update due to only having a console but once that’s done can’t fault a single thing

Good headset, sounds great although even with the correct pass through config, and Atmos software enabled on my Xbox I struggle to hear the height effects. It’s a very good surround sound headset and great tweaking software but yeh, just not much Atmos effect when playing MW2.

I searched for a nice comfy and decent set for gaming and to sit back and listen to tunes my turtles elite weren’t just cutting it anymore, so when I saw these in a amazon warehouse deal for less than a 100 I had to take a punt. Plugged in my pc using usb very straight forward into the amp and from there the headphone cable to the set themselves I thought I had a dodgy pair to start as the mic wasn’t working properly and the sound was iffy but the cable to the headset needed that extra push to safely click into place and wow. When you first out them on they fit very nicely around the ears and the sounds and bass you get will deffo bring a smile to your face, your ears will get warm over time but I’ve found this in all headsets I’ve owned (the Razer krakens being the worst for it) but I found this set I could just keep on wearing the amp is such a handy tool with eq presets and game to chat balance you think you would never need it but once it’s there you wonder how you lived without it . Round up brilliant headset if you can get at a bargain price only bummer for me was the in line mute toggle should be on the amp would of been a lot simpler.

I own many head sets and this is one of the best I have owned. Both mix amp and headphones work well. I am using these on series x with no problems. The only downside there is not a on and off switch on the mix amp. I bought a USB adapter with a on off switch to fix the problem

Came from SteelSeries 3 to Astro A40 TR. A step up in budget obviously but worth every penny. Mix amp is a lovely bit of kit and the sound from the headphones is really good. Also very good for music and moves, where most gaming headsets are lacking in that regard.
I’d have to give a slight nod to the SteelSeries for comfort, the A40 is very comfortable no complaints at all. The ski band on SteelSeries is just very clever and works better than any other headphones I’ve used, comfort wise. But the A40s blow the SteelSeries 3 out of the water for sound quality. At 100 quid the refurbed set is terrific value, it was in mint condition. It did come without ear pads so I bought the faux leather mod kit which is also excellent, maybe a tad pricy but great quality.
For music you’ll never compete with proper audiophile headphones, but the A40s are a genuine step up and other than real enthusiasts, most people will really appreciate the sound for music and moves. And of course gaming performance is top notch.

I'll give these headset 4/5 because with these pricerange there should at least come with leather Cushions and 50mm driver for bigger sound and base. I've have tried allot of headset and the astro a40 is not my best tested headset. My creative sxfi gamer have a more bigger sound stage in all fronts and it is much cheaper then Astro A40. But overall I wanted a lightweight and comfortable headset and the Astro A40 doesn't let me down.

Always stick with astros
The only dislike i have is the mic audio is a bit bad but other then that the headset audio and how comfortable it is, Is amazing

Sono bellissime e di qualit..ma ancora oggi non capisco bene perch il mixamp che dovrebbe abbassare il volume gioco e chat mi si abbassa solo quello del gioco ..e non c’ niente che ti spieghi come usarlo per bene..delle istruzioni sarebbero state utili e gradite…

I plummed for these really for the MixAmp. Had Astro in the past and they’re great lightweight headset (lighter than my wireless headset). It has been a good choice all round. I can wear these all day without getting sore ears and the sound quality is great.
Having the large mechanical mixamp is also a lovely bonus.

Comprate per usarle con Xbox Series X, mi ritengo soddisfatto. L’installazione molto rapida e se si dispone di un pc si possono modificare i 4 profili standard di equalizzazione a piacimento con il software dedicato. Premettendo che non sono affatto un sommelier del suono, lo trovo accettabile, spingono molto sui bassi come noto. Il fatto di avere la certificazione dolby atmos non guasta ma con dolby access ormai non pi una feature rilevante. Con il mod kit da semiaperte possono diventare chiuse. Il microfono invece una nota davvero dolente, probabilmente non classificabile visto quando costa questo kit di listino.
In conclusione le consiglio? Si se non le pagate 280, ultimamente nuove sono state spesso a 180 (comunque troppo), io invece le ho prese con whd pagandole 112, sono arrivate praticamente perfette con il neo di non avere le spugne (risolvibile con 19,90 sul Astro).

Bought Used - Acceptable
Came basically brand new just an open box and a missing manual very happy with the result of my first Used buy from amazon warehouse.
Qualità elevatissima se si utilizza l'uscita audio ottica. Qualità audio ridimensionata via USB.
Vengo dalla coppia Mixamp pro di 2 generazione (quella della xbox 360) e cuffie Sennheiser game one. Sulla xbox one queste non permettevano la chat di gioco, che funzionava solo sulla vecchia xbox 360. Giocando molto in compagnia ho deciso di fare l’upgrade con la nuova generazione per poter usare anche il mixamp quando gioco in compagnia e non solo durante il single player.
Ebbene, preciso che le a40 rispetto alle Sennheiser game one si collocano sulla stessa fascia di qualit audio. L’unica differenza che le a40 hanno i bassi pi evidenziati mentre le altre hanno un profilo audio pi flat. Questione di gusti. la qualit comunque molto elevata.
Non ci sono sostanzialmente grandi migliorie audio con i mixamp di vecchia generazione, forse ascoltando molto ma molto attentamente si riesce a percepire un suono leggermente pi dettagliato, ma nulla che valga la spesa del passaggio (seppure comprate con un forte sconto al prime day).
Il valore aggiunto era poter usare la chat di gioco e gli effetti del mixamp allo stesso tempo.
Il problema si presenta con le console di nuova generazione: le nuove xbox serie s/x non hanno l’uscita audio ottica. Astro ha reso disponibile un nuovo firmware che consente il passaggio del segnale audio tramite presa USB. Purtroppo per, almeno su xobx one la qualit audio nettamente inferiore se passa attraverso il cavo USB rispetto a quello ottico. La qualit audio diventa di poco superiore a quella che si otterebbe inserendo le cuffie nel controller senza mixamp. Si pu ovviare il problema se avete un’uscita audio nella TV, in questo caso la qualit audio resta invariata anche con le console di nuova generazione. Tuttavia in questo modo non si pu usufruire della chat di gioco in cuffia e se giocate con degli amici dovrete necessariamente collegare le cuffie al controller o collegare il mixamp via USB alla console.
Alla fine le consiglio caldamente se sono il vostro primo acquisto e avete un’uscita ottica dalla tv. Altrimenti il gioco non vale la candela. Se avete gi un vecchio mixamp o qualche altra scheda audio esterna che non permette la chat di gioco tantovale che investiate i vostri soldi solo nelle cuffie.
