What can a 1200 watt inverter run?
The wattage of every electrical appliance can be found on the underside or near the motor of the appliance.
The running wattage is usually different from the start-up wattage and for those devices that are powered by electric motors, the running wattage required to start them up is usually twice the running wattage.
A 1200w inverter will be able to power a number of appliances whose combined power requirement does not exceed 1200w at the same time.
A typical 1200 watts power inverter can power most small to medium sized electrical appliances such as televisions, microwave ovens, cell phones, LED lights, refrigerator, coffee makers, handheld tools, laptops, DVD player, and game consoles.
Refrigerators use an electric motor and a compressor to generate cold air, this means that it requires triple the running wattage to start up.

I use this in my campervan to power my lights etc Does the job
Easy to set up, does not like 400 watt heaters but for drills and lighting it’s grea
Had mine for about a year now and not had any problems. Great thing is its small, really quiet and shows you how much energy you are using. With 2 plugs and usb ports its brilliant. I use it in my campervan. As an American brand you can’t go wrong.
Very good. Will give you up to about 1700 watts no problem at all.
Made myself a decent set of leads and hard wired it into the boot of the car with the leisure battery.
Good size and useful display!
Excellent piece of kit. Simply check your items wattage and if it’s below 1200 you’re off and away. I’ve tried it with my 1180W circular saw and it works. My bigger tools will have to use my generator. I have my mobility scooter on charge in the van also. Very quiet in operation.
Does what it says on the can really reliable using it in my van which I used with two leisure batteries attached and it’s very very efficie
On the test carry out so far, it nice to have display this one is rather small,
and I would have liked it ,a bit bigger ,but the original size shows input voltage an output voltage and watts used is very handy.
I haven’t push the inverter to it full output yet, what I have done so far is carry out test which I done with other inverters and they have been rather warm or hot, this one has keep cool which is good new.
I also like it carrying ability, it has handle which makes it safe to transport around to different areas.
I liked the promptness of delivery and also the outlook of the design. It’s a nice product which I find useful for getting power from battery connections outdoors.
Im using this in my campervan. Smart looking, well built inverter with a carry handle. Quite a bulky item but not overly heavy and very little fan noise whilst on. The well lit screen shows volts in,volts out,and usefully a wattage meter so you know exactly how many items can run off it at a time, and monitor usage etc. 1200watts means it will power a 600w 240v heater with no issues or many lower wattage items together. Seems good value for a top brand. So far so good
Did exactly what it was supposed to do and no interference a nice product.
Bought as a standby power source for a fridge/freezer (~800W on startup, ~200W running) during power cuts. Tested it for 5 hours and it does the job without fuss or getting too hot.
The only downside I have found (hence the removal of 1 star) is what happens if you connect the battery the wrong way round. When I accidentally did this there was a loud bang followed by a metallic smell and the unit did not work. Fearing the worst I checked everything and found that all four 50A spade fuses on the rear of the unit had blown (hence the loud bang), so I replaced them (you get four spare 50A fuses with the unit) and powered it up correctly. Joy of joys it worked so the reverse polarity protection does the job, but noisily.
Good quality inverter, but advertising is a little misleading, this unit is modified sine wave, but the photo of a coffee machine is in the description, for those that doesn’t know, you need the more expensive pure sine wave to run coffee machines and some other appliances. The only reference to modified sine wave is in the instructions in the box!
Brilliant inverter for the back of the van. Hooked up to a leisure battery with a isolated switch in the middle to turn off when not in use.
Powers a 600w kettle and 12v lights no problem.
Did exactly what I bought it for – to run my old and electricity-greedy laptop (largely broken battery too) off a horse battery while working in the car. I anticipate it will also be useful for running other items away from an electricity source. Very pleased with it.
The item arrived well packed and on time as is normal with Amazon. I was initially surprised how light it was compared to other inverters I have owned, so was a little sceptical of its capabilities. I intend to use it mainly in our campervan for those items you just can’t run on 12 volt. My first test was using it to power a small 400 watt travel hair dryer which it did perfectly as you would expect, the next was a 1200 watt microwave which again it coped without problem. I only ran it for two minutes as the battery I was using was only 80ah, I have two of these in the van and will have to link these together and beef up the wiring to cope with the heavy load. The unit is very neat and nicely finished and I’m hoping it will live up to these initial tests. A couple of points to note, when connecting to your battery there is a little sparking between the clamp and terminal, this is normal. The display takes a few seconds to show when switched on and finally this is a modified sine wave inverter and from previous experience probably not suitable for appliances such as electric toothbrushes with inductive chargers as they tend to blow the charger.
So overall very pleased with the inverter.
Excellent inverter, now can use 240v appliances in caravan. Vac, drill, tele etc.
Really good quality. Ran a fridge and a 1,300watt vacuum cleaner for a while without overloading. I was just testing. It runs fridge really well and then I unplug to run a microwave for few minutes and no problems.
Delighted with this welder, easy to use and very portable. Would definitely recommend.
I’ve run 400w through this inverter and run a condenser drying off of a car battery without any issue, looking forward to many years of use.
Very quiet, displays the what is being used and never tripped unlike the other inverters ive purchased.
Inverter arrived in 2 days. Very nice machine, light weight and compact easy to install.
Great product easy to set up. Would be good if it came with a 12v adaptor so you can use in the car rather than having to buy separate.
Very good New models improving the modern look you can not beat these invertors BESTEK are the best out there I’ve been using the brand for years
This Bestek Inverter is probably in a class of it’s own. Compared to all the others out there this is a very well made unit with excellent finish. Nice and light, easy to handle. The big thing for me is the fact that the fan for cooling does not run all the time, only when needed. This means I can also just connect a low voltage light for reading and have no annoying consistent humming sound from a fan ( with all the others the fan just switches on as soon as you connect the unit to a battery). This also means that the Inverter-Fan itself is not a drain on the battery. Compared to the ”normal” standard Inverter this thing oozes quality.Testing : we have a good few of the car inverters no name and branded, but they just can’t compete. I attached the Inverter to the 120aH Deep Cycle Battery and then connected the charger for a Bosch Electric Bike ( 4-8A) . At the same time we charged 3 small USB Bike lights ( of which one is quite strong, over 1.5A) and kept a LED Livingroom light connected. All in all the Inverter Display shows 456 Watt. After an hour the Inverter is not even a tiny bit warm, fan never needed to work and all is charged. This suggests that this charger is very powerful and can handle serious loads. Very fair price! Recommended!
Worked perfectly running at a constant 500w+ draw over 2 hours
The product is well built. And at peek 2100 Watts. I use this for remote areas. To power my tools
