Learn to Listen! If you are coming from cheap, bass-boosted muddy Bluetooth headphones, you might get an initial shock as you can suddenly hear more than just the bass. The sudden change may trigger a panicked trip to the EQ to immediately ramp up the bass, but I would strongly advise against doing this (I’m not suggesting to ignore EQ changes, but why would you immediately try to make these headphones sound like your old $35 back-up pair other than for that small comfort of familiarity?).
The lows, mids, and highs are all there, just maybe not in the way that you are used to. A subtler touch with the EQ (especially around 6-8khz) smooths out the highs, but otherwise they really don’t need much adjusting. Pair these headphones with a suitable setup and service like Tidal and you can enjoy the newfound layers of your favourite songs!
Overall, they sound good, feel sturdy, and do a good job at blocking external sound even without ANC, though I would also recommend the softer velour cushions over the synthetic leather.
Best headphones I've head Suddenly you’re able to hear sounds you didn’t even know were there in your favourite songs. Very rich sound, good bass, good high pitch. Comfortable, but do not attempt to do any sports in them, your ears will likely overheat. But just for listening to the music or watching movies they are excellent, even for long hours. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Simple and Brillia Another great purchase from Beyerdynamic. I have had the DT 770 pro 80 ohm headphones for years but I wanted a more portable pair. In my search I went through a number of sets from other brands and all had serious flaws due to overly complex designs and/or low durability. My budget also has not increased. And so only one clear choice remained, the 32 ohm DT 770 pro! The wire is a more manageable length and it even sounds a little more punchy. Of course if they made the wire detachable in the first place I could have just switched wires and saved a lot of money but honestly can’t say I regret the purchase!
Crisp, clean sound Did a lot of research before deciding on these cans. Just needed for Garage band on an iMac so 32ohms is fine. Wish the lead was a bit longer but that’s the only gripe. Nice and comfortable with a great sound. Job done.
Decent sound but a bit uncomfortable to wea I bought these to use at home instead of my Sony WH-1000MX4. At least to my ears the Sonys and the DT770s sound equally good. The downside with the DT770s is they clamp quite tightly and are uncomfortably tight especially whilst wearing spectacles. Also they aren’t great for use whilst lying down because they are large and dig into pillows or cushions increasing the pressure on your ears. Other than that they are decent headphones at a fair price.
Great For Voice Acting These headphones are great! They are comfy, sound amazing and have been a huge help in editing audio, both when it comes to music production and voice acting, they aren’t completely flat EQ wise, but they certainly give a wide range of punchy bass and clean highs.
If you are buying these for just recreational use then perhaps look elsewhere, they are great but more on a professional level than a casual one, casual headphones often sound better with music and gaming as they are designed for that purpose.
These headphones are meant for editing audio and therefore give a more accurate sound, even if it sounds “worse” because of it.
TLDR: Great for anyone who needs professional headphones
For even more comfort add the velour ear pad set. You can easily wear these headphones for the whole day. They have great sound isolation and provide great sound even at very low volume. Bass is deep but not overpowering and the sound stage is much wider than I expected for closed headphones. For even more comfort add the velour ear pad set.
Superb sound quality for editing quality and fi Excellent balanced sound quality. I use for long periods of video editing and sound Scape recording.
My ears and head too wide for a comfortable fit over extended wearing. They became painful and therefore distracting limiting the wearing time. This didn’t ease over time so sadly I had to return them.
Good studio headphones I use these to monitor audio with an MPC and they sound superb, though you will need a headphone amp as the they aren’t very loud.
All frequencies sound balanced with no muddyness or tinny sound.
Build quality is why it gets 4 stars. The headband is good and adjusts nicely and the fabric around the ears is very comfy and makes a nice change from the faux leather which peels. They don’t appear to make your ears too hot and sweaty. The bit I don’t like is that the outter ear pieces feel like a plastic shell that could crack easily, if they were made to feel more hardy I’d have given them 5 stars.
Weight is light and and it has a good, heavy, chunky cable. Very pleased overall
These are my first pair of studio headphones and the Beyerdynamics truly shine with excellent sound quality coupled with good comfort and sturdy design. I bought the 32 ohm version for use with my mobile phone and my laptop. The headphones have very good clarity and are neutral sounding with good sub bass frequency thanks to their 5-35000 hz frequency response range. Some reviewers state that they experience treble fatigue with these headphone however i felt no such thing. The high frequencies are perfect and i have no complaints there. They have a wide soundstage and do not distort even at full volume although you wont find the need to exceed 70% volume on your phone or laptop. I was in two minds regarding whether to get the Audio Technica ATH M50X or the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro however i decided to go with the Beyerdynamics due to their better frequency range. All in all these headphones are totally worth it. Great monitor headphones for home music productio Did a lot of research and Beyerdynamic DT 770 and other DT headphones always get great reviews on the music production sites I go on. My music quality has improved since getting these.
The 32 Ohm vs 80 Ohm vs 250 Ohm was a bit confusing but I went 32 Ohm as I wanted to be loud enough to use them with just the laptop and no powered amp when I’m working in the living room or bedroom and they are plenty loud enough for that.
And when I plug them into a powered amp when I’m in the home studio they go even louder.
Comfortable solid traditional budget headphones. Firstly context, I have 71-year-old’s ears and I’m not an audio file. I have Several headphones Bluetooth and wired (Sony Sennheiser and apple). The DT 770s pro are comfortable over the ears and on the head. Listening experience for me is more than satisfactory. The mids and highs were clear and the base was fairly good but perhaps not good enough if you’re into music that requires more on the lower end. I would also say that there was a good separation of sound across the range. I was able to pick out individual instruments if I wish to do so whilst listening to the music. I chose the 32 ohm version as I use it with mostly on mobile devices. Perhaps the only criticism would be the over ear parts feel a little sort of plasticky and cheap, however the headband is made of metal I like a strong enough to last. I have given it a score of five to reflect its value for money. Unable to comment on gaming use noise cancellation is not applicable to this type of headset. I have used it with a microphone in blogging mode and the loopback voice is very clear.

Brilliant not too bass heavy!
I love them, I use for mixing mostly really good for being able to pick out the small things.
