This Black + Decker 2.2kW PTC fan heater offers the choice of three different wind modes – fan/warm/hot – which can be controlled using the touch controls, offering versatile use all year round. The hot air generated by the heater is preserved in the ceramic element which helps to maintain a consistent temperature while using less energy.
You can also programme the 8-hour timer for a time that suits. You can direct the heated air flow with the oscillation feature which provides heat coverage across a 60° angle. Overheat protection provides safety and complete peace of mind. An integrated carry handle provides easy maneuverability from room to room.

I love this item as it heats up so fast. I am yet to use it to cool a room but as it shows the temperature on it I can’t see it being a problem. I was just going to buy another one but they are sold out. I’m in a wheelchair so needed something easy to move and this ticks all the boxes with a nice long cord.

It heats up quickly. It is fairly quiet. I tend to use the controls on top rather than the remote control.

This is a great little heater, takes up little space, warms up quickly and very easy to use.
At the time we received this there was a large onus on the fact that this doubled as a fan (cool) whereas it now seems to mainly focus on this being a heater. As a heater this is brilliant but as a fan (cooler) its pretty useless.
As a heater this is super warm and the remote works well however despite the manual advising there is a remote holder on the unit we have yet to find it (it doesn’t exist). The heater oscillates and you can either manually choose one of the temperature settings or select the temperature you wish the unit to heat to.
The unit has a built in timer up to 8 hours and I can’t complain at all about any of the heating elements which once again have come in super handy this winter. I can confirm for longevity we have had the unit over 6 months now and it still woks perfectly.

Really effective, works well in our conservatory where it’s cold but in just a couple of minutes after turning on the room is at a comfortable temperature. It has a tip over switch and overheat protection, it oscillates 60 degrees, a 2.2 KW output and remote controlled. The temperature can be regulated between 10-49 degrees. There is a handle to pick up at the back and an on off switch as well as the LCD display panel on top front.
This is a really efficient heater that is very easy to use. I love the remote control, which again is easy to use.

The unit is reasonably well designed in a utilitarian kind of way, although it’s no Dyson when it comes to aesthetics. That’s ok though, because it doesn’t cost anything close to as much as a Dyson either.
One strange oversight is that although the manual claims the carry handle at the rear of the unit doubles up as a place to store the remote control, that’s definitely not the case on the unit I’ve got – there’s no possible way it could work.
In terms of functionality, it can operate as just a fan or a combined fan and heater. There are two heat power settings which can be manually set, or you can let the unit choose itself based on setting a target temperature. It also features oscillation and a timer setting of up to 8 hours. The remote control is a nice touch, but feels like a bit of a gimmick.
Whilst the heater works well the fan is pretty lacklustre and makes a surprising amount of noise considering how little air it seems to move. The unit also makes very loud beeps whenever a button is pressed, and there seems to be no way to disable this.
Overall it’s ok, but not amazing.
Warms front room up very quickly and easy to use
I really like it, my fireplace sucks and doesn’t throw off much heat so this is great for cold nights when I’m feeling the weather and want to be warm and cosy. My brother has tried to swipe it a time or two, but I can take him.

It looks modern and sleek with a blue LED screen displaying temperature. It is very user friendly and easy to set up.
Our lounge was warmed up in not time! We are really impressed with the thought that went into the design of this heater. The remote is very convenient to adjust the temperature from wherever you are in the room.

The BLACK&DECKER 30 Inch Tower Fan Heater is tall electric heater. Out of the box you get the fan unit; a remote control and a small manual. The manual is very informative; with useful safety advice like not using it around your swimming pool; but they forgot to illustrate the assuming you don’t want to know what any of the symbols on the led screen of the fan mean.
The power cable is a short 1 meter length; there isn’t a cable storage or tidy function on the fan unit. There is a grip to pick up the fan . The remote control is infra red and it works happily across the room. The fan does have 3 modes but im not sure what they are. Adjusting the temperature up and down switches the modes on the unit; dropping it down to 10c the heat cut out and it became a regular fan. The There is a rotation feature. In operation the single fan speed is fairly quiet.
The fan unit itself is quite tall – around 80Cm – and feels a little insubstantial; the wobbly feel when touching the fan as it rests on its stand starts the feeling. The shake when pressing one of the blister buttons around the screen; or the toggle switch to turn it on at the back moves it to notable issue. The wobbliness is likely compounded by the hight of the unit; but the extra hight does make it good at moving air around the room.
Every time you power the unit up; it blows a stream of hot air very quickly. This is partly as it defaults to 25c; clearly Black and Decker haven’t got the message about turning the temperature down. One of the modes is automatic and it heats to temperature and then rolls back which is nice. The manual says there are two heating modes; low and high power; the fan heater transitions to high power as the temperature is set to 23c. When you power the fan down the unit blows cool air for 30 seconds to take the heat of out it.
For the price the build of this fan and the manual should be better which is why its 4*’s. If you look beyond the build the fan and the heating element do work well and quickly and quietly warm a room up. The remote control and the strong heating lifted it up to 4*s
This Black and Decker fan heater is very impressive. Unpack the box and it is instantly ready to go, with very easy instructions to follow. The instructions recommend that the fan heater is plugged straight into a wall socket rather than into an extension lead. The plug should be switched on at the wall and then there is a switch located at the back of the heater. Once this is switched on, using the remote or the control panel on the top of the tower, press the standby indicator and the display will immediately show the current room temperature. When the plus or minus indicator is pressed, the default temperature value is displayed and the plus or minus indicators are pressed to alter the default reading to the desired temperature. Easy!
Instant heat is available and depending on the size of the room the heater is being used in, and whether there are doors or windows open, the room soon reaches the desired temperature and comfort can be enjoyed. When the heater is to be switched off, the standby indicator is pressed and a countdown is displayed. Once the countdown reaches zero, the heater switches off and the switch at the back should then be switched into the off position. The instructions recommend that the wall socket should be switched off and the mains plug removed. Unfortunately there is no hook at the back of the heater to keep the mains lead tidy but this has been the only problem I have found.
Just as the heater will warm a room, it will also cool a room down. A bonus! Overall, an excellent fan heater.
