Excellent saw.
Very easy to use and a solid bit of kit. Can be a bit heavy for using overhead but all in an excellent bit of kit. The only downside is the carry case is a bit flimsy
Our mature plum tree fell down due to gale force winds.Instead of paying ,80 for a handyman to clear the tree I bought this Black and Decker electric saw through Amazon. I was able to cut the thick branches of the fallen plum tree and clear the garden all by myself!.I am 83 years!
This is big, robust and powerful, and simpe to change the blades.

The blade is not mounted near the front so difficult to see if the blade is following your line on not.
The spare blades are not so widely available in the shops, but can get them online
Job saw
Bought for the wife to undertake small tasks. Works as it should. A bit heavy in longer use and vibrates quite a lot but works as it should.
A useful tool for a variety of projects.
I bought a second one because it is such a useful tool. However, the blade holder on my first one broke with only intermittent use over a number of years, so I will use this one less robustly and hope for the best.
Brilliant product so easy to use cuts through timber like butter 2 x 2 , 3 x5 , 4 x 4 nothing was an issue built my wooden gazebo but change my timbers for heavier up-stands & the electric saw cut through the timbers in 60 seconds no more hard work pushing & pulling a hand saw throw it away & buy your hubby one of these as l was sceptical at 1st but no more it now my best friend

Ordered this for my partner for Christmas who has loads of power tools but not an electric saw. He was well pleased with his gift and has used it already.

I tend to use it in the garden for cutting large branches or small trunks which would be more difficult with a hand saw or bow saw. I am 80 years old and so find this a really helpful product. There can be some vibration and so it needs to be held firmly – but really effective and at quite a competitive price. I would have liked a slightly longer saw blade.

Decent for small jobs
I bought this to saw wardrobes and chairs, so I could throw it in the bin over the months instead of ordering a bulk collection!!
It does the job well, its just decent nothing special, shame blades aren’t longer though.

Not a bad saw at all, I have only used it on wood and it works well. My only gripe would be the length of the lead, really could do with being a bit longer.

What a great piece of kit, I have used it for both purposes and it has been really impressive. The supplied blades are so easy to install and remove and of good quality. It comes neatly packed in a sturdy box. Replacement blades are readily available and not too expensive. Highly recommended as a great all rounder.
Better than the 400 I have both.
Really good product just make sure you buy the right replacement blade/s when you need to replace the main wood blade. This is the 500 not 400. The auto cutter helps cut wood with ease.

Good for small items
Nice and easy to use . Only cuts small trees . Vibrates a lot so make sure you wear proper gloves . Wear a face covering as makes a lot of sawdust. We used to cut through small roots. The metal saw is good again only for small jobs

The only gripe is the placement of the power cord but I quickly found the best place for it is over the shoulder. Haven’t tried a blade change yet. The carry case is well designed and seems robust.

Cutting sheet steel (2mm thick): the saw dealt with this easily. On the right setting for cutting steel, progress is steady and a bit slow, but letting the blade do the work and not exerting too much pressure helps. Seeing exactly where the cut is being made when keeping the saw guide flat to the sheet surface can be difficult – but the joint between the two parts of the shell case at the back does line up nicely with the cut line. Took me a few cuts before I spotted this aid!

Now look down to the photos you will see Amazon nose about this and after getting told I wasn’t getting a refund I showed the photos on ther page I got my refund apart from 2. I didn’t understand why that I was 2. Short good machine but you can’t get wood blades

I love this saw! I am not able to saw through wood without too much effort so this has proved a great purchase. We have used to saw through branches of apple tree. Make raised beds using 2 inch thick timber. There is some vibration but I am able to handle it without problem.

Black and decker in my experience are durable and VFM.
Black and decker are better than Bosch in my opinion. Parts are cheaper and I still have a fully functional drill which is nearly 30yrs old .

This is a little workhorse and does a great job. This is the second one I have bought. I would give the device 5 out of 5, but unfortunately the mechanism for swapping blades isn’t the easiest to use and was eventually the weak spot that broke on my last saw. The price and the use I got out of the saw did mean I felt more than justified to buy a replacement.

I received the saw in good time and have used it to cut branches of trees in my garden.I can recommend this saw to anyone. It is reasonably priced and performance is really good It comes with 3 saw blades which is useful. I recommend the top of the range one which comes with a carry case.

I bought this for cutting thick branches and driftwood, it’s works an absolute treat! After reading other reviews I’d just like to say it’s a real handy recip but by no means is it a chainsaw! so don’t expect to be flying though thick logs with a 50 reciprocating saw
