Bought for my mother. She is very impressed with the look. And how easy it is to set up. Warms her room nicely.
Fed up of being cold so splashed out on this tower heater. Wow. Warms room up really quickly. So easy to use. Assembled in minutes. Fire at the bottom makes you feel real cosy.
The tower design of this unit helps heat the room faster than the traditional “box” type units. I have not yet tried the Cool Air function due to the time of the year. The unit looks good and well made. It is worth checking the dimesions of the heater against your room size as it needs to stand alone and takes up a bit of space. Fine for my application though and I am pleased with the buy.
Great heater . Looks good better in real life .not noisy with adequate heat . The fan setting is ok don’t expect to cool a room as will only blow air around . As a heater does the job perfectly.
Great piece of kit, throws some great heat out instantly, it’s ideal for large front room.
The heater is quiet, produces instant heat and maintains my conservatory to an ambient temperature during thes really cold days of late.
Great for warming a room and switches off automatically when reaching the desired temperature. Can be a bit costly on the electricity bill though!
I love this heater, you can just tell how high quality it is. Remote works perfectly, love the ceramic heating system and the nice fire effect – really makes it feel cozy. I am happy I spent the money to buy a quality one as oppossed to a cheaper brand I hadn’t heard of that would probably just break! I 100% recommend 🙂 thanks!
This heater is amazing it looks great with the flame effect and is extremely warm.
Brilliant. Really happy with it on both accounts: its style and its effectiveness.
I was worried the fire glow would be tacky, but it looks really cool and fun. It’s a bit like having a large lava lamp that heats the room. Fans always make some noise but I won’t notice this when TV is on. Love being able to turn it on and off with remote from the sofa. Makes the sitting room extra cosy without turning central heating up.
Everithing else is alright but appart for the cooling settings, when outside was 35 degrees i couldnt cool down my room at all, it does give cold kind of
Very nice item!! gives good heat and it is very easy to move
Very good heater, nice quality, good sound, nice log fire effect, easy too handle, but a bit too expensive.
Very pleased with heater does what it should, smart meter shows 25p. Per hour.12p on e7.very quiet, lots of people complaining about noise ,this is not a issue.ordered on Monday delivery date was Saturday.arrived Tuesday, well done amazo
Love this heater. The only downside is that when it turns off upon reaching the target temperature, it’s flame imitation is producing a faint churning noise that’s a bit annoying. Fortunately, the flame effect can be turned off.
Quickly heats up and the light effect is better than I thought.
Very good but a clear manual describing all the modes is missing.
Very happy with it was unsure on the price but I’m pleased with it. Can soon warm a room up even on the eco mode, the flame effect at the bottom looks nice too it’s something different.
Bought to heat conservatory. nice looking and compact. Quite quiet in operation. Overall quite pleased with this fan heater, but not the cheapest form of heating, but my only option was this type of heater.
Fantastic product well worth a look, trows out heat and heats a full room in minits. I’d well recommend it, with its lovely glow fire at the bottom. Also it’s eco friendly too so buy today.
This for us as been a great time to review this Black and Decker tower heater as we have been having home improvements done and so we have been without radiators front and back due to plastering and decorating although we have a wood burner at the front of the house, and I kid you not this tower really throws out the heat and kept us warm in the kitchen/dining room area in this very cold weather.
It’s a great looking tower and as been admired quite a lot with family and friends as it’s so very up to date and very striking.
It is so very easy to use as is the remote control and arrived fully assembled.
Three temperature settings for the winter and two settings for the summer ( the summer settings I’ve not yet tried obviously it’s to darn cold, but I’m sure they will be just as brilliant as the winter settings ) which is ever so warm.
Led display with easy to use soft control screen settings to regulate temperatures between 5 / 35 degrees and mine as been on the full.
The rotary system provides heat all the way around our home making it very cosy .
It as a carry handle for easy movement from room to room and a tip over switch & overheat protection and a child lock for safety.
Love the remote control holder and appreciate the foam filter that prevent dust from building up in the tower for easy cleaning.
Sits Very nice and compact in a corner of the room, and doesn’t take up much space.
Very powerful tower heater with a 24 hour timer by Black & Decker that I love and absolutely highly recommending.
The tower heater was well packaged and required no assembly on arrival. Various pieces of tape needed removal at the edges of covers applied to avoid damage during transit. I fitted the remote control with two new AAA batteries.
First impressions were good as it seemed very stable on it’s base and stylish in it’s black and white colour scheme. Once plugged in I soon got the heater working using the supplied remote, without any reference to the instructions, from a distance of about eight feet. So it passed the intuitive controls test straight away.
The heater can be set to a specific temperature and fan speed. It was difficult to tell if the heater was working from a distance since there were none of the usual initial ‘hot’ smells coming from the heater. The heater itself doesn’t glow red hot so is all the safer for it but it will cut out if tipped over which I demonstrated worked effectively. You had to go up to it and feel for hot air coming out of the vents since there were few signs from sight and smell. The heater can be shut off using the remote as well as set the timer, change fan speed, temperature and rotation. The fan would keep on running during shutdown presumably to avoid the ceramic elements overheating if you suddenly stopped the air flow. Not a problem as shut down was achieved in seconds. You can also get the fan to rotate during operation but I was on my own and just had it in the corner of the room which was where the 240V socket was so there didn’t seem to be any need for me to use it. Especially as the heater seemed to chuck out warm air so effectively without it. However I did try it and can report that there was a more than adequate arc of rotation and no extra noise from the rotation mechanism. The fan was not particularly noisy but even on the slow speed it may be too much too sleep if used in the bedroom at night albeit I prefer a cooling temperature in order to fall asleep. After referring to the manual I found that the 24hr timer was a very good way of ensuring I woke up to warm feet in the morning but could get a good nights sleep in a cooling bedroom in the evening. Preferable to centrally heating the whole of a great big house that could be empty during the day.
Overall a very effective and attractive product that seems to have high standards of safety and control. I can see this getting a lot of use over the coming winter.
This heater can really emit some heat. I was happily surprised the first time I used it. I’m using it in our conservatory currently and it warms it up really quickly. These heaters do use a lot of electricity though so bear this is mind.
Pros:
– Comes with a handy little remote so whilst I’m working on my computer I can adjust the heat settings without going over
– Has an eco friendly option which I’d suggest you turn on if you’re planning on running it for long amounts of time
– The temperature range is really good, although I usually use the default it sets to and this is enough for a good amount of heat in a short amount of time
– The heat it emits is incredible. It honestly heats up our whole conservatory (which is 10’5″ x 9’6″) in minutes. The oscillating function means it heats up a good area evenly too
– The fire effect is really pretty and gives the room a lovely ambience, it doesn’t look tacky or fake at all, it really has a lot of depth. So much nicer than traditional electric heaters
– Great size and easy to transport. The actual electrical unit has a groove you can use as a handle and it lifts off the circular, flat base easily
– Controls on the top are easy to use touch controls, and you can change the heat, set a timer, turn the oscillating function on and off, set the eco function or turn off the light easily (or use the aforementioned remote)
Cons:
– Not that you would do this often, but you can easily just lift the unit off the base with it turned on so just be careful (I’m guessing it needs to be loose so it can actually turn properly)
– Makes the lights flicker when it turns on – not sure if this is our weird electrics but it does go to show how much electricity it uses!
This heater is perfect. Yes it’s fairly expensive but it’s so worth it. The remote, the easy-to-use touch controls and the beautiful flame effect are nice enough, but couple that with the fact it heats areas so quickly it really is worth the money. If you’re worried about electricity the eco function is a huge plus. I’d recommend this in a heartbeat, and if doesn’t take up much space either!
it is a very good heating that have remote which can use it when i am on bed. it is hot enough for my whole room. and very fast heat up. i like the tube sharp which is save a lot of space.
This is an excellent product- it looks good, sits nicely in the living room, isn’t too loud and is very quick and easy to use. It’s attractively boxed and on removal it’s straightforward to set-up. You get a remote control that needs 2 AAA batteries to use and a rather basic paper user manual. Whilst the instructions and control layout make this tower heater very easy to use and set up, there is no mention in the manual of the AI function on this heater or how it works. That’s a bit of a shame as we don’t know how this mode differs from the other modes- two fan settings and three heat settings, the heat settings and mysterious AI mode all have independent programmable temperature settings. There’s also a timer setting too.
All in all this is a nice product – it’s quiet in use, easy to operate with the remote control, makes light work of warming our medium sized living room and it looks slim, elegant and considered -in fact it looks great in any room in the house. At the price it’s good value too – there’s a lot to like about this produc
This heater has an on switch and in a standby switch, so won’t work with a smart plug. However, it does have its own built-in timer so it’s not a problem. There are 3 heat settings: low, medium and high. You use the up/down buttons to adjust the heat setting, which is visible on th digital display. It has a grab handle on the top, so that you can move it around easily and somewhere to store the remote. As with a lot of modern heaters, it had a safety tip-over mode so that if it falls over, it stops working. It stands 33 inches high by approximately 8 inches wide.
This unit doubles up as a cooling fan for the summer with 2 cool fan speeds, medium and high. (These don’t put out heat.) You can select oscillating mode, and this oscillates to degree of 70. It has a programmable 24-hour timer. It comes with a remote control. With heaters, it’s nice to have a recognisable brand name such as Black & Decker, however I did find the instructions not quite as clear as I would have liked with regard to the fact that you can use this as a cooling fan as well as a heater, but it’s a small quibble. This is idea to heat and cool a garage or a cabin.
This tower fan heater is easy to assemble out of the box. Just twist on the base which is about 30cm in diameter. You get a coin battery for the simple remote,
You can use the remote or the top of the heater. Use the arrows to increase or decrease the temperature. There is a internal thermostat so it will stop when the desired temperature is reached. You can choose to have the 3D flame/ volcanic rock image on the front which actually glows! You can switch this off if you just want, if you keep it on then it remains there also once the temperature is reached.
You can get this to rotate from side to side and stop it wherever you like.
This is a great looking heater which doesn’t have a huge footprint. It only gets 4 stars because you can hear it. It’s not terribly loud but it isn’t silent either.
My wife and I had been looking for an electric heater to use in our conservatory during the colder months – and this tower heater from Black & Decker is ideal for that purpose. Of course, these type of heaters are not the most economical forms of heating compared with gas boiler central heating. However, we’ll just be using it for the occasional hour or so.
I have to mention that this attractive tower heater is VERY EASY to operate. The instruction booklet includes clear diagrams and simple-to-follow written instructions. You can set it to your desired temperature, from a minimum of 15 degrees to a maximum of 35 degrees- the default setting is 25 degrees. To save energy and power, you have an ECO button. The unit is equipped with a 24hr timer – so you can set it to run for your desired time – in increments of 1 hour. The rotary oscillation function adds a nice touch because it means the heat is distributed through an 80 degree arc. It’s worth mentioning that as soon as you switch on the unit you get ‘instant’ heat, due in part to its ceramic element.
A nice feature is the LED flame effect, which can be switched on or off. The unit comes with a straight forward to use remote control – the only function that can’t be selected from it is the ECO mode, which has to be selected on the unit’s top control panel. I can’t ever see myself using the remote, but it’s there for those who desire it – when not in use it can be discreetly stored in a slot at the top rear of the tower. Additionally, there is a recessed carry handle in the top of the unit, so the unit can be easily moved around the house.
This 2kW flame effect ceramic tower heater from Black & Decker has (in my opinion) been thoughtfully designed. It’s a nice looker, has all the features we were seeking, generates plenty of heat, it’s relatively quiet in use and so easy to operate. Oh, and there’s no maintenance required – the occasional wipe over with a microfibre cloth to remove any dust and you’re ready to go. This is a super modern heater that has impressed my wife and I, so I accordingly give it the thumbs up – highly recommended.
This fan heater from Black & Decker comes well packaged and nicely presented. Out of the box it is very easy to assemble with just a click of the base into the main unit. It is provided with a remote control with full functionality which stores in the unit itself.
The video attached shows the flame affect lighting which is less kitsch than I thought it was going to be and actually gives quite a warming glow. It has two levels of heat, the top level being two KW And the lower level being somewhat less.
It is very quiet in operation and just give us a gentle hum which is actually quite reassuring. It is easy to operate with both the remote control and the control panel on the top.
Functionally, it is very effective at heating a room quickly. It has a safety feature that one knocked over, the heater will stop working. This is quite reassuring.
The only criticism I have is that when the power is cut, it loses its memory and you have to reprogram the heat setting that you want the fan to be on from the beginning.
Other than that, it’s an effective tall fan heater. It heats very quickly and has a nice soothing glow with its lighting system. You could argue that it is a little overpriced for a fan heater but it wouldn’t be out of place in your lounge and it’s really quite a smart piece of kit.
If you are looking for a high end, nice looking fan heater, look no further!!
This oscillating tower may be considered expensive when compared to smaller models on the market, but there is absolutely no chance of you going cold when you plug this thing in. The heater section is at the middle to top part of the tower so it’s a good height to blast heat at you if you are sitting down or lying in bed. The bottom part has a realistic glowing ember effect, but the squirmy, flickering red lighting behind this remind me of the Aurora Borealis or a lava lamp. There is an easy to use tiny remote control which I hope not to lose in the future. Yes there is a slot for it in the heater, but I find myself unlikely to use the remote control and then remove myself from my snug little nest to insert it back into the heater. There is most usefully a remote timer, so you can set this heater for a couple of hours and not worry about it when you fall asleep.
There is no warming up, you do get any immediate powerful blast of heat, but this comes at a price. This heater is somewhat noisy plus it seems to take a while to stop after pressing the power button. In reality this is less than 10 seconds, but I would prefer an immediate stop for a heater. In addition if I needed to move this heater from room to room, it’s a little heavier than I would like plus the sheer size makes it bulky to move around despite the integrated hand hold slot.
Approx. dimension:
Heater height 46cm
Ember effect height 28cm
Total height 83cm
Heater diameter 14cm
Base diameter 26cm
