I used this to pump pond water through my filter beside my pond as it has a filtration in the pump keeps the water from going gree
Pump working fine but the light doesn’t come on. Have tried the switch both ways. Is it possible to receive a replacement bulb?
Great pump, we’ve had it a couple of years and let’s be honest don’t clean it out enough yet it’s still going strong. Highly recommended

If you have big fish you may want to try anchoring it down.
This pump is great for the blagdon ponds. We bought this one as the last one finally packed in , we had it for ages. I do recommend you place something heavy on it once placed in the pond at first as it did float up and fall on its side.
First the pump. It is quite big once the pump and filter are connected, which is easy enough. Also, which other reviewers have mentioned, I was surprised that you need two quite separate power connections; pump and UV lamp. Not hard to sort out, but an unnecessary complication.
Everything is easy enough to put together and get working. This model has a split output which we wanted. It is adequate though not exciting, but at 27W it was never going to be super powerful.
Once in place, it takes a short while, but it really does clear up the pond. Our smallish pond with six fish took about a week to reach the point where we could see the bottom. We never could see the bottom before this pump/filter was installed.
However, that is the story of my ‘second’ pump
Customer service from Blagdon is pretty poor – but at least they answered.
The first pump was installed and worked as expected but the water did not clear. After cleaning the filters, still no joy. I then checked the UV lamp which was blown; this in the first two weeks which I considered an unreasonably short time.
The Amazon support points you to the Blagdon site and a Blagdon customer service form. In short their response was ‘this is a consumable part, you should buy another. Or you can use Amazon’s replacement process”.
So rather than send a bulb Blagdon are happy to go through the whole replacement process and presumably get a used unit back from Amazon.
Anyhow, Amazon exchanged it no problem. I simply swapped the bulbs and returned the unit with a broken bulb.
So, with a working UV bulb it seems very good. However, I am not feeling confident if I need to use the three year warranty in the future.
Very easy to setup, impressed at length of power cord. Plenty of movement in water and clarity. Looks impressive at night with light on,nice to sit by at night relaxing to sound of the water.
This is a very good pump indeed. It solved the problem I had with green water within a day.
This is a replacement as the casing was broken. Replacement issued same day so no problem. Does not come with a fitted plug and instructions do not say what fuse should be in the plug. Easy to install and assemble can be used with or with the light and fountain.

Good – it does keep the water really very clear. I installed it after I had a complete pea soup. I installed this along with some of the algae treatment from the same manufacturer. It took about two weeks but now the pond is clear. I have quite a big pond, 7mX3m so I’m not surprised it took a while.
The filters are pretty easy to clean and well designed.
The UV light appears to do its job.
The cables are good and long making it easy to get to a socket.
The power consumption is relatively low. My socket is showing it at 24.5Watts.
The fountain is pretty.
It has two water outlets. One for the fountain and another which you could attach onto a water feature or a hose pipe. I attached it to a hose pipe so I can have a good flow of water from opposite sides of the pond.
Negatives – the fountain extender snapped the first day of ownig it. You need to be careful lifting it out the pond, only use the handle and nothing else.
The decorative light stopped working after one week. I tried changing the bulb but to no avail. It’s a pitty as when it worked it looked nice. I don’t care enough to send it back though.
It needs two sockets for the two supplies, the pump and the uv light, this might be a pain for you. In addition it needs you to install two plugs as it comes only with bare wires (it’s the law apparently)
Overall its a good product, but not perfect, nice to have everything in one package with minimal faff.
I moved to a house just over 2 years ago that has a pond, with a pump from the same manufacturer. You couldn’t see more than a few inches beneath the surface and the pump needed cleaning almost every week at first, then every few months, and whilst the water became clearer, after 2 years, we still couldn’t see the botrotof the pond. We replaced the old pump with this one, and within a week we could see the bottom of the pond, for the first time ever. It’s a great pump/filter, I wish I’d got one soone

What can I say. I bought blagdon because I trust the blagdon brand. It has lots of filter media in it. It is very easy to lift out of my raised patio pond due to large lifting handle plus it is easy to clean. The led light looks great when the fountain is running. Another plus for me is no more leaky pipes from pump to external filter box as it is all inside the pond.
My fish have bred so the 3000 5 in 1 pump is no longer adequate for my 2500 litre pond, so I have upgraded to the 6000 5 in 1 pump. I like the product, otherwise would not have bought the same make again, but it does have some design faults.
The transformer for the uv lamp is too far away from the plug so it is difficult to disguise or house.
I have removed the light bulb to stop it shining in our bedroom window or annoying the fish during the night. It is a feature that should be switched separately, or removed in favour of a separate solar light which is what I have done.
It is best to use the largest diameter hose possible, to get enough flow to a water feature, or the pipe friction seriously reduces the flow. I am using 18mm (inside diameter) which fits straight on to the top of the pump.
I found that, in the Spring, tadpoles get tragically imbedded in the coarse filter, so I put a polymer wool filter on the top which helped.
Keeps the water clean and clear – pretty easy to clean – can adjust fountain height – comes with light- light remains on 24/7 unless you get your hand wet and cover the sensor. You need plug for filter and light- two cables come out of pump at opposite sides of unit.

We tried everything to turn our pea soup pond clear again .. we weren’t even sure we still had fish in there !!! Within 7 days we could see the bottom & our 2 new baby fish we didn’t even know we had would highly recommend no more chemicals, barley straw etc just this pump with its lovely night light & fountain – fab

After many chemical attempts to clear the pond water I invested in this. Pictures show how much green is filtered out of the pond and in one week I can now see the bottom having not been able to for years. It’s really easy to disassemble to clean and then reassemble. Great product- worth every penny!

Bought this for my brother’s pond. Easy to install if you have power handy. Came with good length of cables to connect.
This was a replacement, first one only lasted two years luckily it has three years warranty, so I will have to see how this performs.
It’s cleaned up my dirty pond so much the water is now clear and I can see my fish again I have had to clean the filters a couple times since purchasing which was nice and simple to do this, the light is bright enough to look good but not to bright to be disturbing at night there is a range of tops for this fountain feature as well so it’s nice to look a

Clear water in 4 days time. It works very well. Cleaning too is easy. I would recommend this product.
Replacement for our old In-pond pump and filter. Original went well and easy to clean etc so hopefully this will be same. Water already far clearer, had to replace original when couldn’t get the UV light housing out to replace bulb although no problems on last change.

It started to clear the pond very quickly and easy
From past experience this product is very good however as is often the case with most pond filters just as the guarantee runs out the product dies – I had no hesitation though in replacing my broken Blagdon with a new one but unfortunately I had to return it as my fish died after horrendous weather conditions

Very easy to set up, but would have been nice to have 2 UK main plugs come with it.
My pond was so green that algae was killing my fish, but within 48 hrs, this started to change. Now a couple of weeks later, the water is clear to the bottom and my fish are so much happier. Great unit, reccomend

The only issue I have had is that the LED sensor is a bit hit and miss which leads to the light intermittently flashing at night.

Awesome. For my small pond. After about a week water is now crystal clear. Easy to pull out once a week and quickly clean the top and sponges. Place back and it’s back to normal. I wasn’t expecting this to be so good. Pond was green and hard to see anything before. Now can see the bottom perfectly.

This is the second time I’ve brought this pump I’ve two ponds and it works very well I do run them through a secondary filter but you don’t need to, when you think it filters runs through an ultra violet to help control blanket weed and can be a fountain as well as I do run to second filter, they are well worth the money

LED light is bright at night and can be set to be on all day if needed.
The filter removes so much debris as I conducted a test with some organic matter.
Came with an spare filter and some treatment for the pond which was a nice bonus.

Fantastic product. Everything about it is easy, cleaning is simple, installation no problem and as it is all under water the surrounding area looks tidy. After years of pond keeping I wish I found this ages ago
Bought as an emergency replacement for the previous blagdon pump that’s stopped working. After lockdown has finished I’m going to return it to the shop to see why it’s stopped working! Despite the technical hitch, I still feel it’s a great product.
I love this filter. Made my pond crystal in just a few days. It’s only been installed perhaps three weeks, and I can see every stone clearly at the bottom of my 6′ x 6′, 2 1/2′ deep pond. It was simple to put together, and appears to be easily cleaned, compared to my fish tank filters. The light illuminates my full pond and there’s not much electricity used either which is always a bonus. As powerful as I need it to be. Only your imagination will limit in what you can achieve with the outlet flow, or just have it on fountain mode. Not my thing, I like waterfalls and so do my fish.
I’ll be definitely buying another for my waterfall/river into nature pond.
