I bought a “Blue Yeti” four years ago to try and do voiceovers on instructional videos, but it’s so fussy to set up, and my voice sounds more natural when I record a voicemail greeting on my cheap phone. The Yeti had set me back 120. So I watched a load of YouTube videos on how to get the best out of it, and I bought it an anti-vibration stand, and a muff, but all to no avail.
I saw a “Blue Snowball” on a YouTube video, and the recording sounded good so I looked it up on Amazon, and at the 49 offer price I gave into temptation and ordered one.
Unpacked it, screwed on the supplied desk stand, plugged it into a spare USB socket on my PC, and read out a script using nothing better than Windows voice recorder. And, you know, I sounded much better! I notice that now “Blue” is a Logitech brand, and maybe that’s why it’s better? Whatever it is, I’m happy with it.
This is a great piece of kit for the price, simple set up and easy to use.
The microphone is easy to install and offers rather good sound quality; my little complaint here is about one side of the USB plug that does not seem so firm and might have built with a bit more precision or depth of insertion.

Great mic for gamers and content creators. The sound quality is good and is durable. Would 100% recommend for any looking for a usb mic or wanting to start creating videos or just wanting to chat to mates on discord.
It’s easy to use, picks up my voice and is adjustable. It doesn’t take up too much room so it fits on my small desk without hampering my ability to play games. All round pretty solid.
I really like this mic I use it for multiplayer gaming. It is high quality and it is lasting a long time for me. My friends have it as well. Sound quality is high. Great value for the money. I highly recommend it!
If its sat on your desk and you simply tap your hand on your desk it picks up a huge low thud noise, i’d reccommend definately using it with a stand if possible the get the most out of this product.
I don’t have to wear a big headset with a microphone, as the sound comes from my TV/Monitor, and I just speak. I would buy one again if this packs in. A good product in my opinion. I also bought the little attachment filter, but I don’t know whether that helps as I’ve just not had a problem with it.

I bought this product back in 2014 when I imagined that I might become a YouTuber one day. I’m no longer quite so disillusioned, but I am still the owner of this incredible mic which I have used daily since its purchase.
Great audio quality (from people I’ve been in calls with). Super durable – all the ‘bits’ are still together and the cable is still going strong. I’ve replaced mice, keyboards, mousemats, chairs, desks, headsets, and even my entire computer and yet this mic has stuck around the entire time.
Greta product. Great value. If it finally does die, I’ll no doubt pick up the latest iteration of this mic.

I recently broke my gaming headset and instead of buying another wireless one like the ASTRO a50s I decided to invest in a quality pair of headphones and a standing microphone. The microphone quality far surpasses any gaming headset I’ve used in the past, and I’ve used several ranging from Arctis to HyperX. The price for performance is amazing when it’s on sale and it is definitely worth investing in, especially if it’s under 40
Sound quality only loses a star as investing into a pop filter is more than likely necessary as it can pick up a lot of background noise – make sure that if you do invest in one that you make sure you configure it properly so that it can only pick up your voice – gaming socials like discord have options for this in their echo cancellation settings.
I tried all the zoom and laptop settings snd nothing worked.
I decided to buy this microphone and the results have been fantastic no more feedback and great clarity.
I wanted a better mic to play D&D online as my audio quality has mostly been poor in comparison to the rest of the party. Looking back on the recordings I don’t think the snowball loses out in terms of quality to other mics around the table such as the yeti.
It misses a mute button but that is my biggest bugbear.
This mic is perfect for having on a boom arm for gaming, picks sound up perfectly and sounds good on the other end as well

A friend recommended this to me and I’m so glad I bought this. It’s really good for what I need. I used it for my Viva Voce exam and it was a life saver.
I bought this to use for Discord and streaming, it sounds a lot better than my old mic and when I hear my voice in playback it sounds a lot more like me in my ears which is a plus.
I like the design and the stand is great.
This mic has a very crisp quality. Its a pretty decent microphone for recording. The only thing is, its very quiet.
You have to have the mic as close to your face as you can, so I would highly reccomend getting a mic arm if you want to get this. Decent quality build, especially for its price.
Bought it to record a song for a small film project. I am surprised by the quality of the microphone. It records sounds clearly. Now I will use it for streaming.
For a USB microphone condenser it is a great deal to get this item. It integrates very fast without any hassles of downloading any softwares on computer. Plug and play – simple.
I have tested it for podcasts and it has performed in a very great manner.
For recording songs, I would not recommend it as even in a studio there will be a lot of treble around for some reason even with a pop filter on.
For the price of course it’s a king. And specially for gamers, this mic is just dope.

It felt like its on the quiet side but it sounds like a very professional studio mic for what it’s worth.
Perfect for people just starting out with a setup. A massive improvement from a headset microphone. Good sound quality for the price if you can get it cheaper than retail, but 75 wouldn’t be worth it usually. It’s good for light streaming and just general playing games and speaking in calls, wouldn’t use it for much past that, especially in the range of recording music and voiceovers etc. but still a great starting point. Only reason i’ve given 4* is because the original stand is terrible, and I’d recommend buying a cheap arm for 10 ish
Brilliant USB microphone with ultra user friendly input and set up guide. Sounds very clear and smooth with good clarity a crispness. Perfect for my Twitch sessions and video calls. Cannot fault it!

Its quite bulky if you don’t have a big desktop. I have to place it on the keyboard shelf.
And I keep it boxed up in cupboard.
But sound is really good, especially if your on Zoom calls.
I thought it was a tad pricey, but compared to some others, this is worth it and cheaper than most good mics.

Absolutely grate for beginners but would recommend buying a pop filter for it as the microphone is quite sensitive but it is a grate mic
Perfect. Never had an issue with this mic. It is abit of a hassle to use if you don’t have a desk/table format (the mic will be too low down if you’re just on your bed and your laptop) but people can still hear you crystal clear so it’s all fine.
This microphone is great, the value for money is incredible. The snowball itself is actually much larger than I expected, so if you are thinking it is perfect for you because of how small it is, you might want to look up the dimensions of the product. The ‘snowball only’ option does still come with a tripod that works great, so don’t be put off thinking that they are just sending you the ball and nothing else.
I had used integrated mics on my headset, phone and laptop until I got this mic. This mic is leagues above those other mics. For someone with no real mic experience it’s hard to imagine my voice being any clearer.
I use a pop filter and a mic stand so I can get it near my face without having it take up precious desk space.
The only feature that I feel it is missing is a power switch. If you want to turn it off you have to physically unplug it.
I had to replace a Samson mic which I’d used for a few years. Sadly it had been knocked over and bounced off the floor once too often. The Snowball is a worthy replacement. I’ve tested it on a few recording apps and well pleased with the quality of the mic, the solid build and its a cool retro look.
It works great but there is no software to change the settings for it for example if you use it for live or stream you need some other software to install which is complicated and not licensed from blue and that’s so bad over all good mic for the price
This round microphone (about the size of a grapefruit) is neat & well made, and comes with USB lead around 6ft long (around 1.5 metres) Plugging it into a USB port on your PC in Windows 10 installs software drivers and is recognised in Device settings on your PC. Recording sound quality is good and clear, though on my PC the volume level is fairly low, so the recording level in Sound settings has to be set to maximum if you then have it placed around 1ft from voice source. My only other comment would be that whilst the miniature tripod stand is useful its a shame you can’t adjust the angle the microphone faces – its fixed at straight ahead. It does work with Logitec Logi video software and shows in Microphone options and also in Zoom software. The apparent low output via USB in Windows 10 can be solved by installing free software “Equalizer APO and the associated software Peace GUI” which then allows change of level from microphone.

Recommended to me buy an ICT knowledgeable person and I am not disappointed. So easy to plug into a USB port and off it goes. Sits atop a small tripod; is stable, decent size and picks up human voice well. The only thing I don’t like is that the tripod is not height adjustable. It cost more that I had originally intended to spend but I think it was a good purchase (you get what you pay for).
