This is a great router to work with. Small and light, easy to hold and control. Great for edging work and other smaller jobs. My old 240v 1/4 inch router hardly gets used now! Don’t expect it to do the work of a 1/2 inch router and you’ll be delighted.
I already have other tools from the range so the bare unit is good value for money.
I pondered for some time about getting this portable router/edge trimmer.
When one appeared on the used list, I took the plunge, and I am glad I did. I have a 10.8V Boch cordless drill, but I was not sure if the trimmer is 12V, so I was not sure if it would work on my existing batteries. It does, but the run time is quite short and may be an issue depending on what you are planning to use it for.
I also purchased a 12V 3 Amp/hour battery just in case and for information, a 10.8V charger will charge a 12V battery.
The benefit of this trimmer is that with some thought it is easy to extend its uses from just bearing or pin guided edge trimming to hinge in setting. It is light easy to control and has sufficient power to make useful cuts. Best of all it is much safer to use for small tasks than a mains powered unit which is heavier and can jump and tug if not safely supported.
A good purchase.
Simple router that’s excellent for basic tasks when you’re on the go. Doesn’t have the power or features to be the only router on site but excellent for the every day.
Had a bit of trouble after the first delivery went “missing” but amazon were very quick to rectify and sent a next day delivery.
Ever tried trimming with a full sized router? Using this little thing was amazing. Made it 10 times easier. So much so I am now going around trimming everything I can see. Perfect case of the right tool for the right job.
Great little trim router but for the price it would have been nice if they had thrown in an 8mm collet instead of charging approx. 25 for it as an extra- which is grossly overpriced. BTW the Bosch Part No. for the 8mm collet is 2 608 570 134– it states for GKF600 but also fits this router GKF 12 V-8- I bought one and can confirm that it is a perfect fit!
Well made and easy to use with this machine and a small router the possibility are endless what can be accomplished Bosch are coming up the ranks for built quality and innovation if you add a 6amp battery you’ll get a full days work without having to change it up

This is great small powerful tool. Great for small jobs but a bit pricy
Just made some birch plywood shelves and the round edges were perfect and it’s so quick and easy to manoeuvre. I think that it’s really an edge router tool only as no plunge ability.

Although pricey, especially when you factor in the additional purchases of a battery and charger, this is a great tool for light routing. Simple to adjust and great ergonomic design makes it very easy to use

Excellent trim router, would get 5 stars if it would take a guide Bush. Really benefits from the larger capacity 4/6AH batteries which give it much more torque

It does look odd, and the shape of the grip seems to confuse people initially, but when you get your head round it, it’s a comfortable design to use. The asymmetric layout gives you a really stable platform to guide the machine along a surface without the risk of tipping over the edge and digging in, which I always found to be an irritating risk when rounding over with a heavier conventional router.
Quality of life factors are strong with this design, it’s so small and easy to use, and really lowers the bar for what’s worth putting small finishing touches on. It is also remarkably quiet for a router.
Because it is so hassle free to use, I find myself grabbing it to finish an edge nicely even where it’s not strictly necessary, and is something I definitely wouldn’t have bothered dragging the big router out for.
The quick and precise depth adjustment is really well implemented, although a graduated scale would have been a useful addition. I ended up adding a paint mark to one of the grooves on the fine adjust wheel to help keep track of the rotation.
The design of the spindle lock is great, and really ought to be standard on all routers (and any other tool with a spindle lock!), It is so convenient that it latches and you no longer have to hold a fiddly little button in while you’re wrestling with a spanner!
It doesn’t rotate as fast as a mains router, but for trimming and rounding over, it’s got plenty of power. It manages 6mm (1/4″) and even 12mm (1/2″) grooves in ply and softwood fine as long as you’re realistic and don’t get greedy with cut depths and feed rates. I’ve not tried hardwood yet.
There are a few interesting designs for 3D printed accessories on thingiverse and other design sharing sites, which gives you the option to add accessories such as a fence, circle cutting fixture, dust extraction, etc that Bosch don’t offer directly. There are even a couple of designs for router tables, which could be quite handy for some users.
This is a really good tool, that has been on the receiving end of some nice engineering from Bosch.

Nice bit of kit, comfortable in your hand light and very manoeuvrable. Would recommend if you want a light cordless router.
I have been toying whether to buy one of these for a while but i am glad i did.
A great 12v power tool which is so easy to use. I was amazed how quick and clean it cuts through the timber.
es facile d utilisation
maniable lgre et impeccable pour chanfreiner les bords de panneaux
12 v suffisant pour ce travail
Absolutely fantastic piece of kit! Ideal for trimming and round over edges.
Excellent router to trim the edges
Lasting long enough with 3 ah batteries
Only when you’re buying it pay attention to base ! In some reason some of them has a bent base from factory. This is my second one.
First one come with base like banana straight from packing box.

Chamfering only for this tool. Does it brilliantly so worth the spend.
This is a delightful piece of kit. Very easy to use, fits the hand like a glove.
I have a lot of these Bosch 12v tools now and this one does not disappoint.
Things I like:
It’s very quiet, vibration free and well balanced, easy to get good smooth cuts.
The spindle lock is a pull out catch rather than one of those buttons you have to hold down, much simpler and easier to use.
It’s powerful, with a decent cutter it will go through oak easily.
Lack of any attachment point for a fence is not really a problem, for edge trimming or shaping use a guided cutter, for straight cuts clamp a guide piece to your work and it’s fine.
The cutter height adjuster is ingenious, the fact that they’ve managed to fit a fine adjustment onto something this compact is brilliant.
There is indeed only a 6.3mm collet supplied, not an issue for me but if you have 8mm cutters you would probably need to source a different collet.
So, the tool is great but there are some things I’m not so keen on.
The power switch is not well placed for left handers, it would be better on the front of the handle.
The bare tool, carton version DOES NOT come with the L-BOXX insert, and there is no way of buying it separately. Come on Bosch, I bought the bare tool because I already have plenty of spare batteries and space in another Boxx, all my other bare tools came with an insert but this one no – you don’t even list the part number, now I have to muck about with that stupid foam block to keep this tool from rattling about in storage. Pretty poor marketing I think.
Tbh, I wasn’t expecting much from this little guy. But I thought I’d give it a go just in case. Well, I already had two 2.0amp hour batteries but I bought a couple of 3.0s as well. Glad I did as they really add to the experience. I am restoring some very old timber frame windows, installing double glazing units. I need a rebate of 14mm and this router can handle the entire 14mm in one slow pass in douglas fir, better of course with two or more slower passes, granted. So, I’d say this router is going to feature heavily in my day to day work life. Very happy. do not hesitate to pick one up.

Love this palm router so happy I bought this with being a 12v it’s still impressive running time
One of those tools that you can’t really justify the expense because you only have a specific job to do. However, once you have got it, you are always using it for odd jobs. Also, it improves the finish quality of your work. Easy to handle and creating a great finish, this is a great tool to have.
Nearly 50% off during BF convinced my and it was the good move.
This router is so easy to use, light, comfortable, versatile. Have a couple of other Bosch 12V compatible tools so it made sense to go with it too.

Handy but used to put fire strips into fire doors, did jump out now and again.
Really needs a detachable fence. Overall good.
Exactly what it says on the tin! Brilliant little route
Excellent, thought long and hard if I would use it.
Took the plunge and wow I can’t put it down, well only to drink my tea whilst charging the battery.

This however is smaller and cordless. Being smaller, it’s not scary. Being cordless means I’m not going to get the cord caught and flip the router into my face or groin. Big upside to this investment – groin safety.
After buying this I actually use a router now in my work. This is good.
Also, I think the Bosch 12v is a good system to invest it. Everything I cordless I owned was dewalt and it was just getting too expensive. Bosch 12v still isn’t cheap but I think it’s the right balance of quality/tool variety and price.
Reccomend!

Love this bit of kit. So handy both in and away from workshop
I bought this noting how good it will work being a battery Power Tool. but work great Iv only use it One time so fa
These 12 V tools are very good I’m so used to using the 18 V but this small router I can do jobs with one hand very comfortable.
A wonderful tool. Fits into the hand perfectly with the weight of your hand going over the bit allowing perfect control. Arrived a day earlier than expected wrapped well.
I would recommend this tool to anybody.
What I didn’t anticipate was all of the other uses I’d find for it once I bought it. Seriously, this thing is the business for those tricky little cuts that you’d generally have to fight with a saw or some other tool to make. I’ve used it for everything from trunking cuts to profiling architrave and cutting cable relief into the back of skirting boards – I actually find myself really thinking about whether I absolutely must power up the router to do a job or can this little guy do it instead. Naturally it’s not up to super heavy, or very long, cuts; but for anything that’s either light or reasonably short, it’s a little demon.
I also have the 12V driver (which I absolutely love too), so I had the batteries and the charger already and this really was a great value addition to the tool bench.
If you do any amount of DIY fitting just go ahead and get this – it makes everything easier!

Arrived on time exactly as advertised Excellent tool did exactly as I needed it fo
The one gripe I do have though is that its states the collet takes up to 8mm shanks, this was not the case for me. I have had to buy a whole new set of router bits in 1/4″ (6.3mm) to use it! My 8mm Dewalt bits didn’t come close to fitting and are now redundant.

8mm and 6mm and 6.3mm drills can be used.
I would do the purchase again
arrives without batteries and without battery charger
arrives without the boxx
