Its light, easy to use, picks everything up, does the whole house, the batteries interchange with garden tools / drill etc – really pleased with the purchase
i have this for a year now and works great nothing broken every thing is fine battery still last as when it was new
It was really good product and we were very happy using it, BUT after 15 months it has broke and it’s not possible to use it You can buy a spare part for only 40.
It was delivered with two batteries but after a year one of them is working for 5 minutes , and it is charging only for up to 15 minutes and that’s it
the second one is a little bit better and it will work for 10-15 minutes but it is noticeable shorter then it was when they were newand to make it clear batteries are stored separately (not in the vacuum) and are removed from chargers ASAP once charged
That’s not what I was expecting from Bosch product .
Needed a new vacuum after my Dyson gave up working after many years have been told about this product so far I love everything about i
Great battery life and has two! Can do a whole 2500 soft house in one charge of one battery.
Very quiet but still cleans as well as our old dyson.
Light and parts clip and unclip well. Easiest to empty over ever had.
Had a Dyson for several years, the Bosch is a superior machine. Not cheap, but worth it.
BOSCH never lets you down. This vacuum has a brilliant suction capability and has a long batter life. It actually comes with two rechargeable batteries. The only downfall is that it is a bit on the heavy side but that’s worth it for the power.
Easy to use and having two batteries makes it even better.
Very good cordless hoover. I haven’t had to use the turbo and I have a very hairy cat! The battery life is good and the fact that you also have a spare means you’re uninterrupted in your chores. I have had other handheld hoovers and would definitely recommend. However, I got it on special and don’t know if I would pay full price.
I love this. I originally got it to deal with kitchen crumbs and cat litter trailed around the house but find that I rarely use my normal corded vacuum any more. It’s not featherlight but it’s quite well balanced and light enough for me to use it comfortably for a full house clean. The normal suction level is fine, it doesn’t cope too well with pet hair on carpeted surfaces, (very few vacuums do), but it gets most stuff up. I don’t find I need to use turbo much, lucky as it uses the battery up much quicker. I have it on a wall charger and can usually do the house without needing to use the second battery (alot of tiled floors, would probably need the second battery if all carpet). Agree with other reviews that the dust cannister is small and emptying it is fiddly but I can live with that for the convenience it brings. I’d recommend trying both batteries a few times once you get it to make sure they’re holding their charge properly. If you cant get 45 minutes out of each battery vacuuming on normal suction then you’ve probably got a duff battery and should get it changed. On turbo, it’s unlikely you’ll get more than 10 minutes (I think the details say 7).
Having tried a friend’s Dyson out, there are two design features which made me choose the Bosch instead.
– The power switch on the Dyson does not click in, so you have to keep your thumb pressed the entire time, on the Bosch you click it once for on and again for off. This is a small thing but using the Dyson it was very irritating having to keep your thumb pressed down all the time.
– The removable battery, when the Dyson runs flat you have to stop and go and put it back on charge. When this runs flat, you can switch the battery over and carry on, the fast charger is great. I don’t agree with other reviews that the fast charger is loud, it’s got a small fan in it, but it’s not loud, and it turns off when charged, which doesn’t take very long.
Most comparrison websites online will usually say that the Dyson equivalent is more powerful, and I agree, but when this is used in turbo mode, it’s plenty powerful enough. Also the primary attachment works really without turbo mode.
Other plus points for me:
– Picks up dog hair really well
– Nice shape to hold
– Charges quickly
– The wall mount charger and holder is well designed for holding the various accessories
It’s worth mentioning that the fast charger is an optional extra, and you can charge it without using the fast charger.
Negatives
– The unit doesn’t sit well while you’re emptying it, a small thing but it’s poorly designed in that regard
– The two smaller attachments (the brush and the long nose) are both pretty useless
– The “interchangable between other Bosch products” battery might be a good idea, but it’s not the same as the Bosch professional power tool batteries, so you’re stuck buying the naff green Bosch toy town power tools to get compatibility.
The cleaner itself was super, however,I didn’t have sufficient strength enough in my thumb to release the dust container…I am not young and I guess someone younger would not find this a problem. One if the attachments was rather flimsy which annoyed me! However please don’t be put off buying one.
Excellent & versatile vacuum – does the job of replacing a full mains vacuum very well
Loved the fact that it has 2 batteries. I have a few dogs and can use it on turbo without worrying about running out of battery. Picks up everything thrown at it so far and believe me with 9 long haired dogs that can be a lot of outside after a walk,
I bought the cordless vacuum because I’ve just broken 4 ribs and have a partially collapse lung. I can use this machine very easily in my left hand: am right handed.
Well worth the investme
Very pleased with the Bosch as each battery lasts long enough to do the whole house. Our old Dyson 6 wold only manage half !!!
Two batteries.
Switch stays on without having to hold Constantly.
Overall very happy.
It’s so versatile, grandkids came over yesterday, usually when they leave I have to get big vac out to clear up crumbs etc, yesterday I used my handheld Bosch and it was fantastic.
It is really easy to use and great suction power. each battery lasts more than 10 mins. really love it, highly recommended!
This is a great little cordless vacuum cleaner. I found it much easier to use than its predecessor corded upright – smaller size means it gets between chair legs, and its weight and lack of cable means it is much more manoeuvrable.
Battery life is also good – we have a largish house (6 beds) and have found that you can do a routine clean of most of the house with a single battery, but the second battery is always there – and the first would have recharged by the time the second had run out. Some people have commented that the battery charger is noisy – it is, but only while it is fast charging – once the battery is full the fan stops.
The crevice tool is good for real crevices, like down the side of the seats in the car, but not for edging as it is too flexible. I just use the main shaft without the carpet beater, or the upholstery tool to do that job.
Main weakness is the tiny dust compartment. I carry a bag around with me, as a typical whole-house clean will need it to be emptied two or three times – on balance this is less inconvenient than managing a cable, however.
Bosch does it again. Well built, good suction (non of these are great but this one is the best on the market) and 2 batteries so will never run out of power. Comes with large charger too.. Would recommend and buy again.
Plenty of suction power and (two) batteries give very long operating time. ( rarely need to use second battery) Delivery from Amazon was really slow delivery date kept getting put back. Cancelled order and bought same item from Curries locally which I collected following day. (Also got 100 cash back from Bosche as part of promotion. Brilliant – Buy one you will not regret it – though I don’t know if the promotion from Bosche is still going
Brilliant vacuum cleaner..better than my Dyson Animal. More powerful, easier to empty, battery lasts longer.
These cordless vacuums are a real game changer. Vacuuming will never be the same again. The weight and versitility of these vacuums means that I vacuum much more frequently, but there is fair less dust to pick up when I do. So I agree with Dyson that you don’t need 2 batteries, well at least not if you have an efficient vacuum. I’m very pleased with my Bosch. I mainly use it on the standard setting but occasionally switch to turbo mode. My house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a lounge, a reception room, a large conservatory, a kitchen, a downstairs cloakroom, a hallway, 2 landings and 2 flights of stairs. So far I’m been round it twice on a single charge, mainly using the motorised brush. We’ll see if it can make it round a third time. My biggest criticism of this Bosch is that I find it messy to empty. I may well find other things that niggle, but so far so good. Oh and it’s so quiet my cat doesn’t run for the hills when I’m vacuuming. We bought ours for under 350. That’s very pricey, but I’d rather pay that money than go back to my old vacuum.
Fabulous. Had this item 6 months and there is nothing to faul
Good suction and two batteries allow a long period of use. Fast charge is convenient. The vacuum cleaner works well overall but is reasonably heavy.
A no-fuss cordless vacuum cleaning that is very light, easy to carry around the house and surprisingly powerful. Its different heads are quick to attach and detach, allowing you to clean different areas of the home very easily. The battery is also very convenient to detach and reattach for charging and while it doesn’t last very long, it charges quickly and, with two batteries, you can swap between them quickly — just don’t forget to put the unused battery on charge (and try to ignore the very loud charging noise!).
The bag-less dust compartment fills up quickly and is a mess to dispose of, as dust gets caught in the hose – and tougher small pieces of dirt and waste sometimes fall out of the head when the trigger is released.
This excellent vacuum cleaner is a little pricey, but negatives aside, the convenient of its use takes some of the sting out of vacuuming.
Doesn’t feel as if it is powerful in use but it does pick up beautifully. It will go for an hour on one battery so having 2 is wonderful. It isn’t lightweight BUT not as heavy as a corded cleaner. Very pleased with this.
Let’s face it, you’re buying this because you want to use it where normal vacuum cleaners don’t quite reach as easily. Being cordless means you’re not tied to a plug socket and the length of the power cable.
This cordless vacuum cleaner comes in a huge box with two layers of polystyrene with every conceivable attachment you’d every need.
Nice addition is you get two batteries for your money so you can just swap them over once one has run out of power. Battery life is amazing, I basically just used the one 18-volt battery all the time with the other one left aside. After a few months I put the other battery on the charger and it was still registered at 100% charged.
I like that these 18-volt batteries can also be used with other Bosch cordless tools, and was looking to try it with my Bosch strimmer. I, however, found my strimmer was too old and the battery connector slots were a different design. But it is a good feature if you are looking forhouse &/or garden cordless tools.
I was initially concerned with the noise from the large battery charger, what I thought was buzzing turned out to be a fan running to keep all the components cool. When the battery reaches full, the fan turns off, which is a clever bit of tech. I tend to have the charger plugged in the living room, that way I’m not bothered by the noise, but you are going to have to find somewhere to store the charger.
The AllFloor Brush is a good size and it’s easy to remove all bits of hair / string from the rotating brush. In fact all the extra pieces are well made and useful.
I found to get the Bosch to clean quickly it needs the turbo mode switched on, otherwise you’re just moving dust and bits around on the floor. It’s good for a quick daily clean, but is it powerful enough to do a full house? My house has no carpets on the ground floor so it was easy to go around. there’s a double filter so any pet hair or dander isn’t going to be blown back in your face.
Negatives? You need turbo boost on to do a decent bit of cleaning and that does reduce battery running time. The cleaner won’t stand upright by itself, so you can’t just lean it up in a cupboard. They do give you a ‘docking station’ that you attach to the wall and hang the cleaner off it (you can also attach the other peripheral parts to this as well), but it’s a bit of faff and you have to take the battery off to charge it.I found the weight of the vacuum, with the extendable nozzle too heavy to comfortably use it to remove dust and cobwebs from high shelves or corners of a room. I had to use both hands to hold it steady. The dust container is 0.4l and so there’s not a lot of room and if you’re not on top of your cleaning, it’s probably going to need to be emptied a couple of times per use and you’re going to want to empty it outside otherwise you’re going to get more dust everywhere. Took me ages to figure out how to open it (of course I could have simply read the comprehensive instructions, of course), but like all Bosch products it is simply done.
There’s a lot here for your money (and the price has dropped quite a bit since launch to make it more affordable), but I don’t think it will replace my normal vacuum cleaner, however i can say this is the best cordless vacuum cleaner I have used.
I had been considering a cordless cleaner for some time and did not know that Bosch made them. I have only had the cleaner a matter of weeks and genuinely wish I had bought one sooner. The Bosch is easy to use and I find the suction good on the lowest setting and only use the turbo when really needed. This model came with a second battery pack so I don’t need to stop a job and wait for the battery to charge. It’s only draw back is that you need to regularly empty it but that takes only a minute. I would highly recommend this.
Really impressed with this vacuum.
-The battery lasts a long time (I get a about 40m of mixed normal/turbo).
-I am not sure if suction is phenomenal or the brushes do the work, but the end result is you go over things once.
-It steers amazingly. I can’t put my finger on it, but I think it is able to take 90degree turns so you vacuum without ever having to lift it.
-it’s easy to empty, and the filter contraption captures a surprising amount of really fine particles.
On the downsides now
-the charger has no wall mount, so you end up having the charger in a different place than the vaccum.
-the small brush bit is a 2 in 1 thing of terrible quality. The smaller amount of pressure makes tue brush rectract making it unusable, which is really embarrassing at this price range. I personally glued mine so it is now forever stuck on the brush “on” position, which means I now dont have a couch bit.
That been said I’d still recommend this, but truth be told I got it at an offer, not sure if I would go for it for its normal price.
Great vacuum cleaner. Good suction. Got 150 off recommended price on Amazon.
Very good, would like a bit more power as the turbo uses the battery quickly., but still useful for a quick clean!
Light weight and performs well. Seems to have all the power one needs and very simple to operate. It is also relatively quiet to operate.
Very good value for money, good suction, interchangeable batteries, light weight. Only small downside is clearing the container, they could do a better design.
Other than that really recommend it!!!
Two batteries, they last longer than a similar make that only has one battery. When exhausted the battery charges up very quickly. Does the job well for less money than other makes.
Lightweight to use. Useful tools but suffers from power in suction even on boost. Limited storage so used mostly for small jobs. Well made though, and useful with two batteries.
Great vacuum, updated from old cleaner and very satisfied especially with a second battery when needed.
After having two Dyson vacuum cleaners that performed well but didn’t last long, I decided to take a chance on this Bosch Unlimited cleaner. I have quite a few Bosch products and they have always performed and lasted well.
– The price may seem quite high, but for the Dyson equivalent (V10) you’ll pay around 100 more
– The run time is far longer than other handheld cordless cleaners.
– Removable battery means no waiting for charges between cleaning jobs.
– 2 Batteries included, so again no waiting for charge.
– Wall mounted storage unit keeps everything neat and tidy.
– Al accessories work well, fit well and are easy to change.
– The flexible crevice tool is a very useful accessory. Especially good for getting under the washing machine or fridge.
– The power ‘trigger’ stays on when depressed, rather than having to hold it in continuously.
– Some users have listed the noise of the battery charger fan to be a negative. However, the fan does help to keep the charger cool and when the battery is fully charged the charger switches off, so the fan stops, letting you know that the battery is ready for use. I have found that the noise is not too loud and haven’t been bothered by it at all, I actually find it very useful for indicating the battery status.
– I can clean my entire house (3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, stairs, landing, skirting boards, & upholstery) on one (new) battery. Time will tell how it performs as the batteries get older, but I have many Bosch products and tools and have found that the batteries last exceptionally well.
– It has a ‘ratchet’ type filter cleaner, a few turns before emptying will knock the dust from the filter.
– The dust capacity is slightly lower than other models, but it is very easy to empty. The container clips off easily and I can empty it into my kitchen bin with no mess.
– The turbo button is very useful and certainly adds more power for certain jobs, but I have found the vacuum cleaner to be very good in standard setting so the turbo mode is not vital for everyday cleaning.
– All in all I am very happy with this cleaner. It is lightweight, easy to store, convenient and powerful.
very pleased with this product . good suction power, just a little bit on the weighty side
Excellent quality, removable and second battery with separate charger made all the difference
Ive tried various cordless vacs but always been frunstrated with the short run time and long charge time. The removable swappable batteries on this model deal with that problem perfectly, but sadly in my opinion no cordless vac can give the performance of a traditional corded one. They just dont have the suction of a decent corded vac, such as the Miele. However, this one is simple to assemble, easy to use, and makes an admirable addition to my vacuum arsenal. It does a great jobon carpets and judging by the amount of dust and bits in the container, is picking u p well. But for me the filthy job of emptying the thing sends me back to bags. When someone invents a bagged cordless vac I’ll be right there.
The two batteries thing is genius as it means double the run time and so far I havent picked up a dead vac and got annoyed.
I was so excited at the thought of what I could do with this cleaner. No more finding a plug or running long cables across rooms. Even the car seats and carpet could be dealt with easily, so that’s reduced the visits to the valeters.
Major benefits include a 2nd battery, so one in use and one on charge. It;s lightweight at just 3.5kgs (around 2 bags of sugar in weight) and is wall mountable, ideally just above a plug socket out of the way in a store room.
The capacity is it’s only letdown at just 400ml, enough to cover the house once.
It’s guarantee is good along with the option to extend which is a great idea being fairly high end on cost.
Basic accessories are included and whilst on charge there is a little buzzing, nothing too
intrusive though.
So to summarise, a lightweight yet powerful cleaner with a good range of accessories, wall mountable with 2 batteries and a robust design. A super little cleaner well ahead of it’s time.
Well worth buying.
This cordless vacuum by Bosch is obviously gunning for another famous vacuum range that has a very similar looking product. On unpacking it immediately scores one over on them by having two batteries as standard, so you can always charge one while using the other and swap over.
The rest of the box contents came in the form of the vacuum itself and all the attachments, plus several large instruction booklets that proved to have very little in the way of instructions but certainly enough to get everything set up.
Once up and running, the pole and attachments click nicely in to place fairly easily. The device is a little heavier than expected but still fine for short tasks. The problem came with some of the longer jobs, where our lounge was concerned, mostly. Cleaning between the sofa with the thin bendy attachment was great but while the batteries held out, we’d finished half the room and the dust compartment was already full, so that needed cleaning out before continuing. I think this is a general issue for these smaller, thinner vacuums in general but I’d like to see a bigger dust collection tub in them, especially for this price.
Generally, this has a good pick up and there’s even a Turbo mode which was noisy but did amazingly well at the harder to pick up dirt without taking too much of a hit on the battery.
In general we’re pretty happy with the Bosch, especially as it comes with 2 batteries which, admittedly, bumps the price up a bit. It picked up dirt far better than any cordless vacuum we’d previously used and is flexible enough to use in the car or as a main hoover for the house.
Although I haven’t had any problems with this particular model I have read the other reviews where people have been having problems with the charger, so that is worth bearing in mind if you’re planning on buying this model.
As seems to be standard for this size of cordless vacuum a fully charged battery gave me about 25 minutes use when the vacuum was being used normally, making the second battery that comes with the vacuum very useful. Battery charging is fairly quick, by the standards of such things, and it’s easy enough to swap over batteries.
The vacuum itself is light and manoeuvrable, and does a decent job of picking up. So far I haven’t needed to use the boost function. It’s never going to win any awards for beauty, but with the motor, etc, packed into the handle it is very easy to detach the floor accessory and attach another accessory to vacuum shelves, get cobwebs out of corners, etc.
All in all I’d say this is a solid vacuum that does the job, and I’m happy with it.
This vacuum is made by Bosch a company which is synonymous with quality engineering and longevity. This is yet another product that meets that expectation exactly.
This vacuum is portable and is actually switched on rather than only on when button pushed. In other words once on its on, until it is switched off.
It comes supplied with a docking station which will mount it onto a wall somewhere, I have put mine in the utility room where it is safe from the children and always to hand. Two rechargeable batteries are also supplied which is an excellent idea.
They take approximately one hour to charge and retain enough working power to do all the vacuuming this unit was designed for. It will not give a mega deep clean of carpets but will retrieve a depressingly impressive amount of detritus from the stairs carpet. This vacuum made this particular cleaning chore very easy, it was light enough to handle on the stairs and was worlds apart in experience usually suffered using a conventional vacuum.
The car also benefited from being cleaned within an inch of its life, the crevice tool provided proved its worth, again an impressive amount of dirt was dispensed into the clear plastic refuse container on the vacuum. Very easy to empty, click back into position and good to go.
Very good unit, many pluses including the two batteries, the attachments provided and added to that the high build quality.
Adequate suction with powered brush head at normal power and very quiet compared with other cordless stick cleaners. A quick burst of turbo if there is a difficult area is all that is needed.
Two batteries and very fast charging. Charger is not at all noisy. It does have a fan so you can hear it cooling the battery and charger but that’s a plus.
Flexible crevice tool fantastic for reaching areas that would be difficult with a rigid tool.
Overall, a well designed and efficient machine.
This is a neat and sophisticated tool, though not cheap.
Its very easy to set up, and more importantly to use. Very light and manoeuvrable, simple in design but very effective.
I did however find the turbo button needed to be on to get the sense of decent suction, either with the main head or the two interchangeable tools.
The crevice tool is really good, being longer than normal and flexible. This would be especially useful for example for accessing down the side of car seats.
That said, the crevice tool is quite narrow, so there is a limit to what it will pick up before it blocks.
I don’t see this as a main vacuum in normal size house, I don’t think its quite powerful enough, but an excellent top end second vacuum, for quick run rounds and cars etc.
High quality, well built cordless vacuum. Lightweight, powerful and versatile. The two battery deal means you never have to run out of power and you can clean the car, the shed, those steep stairs…anywhere! Yes, the container is small, but that’s standard.
Excellent bit of kit with Bosch quality.
Only one downside…the price! Really expensive, really good. If you are wealthy, add a star!
A simple, powerful, cordless vacuum that’s ideal for all around the house or for the car/caravan. Comes with a variety of accessories plus two batteries and a battery charger. It’s easy to swap the accessories and batteries around. They fit so well with a simple ‘click’ but; the battery charger is large and loud. Use as a handheld or swap around the two poles, metal and rubber, or add the vacuum head for a real deep clean. There’s no need to fiddle around with the settings on this vacuum. There’s only a simple on/off switch on the handle along with a ‘turbo’ option. Turbo power is incredibly strong and powerful particularly on laminate flooring. Not the lightest vacuum cleaner I’ve used but it’s so good there’s no need for pressure and it easily glides along most surfaces including my tiled kitchen floor. Nicely presented in a large cardboard box with full instructions and guarantee. I think this is possibly the best vacuum cleaner I’ve used. Impressed.
I have tried a couple of this type of hoover with other manufacturers, they are great idea in basic terms as they are completely portable once charged and so allow for you to use in the house or outside (in the car for example), they have long telescopic hoses to allow you to reach high areas which can be tricky with heavier machines which are not so portable. Now for how this one compares, the first thing I felt was that the handset is very solid and sturdy in my hand and frankly quite weighty! There is a good feel to it, its tactile and comfortable to hold, the on switch is easy to use and you don’t need to keep your finger on the switch for it to stay on, once its on it stays on until you click it off….this is excellent as other manufactures can be fiddly and you have to keep your finger on the switch or machines turn off….so thats a great point about this machine. Also there are a few attachments, one is a bendy hose (still pretty solid but has some give in it) this is great for high places or curtains! There is the larger normal floor cleaning head, and a small brush fitment. All have their individual uses and I can say they’ve covered, in my opinion, pretty much every use required. As for the performance, well you have a regular mode which is pretty good and then a turbo button which nearly sucked the life out of my thick woollen rug.! Yes, its good and you can see that the floor has been hoovered. I wouldn’t say this could completely replace a regular hoover though, its good but its not going to deep clean. Its great for running over an area quickly, for instance I put the christmas tree up (artificial so no needles) and there was a bit of debris on the carpet and I grabbed this handy item to clear it up and it did a great job! Its nice, it looks great and I think its done better than other manufacturers versions in my opinion on testing them. The bit I love the best is that you get a battery charger and 2 batteries for charging which slot in the base of this machine, the best bit is that these are the same batteries used in other bosch power tools so you can switch about. The batteries alone come to just under 100 each then add on a charger and I think this whilst being an expensive hoover is more than meets the eye…..you are getting a quality piece of kit and you can use these chargers on your drill or other power tool too. For me its a YES!!! Recommended.
Here’s a competitor for the widely advertised cordless vacuum cleaners made by a firm founded by a well-known inventor and entrepreneur. Bosch is a well-respected manufacturer of power tools and domestic appliances. How does their take on the high-end cordless vacuum stack up?
– It’s very well made of high-quality materials and feels solid and sturdy in the hand, like a genuine premium product. Everything clicks nicely into place and the controls operate smoothly.
– But it’s also quite bulky and too heavy for my wife to use comfortably. This is a common problem with cordless vacuums that mount the motor up by the handle. In use you’re holding up the motor, the battery and the dust container rather than have them resting at the bottom end of the vacuum where their weight is supported by the floor.
– It has a too-small dust container that’s mostly occupied by the dust filters. You’ll probably need to empty it more than once during a typical cleaning run.
– The two-stage filters are very effective and easy to clean.
– The power brush head works very well, and the brush can be easily removed for cleaning. At this price point it’s surprising that Bosch don’t include a tool for removing trapped hair. The manual suggests using a pair of scissors.
– Although it has no edge brushes, the cleaner does a good job next to skirting boards. Unfortunately, there is no rubber strip around the brush head so it tends to bang against chair legs, etc. It does reach well under beds and sofas.
– You can’t turn the power brush off. Bosch have missed a trick here, as some people will want to treat their expensive wool rugs especially gently.
– Suction is good at normal cleaning power and quite enough for everyday cleaning, with low noise levels a bonus. Turbo mode is amazingly powerful (but much noisier) making this is the first battery vacuum I have used that feels as strong as a corded one.
– One fully-charged battery was enough to power the cleaning of my modest three-bedroom semi, including the stairs, using a combination of normal and turbo power. Bosch supply two batteries with the cleaner, so covering a larger house shouldn’t be a problem.
– The so-called “docking station” stores the vacuum and its accessories very neatly but it’s not a charging base, so you can’t just park the vacuum on it and expect to find it ready and charged for your next use. You’ll need to manage the battery charging yourself, but most people are used to doing this.
– The supplied battery charger is absolutely horrible. It has a built-in cooling fan that makes a nasty rasping whine which seems to penetrate everywhere throughout the house. None of my other lithium battery powered devices have this problem, so why does this one? Better design of the charger electronics and heatsinks would have made the fan unnecessary. If you can charge the batteries in a utility room or outbuilding you’ll probably be OK, but if, like many people these days, you live in a place where the kitchen is part of the house you may find this noise to be a deal-breaker.
If it hadn’t been for the racket made by the charger, the tiny dust container and the lack of a switch to turn the power brush off, I would have given this upmarket vacuum five stars. As it is, it’s still well worth considering if you’re looking for a powerful and effective cordless vacuum cleaner.
I’m not sure why there are such bad reviews of this vacuum. Personally, I have completely opposite experience. This Bosh vacuum is very handy, super easy to use and picks up an impressive amount of dust.
This is handheld, cordless vacuum cleaner but it is a bit bigger and heavier than cordless vacuums usually are. Comparing to my old one that did not have any extensions, this one is twice as heavy but also twice as powerful. I don’t agree with the reviewers saying it is not powerful, it has a “turbo” button and with this on it lifts up the carpet and PVC floor in our house. I think the trick is to have the battery charged properly before any bigger job.
The vacuum comes with a battery charger and two Bosh batteries. The same batteries that most other Bosh power tools use. The battery clips on the vacuum and can be easily removed to charge.
I noticed some other reviewers mentioned the battery charger being loud, this is because it is a powerful charger with a fan. It is not completely silent but I wouldn’t say it is really loud. I did not find it getting hot as well. The green light blinks fast when the battery is charging, it slows down when the battery is almost full and the light get steady when it is fully charged.
There are 3 ends and extension tube available that easily click on the main unit. The all-floor brush is my favourite, it glides on the floor and turns smoothly like no other vacuum I had before.
There is a long and bendy end for all kinds hard to reach corners (or spider webs). And the end for cleaning upholstery: sofas, car seats etc. The vacuum itself has a short pointy tip. I wish there was one more end similar to the one for soft furnishing but without the brush, for quick jobs when you don’t want to take out the big end. There is actually one end like this in the booklet but it does not come with this edition.
The vacuum also comes with a “stand” that need to be screwed onto the wall. There is no other way to put this it to stand if you can’t connect it to the wall. I simply remove the long extension and put it to lie down on the floor in the corner until I will have somewhere to connect it. This is probably the only disappointment. For the vacuum in this price range, I would expect it to have a choice of some kind of stand for those who can’t drill the wall for whatever reason.
When I first turned it on, it sounded pretty quiet and so I wasn’t expecting much power, but it cleaned the hall carpet pretty effortlessly – with out without the ‘turbo’ mode being on. I was surprised, and a little disgusted, at the amount if cat hair it sucked out of the carpet in less than a minute!
In terms of general build quality, this does feel well built – very German. The dust chamber comes off and reattaches easily using a guide wedge and button and the whole thing feels well designed. One handed. held at the handle, it feels a bit heavy to wield in mid air but very light when pushing on the floor – my four year old easily handled it to hoover the landing.
This comes with two batteries, so you can have one charged/charging while you are using another in the device. I also like the idea behind the replaceable, universal battery, compatible with a wide range of Bosch power tools. So, when the battery, being a consumable, no longer holds its charge you can purchase a new battery – keeping the whole device out of landfill.
