We bought this kettle as it was advertised as a ‘quiet’ kettle. It is quieter than many, but has become louder as did our previous ‘quiet boil’ kettle.

Extremely stylish, smart addition to any kitchen. Love the temperature selection options.

Fabulous & at a reasonable price.

I missed the fact on the reviews that looking at the water gauge is not easy as it’s behind the handle. But you do get used to it.
We’re pleased with the kettle except that it is very noisy. If we’d tried it out somewhere we more than like wouldn’t have bought this model.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOur old toaster broke unexpectedly, so we decided to find a replacement. My husband ordered this one, and I was a little concerned because I figured it was a little pricey for a toaster. But as soon as it came, I realised why the price was so high. It has some fantastic features. You can customise the cooking time based on the type of bread you’re toasting (normal, gluten-free, fruit bread, bagels, crumpets). There is a handy countdown feature to let you know how much time is left to toast. You can even peek at your bread while it’s still cooking without interrupting the toasting process.

Also, it looks great on my counter. Will probably look to purchase the matching kettle next.

    Expensive, but worth i

I wouldn’t ordinarily leave a review for a toaster, it either works or it doesn’t. But, I have to admit that this toaster is genuinely very good. Toasts evenly and fast. I don’t see the point in all the different type of bread settings, not sure how they would need to toast differently, lol, but the toaster is definitely worth the money. Works great and looks superb

Love this kettle, like the temperature display it stops me from reboiling the kettle 10 seconds after it has already booked. Easy to keep clean with no elements inside, it is a little heavy when full but it’s the best kettle I’ve had for pouring.

Best thing about this kettle is the ability to control water temperature particularly valuable for coffee, best at 95o.
Boils very quickly, makes a noise to let you know its ready, and importantly very stable. Quite easy to keep clean.

It’s a lovely toaster but… the plug cord is ridiculously short. The size is also a bit bulky considering the amount of space that could have been saved by reducing the gap between the slots in the middle and the outersides. But apart from these things it does the job nicely, the temperature control, leds and types of bread options are handy and sofisticated.

I didn’t know what toast was until I had toast from this machine. I know that might sound odd but seriously, something is different. It is somehow crisper and lighter and fluffier and tastier than toast I’ve had from any other machine. And the different bread settings really do make a difference. Bagels are much better… I don’t know why! Absolutely love the retro look of it too with the copper tones, looks really smart in the kitchen. Very happy with this buy and worth the extra money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’d been looking for a new toaster but most seem to have too shallow a slot for slices from full size loaves.
From reviews I thought this one was able to take larger slices than most, so paid more than I intended to for a toaster, but I’m not sure that it does.
A slice of , ‘Toastie’ cut loaf slices stick out of the top, so you end up with a 2cm strip of warm, dry, untoasted bread on the end of your otherwise perfect slice of toast.
It is really stupid, because if they’d made the slots 1cm wider the slice would fit in on its side and all toast properly.
My girlfriend really likes it or I’d have sent it back, because I can see this will be a problem with some other types of loaf and will annoy me. Although I might be able to get acceptable toast by taking the slices out and inverting them part way through toasting so that both top and bottom get done, I really shouldn’t have to.

This product comes in pretty standard retail packaging, with some plastic protective packaging that can’t be recycled.

This is a stylish 4-slice toaster, that has a nice retro look. The ergonomics are great, everything is easy to see and operate.

The slots are all big enough to take a variety of different bread products, and you have sufficient heating control to get them right 90% of the time.

The unit is essentially two 2-slice toasters, as you can set eat pair of slots to a separate settings, so you could have two different types of bread at the same time and cook them both perfectly. there is unfortunately no defrost setting, but you can obviously manually arrange something similar.

It is easy to clean and looks great when polished up to a shine.

It’s rare for me not to have complaints about a product, but the only one I can find in this case is the price, which at around 70 is a little steep for what it a relatively simple device.

If you can get this for 50 then it would be a 5-star rating, but as it is, it’s 4 stars only.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIt’s a toaster and does what it promises – i.e. it toasts bread. It’s actually a little larger than other 4 slice toasters I have had, but it does look very good. It’s also a bit more expensive than other 4 slice toasters, so if you just want something simple for your morning toast, then you can find cheaper options.

What I like about this toaster:
    – Unlike other 4 slice toasters, you can use either side of the toaster if you only want two slices. You are not forced into using one side first.
    – For me., the independent browning control is its best feature. You can have one side set to give you a lightly toast, and the other side a much darker toast. You don’t need to change it each time. You can also have one side set for white bread, and the other side for bagels or some other type of bread.

What I’m not so sure about.
    – I think the ability to choose different types of bread is maybe a bit of overkill. Unless you regularly toast different types of bread, then you are likely to just leave it set on the same setting all the time, so you get the same level of browning every time.
    – Much more useful would have been a frozen bread option, so that it would adjust the toasting time if you are using frozen bread. I presume Breville’s logic though is that you will generally either use frozen or fresh bread and are unlikely to mix it around, so you can accommodate this just by altering the browning control as required.
    – I never use the gluten free bread option so have no idea how useful that would be.

So I’m happy with the toaster and it does look good, but do wonder if I would not have been just as happy with my toast out of something half the price.

It pours nicely and is well balanced.
The only thing I would warn about is the colour round the rim, it is more on the brown side than rose especially on the toaster which is slightly darker.
All in all I was happy they look smart in my new kitchen.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersTHE best toaster we’ve found for our GF bread. It makes the most amazing toast, the slightly slower GF setting cooks it to perfection, nice crisp crust and perfectly cooked middle. No need to cook our toast twice any more to get it decently done. Tried it on stale bread too and it makes it taste fresh again. No more slight cardboard taste to old GF bread, this really is THE best toaster for Coeliac’s. Now, it would be even better if it had a higher lift function as GF bread tends to be tiny, but we can happily live with this for the best toast we’ve had since being GF!

Not only does this kettle look amazing, it really does produce the most amazing cup of tea that is the perfect temperature to drink but still lovely and hot. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe digital temperature controls are easy to operate and work well. It has a chrome base and handle but brushed steel-looking kettle which I though looked odd at first. You can swivel the kettle so the handle is to the left or right. It’s easy to fill up using the spout only and it pours perfectly. The alarm isn’t loud enough to be heard outside the kitchen. It can also alert you to when the temperature of the water is cooling (to 95/90/85/80) which can be handy if the water is too hot. It goes into standby mode (off) when the temperature drops below 80, turning off it’s lights. Mine arrived with lots of light scratches all over the kettle, but that doesn’t bother me tbh. Typical Sage/Breville quality. Highly Recommended!

This toster has a great design.Looks really nice in my kitchen. Toasts very evenly. Good feature to be able to preview without cancelling program. Initially operation can be a little confusing but that’s easily remedied by reading the instructions.

This toster has place for 4 slices of breads, and has a function for many different types of breads. It even has a function for bagels, seeds and gluten free bread. You can set how well toasted you want your bread between 1-9 . That works very well in my family where everyone likes their tosts differently done.

Breville have a good reputation so I’m hoping for good life expectancy from it. I consider it a good buy and therefore recommend !

This kettle’s main benefit for us is that it can heat water to the temperature you want in a range from 80 degrees to 100 degrees. Particularly useful if you need a temperature lower than boiling, e.g. for brewing green tea, coffee etc. The LED display then shows the current temperature in case you need to re-heat. The kettle looks very smart and pours without dripping. Just be aware that the base takes up a bit more space on the worktop than normal 360 degree units.

It’s metal and has a nice retro look. I’ve tried out several toasters and had to return all of them as this was the only one that works as it should be and isn’t just attractive in the kitchen.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI chose a Breville kettle based on the performance of their ‘cafe series’ 4-slice toaster. My only regret is that I didn’t see the kettle ‘in person’ prior to purchase. Materially it is a dog’s dinner. The kettle’s overall appearance would have benefited from being constructed in fewer finishes. In addition, more thought could have been given to making the base unit smaller. This too, would’ve improved the overall look of the appliance. One other piece of cockeyed design is the placement of the filler gauge. They placed it right opposite the handle, rendering it difficult to impossible to view when holding the kettle to fill it. However, on the plus side, I can’t complain too much as it boils reasonably quickly and quietly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOverall I really like this kettle it’s very easy to use the functionality is very straightforward, it’s all touch with 5 settings, the countdown is a pretty nifty feature. It boils quickly and has a little tune when it’s done. The two things I would change is the lid, not a huge fan of fully detachable lids, whilst it makes it easier to clean they can get quite hot if you’re boiling more than one jug and need to refill. Also the measurements starts quite high at 4 cups, I suppose you would get use to smaller amounts eventually.

    Modern kettle

Today, I am reviewing the Breville Bread Select 4-Slice Toaster; I thought I would share some of my thoughts with you.

There is nothing I like more than a great big doorstep of fresh bread, thickly sliced and toasted, with butter on top and finished off with some local honey; so I was super excited to be asked to review this toaster.

As with all Breville products, this Breville Bread Select 4-Slice Toaster did not disappoint; this is a stunning toaster that exceeded my expectations in terms of design, build quality, and performance.

The brushed Brushed Stainless Steel finish is so appealing.

I enjoyed a perfect toasting every time with each of the six pre-programmed settings and for each type of bread, bagels, crumpets and teacakes that I tried.

I loved the variable width bread slots, which allowed for both my extra thick slices and the pre-sliced thin bread that I felt I had to road test.

The high lift feature allowed me to check my crumpets mid-cycle, even though there is a pretty LED timer counting down to when they would be ready.

My husband and I happen to like our toast cooked the same way; however, you can change each side to a different toast setting should you wish.

At the time of writing this review (October 2020), the Breville Bread Select 4-Slice Toaster is 69.00. It is available on Prime offering FREE One-Day delivery and & FREE Returns.

Sitting around the 70 mark, I understand this is very much a considered purchase, but I think this holds it own, and at this price point.

This is a great kettle in many ways and is very easy to use. It is on the heavy side so it is probably not the best kettle for those who struggle to lift heavy things, especially if you might be filling it. I haven’t used a kettle before that has different heat settings and I had assumed that it was a bit of a gimmick but it is actually a really handy feature, not only for different types of drink but also if my children want a hot drink I can easily make it not boiling hot for them which is great. The kettle is comfortable to hold, easy to fill and pours well, it also boils quickly and fairly quietly. Sadly the walls to the kettle are quite thin which means that the kettle gets hot, although the handle stays cool, but also the water in the kettle doesn’t stay hot for that long. Overall though I think that it is a great kettle.

OK, I’m lazy, sometimes we all are, and first thing on a morning, filling the kettle, is one of those times. This kettle is beautiful, futuristic-looking and even beeps a cheerful tune when it reaches the selected temperature. But filling the kettle with water through the spout and not removing the lid sprays water everywhere.

Unless you get the angle correct, water from the tap will enter the spout of the kettle, but because of the angle of the spout, some water is forced out back into the sink. As a result, my morning routine now includes the extra step of removing the lid of the kettle to fill it. Not a major headache but…

My only other criticism is that 4 cups is the minimum line on the kettle, I only need one cup so boiling a litre of water for it is a bit excessive. Other than that, it looks fantastic, the temperature control is brilliant, the flavour is great and it’s easy to clean.

The Breville Temperature Select Electric Kettle looks like a high tech kettle from the future and has some nifty features but one thing lacking.

The kettle’s main claim to fame is having an easy to use touchpad on the base that gives you instant access to 5 different temperatures from 80 to 100C, plus a stop button if you want to stop it early. An easy to read measurement display at the bottom of these shows how much time is left via a series of bars that gradually disappear.

The kettle itself is well made and looks very smart with a comfortable large handle and pop off lid. I’m not overly keen on lids that come right off because you then have to put them somewhere while you fill the kettle, but it’s more a personal taste thing.

Behind the handle sits the water level measurement and this is my one bugbear with this kettle, the measurement only starts at 4 cups. It’s not a huge issue for two people as you can still just see the water and work out half way to 4 cups but filling this for a single person is more trial and error as it’s not enough to even show up at the bottom of the water level indicator. All it needed was to be a bit lower down, really. That said, it’s a minor point that I’ve already got used to getting around by peering inside when I pour the water if I only want water for one person.

Overall, then, this kettle looks great sat on its futuristic display stand, works really well with a fast boil at lower temperatures and even makes a very small musical sound when finished (which I still think sounds a little like the first few notes of the Eastenders theme but my family disagree and look at me funny when I suggest it).

You’ve got bread type selection, variable browning and my favourite, lift & look so you can check how your toast is doing which is something you’ll use all the time. The illuminated countdown timer is also really handy as you know when your toast is almost done. Independent browning controls are perfect for us as me and my other half like our toast at different browning levels. While this toaster is expensive it’s premium brushed stainless steel construction and high end build quality complete with all its features definitely makes it worth it.

I’ve been using this kettle for a few weeks and have to say overall it’s been an excellent experience so far. In our household, we drink a lot of tea and coffee so having the option to choose the temperature which best suits the drink is amazing. We are also trying to be more eco-aware so having the ability to clearly see how much water we are using and selecting a lower temperature is a definite plus.

The actual design of the kettle fits perfectly with our kitchen aesthetic, it’s brushed stainless steel with subtle rose gold accents so the build quality seems really good. Both our toaster and microwave are bought from different brands but the rose gold accents blend perfectly. When our toaster breaks we are playing the buy the toaster counterpart to this. The base unit has touch screen controls which allows you to control the temperate and start and stop the boil. It’s very easy to operate and didn’t take me long to get used to it.

When pouring it’s not too heavy and the spout design avoids a lot of the overflow that our cheaper kettle suffered from. The lid comes manually when you open it via the handle which is simple and seems to have a tight seal.

Overall it’s a really nice kettle and I would recommend it for people who are looking for a bit more flexibility and feature set compared to a cheaper kettle. I will update the review if I have any problems in the future.

Appearance – this is a really stylish kettle. I don’t like the trend for shiny metal appliances but the fact that this has that brushed finish means it doesn’t look too shiny and doesn’t get covered with fingerprints.

Functions – this is a great kettle for anyone who is serious about their hot drinks. You can choose your temperature so it is great for people who like green tea or other drinks that should not be made with boiling water. I also love how quickly it boils and it does make at least 6 cups from one kettle. The kettle is always on in my house and this really does save time. One thing I really love is the base. It is so much nicer looking and stable than the typical round plastic base that you get with a lot of kettles.

Conclusion – I think if you drink a variety of hot drinks and want to make them at the correct temperature so they taste their best this is the kettle for you. If you also want a stylish kettle and are happy to pay a little extra for it this will also be a great kettle for you. If you just make yourself a cup of builder’s tea a few times of day you can easily find a kettle a lot cheaper that will do everything you need.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is part of Breville’s new Selecta range of kitchen appliances, currently comprising (that I can tell) of a kettle and a toaster. You can get both as a pack or individually. I just have the kettle.

The kettle is comprised of a base which houses the control unit and the cordless kettle. It is predominantly metal in a brushed finish although the handle and base are polished. The side of the kettle has a plastic strip going up the majority of the inside of the handle (on the body of the kettle). This gives an indication on how much water is inside, in cups, starting from 4. The heating element for the kettle is concealed in the base of the kettle and is rated at 3kW, so is capable of boiling water quickly.

The lid is a little odd by modern standards as it is just a push fit (it clips in well) and not a flip up. You have to be careful removing the lid as any condensation underneath does drip. Inside there is also a plastic mesh that serves as a limescale filter.

The base of the kettle is polished metal (and it really does show all fingerprints unfortunately). The kettle sits in a fairly standard safety module used in many cordless kettles and allows the kettle to rotate around 360 degrees without losing contact. The front of the base has the control panel, where a lot of the magic in the kettle happens. It has capacitive button for stop, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100 degrees. There is also a time scale to give you an indication of how much longer the kettle will take to reach temperature (as can be seen in the video attached).

Using the kettle is simple as you just press the temperature you want and then wait the short time for it to boil. As the water inside reaches each temperature that can be selected, on its way to the desired temperature, it lights up until the next temperature is reached. Once the desired temperature has been reached, the kettle plays a little tune. If you don’t want the beeps and tunes, just hold down the stop button for more than 3-5 seconds and it turns off (or on again). As the kettle cools down, the temperatures light up and flash again, giving a quick guide to how hot the water inside still is.

One little thing I have noticed is that if the amount of water in the kettle is not at around 4 cups or more, then it seems to try and boil itself dry (well it continues to boil for way longer than is necessary). As soon as there is enough water in and the kettle doesn’t try to overboil.

Pouring the boiling water from the kettle is good. In the past I have had many kettles that seem to drip and pour badly (and dangerously considering the water is boiling) but this one pours safely in a consistent and predictable manner.

Overall, this is one of the best kettles I have ever used. I particularly like the fact I can choose a temperature to heat the water to as different drinks require a different heat. This one makes it easy

This is such a fab toaster, I like the retro design and the aluminium colours fits in with the colour scheme of the little breakfast bar i’ve made in my conservatory. This is more complex than my other toaster with its multiple settings but after doing a few rounds of toast i’ve realised how genius it is!! It’s especially perfect for Bagels with its own allocated setting and it really does toast them perfectly. My other toaster burns bagels and i’fe never found the optimum time so this one is a no brainer!

This is a really brilliant toaster, I love that you can change both sides to be different toast settings, rather than my other toaster which just has one setting for all 4 slices which is problematic for me as myself and my partner prefer different levels of brown!!

Recommended and a really attractive range, perfect toast everytime and feels great quality and built to last.

I never use a kettle with smart digital controls and variable temperature controls. It is the perfect kettle for the person who likes to have their coffee or tea at the correct temperature. Excellent build quality and stainless-steel kind of body plus copper finish on top and bottom design looks very posh, really stand out on my kitchen. The kettle has a handy feature that let me know the cooling down temperature, so I know if I need to reboil water or not. Very quick in boiling has an excellent capacity. The touch style buttons are easy to clean. The kettle is a bit heavy, and if I put water in it it gets heavier, so it is not suitable for the person who has difficulty in lifting heavy objects in my opinion.

Overall very happy with this purchase, highly recommend it.

A good- looking, well-made kettle with a mix of brushed stainless steel for the body with the base and handle being in chrome. I love the unusual dark bronze trim which makes for a very attractive finish.
This is a fast boiling kettle but is a little noisy. The temperatures of 80, 90, 95 and 100 are shown on the base and a label gives you guidance as to what temperature to choose. Make your choice with a slight press on the number which then illuminates and away it goes, counting down at the same time. Once ready, the temperature reached starts flashing and it plays a sound.
I am really enjoying using this kettle and the only thing I think could be improved is the top opening of the kettle which has to be pulled off and then pushed back on. I also like the fact that once it finishes boiling it does not keep boiling back up again which some kettles do.
The electric lead is fairly long but you can decide how long or short you want it as there is storage under the base. The base also rotates so the kettle is easily rotated.
A matching toaster can also be purchased.
If you can live with a top that has to be manually pulled on and off, it is a purchase I would highly recommend.

A nice looking toaster that performs as expected. Takes a bit of trial and error to set the dials to exactly how we like our toast but it’s been the same with every other toaster we’ve owned so that was expected. Bit of a fiddle and faff and each side now gives us custom toast, suited to our personal tastes. Looks great too and has a bit of a Steampunk vibe to it. Very happy with this and can recommend.

I’m a toastmonster, you’re a toastmonster! Whether it’s white, brown, wholemeal, gluten free, bagels, crumpets…this has it covered!

This Breville toaster is one chunky money! It comes in at 33.8 x 33 x 24cm, weighs 3.33kg, comes in glorious gun metal and polished chrome. The 4 slots are nice and wide, so them doorstep slices us Dads do will be just fine!
You get 6 pre-programmed settings for white, granary brown / rye, bagels, crumpets and gluten free. So in theory it should, toast the perfect slice every time. You get 2 crumb racks at the rear to empty your junk out!
I do like the lifty up feature so you can check on how well your toast is doing without it affecting the heat.

Using the toaster is a pleasure, it’s the same toasting time as my old one, but the results were a bit more consistent not as stripy and it doesn’t pop yer toast right up high making it cold.

The one minus is the ridiculously short power cord, not very well designed. So a kitchen jig around was required.

Well recommended, as it is one sexy breadmonster machine.

    Sexy brilliant toaste

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersRight, although I was said to have my sleek beauty from Te…l leave the scene and now I desperately need a matching kettle, this toaster blows any other out of water in a flash! It is the real deal and one to most certainly invest in!
Large, capacity for 4 thick slices of bread or any other bakery goodies you may want to toast! Gorgeous! Stain free, so no fingerprints to worry about despite its stainless steel shiny appearance!
    Browning control or timer!
Pre-programmed temperature and time settings for different types of bread!
Gluten Free function for those who are gluten intolerant and have to watch their toast not to burn it to coal!
Lift and Look during the toasting cycle without stopping it!
High lift – no burnt fingers
    Anti jam design!
Have used it for just under 3 weeks ( had to mourn for the black beauty who had to be replaced with this superior being) and not looking back, as this one makes all the difference in the kitchen and I can trust it to give me perfect toast every time all the time!

    Smart Beast! Definitely recommended!

This is a stunning toaster that really exceeded my expectations in terms of design, build quality, and performance. However it let let me down with a very inconvenient cable that is ill-located.

The toaster shows a highly appreciated attention to detail especially with respect to the toasting modes it offers, the wide slots, and the extra lift for small bread slices. It can be used to toast different types of breads and bagels thanks to its wide slots. It differentiated between types of breads (normal, seeded, etc) as each type is represented with a corresponding mode.

The buttons are interactive and backlit in white, making them handy even at night when I fancy a slice of bread and cheese without turning on the lights. There is a toasting indicator that shows the toasting process.

This toaster accommodates every type of bread/bagel I put in it, unlike my previous one which used to leave a part of my large bread slices untoasted. For small slices, it features the option of high lifting so that the slices become reachable. I really suffered with small slices in the past where I had to get them out of a hot toaster.

The only annoying thing about this toaster is the location and length of the power cable. It is placed in a very inconvenient place beneath the toaster, and to place the toaster facing forward, half of the cable is already under the toaster, which makes it very short to reach a power socket. I managed to plug it in my kitchen by placing it on top of my microwave but I can imagine many people would find it a hassle.

As a toaster with such functions, it is definitely a go-to if you are looking for something modern and efficient. However, if you are looking for something with a long cable then you might find this a bit inconvenient.

Almost perfect, but the cable location isn't convenient at all

This 4-slice toaster is such a revelation compared to my old one with lots of clever modern features combined with an old-fashioned retro styling that I love. It looks reminiscent of an old chunky radio with the chrome contrasting with the brown plastic (not wood!) at the base and the lovely big round control dials.
You have separate controls on each side enabling you to toast different things simultaneously such as bread on one side, crumpets on the other, and the slots are nice and wide so you can actually get those crumpets or a sliced ciabatta roll in there without crushing it. I also love the high lift which means I’m no longer frustratingly poking with silicone tongs trying to get smaller items out after toasting!!
The gluten-free option is a feature that I never would have even thought of as I don’t use gluten-free products, but have since learned that these products are much denser than normal bread and so this toaster can toast these more slowly to get a proper toasting without burning them first! So this would be an extremely good find for anyone on a gluten-free diet.
The only issue some might have with this, is the length of cord. It’s a little short. For me, this isn’t a problem; I’ve always sited my kitchen electricals very close to my sockets as I prefer not to have acres of cord around, getting in the way and I’m lucky enough to have lots of sockets but I can see that for others this might be an issue.
In summary though, a very stylish toaster, sturdy and solid, with some really great features

This Breville temperature select electric kettle comes in a brushed nickel colour, which looks very sleek and sophisticated. It has smart digital controls which I think are a great addition. It sits on a base with touch sensitive controls, which are easy to work. The variable temperature controls are a great idea, and there are 5 different temperature settings, suitable to make black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong and coffee at the correct temperature for each one. It boils quickly and holds a good amount of water. It has a comfortable handle and a lid that is easy to remove and therefore easy to fill. It has a 360 degree rotational base, so is easy to use whether you are left or right handed. It also has plenty of electric cord too. A really nice kettle and I am very pleased with it.

This is the best toaster I’ve ever owned!

It is easy to control and I love that it has settings for crumpets, bagels and different types of bread, as well as the timer dial. I know that my favourite brand of bagels need the dial at 5, for example. It toasts consistently.

You can lift products up while they are toasting without stopping the toaster. This is a very handy feature of you’re not sure how long to toast something for.

It’ll take thick bread and crumpets easily. Crumb tray works does what it should.

The only issue I have with the toaster is the short cable. Admittedly my old kitchen has sockets in odd places, but I didn’t expect to have to use an extension lead for a toaster! Just something to bear in mind if you’ve not got a socket right by where you want your toaster.

Toasters aren’t something that are particularly easy to get excited about, but, this does have a rather unique feature that you can see a visible display of where you are in the cycle and how long remains, which is a nice touch if you want to dash and do something whilst waiting for it to toast. The browning is pretty even and unlike my previous toast I don’t need to rotate the bread at half cycle. Ther gluten free option seems to toast at a lower temperature and is also pretty good on extremely thick bread that usually browns too quickly whilst leaving the middle doughy. The rise is great making it easy to get crumpets etc out without having to burn your fingers which is nice!

The brush nickel finish is lovely and far more practical in a kitchen as the chrome toaster it replaced always had marks from wiping it and was a nightmare to keep clean, this seems a lot more forgiving.

Does the job well and looks great – that’s all I need!

This is a really nice retro-look toaster that we are using in our new kitchen. It looks really good, and is great for toasting. Unlike many toasters that seem to fail at one of the most important things for a toaster (to be able to fit in a piece of standard sliced bread both widthwise and heightwise), this one does that easily, and has wide slots that you can adjust for different toasting requirements.

It seems really well-made; there was a smell of plastic the first couple of times we used it, but that has now gone and it’s working very well. The only downside is that the power cord isn’t very long; this will be fine for most, but if you need to stretch it across a worktop then you might struggle. Other than that, fantastic!

Easy to clean and easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNever in my life i would imagine having kettle with touch pad but here it is. Most advanced kettle i ever seen and at the same time very elegant and stylish. I love brushed stainless steel and kind a copper finish, make is feel very premium and posh. underneath of base has been fitted with cable management so that you can pull only how much cable you need so it is preventing cable overhanging or interrupting while laying on worktop. On top of the base you have whole control panel for:

    – water temperature depending what kind a tea/coffee you have:
    – 80C
    – 85C
    – 90C
    – 95C
    – 100C

    – OFF/STOP button
    – Strip which showing how much time left to finish for previously selected temperature

On the end you have even nice sound to let you know it is done. The only one problem with this kettle is, after using it, top lid is so hot that probably you should not opening it by pulling it for top handle straight away, but other than that you can not expect better experience with kettle than having Breville. Really incredible kettle, very happy.

(for presenting purpose i have increased speed of video in middle part to save your time for looking on boiling water)

    Very elegant and functioning kettle

I got this as a timely replacement for our old kettle. The kettle is very nice with its metal body and the base which has chrome effect compliments it. I like the fact that the base has touch control for the buttons, and it lights up when the water inside the kettle is hot, indicating the temperature (and it changes according to the temperature, so down from 100 to 95, 80, etc.). It’s a handy feature and easy to tell at a glance if the water inside is good enough to brew another cup of tea. It’s also economical as you don’t have to boil the water all the way to 100 degrees Celsius every time (it comes with a little tag showing what temperature is suitable for what type of drink, from green tea, to coffee and black tea. A tip is that the darker the drink is, the hotter the water needs to be). Ah, I forgot to mention that the base makes some chime when it finishes boiling water as well.

My only complaint is that this kettle is a bit noisier than all of the old kettles I have used. I can have the kettle boiling in the kitchen, then pass the dining room, through the hall, and I can still hear it sitting at my desk in the study (the house was quiet. Kids were at school!). It’s not a reason to deduct a star, but I suppose I should mention that for completeness’ sake.

All in all, nice looking and sturdy kettle with handy and useful temp control function. 5 star from me!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is the review of the Breville Bread Select 4-Slice Toaster.
The descriptions on the Amazon webpage is correct therefore, I will only mention my impressions of this toaster and what I liked/disliked about it.

Appearance: this looks very nice and stylish. I like the simple 2 theme colour.

Build quality: is very good. Buttons are firm and feel good quality. The slides are smooth to move up and down. The knobs are ok although they feel a little flimsy!

    Functionality:
I have been using it for few days. The first time I used it, it smelled like burnt plastic. The burnt plastic smell is decreasing but it’s not gone yet! The bread slots are really large so they can take a thick slice the of bread easily.

This is probably one of the most versatile toasters out there. Toasting level is accurate. And having several bread options is fancy and nice. The gluten free option toasts the gluten free bread a little slower since these breads are denser. Thus, this way it won’t burn your gluten-free bread. This is a nice touch for those who consume gluten-free bread.

Warranty: in the manual it doesn’t say anything about the warranty term but it mentions to register your product online to activate your warranty!

    Cons:
    Electric cord is short.

The burnt plastic smeel that I mentioned earlier. But this is decreasing everytime I have been using it.

In conclusion, I like it! In terms of quality of the toast, accuracy of toast level, versatililty and beauty this is a very good toaster. I recommend it.

Obviously I’m hoping that the burnt plastic smell will completely go away. If the smell doesn’t go away I will update my review.

Good quality, versatile, gluten-free option is a nice touch, beautiful, but has issues to consider!

This is probably the nicest toaster I have ever owned. I’m really chuffed with it. For our large family, a 4-slice toaster is a must-have I have found. In the morning when we are all rushing for breakfast this is ideal. This toaster has the most settings I have ever seen on a toaster.

    Pro’s
    – You can lift up the slider to check your toast mid-cycle.
    – A time indicator to show you how much longer to wait
    – A gluten-free function (longer and slower toasting)
    – 6 types of bread settings (white, brown, grain, fruit bagel and crumpet)
    – the top of the toaster is a completely smooth surface so no crumbs get stuck, it is easty to wipe clean.
    – it’s quick

    Cons:
    – the power cable is a bit short
    – no, defrost function (I’m not really missing this as you can just adjust the settings yourself)

    Brilliant toaster.

Update: This toaster has survived a smoothie disaster! I had to rinse this toaster under the tap… I give it 6 stars if I could.

    Very happy with this toaste

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis kettle from Breville offers everything I need from a kettle. I mainly drink green tea, which has an optimum temperature of 80 degrees for hot water, so the variable temperature control is ideal and ensures I can make the best cup of green tea.

I really like the design, it’s quite low key but has some nice design touches, such as the copper accents on the knob and the bottom of the kettle, which are subtle but really set of the overall design. I wasn’t at first sure about the unbrushed base plate as though it would show every finger mark up, but so far this has not been the case. I also wondered if it would look odd against the brushed Stell kettle body, but again it doesn’t, and it provides a nice contrast and design ethic overall.

The kettle in use is simplicity itself. When you first take it out of the box you need to build two full kettle loads in order to ensure any last vestiges of the build process are removed and then you’re ready to go. The kettle has a measure beneath the handle so you can just boil what you need. If I’m being really picky, I’d say that I’m not that keen on the placement, though my previous kettle also has it placed there, as it’s always blocked by your hand when filling the kettle. That said it’s a minor point and it would effect the overall design of placed somewhere else, and it doesn’t impact on my overall rating.

Once you’ve filled the kettle to the desired amount, you then place on the the boil plate and choose which temperature you require. On the video I have chosen 80 degrees for my green tea. You don’t need to press anything else as it starts boiling immediately from there. When boiled the kettle plays a nice inoffensive then to let you know it’s finished, which I much prefer to the loud ding of my old Bosch variable temperature kettle. If you want to stop it boiling you can easily press the square stop button the left of the kettle base or lift up the kettle from its charging plate. I found it ours very well from the spout, and you can also judge that from the video. I like the the top pulls off manually rather than pops up. It might not be for everyone, but I’ve had two Bosch kettle with automatic pop up tops which have both failed and have to done manually. At least with this kettle you know where you’re at and there is nothing to go wrong with the top. Even after boiling several times in a row I didn’t find the top was too hot to handle, it was just slightly warm and I didn’t find that the hot steam billowed out after either, so all good from my point of view.

So I really like this kettle. I particularly like that the control panel is touch screen, so no buttons for dirt to linger and you can easily clean with a swipe of the cloth. This kettle from Breville gets top marks from me and Think it offers good value for money if you need the temperature flexibility. I expect it to last for a good long time.

One of the coolest looking kettles I have reviewed. Good build quality and I like the colour. The variable temperature control is a feature I thought I wouldn’t use but actually now I have it I am. When I made a hot chocolate drink the other day for my child, I made sure it was at 80 degrees and not boing so he could drink it sooner without leaving it to cool. I know coffee doesn’t need boiling water unlike tea.

The 360-degree base is useful, your plug can be on any wall and this can be used with right and left-handed people. Cable is short so the plug will need to be near. It holds a lot of water, enough for 8 cups and there is a water meter on the side.

The element is concealed which should make it easier for descaling and there is a scale filter in the spout. The kettle has a bit of weight to it especially with it full of water so worth noting if you are buying a kettle for someone who finds it difficult to lift weighty objects.

You can see the progress of the boiling and there is a sound as well. It says it has a rapid boil, but I didn’t notice it boiling any quicker than my previous kettle. The buttons are touch style so can easily be wiped down and cleaned. I like that the lid lifts off completely to fill.

A nice looking kettle with a surprisingly useful variable temperature setting.

Review for the Breville Bread Select 4 Slice Toaster

I’ll start with the most important issue with this toaster. The power cord. The way it’s designed means the cord housing is closer to the front base section of the unit, as a result a good 6 inches of it, is taken up by feeding it back towards the rear of the unit, what’s left then has to be fed to a nearby socket.

If you plan to place this unit more than directly near the electrical supply, mainly to avoid it being under a wall unit so as to protect the base of the cupboards from warping/discolouring over time. You may find you have to face it sideways or use an extension. Both of which are less than ideal and it takes the aesthetical reasons you may have bought this toaster away, especially over others you may have discounted based on the unique design of the dials of this one..

Apart from this slightly odd design of the electrical outlet, the toaster is actually quite nice.

It has a vintage 50s radio feel about it. The brushed chrome and bronze look alluring. The large and pleasingly independent dials means you can adjust the controls on either side to have a varying doneness.

The illustrated images, instead of numbers on the dials takes a certain getting used to. Its great if you understand it, but a bit more challenging for guests you may have.
There is also an countdown indicator by way of the illuminating bars. This doesn’t really tell you how long you have left in seconds/minutes. Especially for someone that is not accustomed to the unit. But for everyday use, once you know and understand it, it is very distinguishable.

The bread slots are nice and wide and perfect for soft bread rolls, teacakes, muffins, crumpets, naan and bagels as well as the thinner stuff. The high lift which many of the newer toaster now have, is a much needed option for toasting smaller breads, even Welsh cakes, which I like warm.

There is the option of buying the matching kettle too. As a proficient drinker of varying teas, its worthwhile pointing out that the kettle is this set is pretty good as it allows variability in temperature. Which for me, is essential when brewing delicate shincha green teas which I buy nitrogen packed from Japan for freshness. Other teas too, benefit in more delicate brewing.
    4 stars

    Hope you found this useful.

I really like the modern features of this kettle. To speed up the boiling time & save on energy there’s the option to choose your optimal temperature (and a guide to help). It’s chime time let you know it’s ready is so unique & almost musical which is a first for me but rather cool and modern without being tacky. It’s a sleek all metal design (be careful, it can get hot to the touch) and looks good in our kitchen.

The downsides for me are that the water filling gauge is behind the handle making it a little difficult to see when filling and the cable is short (55cm) so it will need to sit quite close to the socket.

But overall it’s an excellent energy & time saving kettle that makes a delicious coffee all under 45 seconds so I’m happy.

This toaster is exceptional. The functionality is game changing, with such nifty features. The innovations that come with this toaster are not gimmicky at all. The design is on the whole fantastic. The build quality is remarkable.

My favourite feature with this toaster is the illuminated countdown timer. It gives you a clear indication of how long is left before your toast pops up. It makes a difference when you’re doing other things in the kitchen. I have found it time saving for me as I can do another task whilst the bread is toasting and be sure I am there ready when it pops up so I get it as hot as can be.

Another feature that works well for me is the high lift lever. It ensures my fingers don’t go anywhere near the slot and can get hold of the toast easily.

This toaster comes with so many variables which ensures you gets you toast exactly how you want it. I thought it would be overly technically and confusing to use. But for me I found it quite intuitive and instinctive. It really is simple to operate.
One of the options is a Gluten free bread option. Gluten free bread is often difficult to toast as it is more dense. Often leading to burnt edges but barely done in the middle of the slice. Using this feature on the Breville toaster seems to toast longer and at a lower heat setting.
One thing I have noticed with this toaster is the amount of element strips it has across. It has loads. And that makes for a very even toasting over the bread.

The toasting slots are a standard size really. 5.5″ x 1.5″. It can accommodate most bread slices. Thick or thin. The slots are independently controlled.

The build quality is exceptional. It has strikingly good looks that are somewhere between modern and retro. I doubt there is a kitchen style that it would look out of place in.

The only issue I have found is the cord has not been very well set out and could be quite limiting. It is less that two foot long and the cord enters the machine at the front, so there is only approximately 50cm of cord to play with. So you need to ensure that there is a power outlet within 50cm of where you want your new toaster placed in the kitchen.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy current toaster only works on the right side and it’s quite well-worn now. So it’s time for a new one.

This one definitely caught my eye. I love contrast between the brushed Nickel look and the brown plastic. It reminds me of an old radio my grandad has. Especially with the circular turn nobs to control between the types of bread.

There’s 6 bread settings you can select, I’ll be honest don’t always think about what bread I’m throwing in the toaster. It’s a new feature for me. It’ll probably take some time for me to get used to changing the settings.

It looks really well built and feels solid. I love the how wide the chambers are. It’s really been useful for bagels and teacakes. They used to always get stuck in my current one.

Also probably the most beneficial feature for me is the high lift design. This is what I’ve needed for so long.

It’s so annoying to have to unplug the toaster and then dig your fingers inside trying to grab hold of the bread. Usually tearing the teacakes out piece by piece.

This can be matched with one of their kettles models too to complete as a set, unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity to test that one. It looks really cool and together they’d look amazing in your kitchen.

Overall, a really good-looking toaster packed with some cool features. Would Recommend.

Great looking and packed with features.

Really like the look of this toaster, it’s quite a funky design and looks expensive. The brushed finish means less fingerprints.

Toasts evenly and quickly. Didn’t realise how slow our old toaster was until seeing how fast this one toasts. My toddler loves the countdown feature so you know when it’s almost done.
Has a lift feature to check on how toasted the bread is which is handy when figuring out which settings you prefer. Just about fits the largest supermarket bread

Only downside is the size, it’s quite large because the slots are so wide.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a smart looking kettle that is also intelligent enough to bring water to lower than boiling temperatures at the touch of a button. The base looks good and should be easy to keep clean whilst the kettle is a joy of brushed metal and with a plastic base; the interior, with the exception of the water level gauge, is all metal. Again, a quick wipe with a damp cloth should keep this looking good.

I am less keen on the top, which needs to be pulled off to fill the kettle if you use water from a filter jug. You could fill it through the spout if you go to the tap, but otherwise that lid needs to come off, which is a pain if you have just boiled the kettle as I found it got hot and you also need to contend with residual steam should you wish to boil another load.

The kettle feels weighty due to its metal construction, but shouldn’t be a problem for anyone with a weaker grip, even when full.

Time to get water to boiling was fine, as was the noise it made. My only qualm is the lid and that is only really an issue if you refill soon after it was last boiled.

This is my first Breville product and I am glad that I tried. This kettle is just very stylish in brushed stainless steel finish. It comes with a docking station that controls the on/off and temperature you want. Which makes the kettle uncluttered, simple and elegant. The stainless steel handle is very nice to hold, you will feel the product is in exceptionally quality just by picking it up.

It comes with a count-down timer and it plays music when it is done.

    The pros:
    – It measures the water temperature after the water is boiled. So you know exactly what temperature of water in the kettle is to decide if you need to boil it again.
    – You can pick the temperature the water boil at, it comes with a little card to tell you the temperature you should be using for each type of tea, this will preserve the taste as well as the properties of the tea
    – Excellent value

    The cons:
    – Maybe a little heavy and a little tall for someone’s liking

In my opinion, this is absolutely a five stars product!

Best kettle I have ever owned!

This new toaster matches the minimalist style of our kitchen. I’m very happy with it, looks sleek and modern and most importantly it works great. Love it so much.
Arrived in a medium sized stylish box. Inside I found my new toaster along with a User Manual as well, which tells you everything with easy and understandable language even for people who are not too tech savvy. But let’s be honest, everybody knows how to use a toaster even without a user manual. Was really easy to get this little gem to work, I just had to plug in the electricity socket and it’s ready to use. I usually have two toast with avocado every morning for breakfast and this one makes perfect toasties for me. Featured with a temperature control with a mid-cycle cancelation button in the middle. For me the right setting is in the middle to get the perfect toasted bread and not a burned piece of something. It is also featured with Illuminated countdown timer tracks the toasting progress. It’s wide enough even to toast a bagel or a burger bun cut in half. There is no defrost option on this toaster but the lowest heat setting is perfect for us to defrost the bread or the bagel we kept in the freezer.
I think this toaster is a must have item in your kitchen. Looks great, works great as it should be, absolutely value for money.

This toaster is really good, once i removed it from the box i was so pleased, it feels very well made and it has a really nice look to it.

This has so many different features, the slots are wide so you can fit different thickness of breads in, you can set it for what you are making from bread to crumpets and bagels and then you can turn the dial to choose which number for how dark you like yours, after choosing everything the lights slowly go down acting as the time then it pops up, if at any point you want to have a check on your toast, you can lift it up without it stopping toasting which is a great feature as you don’t have to stop and start again. If you are making something small like bagels it has a high lift feature so you can easily remove it from the toaster without burning yourself.
We made our white bread on number 4 and it turned out perfect, just how we like it.

Overall I would definitely recommend this toaster it looks great and has so many different features it really is great.

    great toaste

I love the design, it looks modern but retro-classic. It’s not a cheap toaster and it doesn’t look like a cheap toaster.
It looks great in my kitchen and I think it will look great in your too.
The lift&look is quite useful for when you’re trying a new bread so you can easily make sure you’re not burning it by mistake.
But the countdown timer is really the best feature. It makes so much easier when you try to multi-task to prepare eggs, toast bread, brew the coffee. It’s somehow relaxing not having to guess at what point the toaster is.

It has been a joy to be able to set my kettle to suit my drink.
I have always known that boiling water scorches coffee and that is was best to use water “off the boil”, but getting it “off the boil” has been the problem as it’s always too easy to walk away and do something else and the water has boiled before you catch it and realistically who gets out the thermometer to check the temperature when they are making a brew?..

So here we have our lovely new kettle that does it for you and being a saddo I really did check the temperature of the water with my thermometer, to find it really was what it said it was going to be!

This is easy to use, has minimal plastic ( the water gauge and the limescale filter were all I could see) so no funny taste to the water when it’s boiled and reaches temperature quickly.

It looks smart in the kitchen and works well- exactly what I want in a kitchen appliance.

This is a lovely old style retro toaster of a metallic finish which goes beautifully with my kitchen.

The 4 slots are so there is no worry about your bread getting stuck which is great or even crumpets, bagels and rye bread. With a family of 4 we used to have a two slot toaster so would have to wait for 2 to be done before doing the other ones whereas this allows them all to be done together.

I do like the fact you can use different breads in this toaster as it allows for a good mix.

The countdown timer is a good feature so you can see how long until the bread is done.

Breville as always has made this toaster to a really high standard as with their other items. Although the price tag is high the functionality it includes is worth it.

Very advance Kettle which has the ability to heat to a different temperature. The temperature needed depends on the type of hot drink you make.
It is silver in colour, one thing I did notice was that the ‘wall’ of the kettle get hot with the water inside and could hurt if you didn’t realise that it gets hot as many other kettles at less of the price I have owned have cool wall technology.
As long as we remember to be aware that the kettle body will get hot. We love the kettle.

This is an amazing kettle to have at home. First of all, it stands out with its design and looks. Moreover, the quality of the materials which were used at this kettle is really high and can tell what by just holding it as it explains the price of this kettle. As well it is made from stainless steel, instead of plastics and it gives a really solid feel. Now about the functionality of kettle. It has a quite long cord, are least longer than my previous kettle. Its capacity is the same as most of the kettles in market 1.7L so its enough for 5-6 cups. It heats up quite fast, but are a bit loud but I guess it is a result of a fast boiling. The best function of this kettle is the ability to select temperatures for a specific beverage. It has a selection of 5 different temperatures for a variety of teas and coffee. Although, I needed to check different temperatures to find which fits best my coffee and my green tea. But trial and error bring a perfect beverage. Overall it is a really good kettle which can make a perfect brew for an afternoon tea or for a strong coffee for a morning kick.

Amazing kettle to make a perfect beverage

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis toaster provides lots of flexibility over your run of the mill toaster when it comes to toasting the perfect slice.

Its split design has separate toasting settings for the two slots on the left and the other two slots on the right. So if you like your two slices well done but your partner prefers theirs lightly toasted, you can do all four slices at the same time and you will both be happy.

The knob twists to allow you to set the level of browning from 1 to 10. You can also set the bread type to white, grain, brown/rye, crumpet & bagel,

The real bonus of this toaster is if you are a coeliac and have to toast gluten free bread.

Gluten free bread is typically thicker, more dense and crumbly (often with a hole in the middle). This toaster has a special button to activate the gluten free mode. It give a longer, slower toast and my wife say the toast tastes better compared to our old toaster. She described it as “the bread tastes refreshed and crisped”, which she much prefers.

Each pair of slots has a gluten free button but I’m not sure you’d risk using the toaster with a mix of gluten and not gluten free bread if you was a coeliac.

An LED timer counts down to when your toast will be ready, using a semi-circle of lights under the knob which slowly go out.

The toasting baskets are really wide and adapt to your bread thickness and the high rise lift can be used during toasting to check the progress.

Overall a brilliant toaster especially if you are a coeliac.

Hopefully you found this review helpful

Brilliant toaster that toasts to perfection and has a Gluten Free mode. Perfect for Coeliacs.

There’s something semi-retro about the look of this toaster, which certainly looks smart, but with its combination of dark brown and big dials, feels like a bit of a throwback to the age of bakelite- with possibly just a hint of steampunk in there. It’s quite an unusual design, for sure, and eye-catching considering it’s a large 4-slice object that could easily dominate the kitchen.

Functionally, being a Breville you can of course rely on it to do its job. So far we’ve done white bread and brown bread, muffins and Pop Tarts in this with perfectly expected, fairly unremarkable results. The ability to lift the loading handle to check on how toasted it is, without cancelling the process, is absolutely ideal if you’re fussy about how browned you like things to be. It’s especially good with Pop Tarts for our child who wants their tart to be as hot as possible, but if the frosting so much as gets slightly singed it’s seen as catastrophic, so this is a big help for timing things just right.

With the lift and look feature, it seems almost redundant that the toaster has more advanced settings beyond just a simple timer for each side. As someone who sometimes eats gluten-free bread out of choice rather than need, it hadn’t actually occurred to me that gluten-free bread would be worthy of a different toaster setting, but the difference is fairly noticeable and quite successful, as it assumes that gluten-free bread is denser than normal bread, and toasts it more gently and slowly. The time difference in toasting is more noticeable than the effect on the toast itself I’d say, but it does add to the sense of versatility and getting your toast ‘just so’.

The build quality is all fine and dandy, with one noticeable exception. Whichever designer decided it would be OK to put the power cord near the front of the toaster, but then only provide a very short power lead, maybe needs a lesson in understanding that not every kitchen is the same design. In our kitchen it means the only way you can plug this toaster in in the normal position is to either put it so the dials are on the side (not ideal) or put it on an extension lead (even less ideal). There’s no extra cord hidden underneath to be unravelled, which is what I’d expected when I first noticed the problem. Why oh why is the cord so short? It’s just silly. It warrants knocking a star off just for that.

The instructions are thorough (to the point of being a bit patronising) and Breville have clearly put a lot of care and attention into certain details of this toaster- apart, unfortunately, from the length of the power lead. Ultimately though there are no special frills or tricks in here, and there are cheaper four-slice toasters that at the end of the day (or at breakfast time) are just as capable- so unless you’ve fallen in love with the style of it from the product photo, there’s no real reason why it would go to the top of the pile.

I absolutely love the Breville toaster – the slots are really wide so they fit in thick slices of bread which is a must! The bread doesn’t get stuck in the toaster, I find with some toasters you can only toast small slices but this can be used with a variety of sizes. Crumpets and bagels work incredibly well in the toaster, the setting functionality works well and I really can tell the difference! Toasts really well. Being able to lift the bread whilst toasting is a good little feature also. I used to have a two slice toaster and I’m now happy I can slice multiple slices at the same time instead of ‘relay cooking’ toast at 3AM.. I’m really pleased with the style of the toaster, the mirrored silver and metallic finish looks really smart in my kitchen, it not only looks great, it performs well! A great quality toaster, with great functionality – I’ve now replaced my old toaster with the Breville temperature control toaster and I think it’s a great addition to my kitchen. Highly recommended, excellent value for money.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersVery impressive variable temperature selection kettle from Breville.

Long gone are the days were we have too hot a coffee, or the opposite by leaving the water to cool for too long.

Simply select your ideal temperature on the base and the kettle immediately gets to work.

After a few uses you soon figure out your perfect temperatures for certain drinks. 90C is ideal for our cafetiere and 85C for teas.

A great feature of the kettle is it allows you to see what the current temperature is as it works up to boil from 80C to 100C.

The same applies after boiling/heating, as the water cools it lets you know what temperature it is currently at, right down to 80C. Useful if you have left the kettle sitting a few minutes and want to know if the water needs heating again.

If you boil/heat the water then need to use it at a lower temperature, simply tap the desired temperature and the kettle will alert you with a soft chime once that temperature has been reached.

Overall we’re very happy with the purchase and hope it lasts our household a good few years ahead with the kettles simplistic stainless steel body and sturdy touch sensitive base.
