BRITA P1000 water filter cartridge, compatible with all BRITA filter taps for chlorine and limescale reduction, 1 pack

Convenience and Taste

The most convenient way to enjoy BRITA-filtered water on demand. Features a dedicated tap for BRITA-filtered water. Ideal for cooking vegetables, pasta or soups, and enjoying the best flavour/aroma from your hot and cold drinks.

Long Cartridge Life

The exact lifespan of a P1000 depends on your usage and the hardness of your water. In a hard water area and based on average usage the P1000 cartridge will need changing approximately every 4 months.

Easy Cartridge Exchange

The P1000 fits neatly under the sink (horizontally or vertically) and takes minutes to change. No need to turn off your mains water. Just unlock it using the two blue levers on the side of the cartridge head, pull the old cartridge out and replace it with a new one. Lock the cartridge in place and you are good to go.

Recyclable

Enjoy BRITA-filtered water for just a few pence per litre. Good for your pocket and better for the environment. BRITA products use BPA-free plastic and P1000 cartridges are 100 per cent recyclable.

Tip: Visit the BRITA website to locate your nearest recycling centre.

With its under-sink installation, it discreetly enhances the quality of tap water, providing the assurance of 99.999% bacteria-free water. The included cartridge, boasting an impressive lifespan of 8000 liters, ensures long-term use without the hassle of frequent replacements. One of the standout features is the digital filter exchange reminder, which takes the guesswork out of maintenance, notifying me precisely when it’s time for a cartridge change. This not only ensures continued effectiveness but also maximizes convenience.

The installation process was relatively straightforward, and the slim design of the system efficiently utilizes under-sink space. The difference in water quality is noticeable, as the filter effectively removes impurities, leaving water tasting clean and fresh. While the initial investment might seem a bit steep, the long filter lifespan and the peace of mind in knowing my family is consuming safer water make it a worthwhile expense.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNeeded a replacement filter for the kitchen sink and buying directly from the supplier once you add P+P was a lot more expensive than getting it from amazon which was a good deal.
It is easy to install but must follow instructions in regards to flushing the filter through prior to using it otherwise you get cloudy water and a bit of a funny taste but once carrying out the above process water runs crystal clear and reduces limescale in hard water areas good value for money.

I replace our filter every 12 months as advised. I do wish they were more affordable though as they are very expensive but having said that they do a good job of filtering and the water is pleasant to drink and kettle also stays clear of limescale.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersArrived reasonably quickly and very easy to install. It definitely makes the tea and coffee taste much better although the effect wears off in about six months, then the filter cartridge needs replacing, so it makes it quite an expensive business.

My main concern is that it seems completely impossible to find anywhere that recycles the old cartridges. The company’s website has a map which gives details of the locations which accept them for recycling. I waited at the customer services desk at the local Tesco superstore, which was shown on the company’s map as being a recycling point, only to be told that they did not accept them and never had accepted them. It didn’t seem worth driving around the town in my diesel car trying to find somewhere to recycle the cartridges, so in the finish I just had to throw the cartridge away in the ordinary bin, I’m afraid. This is some thing that the manufacturers need to look at urgently.

Great value for money. Assuming you change the filter every 6 months like we do, over the course of a year it works out less than 1.50 a week – less than the price of a few bottles of water at the supermarke

We’ve used these in our Brita tap for several years now; we live is an extremely hard water area and kettles fur up in days, tea is scummy and the chlorine smell and taste is unpleasant (I’m not actually complaing about chlrorination of domestic water supplies – it’s necessary…)
The filter removes the smell, the great majority of the hard water minerals (carbonates, bicarbonates if my A-Level chemistry is remembered correctly!) and produces something drinkable and makes non-scummy tea!
In fact the re-arrival of the tell-tale scummy tea announces the need to renew the filter. Oddly enough it works out 3 months almost to the day since date installed
Well worth it where we live (and no furry kettles here)

Not cheap, but it’s the price you have to pay to have filtered water “on tap”! Quick and easy to install once you’ve done it a couple of times. It lasts the two of us a good few months, but obviously depends on usage.

Cheaper than the Brita website. Arrived quiet quickly. Followed the instructions for changing the cartridge online. A bit tricky as it’s quite heavy and where our filter is installed not much space for manoeuvre.

I use this with the Brita tap, and am pleased with the results. Easy to change, unquestionably superior to using a jug, and gets rid of 90-95% of tea scum with London water. “Double filtering” water through a jug as well does deliver noticeably superior results – hence the 4 stars – so there is a little room for improvement if you’re reading this Brita. Having said that, the difference is small and typically isn’t worth the hassle. The filter lasts pretty much bang on the stated 4 months, and we noticed more tea scum right at the time the tap indicated it was time for a change, so full marks for being in sync. For the price, I’d of course like it to last longer, but overall a good product.

There are only two of us so I don’t change the filter all that often. However, I noticed that our kettle was furred up so I descaled it and it furred up again really quickly. So I thought I’d change the filter, then clean the kettle. Since then no limescale in the kettle. So this filter really does stop the hardness in the water, QED.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so impressed that I thought I’d share my experience.

They work well enough but why are they every day filters so expensive and they only exist because of the failure of water companies to supply drinkable water. Is this really progress?

  27. Anonymous says:

Guess what. You connect it to your tap and it filters the water. Amazing, right?

I have been using this system for over 10 years now, not a single issue with it.

It produces naturally tasting, drinkable, clean water available immediately in any amount you need. Definitely better than those 2L jugs that run out of water when you need it most.

Having installed a inline filter in my very hard water area I noticed a difference immediately, the water tastes better and my kettle furs up much less, I was descaling every seven days before now probably every 4 weeks so a marked improvement. I tend to replace every 6-7 weeks as I use a lot of water.

I use the same buyer every year when i need a replacement, it arrives quickly, and well packed and in tact! Even though the recommended annual (12 month) change is required (maybe i use less water than others) this filter lasts me approximately 14 months easily and only change it because i am conscience it needs changing, but it is great value, and with the speedy delivery each year, i don’t see myself buying these anywhere else as long as i need them! Highly recommend the seller and product!

Water tasted filtered and doesn’t scale up our appliances. I find the P1000 very difficult to change over every 3-6 months when our tap flashed red. It would be good if the product came with better instructions.

This filter reduces limescale in our kettle to virtually nothing compared to using unfiltered tap water as we live in a hard water area. It also improves the taste of drinking cold water straight from the tap. I highly recommend it even though it is expensive. I don’t take any notice of the recommended change intervals as I find we can extend the time by up to 100%.

We purchased a Brita tap with water filter when we renewed our kitchen. The Brita Filter lasts for us approximately 6 months. Its obviously depends on the amount of water that you use. The inbuilt filter with the tap does away with the necessity of buying a Brita (or other make) of filter jug. We would certainly recommend the purchase of a Brita Filter Tap.

Once installed, filter is good. Bit awkward to change over the filter, but as much my fault as anything else due to where I sited the the filter. Kettle and other things hardly fur-up at all and gets rid of the slight chlorine taste I can taste if I drink unfiltered water. It feels slightly expensive, but you can buy 4 for the price of 3 direct from Brita if you time it well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Brita P1000 tap filter cartridge does a good job cleaning up the water for your Brita tap. The instructions are easy to follow – turn off the water to the existing cartridge by moving the water stop handle to the closed position. The awkward step is removing the existing cartridge which always needs more effort than I would like; but you lift it to a horizontal position and pull it out. Then reverse the procedure with the new cartridge. Then take your old cartridge to the supermarket to be recycled … Easy.

The tap got a high rating from me as it made getting cleaner water simple; the cartridge system is part of that. They last months and are easy to swap out when its time to do so.

Like what this filter does to the tap water, especially noticeable with tea. My only problem is that we tend to leave it too long before replacing it because of the cost. I always know when it has reached the end of its usefulness because the tea has an obvious film on top. It certainly makes tap water taste good enough to drink, without the hassle of constantly remembering to refill a filter jug.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt’s nice to have a cup of tea with no scum on the surface. I’ve used these filters for several years – I’ve not needed to descale the kettle for maybe 2 years (and I live in a hard water area). I use filtered water for my kettle, coffee machines and iron – obviously, I don’t actually do the ironing… I subcontract that 🙂 For what they are – they are too expensive (that’s not Amazon’s fault) – but I wouldn’t go back to using jugs. Once you have the knack for changing the filters over – it really only takes about a minute. Spillage is minimal – couple of sheets of kitchen towel handle that. Tesco’s recycle the cartridges for me.
