Over many years we have used Halti collars successfully with our Labs. Then a very strong, wilful, bitey, and large for his size mini poodle came into our lives. I found it impossible to find the correct size Halti and since it attaches under the chin he would chew through it in an instant. He completely flipped out with one on. Consequently, I was dragged all over the place and dreaded walks. As a last resort I bought a Canny Collar. I found the Canny Collar fiddly at first while holding a wiggling creature still. After a few weeks he now comes to have it put on. I did find that a weakness in the design is the two side straps will go over the dog’s head if he moves backwards or turns around. I fixed this by using a Nite-ize S-Biner double ended carabiner clip. One end holds the 2 pull straps together and your lead clip. The other end of the S-Biner clips to the D ring of the dog’s normal collar. This stops the straps from going over the head while still giving restraint control. S-Biners come in various sizes and state the weight they will hold. Hope this is helpful. It was a game changer for me.

My American bulldog pulls like a truck and will not tolerate a halti. This is so much better for his face type, he does still have the occasional tantrum but overall its a great tool. He will still try to pull especially at the beginning of his walk but this makes him manageable

I own EVERY other anti pulling dog device, most don’t work, or only work with my dog spending more time slamming his face into the ground in an attempt to get it off. This has completely changed walks for us! Not only does he not pull, he also seems oblivious to wearing it! I now can balance the lead on my little finger and take him round the block without it falling to the ground!

Even works on my devil dog!!!

Quality item. Good fit but had to return as I wanted a head harness that would stay put when the lead was removed

Wow!! We have an American xl bully who was a nightmare to walk pulled like a train! We tried various harnesses and leads and walking was still a failure. We read about the canny collar and decided to purchase one. Best money ever spent, on our first walk it was a totally different dog. He shook his head a couple of times as we expected but he soon got over this and is now a pleasure to walk. We would definitely recommend this.

I’ve tried numerous gadgets to stop my dog from lunging from one post to another: haltie, figure 8 lead, x3 harnesses. The canny collar is the only one where my dog walks in a straight line, doesn’t jump at people to say hello and doesn’t move erratically. He still pulls now and again but a gentle tug and stops. He also stopped whining and whimpering with it on. I don’t think he finds it comfortable but the more he wears it he is getting used to it. Would recommend if everything else has failed.

My boy seems to like it and its the only head collar he hasn’t tried to get off!!! His walking is much better and when he does try to pull it doesn’t ride up into his eye or jerk his head to the side. It’s easy to put on and seems well made. Got a size 1 for my 8.5kg jack russel

Dog seems to like it and it works

We bought this for our dog that pulls and he absolutely hates it! We love it! It stops him pulling our arms out of our sockets and pulls on him rather than us so it stops him in his tracks. It doesn’t hurt him it’s just uncomfortable if he pulls, if he walks nicely then it’s very loose and comfortable. It’s very safe because it’s a proper collar attached to your dog with extra parts attached to that. 100% recommend and yes they will try and get it off and hate it for the first minute but stick with it they soon give in!

This has stopped our large puppy pulling on the lead and does no go into her eyes, as the Halti did.
