What professionals say
“As an animal chiropractor, I am always looking for collars that are gentle, reduce the amount of stress, and essentially eliminate the potential for injury to a dogâs neck and spine. The Canny Collar does just that and still allows owners to properly control their dog.”

Fantastic coller I’ve tried the figure of 8 and the halti bot never helped, I’ve got a springer and a springador and couldn’t walk them by myself before was like a competition who could pull the hardest. Now walking is so easy with them both, my springador does try get it off his nose now and again but sure he’ll get used to it soon enough.. If your dogs pulls this is a Must, I found with the halti it hurt my dogs when they pulled but this is so much kinder on them. Win wi
I can now walk my Rottie again. Hes amazing with all his training except walking to heal. He became to strong for me to walk. This makes him walk lovely beside me. I had to train him to wear it, a few days with treats. After that he was happy to wear it. Hope this helps. I recommend it to anybody who is being dragged down the street lol.
I am so amazed how quick this works, i didnt like walking my sprocker as i would be dragged by him and i have bad knees however the moment i put this on him he walked lovely. The collar is nice and thick its also very easy to use.

My dog is 9 stone and this is the only lead that has worked. Previous leads and harnesses have led to me being pulled over and falling flat on my face. Would totally recommend
Guys the Canny Collar is amazing!!!
My 6month old collie was an absolute nightmare to walk. She’d pull us in all directions n just not listen to us at all. Now with this Collar its a joy to walk her.
Yes, like other comments mentioned, our dog made a fuss for the first few moments. But she then accepted it. And to be fair you cannot really blame the product for your own dogs nature in my opinion.
Great product! Highly recommended
Used today on my 5 month Doberman. She Had become almost impossibly difficult to walk. Pulling and jumping . Difference was instant and amazing and I feel that my teenage kids and wife will now be able to also walk her. First walk was a 70% success and later walk today more like a 90%. Doberman’s are incredibly intelligent and they know they are beat when this is on them. Although they will always try and take it off…Highly recommended and saved the day.
Pretty simple to use but my dog kept slipping himself out of it! Definately does the job though if it would stay on!
Was sceptical about this as I didn’t think there was anything that would make going for a walk enjoyable. Our my constantly pulled and was almost unmanageable. The first use of this collar showed that it was exactly what we needed. Worked absolute wonders on out Belgian malinois!
Having used the gentle leader for many months, I was worried about the damage I might cause to my German Shepherds neck and spine when she tried to chase a cat with me restraining her. Having read reviews on the gentle leader, one review said the canny collar worked differently. I resourced it and purchased it.
I have to say I have used it 4 times and its a pleasure to walk with.
My dog enjoys her walk and I do, feeling happier that I have control without hurting her.
EXCELLENT!
Seems to fit my spaniel well but not as good as a halti for dog feeling my movement. However, it is more comfy for my dog to pant and she likes to stick her tongue out and can do this with the Canny collar.
I bought this for a large dog which continually pulled, the owner calls it ‘a miracle’. The transformation was remarkable, the dog is now easier to walk and doesnt pull as much, in time I have confidence that he will stop pulling altogether, as I have got one for my German Shepherd who also pulled but now doesnt, making walking enjoyable for both of us.

I have bought a lot of harnesses collars slip leads over the past two years for my very excitable cocker . She was making my wrist hurt with her twisting and launching at things . Now you do have to watch the videos to pick up how to train with this and they won’t like it at first but be persistent. It has greatly made my life better and easier it’s all right for the righteous people to say you can do it with training but this gives you a little help to get started . I’m not new to dogs I have had numerous and trained successfully but this one is definitely different. I would wholly recommend this . As said just carefully watch the video how to put it on right .
I can’t praise this collar enough. It got to a point where I hated walking my German Shepherd. 40kg of dog pulling is no fun! Then I came across this and thought I’d give it a try. I have spent a fortune trying to correct his pulling, from collars and leads, to sending him to trainers. This worked from the first time I used it. He walks so much better, if he starts to pull he stops almost immediately. Walks have started to be fun again. Definitely recommend this.
My Bearded Collie loves everyone. To the extent that he would pull me off my feet to give whoever he met a leap up resounding welcome. A bit unnerving for the recipient! With the canny collar he can now wait to be invited, at a sit, and will keep all four paws on the ground. Brilliant!
Doesn’t completely stop pulling ,but certainly helps. Bit of a fuss to put on otherwise great quality product, machine washable. They get use to wearing them.
As a well practised sceptic, I thought I’d give this a go as a last resort, hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, as my shoulders and knees were telling me, “enough is enough!”
Well, well, well!! After fitting it (straight forward enough), a litlle practice walk around the garden and 5 minutes of him getting used to it, I went for a walk around the block. It’s like having a different dog!! Unbelievable difference!
Now hopefully my days of constant painful shoulders and knees may be over – and the dog has a stay of execution!!
P.S. Anyone got any ideas for recall?!! 🙂
From a dog that pulled every time i took him out (daily) stopped pulling straight away with this on, so easy to walk him now, a bit awkward to put on to start with but found it got easier the more i used it. Excellent product and i am going to get another one for my other dog, a 3 1/2 stone collie cross.

My beagle is an insane lead puller, to the level of embarrassment. She is now coming up to 2 years old and nothing I’ve tried has worked… Slip leads, front clipped harnesses, hundreds of treats and distraction therapy.
I received this collar yesterday – I’m actually concerned they didn’t send a collar, but an entirely different dog.
Initially the beagle was unhappy with the collar and froze in anxiety, then after a few minutes industriously tries to paw it away from her about. After a few futile minutes she realised it wasn’t going anywhere and gave up… So we went for a walk.
Now three walks in and she is at heel, relaxed lead with no tension required. Absolute miracle cure, and the beagle is still busy sniffing everything we walk by, appears to be delightfully happy and unconcerned about the snout fabric.
Long may she continue to act like this, but no matter what she does in the future this has worked like no other product.
Thank you Canny Collar! I’ll admit my scepticism has been completely disproven. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an over excited tugging pup.
So, for the last 3 and a half years we’ve been through multiple harnesses, different leads etc and whilst some have worked better than others there always seems to be a downside.
We got a figure of 8 lead which was the best before this one, until our Sprocker started leaning into heavily and ended up snorting like a pig due to the pressure it then exerted on her nose…
We bought a harness and although initially it seemed to improve things, she started tanking.
So the Canny Collar is a big improvement as she hasn’t made any pig sounds.. yet. She does bounce like a Kangaroo on it periodically and my older children find this very difficult to put up with but my husband has taken her out on it a few times too and if you ignore this and allow more slack in the lead, it means she can’t constantly do it, generally she walks very nicely. I’d not been able to walk her as she kept pulling on my arm so much I had pain through my shoulders but with this I have no pain in my shoulders… All we need is for her to drop the kangaroo impressions and it’ll be perfect.
Total game changer. We have an 11 month collie x gsd x black bear, utter nightmare to walk on lead with his rather nervous collie x springer mate. Pulled my arms out when seeing people and other dogs. Put this on and he’s a total pleasure to walk. It’s so easy to use. He will try and pull it off his nose but if you get the right collar size it ain’t going nowhere. I bought the size to big which he will grow into, adapted it into a martingale with his harness and it still worked. Smaller size and all sorted. My arms are no longer killing me.
My pup was awful pulling on the lead and hurting my shoulders. It was really unpleasant taking her for a walk. I researched the figure of 8 leads but read some reviews about them cutting under the chin which I wasn’t happy about. I then found the Canny Collar which is approved by the guide dog association.
When we first put it on she hated it as it was so different. We decided to put it on a few times for her to get used in the house (maybe twice) then a short walk in the garden before we ventured out. Honestly it has changed my life. No more pulling and walks lovely next to me or on a longer lead without pulling. Within a day she was walking better and by day two an absolute different dog. Best 18 I’ve spent. It’s amazing how much better she is. I now enjoy our walks together and my shoulder is no longer painful from the pulling.
My husband walked her today and I know he thought I was exaggerating the difference. He came back gobsmacked. She doesn’t even pull out the door anymore. She’s like a different dog. I can’t recommend this collar enough.
This took a week for our 7 month old labrador to get used to. We did very short walks for a few days and they were a nightmare but after a week she sat patiently while we put the collar on and walked perfectly. You have to percervier and do training in the house first but it is so worth it. Our lab also barked at dogs constantly until we got this but not any more. It doesn’t hurt her at all and has really been an absolute godsend so I would highly recommend. It took a while to work out how to get it on and was a battle for a week but now she just sits while we put it on and I never thought that would happen. It’s made walks an absolute joy.
Collar works. Stops dog pulling. She doesn’t like it and it’s fiddly to use without lead.
I bought this collar for my Beagle cross because she is very strong on a harness. I’m very impressed. Honey seems happy with it on unlike a Halti where she shook her head, rubbed her nose on the ground and pawed at it. Walking her has now become a joy for us both
I’ve never written any review before but I’m so impressed with this product I wanted to share the positive response I had from my puppy. He’s a 5 month old cockapoo who wanted to pull and tug all the time. Verbal training didn’t work. It took a few minutes to work out the fitting instructions but eventually worked it out. First time I walked puppy up and down the road he wasn’t impressed. Second walk that evening was just brilliant, after one or two pulls, he completely changed and walked by my side and was a joy to walk.

Bought this for my puppy to try to stop him pulling. Effective immediately. He walks nicely by my side now. Unlike other head collars I’ve used, this doesn’t leave a mark across the dogs face. Therefore I believe it must be more comfortable for the dog. When I let him off lead, I have to wind the slip lines around his neck and secure them with a clip provided. This is awkward as I have arthritis in my hands. That’s the only down side. I’m more than happy with it overall and would definitely recommend
Nothing wrong with it – fits OK but my dog hates it. However she is reactive with other dogs and needs a head collar so I can control her and not be pulled over (I have 2 large dogs!) so it serves its purpose and she will need to get used to it.
Our dog has always pulled and whilst this is not a magic instant solution it is certainly a lot easier than before!
She didn’t like it st first and kept trying to remove it with her paws but got used to it after about 5 walks with it.
Make sure you use it for training a dog to walk beside you rather than letting them wander about all over the place. Also note that the plastic buckle goes under the chin, not on the nose!
This seems to be a good quality product but unfortunately our gsd gets more stressed because she feels restricted. We will keep trying and rewarding her because it certainly does reduce the pull

This fits ok, and stops pulling, but does slip off my dog’s nose quite frequently, if he lowers his head. I will keep trying!
My cousin advised me to buy this as we both have strong dogs that pull, this has completely changed our walks now, im so happy! No more looking like my dog is walking me and no more arm and hand pain! The mouth piece did slip off a couple of times but then I just slip it right back on and go on with our walk. He did try to paw it off for the 1st min or 2 but seemed just fine for the rest of our journey. I’m so happy I can now happily extend the length of our walks and its no longer a chore but a joy!!!
Lily does not particularly like this collar but it has stopped her pulling when walking on the lead. She can get it off her nose easily but once walking it is quite secure. Can be a little fiddly when letting her run off the lead as often she is impatient to go while I am trying to fasten it round her neck. But I would recommend this to anyone who has a strong dog who pulls. Added bonus to be able to get it in purple!!!!

Very pleased so far. Seems comfortable for him to wear. No snorting due to pressure on nose as with his figure of 8 lead, which was dreadful to listen to while out walking. Only been using couple of days but shall continue and will be buying another one for our other boy as he pulls on occasions

he nose strap is attached to a proper collar so if your dog does slip his nose out you still have control
Absolutely amazing collar!! I never do reviews but had to for this! We were about to pay out a fortune in dog training for our huge 1 year old lab who was pulling me half way down the road every day and I really had no control over over him when he saw other dogs or people! This collar was like Magic! It instantly worked. He walks by my heel now and I could walk him for hours…. Occasionally if he tries to paw it off I just give him a treat but he after a week he doesn’t bother trying to get it off now… We just enjoy our walks.

Bought this for my mums miniature schnauzer..
He was uncontrollable on a normal body harness always pulling forward which would cause him to make a constant grunting noise like a pig…! He was completely comfortable we presume otherwise he would have let up, surely… but it sounded horrendous and damaging to his health..
Tried standard halti which did calm him down and he walked to a heal and calmly, however, Mum, nor I for the matter, like the way the halti yanks the dogs head to the side, looks really uncomfortable and is a completely unnatural movement…
Hallelujah…. found canny dog collar in a pet shop in Wales on a holiday, but he didn’t have the right size but the proprietor let us try the next size up and go for a stroll…… The difference was astonishing…TRULY.. it was like we were walking the most relaxed and trained dog ever..
The difference is that the design, instead of pulling to the side, it gently pulls their nose directly downward, which he doesn’t like of course so he just lets up and carries on calmly.
The collar is so easy to use.
You can wear it as a normal collar if he/she is behaving or just a SUPER SIMPLE alteration with the adjuster which creates slack at the front and you just slip the slack over the nose (all without having to detach the collar)
Super easy to use, versatile in that you can have the halti engaged or not within 20 seconds , 100% result and much more dog friendly than yanking your loved dogs head 90 degrees left or right… I think it’s a game changer for Haltis or at least should be… thanks if you got this far 🙂
Had one previously for my Weimaraner but now it’s a cocker spaniel think the nose band should have a bit of softening to it but by far the best collor you can buy we use it with a harness attached so just need to move finger forward slightly to give a little movement on double ended lead so he’s not really always on the canny collar slightest correction is all that is needed

Definitely helps control the pulling – our rescue is a big puller and the Canny has helped to keep her more under control than most collars and braces we have tried. Still puts pressure under her eye, but not as much as the head-harness style we previously had. It agitates her less too.
Considering trying it on our other dog now too to see if it assists with his pulling, which has got worse.

I’ve tried many different ways to stop pulling over the years & I have to say that this was far & away the best solution I’ve used.
Unlike similar collars that pull the head to one side due to the way it connects, this one helps you remain in control at all times.
Quality of product is exceptional in terms of stitching & materials.
After a week of using on one dog, I purchased a second collar for my other dog with similar impressive results.
Highly recommend.

I do not think I have ever given a 5 star rating so this is an exception. I have two dogs one of whom always pulls. Read reviews for Canny Collar. Yes he took it off his nose and “laughed” having done so. First time he rolled on the ground to try and take it off as per another review but realised after a few seconds that it was futile. They both quite happily have collar put on and now walk without pulling. Have recommended this collar to other people I know who have dogs who pull. Yes it does actually work within five minutes
I was doubtful if this collar would stop our lovely golden retriever from pulling. She was not raised on a lead and is a strong girl.
Until we bought this collar walking on a lead was a trial for us and our dog. The collar works really well and even a child was able to walk her with it. She does get a little irritated with the strap on her nose and tries to paw it off. But with encouragement and practice small sure she will get used to it.
Bought this for a lively dog who barks a fair bit when walking on lead. I felt the lunging made the barking worse so I reasoned that by preventing the lunging would calm him enough to reduce the barking. It worked! It doesn’t stop all the barking but it’s a darn sight better plus he walks better. Together with distraction techniques we’re working on him! It’s a lot kinder than a Halti which sadly rubbed his little face…after only a couple of uses.
What a difference this makes, ive got an old English sheepdog who’s just turned 1, he’s very strong can pull you off your feet, I’ve tried the Julius harness which is great ,but he still pulls, got a chicken and still strong with that on,its still early days with this collar but it really is good, hes not keen getting it on but we’re getting there, you don’t feel him pull at all, just a gentle pull and he stops, so glad I got it.
Abit fiddly to get on (but I do have 2 dogs that loves their walks so much, they can’t wait.) I’ve found this product and size to be good, but hasn’t stopped the pulling, eased it but it’s a work in progress (1 dog yes, 2nd dog definitly work in progress.)
Once you have wrestled your dog in to it it works a treat. My dogs are prone to fits of madness when out and about. They never fail to humiliate me and find interesting new ways to do so. However, the fight back begins in a shape of a canny collar. I let mine of leash in open spaces that don’t have obstacles (like children or other dogs). I have to wrap the lead straps round the collar when I do this but it’s still worth it to be able to walk past a person/dog/horse without the berzonkers palaver I am used to. I nearly almost like taking them out again! Jokes aside you have to persevere, it’s tricky to get on at first and the dog rub a bit to try to get it off but you really do have control
Great colour , I bought size 4 from shop for my gsd used it but really to small , so bought this one thinking I would get a size 6 just in case , should have got a size 5 , you live and learn , so if you have a gsd with a big mane i would go for a 5 , the 6 is ok round neck but straps a bit long , having bought many collars like theses in the past the canny collar is by far the best , Thank you

It’s normally a chore to walk my gsd x and when I get him my back and shoulders ache he pulls so much. Then my Canny Collar arrived, as soon as I tried it on him he lay down. I have just got back from a test run with the collar and OMG it was a joy to be out with him, at points the lead was even a little slack, he did paw at it a bit but I’m sure he will soon get used to it if it means he now gets more frequent/longer walks. Now I’m considering getting my Jack Russell a Canny to see if it can work its magic with her.
Great improvement on the halti I have been using. So delighted that I immediately ordered another one for my other dog. He was so anti the halti that he kept pulling it off and I would find that he had got the whole thing off. Not a good thing when walking the streets. This Canny collar is great because although he can get the nose band off, I still have him under control through the collar. Also overall I have more control over him, no more pulling me which in turn puts my back out. Certainly to be recommended. I have tried the rest, now I’ve got the BEST

Our german boxer is 12months old and he is taking his time with lead training. He isn’t awful but when he sees kids, dogs or motorbikes he wants to be with them asap. We have bought lots of different collars to help with his pulling but this one seems to be the only one that helps. It reduces the power of his pull so that you can manage him , now if he doesn’t have it on he can and usually does go back to how he was before but the canny collar is allowing us to heal train him without pulling our arms out of our sockets.
Best buy yet and he can’t chew it which was the problem with another make.
Dog hates this and on grass tries his best to push off, but on concrete paths he walks amazingly.
The difference is amazing. I take it off and he jumps pulls.
We walk a lot on paths, so I’m hoping he’ll forget about it, when grass comes!
Found instructions were just pictures, not very detailed, or any English writing in detail,
(Its not just plug in and it works)
So someone like my mum, on her own would have struggled.
I set box up,
it does make a difference though. Since using we no longer have streaming issues upstairs (modem downstairs)
As long as you know your WiFi passwords and have a bit of patience it works.
I 'ummed and arred' about buying this product for months as I thought it would just be another product that didn't work. How wrong I was – I only wish I had bought it sooner. It's actually a pleasure now to walk my dog on the lead, where as previously I had dreaded on lead walkers! I have total control now and don't fear being dragged down the road when my dog sees something that catches her attention! I take her for the walk now, rather than her taking me! It's now enjoyable and not exhausting!
In a word this collar is amazing. We have a very powerful Rottie who loves to rush over to other dogs when out for a walk even if the other dog is on the other side of the road. We’ve tried every collar and harness under the sun but this is the only one that works. It’s transformed our walks and she loves them all the more.

I like this, my dog hates it. I can’t say if it works or not as I couldn’t get my dog out of the front door with it on, however, my friend managed to succeed with her dog and she says it really does work and is much kinder than the halti as it does not pull the dogs head to one side.
Meanwhile my difficult spoilt brat is back in her harness. Ho hum.
lovely strong well made collar but unfortunately didnt work 4 me my dog kept doing crocodile role he hated it…could do with some sort of clasp 2 hold the back 2 straps closed closer 2 back of kneck 2 prevent him pulling his head backwards & out of it….we walked so far fine then he kept putting his head backwards so straps come over his face..then started rolling on floor….like a croc…mind you hes only 6months old…
My little Scottie is so well behaved when wearing the collar….no lunging at cats, squirrels and some other dogs….he walks well on his normal collar but this is great when I know there will be lots of dogs and other furries around…..it also takes the strain out of my back as a sudden lunge can cause problems..I had no problems when I first tried it on him,as a treat to reward him worked well ..as its not really tight on his nose I don’t think he can feel it with his Scottie beardexcept when he lunges…would recommend.

This is the best head collar we have bought yet. We rescued our 2 year old Corgi/Collie cross in April and immediately knew she was a puller. We’ve tired various head collars(halti) and harnesses(julius K9) with varying degrees of success, but this is by far the best of them all! Only wish we’d heard about it months ago!!
So far we’ve used it on three walks and immediately the difference was noticeable. At last no more pulling!!! The dog even looks more comfortable as it’s not pulling the lead past the side of her face.
I’d recommend this product to anyone who has a dog that pulls!!
We already had the Halti collar as our dog pulls (our arms out of joints!) but I was getting a bit fed up with with the design (it dangles UNDERNEATH the head) and he was constantly lifting up both paws to try to remove it as he wasn’t happy (usually whilst crossing the road) …so after 6 months of the Halti, I decided to try the Canny – the design is so much better as the excess reins are above the head and he doesn’t seem remotely bothered by the strap across his nose. It’s a bit fiddly at first (but so was the Halti) but I like the way the straps can be wrapped around the neck for off-lead running around, rather than having to remove completely (as you do with the Halti) So, so far this is considerably better than the Halti (even my husband agrees) and I would recommend this wholeheartedly…
This is my second purchase of a Canny Collar. First one was around 8-9 years ago for our Springer who would pull on a standard lead. Whilst this is OK for short walks it’s not great on long walks.
The original item has fared very well and still works perfectly. I tried our original collar on our new puppy and decided I needed to buy another.
I now walk both dogs on these collars for long walks. There is still a little reluctance on the puppy’s part and he likes to try and rub it off his nose, but because the straps loop through the collar this isn’t a major problem and you still have the dog on the lead so no danger of them escaping.
Whilst this may not be a solution for all dogs I find that it works for me and our dogs.
The new collar is a little thicker and harder to put on than the old one but it certainly looks robust and well made and I can understand the cost given the quality of the product.
Item arrived quickly and well packaged – would recommend to friends.
We have a 11 month old border collie who is just full of energy and a real nightmare on the lead. We tried other methods to try and stop her from pulling but they proofed useless. Then I came across the Canny Collar on YouTube. We thought about it before ordering it for a couple of weeks thinking it may be just another waste of money. It was getting worse to walk our dog and not something to be enjoyed. So we decided to go for it as it was now starting to affect my arm with all the pulling the dog was doing. Received the collar and also the canny lead put it on our dog and began to walk the dog expecting the worst but WHOW our dog took straight to it and walked next to me without any pulling. I now have a dog to be proud of and a real pleasure to walk. It’s a great I would also recommend the lead it’s the best I’ve had .if you are having problems with your dog pulling do not waste your money on anything other than the Canny collar.
we bought this for the first time when on holiday in keswick. it is better than halti as it doesn,t rise up near dogs eyes .having said this the previous canny did have a part that snapped after a few months. i still think its a good collar for a very lively lab who pulled when out walking. it is now much more pleasant taking dog out without constant pulling on your neck & shoulders. it arrived quickly by pos
It does work well, when its on but it comes off easily, they can push if off if the lead goes slack but if you keep the lead tight you will have a pleasant walk. I have a crossed malamute/husky so can recommend it without hesitation as its the first “stop pulling” collar/harness/lead that actually works.
I have had Canny Collars for several years. I ordered this one due to losing one. I ordered the same size, but for some reason, the sizing seems to have changed, as his one is a lot bigger than the others. The band and the collar is the same thickness, just longer, and it keeps slipping off. I am currently using it on the dog with the longest nose, so it fits a bit better. The smaller size would be no use, as it wouldn’t be sturdy enough. Does the job overall.
I was at my wits end having tried several other head collars ie figure of eight collar and the dogmatic (although the dogmatic was brilliant for my other dog). The only reason these didn’t work as my dog is not stupid and would face me and pull these off within seconds. The Canny Collar is brilliant. He cannot pull this off completely as its fastened around his neck as well but can pull it off his nose if not held firmly and is so easy to put back on. I now have control of him and he has stopped pulling and trying to jump on other dogs. I bought the size 7 as my dog is a 1 year old Newfoundland and is now 42kg and still growing. He has this collar on the tightest hole so there is still room for growth. I would recommend this to all who has a dog that pulls, jumps etc. I now look forward to walking him and not dreading it!
Can’t fault the collar. It is really well made and I expect it will last a lifetime. However, if you have the kind of dog I do they will slip it off their nose. I will try again though, maybe there is a knack to using it. It’s not too expensive so it’s worth a go at least.
I have a japanese akita who basically takes me for walk on our outings. He pulls so hard that my arms near come out of ther socket. This collar is the best thing i have ever bought! Its so much better than normal haltis or harnesses…trust me i have tried everything. At the start my dog hated it he kept trying to take it off or runs his head along the grass, sometimes he wouldnt move at all (stubborn i know) but after a few days he got used to it and now we walk side by side. HEAVEN! 🙂 i reccomend this to everyone! Great product, great quality, cheap and does exactly what it says on the box
Have bought 2 of these now. If you have a whippet I would recommend the size 1. Brother and sister whippets Juno and Jake aged 4 were a nightmare on walks, pulling, barking at other dogs, lunging at any cat they came across. The first time I used the collar I took them out seperately. Now I can take them out together and enjoy walks that I used to dread! Have used the collars for abojt 4 weeks now and they walk nicely , although not at heel, they don’t pull at all. Also has helped with the barking at other dogs. They just accept I am in control now! I know these may not work for everybody but if you have the same problems I had, give it a try. Like I said the size 2 was a little too large on the whippet and I now have the size 1. Perfect!

It was pretty straightforward to establish what size collar was needed and the ordering was no problem. It arrived as predicted in good condition. The instructions were clear and it didn’t take long to work out how to use it. We’ve had time to try to fit it once so far as we’ve only had it a couple of days. He didn’t like the strap over his nose, dropped back and pushed it off. (This does not mean the dog is free. The lead is still attached to the collar). We shall persevere as it looks to be the ideal solution to prevent pulling on the lead.
I have been using a halti on my German Shepherd for the last couple of years but found that he could still pull quite strongly when he was determined enough. I bought the Canny Collar just to see if it was any good and I love it, I have so much more control over my dog because the lead clips on behind the head instead of under the chin pulling the nose down towards his chest instead of to the side like the halti does. I would recommend this to anyone who has a large strong breed of dog to give Piece of mind that you have control It would probably help stop dogs who pull quite a lot as well.
My border terrier is very bad when out walking as she gets very excited and will lunge at any cats she sees and also sometimes other dogs. She walks perfectly well otherwise on the lead without pulling, and this collar is proving to be very good as it stops the lunging quite quickly which is what I needed as I have recently had an operation and now need to lead her using my left hand, to save the pulling on the right arm, which is a bit difficult as I am right handed. So I am very pleased with it and she didn’t seem to mind having it put on, just shook her head a bit and that was that.
I bought this after going through two others…..I replaced them not because they had broken or had become worn away, but because my Rottweiler had out grown them both! The Rottweiler is a powerful dog and this canny collar gives me great control over him. The first Canny collar i used on him was when he was a pup of six months old…I had intended to use it for a short spell just to aid his training, heel, walk, stop, turn etc. I continued to use it though as he became older and stronger, just due to the fact that on the occasions when another dog approached us off lead and aggressive the Canny collar made it far less strain on my arm when distracting my dog away. I would never be without the Canny Collar, cannot recommend highly enough as a aid to training a pup to walk/heel or to make it easier to keep a larger more robust stronger dog controlled without breaking your arms.
I have a really strong Border Collie and have tried various head collars and harnesses. Without a doubt the Canny collar works the best and he doesn’t seem to mind wearing it. I like the way that his head doesn’t get pulled to one side when he pulls as happens with other head collars. This just arches his neck and he stops pulling. The only thing I would change would be not having a buckle to do up and have a clip instead, I find it a bit awkward ,especially this time of year having to remove gloves and hold on to my other dog as well. Apart from that small criticism, I really like the Canny collar.

I’ve been using the collar for a few weeks now and our dog seems happier wearing it than her old non pull collar as it doesn’t pull her head round to one side. It is effective in stopping her from pulling. The only downside is it is a bit fiddly attaching and unattaching the straps round her neck when letting her on and off her lead.
This is the only collar/harness that really works with my German Shepherds. I find i can control them easily, without constant pulling and yanking and discomfort to the dog. And the two German Shepherds I have used them on respond well and seem very happy wearing them. Although they are well trained, they are constantly pulling ahead when we set off for walks, because they are so excited. And they are very strong dogs. Main word of advice though would be make sure you get the right size for your dog, as when they’re a little too big they tend to ride up over the dog’s eyes. Measure the neck carefully. One of my GSDs wears a size 4, the other a size 5, even though they are the same breed.
I have a German Shepherd and have been using the Canny collar for several months. Prior to getting it I used a Halti collar. The Canny Collar is much better than the Halti collar – I find it gives me much more control and reliability (the Halti slipped off once – even though it was fitted correctly). It is easy to slip the nose section off when you want to let your dog off the lead, whilst leaving the collar itself in place – not possible with the Halti. I also used to find that the Halti rubbed a bald patch on my dog’s nose, because she pulled so much – this doesn’t happen with the Canny collar. It is well constructed and comfortable for my dog. It’s an excellent product and I highly recommend it. One word of advice – don’t connect the lead to the carabiner clips (these are for when you let your dog off lead and need to clip the nose loop out of the way) – the lead should be clipped to the D loops which the carabiner clips are attached to (this will make sense if you get the collar). I accidentally connected the lead to the carabiner clips once and the lead came off (breaking the clip in the process).
