The Casio Collection Unisex Adults Watch A168WA is a true standout in its simplicity and functionality. It’s impressively lightweight, so you barely feel it on your wrist. Moreover, it’s remarkably thin, adding to its comfort.
What’s more, this watch is a style statement that earns you compliments from others. Despite its affordable price, it outshines expensive digital watches, which often require frequent battery changes. This timepiece, on the other hand, has been ticking along for almost a year without needing a battery replacement.
In summary, the Casio Collection Unisex Adults Watch A168WA is an excellent choice for those who appreciate a lightweight, stylish, and long-lasting accessory that doesn’t break the bank. It’s a testament to both form and function in a simple and affordable package.
This watch is cheap and cheerful. It looks and feels exactly like you would expect but having used it for over 6 months now, the battery is going strong, it doesn’t lose time and it sits pretty flush to my wrist unlike a lot of bulky modern watches.
Been having a bit of trouble adjusting the strap, as it keps going slack. Casio unique apparently, so the search continues but this watch has been absolutely fantastic. Keeps really excellent time, and is a great talking point every time someone see’s it. Does the exact same job as a 10,000 Rolex, and doesn’t have the same risk of theft as one either. Highly recommended, and will buy again if I can’t sort the strap out. Probably wouldn’t cost me much more doing that tbh!
I was a little apprehensive about buying a retro watch, would it be too small? would it be poor quality? Safe to say I was really happy with my purchase. It fits my wrist well, yes it’s not massive but watches don’t have to be. It brought all the memories back of being at secondary school in the 80s and 90s. Happy with the quality, feels like it will last. Had many comments on wearing the watch, people like the retro look and it’s not showing off how much money you have (or borrowed from the bank!). Quality watch that has value for money. The watch was easy to setup, couple of button presses and the date and time was set. Had to quickly change the strap to fit my wrist, this was just using a flat head screwdriver to loosen the clip, move down the strap and push it back. Took a minute or two as no instructions but easy to work out how. Really happy buyer!
Although the watch looked genuine I returned it because I didn’t receive the model in the pictures. The one I received was the one with wr printed between the water resist text and it also didn’t have the letter u under the blue line framing the face of the watch. Again everything else looked genuine, I just wanted the exact model in the pictures.
Standard delivery was very fast so problems there.
One minor inconvenience was when returned it using ups, the instructions tell you to print out couple of documents but when I took it to the ups drop off, I was told I needed 3 copies of the invoice which was not mentioned in the return instructions. The teturn and the refund was confirmed very quickly which is a plus.
If you don’t mind the couple of visual differences I think the watch itself was quite nice and I would recommend it.
I’ve had a few Casio watches over the years and this one’s been great great far. I bought this one around the end of October 2018 so coming up 3 years old at the time of writing this review.
It looks nice and feels good enough on my wrist. The design hasn’t changed much since it’s release.
I use this watch a fair ammount, its one of my ‘general’ watches I use and apart from a few scratches and marks, it’s held up well.
The waterproofing on the watch is good and has held up in the rain and whatnot. I will also add that the battery so far is still going strong although its supposed to last around 10 years.
The timekeeping on the watch isn’t bad, it’s lost about 7 seconds of time over the last 6 months or so. The LCD is nice and clear to read too and the LED light is much better than the one on other models, I can see the time perfectly in the dark.
I will say, the only criticisms I have are that it can get a little uncomfortable at times especially when the wrist strap catches the hairs on your arms and the clasp on mine has become a little dodgy over time. (It doesn’t quite clasp as well anymore)
Still, a great little watch for a good price! It has gone up in price since I bought it but not by a huge amount.
This is functionality identical to the classic f91w except for one important improvement. The f91w has a terrible backlight. This has an excellent full screen illuminator backlight.
Otherwise, it is much improved with the stainless steel strap. Note the watch case is silver coated resin, not stainless steel. Also, the illuminator light means the case is thicker than the f91.
The strap is easily adjusted by lifting the catch where the arrow is using a small screwdriver, sliding it along, then pushing it down again. Note when fastening the watch that you have to hook the strap in first before pushing the clasp down, otherwise it will fall off your wrist.
Mine is accurate to 0.1 seconds a day, so mine is much better than the Casio rating of plus or minus 30 seconds a month.
It’s a much improved version of the f91, but it costs over 20 pounds where the f91 is under a tenner. It depends what you want.
Had a cheap plastic casio as a kid. best watch I ever owned. For about 20 I’m very happy with this one as an adult and expect it to last me a good ten years at least. It’s good to see quality products still in production.
The stainless steel band looks nice and sleek, professional. Compared to other budget metal watch straps it’s obviously of a much higher quality.
Adjusting the strap and clasp is quite simple, you will simply need a small lever like a kitchen knife to pry it open, reposition it in the correct place for your wrist size, close it and you’re done. The clasp itself is quite secure and once sized to your wrist provides a nice snug and comfortable fit.
I’ve had a Casio of some form or another on my wrist for going on 15 years now, and the A168 is the latest one to join the lineup. It replaces an ageing A163 which is missing a screw on the case-back and isn’t water-proof enough any more.
Having used the A168 for a while now, I love the electro-luminescence. I’ve never had an issue with the side-light of other classic models, but this takes it up a whole notch. It’s so bright that I have, in a pinch, used it as a small torch for rummaging about on my bed-side table in pitch darkness.
I did find the strap on this particular Casio a little ‘pinchy’ at first. My trusty old A163 has a similar strap and rarely, if ever, caught a hair. I think that wearing these watches in helps greatly and now I’ve worn the watch for a while the pinching has stopped (and don’t worry, I’ve not plucked my arm bare!)
The watch case definitely feels bigger than other Casios I’ve had (F91, W59, A163). Sure, the case is plastic and that may not be to everyone’s taste, but that’s just how they are. It will get scuffed and start to look worse-for-wear if you bash it about.
Nowadays I have a few different watches, but I always find time to have my Casio on. This is the watch I wear when I just want things to work.
It’s my “no worries” watch, and I would buy an A168 again in a heartbeat if something happened to this one.
bought this watch from Amazon 2 years ago. Only writing the review now as I’m looking to buy another one after giving my first one to my sister after she said how nice it was. Wish I hadn’t.
I’ve used it quite roughly and it barely has a mark on it. I regularly used it for timing my runs and have taken it swimming and regularly in the hot tub. It hasn’t missed a beat. Got paint on it whilst decorating and it was easy to scrub off using scourer without damaging the watch. Looks pretty stylish on my wrist. I own a few watches including a casio Edifice and have to say the A168 is the best looking in my opinion with people commenting how good it looks with the retro styling.
I would recommend this one over the other retro looking casio watches purely for the fact it the back light is the best. It’s styling has the retro appeal with a slight more modern take. The metal strap is unlikely to break compared to the resin straps. It’ll stand out more. I wish I hadn’t give my original one away.
Was unsure after reading a few early reviews that suggested this might not be the genuine article – I needn’t have worried!
All the little details are there to indicate that this is an authentic Casio watch and given the price, I couldn’t be happier.
It looked a little on the small size when I first opened it, but having been conditioned in an era of ‘oversized’ men’s dress watches, this actually a refreshing change. It is light, comfortable and understated – exactly what I wanted.
Although you can tell this is a remake of the original (the case is metallic covered resin, not stainless steel), to the untrained eye this is every bit as good as the Casios from the 70’s and 80’s. The display is sharp and clear, the alarm and stopwatch function work perfectly and the backlight – while a little fiddly – is excellent.
If I were forced to find a fault, it is that the watch strap is gradually plucking all the hairs from my wrist – which could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your point of view!
All in all, a great buy.
I bought this watch for my dad, as a Birthday present, and he loves. He had one back in the 80’s when he was 10, and he said that not much had changed!
The watch ordered within two days, (so one day before expected delivery), which was great.
It came in a thin cardboard box, which contained the watch (in a plastic bag) and some instructions. It didn’t quite fit around his wrist, so a couple of links had to be removed. I went down to a local Watch shop, and the man running it, removed 2 links for no charge, as it only took him 20 seconds, which is a bonus
The actual watch itself is a nice fit around the wrist, and also has a nice feel to it too (Feels expensive!) It is very easy to change the time, and also has the day eg Mon, Tue, Wed etc. If you press the button on the side, you get a stopwatch which I handy and also an alarm. The only negative about the alarm is that it only has one alarm sound, but it does the job!
It is not waterproof, but for 15, you can grab yourself a bargain!
I would definitely recommend the seller.

Like some reviewers have suggested, when I first opened the box and tried the watch on, I was struck by how small it seemed. I even double checked the product page to make sure I hadn’t ordered a child or ladies size. I was sure these were much bigger when I was at school in the 80s. But then I thought about it. Apart from the obvious phenomenon of objects generally seeming larger to the eyes and hands of a child, men’s watches have also undeniably become huge over the last decade or two. I’ve got a Diesel watch who’s face is easily double the size of this casio for instance. It may be that these re-issues are slightly smaller than originals, but equally possible that we have just become used to much larger mens watches.
Either way, once over the shock, I love this watch and it makes a refreshing changes to wear a watch that hardly feels like its there, rather than a lead weight, swinging about my wrist. I’m certainly glad I bought it and at this price the nostalgia alone is a bargain, nevermind the fact you are getting a really nice, sleek, trustworthy, everyday watch.
This is a statement watch just as much as a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller chronometer but you won’t be able to dive to 4000 feet. However that is not the point of this watch. When you see this watch on the wrist of a man you know he is the kind of man you want to be near when things need fixing. He doesn’t pretend to be a diver or a pilot (I’m talking to you Breitling Cockpit B50 Night Mission wearer) but is probably able to walk the dog in the morning, fix that leaking tap in the afternoon and still have enough energy to drink a few beers in the evening.
The Casio is a slim tool for the man whose wrist follows where his hand goes. It takes the knocks and keeps going, although over time some of the buttons will cease to work, he knows that nothing in life is perfect, so forgives it and remains loyal to it.
If I may put forward a slice of personal philosophy I feel that this watch is the opposite of the flashy hulk of a statement sports watch which is a beacon to all of your naked consumerism. This is no bauble to compete with the other locker room or sports bar heroes. No, this watch tells the world that you have removed yourself from that particular competition. So strap it on and be comfortable with the man you are.
This replaced an identical watch which did me good service for the last ten years or so (eventually
the posts holding the strap gave out through wear).
This is a classic digital design. The alarm is useful when travelling, the face is easy to read
even without the backlight, the stainless steel strap is infinitely more durable and better looking
than a resin strap (and can be adjusted very precisely), it keeps the time well,
the battery lasts almost indefinitely (I don’t think I ever changed the battery in the previous one),
and it’s waterproof. I have taken the previous one snorkelling and never remove it in the shower etc.
It’s also cheap enough that you don’t need to worry about losing or damaging it. I looked for a better one but
decided I’d need to spend at least three times the price to get something that could match
it in an analogue form (and maybe ten times or more), so what’s the point!
I don’t think I have ever used the stopwatch function, but otherwise it’s a masterpiece of functional design.
Not too complicated, and all the features you really need. If you’re not wedded to the idea of an analogue
face, this is a great watch.
I have an unhealthy physical attraction to this watch. I’ll freely admit when it arrived today, that I opened the packet, and deeply inhaled the late seventies style packaging and warranty booklet such was my excitement – As I closed my eyes and cleared my head, I swear I could smell the early eighties.
You see, as a child at the early stages of secondary school when these first came out, there was always that one rotund kid whose parents were able to afford the latest new-fangled technological advancements in horology. And whilst I returned from school holidays with the red LCD version of the early digital watches (where you had to press the button to illuminate the time), the overweight rich kid had this version. Scuppered again it seems. With my imitation Kickers on I got back on the bus that day dreaming of how, when I finally made my millions I’d be able to afford the next big thing – The calculator version. Not through greed or avarice mind – I just loved the futuristic qualities of this beauty.
I’m certainly no millionaire, and doubt I’ll ever be, but with the passing of time I’m finally there. Grab yourself one of these gems. They’re now affordable to us mere plebian blue collar workers nowadays. I’m still not quite there yet mentally to progress to that next stage of Casio ownership, the calculator version, but maybe one day. For now they’re for the fat children of diplomats and government whips – The important people of this world who the likes of you and I can only longingly stare at through the rainsoaked tinted glass of their limos, as they demand we desist from staring at them. (He says as he doffs his cap, twirling in both hands as he looks at the floor).
Oh I love my Casio.
