Being tall I have real issues with cooker hoods because they’re invariably positioned right at my forehead height and while looking down at the pots on the stove I don’t notice and bang my head on them – repeatedly! Wearing chunky spec’s with frames that obscure my view of low-flying cooker hoods doesn’t help either but enough about me. We needed a new cooker hood so switching to this style of unit seemed like a good idea and it has been, so far so good and a pain-free forehead.
This COMFEE’ 60cm is a neat straight swap for an existing hood and although the faux chimney is a different width from its predecessor it’s worked out fine because this one is slightly wider and covered the paint mark. We’re installing this one as an extractor rather than recirculating fan and so it had to attach to the existing hose and that was a minor problem. The exhaust hose on this hood is about 150mm and our vent pipe is about 120mm so we needed a simple adaptor from the local builder’s merchant. It’s reasonably straightforward to assemble and hang, as long as you take the time to mark and drill precise and perfectly level fixing holes and the included instruction walk you through that.
It’s fitted with a moulded plug but that can be cut off and the unit can be wired directly into a fused faceplate if that’s what you have. The noise level is as annoying as most cooker hoods but no worse and you put up with it because the air extraction is really decent and it does shift steam and cooking smells effectively. The angled shape is so much better for taller people and give more sense of space above the hob. The black glass was chosen to match some other fittings planned for the kitchen and once finished should look great. I’m using this hob above a similarly-styled COMFEE’ black glass hob and they look great together but I wish I’d chosen the all-glass version of the hood rather than this one which features stainless steel strips at the top and bottom. It looks fine, but the all-black one might look better and it has the same suction power and it’s significantly cheaper!
good price and looks very modern.
everything there that was required including some extra filters although i haven’t been able to find any replacements on a quick search.
unfortunately after unpacking and manoeuvring it wasn’t going to fit in our kitchen (we are moving soon so hopefully install it there) however on wiring it up it seems to work great and have all the functions you need.
suction seemed powerful.
This 60cm angled cooker hood is a great addition to any kitchen. It efficiently removes smoke and odors while adding a touch of style with its sleek design.
I am very satisfied with this cooker hood. It has powerful suction and is easy to clean, making cooking and cleaning up a breeze. Plus, its angled design adds a modern and unique look to my kitche
I really found that this is a sleek and powerful cooker hood that effectively removes smoke, steam, and cooking odors from your kitchen. Its multiple speed settings and relatively quiet operation made it a great addition to my kitchen. The stainless steel finish and LED lights gives a satisfying modern and stylish look. Overall, I think it’s a great value for the price and has made cooking in my kitchen much more enjoyable
At the moment, this is still sitting in the box as I am unable to install it just now. Our walls have wimpey no fines non standard construction so a regular drill just won’t go through the wall. We have several holes to testify to this so have given up until we can buy an SDS drill. The cooker hood looks amazing and quite high tech. I like the fact you can install it without the need of a wall vent leading outside. The instructions were complex at first so took a few reads to fully understand. It’s good value for money compared to other similar items.
This cooker hood from Comfee is smart, modern and clean looking. Well designed and made from premium materials and, well it appears to be robust and durable, it is surprisingly lightweight and easy to fit. Simple touch controls make it very easy to operate i.e., LED light on/off, fan speed +/- (three speeds), and power. When off, touching the power symbol once starts the fan at speed 1, the selected speed is displayed between the — and + symbols, touching the + and — symbols changes the speed 1, 2 or 3. When on, touching the power symbol once will turn off the fan after about three minutes, during this period the symbol will flash. Touching the power symbol twice (or a second time while it is flashing) will turn the extractor off immediately. This soft (delayed) shutdown is great as it continues to clear the area of fumes and odours after you have finished cooking and then turns off automatically. The toughened black glass surface looks great and, of course, is very easy to keep clean with a quick wipe. What we particularly like is the cleverly designed grease filter, it is easily accessed from the front by simply pulling the glass panel forward and upwards to reveal the filter behind. The special five-layer filter is made from aluminium and can be cleaned in a dishwasher, so very easy to keep grease free and no more messy, inefficient, disposable filters to have to change and buy. Using the provided 150mm duct, the extracted air can be ducted to the outside. Alternatively, the air can be reconditioned through the provided charcoal filters and recirculated back into the room. The unit comes with all necessary fittings fixings including brackets, screws, duct, filters, adjustable exhaust cowl (chimney), a practical wall drilling template, and an excellent installation and operating manual. This is a very nicely designed, quality built, cooker hood and is, I think, pretty good value. I am intending to install this to replace our existing old-fashioned pull-out cooker hood which sits between adjacent wall cupboards, I foresee no difficulties or issues other than connecting to an existing 125mm duct which is easily remedied by purchasing a 150mm to 125mm reducer for the current online price of about 1.95. I will post an updated review once I have finished the installation.
Great cooker hood the only down fall is when you get the package deal with the filters they don’t fit so that’s a waste of money and now time as I can’t find them anywhere.
This is a great looking cooker hood that’s versatile as it can be vented to outside or just recirculated if it can’t be vented for outside, 60cm wide, touch screen is nice and responsive and it has good suction. Only thing I’ve had an issue with is the charcoal filters that came with it so not fit within this model. And the front opening could maybe open wider to give better access. But I do really like it once it’s up it looks great nice and fashionable and not to bad a price so would recommend.
I’m happy to far with this extractor just fitted it today. Caution if fitting to plasterboard do not use supplied plugs and screws use plasterboard specific ones.
The drilling template was an excellent touch in the box. The actual instruction booklet was poor imo
Follow the video in the pictures of the product page on Amazon which is the best at following to fit the product.
The product looks nice and a lot more expensive than it is. Overall my wife is happy with i
Smart looking extractor unit.
Not too noisy, works well.great value.
Being pretty tall I discovered the slanted rangehoods a few years ago; the integrated pull out extractors often block my sight, especially those burners at the back of the stove. Not with this type of design. Unfortunately they are hard to find in Australia, or for exorbitant prices. They seems to be quite common in eg Germany or Poland and prices are beyond believe low. Hence I ordered this hood with amazon UK and even with the high postage costs (more than the rangehood itself) I couldn’t find anything remotely comparable in Australia.
Having said that, for its price the Comfee’ rangehood exceeded my expectation. The unit is well finished, and compared with similarly priced rangehoods such as the VidaXL slanted one, better finished (eg less sharp pieces of metal).
I like the little transparent edging on the glass’ outside, gives it a more luxurious impression.
However, it appears that, with all range hoods in the lower price bracket, you cant expect too much from the build-in lights: they’re mostly small, cold and low lumens; basically unusable if you need to depend on them to light your stove to do some decent cooking.
I have solved it by adding a 30cm warm white, dimmable light strip bought at a local hardware store (Aud 30.00). I connected it with the existing wiring/power supply and disconnected the standard light. I guess that ends my factory warranty, but I rather have this better light than worry about the warranty. The rangehood doesnt break the bank anyway.
The box comes with a 1:1 template that is roughly correct, however I have just taken the measurements and attached it accordingly. Putting the actual hood on the printed template showed a misalignment of a 5-6 mm at one side.
Suction is better than I expected and the noise levels are acceptable. I have installed it in recirculation mode and added a carbon filter – can be ordered in Aus, A$16 for 2. From experience, each filter lasts 3-4 months, depending on cooking. I noticed that when you leave rangehoods with active carbon filters running for 4-5 minutes after you’ve turned off the stove, they last longer / stay fresh longer.
Easy to install. Got this to replace an existing cooker hood and so had the electrics in place. Had to make minor adjustments, but not a problem
I have only needed to use level1 comes with 3 as the suction is brilliant. It’s loud but I’m overlooking that as it doing the job. As my old fan used to send the steam out in to the kitchen setting the smoke alarm off. I am definitely recommending this.
I bought this 2 pack along with the cooker hood and I am really impressed with the difference it makes whilst cooking. I would certainly recommend i
The hood is a very attractive item in the kitchen. Very easy to use and has strong suction power. The hood is loud but not unbearable.
I would highly recommend this item
Fitted it myself but as it is quite heavy and the glass front drops forward it’s a bit tricky. Need a good solid wall to fix to I think.
Pleased with it and less than 100. Not used much so can’t say about reliability etc.
Bit sceptical as I’d never heard of the manufacturer before.
Been installed for 4 months and works great. Looks great and is easy to clean. Fan suction works fine through the tract ducting. (Can’t comment on filter usage).
Easy to install with the template provided and just plug in. Highly recommended!
Looks good, bit fiddly to install, all good so far.
Pre-Arrival:
When shopping for this unit I needed to know Chimney Dimensions but could not find them, even manufacturer did not respond with sizes. Would it have been so difficult to provide basic unit dimensions? I have measured and added an image for others reference. I had to eyeball from photos and sketches before ordering the unit because I knew it would be tight but it all worked out, it almost looks made for my space – knowing dimensions in advance would have been much easier though.
Installation:
The unit installed fairly easily, had to cut off the 3-Pin UK plug to hard wire but that was simple, there was about 1.5m of cable. Lucky I already had a reducer for the 150mm dia exhaust from the unit which easily popped on and then connected to my 120mm flexible exhaust duct. A paper template was supplied for wall fixing with all dimensions clearly marked, I didn’t use the template but handy to have. Just pre-drill 5 holes, attach the mounting bracket (simple to attach to the wall with 3 supplied fixings), hook the unit on then remove the grease filter and lock the unit in place with 2 more supplied screws (I would normally use a torque drill to screw in but space was a bit tight, so used a hand screwdriver – no problem really). After removing the old unit it was about a 1 Hr Job but it could easily be done in 30 mins if necessary.
Function:
Looks great, gives a much more modern look than my previous Stainless Steel brasserie style hood. I wasn’t sure how the black glass would look but I’m really happy. It is a small kitchen and the mirror effect of the glass helps create a feeling of more space and the angle design opens up the hob area. Until you find the touch power button nothing is illuminated so it can be a bit tricky to find the On button, once on the unit has an LED downlight (toggled on-off by a touch button) which is OK but not great, gives a slightly blue light which is quite appealing in my view. Activate the fan with the + touch button and select one of 3 settings, reduce the speed with the – touch button and that’s about it. In operation the fan is not too noisy, Like all extractors, you can clearly hear it but no worse than my previous unit. During boiling and frying it was clear the unit was working, there is no need to “open” the glass panel (that is only for access to the grease filter) during operation, the fan sucks up through the gap between the fan housing unit and the glass panel. I saw other reviews with pots boiling and steam everywhere, which was concerning, but I use a lid when boiling (to conserve energy) and when I removed a lid from a pot of boiling potatoes I could clearly see the extractor was working. I would keep windows and doors closed when using any small domestic extractor because they struggle with cross drafts. The manufacturer claims 440CMH on Amazon but also states 320CMH, I am guessing it might be more like 320, there was no specification in the manual. The unit has a neat delayed shutdown mode which allows you to shut off the unit and it will run for a short period – great for getting rid of any lingering odours while letting you get out the kitchen and not have to return.
Overall:
For the price, this looks to be a great unit for a small kitchen. It works as well as my old unit, that died after 10 years, and the new unit is a fraction of the price. Time will tell how it stands up to rigorous domestic use, hopefully it will be another 10 years (or more) until a need to do another Cooker Hood review.
I read other reviews saying difficult to fit. It’s very easy to fit, just measure the distance from the bottom to the holes in the back where the bracket will go then measure that on your wall. Also looks very modern and sleek really makes my kitchen look great, and it actually does a great job too.
It’s the best thing that I bought it’s worth the money
Bit of a nightmare putting it up for a novice D.I.Y project but managed it looks fantastic works brilliant just be mindful on the instructions it doesn’t tell you to fit two filters (if your using them that you buy separately) but you have to fit both on to it eirther side of moto
found this item quite easy to install , also looks great maybe a little loud on the highest setting but apart from that a great item
Could not believe the auction power of the extractor and also easy to clean as it is glass
Modern, sleek design which does the job it should do. Easy to clean with good suction.
Looks nice though quite loud. Light is nice for evening/night without needing kitchen spots on.
Love this have had other extractors in past this is very modern matches my kitchen easy to use
Bought this to replace older 1 that was stainless steel this in black looks the biz what a difference to the look of my kitchen.
This is my 2nd unit the first 1 was so noisy I thought it was a jet engine in the kitchen but amazon exchanged it and my new one is 100% better its heave
Looks really smart. Especially when the lights on. It was very easy to install. To use you have to pull the front panel vertical and switch it on with the touch screen button on the front.
It has three different extraction speeds. We’ve only ever used number one. I would definitely recommend this product for the price.
Really a good looking angled hood, I was supposed to buy another one , but when I found this,I was immediately attracted by its outstanding appearance. Anyway the performance which is more important, it also surprised me , strong suction, multiple speed ,and touch screen control. moreover,Comfee hood is applicable to both the duct out type and the internal recirculation type but only one drawback is that we need to make seperate purchase of carbon filter, and also if engery saving can make a bit improve, that wouldn’t be any better.
We previously had a chrome flat extractor which at first looked great but had loads of drawbacks, the top of the extractor kept being filled with rubbish and got very dusty and the chrome just ended up with loads of fingerprints, so after it started playing up we decided to make a bit of a design change.
This new hood fits in well with our existing modern kitchen , the angle on it stops most of the dust from settling and the fascia is really easy to wipe clean to get rid of fingerprints.
the design is actually slightly different to any i’ve seen previously, mainly due to the fact that it has a glass outer rim which i hadn’t noticed on the pic but shows up nicely in person and makes a nice feature, the angled extraction part is nice as it means you can lean in over food being cooked without banging your head like i used too if you’re reasonably tall too.
You will need to find some spare carbon filters to go into it but these are easy enough to source from measuring them in situe but other than that i’ve not had any issues with it at all and enjoy the design change.
