I had a brevelle one initially and after year the coating had come off and design was not great so I replaced it with this more expensive one and have to say you can see the difference in design and build.
The design is great with raised edges so the cheese etc does not leak over in the heat elements and the coating is much thicker (I always use non scratch spondge)
The build is solid with can feel the quality difference.
This is the best toasting machine we have used. It is so easy to clean because you can remove the hot plates and it makes thick toasties too.
Had one of these toastie before love it because it toasts the larger bread such as Warburton toastie larger loaf. Unlike other toastie that only fit small loaves in.
Cooks quickly and evenly and makes the perfect cheese and ham toastie. Best we’ve ever had and we have had a few over the years.

Fits real sized bread easily. Can fill with fillings to your hearts content. Never need to force the lid shut, very easy to clean and operate. Plates click out with a button. Feels sturdy and high quality.

The 2 main gripes about this machine seem to be people cant find bread to fit, the slices are too small. I agree but having used it for a month or so it has not presented as a problem, sometime a little leaks out, sometimes not. I do use toastie bread as its a bit thicker.
The other main problem is that the handle breaks off. I cannot comment on that side of it. But because of the number of people commenting on this issue I have modified the way I close the lid by pushing down on the top as I squeeze the handles. I hope this will work. The cooking side of the machine is very satisfactory and its a doddle to clean with the removable plates.
Works very well, does what is supposed to do. But watch out when you clean it, the top section of the heating plate is prone to falling off. The catch mechanism is very basic and doesn’t hold the plate in place when almost closed/ closed meaning you might not be able to get at your sandwich until it cools down. There was no damage done during cleaning it is just poor design.
What can I say, amazing technology, makes the best toasties, fits your Warbutons bread nicely without having to cut any crust off. Non stick and cleans like a dream.
This was a replacement for a succession of cheap

I haven’t used this as yet but gave it all 5 stars on each as I have had one for years and we love it. It’s not the cheapest on the market but you pay for what you get.
This was returned to Cuisinart and they have sent it back in working order so I have given it 4 stars partly based on good customer service. I just hope it lasts a bit longer this time.
After plenty of research reading indipendant reviews as one does these days.. I finally ordered it. I was was however encouraged by the fact that I already have a Cuine Art toast maker that was gifted to me buy a close friend. Received it on time and as described. I have only had it for a few days however I have made plenty of cheese toasties. The bread is toasted evenly, golden brown and cheese sealed in and melted nicy. Lovely little machine and like all things, I will take care of it so that it takes care of me. It looks and feels durable and reliable as I’d expect from Cuisine Art. So far I feel it’s a great buy.
I am very satisfied with this product. Highly recommend it!

The actual toasting is excellent as is the temperature control. I had a toasties machine years ago & cheese got everywhere, but this contains the cheese or whatever filling you have well contained.
I would strongly recommend this product except for the dishwasher claims & in my opinion are false.
The best toastie maker I have found so far. Good temperature control, always produces an excellent sandwich. Easily removable plates for cleaning. Just remember not to use a metal spatula or the inner surface will easily scratch.

Alles ist komplett auseinander zu nehmen, und jede Toast/ Brot/ Bagel-Art kann genutzt werden.
Nur weil man das Gert zerlegen kann, sollte man nicht mit harten Gert schrubben.
Nutzt lediglich einen sanften Lappen- oder Kchentuch, und es hlt Jahre.
Meiner ist tglich im Einsatz und wir haben ihn schon lange und keinerlei Probleme.

Works brilliantly – Excellent Quality So easy to clean – Best we have ever used
I purchased my machine 3 years ago and use it almost every day. Initially I was getting tired of cleaning it but on a visit to the supermarket noticed Bacofoil had started selling Non-Stick foil. So I tear off about 16 inches (40cm) of foil and assemble my toastie on the foil (dull side), then fold the foil in half and place inside the preheated machine for about 2 minutes (medium heat). Once done discard the foil for safe food hygiene reasons. No mess in the preparation and no need to clean the hot plates. Finally I use virgin olive on my bread but it works equally well with butter. Five stars using the foil but only three when not – too much cleaning involved.

The very best sandwich maker that I have ever purchased (and I have gone through loads)
Easy to use and clean and makes fab sandwiches on all types of bread.
This is a well-built sandwich toaster, with removable non-stick plates which make it all the easier to keep clean. It alsp has multiple heat settings, although in truth we always use medium. I think it’s the same as (or very similar to) the Waring WOSM1U 2 Slice Deep Fill Sandwich Toaster, except that it has a slightly longer guarantee than the Waring, and more stainless steel. I’ve read some comments about size of the palates being a little bit large to seal bread effectively, and I agree with this up to a point. But I find it’s okay with a larger 800g loaf. All in all, we’re very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to others.

This really is a great sandwich toaster. We have had this item for a number of years now during this time it as proved to be an reliable kitchen implement. Love the removable none stick plates this is the main reason we bought this toaster for.

So why only 4 stars?
The build quality of this sandwich maker leaves a lot to be desired. After one use the catch that holds the bottom plate in place had come loose and would not retain the plate correctly so back it went.
But here is the thing. I brought my Cuisinart sandwich maker from John Lewis which means great service, no quibbling and a 5 year guarantee.
So here’s the bottom line. If you live reasonably close to John Lewis and you are willing to return and replace your sandwich maker whenever it breaks then here’s what you need to do:
1. Purchase Cuisinart sandwich maker from John Lewis
2. Take it home and unpack it from its box
3. Place all packing back in the box with the carrier bag and receipt
4. Store box somewhere safe
You are now going to have 5 years of awesome toasties, omelettes, calzones, quesadillas and fruit pies with the occasional hassle of having to box up your sandwich maker to get it replaced for a brand new one.
The alternative is to buy a different sandwich maker that won’t make as good toasties and will probably only last 3 years max anyway!

Arrived well packed in good time a bit expensive but gets rid of that dreaded cleaning as the plates removed to go in the dishwashe
Only downside is you need large squares of bread to fit each square hotplate. Standard square loaf isn’t big
enough and you end up with filling being squished out of the sides by the triangle shaped edges!

I bought this because my husband likes toasted sandwiches and it’s better than trying to make them in bags in the toaster.
the only drawback is it is heavily constructed and has to live in a cupboard, as I don’t have room on the worktops.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes toasted sandwiches.

my personal opinion on this sandwich toaster is A1+ rather expensive i thought at first but what made my mind up was the removable and replacable plates also so very easy to clean after use so you tend to use it more and also get a little adventurous with your toasties etc etc
years ago we had a breville toaster and although we enjoyed the product, we hated cleaning it and eventually threw it out. after reading a review that said the plates were now removeable, we have got one – it’s brilliant.

I don’t generally write reviews but as there have been many negative reviews, felt compelled to do so as I don’t agree with many of them. As far as I’m concerned it makes great toasties every time. It doesn’t stick, the handle hasn’t fallen off and it’s really easy to clean. I have a Cuisinart Ice cream maker, which has been very reliable so bought this sandwich maker as I thought it looked solid and reliable- and it is. It also takes a good size slice of bread, which some of the others don’t.
A good functional machine, the control switch could be a more positive and robust, apart from that it does the business
I bought this sandwich maker a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I have had a few sandwich makers before, but they were always difficult to keep clean and they didn’t allow for deep-filled sandwiches. This Cuisinart model definitely fits the bill. The plates are easy to remove, clean and replace. I make my own bread, and the sandwich maker copes perfectly with the variable sized slices I cut. We stopped having toasted sandwiches because we just couldn’t keep our old sandwich maker clean. Toasties are now definitely back on the menu with this new sandwich maker.
Really happy with this toasty maker. My partner uses it lots. It’s really easy to clean. The only downside is finding bread big and square enough to fit into it!!!!

Sprayed plates with olive oil and wiped over with a kitchen towel and left to heat up
Made Cheese and Tomato toasties and coated both sides of bread with Clover (fake butter)
No sticking, sealed all round fantastic toasties. Any burnt bits just wiped off the plates with the oil soaked kitchen towel.
It feels sturdy and hard wearing and even if the handle clip does snap it looks like it will still make the toasties.
Much better value than the cheapo supermarket own brand plastic versions that have food and drip traps all over them.
I will review again in a few months
Can accept over-stuffed sandwiches as stated. Would still rate this better than others seen on the shelf.
Looking forward to fully enjoying my purchase once I can find a baker to bake a larger loaf.
So…….why 4 stars and not 5?……….
Unfortunately one of the plates lost a smal fingenail size piece of the teflon(?) coating after only about half a dozen uses. This does not seem to have impaired the performance, but may do if the loss spreads.
We contacted Cuisinart about 3 weeks ago and they immediately promised to replace the plates, but as yet this has not happened, they are awiting delivery of spares. Presumably Christmas/New Year and the snow has/will cause delays.
In summary we are very pleased with the Cuisinart overstuffed sandwich maker, toasties are a joy to make now.
As for the sandwiches, they always come out fully toasted and sealed, no sticking soggy sandwiches with this beauty. I’ve made the usual cheese toasties with ham etc and also beans and cheese etc etc etc, all great.
The removable plates initially put me off as our George foreman grill has removable plates and it doesn’t work as well as our small old one which was used to death. But no worries here it heats up quickly and has performed very well up to now.
