Fantastic to look at and great value for money, they will last years
y comfortable to use, stay sharp and take the effort out of chopping.
How good is Damascus steel? Absolutely brilliant. They feel good in your hand. Don’t need much pressure and you cut so fine it’s amazing. Definitely recommend these
lovely looking knives,well made,very sturdy handles,worth the money
This is the first time I’ve spent over a 100 on a set of kitchen knives and I have to admit I was dubious about the value.
Having said that I’m glad I went through with it. They arrived very well packaged and once I’d put the knives in the block the first thing I noticed is just how good they look. The quality of the workmanship cannot be faulted and they look and feel remarkably sturdy and well balanced and actually quite heavy.
A word of caution, however. They arrived sharp and they stay sharp; we’ve both managed to cut ourselves on them.
After using this set of knives for some time, we are really pleased with them. The knives add incredibly well-made, and have a good weight. Most importantly, they are very sharp indeed. Lesser knives struggle at cutting meat especially, but there is no sign of these here; the larger knives go through both red and white meat with ease.
All in all, this is a really good quality set. After a decent amount of use they are showing that they will also last a long time and be durable. Definitely five stars.
This nine piece kitchen knife set (Model No: NF-D0601T) are made by Nanfang Brothers. They arrive well packed and presented in a large cardboard box.
I am no knife expert, nor a metallurgist, so I can not speak to the claims made about the quality of the steel used in these knives. I did research to see if there was an easy way to test the claims or the authenticity of the Damascus Steel, but despite what some people say, it seems the truth is there is no way to tell just by looking. Instead you need to sand the metal down and immerse it in acid, something I am in no way qualified to do.
What I can say is I found these knives to be very sharp and robust, and the have remained so during the time I have been using them so far.
The knives themselves look really nice. They all feel good in the hand and are well balanced. I haven’t used them to try to do anything out of the ordinary, but they have all proved their worth in the kitchen for normal everyday food preparation.
The “kitchen scissors” also worked well. They took a little while to feel comfortable in my hand, but this was mainly due to them not being the traditional type of scissor with finger holes, so not something I was used to handling.
The block is quite large, but this is understandable given number and length of blades it has to hold. It does a good job though still manages to look nice. I like that it is quite upright, so doesn’t take up as much room as some blocks do.
In conclusion, this is a really nice, sharp, well made set of knives.
This is a great set of knifes that will grace any kitchen. They come individually wrapped, ready to go into the impressive beechwood block. The wavy finish on each blade is very unique and cool. I love the weighty Santoku Knife which gets the most use along with the small paring knife. The rivetted handles are comfortable and smart too. Great set overall.
A fair price for a good range of knives that the average home chef would be very happy with. You get a chefs knife, smaller knives, a small carving knife and paring knife and sharpening steel. A good package.
The presentation of the shipping box is not the best. The wooden base comes well protected in bubble wrap. However, the knives are all packed together in a box, which could be improved. However, each knife is wrapped in plastic (not bubble wrap) and cardboard to protect the cutting edge.
The design of the beech wood base is nice and elegant, and is also quite heavy, which is a good thing for this type of product to avoid accidentally dropping it when taking out one of the knives.
The knives also have an elegant design, with patterns on the blade of the knife. They are reportedly made of Damascus steel with a steel core. This should translate into durability of both material and edge. Another important point to take into account in any knife is the design of the handle, being in this case well made and comfortable, achieving a good balance.
They come well sharpened as usual. We will see how they age after several re-sharpenings.
The are not cheap (169.99 at this moment) but there are sometimes offers (price <100), quality is good.
This knife set is absolutely amazing. An 8-inch chefs knife, an 8-inch slicer knife, an 8-inch bread knife, a knife sharpener, a 7-inch santoku knife, kitchen scissors, a 5.5-inch serrated utility knife, and a 3.5-inch parring knife are included in the set. The chefs knife glides through meat and vegetables with little effort. The slicer knife is great for cutting thinner slices of roast, fruit , vegetables and herbs. The bread knife is a good length and makes the sawing motion easy. The Santoku knife does a great job cutting meat, slicing cheese, chopping or dicing fruits, vegetables and nuts. The serrated utility knife has sharp teeth to slice through baguettes and bagels—as well as tender fruits and vegetables without crushing them and the parring knife works well on peeling or cutting fruit and vegetables into small pieces as well as other precision work. The knife sharpener keeps the knives sharp, and the kitchen scissors are ideal for cutting raw and cooked poultry. These knives have a nice solid feel to them, with ergonomic handles that provide a comfortable, fatigue-free grip and a safe working environment. Overall, this is a high-quality set; the knives are razor-sharp, and the block is a good weight, making it ideal for storing and protecting the set. Hand washing is advised to extend the life of each knife, scissors, and sharpener. My meal preparations have become a pleasure thanks to the set.
Well Presented with a stylish high quality designed set and a sharp durable bundle which is easy to use, also ergonomic, well balanced and way more effective and functional then a standard conventional set by far.. wish i had come across a set like this sooner in terms of performance and more simplicity with food preparation and to be fair they are easy to maintain and clean, also a storage friendly block that clearly stand out in the kitchen for a more professional look aswell.
Very happy to recommend and are no doubt designed to last with an impressive balance and sharpness too
what a beautiful set of knives , well made and excellent quality. I like the wooden organiser also its very sturdy and considering is holding all this knives is actually compact and doesn’t take that much space as i through it will, the selection of knives is very good from scissors to little knives all cutting well and are very sharp also , good grip on the handle , elegant and simple handle .definitely recommend
A great set of knives. Comes well presented and protected with everything safely inside. The outside of the box shows you exactly what you’re getting. You get a total of 9 items; 8 inch chefs knife, 8 inch slicing knife, 8 inch bread knife, 7 inch santoku knife, 5.5 inch utility knife, 3.5 inch pairing knife, kitchen shears, knife sharpener and a wooden block. The block is beechwood and in a really nice colour, with a slot for each knife with the scissors and sharpener having their own slot also. The stand is solid and sturdy and doesnt tip over at all even when any knives are removed. A variety of knives for different jobs in the kitchen. Made from a Damascus steel with a steel core, it gives an excellent toughness and durable cutting edge. All of a decent size, well made handle you get a smooth balanced knife. An even flush join between the handles and the blade. The abs handles are comfortable to hold, you can get a firm solid grasp. Handy sharpener included, so you can always makes sure they are cutting edge. Smooth and precise cutting. Versatile, you have a knife for everything from slicing bread, cutting meat and fish to dicing vegetables and slicing fruit. Really easy to clean in the sink with warm soapy water. A set of well produced knives. Perfect to tackle all your kitchen tasks. Very pleased with their performance.
Some of the sharpest knives I’ve ever owned.
I under estimated just how sharp they would be on my first using of them.
They come perfectly packaged.
Individually wrapped and kept separate from eachother.
The distinctive marbling pattern was a massive selling point for me and it didn’t disappoint they are absolutely stunning!
I wouldn’t say they are lightweight if anything they are well weighted. And given the price point I wouldn’t expect anything less.
In use they practically melt through whatever it is you’re cutting. Also comes with a knife sharpener!
They are very very good quality.
Would highly recommend!
I was surprised to see how sharp these knives were – not the mythical Damascus blades that could split hair, but for use in the kitchen; if whatever you’re cutting isn’t straight, then it’s not the knife, it’s the operator.
This is a set of 6 knives with kitchen scissors , a sharpener and a rather compact wooden block.
The first thing I noticed was how compact the block was – sitting on my window sill, it’s quite upright and we can now drop our window blind beyond the knife block (which was always in issue with our old Sabatier knife block as that took up too much room).
I noticed each blade has an interesting pattern, which looks decorative – I doubt the billets have been folded hundreds of times, given the price, however this doesn’t really matter for a kitchen knife.
In use they are very sharp, the knives are weighty and substantial, cutting veg, meat, roasts is really easy; gristle is no problem. The bread knife doesn’t have deep serrations, but it still cuts easily – far better than the toothy Sabatier knife we had before. I found the scissors a bit awkward to use; there is a clip to hold the spring loaded handles together, relying on the spring force to open the handles whilst cutting, and it’s easier to accidentally drop as there are no holes to put your fingers in.
I didn’t initially like the name on the front of the block being so prominent, but after using them, I’m quite impressed, especially if they’re as hard as claimed and stay sharp. I’ll do some research into how to use a sharpener when I finally need to.
9 piece Damascus steel knife set
I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.
This is a beautiful knife set and they’re definitely some of the sharpest knives I’ve used. Damascus steel is fantastic quality, I’ve got one large one currently, to compare them to.
The only thing with these knives is, the pattern looks quite uniformed, it’s all quite similar, so in that regard, I’m unsure if they’re completely real Damascus. However, the quality is really up there with the strength of the handles, the sharpness of the edges and how easy they make chopping food.
The block for the knives is a nice design but I do feel like the finish on it, could have been a little better. I like the shape and style of it though. This is roughly 21cm x 15cm x 16.5cm.
The knives you get are –
* 8″ chef knife
* 7″ santoku knife
* 8″ bread knife
* 8″ slicing knife
* 5.5″ utility knife
* 3.5″ paring knife
* 32.5cm knife sharpener, which works brilliantly.
* 25cm long shears, which are the best quality shears in a knife block I’ve seen!
All of the knives work well, I can’t complain in that sense. The handles are each around 11cm long, they’re not added on afterwards, like cheaper knives, they’re nice and strong, even my heavy handed partner, who breaks knives often, found them beautiful to use.
I do love this set. It really looks the part in any kitchen, the different knives are all useful in different ways. It’s only the pattern which concerns me but I could be wrong.
I would recommend them. I do think if the knife block was tidier, they would be worth the price. One of the best knife sets I’ve tried.
This is a high quality knife set. They feel well balanced in the hand, good to hold.
They are very sharp, what you’d hope for in a knife set!
The wooden block is heavy and sturdy, adding to the quality feel of this set.
Knife block – the knife block is smart and good quality. I like how compact it is considering how many knives it holds.
Handling – the handles are comfortable to hold. The knives have some weight to them but they aren’t excessively heavy. I have small hands but I had no issue handling these knives.
Sharpness – these knives are sharp and cut so much better than my previous inexpensive knife set. I especially liked the kitchen scissors, especially for cutting up meat.
Nice set of kitchen knives very sharp and they look stylish I didn’t use all of them yet but what I been using this days I can say they help me a lot to prepare my food. A bit pricey but worth i
