Bought this coffee machine based off a review id seen over on YouTube. So glad I did, it’s small yet does everything I need it to. Make about 4 medium sized cups of coffee before needing to be refilled. The compartments for the milk come off easy to clean and takes seconds to do.
Great variety of pods available and reasonably priced too.
Would 100% recommend!
So to start off I got the white version in Used – Acceptable condition from Amazon warehouse. The description mentioned that there were “cosmetic imperfections” and scratches pretty much all over the item and the price was 100 instead of 200 brand new.
So the item arrived without its box/manual/trial pods as described, but the main piece is pretty much in perfect condition. Some very very very minor marks on the top, but it basically looks brand new.
Would I pay double(an extra one hundred pounds) for a box I’ll throw out and a manual I can get online that I won’t read anyway along with some pods I can buy for a couple of quid in the supermarket – absolutely not.
So if you’re thinking of getting one don’t be afraid to try your luck on the warehouse versions. You can always return it if yours turns out worse.
Now to the product itself – 100 is a scandalous price for a little coffee machine, but it’s probably one of the best ones you can get and it cost the same as the more basic ones so it evens out a little bit.
The water tank holds enough for a good few cups which is nice compared to the smaller tanks other machines have.
The main function for the 2 sizes of servings works perfectly as you’d expect.
The milk park also works really well and I’m not sure how you could manage to have any issues with it. The milk pretty much dribbles out the end into your cup(there no way it’ll shoot out all over your floor like I’ve seen others mentioning).
It’s quite easy to clean the milk part too which I’d recommend doing after every use.
It splits up into 3 pieces and you can just rinse them out and put it back for the next use.
The more milk you put in the tank, the more will come out – make sure your cup/glass is big enough to hold that much so it doesn’t overflow.
It’s a good device overall if you’re willing to put up the investment and definitely check out the warehouse options.
Easy to use, milk frother works well and easy to clean. A well designed machine
My Nespresso De’Longhi is sensational. I’ve had it good few months now and runs beautifully. It’s compact looks pretty I only have cappuccino lungo so is great for me. You can only make one cappuccino at a time and need to wait 10 to 15 mins for next one. This is why it’s called the ‘One’
I look up some YouTube videos to help understand how to clean the milk holder. Also even though the instruction book says you jave to use cows milk this is not true. I use oat milk every day so no worries. However you cannot use home made oat milk as the consistency isn’t right to froff the milk.
It’s great! I love the milk attachment, much easier to use than the milk frothier sold separately. All as expected from a Nespresso machine.
I am definitely very satisfied, very practical. You get used to it after a few tries. milk froth is great. I would definitely recommend
Aside from being an overall well-designed product, the coffee is delicious! It is relatively easy to use the machine but read the instructions beforehand so that nothing is accidentally spoilt in the unboxing and set-up process. Additionally, it comes with a pack of 14 Nespresso capsules. I would also not recommend using dupes as my reading online has confirmed that even though this machine does not use a barcode system — dupe versions tend to clog the internal workings or give weak coffee.
Beautiful design of the coffee machine and very tasty coffee.Very happy I purchased it!
Lovely tasting coffee and velvety textured milk it produces. Overall, very pleased!!!
I’m a big fan of Nespresso machines as they are very handy to have around the house for your morning coffee. Nespresso have a large range of capsules for different flavours and different cups which means it’s good for everyone’s tastes. The only issue I have is this machine sometimes is that the coffee isn’t as hot as I would like it to, but I think that’s what is to be expected from these machines from reading all the reviews. The cappuccino function works well and I use it quite often.
Great machine! Tip: If you’re using the lungo with milk button like me, make sure to empty the capsule and run water through the machine, otherwise you will get a build up of oils that will eventually make your coffee taste burnt.
Pleased with the coffee machine, easy to use. It is also compatible with supermarket coffee pods.
Got this for my partner as a birthday present; she absolutely loves it. Not sure about the flavour of the machine though but 5 stars because it bagged me some action later that day.
Muy buen producto y de mucha calidad sin duda es muy recomendable, tal que como dice la descripcion, muchas gracias
Works like a dream
Can never go wrong with the Nespresso machines
Love the quality of the coffee , better than my tassimo machine, uses real milk and froths nicely. Took a few tries to get the blend. Top tip heat your empty cup in the microwave before making the coffee and it stays warmer for longer. Worth every penny!
Easy to use. Fantastic depth of flavour and crema. Easy to adjust the size of your drink using different settings. Best buy for a long time.
Great absolutely love it, I do pre warm my glasses as I like my coffee hot! But easy to clean and makes lovely lattes
Lovely product and well made.
Took a few attempts to get coffee perfect but love it and so easy. Loving the frothy milk as well.
I am delighted with her, delicious coffee. An important point, read the instructions and there are many interesting points.
Since lockdown started I’ve been missing my in-office coffee shop, so this was an essential purchase!
Look
I’ve had Nespressos in the past but a much cheaper machine than this one, and I’m glad we went for a nicer brand name one. Everything feels high quality. The colour is really nice, sort of halfway between buff and grey. Its matte finish which means no ugly fingerprints and water marks.
Coffee
My partner drinks black coffee and I drink lattes or sometimes Americanos with a dash of milk. It works fantastic for a variety of drinks. The milk frother is especially great as it’s much easier than the separate ones.
To make an Americano you just need to do two lungos one after the other in the same cup. This makes roughly the amount of water you’d expect in a medium American from Starbucks etc. There is also a setting to change the water amounts or the standard button press so you can customise it, however because we have a variety of coffees we have just kept the standard settings and simply press the button a second time.
The milk frother is so simple to use. You don’t even need to tell the machine that you are making a milky coffee. When the milk frother is full the machine just knows. It provides the latte warm-up setting if the unit is attached and has liquid in it via a sensor, very clever!
It makes a good smallish latte, if you fill the frother to the top line. More of a cappucino if you fill it to the bottom line.
Cleaning
I like to keep the kitchen clean and hate having to worry about scrubbing more bits and pieces. Luckily it’s pretty easy to clean.
The trip tray and the tray for the empty pods are easy to take apart. They are completely dishwashable or easy to rinse out and dry.
The milk frother comes apart into 5 bits which just need a rinse after use (immediately, I would recommend, as warm milk goes nasty very quickly and smells awful!) I just rinse through all 5 parts quickly under the tap after use and then pop it in the dishwasher for a deep clean.
We live in a medium hard water area and the “descale” warning feature is great. We just got our first ping after about 5 months of daily use. We bought descaling liquid from Nespresso and popped it through. It has a full proper descaling cycle. Again, you don’t have to do much. There is a small pipe attached to the back of the machine and once you’ve plugged that in the machine just “knows” its in descale mode and carries on its job with little intervention beyond adding the liquid and putting a tray underneath to catch the water.
Overall, I absolutely love my Nespresso! Couldn’t live without it.
Only have this a week but key points so far:
Pros:
Coffee is hot (hotter than Costa etc)
Will froth Almond milk perfectly fine.
Quick enough to power on and make a coffee.
Simplistic operation…80 year old can manage it just fine.
Cons:
Making a cappuccino in a decent size mug means pressing the button twice. (I know 1st world problems are terrifying )
That’s all for now.
I absolutely love this! Coffee tastes much better than the tassimo. This machine is so easy to use and clean. I love the milk frother, so easy to clean. I often froth milk for my kids with this too. So glad I bought this.
Fantastic coffee machine if you want the hassle taken out of ground coffee beans! I’ve had mine for 6 months and I absolutely love it! It’s easy to use and clean!
I have had this for 2 months and love it. It is easy to keep clean and works well with most pods and even the reusable one. It’s quick and I like that it steams the milk. The size is great as well as it doesn’t take up much space.
Exactly as you’d expect from a Nespresso coffee machine and cheaper than the Hugh stree
Hello guys,
I waited 5 months before writing a review for this product. I am so happy so far. I had previously a Delonghi product which was kind of manual frothing and tamping (Starbucks style) but I return this product back because air pressure reduced day by day and milk not become frothy anymore. It was too loud and takes 10-15 minutes to make a single cup. But with this machine, literally I leaped to another age. It make perfect latte, espresso that is better than any coffee shops. And It is very quick, like in 5-6 minutes you get 2 coffee. There is 2 issue (not major but need to consider) with this system.
1-If you are doing 2 cups of coffee, you need to de scale around every 3-4th month. This means you need to buy de scale kit from nespresso. (8-10 euro as I remember). If you use vinegar for descaling, you may end up other issues.
2-You need to wash milk frothing module in every use. I get used to wash it very quickly. In every 3 use, I put these things in a Box with full of warm water (45C) and a bit washing liquid, than mix a bit with your hand and wait 12 hour. Than rinse before use. If you don’t do this process, milk frothing system blocks and make strange noise with steam. But if you do that, than you are good.
You are dependent on Nespresso coffees but they are really good and you can find couple of alternatives as well.
Hope the machine will not breaks and I don’t have to update this comment
Price performance wise, I recommend this product and happy to bought it.
Enjoy!
Bought this as a gift for my partner. He absolutely loves it, uses it daily. The milk frother is a little bit fiddly and never uses all the milk but other than that the machine is excellent. We both love the large water tank and the ease of cleaning. I was unsure about the colour but it blends in really nicely in the kitchen, it’s cool toned so really matches our cupboards well!
A little awkward to clean the milk parts but overall an excellent machine.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Great Machine, Little Noise But That’s Like Other Decent Coffee Machines.
The Exterior Colour Combo Is Very Nice & Not A Brown, More Like A Dark Grey & Lighter Grey.
Makes Coffee From Pod’s In An Instant With A Great Little Washable Milk Frother That’s Easy To Detach /Atach.
Takes, Co-op, Aldi, Sainsbury’s Own Branded Capsules
Can’t Get Enough Of This Great Machine, with Its Used Capsule Collection Pot That Holds Around 10 Used Capsules & Has A Drip Pot Below For Exess Liquid.
Easy To Use & Very Easy To Set Up Your Own Amount Of Coffee Size.
The Milk Frothing Section’s Are Dishwasher Safe But Also Easy Enough To Hand Wash, Or Rince Through After Each Use.
Has A Shand Alone Drip Pot That Just Sits On Built-in Dip Tray, With Lift Out Metal Grid To Stand Expresso Cups On.
I Use A UK, Standard Size Mug Without The Drip Pot Which A Milk & Capsule Will Half Fill So Have Altered The Amount Of Coffee Produced By Following Instructions In The Manual.
Can’t Fault This Extremely Decent Machine.
Just 1 Thing I Would Change That’s A Real Minor… Drip Tray Stand Size.
Absolutely love this machine, convenient easy to use and makes the best coffee. Absolutely love the cappuccino from this, the milk heats up so quickly and is such a smooth and creamy drink. Love it.
A present for my son. He love it! Thank you
Great little machine, quick and easy to use and neat on the countertop. Compatible pods are easy to get in mosr supermarkets. Coffee is really strong and milk froths perfectly. Much better than my old gaggia. Wish I’d got one sooner!
So pleased with this machine, it’s so easy to use, compact and makes great coffee with the milk feature. Highly recommended!!
Like this machine a lot , the perfect one , easy to use , lots of flavors , good for shots, latte
Does as it says and makes a lovely coffee. Very easy to use with only a couple of buttons and a tray to empty once it’s full of pods. I don’t always use the milk frother as it is a bit of a pain to clean so just microwave my milk beforehand which also warms up the cup a little. No major complaints really.
all round good product. Little confusing to use but didn’t read instructions so probably my bad
Great to have the milk on the side. I had an aerocino before hand which was good but this is so much more convenient. There are a few little bits to clean but it’s not hard. Well worth it.
Easy to use, simple and quick to clean. Makes a good coffee too.
Easy to use, great tasting coffee. Fantastic price on black Friday. A big upgrade from previous Dolce Gusto
It is easy to use, and the design is good.
One disadvantage seems to be that the milk bottle is a little small, so there is less latte coffee.
Of course, personal opinion.
Absolutely love the Latissima one. No fuss, easy to use for a straight up espresso, capuccino, or latte. Doesn’t take up much space, and for me, it looks the sleekest of all Nespresso/De’Longhi machines. The wide range of pods you can try is a welcome addition. It’s a beautiful conversation piece in the kitchen.
I’ve tried the Dolce Gusto and Tassimo machines and this is a class above both machines!!
I like a cappuccino so liked the idea of the milk frothed and it did not disappoint, my only niggle is I wish I could have it a little hotter.
Great little machine, nice and compact, well built and looks nice.
The only downfall is I’m tempted to spend more money buy the next machine up for more options and I’ve only just had this one
Brilliant little machine, good build quality and the matt brown colour looks classy.
Easy to use, gift to my dad & he find it very easy to use and he loves the coffee. Frother does need to be cleaned after every use but its easy to do.
Love it! Super happy with this machine much better and cheaper to run than Tassimo machines. The pods are so widely available and affordable. Easy to clean as well.
I am in love! I love this machine works perfectly and matches well with my kitchen ! Love great buy!
Excellent value for money.
Only issue was the Item was delivered in next door neighbours front garden and left overnight (Mar 2019)
Excellent machine, the missus has nearly burnt it out she uses it that much! Paid a bit more for this machine than our last nespresso one which eventually gave up the ghost after about 2 years or so. Great bit of kit and a lot quieter than our previous machine, with the added bonus of a milk frothed/warmer. Can’t fault it so far…
Perfectly sized for occasional coffees with a clean stylish look
Great machine the only issue is it does not heat the milk hot enough
Amazing machine, easy to use, with very nice design! I am very happy, and my wife as well!Thank you!!!
Easy to use and not hard to clean. Get this one if you need your milk frothed with less effort.
Easy to use compatible pods work well and quite a large water tank
Love this product. Lovely frothy coffee everytime. Nothing to not like about it.
Although I like coffee, I find the taste rather strong and my preference would always be a milky coffee such as a latte or cappuccino.
The great news is that this Nespresso can do just that, with no extra attachments needed. Simply fill up the milk container and twist the spout over your cup, and voila! The machine heats and froths the milk, before brewing and pouring the coffee into this mug.
It is simple to use, with only three buttons, and easy to clean. Cleaning the milk attachment takes a little bit of time, but it is simple enough.
I found youtube guides on how to use the machine and the milk frother from Nespresso, which I recommend for first time users!
I have been using a rival machine but fancied a change. I am blown away by how good this is…especially for latte and cappuccino coffees. It looks great too and from amazon it’s a bargain price. Temperature of the coffee is perfect for me but if you like it super hot just pre-warm your cup in the microwave. A fabulous machine…full marks!
Good machine. Bought it for a friend and was happy with i
It makes a great drink but I could not get it to make a Cappuccino with skimmed milk and the instructions say to use either semi or skimmed, works every time with semi skimmed though
I have tried several coffee machines but this is by far the best. It is very easy to use and the coffee is grea
Excellent product. Bought for my dad as present. He loves it. Very easy to use. Maybe get one myself. Coffee tastes great.
I bought it 2 month ago and I’m satisfied.
First above all, it can make milk with plenty bubble which I love.
Furthermore, the variety of capsules I can taste is very pretty.
So, I recommend you highly if you like plenty milk bubble and variety of taste capsule.
I think my old joke about coffee machines design channeling the 1970s Sci Fi series Space 1999 as a style model is wearing thin, but it keeps coming to my mind. This is how I expected things to look in the 21st century! DL have gone for a kind of modularity, with all the functions of the machine located in cubes with rounded edges. The back-lit buttons that flash and then steady when the temperature is right are excellent. The ‘spill tray’ is a cube with a grille that slides away sideways when not needed…..the pod system is blissfully simple with a pod shaped recess to show where it goes. The action of loading and ejecting the pods has a very definite and ‘artillery’ – like action and the reservoir is well made a fits securely. The machine is substantial and sets itself firmly on the worksurface. I have to confess we haven’t tried the milk attachment but it looks simple. Everything is squared off, simple and easy to understand. Coffee tastes great too…
The best coffee ever! I had a basic nespresso machine before but this is well worth paying more for!
Very stylish and compact looking coffee machine . Not only does it look professional it delivers a very professional product.
It is easy to use and my favourite part is th e milk frothing m which works wonderfully well.
It sets it far apart form the usually capsule coffee machines .
Easy enough to clean and very easy to buy pods. Highily recommend. The best capsule coffe machine I have owned .
I like it cuz i can make my lattee anytime
Great machine and great coffee. You can adjust the amount of milk froth you want with the amount milk u put in the milk cup.
Everything goes in the dishwashe
Everything is perfect about it. If i have Something to highlight its that there’s no easy way to clean milk container. yet, its okay for me because I’m not frequently drinking latte.
It’s beautiful and works well. but it’s annoying clean after make latte.
Beautiful design, simple to use and does the job. A bit difficult to clean the milk parts and the temperature is moderate. Only 3 options (short/long espresso and cappuccino). For me it does the job.
Thank you really the product is easy to use and all accessories are available
I have had experience of quite a few De’Longhi coffee machines, including Nespresso ones, and they are all generally excellent. And this one is no exception. De’Longhi is a brand that I have come to trust for quality and robustness, and I get the feel that this superb Nespresso machine is no exception.
What is great about machines such as this is that they are automated. Capsule in, milk in the compartment, water ready, press a button, and out comes a great coffee, whether a latte or a cappuccino.
It’s the simplicity of use of this one that I love. It is so easy to use with a few great options for super coffee.
I love it.
This has just been a complete pleasure from the very moment I received it, the box it is supplied in has a carry handle making it easy to move around, the box unfolds in what I thought was a pretty unique way, revealing the espresso machine, a box of pods (or capsules, they are smaller pods than the alternative, which to my knowledge is Dolce Gusto), the drip tray and the milk foamer/dispenser. Already at this point, the unboxing, the impression is unmistakably one of finesse and style.
The entire espresso machine, I thought, was quite compact, taking up precious little space, less than my two Dolce Gusto machines, less than my older Espresso/Cappucino machine or filter coffee machine. The milk frother/dispenser slots onto the front of the machine easily with a little click, the drip try fits neatly in its place, this is set up complete, more or less. The espresso machine then plugs into the wall and then all that is required is that you open the pod receptical at the top, drop in a pod, close the opening once more with a click and then select the pour options.
While this is all pretty intuitive there are a number of good inlay materials and a user manual supplied in box, one of which is a sort of merchandise catalogue selling ideal glass wear, advising about recycling pods, specialist biscuits for coffee and various stands and jars for pods. The straight forward instruction manual is clear and also has accompany illustrations, line drawings and pictures which are very easy to understand and clear to follow.
The beverages themselves are very nice, this is in fact the best espresso coffee that I have been able to enjoy at home, the milk frother does a fantastic job too and the beverages it is possible to create, even should it just be topping an espresso with frothed milk are all very good. Both to taste and, while it may seem silly or besides the point, great to look at before tasting. When the machine is working and dispensing the espresso a fantastic aroma fills the space around it, overall its just a great experience which I think any coffee lover is going to rate highly.
For some fans of Nespresso the brand or range recommends itself and its superiority is self-evident but I think its worth noting what makes it preferable to some of the alternatives or, at least, comparable or contrasting.
As I have said I have owned a classic espresso machine for preparing beverages with grounds (or the “tea bags” full of grounds) which also had a steam jet filled from the water reservoir, for me the Nespresso machine wins out on the count of convenience but also consistency. It takes a lot less skill or practice to get the perfect milk foam and espresso pour from a Nespresso machine.
The drinks poured from a Nespresso are going to be espressos, smaller than those for instance prepared with a Dulce Gusto (definitely smaller than cappucinos, lattes, americanos in that range) but I still think that, taking that into account, that the water reservoir is largely and less likely to require constant refills than the alternative, it also has a straightforward lid which you lift off and its no difficult then to fill it from a jug.
The pods when you operate the lever mechanism to pour and then open it once more are dropped into a collection tray, which can be removed in order to dispose of the emptied pod right away or used to collect used pods and dispose of a number of them at once. Again, it may be a small matter but I think this makes it easier to draw a number of drinks in quick succession and keeps the machine a little cleaner than some of the alternatives, the pods themselves, also, do not appear to retain as much (or any pretty much) water from the pour process which then empties around the machine or collection tray.
The whole thing is easy to keep clean with a cloth and wipe down and around, the milk frother’s canister like receptacle for milk detaches for cleaning and the frother itself can be disassembled into a number for parts for a deeper clean when necessary (there is a trouble shooting guide as to dealing with clogs or issues with this part of the machine). This attachment or feature is what will set this particular Nespresso machine apart from others, I think that it is a good one, whether you make much use of it or not (and I know some coffee and Nespresso purists will scoff at the idea of using it to prepare anything other than pure and simple espressos with it) it is a great feature to have. I’ve known a variety of ways of producing the foamed milk for coffees and none of them produce the desired effect as conveniently and consistently as this does.
Overall, as a coffee and espresso lover I could not recommend this highly enough, the alternative or rival brands all have good points too but this is just excellent, a complete joy to own and operate, whether its just for yourself or sharing with company. Recommended.
There are many coffee pod systems to choose from these days with each having it’s good and bad features — however Nespresso is still the original and many would say the best of them all. This De’Longhi EN500BW could be a good place to start if you are new to the Nespresso system as it offers some good features in a competitively priced coffee machine — it doesn’t offer all the features of the more expensive machines but produces a few favourites with ease. This De’Longhi model is fairly compact so won’t take over all of your kitchen space and it can serve up a good quality cup of coffee in a short period of time — handy if you are rushing around at breakfast time. We used this machine a lot over the holiday period and it produced a good selection of coffee varieties both milky and black with the popular choices being very easy to prepare using the button system. We have not had to descale the machine as yet but it seems to be a fairly straightforward procedure. This De’Longhi model is available in mocha brown or silky white with the white version being better value currently from Amazon. This Nespresso Lattissima is not the perfect Nespresso coffee machine but for the features and build quality it offers at the price I rate it with five stars.
This is one of the easiest to use coffee machine.10 out of 10 for making a gorgeous drink.I thought the pods were very tasty.A nice lovely coffee with the aroma round the house.I did try alternative pods but prefer the taste of nespresso much better and tastier. This looks quite a big machine on the picture but it really is not.Compact and accessible always.Excellent machine
Nice looking coffee machine, works fine so far.
The only drawback I can find is that I can not fully control the milk – It automatically adds the amount of milk in it, didn’t find a way to control the steam, the quantity etc.
My partner bought this machine for me for Christmas and I was so excited to have my first Nespresso machine! I used to sell these as one of my first jobs in retail and have always had a special place in my heart for Nespresso products! I was thrilled to get this, but unfortunately I have been less than impressed since then.
~ The coffee tastes AMAZING – I cannot go back to the jarred stuff any more!
~ The first three – four coffees I made with this were incredible, rivalling anything I could get at my local coffee shops, however things started to go down hill after about four days after Christmas using this machine 2-3 times per day.
~ The frother stopped steaming the milk as well as it did once first used to the point where we had to contact Nespresso direct for advice. Even after thoroughly breaking down the frother it still does not perform as it should, mildly frothy coffee now. Nespresso have promised to send a replacement frother but nothing has shown up so far, nearly a week and a half later
~ No matter how deeply I clean this machine from head to toe, the cleaning light comes on after every. single. coffee. It’s so fickle, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!
Overall, it’s not bad. It does the job (mostly), I’m just sad that Nespresso has been knocked off the pedestal I’ve held it on for so many years!
You’ll have seen from the other reviews that this machine doesn’t make every conceivable variety of coffee. It does however do a brilliant job with the drinks that I would imagine coffee lovers want 95% of the time. Super quick and easy espresso, americano, cappuccino and latte. If your preferred drink is not one of these, it’s not the machine for you, but if it is, then you’ll struggle to find a better machine at the price. Works effortless, well built and pretty easy to clean. If you’ve not tried nespresso before, this is a great place to start (and you won’t go back – our trusty dualit coffee machine sat in a cupboard for a while, then got donated to friends).
There are a lot of positives to the De’Longhi Lattissima One and its ideally suitable for the occasional coffee drinker or if your kitchen workspace is limited as its a very compact 15.4 W x 32.4 D x 25.6 H cm. It also looks very nice, is easy to set up, clean and use and it makes a nice cup of coffee.
You only have 3 buttons to play with; Espresso, Lungo and a milk drink – with your chosen milk drink (Latte macchiato or Cappuccino) defined by how much milk you put in the milk container – both levels are clearly marked and obviously if you prefer more or less than those levels you can adjust how much you put in the container.
Designed for making a single drink I used it to make an additional coffee when a friend was visiting and it took me less than 30 seconds to eject the capsule, insert another one and refill the milk container. The machine had reheated during that time and was ready to go again so it wasn’t really a problem. As stated above this is designed for making single drinks and normally I’d remove and wash the milk container between uses but it worked fine for making a second drink straight away. If you’re looking for a machine to regularly be make multiples then it might be worth considering a larger and more expensive machine for example the Latissima Touch.
I really like this machine and it suits its purpose very well, my only negative is it doesn’t make the milky drinks as hot as I’d like them. That is however down to a personal preference and just me being picky, I’ve been told on numerous occasions for optimum taste coffee shouldn’t be too hot.
In summary for someone who is an occasional coffee drinker and doesn’t usually prepare more than one drink, this machine is ideal and I’d definitely recommend it.
This is a lovely machine, we love the colour Mocha Brown and the coffee is superb. We enjoy a simple coffee, Latte is a favourite particularly for us. This machine is easy to use (I am not very techy and I managed to work this out very quickly) and we love the frothy milk it makes for lovely coffee which has that the coffee shop feeling! I would recommend to anyone who loves good coffee!
This is my second coffee machine,my first one being the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine, which is a more basic machine.
This is a more advanced machine and is fairly impressive. You receive quite a large parcel, with flip over presentation box,the machine, full user manual and an original Nespresso selection of their coffee pods for your usage,16 to be precise, for your usage.I have now tried various pods to make different coffees including:espresso, lungo and Cappuccino.
Utilizing, the machine to produce espressos and lungos,is simplicity itself and the finished product is very nice indeed.A quick flip of the lever, releases the used pod into the waste pod collection compartment. You have a detachable water compartment, which you can fill up to the maximum line. The compartment does feel a little flimsy, but it does the job.
You have a drip tray and support base to elevate different coffee mugs to fit closer to the spout to minimise splashing from too much of a height. You can control the amount of coffee that goes into your cup or let the machine measure it for itself. The machine is very easy to set up and just requires a bit of warm up time before it is ready to go.
Aesthetically, the machine does look good and is a welcome addition to my kitchen worktop.
The biggest bone of contention is the separate milk frother department for making coffees such as Cappuccino and lattes.
You have a fill line for Cappuccino and a higher measure for lattes.
So far I have made 1 cappuccino from this machine and enjoyed the taste of it.However, upon making one of the milk based coffees the orange light comes on and you need to dismantle the milk brother, which comes in 4 parts and wash every component and wait for it to dry before then being able to being able to reassemble and then utilize anew.
This is seriously inconvenient especially,if you are making multiple coffees for guests etc.
You can’t control the amount of milk that goes into your coffee, the machine determines it for you.
The machine is quite wasteful as well,as it leaves milk behind even when you fill the milk compartment to the pre-determined fill levels. The original pods for this machine are fairly expensive as well.
All in all though, the Lattissima One is still a good machine and one that I am enjoying using.
This machine takes the STANDARD Nespresso capsules so it’s a good idea to join the club, especially as you can get some great bargains for your machine. You will have the option to buy Non-Nespresso capsules which have plastic containers and tops. Firstly they cause problems with the machine and secondly Nespresso will recycle the metal foil capsules.
In term of usability this particular machine is very good and I recommend it over many others as you can detach the milk container and keep it in the fridge if you want to. The machine works really well and makes good latte’s and cappuccino’s. It’s very easy to clean and servicing it in hard water areas is easy as well.
So I said in the title that the machine is *almost* perfect. So what’s wrong? Well a LOT of coffee machines put the water container on the back making access to top the water up a pain. Plus the tank is not particularly big. Coffee machines in my opinion need a 1.5l tank as a minimum AND they need to be able to fill the tank form the front. THEN this would be perfect. I’ve only come across one machine that has a 1.7l tank and front fills.
… if you’re not making another within 30 mins) this machine’s milk components (if you’re using it) need.
I have a Nespresso Essenza mini coffee machine, which works pretty well, but as I like my coffees really hot, I have taken to microwaving milk whilst the machine heats up. It’s OK enough, but I do end up with a skin on sometimes, which spoils the coffee a little. I was attracted to this model as it has a milk heater-frother.
Instructions on this are really clear and the booklet, refreshingly, has words as well as images. You can’t go wrong with it. The only thing that niggles a bit for me, is that you have to remove and wash every single bit of the milk frother after use, if you’re not going to make a cup in the next 30 mins that is, which I suppose is to avoid contamination of the machine and the risk of a tummy upset. Yes, I get that you’d need to wash it all, but it’d be more helpful if there was a button for the tube parts to self-flush and clean (there’s a note to say that it doesn’t work with water), as they’re tricky to run under a tap and clean properly. And, reading up on this, the manufacturer recommends soaking the components in mild detergent for 30 minutes before rinsing and drying. It highly recommends that (assumes even that most people have one) a dishwasher be used for each cleaning. Really? Who has the time for this on a working day and even a non-working day? This has put me off using the machine, and yes, I’ve taken to washing with dishwasher soap under running water for reasons of practicality.
Also, when removing the milk system for cleaning, you have to remember to bring the dispenser into vertical position to avoid damage, i.e., move it from dispensing position. And, remember to press the little button on the side to release the parts, and not simply pull them apart.
I do like that you can make your drink as milky or not as you like, because the milk compartment doesn’t need to be completely filled, though you are meant to use the preset levels for a cappuccino or a macchiato (I don’t). And, milk needs to be added drink by drink, so you can’t fill the container and expect to make several drinks with it – you’d end up with a half pint (when frothed from full) of frothy milk mix, overflowing onto the counter, and no space for coffee. Whilst making the drink, the machine uses up all the milk you’ve included and will them move onto the capsule and dispense the coffee. However, the system is NOT designed to work with anything other than cow’s milk – semi and skimmed are recommended, at about 4 degrees cold, so straight from the fridge. I’ve used this with full-fat UHT milk out of a carton and haven’t experienced an issue yet.
So, to use it: add the milk to the milk compartment. Add your coffee capsule. Press the any button and once the milk has been dispensed into your glass, the capsule is pierced and your coffee is made. If you want more liquid, press the lungo or the espresso button. One thing to note is that the milk doesn’t take the 15 seconds to heat up as the booklet says it does – it starts dispensing pretty much immediately you press the button, and you get a ton of froth, so bear that in mind. And, it means that the milk doesn’t really heat up that much, and therefore, you don’t get a piping hot coffee. And, it’s so loud that it sounds like a small power tool that’s being used in bursts. And, quite a lot of froth (at least 1/2cm) remains in the milk compartment once it’s finished dispensing, so that’s a bit of a waste. The coffee part of the dispensing is not as loud. I did think that milk would end up splashing out of the cup, due to the way in which I angled the froth dispenser, but this didn’t happen, though you do need to use a deep enough mug.
Or, if you’re not using milk in your coffee, press any setting to heat the water, insert capsule, select which length/size of drink you want by pressing the appropriate button. Once your coffee is ready, if you decide you want to add a bit more water, select the button you prefer. There’s a notice to say that if you’ve made a drink of 150mls or more, to wait 5 minutes before you next use the machine, to avoid a risk of damage through overheating.
I like that there’s a decent length of cord on this, and that the excess can be stored under the machine. I don’t like that I have to remove the cup holder part for every size of mug I have in my house – it only really takes an espresso or small latte mug. That’s not handy, but tbh, I have the same issue with the Essenza model. The water holder is easy to remove and reinsert and it has a lid that comes off completely to make filling easy. And, the lid just presses back on, as does the compartment, rather than having to be inserted/juggled/clipped into position. With the size of the water holder, I can get at least 4 x 200ml mugs of coffee out of this before refilling. And, the lever to insert/eject capsules is made of metal and it’s sturdier and feels more solid than the plastic one on my Essenza. The used-capsule holder is of a good size and easy to remove and reinsert, and means that you don’t need to empty it often.
You can programme the machine, for up to 3 cups following the one you’re making, to deliver the same size of coffee as the one you’ve just made. After that, it resets itself. You get a box of 14 capsules to try out with this, and right now, you can register the machine and get 150 free capsules, but be prepared to be bombarded with emails from Nespresso afterwards! I get at least one a week, and have had several in the run-up to Xmas.
Overall, this is a nice-to-have Nespresso machine, not an essential one. For me, the cleaning of the milk components, and the fact that the milk doesn’t really heat up enough, put me off using that part, though of course you can use the machine perfectly well without needing to use this part. And, size is an issue – this is about 40 cm high, 36 cm from front to back and 20 cm in width, so you do need to have adequate space on your work surface for this. I don’t like th colour, tbh – it’s a dull beige/taupe colour. Black would’ve been better and would’ve matched the existing appliances I have, but that’s a personal thing, of course.
Does exactly what it says on the tin.
I have no idea how to steam / froth milk and no idea how much coffee should be put into a latte. I simply put some milk in the plastic jug, load the capsule and press the latte button. Few seconds later I have a perfect latte.
I feel some reviews are unfair. People complaining that it doesn’t do specific tasks or make multiple drinks haven’t read the description properly because that’s not what this machine is about. I don’t mean to offend anyone. If it overflows my cup then I take not note and next time use less milk, it’s not difficult.
My drinks taste great and cleaning the machine takes less than 5 mins.
I would recommend this machine to people who are getting into coffee and want a great tasting coffee, latte or cappuccino with very little effort. For the pro coffee drinkers I’d recommend the next machine up which will give you a few more customisation options.
This is my fourth Nespresso machine. And this one is the best so far. The milk is lively and smooth when used to make a cappuccino or latte. The colour is refreshing and a lot more modern. I really can’t fault it.
