I have suffered skin allergy and bitten by bed bugs in this summer. After using this vacuum, I can feel the bed is clean and no bugs jumping during my sleep. Love this product and I can see how dirty the mattress is even I steam it sometimes.

Having 4 dogs in the house, this uv vacuum pulled unexpected dust and hair from our furniture. The UV seems to have some effect on the smell . But defiantly was worth the purchase

Have 2 dogs who sleep in my bed and my partner loves cheese biscuits at bedtime. This is amazing. Better than a handheld regular hoover (even dyson). This lite vac has lighter suction to get fine dust, those light hairs that never seem to shift, and dustmites. Not so sure about the sterile science of the blue light, but at least you can hoover in the dark.

Something you never knew you needed.

I’m extremely allergic to dust, so much that I will have hour-long coughing fits if in a dirty environment.

This cleans everything so well. Takes dust out of bedding, mattresses, pillows and even winter coats. Amazing.

This is a very gentle small vacuum cleaner, as all soft furnishing cleaners need to be to prevent damage, but this does reduce how much dust and dirt can be pulled out effectively. It is also not very noisy.

To quickly kill of a range of microbes and assorted tiny creepy crawlies the 2 UV tubes should be very effective, although that is difficult to prove. Moving the cleaner very slowly over the surfaces is likely to be most effective.

The only control is a power button, but the UV tubes only come on when the whole width of the cleaner is in contact with the furniture. Again, this is a good safety measure.

I found the dust collecting compartment a little difficult to open up and the roller brush needs you to undo two screw locks.

The wire was long enough for us to stretch it diagonally across a good sized bedroom.

Gentle on fabric, deadly to microbes

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a fantastic product to own if you are a clean freak (just like me).
Also my husband is allergic to dust and with the help of this product hope he will sleep better.
It’s a light weight vacuum cleaner with very long cord-and also some other parts. It vibrates while you are using it and cleans the mattress with UV lights. Emptying it was easy and straightforward and I can’t wait to use it on all of the mattresses in our home.

This mattress vacuum cleaner was packed well. It came with some spare parts. The cord is long enough. It’s lightweight. Very handle and easy to use.

    perfect machine

This cleaner is light, small and easy to use. It has a fairly long electric lead allowing you to vacuum all the mattress if the socket is fairly close. It moves over a mattress easily, the UV light comes on killing dust mites, microrganisms and bacteria, picking up dust and and cleaning and filtering the air. It claims to suck up nearly 99.9% of everything on the mattress. When I used it the bin filled up quite quickly because it is quite small. It will have to be emptied frequently but since that is easy to do by unscrewing the bin and filter it doesn’t take a lot of effort. I used it on upholstery, hard floors and rugs where it picked up dust, dog hair and small pieces of anything that falls on them. Cleaning a mattress is not something I’ve done before but I think it is worth doing. It is easy to store in a small place. Overall I think it’s a good vacuum cleaner for quick cleaning on small areas.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve never used a UV Bed Vacuum Cleaner before and I’m very impressed by this unit. It’s not particularly heavy and so is easy to vacuum a large bed with minimal effort. When I used it on our bed I was amazed by how much it managed to vacuum, and the fact the UV light sterilises it as well means the bed is hygienically clean after use.

It’s so good I also use it on our sofa and it’s just as effective, vacuuming and cleaning every nook and cranny very easily. The dust bin is also a good size and is very straightforward to empty and clean. This is an extremely well made bed cleaner and the UV light feature means it gives far more of a thorough clean than a conventional handheld vacuum cleaner.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWell constructed and packaged, this hand held vacuum has a long mains lead and easily reaches around the opposite side of the bed to where you have it plugged in. Unlike most handhelds this also “beats” the mattress (etc) which is a strong point in its favour.
So this is a hand held vacuum that is specially designed for mattresses and sofas or anywhere that tiny critters might live. When you have someone in the family who has just brought bedbugs back from a major London hotel, this seems like a good deal – as anything you can do to get rid of these vile things has got to be good. If you haven’t got a known problem though…is it good value? Well, I stripped my mattress and started work – I picked up a tiny quantity of fluff, but of course we have no idea how effective the ultra violet light is in killing anything. At the very least, it gave me a sense that I was sleeping on something clean. However, wouldn’t my main vacuum have been as effective? It wouldn’t have UV but it would beat the mattress ever harder.
Emptying the dust bin is straight forward (although you might need the very badly translated instruction manual to see how), and you do get the vibe that it contains everything and isn’t allowing rubbish out into the air.
All in all, I am very happy with this product but I need to find somewhere to store it…because it is another “thing”. If you are young and healthy, I am not convinced that this is at all necessary if you have a full size vacuum and can just use that. However, if you are using this on several beds and also around the house (sofas, stairs?) then this is a fair price for what you get – it feels good quality and seems efficient.
I just think that maybe we are being told that we are not a clean house unless we have one???
If you have had an infestation in your mattress then I would happily pay twice as much though!
So overall I am inclined to give this 4 stars, and say that if you are going to use this and have storage space for yet another device, then this is a good quality product. If however, you can use your full size vacuum then why bother??? – It all comes down to whether a short blast of UV makes a difference!

First off, this is a corded machine (NOT cordless as in the description). It is hand-held and quite easy to use, although I wouldn’t describe it as light-weight.

Once set up I used this on chair cushions, beds and carpets. The UV-light automatically goes on/off as it detects surfaces.

After use I found it relatively simple to take apart although it isn’t obvious how to empty the dust bin, it needs nimble fingers. The brush head can be removed by turning two yellow plastic catches (Using a coin or flat head screwdriver. NB. Be careful as the yellow catches fell out once the flap was removed. They are small and could get lost.)

I like the idea of the UV light killing bed bugs and carpet mites. As you can’t see them with the naked eye, you also can’t tell if the machine does it’s job. I would like to think so. I did like using this on my carpets as the previous house owners had pets and as we haven’t changed the carpets, giving them a good clean with the UV light felt satisfying.

This is quite pricey, you are paying for the UV light, I wouldn’t buy this instead on an ordinary vacuum, but as an extra cleaning machine for the household.

    NOT cordless

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was intrigued by this cleaner. I’ve never seen one dedicated to mattresses with a UV light. The product description suggests it’s cordless; it isn’t. It has a mains lead, but it’s a good length and easy enough to plug in near to the bed.

It vibrates as you move it over the mattress and there’s a light which shines down onto the mattress, apparently blitzing mites etc. The cleaning head is broad and it’s easy to use and I found it quite lightweight, despite the size. It sucks up debris ( and even when you think the mattress is clean, I suspect you’ll be surprised at the amount of debris it picks up). It works best on a mattress with a cover; I have a foam topper and I tried it on that, without a cover and it doesn’t run smoothly over the foam.

I also used it on the sofa arms and seats. A couple if sweeps across brought up embedded dust, even though I vacuum them fairly regularly. It’s easy to empty and all in all, a neat little gadget. For me, it’s easier than using the vacuum cleaner as I don’t have to mess around with nozzles and attachments and with the broad headed design, it does the job better and more quickly. It’s not an essential, but it’s useful and I’ve tucked it in a cupboard corner and will use it more often than I would vacuum clean the bed and sofas. Great idea and well designed, it feels built to last.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis feels like a really well-made, quality product. It is fairly compact and straightforward to use. It is relatively light to handle. Although it is designed as a handheld device, it is not cordless – it has a fairly long cord to fit a 3 pin mains socket. Probably a cordless operation would be more convenient for a handheld vacuum.
This is quite a nice type of product – designed primarily to vacuum and sanitise mattresses. It has the fixed flat suction head with two built in UV lights to kill germs and bugs, etc. It suggests you can also use it for sofas but you can only use it on flat surfaces, like a mattress or sofa, because the suction head is fixed. There are no other attachments; you can’t remove the flat suction head to fit a hose or a nozzle etc. This does make it less versatile than it could be; if it came with a range of interchangeable suction head/tubes, you could use the special mattress sanitising one when you needed it and then use it for other vacuuming jobs as well. So they’ve possibly missed a trick there.
As I say, it is quite a niche product and here’s the thing – I don’t think I have ever vacuumed a mattress in my life. Or even considered the need to vacuum my mattress. Which, I guess, isn’t to say there’s no need to – maybe I shops have been doing it regularly, it’s just not something I’ve ever considered.
I can see this being a really useful thing if you or someone in your family has particular allergies or maybe if you are just someone who is particularly aware of and worried about germs and things in your bedding. Probably, I imagine, it is the kind of machine that works have a place in hotels or B&Bs or other places where you have a lot of different people sleeping in the beds. I know I’d feel a bit more reassured going to stay at a hostel if I knew that this kind of sanitation was done on the bedding regularly. So perhaps more of a commercial product for the hospitality industry.

Good quality machine though rather a niche produc

I have been using my small hand held g tech vacuum on my mattresses so was looking forward to trying this. It works really well, the vacuum head dips off a good size so doesn’t take as long to cover the area of mattress.
It is powerful and I love the addition of the UV light to help kill any mites. After vacuuming previously I would then spray mattress and pillows with an antibacterial product, no need for that now.
On downside for me is that it is not rechargeable it’s a pain plugging it in behind my bed where the nearest sockets are, and it is a little on the heavy side. Instructions were pretty useless.
But I think this will be a useful addition to my home

    Excelle

This isn’t a traditional vacuum , it’s more like a UV cleansing system , the top part which is the vacuum looks like a car vacuum with the handle placed on the back underneath there is a UV light bar which mobilises itself when it reaches 5 CMS from the surface of the item you are cleaning .

Perfect for mattresses and bedding for the day in-between washes it filters and destroys bugs mites skin dust and bacteria .

The lead is a good length and would fit around a double sized bed although you may need an extension to complete a runover of a larger one .

The battery life indicator is for the UV light it’s easy to read , basically you just need to keep it plugged in for a while longer than you use it for the battery to recharge .

This would benefit anyone that is concerned about eliminating bacteria from their soft furnishings .it can be used on settees cushions pillows and mattresses .

Priced at 89.99 it’s not the cheapest but if you want peace of mind it’s reasonable .

This is a useful tool, mainly focusing on health issues I’d say. It’s called a vacuum cleaner but be aware it’s certainly not meant for carpet or car boot for example. Main aim is to thoroughly clean bedding, especially mattresses and dealing with mites which may well be lurking in those dimple like things you get in said mattress . Strong suction but you must have it connected to a socket although generous length of cable provided. There’s a UV light which comes on when held some 5cms close to a surface and apparently this will kill any mites. Vacuum will also remove dead skin and definitely dust. I can see the appliance only being used occasionally in most homes but could be a godsend for hotels, B+B and cottages, where many different people would use their beds. Could be good for asthma sufferers as well.
Made in China, as many things seem to be but oh dear, the manual is something of a joke. All they had to do was check with any native English speaker to spot errors. ‘Do not use on animal’ is a good one!
You don’t need a manual as it’s totally straightforward to use. Slightly heavy maybe but not too bad.
Not a strictly necessary device for many people so perhaps need to consider paying the price.
