Great little stove. I removed Gas fire, and this stove not only looks good but is quieter and will save me money now that I have Solar panels. Great buy.
Really, the reason for the stove is ambience and heat. With this electric stove, we can have the ambience whenever we want with no fuss, if we want heat, flick the central heating on…or for a boost, switch this on and power from battery storage which was charged from solar panels. Much cleaner than a real stove and probably more cost efficient in the long run! No cleaning, no maintenance etc. We bought the additional plastic flue to complete the look.
Looks great, heats room well but not as quiet as I hoped
Very stylish. Used as focal point in lounge and occasional back up heat to central heating.
Usually used with just the flames which looks amazing. The blow heaters work well and warm the room up quickly.

I bought two of these many years ago and they’ve never gone wrong. They give out good heat and the flame effect on its own is heartwarming. I thoroughly recommend them. Can’t imagine life without these in my rooms. So nice to have a focal point to direct you chair towards by the light of a table lamp in the evenings and ultra cosy to sit and read in front of.

Clean and easy plus economical
The coal looks so real and the flame too. There is no repetition of the flame. I love it. The remote is so handy. The controls are so easy to use.
I like this for the quality of the flame. It feels sturdy. The only downside is the remote. It does not have a very wide field of detection. If it had been placed so you can use it at any angle across the room it would be perfect. But having to stoop down in front of it is an unnecessary problem. Doesn’t detract from it being good.

Love this little stove. We have a Baxi gas fire but it’s not only expensive to run but sometimes, you don’t want heat, just the flame effect. I love the fact that the Tango stove has a coal bed with a mixture of plastic and real coals. The log effect beds can look very fake whereas this, with a smattering of real coal, looks amazing, even when it’s not on.
I have put an Amazon Echo Dot underneath the unit (a 2nd generation dot slides very neatly underneath so you can’t even see it. The globe style 3rd generation won’t fit) and I tell it to play ‘open fireplace sounds’. It’s brilliant! With just the flame effect and the Echo Dot playing a spitting fire sound, the overall effect is fantastic.
I’ve not actually used the heater element at all as I only really wanted this for the visual effect. I’m really, really pleased with it. Only wish I had a spare wall to put it against so I could add the pipe to make it even better looking!

I only bought this for the visuals but the remote packed up within a couple of weeks. I even replaced the battery but it still didn’t work so had to return( at my own expense)

Love this stove. Flames are very realistic. Fan heater set back from the front so it’s not the first thing you see. Bought a stove pipe, too, and it looks like a real stove. You can hear the fans going but mine is not overly loud. A real fire isn’t silent running either – just different. I would buy again.

We like the fuel infect and just have this on and it makes the room warn without having the fire on but when we do have the fire on it soon warns the room up money well spent. Have not used the remote control yet so I can not comment.
Like how it has made a once cold room much more cosy….

I researched this fire carefully and wasnt let down. It’s great, looks lovely, there is a flame only setting. Kicks out some heat which obviously makes some noise but I expected that. Remote only for flame which is very realistic. Glad I got the fire
Beautiful fire with smart lines, looks impressive in our sitting room. When the flame is on it makes the room feel really cosey. Would definitely buy again.
Great little fire and looks good when on. Dont use the heater as only for visual effects. Could do with more coal for fire bed!! Lucky I had some and looks even better. Added the chimney pipe to finish the effects.
A great addition to my home which now makes the coal fire redundant.
This is a wonderful little fire. Just having the glow on makes the room feel warmer. It warms the room up quickly while waiting for the central heating to kick in. Very happy with this purchase.

The most effective artificial flame. Heats a large room very quick. Remote control, only controls flame light, so not really necessary when you have to manually put other controls functions on.
Classy looking heater that kicks out a load of heat. I have it in my conservatory and even when it’s freezing outside after about 15mins the room is lovely and warm.

I love the cozy feel that the “flames” give to my living room, even without using the fan heater. So much easier and cleaner than a real fire and so convenient.
Generally an excellent little fir that does not look cheap and tacky. I was replacing my old one with the same model. Nevertheless although it came very well packaged, the remote was split in half. I phoned up Amazon for a replacement and they were incredibly helpful with a part refund. Thank you for great customer care!

Personally I don’t think it’s needed but as it’s in the box the least Dimplex could have done was to make it a quality component, rather than something which frustrates the user and does not, more often than not, fail to achieve its intended purpose.

I have a good gas central heating system, so i only needed a room focal point and this is FABULOUS for that.The fire is SO realistic that a couple of weeks of useing it,i’m still getting a “buzz”
Bought this knowing very little about fires. You won’t be disappointed. Looks like a real coal fire. 2 settings and brilliant heat from it . Would defo recommend

Neat, smart, efficient and good quality. Just what I was looking for. There were cheaper electric stove heaters, but on the basis of recommendations I chose this one. Very glad I did. Cosy in winter, easy to store in warmer weather.

This is a well designed, sensibly sized stove that throws out excellent heat with a quick press of the remote controller. With the attractive fire display it is a very effective addition to my living room which it heats rapidly and economically

Lovely little stove bangs the heat out.. Just pop the coals inside and plug in… Yes there is a wurring noise but it’s got a fan to distribute the heat.. Value for money

Great product , lovely looking piece and a good beat for my double room.
We live in Ireland and I ordered it 2 days ago; it arrived this morning, well packaged and completely put together (we did not even have to screw on the legs like all cheaper heaters need doing). We took it out of the box and plugged it right in – perfect. Both doors open and there is a fairly realistic flame effect on the back, with a hardly visible pattern. There is a plastic bed of “glowing coals”, and 3 small bags with about 15 pieces of real coal were in the box, which can be placed on the plastic bed for a more realistic effect. All over the inside back wall, there is a mirror which displays the fiery glow when switched on. When switched off, the mirror is visible, but as it is low to the ground, you have to stoop down to see it.
It is already fitted with LED lights for the fire (environmentally friendly and cheap) and I have not found a door to replace them, but I suppose LED bulbs are long lasting and probably don’t have to be replaced. The button for manual on/off switching and the 2 heat buttons (one for 1kW and one for 2kW) are placed low on the left side of the unit, and there is a remote control (complete with fitted batteries, black, about 2″ long and very slim) which switches the stove on and off to the last setting it was set to. In other words, if it is set to 1kW heat output and switched off, the remote switches it back on to that setting.To switch the unit on, the glowing fire comes on automatically, so it is not possible to have the heat on without the “glowing fire” look, but it is possible to have the glow on without any heat output. Soundwise it is exactly as loud as a small fan heater (and slightly louder on the 2kw setting) because this is essentially what it is. It throws out an amazing amount of heat; our living room is 6m x 7m, and it warmed up immediately. It is higher off the ground than other heaters; I kept checking the temperature on the floor underneath the stove, but it did not make the floor very hot at all and the heat is thrown out along the bottom front only. I was also worried about the on/off buttons to be hot to the touch, but they are not affected by the heat at all. It switches off automatically when it gets too hot and this is a safety feature and can’t be adjusted manually; after a few minutes it has cooled down enough to be switched on again.
At 16c per Irish kW hour, this is much cheaper to run than brickets or coal in a fireplace. I have one complaint (which is ridiculous I admit): The polished “Dimplex” logo is very shiny and large on the (pretend) ash drawer so that this might have to be covered somehow. A cute, stylish, effective heater and super safe – a friend of ours dropped by as we had just plugged it in and asked if we got a new “real” stove, so it looks really realistic (at first glance anyway). I would definitely recommend.

I know it’s all in the mind but just seeing a flame makes a big difference. Strikes me someone is missing a trick not making a product with just a flame effect as most homes now have central heating.

Wanted it to heat a 12 by 12 foot room that we would use frequently. Wanted a stove effect to fit in with the dcor. Wanted something that wouldn’t cost too much to run.
Previously had a stove effect fire, which turned out to be some cheap made rubbish, so this time wanted one that was of a decent build quality from a brand that is recognised.
Observations
Overall it looks the part.It looks realistic and the flame effect certainly looks more real than other makes we have seen. It looks quite realistic when looking at it from an angle.
It heats up the room really quick. There are 2 settings so you can alter the heat if required.
Energy a rated so reasonably efficient, cheaper models I found use up a lot more electricity.
The make Dimplex have been around for a long time and have a good reputation.
It comes with an on/off remote control for ease of use. However it appears it only works if the remote is directly in front of the fire.
You can hear the motor running when the fire is on, but it is not loud or intrusive and is easily hidden by any background noise.
At 129 quid, its not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive.
Worth checking the dimensions for this stove as other makes and models we found are different.
