I bought two of these for each of my boys one is about to start band the other has been in it for two years. These are a good quality for the price, one came missing the 3rd valve ring to hold the trumpet but it’s a cheap part to buy. Over all it was a good buy for the price and they sound good to
I still had to go an buy a Yamaha trumpet for my son, this thing broke in less than 6 months. DO NOT BUY for kids in school band. Now if you have a 5 year old that just wants to mess around and not play professionally this is it. Toy trumpet for sure.
Bought this for my son. He had an older trumpet that he wasn’t too fond of. This one he loves! I bought the blue and he absolutely loves the color. He loves playing the trumpet now he has one he can be proud of!
This is an ideal trumpet for beginners. Lovely sound. Love the case which can be carried in different ways – backpack, shoulder strap or normal carry handle. Comes with cleaning kit and oil which all fits into case. All in all perfect kit for starting out.
My son loves playing trumpet and has just started taking private lessons. We decided to turn in his rented trumpet and get him his own for Christmas. Guess what he found while walking inside from school today? His new trumpet, thanks to the giant “TRUMPET” on the box. Could’ve been a little more subtle. Early gift I guess.
I am definitely not an expert. I’m a total beginner. But I was very pleasantly surprised with how this trumpet was packaged, the accessories it came with, and the sound quality. I can’t wait to learn!
I purchased this knowing it was a cheap trumpet, which could mean SOME issues. I can say it’s a pretty instrument, and came well packages and we’ll handles. This is definitely a student horn though, and if you’ve played for a while like I have then you’ll be able to tell it.
Any issues? Not really. I know there is a small leak somewhere on one of my valves, but that’s an easy fix really. No noticeable damage, super clean, and the nickel finish is GORGEOUS. I will probably customize this trumpet to my liking before trying another brand, and eventually give this one to a student that needs a good instrument.
Four stars over all. Good sound, good quality, esthetically pleasing to the eye.
My son is starting 7th grade this year and wanted to play trumpet. This trumpet is great for beginners and comes with all the cleaning products as well!
Not much to say other than this was a great purchase as a beginner (haven’t played in over 30 years). Did some research and the Eastar ETR-380 seemed to get generally positive reviews. There will always be defects and other manufacturing issues but no complaints from me, mine was spot on. Came with a decent case, cleaning kit (including cotton gloves) and valve oil, all I bought extra was some slide grease. Gave the valves and slides a once over before playing and it was god to go!
If you want a good sounding budget trumpet for a beginner (child or adult) this is a really good option.
I have been playing since 1965 and besides my Schilke, the sound in this inexpensive trumpet is very crisp. DO NOT use the valve oil supplied. Buy a higher quality oil. The spit valves are so so but that honestly is my only concern. It’s a fun horn to play.
Nice instrument but I had to fix the spit valve as it was hanging off.
