Best alternative to a tumble dryer if you don’t own one. I hang my work clothes and towels ect. … on the clothes dryer with the Ecoair underneath and set it on high for a couple of hours then set it on a slow dry and leave everything to dry overnight. Its cheap to run and quiet too.
No more water running down the walls or Black mould in my house. The Ecoair draws moist air in and blows slight warm air outwards. Something I couldn’t live without. No more sour smelling clothes either.

It works well with several automatic features and different programs. We have used it mostly in our bedroom, and it aids sleep by dehumidifying the air and cleaning it. It is quiet and efficient.

Okay, we’ve tried this for a few weeks, so I’m ready to write my review. We live in a reasonably sized two-bedroom house, but it’s rented, and the kitchen is too small for a tumble-dryer. We considered getting a condenser dryer, but there was nowhere to put it, and we were looking at 250+. So I looked online, and saw that some people were using dehumidifiers to dry their washing. For some reason, our washing was taking 5+ days to dry, and we’ve only got space for one load to dry. Since getting this dehumidifier, and running it for maybe a few hours a day (only while we’re home), the clothes are dry within 2-3 days, meaning the washing doesn’t pile up and drive you crazy. We’ve only used the laundry option, and it works perfectly. A great solution to modern living problems.

I’ve had this dehumidifier for over two years now and it is fantastic. Our 3-bed house is very prone to condensation (we don’t have a bathroom extractor fan or an outside venting fume hood for the cooker). This dehumidifier sucks an amazing amount of water out of the air, keeping us condensation free. The timer and ability to run at low temperatures means we can leave it running for a defined period after we’ve showered and left for work. It also dries laundry in about 1/4 of the time it would normally take to air dry.

In terms of noise, you may be able to run it at night in a smaller property, but possibly not if you’re a light sleeper. I think this is fairly common for all dehumifiers though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis machine has really saved the day. We have a small bathroom off the bedroom and a significant problem with mould and damp that was getting into our clothes and the cupboards. Having this on during the day and on maximum when we shower makes a significant difference, with the bathroom drying off 10-15min after a shower. We leave it off at night as it’s noisy and to save electricity. Overall a fab machine, highly recommend it. Am scared to see how much electricity it burns (first month using it) however I guess it’s worth it for a damp free room.

What I really wanted to award was something like 3.5, but I have given it the benefit of the higher rating, since it deserves a bit more than a ***. This dehumidifier has so much going for it. It has a neat, clean design that includes a convenient fold-away carrying handle. There is a range of settings that are easy to adjust and select. It comes with a good, clear printed manual: oh – and a two year warranty. It is really frustrating therefore to discover that it has no means at all of seeing what the humidity level actually is. I know that some of the older/lesser models included that, so the omission is difficult to understand. We have had to buy a separate meter. You might ask: ‘Why not just let it run on automatic and then switch off/down when the humidity is lowered’. Well, there are two answers to that. One, there is no way of setting the humidity level that you want. Second, it appears to be quite expensive to run – more so than we had expected. A final grouse is that the water collection tank is pretty small. It does the job, though so on the whole we are fairly satisfied.

I have had the EcoAir now for a little over a year and I wish I had had bought it sooner. I was, at first, a little worried about the running costs of this and although I still don’t know how much it costs to run, I have not seen a massive increase in my energy and I have it running 16 hours a day during winter months sept/October to March ish. I use the full power option for 8 hours and it pulls out a full container of water and I do this twice a day. It is a little noisy but no more than the air con when you are on holiday. I sometimes use this to dry my washing in summer and it does actually dry it using the special dry option. All in all, I would recommend this product, if you follow the instructions on how to use it you cant go wrong. I have seen a significant difference in the amount of moisture build up in my home and the musty smells have gone too.

    Great dehumidifier!

I have used dehumidifiers for the past six years. The first one, bought by a landlord who wouldn’t take advice, was working with a condensation mechanism and had phases like a fridge. It was very noisy when changing phase and it would wake you up at night if in the same room. On top of that, it would blow out cold air and was not that great during the winter months.

After moving out, I purchased the previous model which wouldn’t wake you up at night even if in the bedroom (at the lower speed) and it was great to go back home from work and find the place quite warm (at least not freezing cold in winters). However, two years later it stopped sucking water from the air. I researched a bit and I was not the only one who had a unit where the warm air resistance stopped working just a bit over two years (after warranty expiration).

Both my lady and I really liked it and decided to take chances on the newer model ( EcoAir DD122FW-MK5 Classic Desiccant Dehumidifier with Ioniser and Silver Filter, 7 L – Blue ) and we are very happy we did.

EcoAir seems to have improved the quality on the DD122FW-MK5 as we have had the oldest for over three years now and used it daily.
We bought a second one over a year ago for a different place and we don’t stop recommending it to friends and family.

    It’s great for drying clothes!
We keep it in a room where clothes are hung and close the door. Most clothes dry properly in 6-10 hours. Winter jackets or big bath towels may require more.

It is great during the winter since it works with warm air and warms up the place.

I can’t really compare our utility bills with and without it, but we’ve always had lower bills than our neighbors (same internal area/volume) and used it daily for most part of the year.

Buy with confidence and you’ll be amazed at how quickly it will fill the 2L tank!

It goes without saying that I have no affiliation with EcoAir. I’m just a happy customer who loves the product.

I simply can’t believe just how much water this machine is extracting. I only run it when I’m in (and awake!) but over the last three weeks I’m getting 2 litres every 12 hours on the automatic setting. It is a little noisy at the moment so I’ve banished it to another room and left the doors open, but I have tried it on the “maintenance” setting, which I’m hoping it will go on soon-ish and that is quieter. It’s easy to empty and light enough to move around if needed. It was also very easy to set up and to operate.

Our bedroom has suffered with dampness for sometime now, so we decided to try this dehumidifier and we were not disappointed. Initially we left it on all day and had to empty the water container several times. However we now only leave on for a few hours a day and it seems to do the job. There is an automatic cut off when the water tray is full which is handy. I wouldn’t say it was quiet and would not use when we are sleeping. It does have a slight odour when using but all worth it. No more damp bedding or clothing and the room smells so much fresher.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersContext: I live in a small, one bedroom flat.
This dehumidifier really clears all moisture out of the flat. We have it running most days for laundry, but it also completely dries out the bathroom after a shower, and stops any condensation on the windows (we used to have huge puddles on the windowsills when we moved in, but now – nothing). It has a timer (which is useful for when we leave – we just leave it running with the doors open and it works across the whole flat) and a laundry setting. It was taking us 4 days to dry a load of laundry and now it can be done in 4 hours!

Drawbacks: on the ‘high’ setting, it’s noisy for a small flat. The ‘noise’ is just like a really powerful air conditioner, so it’s possible to sleep through it overnight. It’s most noticeable how noisy it is on high once you’ve turned it off!

The other drawback: today, 4.5 months after we bought it, it has stopped working for no apparent reason, it just won’t turn on. I have registered my warranty (2 years free!) and am waiting to hear back from Ecoair – will update with an outcome.
Tip – register your warranty as soon as possible!

Great product. Moved in to 3 bed bungalow which had been empty for 1yr, Problem with windows running with moisture in morning. After running the dehumidifier for a few days the problem has gone. Now just use it for half a day in winter occasionally to keep the moisture at bay. could do with a bigger water holder but that would make the device bigger so we are happy to empty the reservoir a couple of times each day – reduces as moisture leaves the house. Would recommend this product without reserve.

Nice neat unit but spoilt by power cable exiting at the side rather than being hidden round the back. Works very well but wish there was some way to tell when it was dehumidifying rather than just monitoring – then fan seems to go at the same speed. I would have thought it would be quieter and more energy efficient to drop the fan down to a slower speed for monitoring, we would a least then know what it is doing. It is generally quite quiet (shows around 40dba on my meter from 3 feet away on low) but not as quiet as I had hoped. We can still leave it on all night on the landing and get to sleep though. Also think it should have a digital display for current humidity in the room too as some cheaper models have. On the whole I would buy again.

This is a brilliant product. It has been pulling 1-2L out of my home daily since I started running it and the mould marks and damp patches have definitely receded. The clothes drying setting is great for people who have to hang their washing up indoors.

It doesn’t seem to do anything at all unless it is on high though, not sure if that’s a fault or if there isn’t enough water to pull out any more on low.

It is small enough to fit in a corner out of the way and I am not bothered by the noise but it does make a noise that may bother others. I live in a noisy environment and it’s like a white noise machine to me. Also, it kicks out quite a lot of heat, which is useful at this time of year, and the angled hood means you can direct the warm air upwards or towards yourself. This could be a problem in the summer as if I leave the door closed the room gets very warm indeed over the day.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOur 1920s house is single skin construction, no room for cavity wall insulation, and although the windows have been replaced, the smell of damp persisted. As an initial strategy, I used a hygrometer to assess the relative humidity (between 68-88%) and purchased this de-humidifier to see if the problem could be addressed. After setting the machine to 50% humidity and using it for three days (only a couple of hours a day and only on the low setting), the smell has disappeared from the room. I have emptied the water reservoir at each use, and have been amazed at how much water is being removed from the space. I will keep using it and will then move it to another room to see if the smell there can be tackled. I guess it’s a regular process rather than a one-off but hopefully this means that I can delay stripping off and replacing the old plaster.

After much research I decided on this model and must say I’m really impressed with the results. It has made a noticeable difference and I have monitored the humidity drop in various rooms of the cottage.

The amount of water it collects is insane – I leave it on a timer setting during the night and I wake up to drip free windows! It costs between 5-10p per hour to run depending on whether you have low or high setting, so it can add a bit to your bill if you were to leave it on for long periods.

The results in my opinion however are definitely worth it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI did a lot of research before finally plumping for this little baby. I don’t understand all the teccy stuff so relied on what other people had said. I need it to regulate the humidity in a medium sized high ceilinged room because I have a grand piano that needs consistency in this regard. We have another dehumidifier for the house but because I have cats and need to stop the little darlings sharpening their claws or playing slide on my piano top, the door remains firmly closed. So. This arrived promptly and was easy to set up. I liked all the options and settings. Very clear display. Light to carry. Don’t have any problems emptying it. It does make some noise but not an overpowering one by any means and certainly doesn’t set your teeth on edge. Within 24 hours the room humidity dropped from 69 to 55 % and that was on the economy setting. After several weeks I’m still happy. Definitely recommend.

I live in a flat with metal-framed windows. I live at street level, so limited opportunity to have windows open unless I want security grids galore, so inevitably condensation is a problem. Add in laundry drying because I can’t do it outside and the need for a dehumidifier becomes a necessity rather than a “nice to have”.

My original DeLonghi dehumidifier finally died on me after years of trusty service, and after a disastrous flirtation with an Amcor (which didn’t even last 6 months before it gave up the ghost… no way was I going to make the same mistake twice.

This EcoAir is the perfect replacement for my DeLonghi. It is reasonably quiet (none of them are super-quiet when they are doing their job), and effective at keeping the moisture at bay.

It is fairly light, it has a handle for both the slide-out water tank and the unit itself, making moving it and emptying it much easier.

Removing the filter to clean it is simple to do – I just slide it out and vacuum off the fluff and dust that accumulates. The tank does need to be cleaned and disinfected from time to time to make sure nothing nasty starts growing in the tank.

In winter with condensation on the windows – it clears them efficiently (but not instantly). At any time of the year it speeds up drying any laundry you have to dry in the home. All in all, for me, an indispensable home comfort.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery pleased with this so far. Our central heating packed up and using electric fires until it’s fixed seem to cause a whole load of condensation on the windows hence the reason for this purchase. It seemed expensive but having researched the fact that dessicant dehumidifiers work at low temperatures when others don’t, it seemed the only option as our house is more than chilly at the moment. Really surprised and pleased at how much water it sucked out of our bedroom and am now using it to dry off (hopefully) scuba diving stuff that has been hanging around and annoying the wife in the bathroom. One thing, it really isn’t clear that all lights go off and it stops working when the humidity level selected has been reached. My wife thought she’d broken it until she ploughed through all the questions and answers on here and discovered the answer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad a problem with mould in our 2 bed flat. Having spent hours researching we opted to buy the Eco Air DD122 classic.

We have been running the product on full since purchase.

    Results after 5 days:
Living room: before 65 degrees after 50
    Bedroom: before 80 now 55
Kitchen: before 85 degrees now 55
Bathroom: before 95 degrees now 60

As you can see the results dont lie. I can comfortably say our humidity problems are now under control. Its also brilliant if you dry your clothes indoor which was a great added bonus.

Anyone looking to get their humidity levels under control look no further. Great buy!

I have a new build and moisture in a new build is common. Has removed a large volume of water from my 4 bed house. Just by placing it in a central location upstairs.
I was suffering from “hay fever” like symptoms every morning even with low pollen counts and I don’t really suffer from hay fever anyway.
After running this for one night no more sniffles and sneezes.
I had it on auto to start but to be honest the eco mode will do the job and keep the running costs down too.
Easy to move around… and easy to empty the water tray. Simple to operate.
I have a humidity gauge and it was reading nearly 80% humidity this took it down to 60->65%.
Used the clothes drying once but we have a dryer now so don’t need that feature much now.

It is just an update to my previous review including pics and a video.

Even after 4 years, it works as good as earlier. Now, that I have become a father, I become more careful about how the atmosphere is where my kids is staying or going. We have been using it regularly especially in winters. My favourite is to use the 2 hour timer in combination with the swirling movement of the fan.

I wasn’t sure of buying it… but I use it everyday!!!!!! It leaves a nice smell in the toilet, where I have it, and the mould has disapeared from the walls, not completely… of course this does not make miracles, but the walls are cleaner, without mould, longer than before, I have seen other comments about the noise, it is not a problem for me, I leave it on when I finish my shower, so I am not in the same room.

I recommend it, it works perfect for me.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have been living in a rented garden maisonette for 3 years. The only bedroom has rising damp which has not ever been addresses beyond cosmetics. I have been living with mouldy carpet, damp sheets and smelly clothes in the wardrobe until now. (Try finding an affordable rental home that allows a dog with no issues…the house that is not the dog….the dog is fine.) ! I challenge anyone! – Anyhow; I have accidentally stumbled upon the idea of Desiccant Dehumidifiers. Never new there is such a thing. After reading the reviews here on Amazon I decided to give it a try. It was the best decision I have made since getting the dog. This ‘Simple” device is light, unobtrusive and about as noisy as hotel airconditioning. I put it on full power for 12 hours and I woke up to a dry room with comfy temperature. It blew out warmish air that undoubtedly aided the drying process. My only wish is that I’d found this device sooner!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFantastic product, really helped our condensation/damp problem, and you can really tell how the air quality has improved. However, we had to send our first unit back because of a leak directly above the water tank, causing the water to collect on top of the tank and excessive moisture under the tank that required wiping each time we emptied it. Something to look out for – there is a black rubber/foam seal around the plate above the water tank inside the unit, this had dropped and the water was leaking from around the seal. Might be worth checking this out before you use it. New one is totally fine so far. Humidity meter will read 78% and within 30 mins on turbo will drop to 65% and temperature will have gone up a few degrees. Really pleased with this product, definitely worth the money.

Returning the product was so easy! Requested a return around 9pm, it was collected the following morning and the day after that the new one came! Really impressed with Amazon’s returns

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis does exactly what you expect of a dehumidifier. It works even at low temperatures, so ideal for the typical shivering UK home!

The highest setting pulls out water at quite a remarkable rate; this was very handy for creating conditions such that wall painting dried out much faster than without dehumidifying.

The price is about right for this unit. It’s as quiet as advertised, but even the low setting is distracting at night; certainly not one for sleeping in the same room as it! Corridors etc are the best place, but remember that to dry adjacent rooms effectively, you do need to keep bedroom doors quite wide open – so the noise isn’t reduced as much as otherwise would be the case.

Overall, I can’t fault it for having some noise, but one imagines that a slightly slower, third fan speed option might be an idea for future iterations.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been through many dehumidifiers in the last 15 years living in an old terrace house. Of all of them, this is by far the best.
The bucket is squat, which makes you think it’s small, or will spill, but the design means it hold a lot of water yet is easy to lift out and empty.
The unit (empty) is half the weight of units of comparable size.
The economy setting is incredibly quiet but efficient, and while the clothes drying setting is noisy you can almost see it sucking the moisture out of the air!
The shape of it is far friendlier than other models which tend to be rounded and bulbous, this fits snuggly into a small room much better because it is square.
Overall it looks good too, although I wouldn’t pay an extra 50 to get it in pink!
It’s been running well in my house for 6 months so far, and because it is so light its no burden to move it around to where its needed most.

Does exactly what it is suppose to. I had mould all over the walls of my place and I needed a solution. First i cleaned all the walls with bleach and then I started using the dehumidifier. At the beginning it was always on, and it kept collecting liters of water. Then when the house felt drier I turned it on only at nights. It is two years now that I have it, and the mould never came back again. I never had any problem with my dehumidifier, I would definitely recommend it. I also borrowed it to my friend, who was pleased, but because of the price, she decided to buy a cheaper one… well it didn’t work (it was only collecting 50ml per night) and she eventually bought this one. Ok, it is not the cheapest option, but it solved my problem in few weeks.

I love this machine. When it’s wet and cold outside, we can do as much washing as we like (three loads if we want to even), and we just hang all the wet clothes up in the loft, switch this machine on and the next morning it’s all wonderfully dry. No need for an expensive tumble drier (which is bad for your clothes anyway), and best of all – no damp, no condensation or mildew on on windows, or unsightly pants hanging around on radiators!

No idea if the ioniser actually does anything mind you, but who cares.

Really – if I was in charge I’d give every household in the land one of these.

This item is brilliant, does a great job. It is not quiet, but not loud.
It does a great job of drying the washing when hanging in a room and the timer and programs are great.
I like the set it going and leave it to do it thing. It is much cheaper than a tumble drier.

We have had it a while now and it still does the job brilliantly. Do read the instructions before using it, as it has many feature that you need to know about. Like shutting off when the water container is full. (If you are not using the optional waste water pipe)

One thing I will point out is that when you press the off button be prepared for it to take a little while to turn itself off as it has a shutdown routine.

This item is brilliant, does a great job. It is not quiet, but not loud.
It does a great job of drying the washing when hanging in a room and the timer and programs are great.

So glad I splashed out in this. Initially bought a cheaper one from aldi for our ensuite. It didn’t do much but this one is great, it dries the room quickly & has solved the damp patch that kept appearing in my bedroom in winter. Don’t need to use in summer as the window does the job but it’s essential in winter! Highly recommend it.

I couldn’t manage with out it, purchased to dry laundry as I’ve 3 house mates and font want the house to look like a Laundry shop! It dries the clothes over night whilst we sleep in a small utility room. The only downside it leave black dust on the wall & black cobwebs! I now need to repainted the room. It worked well up to 10 months then started to do its own thing, switch it self on to different modes and switch it self off. When I eventually realised it was nothing I was or my house mates were going the years warranty had run out. I contacted the company and they couldn’t of been more helpful. They arranged to collect it and run done tests and repaired it and sent it back all free of charge and it working wonderfully super impressed with their customer service let’s hope it lasts fingers crossed.

This dehumidifier is a workhorse, it reliably removes moisture from the air at any temperature, I have it in my workshop for keeping the humidity low through the winter. It collects around a couple of pints on average depending on the humidity, it’s not something you would want to have in if you were going to be trying to sleep in the same room as its a bit noisy but so much more efficient than the fridge element type dehumidifiers. Worth the money when I think of the value of the tools and building that it’s protecting from moisture

We searched around for ages, reading loads of reviews and decided to just take the plunge with this one.

It is great, we live on a 1930s Dutch barge and condensation is a big issue for us. We had an old dehumidifier which was doing an ok job but it was big and noisy. This one is much smaller and quieter (not silent but for the amount of water it takes in, really very reasonable).

This has a laundry drying function which is its noisiest one but it really does the job. We use cloth nappies and this function has dramatically reduced the amount of time it takes to dry them.

    Would definitely recommend

This is our third dehumidifier of this type which says it all really. We live in a ground floor flat and it is necessary for us to dry our laundry indoors. This product not only helps us to dry the laundry much more quickly and reduce heating bills but also prevents mould growth. It performs these functions very quietly which is important for us as it is situated within our open plan lounge/kitchen. We have tried out compressor type dehumidifiers but have been obliged to send them back as they have been impractically noisy for a small flat. This model’s quiet efficiency definitely makes it worth the expenditure. My only criticism would be that our second model of this type started to leak towards the end of its life which meant messing around with pieces of cardboard and various other devices to catch the water until we could afford a new one which was a real pain. That said, all such devices fail eventually, especially when used 24/7.

Am really pleased with this dehumidifier. Very effective, especially during the winter months. Has helped to almost eliminate black mold in bathroom especially around shower edges and under shower sealant. Much more effective at removing humidity than simply leaving a window open. Also great at speeding up laundry drying times. A full washload of towels on a clothes-horse will be dry in about 9 hours and about 1.5 litres of water captured in the reservoir. That’s water that is now not circulating around the flat, nor condensing on my windows, penetrating woodwork, plaster and furniture or being breathed in. A mixed wash-load will be dry in about 7-8 hours and still around a liter of water captured. I find my flat is warmer as the unit does pump out warm air but as a result I am using the central heating less. My only criticism is that the unit needs a cable-tidy or some kind of cable-wrap feature so the power lead can be stowed neatly and out of the way when the unit is not in use. The best I can do is wrap the cable around the handle but it is not ideal. Noise levels are okay: when on full power it is like a large free-standing fan on full power. It;s okay, but you wouldn’t want to have a conversation or watch the TV with the unit on full power. On the lower setting it is no nosier than a standard desk fan on slow speed and can be on in the same room with no intrusion on conversation or TV. All in all. I’m happy I bought it and it gets used every day.

I know some reviewers have gone in to depth on how much the running costs are on the use of this product, I haven’t. I had this unit running over winter 2015 – 16 usually overnight from 8pm till 6am if it hadn’t automatically switched off from filling, roughly most nights then occasionally all day at a weekend. I didn’t notice any significant change in my electric bill. I live in a 2 bed flat, good windows, no internal or external damp problems but in winter when you cant get the washing on the line there is excessive moisture in the air. This unit is perfect. It has easy to use dial settings on the top, its easy to empty and put the filling unit back, and its an ideal size for the flat. When it wasn’t in use it would go in the wardrobe. I have seen some shops offer different types for less, but this one has definitely done a good job so far.

Where to begin! Wow, just wow. This little puppy is amazing. It has eco mode, medium and full power modes, dependant on how much water you want to pull out of the air over a set period of time. (I recommend buying a cheap digital humidity detector too from Amazon at a few quid or so).

So, our house is rented. Our house has a rubbish roof. Our house is damp. The humidity gets up to….Drum roll please!………72%. Wow. It SHOULD be between 45% and 55% (Maybe 60% at max, all % are for UK only)

This little bad boy gets it down from around 70% to around 45% in approx 2/3 hours on the high setting. However this is a bungalow so all rooms are on the same floor and the unit is positioned centrally in the bungalow to affect all rooms. I’d guess for a house you’d have to leave it downstairs for a few hours and then move it upstairs.

Now the noise of it, it’s quiet. Very quiet. It’s not silent but it’s quiet enough that on a night we can sit down to watch a film with it still on high and it not be a distraction.

The power consumption in about 500kw ph on high and 300kw ph on eco, so I think….think that is around 20/30p per day from around 8am to about 8pm. I may be wrong on that working out and it depends on your tariff from your supplier. I think it’s worth paying that for a dry house personally.

I recommend this unit fully, and no I’m not paid to give it a glowing review it’s just a great little dehumidifier.

    I recommend this product.

Absolutely fantastic dehumidifier. Some great features on it such as the 2/4/8hr timer and the various automatic options.

Definitely made a difference to the air quality in the home and although we never had big damp problems, the slight blackness around windows hasn’t come yet.

Only criticism is that it’s a shame the water tray isn’t more capacious as when using the drying clothes setting (in particular) it can fill up in less than a day. It is particularly good at drying clothes (and not to a crinkled crisp like our old Delonghi!)

Waiting for the price to drop a bit and will be buying another.

    A surprisingly awesome product.
At first it had a peculiar smell because of the desiccant, but that gradually faded away in a month or two. Or maybe our noses got accustomed to it. Doesn’t matter, the smell is gone, so it’s not as big of an issue as other reviews say it is.
It has multiple functions which are awesome. The dryer function for clothes is fantastic. We use it, when a big pile of dirty clothes needs to be done, but we have a limited space for drying.
For regular dehumidifying job, it has two stages as well. The lower stage does the job and the noise is in the tolerable zone. Of course this is my personal opinion and my view is to rather have a bit noise in the house then black mold.
Most of the negative reviews mention the product breaking early on and such. For me it still working after almost half a year and it basically working all day. I only turn it off when I go to bed.
I would strongly recommend this product, if you have the money to spare and in need of a good dehumidifier.

After discovering that I had a damp problem in my house, I read long and hard about the various solutions. Came down to the decision to get a dehumidifier and then spent hours reading about every possible dehumidifier under 250. I read that this one was the highest rated on various websites that seemed to know what they were talking about and unlike other companies the reviews online didn’t all seem to be by people who had them sent to them as gifts by the manufacturers in exchange for a “fair and honest review”!

Things I liked about this in the description were that it was lightweight so could be moved around easily ( as I wasn’t about to get a few of them), quiet, looked okay, had a dryer function and had an ionizer function. Things I didn’t like were that it was apparently not as great as a compressor and I was tempted by the higher model for the better filter and aromatherapy oil dispenser. However, I read that the filters were expensive and people tended not to use the oil dispenser so I chose this. The “small” water compartment didn’t concern me overly, but I noted it.

So I set it up (just got it out of the box, took the tape off the water compartment) and turned it on. Instruction manual was minuscule. There were no unpleasant burning smells and have never been. It gives a nice “fresh” ozone smell as you would hope. I put it on “auto” with the humidifier next to it and it went into high power mode (sounds like a hairdryer… you wont sleep through it… unless hairdryers put you to sleep) and quite quickly started lowering the humidity of the room from the high 60’s down to under 50 at which point it turned to “quiet” mode which is like a fan. I am a light sleeper and don’t think I could sleep with it in the bedroom. My wife has made it very clear that she can’t (and she isn’t a light sleeper) so its no good for the bedroom. Besides, the blue light is a bit bright for that to be honest.

I tried using it in the hallway, but even there it is disturbing and because it needs to be out from the wall by 20 cm (as it sucks air in the back) it would get in the way. So I use it before sleeping to reduce the humidity in the upstairs before bed or to deal with a specific room. I’ve also used it to dry out wardrobes and trouble rooms (bathroom and toilet) and its doing a great job with them. Humidity throughout the house is much reduced and I no longer get condensation in the morning and overnight I’m getting up to 60% humidity in the bedroom which although higher than I would like is a lot better than over 70 which it was before.

I’ve also used it for drying clothing and its been brilliant for this. Yesterday I had to unexpectedly wash and dry a double bed including the duvet on a very rainy day with no tumble dryer. I thought I had no hope, however this little thing was brilliant. It had dried the duvet in well under an hour (sucking 2 litres of water out of it in the process as I had to empty it at the end). Its really, surpassed my expectations in this regard. No idea why it has a “lower” dryer setting as I can’t think why you would want to take longer drying clothes, but I might be missing something. Not really using any of the “louvre” functions aside from “all around” either.

As for the small water tank, its never been an issue. I empty it about daily, but could get away with every 2/3 days usually, but I love opening it and being amazed by how much its sucked out of the air. On auto its very responsive. I just open the bathroom door and it goes into overdrive as it detects the moisture.

As said, its too noisy and bright for us to use it in a bedroom overnight, but it can draw the excess moisture out of the upstairs air (3 bedroom) before we all settle down. It also speeds up drying inside (1/2 a day max) and doesn’t leave a load of damp in the house afterwards. My asthma has much improved and I’m no longer coughing. I’m stupidly pleased with this, which is good as it was a lot of money. Sucks up way, way, way more water (about a litre per 6 hours on auto) than those useless disposable things (which I have a few of) and is very effective at keeping the air at the optimal humidity.

This dehumidifier unit has been fantastic over the winter. We live in a house with no vents in the windows, and no extractor fans. Opening the window in winter just cools all the surfaces so water condenses on to them – so if you are cooking, having a shower, or drying laundry indoors, you will quickly end up with a damp house.

This dehumidifier has dealt with all of these problems. We were starting to get problems with mould – it brought them under control. We were having difficulty drying clothes in a reasonable time – it really speeds up the process, and stops them smelling damp. It has also got rid of window condensation in the mornings, and excess moistre from showering and cooking.

The instructions say to leave the unit in a central location (we use it on the hallway or landing). As it dries the air in this location, moisture moves to even out the distribution, causing more moisture to be drawn towards the unit (GCSE/O-level science reasons I assume).

The unit has a humidstat to allow you to set a preferred moisture level (including a ‘laundry’ setting for permanent operation). The top vent blows out gently warmed, dry air when the unit is operating too, which can help speed up the laundry drying process. There is an ‘eco’ and ‘turbo’ mode, we normally use eco. The resevoir holds two litres, though the unit can easily draw more than this out in a day, but has an automatic cut off when full. The unit also comes with a tube for continuous drainage if needed – but in that case it might be best to get an industrial drier. The resevoir easily slides out of the base of the unit, and has a handle to carry it. The unit also has a filter for catching dust, cat hair and the like.

In terms of cost, it probably could add between 15-25 to your electricity bill in a month if used regularly on eco on a medium setting – but set against the cost of damp damage and the health issues around damp mould, this is worth paying if you can.

All in all – a great unit.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersBought this mainly based on the other reviews. Glad I did. A superb piece of kit Installed it on the landing of our 4 bed house on the Sunday and on Tuesday morning had to empty the tank. This was running on automatic from around 8am till 9pm. Now, another week on and humidity is down to 48% and stable. The instruction book has a very handy section which explains about why we need to have a certain amount of humidity in the air. As with comments from other reviewers, it works best if you leave your internal doors open; moisture will migrate naturally from any room towards the machine. I am so impressed with this device I bought another for our caravan, which after being closed for the winter had mould growing in places when we went to open up. I left this one on the kitchen worktop on automatic constantly while we weren’t there draining through the supplied pipe into the sink. When we went the following week to check on it, the difference in the air was amazing. The mould had all but disappeared, and the air felt, well, dry! Very impressed with this machine, highly recommended.

I am so pleased with this purchase. Our house had always suffered from condensation and mould and I wanted something a bit more industrial than the plastic boxes of crystals on the window sills! I have not been disappointed. The unit was plugged in (on eco) for the majority of daytimes over several weeks. I was emptying the reservoir daily and was astonished by the amount of water it was collecting. It was only really after a couple of weeks that the volume of water collected started to drop. We had apparently been living in a sauna! Now, I open the window blinds an there’s barely condensation and the mould battle has been won! The unit was also useful in helping to dry clothes inside the house – very useful indeed. Just a brilliant little machine.

Purchase made to replace another manufaturers dehumidifier that stoppped working. So far this unit is performing better than my old one ever did, is is quiter, and does not have an unpleasant smell. On the first use there was a slight smell, but the next day after 16 hours use the smell was gone. All function are simple to operate and the auto humidity function works well. Use to dry out a car that had windows left open in an over night rain storm. The fist day two litres were removed the second about a litre, the next day just a small amount probaly just atmospheric moisture. The car feels dry. Used to dry washing in a drying room, which it does very well. The water tank cover is a little fiddly to get back on, but that is my only very slightly negative comment. The unit is well made solidly built simple to use.

I read much of other peoples reviews, which convinced me to make the purchase.

First 24hrs it sucked in 7lts of water on high settings from Conservatory/kitchen area, it kept me busy empting the tank as it holds 2lts, I now have the drainage hose provided, plumbed to a drain After first week it lessened in the volume of water sucked in to it, thankfully. avg 2-3lt per day on low setting. When used for drying laundry it is great, everything dry within a day. The air in the rooms it is located in, is both a lot warmer and smells fresher. I have two indoor cats and when they drop bombs into the litter tray, the rooms becomes colourful in fragrance, this products clears the air in minutes!

Overall thus far I am pleased with the purchase and even more so, when bought at the reduced price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReally pleased with it and took advice on the type of model to buy from helpful reviews here as this type works in all temperatures and this is for an empty property that is not always heated.

Moisture issues commenced as a tenant had not adequately heated the property for some time. Levels of water extracted were astonishing. I was hoping it would shrink back swollen doors. Whilst I did notice some difference this was much slower than I would like so I got them planed instead. I only have it on when I am at the property as I do not want to leave it running when I am not there. If I lived there I would leave it on 24/7 and think the doors would have shrunk back eventually. It did very quickly extract moisture from walls. I will use it in my own home for conservatory or smokers in future. Wish I had bought years ago. Also have seen a review saying it is fiddly to empty I found no such problem. The collection box is easy to to remove and replace as it simply slides out like a drawer and has a cover and a handle to carry it. Just let all water complete dripping through for a few minutes after turning off to minimise drips when removing especially on carpeted areas.

This has helped our condensation problems so much, I’m really pleased with how simple it is to empty (it’s covered and has carry handle, so no spills ever), it’s so simple to use and is compact enough to move around from room to room and take up very little space. It’s surprising how much it can remove from rooms you thought were ok or only had a slight problem. It removed a tankful in about 8 hours on average but our porch that was very damp, filled it in a few hours. No need to worry about it overfilling, it automatically switches off when tank full. I research for months to find the right dehumidifier for our circumstances and I am not disappointed.

I think these dehumidifiers are brilliant, the various settings allow you to control humidity levels and fan speed. The laundry function is brilliant. I bought this one to dry out a room after a roof leak and it did the job very well. It is relatively quiet. We have one running on our landing with all the bedroom doors open and everyone sleeps fine. You wouldn’t really want it on next to you while watching the television but it really isn’t much of an intrusion. I run mine through the winter continuously, it switches itself on and off according to the humidity level. It keeps the mold on the window silicone at bay and we have no mold in our bathroom as a result of having it on. The container needs emptying once to twice a day depending on humidity but you can have it continuously draining if you have a suitable location for it.

Very easy to use, takes out huge amount of water everyday.
We wash the clothes in the evening, use the clothes dryer option and the clothes are dry in the morning.

Comes with a tube to apply on the dehumidifier in case you want it to be constantly on and your not there to empty the tank.
Takes out good amount of dust from the air, which is nice to clean it every now and then.

I read lots of reviews, and I thought about paying a bit more and get something good.
I haven’t regretted my option since I bought it. It is a great dehumidifier.

Edit: 3 and half years later this still works wonderfully. Takes as much water as it took in the beginning, the mesh takes huge amount of dust. Honestly, this is the best purchase I’ve ever made. Just be careful to put the filter inside, sometimes it doesn’t enter correctly within the line and goes inside the dehumidifier, it is hard to take out and it will eventually break if put incorrectly several times.

The smallest dehumidifier I have ever bought but works really well. Temperature makes no difference as it shouldn’t with a silica wheel. The collection tank isn’t large but it usually takes 12 hours to fill so I can empty it twice a day with the full light on only occasionally. Full power is clearly to loud to sleep with even at the end of a corridor off my bedroom but on low it is very quiet and seems to collect very nearly as much water as high power – don’t ask me why. I am getting 3 to 4 litres a day with it outside the kids shower room – always a damp place! And it has made the whole top floor much more pleasant without that slightly cloying damp smell. Really pleased. Will get this again when I need another.

Bought this as having a condensation issue in my bathroom and when looking into these a few people said they would recommend this Dehumidifier, I have now used it for sometime and it has cured my issue. I put it on just before I go for a shower and switch it off after its been running for 10mins or so after I have finished my shower and I no longer have the mildew issue on the bathroom, I also have not noticed a huge increase on my electricity bills but this could be due to the fact I don’t leave it on.At the same time of buying this I also bought LCD Digital Temperature Humidity Meter and this helps to gauge the Humidity in the bathroom and allows me to know when it has come down enough to be able to switch this off. It also has a great capacity to store the water it has collected which mean you don’t have to keep emptying it every 5 mins, Great purchase and it has saved me form having to get a builter in to try and install and extractor that would possibly not have worked anyway.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have just fitted new double glazing throughout our 3 bedroom house and to keep windows and door condensation free, we needed a good but less noisy dehumidifier. This products reviews were very good, so I ordered it, and received it promptly in the 3 days as guaranteed by the seller.

We switched it on and kept it running overnight. The next morning there was hardly any condensation on any of the doors or windows, since temperatures overight went down to -2. I know we shouldn’t get any condensation with brand new double glazing, but you can’t block our all water vapour completely.

I thoroughly recommend this dehumidifier to anyone considering buying one especially for its compact size and hardly noticeable sound. I love my EcoAir dehumidifier. To top it, it also has a clothes drying function and an Ioniser for cleaner air. Awesome.

I live in a 2 bed flat; this sits in the hallway and I have it on at night. More often than not, the tank is full in the morning.
My partner suffers from COPD and we have found that his breathing has improved by having this on at night.
I have also used the unit in my son’s room which always seems cold; the tank fills up after just a few hours, so its obvious that the cold is down to the damp in his room.
I love the laundry setting which is great in the cold weather; we don’t have to use the dryer or have the heating on and clothes can be washed and dried on the same day.
The unit is quite apart from when the fan is on, however, it’s not that loud and soon shuts off.
The unit has 3 timer settings which is good if you want to leave it on whilst you go out during the day; it also has an ironiser to clean the air.
A brilliant unit which is highly recommended.

To give context, I’ll talk about my first dehumidifier, the EcoAir DC202, which is fantastic, but after two years of use and two regular replacements of the filter later (@ around 25 a pop with p&p) I decided that I didn’t really need the ioniser / deodoriser features. It’s a heavy beast too, albeit with a great 4lt water bucket, but I found it bulky moving between shower room and sun lounge in the winter months, albeit on a flat-floored bungalow. It also doesn’t cope well with low temperatures, entering “defrost” mode far too often, and has to warm itself up on the coldest of nights, even mid-way through dehumidifying.

The EcoAir DC202 can be set to turn OFF after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours, or remain on permanently, and you can set it to turn off when the humidity reaches between 40-50%, 50-60% or 60-70%, but it won’t turn itself ON automatically, and I’d rather the thing do its job automatically when needed.

So, the above are the reasons I was looking for a new dehumidifier, which turned out to be the EcoAir DD122.

    Pros
o It turns itself on / off based on your chosen target relative humidity level. The rotary dial approach allows precise tweaking.
o It is easy to carry around (*).
o It is ‘slightly’ less noisy than the EcoAir DC202. I can sleep with it on, but the DD122 may still be too loud for some.
o Works when the ambient temperature is 1c or higher.

    Cons
o The water bucket (2ltr) could be larger, but I guess that would make the whole unit bulkier.
o Sometimes there is a slight “smell”, a common side effect of desiccant humidifiers. It doesn’t overly bother me, but I can’t say that I like it.

(*) I ended up buying a second DD122, so I don’t move these about now. One is in the shower room (pulls just shy of 2ltrs a day) and another in sun lounge (pulls 2ltrs every 3-4 days), both turn themselves on and off as required.

I cannot recommend this dehumidifier enough.

This review is after a few days. I was in the market for a Dehumidifer and after looking at various reviews and product specifications I decided it was probably worth the risk to spend a bit extra and get the MK5 model, mostly because it seemed to include everything I wanted. The ioniser, digital display, continuous hose and timer options. After a few days I’m very pleased with the purchase. It just a few hours it transformed my cold 70%rh damp musky smelling office into a 47%rh pleasant healthy environment. The difference is amazing, the room feels pleasant, the natural temperature has increased and the air smells great. As for sound, on the economical setting it runs fairly quietly. I used the higher setting to start off and it was fine.

I purchased this after reading the reviews and must say I am very impressed. I have used it a lot in the 3 weeks I have had it, it speeds up drying the washing indoors and has so far kept condensation at bay but it hasn’t been really cold as yet. Another good thing is that it produces a small amount of heat so takes the chill off a room when full heating isn’t required. I only use it on the highest setting after showers and it removes an huge amount of water. I am hoping this will keep the mound under control this winter as I can completely dry out my smallish bathroom out in about 40 minutes.
UPDATE: 1 year and 3 weeks on the product has developed a leak and leaves puddle on the floor but Amazon have advised they are happy to refund which will enable me to reorder another and will hope that this was just a one off.

This is a fantastic product. First 1 hour of usage in economy mode it got about 130 ml of water in my house (A 3 bed semi). Emptied the container and put it on turbo mode for 1 hour 35 minutes and it got about 650 ml of water. Second night on same turbo mode for 50 minutes it got about 300 ml. It’s definitely doing a great job so far as I also get condensation on the windows when the weather is cold. So far has not seen any though the weather is not too cold for these two days. Maybe still too early for praise?.
Time will tell as I will update it if anything changes.
But I’m so far happy with the item

Bought it for 130 almost a year ago and even seeing it on a lightning deal today for 100 doesn’t upset me as I’m so pleased I’ve had it for the past year. It had really helped to control the condensation I was suffering from in my bedroom every day last winter which in turn helped stop mould growing. I was having to wipe down the windows every morning and this has been amazing.
I have also really enjoyed using it to dry my washing now that you can’t really hang stuff up outside. Tip: try and arrange your airer/clothes hanger in such a way as to block air escaping on all sides except the one, then place the dehumidifier on that open side so that the hot air is blowing out into the gap. This then means your airer traps the hot air and your clothes dry faster, while allowing the dehumidifier to collect water faster in less time thereby using less electricity.
Only potential drawback of this is that it doesn’t have a digital readout of the humidity levels. However, the dial has settings and you simply select what you’d like it to be and the dehumidifier will turn itself off once that has been achieved.
It’s not too loud in the energy saving mode and if you set it up to turn itself on at a certain level of humidity before you go to bed then, assuming it is already below that when you fall asleep, I doubt it would wake you.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe have a three bed detached house built in1935. During the autumn/winter we find that some cupboard doors start to stick and we have had mould spots on some of the wooden furniture. After buying this a month ago the cupboard doors are no longer sticking and the mould spots that were cleaned off have not come back. It was on a lot to start with, 20-24hrs a day on high or low, and we emptied over 60litres of water out in the first two weeks. (We had it on high if we weren’t around or it was in a different part of the house and low overnight downstairs.) Since then it has been on when we feel we have needed it. We have not had the RH down below 50% anywhere and it seems to settle between 55-65%, so we would probably either need a bigger dehumidifier for the house or need to leave it on high for longer. We’ll see how this goes over the winter but may invest in a PIV system for the future.

I think it’s a fantastic piece of equipment and only loses a star (at this time) as I’ve had to ask for a replacement. Puddle of water underneath the unit which has marked my flooring. Leak not coming from the Water Collector as tested this separately, but might have been some mis-alignment with where the water drips down into the collector. Sat completely level so not tipping or leaning in any way.

Arranged exchange via Amazon with ease, can drop off at Collect+ and looking forward to getting the new unit as has been fantastic at sucking the excess moisture out of my house. If the new unit doesn’t leak, it will earn that final star.

Edit:- 11/12/2105 – 5th star awarded as 1st unit must indeed just have had a fault. No leakage from replacement and continues to do a great job of maintaining the humidity in the house. Definitely less of a wet feeling around the house due to drying clothes, baths, etc. Some would say just open windows, but then the house is freezing and you are then creating cold surfaces throughout the house. Heating is on less as a result of this unit.

I would like to leave a proper review as really like this product when it actually works but can’t!. Recently bought this as have a condensation problem in our 2 bedroom house. It works very well. However after a week it stopped working – it wasn’t collecting water, it started to produce only cold air. We returned it without any hassle (thank you amazon) and got a replacement delivered next day. As soon as we took the new one out of the box and plugged it in we knew it was faulty again! It was rattling so bad my 3 year old run upstairs scared. It’s almost like someone dropped it in transit. We tried to re-position the tray, put it on number of different surfaces but something is clearly not working properly inside. Has anyone had this? I’ve just ordered another replacement and return again hoping for third time lucky, because when this dehumidifier actually works its amazing.

I had a leak in my room and needed a dehumidifier to dry it out. Initially bought a smaller cheaper dehumidifier – it was practically useless. Went for this dehumidifier and its a massive improvement!
    Pros:
    – Compact enough , about the size of a rather thick briefcase, easy to carry handle
    – Not too noisy – gentle wooshing sound
    – Most importantly – does what it says! Extracts moisture from surroundings- for me after 2hours there was about 250-300ml in the tank.Obviously this will vary depending on operating conditions.
    Cons:
One selling point is the ‘silver nano filter’ which is supposed to kill/filter bacteria, spores, dust etc….however it looks quite flimsy and I doubt it will be able to purify the air much – but that’s just my opinion.
One thing of note, a desiccant dehumidifier like this will be able to operate efficiency at much lower temperatures compared to so called thermoelectric types.

I have my MK5 now for 2 weeks. Straight out of the box I was impressed with its design, light-weight and ease of use. I was/am equally impressed by it’s performance. I leave it on in economy mode overnight and empty around 1.5litres in the morning.

My concern is over a buzzing noise that has developed. It is infrequent, unpredictable and short but distinct. It reminds me of the noise that those UV insect killer lights make.

Perhaps this is nothing to be concerned about and easily explainable. It may have been there from Day 1 but I don’t recall hearing it until a few days ago.

Should I be concerned? The machine is still functioning and extracting moisture from the air. Should I switch it off and contact seller? Any advice?

In our bedroom its 85% humidity , so we had to look around for a Dehumidifier So many to choose from all different bands names a nightmare what to choose, many of the dehumidifier have up to 10,15,20 litres of water an hour but what they don’t explain is they start at 30c /80RH for that mount of water from the air, But here in the UK we don’t have our heating system on 30c well I don’t anyway, and our weather is not at 30c many are tested in the far east temperatures, so in the end we choose the model EcoAir DD122 MK5 Desiccant Classic Dehumidifier with Ioniser and Silver Nano Filter, looks nice and works well,.

I didn’t write a big review because we only got it for one day

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe bought this having had problems with mould for years on the bedroom windows and particularly in our bathroom and we wanted to find a solution to the problem but can’t quite stretch to getting radiators fitted upstairs at the moment. We have been using it for a few weeks now, we have it on the landing and the bathroom and bedroom doors are left ajar all night. The bathroom window has always run with condensation every morning as it has two outside walls and the only, very small upstairs radiator, since having the dehumidifier on (8hrs overnight on the timer, economy setting) the window is dry and there is no condensation on the bedroom windows either. I have taken to standing the washing in the spare room overnight and it cuts drying time down meaning less time drying round the radiators. It is relatively quiet and didn’t take long to sleep without noticing the noise, there is no smell from it since the initial ‘new’ smell on the first couple of nights and it also has the bonus effect of heating the upstairs with warm air too. Highly recommend and hope it lasts for years!

Condensation be gone!!!! Before I owned one of these marvellous little machines my mornings consisted of wiping all the Windows and windowsills down and wringing out the cloth, before the mould could set in. Not any more!! It is sooooo satisfying to put it on overnight and in the morning pour all that water down the drain in one fluid motion 🙂
I would not be without this machine it has literally changed my life and my winter clothes drying problem. Very happy.
Ps hasn’t caused that much of an increase in electricity usage either…I’m very frugal and would happily pay the extra money for the convenience of this machine, but we havnt noticed that much difference. I’d say we use it for about 16hours a week over the winter months when we can’t dry clothes outside.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersDid my homework on dehumidifiers and why we might need one – apparently there is no point in opening windows to air a house if it is damp outside. Simple, but I never thought of it. Unless it is high summer or a lovely spring day, by and large here in Lancashire – and most of Britain – it is damp. And central heating does not dry it out.

I cannot believe the amount of water that must have been hanging around in the air – this thing rocks. Three hours of running it and the tank is three quarters full – litres of the stuff in a couple of days per week. We do not get any mold behind cupboards or drawers now, the house is warmer and I can now tell when the air feels clammy because this dehumidifier has enabled me to tell the difference between that and comfortably dry. And is has an inbuilt ioniser as well as different settings according to your needs. An investment.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery pleased.
Rooms now don’t have a slightly musty smell they used to.
I use in bedroom most mornings for about an hour on medium setting and it collects 1/2 to 1 pint.
First time I used in my flat it took over 2 pints during about 8 hours on medium setting.

It is quiet, like a fan heater.
it blows back warmed dry air.
It looks good and is compact.

It would get 5 stars if it had a timer(not a big problem).
And when I carry it with the handle,it doesn’t appear to hang flat,
rather slightly angled,so I support it by placing my thumb on top to steady it(not a big problem).

You can hear drips entering collection box sometimes which is nice to hear it doing its job.

Not had electricity bill yet but am expecting an extra 10 a month,2.50 a week.
If so,well worth it for a noticeably better living environment.

It works perfectly fine, so far. I have no complaints.
It fills up very quickly, but that’s a good thing.
The rotary selector could have been more informative, but I have found that an optimal setting is slightly past the mid-point, where the area with the double drops begins.
As others have pointed out, it’s best to have it at such a setting and keep the switch on the low-power setting, in order to save on bills. The massive wattage might scare you but keep in mind that the above settings will keep the device from running continuously. So if it’s running on and off evenly throughout the day, that means the power consumption is cut in half already. So try and find a setting that suits your needs.

I like the 2-year warranty, I hope the manufacturer is good for it.

After being woken up by sneezing fits day after day after day, as soon as the cold weather came to Scotland I’ve decided it’s time to buy a dehumidifier. I spent days doing research and changing my mind many times as to which machine to buy, I settled on this one. And boy was it a good choice. It has been working beady 24/7 in an unequal battle against daily cooking, washing, and nearly 100% humid Scottish air. And it’s doing a marvellous job. My sneezing disappeared completely, so much that I’ve stopped taking nasal steroids. And still no sneezing.

It is set to auto during day, and well – we’ve seen it step down to lower setting only once. That’s how much humidity we have in our apartment. The difference is enormous though. When I come in from cold weather outside my glasses no longer fog up. The air is much more breathable. The water no longer condenses on the windows.

We also use it to speed up clothes drying, and to catch up moisture before it spreads around flat. It’s not speeding it up enormously, but the clothes smell much better, and the fragrance gets carried arrow do. In the clothes drying mode it fills the 2L tank insanely quickly – one set of clothes usually means two full tanks. And before all those 4 litres of water would end up in the air.

Highly recommended product. Well worth its steep price.

I bought this product because we have damp circles on the chimney breast in our bedroom and my partner who is asthmatic started to develop a nasty, chesty cough. We put it on for about 2-3 hours a day on the high setting. It’s amazing how much water it collects! I hope this means it’s working, though it’s too early for us to tell if it’s helping my partner’s asthma. I also put it on in the living room on the laundry setting, when I’m trying to dry the washing (we don’t have a tumble dryer). I think it helps to prevent condensation forming on the window from the drying washing, and also dries the laundry faster. The product is a light, neat machine which isn’t too much of an eyesore and which we should be able to hide away in a corner in the summer when we won’t need it so much!

I use it in the loft & have it plumbed out of the wall via a hosepipe so I don’t have to worry about emptying it.
I have had several dehumidifiers and for the money I think it is one of the best. It is efficient, stylish, not too big, quiet & easy to use.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it cannot be used on a timer. It means I have to go up into the loft, up steep stairs daily, in order to turn it on. I think leaving it always on constant might be too expensive to run. I admit I don’t really think too much about running costs as I would rather things stored in the loft did not get mildew. I chose this model as it is able to run at very low temperatures, which occur in the loft in winter.
I will probably turn it off if the temp. got to freezing, as a precaution. I have had this model for several months now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was bought nearly a year ago to try and cure a bad problem of condensation on a window. The condensation was damaging the paintwork and rotting the wooden frame. Used this all through last winter and even on the coldest nights it prevented condensation from forming. This has allowed the window frame to dry out and be repaired and repainted, the room also feels drier too. I run it overnight on its lowest setting in a closed room using the built in humidistat and have found it not very expensive to run. I think it is well made and does not make too much noise when working, about the same as a fan heater, so could be used in an occupied room. There is a slight smell when it is working (presumably from the crystals) but nothing too offensive.

Excellent product! Works well even in our large victorian house and not too costly to run.

The timer function could do with some extra settings (2/4/8 hrs are all you get) and it would be really nice to be able to fully automate on/off (you cannot use an external switch to turn off as the system needs to run down to prevent excessive wear.

UPDATE: Even after many months of use, this product is still excellent. It is well worth getting something to measure humidity though as it isn’t always obvious how damp it is. At the end of the summer and into the autumn, we tend to have ours on 24hrs a day and it doesn’t skip a beat. You should be aiming to keep humidity to between 40% and 60%.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen we wanted to buy a dehumidifier I trawled the internet review sites ad nausium to see which best suited our needs and when I decided to buy this little beauty I was not to be disappointed. Very versitile in its operation allowing different settings for airflow, a timer for allowing you to set and forget and settings for very humid conditions. Its been appalling weather recently and our utility room has been rammed with washing recently but after putting the EcoAir in there with the washing it has kept the moisture right down and made the drying time mush speedier. Handy cut-off switch when the container gets full and light enough to move easily around the house if you need to. It can sit at the foot of the stairs and is powerfull to manage both upstairs and downstairs for us.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe machine was smaller than I thought it would be so was a bit worried but when I started to use it I was amazed. The thing just sucks water out of our house. We were having issues with damp and black mould after a bit of a flood from a bay window and at another corner with a leaking gutter, the mould growth has halted. Having 3 young children pretty much ever night is bath night and the fan in the bathroom can’t seem to cope and again mould was forming, but not anymore. I did a lot of looking about and reading reviews until I finally said sod it and just bought this one and so glad I did. It is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. It has been running pretty much none stop for the last few weeks without an issue. I was really starting to worry about the damp and mould in the house, with black mould spores said to be cacogenic but this compact little unit has saved the day. Only down side is that on warm days, the warm air from the unit can make the house a tad hot.
