Not getting a 5* as the cover’s zip has been badly sewn in to the point I can barely unzip it. Otherwise good pillow, gives a good nights sleep very comfortable.
as it says on some reviews this pillow is quite hard but I’ve slept like a log this last two months since buying, there is definitely a difference in hardness side to side and i prefer the softer side.
It is flat as a pillow but just what I needed for front and side sleeping. If you like big pillows don’t go for this

I bought this pillow off the cuff when browsing,bought when on sale. struggled sleeping for years with neck pain, the first week with the pillow was painfull, just because I think my neck was getting the correct support. Aft the first week my neck pain has gone for good. No more neck cracks and trapped nerves. It has been the same ever since. Highly recommended for anyone who has neck and back pain.
Neck has stopped aching so although very expensive and not very comfortable it has helped neck
I’m that kind of person that needs to change pillows every other week and never found the one… Until I went to visit my sister and I tried this pillow! Oh my goodness! Amazing, simply amazing! I have one in my house now, bought one for when I visit my mom’s house, my mom has bought one for herself… I’ve been using it for around 4 months now and I haven’t had neck problems, back aches or needed to change it! A dream! 😉
I was fortunate to try this pillow out & loved it. I knew I had to purchase one for myself.
I have had difficulty getting my head in a comfortable position each pillow I’ve tried gets lumpy after a while doesn’t matter how much I have paid for it. When I received this one I thought to myself how am I going to sleep on this it felt so hard. But was really surprised just what a good night I had. Now I wouldn’t want to be without it. It gives my head and neck such good support. I highly recommend this pillow.

I’ve been using this pillow for 3 weeks now. I have terrible posture and suffer from neck and shoulder pain. I read about making a transition to sleeping without a pillow and thought I would give this a shot. I am a back and side sleeper.
On first use I thought it might be a little firm, but I quickly got used to it as I stuck with it. Having used it for 3 weeks I can definitely say that having gone from two duck down pillows to this, I have noticed a definite improvement in my neck pain. It’s firm, but you can flip it over for a softer side if needed. I haven’t bothered trying to take out any of the layers and have stayed using the firm side.
It fits nicely into a standard pillowcase.
So far, so good.
Adjusted it to be lower from the start as to high for me. Its a weird pillow hard, not something to buy if you looking for a hotel style comfort, BUT I suffer from neck ache and have not had one problem since purchasing it (although only a week or 2 into it).

Well I have trief a few mid range MF pillows. But most fall to pieces or lose shape and have odd smells that take ages to disappear.
Well I snagged the Emma during black friday and now several weeks later I am happy to report there is no snag, droop or failure at.
So the quality is excelllent.
It’s a very traditional size and shape MF pillow. Its quite thin so most people might use this as a top pillow in a set of two.
The pillow had a very mild scent from manufacture which was gone in 24 hours of opening. Which is great for memory foam as some stink for ages.
Like most MF pillows it arrives vacuum sealed so you need to give it a few hours to regain its shape and due to clever construction it has dual use sides. WIth one being more firm and the other softer so would suit most peoples needs. You can flip it to suit your Mood vs say wanting to sit up and read with the firm side or lay back and chill with the softer side.
So the pillow really does compete with some of the high end brands that charge double the price.
So pretty decent pillow to be honest.
First pillow was damaged, but no problem with replacing. 2nd pillow no issues. Very comfortable and totally helped with neck and shoulder pain.
It only looks like sponge in middle, but it is very comfy, 1 side is slightly firmer than the other, seems very slight, but 1 side suits me much better. Its about the 5th Pillow in 2 years – finally have a very comfy one!
I bought this for my husband as he was keeping me awake snoring – he hasn’t snored since! It’s very firm so he does use a slim, soft pillow on top but it works perfectly.
I think with pillows you just have to try them out and see what works and what doesn’t. This one was just slightly too hard but works great to prop me up in bed for a last drink and read. What helped me was neck exercises which I do regularly. The pillow isn’t always the problem.
We’ve had Tempur mattresses and pillows in the past. Brilliant quality but ‘s; so we tried Emma.
The mattress is marvellous so when the Tempur pillows became “tired” we opted to try the Emma pillows.
This is a first review at the start of the Emma trial period. First impression is that the Emma is less yielding when you place your head on it. Not uncomfortable, but you’re not going to sink into it. If you’re hoping for a pillow with “squish” this is not for you. Pillow Height: The Emma states that you can customise their pillow by amending/removing the layers however there is risk that by removing layers you will make the pillow too low. Side sleepers may have an issue with this. I’m going to use the pillow in its default setting before commenting further. (Review to be amended as the trial period continues).
Firm and comfortable, unfortunately wasn’t quite high enough for me, could have done with another layer on top. Returned and 5 star for customer service.
By far the most I’d spent on pillows before, but had tried from John Lewis and White Company and they all start off nice then all the filling migrates to the edge and you’re left with an indent in the centre – which resulted in fitful sleep.
I’ve had these pillows for 5 months now and I’ve gone from waking multiple times a night, having to readjust the pillow to try and get comfortable to rarely waking and sleeping right through most nights – it been a great purchase so far and hopefully it continues and maintains the shape.
It is very firm, but that’s what I wanted as I’m a side sleeper, if you lay in your back (or one of the weird people who sleep on their front!) not certain it would suit as well.
Amazing! Managed to get them in a sale at half price making it great value for money. Took a few days to get use to but really only need the one pillow and you’re all set. Husband really likes his too. Fit standard size pillow cases. Firm but soft and they mold to your head, neck and shoulder.
Very firm and comfortable, helps keep my head in one place which helps my CPAP mask stay on. Very happy with it.

The pillow itself is exteemely comfortable, however, the quality of sleep will be very individual, as i found using just one of these pillows wasnt high enough for my personal liking.
Been using these for a while now, and to honest nothing special, they are on firm side and quite low so not the best if you have large shoulders and want to sleep on side
Not for me. I wake up with a sore neck each morning Have tried to get used to it but doesn’t work for me. I have resorted back to my old pillow.

I have neck problems so I thought I’d give this ago, wish I had done it sooner, no more neck and shoulder pain, it took a couple of nights to get used to the flat pillow, but now fantastic, wonderful, highly recommended.

This pillow is quite firm, but since I am looking for support while sleeping on side, it proved perfect for my needs. Very happy since I started using it.
Amazing. I have a memory foam pillow that is also very good, but this matches my mattress. And it’s as good as I hoped for.
No more neck / shoulder pain (not that I got that with my other memory foam pillow) and it’s a pleasure to be able to lie in bed reading.
Would I recommend it? Yes – without hesitation. Especially as you can alter the thickness by removing some of the filling (it’s a slab of memory foam). I haven’t done so, as it suits me as it it, but it’s nice to know that I have that option if I need it.
I had a minor issue with my delivery and it was more than fixed.
Now I have the best pillow i could ever imagine. My advice to everyone is get an Emma pillow.
Like the Emma mattress it seems a bit firm at first but is actually very comfy and doesn’t need plumping.

I bought these after buying an Emma mattress which I love. The pillows are so comfy. I was uncertain about buying them as they’re so firm but I’m glad I did. I sleep on my side mostly & use all 3 layers which is perfect for me.
Comfortable pillow, I liked the idea of being able to swap the layers round to find the most comfortable combination. I am a side sleeper and feel comfortable using this pillow.
Pillow is comfy, nice size and shape. I like the slanted sides which allow you to alter your head position. It’s on the firm side but has some stretch so not rock solid by any means.
It has 3 layers which you can adapt to your preferred height and firmness. I took the middle layer out which reduced its height which suited me. Washable cover is a bonus too.
The only thing I disliked about the pillow was that I thought that it was slimmer than I would have liked.

I’ve been ill lately with a dental abscess and was still able to get pretty comfortable with these things, my only complaint is that they don’t have a magic amulet that would stop my occasional (drunk) propensity for drooling like a St. Bernard downwind from a barbecue. Aside from that, excellent!
I’ve been looking for the perfect (for me) pillow for several months, and have bought and tried several, but none of them were quite right. This Emma pillow has ended my search. It is perfect.
It arrived vaccuum packed, and once opened, I left it a few hours to plump up to its full size. There is a slight odour to it, which went after a couple of days. It has 3 layers, which can be removed to achieve the right firmness and height for you. One side is slightly firmer than the other. I am a side sleeper, need all 3 layers, and use the less firm side. I use a cooling pillow protector (bought elsewhere), which prevents my head from getting too hot.
I have always had memory foam type pillows, so I am used to how they feel. With this Emma pillow, for the first time in months I have had a full 8 hours uninterrupted sleep, with no back or neck pain either.
All in all, absolutely delighted with this pillow, and relieved my search is over.
Unlike any other pillow I have used before, perfect alignment and I haven’t had a headache since. Can’t stop telling people about how great it is and wished I had discovered years ago…..a big thank you to the designers of this wonderful pillow
Great pillow. I manage to get a good nights sleep now! It is very firm. You don’t sink into it, giving excellent support.
We have tried other memory foam pillows, but this one is much deeper making it much more comfortable for my muscular husband.

Pros: I Waited a while before reviewing as at first I considered sending it back as I had a few bad night’s sleep on it. I read the reviews on here and someone said to flip it over for a different comfort level. Strangely this made a massive difference and I found my neck lay the right way and got the correct amount of support on my head from the pillow. I checked the box and couldn’t see any information telling me about the two sides which I found strange.
Cons: I do wish the pillow was slightly thicker as it is still slightly too thin. Also there is a nasty chemical smell that comes from it but luckily I don’t sleep face down :D.
Thoughts: I think they would benefit if they did two thicknesses on this product as this one is quite thin. It’s a 3.5 out of 5.
So pleased with mattress thought I’d try pillows. I like the pillows they are comfortable. One seems enough per person.
My elderly mother is thrilled with this Emma mattress. She suffers from osteoporosis induced vertebrae fractures and was struggling turning over on her old pocket spring mattress. This can’t reduce the pain she’s in but does make it easier to turn over in bed and gives better support. Wish it was possible for the off-gassing to speed up however – particularly with the pillows which stay stinky for longer than you expect.

Its taken me about 2 years and a lot of money to finally find a pillow that doesn’t give me any neck or shoulder pain. The Emma pillow is excellent quality. It is very firm which I like. It has 3 separate pieces of foam so it’s trial and error how many and what order you have them in.
They take some getting used to but don’t make any snap decisions, persevere for at least a week and you’ll be rewarded with the best nights sleep.
Slightly different firmness to either side, I’ve found each of these equally comfortable.
These and the Emma Mattress are a brilliant combination.
As a fussy side sleeper I was dubious, but the return policy made me take a chance and by god am I happy I did! Never had such good sleep and as a pillow flipper, the added cooling layer is a massive bonus!
What you think of this pillow depends on how firm a pillow you like. For me it was far too firm. I then gave it to my son who absolutely loves it. It is also a very well made pillow and the materials used to construct it are quality. So to sum up if you want a quality firm pillow, buy this. If you don’t like your pillow firm then get something else.
This is without doubt the best pillow I have ever had. Firm and supportive without feeling like it’s a solid block. I sleep so much better than I did before and don’t have an aching neck in the morning when I wake up. Well worth the money.
Seems strange using the one pillow but funny it works does exactly what it was bought for comfortable warm, cool

1 layer for front sleeper
Take it out for what you need and be prepared for to take time to get used to it I had a lot of neck ache until I went down to 1-2 layers.

There are 3 layers of foam inside, all of which are said to do something different. You can remove layers to raise / lower the pillow to your liking. But there is no guidance on what each one does, or what the best order is. I figured out that there are around 17 different combinations that you could use, and there is no advice on which is the best. I emailed Emma to ask, and they didn’t respond.
If you like high pillows, then you are in luck. However, given the uncertainty of how to assemble / stack the layers, I would only buy this if you were confident that you would be using the pillow as it arrives and not be customising it.
This is a firm pillow of a standard (UK) size so your pillow cases will probably fit fine.
It’s firm, not solid but definitely on the former end of the scale. One side is slightly (but easy to notice) softer than the other so you can pick, almost fine-tune, to suit your taste.
It’s not super thick but being firm this doesn’t matter so much as you’re not losing height by compressing it instantly. It suits me well as I’m a back and side sleeper, so if it were any thicker I’d struggle with back sleeping.
The memory foam is responsive, so adjusting your position is always supportive – you won’t be resting on an already flattened pillow, it’ll be as thick as it can be and will ping back into shape quickly.
From removing it from the vacuum packed (and rolled) box, it took circa. 12-hours to be at a useable thickness, but it grew slightly more the following day so give it 24-hours if you can. There is a slight smell at first, which would also benefit from a 24-hour period to breathe.
Overall I’m very pleased. This replaced a Simba pillow which was an incredibly clever thing and a godsend in the heat, but is way too soft for my taste. At a third of the price, this pillow is a bargain and suits my taste better.
I love a firm supportive memory foam pillow and this is the best pillow I have ever bought. Better than my Tempur one. I’ve ordered a second one.

Very comfortable and as it has 3 parts you can adjust it to your personal comfort level. Great price and fast delivery definitely recommend.
I suffer with my neck (spasmodic torticollis), so need a firm pillow but soft to the touch at the same time. Always use to use a second pillow, but with the emma pillow, you don’t actually need that second pillow. I really had a good nights sleep and I did actually breathe better in bed.
Update: I’ve had this pillow now for over 6 months so adding this paragraph to my review as an update. I noticed a small part of the stitching was becoming undone at the zip end of the pillow case. so I contacted the Emma website via email they were really good told them the small problem and they sent me out a brand new pillow and collected my old damaged one free of charge, this took only a few days. They replaced the whole pillow not just the pillow case. . . . . Excellent customer service 🙂
One side is very firm and have had to remove that layer.. the 3 layers inside are great as i can make it higher or lower as i please and have it firmer or softer.. If you like super soft pillows then this isn’t for you but if you like a very supportive firmer pillow this is great.

Like the products but the delivery is terrible! I thought it would be better via amazon, but the experience was almost as poor as ordering from Emma direct. If I realised that Emma were the responsible for delivery, I wouldn’t have bothered!

Comfortable and seems ro relieve my former neck ache. Slight smell when received but a couple of pillow cases resolved the problem.
My hubby was having shoulder problems and this pillow is helping him get a better sleep. He said it is very comfortable and soft.
