I’ll use the expression “Nice and easy does it” as these secateurs have given my wife a new lease of life, making pruning even the thicker stems so easy to cut through.
Marvellous!!
This product is well finished, and the lever action makes for less hand pressure is needed.
Comfortable to hold and easy to use especially being a ‘recycled teenager’!
Really pleased with them.
It’s easy to use has not let me down every. So purchased for my so. Infect might buy more as so so pleased with product. And give to friends. Thank you.
Really sharp and powerful secateurs which are able to cut through thick tough stems quite easily. Very pleased with them.
I did like the gripping handle and the locking device
Comfortable and easy to use but just don’t seem as sharp as first use
Still better than many other brands though
I liked they were easy to hold, catch a bit stiff but probably because new. Cut bamboo and other greenery. Easy to figure out, don’t need instructions. I hate being pushed to write reviews so proves these were good or wouldn’t bother. Thanks. Excellent price too. Can’t be beat.
Arthritis is affecting my wrists and ;these are brilliant for cutting through those branches that I should really have fetched a pruning saw to but couldn’t be bothered! They work like changing gear in a manual drive car and make pruning so much easier.
Have arthritis but found these very easy to use. Very good quality.
It is a fabulous product and I use it a lot as a gardener. It is so much better than the 2 in 1 (broke twice) one so this one is the best. I highly recommended it. Mind you I don’t use that for deadheading roses but using proper secateurs for that. Hope that helps.
Plenty of pruning to do and this was certainly up to the job
Having purchased a useless pair of expensive , well known brand of secateurs .
I saw these Davaon secateurs and took a punt and bought a pair of their Anvil and a pair of their Bypass secateurs and am I pleased I did . They fit my hand perfectly and cut well . Considering that I am lefthanded these are perfect with the added bonus that the 2 pairs together cost less than the well known brand lefthanded secateurs for 1 pair ! !
WELL DONE DAVAON & THANK YOU .
These are a second pair, as I already have a pair, which had belonged to my husband, and he had certainly put them through their paces. I must admit I like these secateurs very much. (I previously used a different brand) They are comfortable to hold, as I have arthritis in my fingers, and I am able to prune quite thick branches with ease. I would thoroughly recommend them, and they are so reasonably priced
Up dated.. First you have to squeeze to take safety catch off (that packed up working on first use). I’m not weak but achieving this used a lot of muscle power. Then there was a click on investigation the hook that is used for the safety catch is fouling the casing. Cutting! I decided to try it out on pruning, to be fair it did cut through some thick branches but the ratchet works intermittently and you really need to put some wist effort in. Maybe I got a faulty item but the build quality is bad. Overall I’m happy with this product, but I would not advise anybody with weak hands to buy. Amazon at least try and get some QC going with these suppliers please.
I had another brand some years ago of ratchet secateurs which had a lot of use but sadly paid the price. I have had to use normal secateurs until I got round to ordering these. Similar quality to previous one and they have already had a lot of use. The ratchet mechanism does mean they can cut much thicker branches than normal secateurs. I have a range of branch cutting tools up to 70mm but these are more handy to use than the larger cutters.
These secateurs are first class. Originally bought for my wife who has mild arthritis in her right hand. She has tried many many secateurs billed as being easy to use. All resulted in her being in discomfort for a couple of days after just a few minutes use.
I decided to buy these after reading the reviews. Normally I take reviews with a pinch of salt but chose to give them a go as they weren’t expensive and appeared to do what she wanted. I’m glad I did.
They are extremely well made and slice through anything very easily with not much effort. When switching to ratchet I was surprised at the thickness of very large twigs/small branches they could cut through with not much effort. A bit like squeezing a sponge dry. Even comes with an oiler attached to the tool.
So pleased I’m buying another soon before pruning season comes around.
I have RA and struggle to do any gardening now. I bought due to other RA people recommending. When I took them out I was disappointed. The way it moved felt uncontrollable. BUT the minute you try to snip a branch that movement is what helps. Much less pressure needed and I find it turns to the exact point to snip, without my wrist doing the work .. after a few hours in the garden my neck back legs arms are in pain but my fingers and wrists arent .. I never give 5 stars but on this occasion I will
These were bought to replace some 20-year-old non-ratchet secateurs. They work very well, ergonomic and very sharp. The ratchet mechanism and control is simple and works well. The only gripe I have is that the oil ‘sponge’ (a piece of felt in a plastic holder) easily falls out of its place in the handle during operation of the shears, so I keep it separately, and still prefer to use an oily rag to clean the tool. They appear to be durable, but only time will tell.
These arrived a good few days before I was expecting them, and boy they really are good. I have rheumatoid disease and I managed to do 2 hours cutting back with very little effort from my hands, which equals less pain. I was really pleased with how fast they arrived, how easy they are to use and at a very reasonable price.
I did notice I’d somehow lost the little oil sponge bit at the end of my gardening stint, I’m sure I’ll find it out there somewhere and it looks like it just pops back in, but these are really great value for money and if you have painful hands or weak (I have both), they really do make the job of cutting back much easier.
protge bien la main.
plus efficace grce a sa poigne tournante.
egalate a mia mamma che ambidestra, si trova bene e sembrano durevoli
I bought these to replace a 30+ year-old pair of Swedish rachet secateurs which finally gave up the ghost. I was a little disappointed as the Pro Switch are very light-weight whereas as my old ones are more robust. I tried the Pro Switch out in the garden yesterday and they worked very well, both on single and on rachet as they cut through very thick wood fairly easily and with not too much effort on my part. Other than their lightness, I found the lock to take a bit of effort to open and close but, so far, I can recommend them as they they do the job. I don’t, however, think they’ll last 30+ years!
Wasn’t impressed with the item when I first opened the packaging – plasticky-looking handles put me off, however, they are strong & super sharp and the (simple flip of a switch) ratchet feature makes lopping medium sized branches a doddle. Good value for money.
I don’t usually leave a review because in this day and age we expect everything to be perfect but I must make an exception not only because the product is brilliant but to commend the seller DAVAON LTD for their pre delivery personal email outlining the care instructions & safe use of the product. This is customer service at its best.
Ottimo prodotto.
Excellent secateurs. The ratchet action is particularly effective for thicker branches. Comfortable to use
and very sharp. Best secateurs I’ve ever had. Not particularly cheap, but worth every penny.
I got these for my wife because she is not mindful with my tools. She damaged several of my small pruning shears by trying to cut thick branches. Not with these! Beefy cutters nice edge on cutting side. The anvil has serration or gnarling to grip the piece to be cut. Very well thought out design and the price can’t be beat.
look good will use this spring on my apple trees
Very sturdy for cutting larger branches.Works well.We will see how sturdy they remain with time…….DS
I’m not using these for traditional purposes I prefer to buy extra long bully sticks for my dog and trim them down to get a longer-lasting stick and save on cost These pruning shears do the trick perfectly great job
I got these to help with terrible volunteer trees that grow so fast. I like them, I worked for over 2 hours straight and my hand did not cramp or bloster. Rotating handle is nice. I wish there was a bigger size also.
These Pro Anvil Shears are amazing. I can even cut through the bamboo on one side of our yard (up to about 5/8 or inch). Nothing I’ve had cuts through bamboo except a saw. I love the grip and the way that the opening is adjustable. Great product! An easy 5 stars
This is a curiously designed set of shears, unique because the lower grip rotates with compression which allows the grip to adapt to the thickness of the wood. I do a lot of trimming of my dozens of trees, and this is the most efficient and comfortable pruning shears I’ve ever used.
I have a large yard and many small bushes and plants to keeps shaped and deadheaded. These are much easier to use than the regular style pruning shears. My hands appreciated the decreased effort. They work well for small diameter branches.
bought for my 93 year olod father—looks like a good produc
UPDATE 08/31/16
Last weekend I used these to remove smaller branches of an overgrown shrub at ground level that were up to 1/2 inch thick so that I could make repairs to a damaged sprinkler system. I liked that the green part on the handle rotated which allowed me a better grip to cut the branches of the shrub.
Original Review
These are great and easier to use. My wife uses them around the yard and my wife loves them. My wife is slightly arthritic and these were much easier to use for her. We routinely cut branches up to 1/2 inch and sometime a little larger. I have an electric chain (pole) saw which I use to take down larger branches up to 8 inches thick and we use this to cut up the branches once they are on the ground to make it easier to dispose of.
freaking awesome, I liked them so much I bought the by pass versio
I bought these shears as a gift for my father who is 92! He loves them and says they are easy to use! Great product !
AWESOME CLIPPERS!!! Love the rotating handle. It allows you to easily keep ahold of it. I can actually hold, cut and use both hands without dropping them to the ground.
Really helps to limit my arthritic pain when pruning. Easy to use. Blades have stayed sharp after several months of use.
I do a lot if trimming and I found these to be less stressful on my hand.
Je l’ai offert mon mari qui est gaucher et qui a des problmes d’arthrose dans les poignets et les mains. Il tait ravi, a lui convient parfaitement.
my mom loves it, so easy to use a great product, she has sensative hands and these work really well.
I absolutely love these pruning shears! I got them to trim an unruly tree by my drive and, being an older woman with not much physical strength, I read the reviews and hoped I would be able to snap off small branches with these. I was NOT disappointed, but happily surprised!! I was able to cut through branches up to and over 1/2″ thick with no strength at all. I also love the way they rotate and the finger protection guard – all these features together make trimming even thorny rose bushes so easy! They are super sharp, which also increases their efficiency. Best shears on the market!
Excellent tool. Easy on the hands but powerful and accurate. I have a chronic hand injury and these make it much easier to tend my perennials.
These are really great secutairs, best I have ever used and I do a lot of pruning over 3500 Christmas trees and a keen gardener.Really comfortable to hold cut through even though branches with ease.I can not recommend them enough.
Quick shipment. But the cutter is a little hard to use
Very nice and cuts great. Not impressed with swivel handle feature; not sure what it supposed to do.
Wow! Bought this cause of the reviews and price. It is great. Took all the branches off of the 7 foot Xmas tree with little effort. Couldn’t believe how easily it cut through the branches. Glad I got this. Now to work on trimming both the lime and lemon trees.
My wife love it! She can cut bigger branches. She doesn’t need me anymore! good product.
Excellent grip. Looking forward to using them more. Locking mechanism is a bit touchy.
Just got them and used them to trim my Christmas tree. A branch that was a good 1 inch thick trimmed so easily. I love the way the handle swivels so as to not strain your wrist. Heavy duty and well made.
cut great, did not make my wrist hurt, cut branches up to 1 1/4 inch with ease
Amazing. If your cutting soft wood or plants you can basically cut anything it can fit ove
The Davaon Anvil Pruner appears to be tailor made for people suffering from the effects of arthritis in their fingers as well as undergoing joint, replacement there. Being unable to garden was such a loss and now, to be able to do at least some pruning has brought a great deal of pleasure. To the extent that it allows continuation of such activities, we have now also bought the bypass partner, too. Heartfelt thanks Davaon!
The one star off is because of how it arrived… packaging was opened, at the top, and someone sprayed oil on the blades (not a bad thing I guess). Since they were for me, I didn’t mind the open package, but if they were a gift, I would have.
Tested them on my overgrown roses, did great. They are not ratchet pruners, in the sense that they don’t cut, then ratchet for the next cut. But they are nice and sharp and work best for green branches that aren’t overly woody. Given the long length, I’d say they were made for pruning thorny plants like roses, maybe jujube trees, holly hedges and other bushy types that you may not want to push into the middle of with your exposed hand. For the type of pruners they are, they work great. So far, I really like these pruners. I don’t know how long lasting they are, but they look durable.
I like doing battle in the bushes with thorns and rough edges but these Shears have a rotating shield…no more bloody hands.
I like a good hard workout with my hands but with these Shears it’s almost effortless.
These Shears look like they should be in a Star Trek movie with their unique design, not in my tool pile.
I let my neighbor try them.,,big mistake. After I got them back he trashed his old ones and went and bought ones exactly like mine.
I wrote the manufacturer with my complaints and he actually wrote me back…,what owner does that?
Good tools always cost a lot, these don’t. What’s wrong with this guy?
You might want to run (don’t walk) out and buy these before they wake up and charge what their worth.
Don’t blame me…I tried to tell you.
These are by far the best pruning shears I have owned. They effortlessly, even larger branches. The wonderfully ergonomic handle is great for anyone with arthritis or other hand issues ~ their design gives your hand the extra boost it needed to get the job done. Great tool!!!
Burly and substantial. For garden tool junkie is must have.
Best pruning shears I’ve used to date bar none! You get what you pay for in this world, and these are worth every penny. You gotta’ love German engineering and seller Davaon follows up with an email which includes an attached owner’s manual (a PDF Doc). Great customer support!
I bought these at the same time as the Davaon Bypass Shears, as a regular gardener I knew we needed something different for our dried out plants and like to have the right tool. These do not disappoint. They are great quality, which you feel straight away and they made light work of anything we cut into. The blade is very sharp and the metal anvil grips better than our old plastic ones. The new rotating grip works and does what was described. It rotates perfectly with my hand grip and makes it far more comfortable and far less strenuous on my hands than the old style anvil pruners. I really noticed the difference when I’d finished as my hand didn’t hurt. The protection guard is also a great feature as it kept my fingers away from some of the rougher branches. Not one scratch on my hands. These are a well designed, high quality pruner that have a lot of power for not as much effort and I’m sure they will last some years. Recommended with out a doubt.
