Quite simply, this is a brilliant little device. I’ve owned three Roombas over the years, (which were a lot more expensive and not a patch on this little creature). It’s quiet, efficient, doesn’t send annoying messages – just gets on with the job, beautifully. It can cope with all kinds of surfaces from wooden floors, tiles to quite deep pile carpets. We live in a big barn conversion with all these flooring types, and the place has never been so clean. It’s amazing how much it manages to pick up, even in areas I thought I’d previously vacuumed thoroughly. In summary – I absolutely love it!
Having bought a fairly robust robot for downstairs I thought I should have an upstairs one that could get around the bedrooms and bathroom easily. I looked at various makes and models and read loads of feedback – there lies madness !! When I bought this one it almost felt like a compromise BUT oh first run was so quiet and efficient and I knew she was female and named her Fiona. She goes about her job quietly without any fuss, apart from the time she found a small plastic bag and beeped for help. I have moved her base several times to find the right spot for it but Fiona goes straight to it when she has finished. There’s not a lot more I can say about her, she’s just perfect.
So I’ve waited a couple of weeks to give it a good trial. I can’t believe how brilliant it is. I have a long standing back injury which is exacerbated by the angle of hoovering, mopping etc. I decided to try this on a whim really & as Amazon had 80 off at the time.
It has literally changed my life, sad? Yeah I know. But I set it when I’m out at work. I work 12 hour shifts and am to exhausted to hoover when I get home at 9.30pm, but when working 3-4 days in a row the mess gets me down. This is amazing, I was planning on still doing a full hoover on my days off, but there has been no need. It’s so lovely coming home to a clean house. I set it to clean everyday & it’s amazing.
The other reason for buying this brand, as their customer service standards seem to be excellent. I haven’t needed them, but from reviews they seem very responsive.
I genuinely didn’t think I would be this impressed, but I have recommended this to several friends & would definitely repurchase in the future.
P.s. I don’t usually leave reviews.
This is my 2nd Robovac as my first had an unfortunate accident involving puppy poo lol I bought exactly the same one again as it is brilliant! It will never replace a normal vacuum as it can’t get everywhere (stairs etc), but it does a brilliant job of keeping the floors in my house neat and tidy. I have 2 cats and a dog and it picks up their hair on tiles and carpet, its great for everyday use to stop floof building up. The dustbin doesn’t look like it holds a lot, but it does, and you just empty the little bale it creates in the bin. The remote works perfectly (line of sight only), so you can use it without the app. It integrates perfectly with Alexa and can be controlled by voice. The battery lasts for a good hour and 40 minutes on standard setting, about 40 minutes to an hour on super-suction mode 🙂 The batteries do degrade over time (1 year – 18 months), but these are easily replaced and can be found on Amazon. It isn’t noisy, so you can let it roam around at night without disturbing anyone. This model seems to have improved since my last one, seems more intelligent when it gets stuck in corners etc. and moves around better 10/10 🙂
Always wanted a robot vac, this one is superb, comes with spare filters and brushes, remote -although I don’t use the remote just set a schedule and leave it to it. With 2 kids and a short haired dog that constantly malts this vac pics up everything and leaves the vinyl flooring shiny. Does brilliant on the carpets too and brings up the pile after it’s hoovered, and will not fall down the stairs. Easy to clean and to remove the hair from the brush. Raved about this vac so much 3 of my neighbours have ordered this model and all throughly happy with it too. Best purchase eve
Had the 6 weeks now. I’ve programmed it via the app to run automatically every morning in my large kitchen. It does a great collecting nearly a container full of dust every day. It works around edges well. Runs for a about an hour and a half before putting itself back to the base for recharging. The base unit doesn’t need a metre either side – see picture for where mine is. About once a week I might get a message saying it’s stuck, so you just free it amd off it goes again. I use it on hardwood floor but did try it once on carpet and it did also seem fine. You’ll need to tidy up any loose cables like for any vac. Recommended.
1st run on auto after having cleaned with a V6 Dyson animal, not sure if it picked up more as went places like under the sofa that I didn’t go or picked up more but either way it got jammed full with half a dog even after I had cleaned. Went home to charge when running low, only shame is doesn’t empty itself. Really surprised how effective it is, thought more a a gimmick until a friend with 2 huskies said it really is effective and it certainly liked to clean up after my cosker spaniel
I have never bought a robovac before because I thought they weren’t worth the money, but I got this one for 170 which is cheaper than a good ‘normal’ vacuum cleaner.
It does make the house look noticeably cleaner, especially the breadcrumbs in the kitchen and when it’s been over the rug in my living room and made it look all fluffy 🙂
It doesn’t have the same amount of suction as my upright hoover, but with this you can just set a schedule and leave it to get on with it – eventually it will get most floors clean. All you need to do is empy the container, which I only need to do once a week now with the vacuum doing 3 scheduled runs a week.
It does sometimes look a bit stupid going around in the same small area over and over, then just as you think it’s going to finally make it out it decides to randomly turn around and go back in there again. It also takes ages to find home sometimes. But if you just ignore it and let it get on with stuff then it gets the job done.
The only problem I have with it is that it doesn’t like the sun. My living room has laminated floor and big patio doors. When the sun is shining in the robovac backs away from the sun on the floor and gets stuck permanently by the wall. So I need to make sure the scheduled cleaning isn’t at the same time as the sun is shining through.
I’m not sure if the boostIQ feature works either, I never hear it increasing the suction unless I manually set it to maximum mode.
My husband was pestering me for one for ages. I thought it would be a waste of money what with us already owning a dyson – I was wrong! It’s great! Just had a baby so this frees up lots of time I have long hair which gets everywhere! And we have a cat – the vac picks it up no problem. Sensors are good- rarely bangs into anything or gets stuck. Suction is good, handy timer setting so we have it on early morning before we wake up. Holds a lot of dirt, it’s easy to clean and control. Great on carpet and kitchen floor. Gets stuck on high pile rugs. Only cons – takes a while to charge. 4/5 hours I think for a full charge.. Recommended and looking at purchasing an additional one for upstairs!
I’ve always been sceptical about buying anything like this, but I’m so glad we did. We have set it up so that it does a clean over night when we sleep every night and using the Alexa combined with my Ring Alarm system I’ve set it so that it starts a clean when the alarm is set in Away mode and returns to charge when the alarm is disarmed.
I left it running the first time whilst I was pottering about during the day and it ran for a long time before returning to its charger on its own when the battery was low. This model does not have the laser mapping feature but I don’t think it does it an injustice. Rather than having a cleaning path it follows it seems to roam aimlessly covering the whole floor randomly. I watched it get into some questionably difficult situations but it always found it’s way free.
I notice the machine also has an “edge of room”, a “spot clean”, and a “quick clean” feature as well that I’ve not used yet. I’ve just run it on automatic.
Whilst I really benefit from the Alexa integration I would like to be able to set a routine that runs the quick clean when I leave the house rather than a full clean.
But highly recommended
This robot is one of the more no frills EUFY models. Good value at 175 with basic WiFi controls through Alexa and a remote control with a few more options that is easy to understand and operate. I bought this to replace my 300 series Roomba which has given me sterling service for a staggering 12 years but has finally packed up, although batteries were replaced a few times and some components were upgraded. It’s a tad thinner than the Roomba which may help getting uner some furniture my Roomba used to get stuck under. . The Roomba has a handle for picking it up, the EUFY does not, you have to use two hands to transport it upstairs. The EUFY is much quieter than the Roomba and less prone to violent bumps against the skirting boards. The IR sensors are calibrated so as not to rely too much on the bumper sensors. Hopefully the EUFY will not leave a dark wear strip on my white shirting boards, which was a problem before. The brush module in the EUFY seems to be narrower than the Roomba although I suspect it may have better suction overall, with three different settings. It will require more passes to cover the entire carpet I suspect and with a much smaller bin, will likely require emptying more often. The EUFY seemed to manage awkward spaces much better and didn’t get stuck as much. Although it did sometimes struggle to mount a low pile carpet from a hard floor, it always managed in the end despite having two corner brushes against the Roomba’s one. The EUFY is far better at seeking out the charging station than the Roomba was slowly advancing as it picks up the IR sensor signal from the docking station. In fact it’s pretty good at docking accurately every time. I’m not sure how the battery will last before needing replacing, but with regular use, I I expect it to last 2-3 years. As for longevity and robustness, time will only tell, however at nearly half the price I paid for my Roomba 12 years ago, it’s pretty amazing value. You could buy a nice used car for the cost of some Roombas, so I’m on the whole quite pleased. Well worth the price. Hopefully it will last a good few years.
I had no issues getting this on WiFi or hooked up to Alexa as some comments suggest. There is no odd contention between the app and Alexa either, which is nice.
It just runs twice a day to keep the fluff and cat hair at bay.
Picks up pretty much everything I’d expect it to, including unwary phone charger cables.
Downsides: the warning about it not working best on dark carpets is true – it doesn’t drive off the step most of the time, but occasionally it happens.
Would be nice if I could stick one of those magnetic strips down, but it doesn’t work with those.
After spending weeks sanding and re-varnishing our wood floors I wanted something to keep them clean regularly, not a job I want to do again in a hurry.
It took a few days to figure out how best to use it and learn where it can and can’t go, and what to keep out of its way etc etc,
using the app on my phone I’ve set it to go for a wander around the house every afternoon, it has kept our hard floors pretty much spotless, and has no trouble rolling on and off our door mats and a fairly deep rug.
It’s very quiet compared to a normal Vac, so our cats didn’t take long to get settled with it rolling around.
Like all things this isn’t perfect, and has a few limitations as you’d expect, it has got stuck a couple of times, got lost on the way back to base once, and we still use our normal Vac to go over our carpets for a more thorough clean once a week, but we haven’t needed to go over any hard flooring since using this, and it’s cleaned under a sofa and a couple of cabinets we would usually struggle getting under.
I had one broken part in the box when it was delivered, nothing major as it was still usable, when I contacted Anker about it they were more than happy to help, I received a replacement part within a couple of days.
I was very sceptical when it came to buying a robot vacuum. However, Robovac is brilliant. We have a large living room fully carpeted together with a carpeted conservatory/dining room, hard floor kitchen/utility/office and hall. The Robovac automatically vacs the downstairs twice a day. Once when we say “Alexa” good night, the house goes into darkness, Robovac kicks in. On a single charge it will hoover the entire downstairs (60 mins). then again around 1pm. The carpet is not short pile and there is even a rug, which I thought it would have issues with, no problem. The amount of dirt/dog hair it captures is amazing, we have a a couple of dyson hoovers, Cordless and corded, yet the Robovac picks up stuff missed by both the Dyson’s. Charging takes around 4 to 5hrs. no issues with moving from one room to another or surface to another, the power changes depending on the surface its cleaning so optimising battery power. no problems with the edges and finds it way home to dock without an issue.
So happy with it I am thinking of buying one for upstairs, I have tried it upstairs worried it would tumble down the stairs, but no. It senses the drop and stops, reverses and moves on without missing the vacuuming of the edge of the landing.
Dog hates it, and leaves the room when Robovac is on the prowl, but apart from that its excellent value for money and i would certainly recommend.
An update to my review.
Had the vac for around 11 months now, the vac had started to run out of battery before making it back to base charger. After dropping an email to the support department we went through some tests with the vac. Turns out the battery needed to be replaced. A new battery was sent to me free of charge, which resolved the problem. Jo, from customer support was excellent and provided me with excellent support regarding the vac and getting it back to normal working. Great product, and great customer support.
It is amazing the amount of dust this bad boy sucks and you dont even realize its there.. I schedule it to run twice a week and it always fills the deposit with stuff that is not seen at our eyes. The suction power is pretty decent, I’ve never seen it leave something behind. It grabs hair very well, just make sure you clean the wheels from time to time, otherwise the hair strings may block it. Very happy with this and definitly recommend.
Because she doesn’t map and randomly bounces around I wasn’t too sure I’d made the right decision at first. Now that I know which few obstacles I need to move and to pull the chairs out from the table to give her access I leave her to do her own thing until she runs out of charge.
The big bonus is that we no longer have dog hairs stuck to the legs of the dining chairs and under radiators etc because she has the power to pull them off.
I haven’t tried Alexa integration yet but the app is great. I was in the garden and it alerted me to the fact that she was stuck trying to get out of the open patio doors.
Used this for 6 months now, kids and cats in the house so we were getting annoyed with manual hoovering tbh. For this price point it seems hard to beat. Good build quality, as expected from Anker. Battery lasts nearly an hour on full suction, android app is polished and nice. Cleaning/suction is great, It is not super smart, if you have lots of rooms on a floor you may need to ‘help’ it find way back home when needed with the remote or app but I really dont mind this. Every time I empty it’s collector I am amazed at what has been picked up. Be prepared to clean the roller sometimes if you have pets. These things really do remove some domestic effort, no brainer, buy one.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I needed to with this robovac. As someone with an indoor cat, and who is unable to hoover due to health issues, this robovac is an absolute game changer for me. I purchased it when it was on sale, as its quite expensive otherwise. However, after using it everyday for the past 10 months I’d say it was worth every penny, even when its not in the sale! I schedule it to vacuum at 4am every morning downstairs, and it is quiet enough to do so without waking anyone up. The robovac even gets into most corners with the front brushes and is able to cope well with hardwood floors as well as carpet. Once fully charged (about 4 hours) I empty the robovac’s dustbin and clean the brushes so it is ready to hoover upstairs for me. You do need to make sure the floors are free of objects and cables, but this helps to keep the house tidier anyway. With regard to spare parts etc, you can buy spare brushes and filters in a pack which is good. I have one ‘in the wash’ and one being used. I had an issue with the front castor wheel recently, while the robovac was still under warranty – the pin snapped, not sure how as its pretty sturdy. I rang the UK support number on the bottom of the robovac and got through to a lovely lady in America called Nichole. She organised for a replacement robovac to be sent to me, as the front castor wheel for this particular model was unavailable in the UK at that time. I cannot praise the customer service or the Eufy Robovac 15c Max highly enough. I have recommended this robovac to friends and family who have purchased one too, and they are as equally impressed with it as I am!
Firstly and most importantly we have named our robovac J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) from Iron Man (he becomes Vision in later Marvel films and we are soon to get a robotic lawn mower which will be called Wanda). Anyway, naming is complete.
I have a 1 year old and as anyone will know that means crumbs. Lots of them. Everywhere. All. The. Time. I was fed up of having to hoover daily, or not hoovering and having a floor that looked filthy. I was waiting for this to come back on offer (it’s reduced to around 189 about half of the year on and off so to buy it full price would be like paying full price for a DFS sofa).
J.A.R.V.I.S. has been amazing. I set him to go off at 2pm on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and come home to a beautiful looking floor. It only lasts 10 minutes before it’s covered in toys, but I like those 10 minutes! We just make sure everything is picked up off the floor the night before and he just gets on with the vacuuming the next day whilst we’re at work.
I did wonder about getting one that maps the room or this one. This is a random wandering robot. I actually like that fact now. My friend has one that maps and if it misses a crumb then that’s it – it leaves it there. This carries on until it needs a recharge so sometimes goes over the same bits again. I have no issue with that as my floor is spotless. I wasn’t sure how much dust it would suck up. Crumbs it does great, and I’m pleased to say it gets a remarkable amount of dust up too. I just have to remember to empty the dust compartment in the evening (I’ve had to set a reminder on my phone for those days).
Once I have robo-proofed the upstairs I am going to take J.A.R.V.I.S. up there one weekend and let him do his thing to see how he gets on. My husband has shoes under the bed and it will just devour his laces and tangle up, so that needs sorting before I can do that.
I did have a total nightmare setting up the app. I tried for 2 days. Then realised what I was convinced was our wifi password actually wasn’t. when I’d put the new one in it connected first time. We’re on virgin and have a dual band router – we didn’t have to change any settings to get it to connect so after I’d finally put in the right password it was fine.
I haven’t tried it with Alexa yet – to be honest I don’t see the need as the app can schedule everything anyway.
If you’re in two minds about getting one (I deliberated for 6 months) then don’t hesitate, just get one. But wait until they’re on offer. At least once a month these things get reduced to 189 or there abouts. Total bargain.
Eufy – please can you do a robot that can load the dishwasher too????
Was ecstatic at first to get a robovacuum. Thought my days slaving behind a broom were over. I was wrong. The item does its job, just not decently well to ever replace manual vacuuming. It gets stuck fairly often (t least once every use), and its little finicky side brushes always get lost somewhere and have you on a hunt looking for them. They also wear down very easy, so will need frequent replacement.
Major issue:
There’s no intelligent route that the vacuum takes, it just sets off and bumps into things, before changing direction until it inevitably bumps into something else. This means it ALWAYS misses areas, and is a nightmare if you have furniture like dining tables with chairs (most people do).
You’re better off spending that 50 or 100 more getting one that maps out your room so it covers every inch.
It’s a decent vacuum otherwise, but these are major, fatal flaws.
I bought my Eufy following recommendation from a friend. I have a large house and never have time to Hoover as well as tidy and clean so it is amazing that I can get on with the tidying/cleaning whilst my rooms are being vacuumed – or can even set it to work when I am not in. The cleaning power for such a small item is amazing. The first time I set it to work on my upstairs carpets I was amazed by the amount of fluff it picked up (having only hoovered the previous week with a new hoover that I had thought was pretty good). My kitchen usually needs sweeping every day (sometimes twice daily) – now I can just turn on my Eufy and leave it to work. I absolutely love it and would recommend 100%.
I havent integrated my eufy with the app or wi-fi but it works absolutely fine with the remote control. I have a chronic respiratory condition and vacuuming was causing me huge problems with breathlessness. So pleased to have found Eufy, cant understand why I didn’t think of it before but it’s a blessing. There are a couple of places it can’t reach but my house is very uncluttered with no stray cables so it manages very well. The suction is very good and I could hardly believe the amount of hair on the roller. (Sorry a bit gross) . I would def recommend it to anyone
As with everyone looking for a new automated hoover, I wanted to put an end of my hard labour and back pains and waste of time from hoovering up the place. I don’t know why I took so long to get it! Some inventions are expensive novelties that one with a simple life doesn’t really need – but this is an absolute essential that will change your life for the better and realize that maybe humanity isn’t completely hopeless in the pursuit of future technology!
I am a busy young woman who lives alone with no pets, in a simple accomodation with dark carpets. I am clean with very little dirty habits, but I do have very long hair that gets all over the place. The dark carpet makes it not that obvious but I know that it’s not a reason to ignore cleaning. The problem is that my manual hoover doesn’t do a very good job, requires a lot of hours to do a decent clean, and always gives me massive shoulder and back pain by the end of it.
I knew I needed a new hoover – but then I thought, why not just get these automated hoovers that everyone’s talking about? Not only would it use up less space in storage, but it would also do all the cleaning for me! There were many models to choose from, but I went with this one in the end. It definitely was the right choice for the following reasons below:
– My budget was 100-200 and this was comfortably within that during the sale.
– The method of navigation is “intelligent random” – although some people recommended LIDAR, my place isn’t that large and to be frank I am not that keen on these super advanced sensors such as camera and mapping due to the privacy concerns. This bot will go around randomly in the automatic mode, but it does have a certain pattern that it tries to use and it does eventually get around the whole room. You can switch between different modes and also control it with a remote if you want to override its path.
– I have a sort of dark carpet (not of my choice, don’t judge!) so I know some automated hoovers have issue with that due to the way their sensors work. This one works absolutely fine and transitions to bright hardwood without issue.
– It also lets you connect it with your phone if you download the eufy app to let you know how much battery it has and lets you customize it a little more. It also alerts you if something’s wrong, like something has made its wheels get stuck.
The question is, does it completely replace manual hoovering? Well, my previous one wasn’t that great to begin with. When I let the robot run free for just 30 minutes for an initial test drive on the minimal setting, the hoover bin was already filled to the brim with so much dust and crap that I had no idea was on the floor. My manual hoover never did that! There may still be small corners it doesn’t quite reach unless you manually control the robot. Still, this beats my manual hoovering by a mile.
The only caveat is that if you have been suffering with hoover procrastination (which is probably why you’re interested in this product!) then keep in mind it is so good at picking up crap that your bot will probably get stuck a few times and need you to rescue it a few times. It picked up SO much hair that it got jammed in the wheels and every other part – I mean that’s my fault for having so much hair but also goes to show how much more efficient this is compared to how I previously lived. Cleaning the parts is easy enough but be prepared to grab yourself some really small scissors and cut through the hairs and fur that it picks up, and rescue the bot a few times during its first cleaning cycles. You will also need to empty the drum very frequently at least during the beginning because it WILL fill up quickly, no matter how clean you thought you were living!
Best investment I’ve made so far and really recommend it everyone – put it in your birthday wishlist or something! You will never look back.
I got this product after seeing it recommended by a few people online. I have animals and several children, so our floors are crumby and hairy constantly. I am always keen to have the floors as clean as possible, but struggle to find the time to hoover more than once a day with a young family. This product has been amazing. I run it twice a day, and it does an excellent job at picking everything up which it encounters. The edge mode is excellent at getting in to the nooks and crannies. We have hard floors & tiles throughout downstairs and it works very well on them, not so well on the landing carpet upstairs. It means I no longer have to get the “big hoover” out every day, and so definitely saves me time, and has made my life that little bit easier. I would very much recommend to anyone with young kids who is sick of feeling that the hoover is attached to their hand! The only downside is that it often gets stuck on the lip between our kitchen and hall, despite it being smaller than the indicated height the hoover can handle.
This is a great addition to the house and has saved so much time, yes you will probably still need a hoover for the stairs but this is great.
We have had the vacuum on pretty much every day and he picks up so much dust and dog hair, its surprising how much. we lift him up and set him off come back when he is done and the carpets are clean.
He works better in smaller areas we have a large open plan downstairs and he tries to clean too much, but is ok, In normally size rooms with carpets they are cleaned really well.
No issues with dog hair or dust
Remote is line of sight which isnt a massive problem, its really handy when you want him to get a specific area.
We very rarely use the old hoover now
Easy to set up and schedule.
I wasn’t sure about owning a robo-vac, seemed like it was a bit of a fad and most people say it won’t replace your hover so I was really on the fence. I bought this for my brother and his family for Christmas and they love it so much I ended up getting one for myself.
It really does make regular cleaning so much easier, yes you will still need to get the hoover out once in a while but my apartment is spotless as I have Lucas (yes I named him!) go over the main parts of the flat every other day.
Absolute game changer. Now I use hoover maybe once per months.
The good:
* it runs automatically, you put a schedule in the app and it will start, finish and charge itself automatically.
* reaches places I would probably left on most days, like under the bed. And it does it daily if you wish.
* I tested that it does not fall from the stairs.
* It can move through small elevations, like from the floor to the carpet. Bathroom scale is too much for it.
* it is not as loud as regular hoover.
* You get informed on phone when it is stuck and need your help. Usually it happens when it chews on shoestrings or cables.
* Best on carpets described as short and floors.
The bad:
* It does not say when it is full. That would be very helpful.
* In my previous flat I had a carpet which I would described as medium or long and the robot did not work very well there. It was filling up in like 30 minutes on the elements of the carpet itself which was not enough to finish the job.
* docking station is small but requires some manoeuvring space around it. Not necessary as big as it is stated in the instruction.
I have no animals or small children. That would probably change the usefulness of the robot.
I brought this little robot as I was finally moving into a place of my own. I had some spare money and had my heart set on a smart home, and that included this hoover.
Firstly my house is 75% hardwood and 25% carpet and Oh’ boy have myself and my wife got into some bad habits! This robot, which is now more of a pet is AMAZING! We’ve set up a schedule to hoover once per day (Sadly can’t automate more than 1 clear per day) and off he goes.
Now, you’ll have to get into the habit of not leaving all your rubbish on the floor (A lesson my wife is still learning). If you can keep your floor clear of cables and cloths, you will never hoover again!
I’ve got him, yes, “Him”, aka “Eufy” set on BoostIQ and he smartly turns the suction power up and down depending what type of flooring he is on. His little bushes do an amazing job of getting under objects and into corners. Both myself and my wife spend most days working from home and still I only empty him maybe once every 1 or 2 days.
Pros:
1. You will never hoover again.
2. He does a really good job at cleaning corners.
3. You can leave the house and come back and it’s clean.
4. He’s low profile so can fit anywhere. I store him and his home under a bookshelf.
5. You can brush all the rubbish onto the floor and set him off.
6. You can manually set him off.
Cons:
1. You’ll have to teach your wife and family to keep the floor clear.
2. You’ll get into a really bad habit of brushing dust and crumbs onto the floor. And I mean, a really bad habit…
Dusting? On the floor… Bread crumbs? On the floor… Hamster bedding? On the floor… The list is endless!
3. He becomes a pet. When he gets tangled in your wife’s earphones, you will tell him off like a dog. When he
annoys your wife, he’s your problem!
4. You will sit there sifting through what he’s picked up. Not because you have to, but because it’s actually quite
fun. Quotes: “Babe, have you seen this? Where the hell did he get that from?!?” and “Oh look babe, he found your lost earring”.
5. Unless you have another portable hoover, you will have to visit the hand car wash to have your car hoovered!
6. He has a remote. While you’ll love it at the start, it turns this bad boy into an RC Car… That every Toodler, Child, Teenager and Adult will want to play with when they first visit, and pretty much every visit from that day forward.
7. Lastly, for all you tech people. Yes, he will eat all the cables on the floor. Yes, he returns to base, but sometimes he will die in the middle of the floor because he got lost. Yes, you will have to pull hair out of the roller every now and again. And yes, there will be that one rug, for some unknown reason, defeats Eufy every day and you have to clean it yourself. Also, he works really well with all smart hubs.
8. You’ll become better friends with Eufy, than your wife…
Works really well with Google assistant its amazing what this little guy can pick up and how it gets around, because my house is on two levels I’m going to get another one.
Revised 18/04/21
I bought the lower-powered 15c max eufy (224.83) first and was so impressed with it I decided to buy another so I got the 30c (247.31) three months later and to be honest I find the 15c better, I send them both out at the same time but the 30c won’t last as long as the 15C max and heads on home for a recharge long before his buddy, now it may have something to do with his larger motor using more energy as I think they have the same battery (not sure) and as I have mostly hard surface flooring apart from a few rugs I don’t really notice any difference on their cleaning capabilities as I’m happy with both. The 30c comes with magnetic strips to stop it going where you don’t want it to go where the 15c doesn’t, but I don’t use the stripes as they both have a drop sensor so they won’t try to go down the stairs. My advice would be if you have a lot of carpets the 30c is probably best, but if you have mostly hard floors the 15c does the job just as good with more running power at a lower cost. I can’t fault either and I am very happy with them both. They work really well with Google assistant.
I looked at quite a lot of different smart hoovers at an affordable budget , To say I wasn’t expecting too much for the money and thought that I would have to go over the floor again with my main hoover, BuT I did not have to as this Eufy 15c max does an exceptional job of cleaning the floor removing dog and cat hair with ease .I had to convince my wife this was an essential purchase for our busy home and because of the schedule times and days that can be set via the app we can set and forget via the app .Also its as easy as asking our Alexa to send “Turbo ” we renamed it : to hoover or to return home when you feel the floor needs an extra clean when the house has had a bit of traffic .
We love this new addition to our smart home , Fantastic hoover with quite a few cleaning options via the app for what type of floor or what type of clean (mode) you want it to do.
The auto return to charging base is a great feature , it has always returned with no technical problems .Just to be aware when the unit is returning to its charging base it reduces its speed and vacuum.
Also to add this model in particular has a lot of after market spare parts and so so easy to empty the collection bin , maintain the rolling brush , clean the filter ,etc .
I’ve had this 2 days and already love her more than my husband. She’s like a new family pet. The kids love her too and laugh at her when she bumps into chair legs. Was worried it would struggle between levels (at our door thresholds and between floor and rugs) but it manages this with ease. Suction power seems sufficient for the task in hand. It won’t suck up big pieces of debris – which isn’t a bad thing with toys lying around – it just swipes them away. It has picked up a few very small toy pieces (playmobil accessories etc) – which are easy to spot in the collection bin when you empty it. It’s a bit frustrating watching it aimlessly wander around, driving past mess, but if you leave her to it, she does manage to cover the whole area in her own time and then ride back to her dock (we have it under the sofa out of the way) to charge when she’s done. It works very well with Alexa integration too. No issues there at all. With three kids and endless crumbs and mess around, we’ll still need to do a “big vacuum” now and again, but certainly not every day anymore. I can see this being something we’ll never want to be without!
This robot vacuum really surpassed my expectations! I’ve done way too much research on robo vacuums and this is my second one after i returned a previous one.
From what I’ve learned… all this type of robo vac is the same design, it must be licensed by the inventor to various manufacturers who tweak such things such as brushes, design features, perhaps battery and have different apps which control them. The wheels, bumper, waste bin are all identical. The programming which guides how the robo vacs move around the room is also the same- on this I was really impressed, it guides its way around chairs into corners, around circular bins etc etc. I thought I needed one with mapping, but this does a great job without.
I returned the other one I bought because the app was really bad. This one has a great app where you can schedule cleaning and it gives you messages when a brush falls off or it gets stuck. They even provided cable ties in the box to help reduce this problem when it’s going under your sofas etc! The only negative this one has over my previous one is that the brushes fall off when going over carpets, compared to the brushes of the other robo vac I tried, so I would recommend getting other ones which are available – and it’s the same fitting for all models of this type of vacuum. If you’ve got wooden floors this is great. We have two toddlers who make so many crumbs, this robo vac has really helped out loads!
We have a shiny tiled floor to most of the lower floor and reviews suggested this is the best surface for the machine – they were right. We have carpet in the lounge and it copes reasonably well with that although we also have a large rug and it doesn’t like changing surfaces and the brushes easily pop off.
It’s great to just switch RoboVac on and leave him to it! No more having to get the vacuum cleaner out every other day! I wanted to stick to budget and was a bit concerned about not having a type that mapped out the room – but it’s not a problem, it systematically works round everything. Good option is ‘edge cleaner’ which means it just runs around the edges, I can also control it directly from the remote so if someone has just made a sandwich and dropped crumbs on a particular area I can quickly hoover it up! and the ‘go home’ to the charging dock is a good too. All in all – fantastic value as I bought on Black Friday!
All in all – well pleased! 😀
I’m very pleased with the RoboVac. Initially I had a problem with it being a bit noisy on hard floors, but I contacted Eufy support and they sorted it out straight away by sending a replacement part.
I use it practically every day, and even though the house looks clean it always comes back with some dust in the collector. I tend to clean the brush every day too (rather than once a week as suggested) as we have long-haired pets and the hair tends to wrap around the ends of the brush a bit (but no more than it does on a normal vacuum cleaner). A tool is provided with an integrated blade to make cleaning the brush easy.
We have both hard floors and short-pile carpet, and it works fine on both. The only thing it doesn’t pick up well are fibres from the carpet (such as sock fluff or threads from a cotton dressing gown). My ordinary vacuum cleaner struggles with those too, so I’m not surprised. One thing I like about this cleaner compared to some other makes is that it has two sweeper brushes at the front rather than just one. The brushes can knock small pieces of debris out of the path of the vacuum on a hard floor – having a pair of brushes reduces the chance of this happening.
It’s not one of the super-expensive cleaners with room mapping, so it does tend to wander around a bit randomly. I sometimes find myself shouting at it that “you’ve done that bit!” – but that’s probably more a reflection upon my problems… It always seems to clean most areas during the run. It runs for well over an hour on a single charge, which is more than adequate for our two bedroom flat.
I’d definitely recommend this cleaner – a great way to keep your home clean without wasting your own time doing it (unless you find yourself mesmerised by it as I sometimes do). All I need now is a robot ironing machine…
When I bought this I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I wanted a RoboVac to automatically clean when the house was empty, so that we could return to nice clean floors.
Well, that’s definitely what I got, but it’s actually even better than I thought it would be. Suction is great, easily distinguishes between hard floor and carpet. Automatically returns to it’s charging base when it’s finished, and does a pretty good job of compacting the dust to cover a lot of floors.
This model (15C Max) doesn’t have boundary detection, or the ability to map your rooms, but that hasn’t been an issue for me. You need to be sure that you’ve not left things lying around, but if you ignore the very random patterns it takes across the floors it’ll cover everything! It does have drop detection though so no fear of it falling down the stairs!
The app, Alexa integration and remote control make things even easier to use. I bought an additional charging base so that I can easily switch between floors (it would be OK to move the base each time so that RoboVac could find it’s way home but I guess I’m lazy!
Definitely recommend this RoboVac. It won’t stop you from ever having to hoover again but it significantly reduces the number of times you do, and who’d complain about that?!!
Purchased as a Christmas present, I went for this model as its made by Anker who are one of the brands we like for cables and speakers and other phone accessories. The vac has worked better than we expected. We have a mixture of carpets and hard floors with a few rugs and thin dirt traper door mats. It handled moving form surfaces easily and didn’t catch the edge of the mats. As others have said its great daily clean but you will still want to do big vacum weekly.
Only issue we had was the setup program wouldn’t work on an iphone 11 and we had to run setup from an older iphone 8. I am sure it will be fixed soon. The only thing you really need from the mobile phone app is to setup the automatic schedule.
I’m so impressed with this Robot Vacuum (we named ours Guybrush Sweepwood). The suction is really good and I’m most impressed that it picks up all those crumbs that my kids are intent on spreading anywhere. After Guybrush has spent an hour going round in circles and bumping on our ankles, I am always impressed with how much cleaner the floor looks and he really does seem to cover every inch.
I have to spend 15 minutes tidying all my little terror’s stuff off the floor (usually just launched into another room), otherwise Guybrush starts choking on tiny dinosaurs or lost socks, but he always tells you when he has got stuck and at least it’s an excuse to tidy.
Because of the need to have it tidy we haven’t tried the timed function, but the app works really well and it’s so easy to get him going.
Overall, it won’t replace your normal hoover, but it’s a superb addition to the house and I’d really recommend it to anyone.
P.S. my brother suggested C-Sweepio would be another good name for a robot vacuum. I kind of like his name better, but ours has already stuck.
The device is very easy to set up. Physically it’s a matter of plugging in the base station, charging the device up (takes a while for the initial charge) and clipping on the two brush heads. It can be operated with a remote control (included), by phone via a downloaded app, or by voice command on a smart speaker. It was easy to link to Google Nest (sorry Amazon!) and I guess that would be the same for Alexa.
The cleaner does a good job, on both hard and carpeted floors. When using it for the first time, it’s advisable to watch it in action in different rooms in order to ascertain where it might get stuck. It has an uncanny knack of finding cables, so make sure that they are out of the way, and, as the instructions state, rugs with tasselled edges pose problems. I find using physical barriers helpful to avoid potential traps such as fireplaces and going behind TV stands and computer desks, where I do not particularly want to unplug and move cables. It does actually recognise and avoid the top of staircases, though I do use a barrier there as well. Being a compact device, the dust collection compartment obviously has limited capacity and needs to be emptied after each cleaning cycle. This is very simple to do.
The Robo Vac does not replace a standard vacuum cleaner but it is a very useful adjunct. It gets into places where using a standard cleaner can be difficult, such as under beds. Once you are comfortable that the rooms to be cleaned are free of potential obstacles, you can leave it to do its thing whilst you get on with something else in another room.
I am entirely satisfied with this product.
I had wanted a robovac for a while and wasn’t disappointed with the 15c Max. The suction was ample and you can turn it up for deeper pile carpets. I had a problem with one of the buttons on the remote not working so Eufy sent me a replacement, but unfortunately after only owning the vacuum for a few weeks it kept showing an error and not working. Once again Eufy’s customer service was excellent, especially Lynn – other companies could learn a lot from them. They covered the postage cost for me to return it, sent me a replacement immediately and the communication was great. My new vacuum is working like a dream and I would really recommend it. I love being able to set the little thing going whilst I’m working or cooking dinner and coming back to a beautifully clean floor! The edge cleaning function is especially useful in the kitchen where invariably there is a collection of crumbs next to the kickboards, which the Eufy merrily sucks up. Love it!
I have had several of these robot vacuums now, unfortunately the ones i have bought have failed within warranty. The first one was an expensive Xiaomi one but this went faulty just out of the first year warranty, lucky Amazon were great and refunded me. As that had cost almost 400 and not lasted that long I then went for 2 Deebot ones as they had a longer warranty, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Unfortunately they also went faulty so I replaced one with another deebot and the other with this one. This was bought on a special offer but was more expensive than the deebot one. So far I am pleased with this one, it has a larger dust bin than the deebot one, I like to empty mine after each vac as its great seeing how much they pick up. The first robot vacuum I had was bought as a gift and I didnt really want it, however I would really miss having them now and I know my carpets would be a lot dirtier as I tend to vac every day with these and I wouldn’t if I were doing it manually
Update 13/12/20
The Eufy has been cleaning for a couple of weeks now. I can honestly say I dont know what I’d do without it. Ive set a time to clean daily. Its helping me stay on top of the cat litter and fur. Its become an essential part of my household cleaning. Ive set it up under the chaise…it lives there quite happily I empty it every other day and de fur the rollers (if you dont have pets you probably wont need to do this as often). The only thing i have do do is a quick check in the morning before it starts to make sure the cat toys are away and that my little darlings havent vomited anywhere (dont want Eufy dealing with that ). Brilliant invention! Would definitely recommend
Older review
Ive been mulling over buying a Eufy for about a year. With 16 cats in the house, i fight a daily battle with fur and litter.
First clean and I am impressed with it. Its very quiet and cleans my floor better than my dyson does and I didnt have to lift a finger!
The cats are not as impressed however some try and smack it and others think the brushes are there to play with. They do love the box though!
I was also impressed that the box has a separate set of brushes and an extra filter In addition to the the docking station and an electric cord.
Initial review…money worth spending
The cleaning power of this little vacuum is amazing. I’ve scheduled it to clean almost daily, and it always has a full box each time. This is even after going round the room with a full size vac.
The remote is ok, but really fairly redundant, as the Eufy app can do everything the remote does. And you can tell Alexa to tell Robovac to clean, or to return home. I don’t think you can change the cleaning mode with Alexa.
The Eufy has four modes, Auto, edge, 30 minute clean, and spot.
It has a bumper, so it will bounce off obstructions, but also has sensors. The sensors can ‘see’ large objects, and the vac turns away, but for smaller objects, the bumper works.
Occasionally it gets stuck, if I haven’t moved any wires, or it get under the telly. It sends a message to the app telling you what hte problem is, and the unit beeps, different numbers of beeps indicate the problem, unlike my previous robovac that told you , e.g., ‘Please charge’. You can also use the app to find the vac (it beeps so you can locate it) if it hasn’t been able to return to the dock.
Overall, very pleased. Seems less sophisticated than other similar vacs, but is better at cleaning, in my opinion.
It comes complete with a few spares
had the vileda version before which was too tall and kept getting trapped under a cart in the kitchen and the downstairs loo – size is important – this one is small enough to nip under and around stuff but big enough to do the job. I love it. Haven’t bothered with app/ alexa of scheduling cleaning; just switch on when I want. It’s a game changer for me – works when I’m working. Only gripe I have is that it doesn’t quite get everything at the edges. Also you may need quite a big floor area for it to be worth your while to invest. But nothing like switching it on and leaving the house and coming back and the floor is immaculate.
This is great. Simple installation and operation but a number of auto modes + manual mode that takes the pain out of hoovering. I live in an apartment with wooden floors throughout apart from stone tiles in the kitchen and this RoboVac has been doing a great job. The app has been invaluable in terms of control and status check.
The only thing to be mindful of is to life anything loose hanging e.g. seat throws, tidy cables (to a point) and look out for low radiators, in which your vac might get stuck. It does a good job of avoiding furniture and the above but sometimes looks a little ‘dust-drunk’! Apparently, it senses brighter objects better than darker obstacles. To be honest, the same amount of prep is required as with a traditional hand-held vacuum. Any problems and it beeps and you get a message to your phone’s Eufy application.
I’ve said ‘it’ but mine’s a ‘he’, now christened on the app, with Alexa integration and he’s like a little pet with a practical function. Amazing the joys we get during Covid-19 restrictions!
A great product and we’re really happy with it. *Ahem. ‘Him’! 😉
Navigation:
Despite not having the room mapping features of more expensive robot vacuum cleaners, this one is still effective. It uses infrared sensors on the front (see attached image) to find and avoid walls. It also uses a “bumper” at the front to detect unexpected obstacles and gently rotate and “bump” its way around them.
It doesn’t seem to have a particular logical route plan and seems to rely on random direction changes, however, I have found that in less than an hour it manages to cover every part of my living room (which is medium sized).
I have a rug in my room that is about 10-15mm in height and has a relatively flat pile, the Robovac occasionally struggles at the corners, however, 9 times out of 10 it powers over them (causing them to briefly fold back on themselves). The 1 time out of 10 it doesn’t make it over, it simply backs off and goes around. I have had 0 issues when the Robovac has hit the rug on a flat egde.
Battery Life:
I always set my Robovac to BoostIQ and have found that it will vacuum for around 1hr 10mins before returning to its charging bay. I haven’t tried any of the other settings (Normal + Max) so I can’t comment on the battery life for them.
Charging depends on use. I have found that if you use the Robovac until it automatically returns to the charging base, it will tak about 3-3.5hrs to reach full charge.
Alexa Integration:
Robovac is linked to Alexa via the Eufyhome Skill. It works fine but you have to use the preset phrases they have programmed in to start and stop it and get it to return to its charger. It works but I would have liked to have had the option to programme my own commands via Alexa Routines.
Cleaning/Suction:
I don’t have pets so pet hair is not something I can comment on. The cleaning in general has been good and it does a decent job. As the box fills up, it struggles to pic up larger particles (I tested it with peanuts), but if it’s empty it sucks them up without issue. Overall it does a good job.
Top Tip:
Make sure there are no loose wires on the floor as they will get caught on the sweepers/wheels. When this happens, you’ll get a notification in the Eufy app telling you that the Robovac is stuck and needs rescuing, which is a nice feature.
Conclusion:
I initially bought this as it was on sale and because I hated doing my housework, but since owning it I have found that I (Robovac) am vacuuming more often, which I did not anticipate.
I’m very happy with my purchase, it’s a really good piece of equipment but I would suggest anyone thinking of buying it waits until it goes on sale as I feel it is a little overpriced.
We have been using this hoover for almost a year now on a mix of carpet and wooden flooring. It has made such a difference to the cleanliness of our floor and taken a burden off our shoulders. On carpet it can’t do a deep clean but gets rid of the daily crumbs and hair. Initially you might need to adjust the furniture or to better help it get around but once done, you won’t look back. It’s even stopped my partner leaving her dirty laundry on the floor! We’ve had a little trouble with our router resetting itself to 5G which then causes the vac to lose any preset times but this is an issue with the router rather than the vac. Still, one that is compatible with 5G in the future would be handy to avoid the occasional hiccup. Overall, if you want a cleaner home but don’t have the time (especially if you have children) I highly recommend this product!
Not a bad hoover, this is our first robotic one so hard to compare properly.
I’d say the overall suction isn’t as good as in a normal plug in hoover, it’s great for wood floor but doesn’t pick everything up from our carpets upstairs.
This model isn’t very smart, so it just randomly bounces around the house for an hour or two rather than having any mapping etc. I think that would be helpful as you could add every functionality (for example… set it to just clean certain rooms for longer rather than random across whole house.)
It does have an edge mode which is pretty good, great for going round the edge of the kitchen counters etc.
Overall a good purchase so far, hopefully it lasts well.
I saw that this “robovac” was being promoted on Amazon with a discount along with other discounted brands. Following some Google research into “robovacs” I decided that this was the one for me.
When it arrived I gingerly unpacked it and set it up to charge. When charged I set it to work.
I was a little bit nervous as it began its meanderings as I live in a first floor flat and I feared that it might try to commit suicide by falling from the landing to the foot of the stairs. My fears were unfounded. On detecting the drop it simply reversed a little then changed direction.
Meanderings is the correct word as it navigates using ‘bump’ technology rather than room mapping. So it probably takes two or three or so ‘hooverings’ to completely cover the flat.
Now I know that my flat is not unduly dirty – just normal living debris. But it seems that this little hoover (I call it Jeeves!) creates dust. During the first couple of uses it easily filled the dust collector but as cleaning cycles progressed then less and less dust was collected. I know that my flat was never THAT dirty but it still amazes me how much it picks up on each clean. Is it creating dust as it goes?
I was sceptical about these devices. If you haven’t bought one yet do so. You will be amazed and it will save you a lot of work.
UPDATE 15th September 2020
I was so impressed with the Eufy 15C MAX that I took advantage of an offer from Anker to upgrade to a Eufy G30. It is quieter and uses a more conventional ‘zig-zag’ cleaning strategy rather than a ‘bump/random meandering’ strategy. It may be just me but I think that the G30 cleans marginally better. The C15 MAX is located upstairs whilst the G30 cleans the downstairs.
In any event, both models highy recommended.
A lot of years ago I paid 450 for an iRobot 700 series. It has needed several new parts recently and it was still behaving oddly, so when my guinea pig chewed through the dock cable I decided to retire it! As it only hoovers on schedule the kitchen (tiles) and lounge (carpet) every night, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on another iRobot, so after reading all the reviews plumped for this. The suction is far superior to my iRobot, I have even had to change my doormat for a heavier one as it hoovered a hole in it! I love the Alexa integration as when you accidentally kick it off its base, you don’t have to chase it round the room, just tell Alexa to send it home. However, All in all I prefer the iRobot. There are 2 side brushes in this, but I don’t think it does a better job than the iRobot with 1, they don’t seem the same quality and have bent so they aren’t as effective. I was thrilled to see the bin on this is bigger, yet when it is 2/3 full it spits carpet fluff back out in clumps, even when the iRobot bin was crammed solid it never did that. You definitely need to empty this daily. I was surprised to see that The brush bar is also much smaller than iRobot’s, but I don’t know if this makes a difference. This doesn’t have the floor mapping that the iRobot has, and although I didn’t think it did much (my iRobot always looked like it was moving really randomly) I do now think it was better than I originally thought, some mornings I come down and I am not sure the Eufy has even made it through to the lounge at all! I do feel a bit unfair comparing machines at different price points, and although this is a perfectly good vacuum, that does the job I need it to do, next time I will pay a bit extra and go back to iRobot.
I had a Roomba for many years that finally went to the great dustbin in the sky, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money replacing it so I opted for the Eufy 15C MAX.
On it’s first day, it picked up a surprising amount of dust, given the day before I’d vacuumed the floors. it also took me aback by how quiet it was compared to the Roomba – I had to check it was still running when it went across the hallway and into another room as I couldn’t hear it at all.
It’s easy to set up, easy to empty and clean and with a set schedule to set off and vacuum by itself, it’s a “set it and forget it” device (aside from emptying the bin and cleaning the brushes).
Battery life could be better and the LED lights are really bright (especially at night), but those are my only gripes about it.
I had very limited expectations for the Eufy RoboVac, it was bought for me as a present and I thought it was going to be a bit of gimmick. But no, it’s actually amazingly good at doing its job.
Setup is very straightforward and connection to my WiFi network was hassle free. The smartphone app is also very intuitive and easy to use.
After giving it a full charge, I let it lose and all I can say is that I’m absolutely gobsmacked. It whizzed around my living room and kitchen going from wooden flooring to rugs to vinyl without any issues at all and once it had finished its duties, it cleverly returned to its base to recharge.
I had only hoovered a couple of hours before using the Eufy so I was shocked to see how much dust and dirt had been collected, it’s actually quite embarrassing as I thought the floors were clean lol
I received my Eufy 3 days ago and have used it twice a day since, it’s absolutely brilliant and it really does do what its designed to do and takes the hassle out of cleaning … Thank you Anker for producing yet another outstanding product, could you make one that does auto dusting next please 🙂
Very Pleased with this purchase, and very pleased with the Customer Service. I was quite upset when after six months of use (every couple of days) it became very noisy. (Bearing grinding?). So I send a video to EufyHome who responded very quickly with a replacement cleaner. Can’t ask for better than that, well except for it not being needed of course, but you know what I mean!!!
I think the secret is to use the machine regularly, daily? I wouldn’t dream of using the Dyson everyday, but then there is no need. With the robovac it needs to be used more often as it doesn’t suck as hard as the Dyson, so don’t let the dirt become embedded in the carpet then you don’t need the higher suction to get it out.
It is really good on hard floors and long stretches of carpet.
It can take quite a long time to get the roller free of pet fur and like all vacuum cleaners is doesn’t cope with long hair very well.
Going to keep an eye on future versions of this cleaner, there are loads of things that need developement and I’m sure will be. (The traditional cleaner has had 50 years of developement, it would be good if robovacs didn’t need as long.). The first thing that needs to be tackled is getting rid of all the inaccessible nooks and crannies where dirt can gather on the machine. This is probably more important in a robovac than a traditional cleaner, as It works away the in background with nobody paying it any attention. Most traditional cleaners come apart very easily for cleaning and finding hair grips and all the other things that get hovered up, not these robots.
On the whole pleased with this cleaner and in three or four years will hopefully replace it with an even better version.
I have always been sceptical about these things and thought i will never buy one – thank god i bought one. I thought since we got a kitten we would be doing quite a bit more vacuming, so to make it easier and less time consuming – will purchase one of these robo vacums. Did my research and this seemed like a good product for value. Got to admit – it is quite powerfull. Suction power for a wireless vacum is impressive. It gets in quite a tight spots as well where i would not think it could get under, which is another bonuss. Battery lasts as advertised which is plenty to clean kitchen and guest room in one go. Love the app, which lets me set up schedules and works as remote controll, but i had issues with setting it up as by default i have 5g internet and this does not support 5g. It does allert you via beeping and app when it gets stuck which is great. Cost wise it is not particularly expensive, but i would have loved this robot to have house mapping as otherwise it feels like it cleans some areas more then the rest, but i guess for this kind of price mapping is wishfull thinking.
We wanted a robot vacuum for ages, but were apprehensive of the quality – you either pay extortionately high prices, or just a couple hundred. I wasn’t planning on paying high so had to do a lot of research to figure out the best option.
This won hands down.
Eufy is a brand name in the same company as Anker, who I’d heard of, and have used their products many times before. So we’re in a good starting place.
Alexa integration is as expected; you give your vacuum a name (ours is now called Barbra) and give Alexa commands to start her up, send her home etc. This can prove annoying, as you need to get the wording right. Say for example “Alexa, tell Barbra to go home” and Alexa will just repeat “Barbra go home”. Great if you’re trying to get rid of houseguests that have overstayed their welcome, but not so much in this case. Say “Alexa, ask Barbra to go home” and you’re in – Alexa then spouts off the complete technical name given to the vacuum when repeating what you’ve asked. Takes a few minutes just to send the thing back to the base to charge.
Back to the vac though, and she does seem to do a good job. If she gets stuck an alarm sounds and you get a notification as to why through the app on your phone.
Going back to the base to charge can take far too long due to the randomness of her path. A signal to follow to return to base when required could have cut down on this time, but it’s a small complaint.
Although not annoyingly loud, this vacuum is louder than I would have liked – so if you’re watching telly you may want to consider setting her off in other rooms to start.
Overall a good vacuum and well worth the money.
Spending hours on vacuuming and wondering why I was wasting my time doing it, I picked up this on sale. I wasn’t that confident that these things worked especially at this price range. I went in having read a few positive reviews with high hopes.
The unit is quite compact and because it’s battery powered I didn’t think it would run for very long (like my Dyson) or be very powerful. I was very surprised in both counts.
The robot side of things isn’t that intelligent, in that it randomly pings around the house however it works exceedingly well on the whole. The results speak for themselves it runs for ages and you see it picks up loads of dust (I’ve thought my house was quite clean)
I did unfortunately have a problem six months into our life together in that one of the brushes in the front developed a weakness. I contacted support, during the height of the COVID outbreak, and they got straight back to me. I sent them a video of the issue and the next day I had a brand new unit.
All in all, the robot hoover exceeded all my expectations – especially when you consider the price range it is operating in. Secondly, the support team are fantastic.
Got this on sale for a third off, and definitely worth it at that price. Haven’t tried the Alexa/voice features, but easy to use with the provided remote, and very simple and easy to setup with the app on a smartphone as well. The smartphone controls are a little laggier than the remote when moving the robo around, but on the fliphand you can do it from anywhere using the app. If you’re not home and you get a notification that the robo is stuck, usually just back it up for a second or two and it will figure its way out of whatever jam it was in. You can use the app to set a schedule for the auto cleaning, so you can just leave it and it’ll never need bothering.
Cleaning it out is very easy, the dust compartment clips out effortlessly and is easy to dump in the bin. It holds a surprisingly decent amount too. The dust filter can be cleaned by holding it under a tap then air-drying. You get a replacement included as well. If you have any long-haired pets/people at home this thing is a godsend. Most of it ends up tangled around the brushes rather than being sucked up, but it’s easy to clear. You get a handy cutting tool in the box, and all the brushes/wheels clip off which lets you just pull any tangled hair clear in seconds. Any stubborn hair properly wrapped around can be snipped with the cutter and it’s good to go again.
Easy to clean and you can totally just leave it alone to do its thing. Also amusing to use the remote to just drive it around/chase people with. It’s always found its way back to the charging dock no problem, and has a series of beeps to communicate issues it does has – but it will also send you a notification on the app with any exact problem which works better. It smartly avoids walls and solid objects alright, and amusingly just bounces of anything smaller like chairs, using the bumper on the front to good effect.
Overall a very solid and well built piece of kit, which was clearly designed with ease of use and simple cleaning in mind. Does exactly what it says on the box, and does it well. My first ever robo vacuum and very impressed with it.
I bought this on a bit of a whim after a friend recommend a much more expensive brand / model. I have to say I’ve been a little surprised by how good it is!
It’s done two cleans now – the first time it got stuck in a couple of places but I fixed the loose cords and moved a bit of furniture. Then this morning it did a clean by itself at 4:00 and bosh! – completed nicely and a full tray of dust to empty.
Integration with Alexa is simple but I’m not looking for it to do anything crazy. Easy to schedule – not overly complicated and I quite like that. Very easy to empty – the dust tray is easy to access without having to move the robot and you simply empty, rinse the filter and then put it back in (1 minute max).
I have to also say that I’m surprised by where this can get to. It gets very close to the walls and it’s done a great job on the carpet. I normally vacuum with a Miele (pre-EU power reduction model) and it’s great, but this wasn’t too much worse. I think with the benefit of running it 3 times a week the carpet is going to look fantastic.
Also it’s surprisingly quiet. I heard a beep as it came to lift at 4:00am this morning, but once it was going I couldn’t hear it through a closed door.
If this lasts a year I’ll be very happy, and probably won’t be surprised if it lasts several (it’s surprisingly well made). Nice work.
We’ve had “noodles” for a week now and can’t believe we didn’t buy one earlier. I love my tech but had always dismissed robot hoovers in the past, how wrong I was.
We live in a 3 story, 3 bed terraced house and seem to be constantly brushing and hooving due to our two kids (5 and 10 months). Noodles has changed that.
He gets carried downstairs to my office in the morning, does a quick hour (doesn’t need anymore) and then gets charged. At lunchtime he does about 1 hour and 10 mins upstairs on carpet before running out of batteries. And then in the evening we get 1 hour and 40 mins from the 4 doors downstairs where only one is carpeted.
I can’t tell you how nice it is to be doing baths and books with the kids and come down to an immaculately clean floor.
Took me a while to relax about the bump navigational which is random and does see him leaving a room before he’s finished and then bouching back in again later. I’m guessing this means some areas might get missed but I figure that any area missed today will be picked up tomorrow. He needs emptying after every run and you need to aware that a full charge needs 4-5 hours. We can still get 3 cleans a day though.
We get best results when you lift stuff off the floor and make sure cables are lying out. Bit if he does get stuck he sends a message and makes a beep. You quickly realise what will and won’t cause a problem.
App is great on Android and Google home integration works well.
Overall thoroughly recommended
First autonomous vacuum cleaner, wasn’t sure how good it would be.
Had massive problems getting it to connect to the wifi; got in touch with their tech support which was a young girl at home in China, speaking broken English. Our attempts failed, and as such it only worked with the remote control for a few weeks. Then there was an update to the app, and it started working. (I had tried apple and android devices)
Now it integrates with Alexa and the phone apps.
So what’s it like as a hoover?
Pros: –
Suction is better than expected for such a small device
Great features, such as scheduling times for vacuuming when you’re not there.
Self charging works well when it decides it needs it.
Fits under cupboards, beds, tables etc. so you don’t need to move them.
Works well on different surfaces, and is surprisingly agile going up and down small steps, like onto rugs, or where there are height differences between rooms.
Looks cool when guests come round and you say “Alexe, start Robovac”!
Cons: –
Pretty small collection box, means you have to empty it pretty much every day
It misses areas sometimes which can be annoying
You have to be aware that it will take no prisoners when it comes to Lego or other small toys, and if you have any cables in it’s reach it will gobble them up and get stuck! Sounds obvious, but you find yourself having to do a visual check before you use it. Would be no problem for people without kids!
Overall it’s a great gadget, and does save time in busy households. Not a replacement for a decent vacuum cleaner though.
I’ve been mulling over buying a robovac for a while and finally took the plunge. Wish I had done it sooner. Eufy or as the kids have named it Goofy was really simple to set up and has done a fantastic job. App works well and linked to Alexa too. I resisted the urge to vac despite the floor having bits of crisp, dirt etc for the 2 days whilst this was en route. Once charged I let it go about on an auto clean
It was a bit random in where it went but after about 40 minutes the whole of downstairs looked great. The dust collector was packed (embarrassed emoji). Today have done the upstairs rooms and shocked but pleased at how much dust it picked up. Now set to clean downstairs every evening. Only need to vac the landing and stairs myself. Really pleased and highly recommended.
Don’t know how we lived without this! We love this vacuum – programmed to turn on overnight and in the morning we wake up to super clean floors (wood, tiles and a couple of rugs) and he’s gone back to his dock. He’s slim enough to fit under our sofa and furniture and gets into all the nooks and cranny’s – What surprises me most is how much he manages to pick up, even after we’ve vacuumed on a day with our normal vaccuum, the next morning the box is full of dust!
We’re not very technical but found programming and the Eufy Home app so so easy and simple. Easy send back to home, the manual controls/guide are also easy and scheduling is a doddle. Very intuitive interface – no frills or faffing.
At night we can hear him but to be honest for a vacuum he is not loud. probably the loudness of the microwave? Occasionally he has gotten stuck and sends my husband an ‘sos’ message to say he’s stuck and needs putting back on his dock. Everytime this has happened it is because of a small toy that we missed or the kids had thrown under the sofa so be warned if you have little kids of ensuring their toys and small bits (hair bobbles, lego, mini peppa pigs) are all off the floor before you put him on.
We leave him on tiles and wooden floor that also has a few rugs and he seemlessly manouvres all of the surfaces without tipping or getting stuck on the rug edges (they are quite shaggy piled too and he still managed to go over these with ease). Our brushes are a bit bent after a few months of use so probably need to replace these soon – not sure how we go about getting replacement parts though.
I wish this model had a mopping function also that would make it brilliant!! Would definitely recommend (already have and they are also so happy with the purchase too). For the price we paid we are thoroughly happy with this.
Well now… Consider me one happy chappy.
I have a very dusty flat and because I live on my own, I’m unable to hoover as often as I’d like. This leads to the floors getting dusty and having a knock on effect to the standards around the rest of the flat.
Since getting this robo-vac though, I’m consciously making sure that the floors are free of obstacles so the vac can get around without snagging on cables. It’s scheduled on a daily basis and has 3 fan powers, meaning it can really increase suction in the thin carpet but save battery throughout the rest of the flat. It gets in most corners and does a fantastic job at keeping my flat at a decent standard thanks to it’s different sensors and modes. It does however get quite dusty itself. It’s really helped my mental health.
Well worth it!
Box Content: RoboVac, Docking Station, Plug, Remote, 2 x AAA batteries, 2 x filters, 4 x front brushes, 1 x Roller, 1 x Roller cage, 1 x Roller Cleaning Tool
I cannot compare this robot vacuum against any other as this is the first and only one we have had. Our home set up is hard-floor upstairs and down with a few rugs. We have two medium sized dogs that persistently mult and usually within a day of vacuuming the house it is like the wild west again with tumble weed blowing everywhere.
Since we have had this RoboVac, we have had it scheduled to run every day at 15:00 which it will do for 100 mins until the battery runs low and then it heads back home. When we return from home the floor is clean of dirt and dog hair and it has saved us doing the regular vacuuming. On hard-floors it works very well and even gets under the sofa and other areas we wouldn’t normally get to on a quick vacuum. We do have to go around the house every morning to move items to a safe place like put the dining chairs on the table, pick up the dog’s toys, etc. but this isn’t too arduous.
For the rugs in the house, the RoboVac does pick up a fair amount of dirt as it uses the BoostIQ function which automatically detects the surface and increases the suction to max. Unfortunately it doesn’t get all the dog hair as the long pile holds on too well. For this we use our Dyson V10 once a week to run over the rugs to get all the heavy, stuck in dog hair but this is much less than the every two days before. If you have dogs and carpet everywhere then I don’t think this is good enough as you won’t reduce the amount of supplementary vacuuming you will need.
The app and Alexa interface works well and as expected. The collection bin is small but big enough for 2-3 days but should be emptied daily for optimal cleaning. We empty it using the Dyson V10 which takes 30 secs. The filter needs washing and drying once a week if using daily as we do but there is a spare supplied to allow the filter time to dry.
The RoboVac’s navigation system is of the dump variety where is doesn’t learn where it is going or where it has been and simply drives around bumping into things turning, then heads off in another direction. It can go into edge follow mode which works well. Overall this navigation system works well across our 54m^2 downstairs and it tends to get everything each time. Maybe the smarter navigation system of the Roomba’s or Dyson’s is more efficient but at their price of 800 we’d rather buy 4 RobotVac’s.
The only issue we have is the roller and front wheel gathers hair far too easily and needs clearing once a week at the same time as the filter and is a bit of a faff to clean but a cleaning tool is provided with the vacuum. There are other RoboVac’s out there that have better roller designs that either self-clean or don’t clog up. The Shark IQ Robot R101AE does this and also empties itself every day which is the pinnacle of Robot Vac’s IMO but…this model isn’t available in UK yet without paying loads of postage and ridiculous US import taxes.
Okay so, I have been OBSESSED with buying one of these vacuums for about 2 years but it’s so confusing as there’s so many out there.
I actually ended up just buying a Shark Cordless when I first wanted one as the technology wasn’t as great for the lower budget models back then.
I am actually a professional cleaner and own my own company, so I hoover all day every day.
I also have 5 cats and I have to vacuum at least twice a day or I have another cats worth of hair on the floor by the end of the day.
Sometimes (okay, a lot of the time) after cleaning 3 other houses, I just don’t have the energy to do another one and use all my remaining energy pouring wine into my glass and lifting it to my face.
So finally, I bought one. This one. I’m just going to say right now, buy this. Buy it right now. I know you’ve been pondering it. Yes, it’s worth it.
-The app is great. I was able to put Samantha (named after the SATC character, will leave it to your imagination why I called it that) on when I was on my way home from work and sure enough she was rolling around when I opened the door.
– Even though it doesn’t do room mapping like the ones that are 500 it doesn’t really matter, it’s super intelligent and will like roll around the edges when it gets to a wall or piece of furniture so that area is covered.
– The actual model is so well made, and the bump guards are really excellent.
– It DOES pick up cat hair and litter, incredibly well.
– The fact it can get under things I can’t with ease is so exciting honestly.
– The remote works super well.
There’s nothing I don’t like about this. I am absolutely thrilled with it and it was worth every single penny.
Sure I am going to have to Hoover the edges where it can’t get to but that doesn’t bother me, I’ll just do it when I do the stairs. This is going to save me so much time and energy. I can’t bare my house being less than perfect (and have made a sucessful business out of my high standards) and this is beyond my expectations.
Look at how clean my floor is when I got home! My cats are mostly white and I have dark floors and just look at how spotless it is!
Amazing.
This is the best purchase I’ve ever made. I’ve had mine for 2.5 months now and it’s so efficient. Yes you do need to clear the space sensibly. The video is in our kitchen extension but I use eufy in the bedrooms too and just clear the cables, cats water bowl from the dining room etc and make sure he can’t get stuck. But he’s really very clever and learns the way around stuff. Brilliant edge and boost settings. I wouldn’t be with this little hoover. You need to make sure you empty him regularly and his roller brush doesn’t cope with lots of longer hair without a regular clean but it’s still 1000 percent easier than traditional hoovering! I keep my traditional Miele in cupboard for extra big spills or the stairs. Also my eufy does cope with the landing despite having an old red carpet he still senses the drop and turns and heads back to the bedroom!! Amazing. My children are actually jealous of how much praise I give him!! (Now called Herbert)
Was worried about spending ~200 on something that might become a white elephant.
But I was pleasantly surprised.
Extremely effective. Can’t believe how much dust ‘Goofy’ manages to suck up. And so convenient – make sure any loose cables are up out of the way first. And that there aren’t any corners he can get stuck. Then let him loose and watch the magic happen. Or go to bed and wake up to a beautifully clean house. (He’s quiet enough to let him work downstairs while you sleep) when he’s done, he’ll head back to his charging station for a well deserved rest too.
Can be controlled via remote or via an easy to use app.
Oh… and make sure the cat hasn’t vomited on the floor. (Can’t fault ‘Goofy’ for the devastation that greeted us the morning after).
PS. Wife dropped a phone on him by mistake and shattered his glass top. He still worked but Eufy arranged a replacement unit for us FOC. Customer service above and beyond expectation. Fantastic aftercare.
I only got it today but I’m impressed already! I have two Golden Retrievers and despite hoovering daily theres a constant stream of fur tumbleweed & bits of dirt across the floor! And having to get the chunky hoover out & plug in for a couple bits of fluff is a pain! I saw this on Deal Of The Day and had been wanting one for a while, so I just went for it! Set up and syncing with Alexa was super easy. I’v put the charger under the sofa so it stays hidden and it seems to find it’s way home quite easily. Ask Alexa to start the hoover and it does, or use the app, I’v not used the remote yet. Dog not too impressed as you can see from the video!!
EDIT: Three days in, still love it! Quite a bit of dog hair gets stuck but so simple to get off cos you can remove the roller which helps, plus you get a cool tool with a concealed blade to cut the hairs loose!
EDIT: 2 weeks in still loving it! I set it to clean when I’m taking the dogs out and it’s fluff free by the time we’re back! You can set it to clean, or do a quick 30min clean, or an edge clean.
Wow. Been eyeing one up for ages but with them being best on hard floor and our tatty old carpet needing replacing it was expense I couldn’t justify. Finally got my lovely new wood floor I’ve been lusting after for years and hated hearing the noise of our old upright dragging on my lovely new floor so started my research into auto vacs in earnest.
I obviously looked at ‘the’ brand but cost was way too high and stumbled across Eufy. It seemed good so looked deeper (after all it seemed too good a deal, something must be off right?!) and discovered Eufy is Anker. I am a big Anker fan and had excellent experience with the team when I had an issue with a solar panel so that was decision made – espesh as it was on offer.
Well, he arrived on Friday evening and he is AWESOME! We are still in the process of a big household refurb so a lot of dust and bits to deal with and he handles it all beautifully. Yesterday I sanded down a lot of woodwork, including the stairs, which resulted in pulled off dust. Sent “Little Lynnie” as we named ours to toddle off while we took some earned rest and 30 minutes later the floor was spotless.
Getting him ‘dressed’ and ready for his first outing was really quick, set up with Google assistant was super simple and the remote couldn’t be easier to use. He’s really quiet compared to other vacs. Can still watch TV with the volume up a bit.
No issues yet with getting stuck or chewing cables. He is fun to watch bumbling about, bumping of things like he’s just come back after one too many… But he copes with transitions between rooms, hard floor and rugs /mats with ease and gives them all a good clean. The mat behind the front door looks the best it has in ages. The cats are a little wary. They glare at him from a safe distance before following him about. Typical cats they are more annoyed at the newcomer than scared.
If you are considering getting a robovac don’t think, just do. Worth every penny and just wish I’d done sooner!
Ok so I was really sceptical about these machines.
I am astounded at how good this thing is on hard floors.
It was bought on black Friday as a Christmas present for my father who isn’t great at hoovering or tidying up. The entire ground floor is hard wood and always seemed to have a layer of dust or crumbs over it.
After charging on Christmas day Eufy was set free on the kitchen floor. All the settings were tried. My son loved that there was a remote control as he could take command of what was to be cleaned. (A great bonus feature that gets 5yr olds to hoover the house).
It has done a brilliant job since and you can set a schedule for the cleaning.
Be careful to keep cables off the floor and other things that would get caught in the brushes.
It’s not the most expensive on the black Friday deal also it doesn’t have a brain to creat a floor plan of the house. It has a random pattern that seems to work quite well.
I will certainly recommend this to people especially with hard floors. We haven’t tried it on carpet.
I’m a gadget freak, a clean freak and an Amazon freak – can’t believe I’ve never owned one of these. Moves easily from hard floor to deep pile rugs with ease. Does seem to clean very very randomly though which can be so frustrating. Also wish you could buy the ‘zone tape’ (like with other models) to prevent it from going places I don’t want it to go. Also wish I could set room boundaries so I could do one room at a time without closing doors. Don’t have stairs so can’t comment on whether it would detect them. Alexa integration works perfectly. All in all a great buy (I got it at 100 off), but room for improvement in next generation.
This is our first robotic cleaner.
Our “Dusty” (sorry, but if you buy one you will give it a name) is pretty amazing. I have waited a while before reviewing so any ideosyncrasies would come to light. The cleaner does a really good job -we have now set him on a schedule so that he he is cleaning every day with the result that the ground floor of our home is noticeably much cleaner than before. We have been through countless numbers of big named mains powered cleaners which have died over time – they were all efficient and picked up well but they did take up valuable time out of the and they were incredibly noisy. We had recently purchased a top named cordless cleaner which again was good.and picked up well but even that was really noisy.and again took up time. Conversely, the Robovac is amazing, it is quiet – the advertising indicates about the level of a microwave and they are absolutely correct – picks up easily as well as the other cordless vac if not better, and better still we don’t need to push it around the house.
He works really well with Alexa integration – I tell him to clean and he just does it.
There are few negative points none of which were deal-breakers for us :
1. The waste box is really quite small – it is smaller than the Air Ram’s – I empty and clean it after each use, changing the filter each time (it is reusable and washable) – this is very easy and quick so not that much of an issue.
2. He has tried to eat a few cables that I had forgotten to lift off the floor – all this has done is shut him down until I could rescue him and off he went agaain.
3. Every now and then he gets stuck under furniture and has to be rescued but this is only occasionly.
4. He is fitted with drop sensors and I have used him upstairs but, probably quite irrationally, I have been afraid that he’s going to hurl himself down the stairs so haven’t left him unsupervised – I must say though, that he does approach the top stairand has turned round and gone back to resume his cleaning.
5. I still have to go around very close to the edges occasionally with a manual vac as, although the edge brushes work for solid bits they obviously aren’t able to clean down into the carpet.
6. The vac cleans In a random pattern and does seem to clean everywhere but probably takes more time than one that maps its environment, although having two dogs, two cats and a parrot I’m quite pleased that it he does go over the same places more than once.I
In summary our Dusty, although there are a few negative points they are only tiny and in fact almost not worth mentioning compared with the amount of positives.
The suction is good and it really does a nice job of keeping multiple rooms on multiple floor levels clean.
The app is VERY useful as it tells you what is wrong with the machine when it has an issue – it’ll tell you which brush is tangled or if it is out of power etc. It also means you can control the device when you are not at home and tells you the status of the device. We have it preset to clean the kitchen and utility room every night at 3 am, where the charging station is located. We then do the lounge/dining room and entrance passage manually as it’s a different level, same for upstairs. It also does a really nice job on carpets. By manually, what I mean is you simply take the charged robovac and place it in the area you need cleaning and hit the power button (3 options for that – on the robovac itself, the remote control device or the app). When it runs out of juice, the app notifies you and you manually put it back to charge. Obviously, if you live in a single-level layout, this is all academic, as the robovac returns to its charging station 9 times out of 10.
It picks up a crazy amount of hair, which usually tangles it up after a few days, however, the cleaning tool is really well thought out and designed (you’ll see). You also have to empty it every second day or so as well as the collection tub is not massive.
All in all, for a bit of regular maintenance that takes a couple of minutes, you get a clean house, including under beds, side cabinets and anything on legs (sofas etc.) for less than the price of a Dyson (we bought when it was on offer for 188 GBP). Can’t really argue with that!
I think this is brilliant
I took ages researching different ones wondering what to get and was unsure about getting one without the strips to cordon off things. However I’ve found it’s not really needed. It’s easy to put something in it’s way to stop it.
It doesn’t like very thin (ie mobile phone) cables but seems ok with thick ones. If you are using long plug extension leads with a number of plugs it’s easy to turn them around with cables facing the other way and that will stop the robovac.
I’m using it on carpet and hard floor. The auto boost means that it adjusts and picks up a lot. It doesn’t pick up big bits but has done really well in cleaning a hall carpet which bits (threads etc) stick to. In fact it’s done better than my normal vacuum on that. It has done pretty well on edges but can’t get right in as you would do with a vacuum extension of course. It definitely makes a difference in keeping things clean between big cleans. I’ve found so far that it needs emptying after every go or two.
Long hairs do get entangled in things but it’s easy to get them out using the cutting tool that comes with it. Using it regularly it’s less of a problem as it’s already picked up the hairs you can’t see.
No problem whatsoever in linking with my wifi. I didn’t need to do anything special it picked it up straight away. App works fine and link to Alexa.
I have a particular folding table that it doesn’t like- it has long black legs that go horizontal across the floor. It tries to get over them but when it finds it can’t it backs up. We have a couple of steps from the kitchen to the living room and it recognises them and doesn’t fall off.
It does go in what looks like a random formation which can drive you mad if you watch it, but it does seem to eventually get to everything and you can always get it to do particular areas and the edges specifically.
So I would definitely recommend it. It looks like deals come up regularly. I got it with a 50 voucher discount.
Having the initial expectations set on the conservative side, this device can really impress you. Especially if you have one of those all-in-one, extremely heavy Dyson ball -like vacuums.
This Eufy (nicknamed Dobby, HP fans will get it) has almost entirely replaced the vacuuming around my house. Too bad it cannot take care of the top of the furnishing :))
I have a dreadful dark-ages-old low carpet on my rented apartment in Dublin and this thing keeps taking quantities of dirt that my previous vacuum cleaner simply couldn’t. And I can do it at night, as it won’t wake anybody up 😉
Naturally, being a random navigation cleaner (i.e. not the mapping type) it might not cover it all by itself, and can get stuck sometimes. It’s up to you to remove as many things from the ground as possible so that’s less likely.
Overall, Dobby is one of the best things I have ever purchased.
A great robotic vacuum at an attractive price.
It navigates well in most places, though it does have issues with dark furniture (to be expected since it uses IR sensors), but the bumper on the front is sensitive enough that the robot will stop and turn at a light touch.
It has no issues moving between wood floors and mid-deep rugs, and the drop sensors work properly.
Suction is excellent – I was surprised how much dirt it picked up on a single run.
I’ve used the app for manual control, though this is a little clunky and would benefit from an update that allows you to turn the robot whilst it’s moving.
Alexa voice control is great, and if Alexa has trouble recognising the name of your vacuum like mine does (Eufygenia Dirtfire), then using the default “robovac” works fine.
Omg, I totally love my robovac! We named him Bob. I was unsure about splashing out on one of these as I have heard mixed reviews, but as I have a back injury, using my Henry Hoover had become too much for me. I decided to give one a go, i did a little research and decided to go with the Eufy robovac 15c max. I was totally surprised by just how much cat hair he removes from my carpets, they all look like new again 🙂 Bob appears to take such a random route round my house, but when you walk away for a while and come back he’s always got everything. I dont think I could live without him now, and the cats aren’t bothered about him buzzing about either.
***Update – After 10/11 months of use Bob developed an issue. The gear wheel for one of his side sweepers had become damaged and he was making a really bad cruching/grinding noise. As I had to go into hospital for major surgery, I was not able to contact Eufy support until after his warranty had expired. The Eufy customer care team were amazing, they were very responsive to all my emails and sent me out a replacement machine within days. My new machine “Steve” has been working great and has been a lifesaver for me after surgery as I cannot use a manual vacuum anymore. The Eufy team have been following up with emails over the last few weeks to make sure I received my new robovac and everything was working ok, and also to see how I was doing after my surgery. Absolutely amazing customer service and I could not recommend them enough. I will definitely be buying more products from them in the future
Let me start by saying that even if the title is critical, do I believe my home is clean through eufy, YES.. absolutely. The regular cleaning every night makes a big difference to overall feel everyday. And Eufy is working hard..
Good points
@ great suction, combination with rotating tentacles and rolling pin, it does capture a lot.
@ great on cleaning edges.. very meticulous
@ comes back to charging unit automatically
@ sensors good to stop bumps and fall from stairs
Improvement needed
@ it goes around cleaning in very much random fashion. The area that otherwise would take 2-3min of manul hoover, eufy takes 10-15 because it keep missing the areas.
@ it keeps coming back to same area over and over again… Yup, don’t really know what IQ Boost they are talking about..
@ don’t think it even remembers or make a mind map of where it has been to.. it’s just absolute random.
@App is basic.. the machine is so powerful, however the silly software lags behind. I would be happy to pay for an upgrade where things like floorplan can be uploaded..
Overall, I’m happy with the unit in terms of physical performance. Long way to go for software. I had black Friday discounts and I purchased for around 150 – definitely value for money in that respect.
I have been wanting a robotic vacuum cleaner ever since I found out they exist, however I have always been sceptical about getting one. Largely due to the price tag and also to the actual practicality of them. Fast forward a few years and quite a few of them are now on the market and the price has started to reach more reasonable levels.
So, my little “Scutter” (I named it after the Red Dwarf cleaning robots lol) arrived 2 days ago and I have been nothing but impressed so far.
Set up was easy – plug in the charging base, sit him on it until he’s fully charged and while I was waiting I set up the wifi and Alexa settings (took me all of 5 minutes).
Then came one of the most exciting moments of the year. “Alexa, ask Scutter to start cleaning”. And off he went, gliding across the floor of the living room (laminate), traversing into the hallway with ease (medium pile carpet). Needless to say I watched for far longer than you should probably be excited about something like this.
After about 10 minutes of this I decided to empty the dirt try (not because it told me to but I was just curious). I couldn’t believe how much it had picked up. We clean the house fairly regularly but it’s fair to say we definitely don’t vacuum every day. (Save your judgement, we’re busy). We have 3 cats in the house as well as 2 kids who visit a lot.
I have now scheduled him to do a cycle every single day!!
One thing I am slightly disappointed about is the lack of room mapping. Eventually he’ll clean the whole floor but it would be far more efficient if it knew where it had already been. Having said that the remote function either on the remote control itself or via the app is super responsive and I’ve now been able to send it under the beds (another gross awakening at how much dust it picked up under there!).
He seems to find his way back to the charging base quite easily and the charge has lasted really well (especially when you consider I’ve been playing with it like a remote control car for hours on end!)
All in all I am so happy I bought this. I will update if anything else arises in the coming weeks but really for this price I don’t think you can say no if you’re in the market for a robotic vacuum cleaner!
This is the third robot hoover I have bought in the last month. I feel like an accidental product tester. This one is a keeper. This 15C Max is a superior problem solver, and did a better job with fewer track repeats. It didn’t get stuck under chairs. It handles my floppy carpet edges much better than the lesser 11S model. And it found it’s home base even though it needs to go under a bookcase to find it. The lesser model, 11S came with a badly designed remote (grey printing on black plastic — impossible to see in low lighting), but the 15C’s remote is readable, and I can use my phone if I want to download the app. (NB: haven’t done that yet. No need because I have not yet lost the remote.)
I have a large open plan kitchen diner with tiled floor and with a six year running around it can be hard to keep on top of hoovering. This is my saving grace I’ve set it to go when I’m at work so not bothered by the noise or under your feet but not really noisy anyway. It seems to do a great job of keeping on top of it for me through the week so I can do a more in-depth hoover at the weekend perfect and very good value for money.
Machine itself is very sturdy looks great doesn’t get stuck unless you have a rouge wire you forget to move. All in all very happy and will be getting a second one that lives upstairs.
I bought this for our tiled and wooden downstairs floor – with a dog, 2 cats and 2 kids, it gets in a real mess very quickly.
Cons:
1. The dust collector is pretty small and needs emptying after every cleaning session.
2. To get it to go home by itself, it needs to be reasonably close to the home base. I tried to get it to go home from another room and it was taking ages and may not have done it before the battery went dead. It doesn’t really know where it’s home base is – I think it just keeps moving in the same pattern as when it is cleaning, until it detects some IR signal, or something.
3. It can get stuck on objects, like the thin piece of wood that lies flat between the legs of a chair. The wood is too low to hit the bumpers but high enough to lift the driving wheels off the floor, so the vac cannot move.
4. The rollers get easily choked with hair – I’ve been having to clean the roller every 3rd or 4th cleaning session.
5. It rarely finishes a cleaning session without either getting stuck or stopping because the roller is jammed with hair. However, it takes a while for that to happen and it’s usually cleaned all it needs to by then. It would also work better if I managed to clear more obstacles off the floor for it.
Pros:
1. It does work – the dust collector gets filled so it is picking stuff up and our floor is much cleaner (hence my 4 star score and the fact I forgive it all the cons above). It also cleans under our kitchen sofa, which I never used to do.
2. The app is very good and allows you to schedule a cleaning session (although only one a day at best). I have it to clean at 4pm every day.
3. The remote control works well and you can just drive the vac around if you want it to work quicker.
4. It’s cleaning pattern is fairly inefficient but it does eventually cover the whole area.
5. It is surprisingly good at very thick carpet – we have a very thick rug in the lounge which it does happily trundle over (although it sometimes gets stuck when halfway up).
Noise: average – you can easily talk over it but it’s far from silent.
In summary: does the job I bought it for – our floor is generally much cleaner. We have a cleaner once a fortnight who uses our full-size vacuum but I haven’t had to use that between her visits, as I used to. We have also occasionally used it upstairs on normal carpet and it works reasonably well there as well.
I am new to the world of robot vacuuming and started by purchasing a Trifo M6+ for a 249.99 price tag! I thought if I’m paying this kind of money it must be good right? No. I was wrong. But being new and naive to this world I accepted its huge flaws but then Black Friday hit and that made me think otherwise!!!
I know this is a review for Eufy but I’ll come to that…avoid Trifo models like the plague. It camcazzied down my stairs no sweat despite it saying it had Cliff Drop detectors! It also got stuck ‘main brush stuck’ error message every time so you couldn’t ever go out and trust that it would clean your home cos you’d come home and find it stranded for no reason! It was a liability given the high price tag so I sent it back and got this one for a hell of a lot cheaper and even more suction and it has Alexa connectability!
It has completely restored my faith in robot vacuum cleaners! It’s amazing! From the very start i.e. downloading the app which is so user friendly and easy to setup to setting him off for the first time.
For a start he’s so quiet (even on Max mode) yes he hoovers at angels but I think we have to be realistic…it’s a robot hoover. It doesn’t have human eyes so I think when you first get into robot vacuuming you have to be realistic! It doesn’t bother me at all what angel it hoovers at just as long as it hoovers!!! 🙂
Anyway, cliff detectors? Yes it has em! Like properly has em! Even in the dark this little guy did not attempt suicide down my stairs!
Suction is amazing also! Hoovers up loads! It ensures it cleans everywhere (despite going at angels) and Alexa bosses him about no problem!
I love him! Please get one of these in your life! It’s amazing coming home to a clean hoovered house with him back on his dock charging away!
That was the other thing with Trifo…did not know where it’s dock was at all! Would spend hours trying to find it!
Anyway, I’m one happy lady and absolutely love my Eufy! Don’t really see the difference between a Roomba and this one to be honest! And a hell of a lot cheaper too!
Works on carpet and hard surfaces!
Happy happy happy!!!
I’m really happy with this robovac, i only have a small flat but this just keeps it spotless of day to day dust, dirt and my cats fur, I used my big vacuum right before I switched it on and it had a full bin after the cycle, it somehow manages to find and pick up dirt and fur from god only knows where, now it’s been running daily for a couple of weeks I only have to empty the bin every few days (its run at least once every day), I’d definitely recommend this for anyone who wants the ease of a surprisingly powerful robot vacuum that can keep the floors (carpet and hardfloors) nice and tidy on a day to day basis, it’s always good to use a upright vacuum now and then to get the really deep stuff but I’ve found this really reduces the frequency of this, never have to worry about running the vacuum around before guests come as the floors always look great with this in my home.
It’s great. App is good, instructions and remote are straightforward and easy to understand.
I clean a room and then shut this in to do it’s thing while I clean the next room, and work my way round the house like that.
Also means it’s no effort to have a quick vacuum more often as I can do it while sitting on the sofa!
We have 90% wood floors and it works really well. On carpet I think it might perform a little less well – it’s not quite as good on our rugs.
The cat is far less frightened of it than she is the normal vacuum.
It’s quiet enough that you can just about watch the TV with it running in the same room.
It fits under the sofa and the beds so much less need to move furniture to clean underneath.
Really quick and easy to empty (unlike my current Dyson which is a total pain).
I will invest in some boundary strips as they’ll be useful if I just want to do a particular section (downstairs is very open plan).
All in all I’m really pleased. We’ll get a decent handheld to do the stairs and corners, and sell the big Dyson we had as we won’t need it anymore.
Highly recommend.
This is a handy device that now saves me from the annoying task of hoovering. The device was really easy to set up and get started. As someone who hoovers a couple of times a week, I was amazed at how much this machine picked up! I’ve tried on hardwood, tile and medium pile carpet with great results. Using the app, I’ve scheduled the device to clean whilst out and it’s great to come back to a clean house! Additionally, press the home button and the device returns (albeit not so quickly) to it’s charging hub.
Cons: This isn’t the smartest of devices and doesn’t get to all areas you would normally get to whilst hovering – sometimes it’s routes do appear quite illogical. The device has gotten stuck on a number of occassions requiring manual intervention.
I have wanted a robovac for ages after seeing them online, but I was worried that they wouldn’t be worth the additional spend over a traditional hoover. Hoovering is a chore that no one in our family really enjoys, so I bought this little fella when he was on offer as a way of keeping the peace.
We’ve called him Edgar, and he’s worth every penny! I wish we had bought him sooner!
He comes with a remove control, but we mainly use the app and Alexa voice control to ask him to clean. He does a surprisingly good job, and he’s much quieter than out Hetty hoover so the cats don’t leave the house when he comes on.
I haven’t had any issues with him getting stuck or anything like that, and he’s able to navigate between our laminate and tiled floors downstairs, and laminate, carpet and tiled floors upstairs.
He doesn’t need to be watched near stairs as he has a sensor to stop him falling. When he’s finished he takes himself back to his charging spot to charge.
He doesn’t completely eliminate the need for hoovering as we will still have to do the stairs, etc. But already this has made a huge difference to our lives. If you’re thinking about getting one I totally recommend it.
This vacuum is fantastic! Extremely easy to set up, just push on the brushes and connect to WiFi. You give it a name in the app and you can set up times for her (ours is called Hetty) to vacuum. You get notifications if she is stuck, needs charging or needs cleaning. We set her to vacuum at 6am when we go to work and we come back to lovely clean floors. The remote has various functions like a 30 minute clean, edges and spot clean and is a useful accessory. Pull out the draw at the back, open and empty to clean and no fiddly bits to remove. Don’t be put off by the random way she cleans as she won’t complete one floor and go to the next but she will come back. When we first had her, I was convinced she was missing parts of the floors because she seemed so random so I planted things to check and she found and vacuumed every one. It seems weird to watch her but I can guarantee that she won’t miss anything. She loves table legs and cleans around and around them to make sure she doesn’t miss anything. She vacuums my small rug beautifully and the pile is lovely when she’s done it. When she finishes she goes back to the charger, often taking the scenic route but she gets there. Customer Service is fantastic and they can’t do enough to help, which is rare these days after you have paid for a product. I love her and wish I’d bought her sooner.
This is my second robotic vacuum, my first in comparison to this was basic you turned it on physically and off it went. The Eufy is much smarter, quieter, and it has manual controls via a remote and an app.
It can be scheduled, and will return to charging base when it’s done. No messing around with plugging in power cables.
It’s performance as a cleaner is great, my carpet has never been cleaner. The collector is nice and big and can do my small room for several days before it needs emptying, though I would recommend empty frequently.
You need to pick up things that are likely to get caught in the roller, and make sure cables are protected. It will grab them and get stuck.
In short it’s great, it’s convenient and it’s effective.
Very very good.
Brilliant suction power, quiet and very easy to set up.
Scheduling is super handy.
This is a great Hoover, especially for pet owners. I have this set to operate every evening; regular use to avoid any issues with pet hair build up, but in saying that I don’t think it would ever have any problems with amounts. I have two light shedding dogs, small / medium dogs. They do not shed ALOT but I would normally Hoover every other day. This little hoover just picks them ALL up every night now – love that.
Great size of bin, very easy emptied and cleaned re filters etc.
Doesn’t rush to it’s charging station and can get lost when trying to send it home; but it does get there eventually.
I have a high pile rug in the living room, it cannot get up on top of it sometimes, it hasn’t any problems hoovering the high pile. But as I say, just struggles to get on top of it past the edges mostly.
UPDATED 30/11/2020
We now have 2 15c max and most of our family have at least one. After just over a year one of the wheels stopped turning. We diagnosed the problem was the motor and contacted customer support. Very quick and helpful response which resulted in them sending us a new wheel assembly with instructions for free. Fitted within a few minutes.
I have been wanting one for years but holding off. This happened to be on a deal on my birthday so went for it and I am so glad I did.
Easy to set up, I have paired it with Alexa and set it on a timer. I cleans every evening at 6pm, I may change this to earlier once I am happy it won’t get stuck while I am not at home.
It got tangled in my husbands shoe laces, beeped and sent a notification to my phone, it’s was easy to derange and no damage was done.
It randomly cleans but seems to cover all of the area.
I hope that over time the daily vacuuming will reduce the dust around the house which will help with my husbands dust sensitivity and will reduce my need to dust.
Now I am a self-confessed gadget lover but this was purchased not only because I like gadgets but it can save me and my family a lot of effort regularly cleaning. Upon receiving the item I was impressed with the packaging, almost Apple-like in the attention to detail and simplicity to get started.
I removed a couple of transport foam bumpers, stickers and added 2 brushes which simply clicked into place. Then set up the charging station which comes with cable ties and installed the app from the app store. I was blown away with the Vacuum. Across different surfaces, it handled the cross over without issues. I have a tiled floor, laminate flooring with a rug and also a carpeted room downstairs. This unit covers all-terrain no problem. The amount of dirt the unit picks up is not only surprising but impressive. My kitchen has large shiny white floor tiles which show every spec of dirt, previously I was having to manually clean about 2-3 times a day. I now set this unit off to do the work for me, it does a better job than I did. When in operation you can still have a conversation or watch the TV comfortably.
The ability to set schedules or start a clean with my voice via Google Home is priceless. No more manual daily vacuuming.
I cannot recommend this product enough if you have to vacuum daily.
Very impressed by this product. I have owned a cheaper robot vacuum a few years ago and the technology has definitely moved on. It is very quiet, and seems to pick up about the same amount of dirt as our cordless vacuum by a very well known brand.
It copes with going from short-pile carpet to thick-pile rugs in our living room OK. The only things it has got stuck on are the bases of our bar stools in the kitchen – it doesn’t seem to be able to work out that if it reversed a bit and then turned, it would avoid them – but we can get over that by moving the stools.
I haven’t used the remote control at all as I don’t see the point – it’s easier to control it from the app on the phone, which works really well. The schedule feature is great too – I place the vacuum and its docking station in the room I want it to vacuum, and either schedule it to clean overnight, or start it off when I go to work at leave it (remembering to close the door to the room of course).
It is also surprisingly good at getting dirt from the edges/corners – the brushes that stick out certainly seem to work well.
The way I use this, is to use it in a room per day, and our house is noticeably cleaner for doing so. About once every month or so I do use the normal vacuum and go round the edges, skirting boards etc, but this robot vacuum is excellent at doing the general keeping the house clean.
All things considered – I am impressed, and it saves me a lot of time.
Robovac cleans amazingly well, climbs large changes in floor levels and gradually cleans all the floor surfaces we have. With a special affinity to our front and rear door mats. We hadn’t imagined it would take the place of a manual vacuum cleaner but it nearly does, with just corners and certain carpeted areas to clean manually. The latter mainly to check for carpet moths.
It is easy to set the robot up: pull off some stickers, clip on the brushes, put the batteries in the remote control and that’s about it. Wifi (2.4Ghz only) and Alexa support involves activating the free Alexa skill and downloading the Eufy Home app. A few clicks and the Robovac can be controlled by voice, phone/tablet or the supplied remote control. The remote is the easiest way to steer where the Robovac goes, useful if you want it to concentrate in another area or room. You can easily rename your Robovac, which is essential if you have more than one so that you can ask Alexa to start ‘Max’ ( as in 15C Max) cleaning or return to base.
In the event of a problem such as getting dangled in flexes or trying to mount and getting stuck on an object too high, the Robovac will beep, send a text message to you and then turn off. Today the little critter was quite happily running across the clean duvet left on the floor while making the bed.
Our house is large, 7 rooms downstairs with rooms leading off rooms. In general it takes Max” 15 to 30 minutes per room. It is a good idea to make rooms robot-friendly by keeping flexes tucked away but so saying that, it was happy under our office desks which have a snakes nest full of cables under each.
It seemed at first the robot keeps a log of where it has been and remembers how to get back to base even if in a different room. However this proved to be a bit hit and miss, bouncy-bouncy. Eufy suggested getting a second base to set at the other end of the house but by the I had bought a Eufy L70 Hybrid (amazingly good) so Max now lives upstairs keeping those rooms clean as they are a simple layout with one at a time off the corridor. At first the base unit slid around a little on our wood floor, as the robot squirmed around to get the best connection with its contacts. A small piece of anti-slip mat under the base solved that. Recharging is quick, about and three or four hours for a completely empty battery.
The back-up from Eufy is second to none with fast responses to queries and a variety of ways to contact them. They have offices in the US, UK and Germany, with repair services arriving in the near future.’
I was skeptical about robot vacuum cleaners and whether they would be as good as a normal vacuum but I was pleasantly surprised by this vac. It does decent job of picking up dust and dirt and can reach places under furniture which are hard to reach.
Setup was straightforward and simple via the app. Alexa integration works well though commands are limited, there are only 3 commands, “start cleaning”, “stop cleaning” and “return to base.”
The robot vac dies struggle sometimes to return to the base, pushing it around the room but eventually makes it.
One thing that is missing with this vac is mapping function which would make the cleaning more efficient. The vac doesn’t know where it has been so it ends up travelling until it reaches an obstacle then changing direction. It means that it ends up covering the same area several times. Obstacle and collision avoidance is good though.
The app enables you to schedule a time to clean each day of the week which is intuitive and easy to use.
Overall I am pleased with the purchase.
I’ve been wanting a robot vacuum cleaner for a while and this is almost perfect. The suction power is great and works well on what I would classify as a thick carpet (10mm thick) and it can easily climb from the lino to the carpet (13mm climb). Edge cleaning is effective, and the spot clean function is fun to watch. The only real issue is the fact that it doesn’t work with boundary strips and seems to love climbing on top of my cats’ food bowls and eating their biscuits!
I have a small baby and a lot of bread crumbs all over, snacks all day, this is an amazing purchase, while I was exercising he did cleaning upstairs and downstairs, perfectly shiny, all hair, small dust all over, can not be any better, a bit of a trouble connecting to WiFi, but remote doing the same job, so it’s a definite yes from me
Love this little hoover. Wasn’t sure how well it would pick up dog hairs but I’m absolutely amazed at how well it performs. The photos show before and after images of my landing carpet where my dogs like to carpet surf. It did an outstanding job AND successfully avoided falling down the stairs.
It has two suction levels so therefore uses less battery power on non carpeted floors.
If your carpet has thick pile it may struggle. This gets itself in a knot on midrange pile BUT, I can tell it to continue with the app and off it goes again.
I bought the 15c as, with young children in the house, the hard floor constantly has bits on it. I’d thought about a robot vacuum, and when my work bonus came in, I bit the bullet. The pros. It seems a beautifully engineered bit of kit. I’ve used Anker products before, and it’s a brand I have come to trust for quality, so I was pleased to find Eufy are part of the same company. Suction power. Awesome. I can vacuum before ‘Frank’ (you have to give it a cool name, right?!) goes around, and he still manages to have an almost full dust bucket. Noise. This thing is so much quieter than a ‘normal’ vacuum. He goes around our downstairs every morning at around 4am, and you only hear him if he gets stuck and lets off a little beep noise. Otherwise, it’s quiet. Floor types. A big decision when looking at this type of vacuum is the carpet pile it’s designed for. We have thick pile carpet (my initial purchase was to do the hard floor), bit Frank goes from hard floor to thick pile to even thicker pile rug without complaint. Battery life – he goes for around 1 hour 40 mins, more than enough time. Low profile – he is low, and lives discreetly under a sideboard cabinet we have. Brilliant. Pets. I have a small kitten, who follows Frank around. Frank has a bumper and infrared sensors, and I’m comfortable that I’m not going to find Frank has eaten my cat over night. Cons. Sometimes he gets stuck, and when I use the remote control to back him up, he goes on his way – I suppose this is a safety feature – but perhaps he could try reversing a few times in different directions if he is stuck. Prep work. To avoid him getting stuck, you get in to a bit of a routine of clearing the floor and blocking off problem areas – I use a cushion off the settee to block him going under the TV unit with all those wires (cable ties come with the machine to help with tidying up cables though, something I’ve not done myself). I’d recommend using him during the day or when you can watch him, to help identify any areas in your home where he may get stuck.
I’d not be without him now, and our carpet downstairs has changed colour (it was regularly vacuumed before, promise).
If you have the cash, buy one. I love him, and even my wife who thought he was bit of an impulse buy loves him too!
I just received and tried this robovac and so far I am pleased. Didn’t take that long to fully charge and is very easy to connect to WiFi and use with the app. It does climb up things if they are about 1-2cm height. It doesn’t make much noise.. Less than a microwave even. Sometimes needs a bit redirection to catch all the spots but the app lets us do that manually. I will need more use to give a more complete feedback but it seems like a good purchase.
My first foray into the RoboVac world and after just a few days I’m wondering how we lived without it. “Mr Bump” has been fantastic at cleaning our wooden and tiled floors – set him loose when going to bed and by morning the floor is spotless and he’s back on his docking station fully charged!
It’s not too loud – as per other reviews of other Eufy products, it’s about as loud as a microwave and is something you’d get quite used to. It does have a tendency to bump into smaller objects like chair legs (hence the name “Mr Bump!) but manages to avoid walls nicely. It’s quite cool to see it whirl around the chair leg and head off again.
I’ve only really used the Auto mode regularly, but have used Spot Cleaning and Edge Mode a few times and they do exactly what you expect them to. Edge Mode can cause the Robovac to head off in a direction you weren’t expecting him to, but the remote control is ideal for steering him back to where you wanted him to go.
The app is simple but does just what is needed – the one night where Mr Bump decided to push its docking station out of the way to clean underneath it I woke to a notification that he was lost and needed putting back on the charger. Easily done!
I can see needing to replace the brushes every 6 months or so, ours are getting a bit bent already (but no change in the cleaning efficiency) and there is a kit of replacement parts available.
All in all, very happy with the Robovac and have already recommended it to two friends!
