Really fun game, especially for the fans of the franchise. Very well polished, hardly any bugs and very challenging. The only issue I’ve had was the DLC code for extra skins inside the sealed game didn’t work, but contacting Saber support sorted the issue and provided a new code.
Huge fan of Evil Dead so was nervous about this, however it’s the closest thing to perfect that it could have been. There’s a single player mode if you don’t want to jump online with others, however for someone who usually does this and rarely picks up a headset to game online I would recommend some online gaming for this one to get the full impact of the game. In fact, this game led me to buying a nicer headset so I could get a couple of mates to play with properly. Lots of blood, lots of laughs, it’s brilliant. Best Horror / comedy game since I don’t know when.
If you were a fan of Left 4 Dead, World War Z, Aliens Fireteam Elite, et al, then you’ll most likely enjoy this. If you’re a fan of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movies and/or the TV show Ash vs Evil Dead, then add another star.
I’m really enjoying the game at the moment. There’s plenty of fan service in there, crowd-pleasing one liners from Campbell and nods to the show. 10 characters to choose from and 3 sets of Evil dudes – Henrietta from ED2, Evil Ash from Army of Darkness and the alien-looking mofo from the TV show.
The music is good, the graphics very good indeed (I haven’t seen such amazing thunderstorms on a PS5 game before) and the action can be pretty relentless at times. It’s definitely a creepily good time, and even better if you team up with friends on microphones.
Plus, a season pass means there will be more content forthcoming. Can’t wait!!!
If you like Friday the 13th you will like this it’s just a shame no one is using voice chat much maybe that will change when more people eventually buy the game
I’m a massive The Evil Dead (and the sequels) fan so when I heard this was in development and Bruce Campbell was on board I added it to my list and pre-ordered it immediately.
The game itself is a mix of Dead By Daylight and Friday the 13th and plays with the humour and gore you can expect from the series.
It’s a 30 minute affair as you race to find 3 map pieces before a “Hardpoint” standoff to capture the Dagger and Necronomicon which you ultimately use to send those Deadites back to where they came from! All the while you are being pursued by 1 of 3 demons, each with their own abilities and weaknesses.
Graphically the game is amazing and the team behind it have really captured the Evil Dead theme. The SFX are brilliant and the atmosphere can get intense.
Sadly the game does feel a little empty in places and there have been a few launch issues with the title.
Randomly crashing and turning off PS5 systems.
Lobby drop outs.
Matchmaking issues.
DLC codes not working.
DLC saying it’s already been claimed.
But the team say they are actively trying to fix this. When they do I will have no issues dropping a 5th star onto my rating.
I was scared! Didn’t want another dead by daylight or Friday the 13th. This isn’t that though! And im well chuffed! Great mechanics smooth gameplay action and killa takedowns. Yea we want a bit more single player campaign but the 6 side missions are fun and nostalgic. If you love evil dead then just get it you won’t be disappointed. If you want something fun with a bit more to it than dbd then i think you have found i
I bought this and the bonus DLC code that was inside the wrapped package has been already used not sure how or even how to get a new DLC code issued. Apart from the game is excellent for Evil Dead fans just disappointed about the DLC

If you’ve played other asymmetrical horror games like Dead By Daylight you will hit the ground running with this game.
The games looks and plays fantastically. Can’t wait for future DLC to be released.
