An excellent game, beautiful scenes, cool story and blooming good fun!
I was so impressed, I bought the season pass so I could play as the baddies from the previous games. If you enjoy the series, or like a nice not too taxing experience, you’ll love this.
The location of this game is obviously based on Cuba. The protagonist is your typical dictator, he does terrible things. The problem is there is no surprise in what he does. The graphics are excellent the best for a far cry game so far and I’m playing on Xbox One X. The music and sound effects are good Especially through a sound bar.The story is disappointing it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. The missions are all the same, Some are unfair completely. I was supposed to hijack lorry. I eliminated the guards far away from the lorry, it was still destroyed. I want to know how, nobody was left alive. It’s a game to play for a couple of hours then leave a few days before you play again. One thing I will praise is the animal allies, The Crocodile is brilliant. I don’t regret buying it, but if Ubisoft do another game it needs to be different.
The game arrived on time is good value for money as there is a lot of game play in it and option of dlc content if needed and 2 player co op is available.
The only drawback is on installing its quite a long install so fast broadband is preferable but worth the wait.
Far Cry has always been one of my favourite game series with Far Cry 3 being my favourite especially the classic enhanced version.
Far Cry 4 was a good game but just didn’t have the feel or the location and story that made Far Cry 3 my favourite.
Far Cry 5 I just couldn’t play as personally I felt they ruined it with the constant over the top religious theme.
I never thought a far cry game could take the place of fc3 but for me Far Cry 6 just beats it in every single way, it’s an amazing and totally immersive experience and deserves to be a contender for game of the year.
Long live the Far Cry games and I would love to see a fc game based around North Korea.
If you want cutting edge gaming with depth and incisive new ideas, you don’t buy a Far Cry game. I’m puzzled by the reviews that seem to expect otherwise: a tin of baked beans is just that, you don’t expect it to be different and somehow upgraded every time you buy one. By game 6 (plus odds) it’s surely obvious that this is a formula brand.
If however you want to have brainless fun blowing stuff up and getting into wildly unpredictable gun battles that rarely go as planned, this is just the ticket.
I think they’ve actually moved the game on a fair bit, albeit cautiously. It feels heftier somehow, and storywise is a little less loopy. The world is huge and nicely varied, with slightly less insane animal attacks just as you are stealthing an outpost. Enemies are a bit more varied, and special forces are a nice leveller that means sometimes you just have to run away.
Problems: it’s really not next gen, even though it mostly looks lovely. Pop-in is chronic, things occasionally disappear, and persistence of artefacts is all over the place. Climbing has got finicky, and there are hints of Just Cause 4 type magical enemies that appear from thin air. Enemy AI varies from okay to moronic. The new upgrade system is weird and largely pointless beyond a certain point. The Resolver weapons are completely mad and effectively act as cheats – I ignored them, other than to shoot down helicopters before I had a viable rocket launcher.
Which sounds like a lot of issues, but it’s still a blast to play. Combat remains superb, it feels less repetitious overall somehow, and it is a bottomless jar of fun. Leveling of enemies is good, you can still sneak or rampage as you see fit, and I love it. Oh, and tanks – very much yes.
If you liked the Far Cry formula before, you’ll almost certainly love this.
Installed, entered produxt code, updated done everything I supposed to but didn’t get the Amazon Prime Add On (and it’s the reason I actually bought the game here.) Not good.
Graphics on series x are the best, its art in motion. Gameplay is also top notch, the map is huge and i basically cant stop playing it. Looking forward to dlc soon.
When i put the CD in i was prompted that an upgrade download was required. It was a very long 2 hours later before i was able to start the game, but it sure was worth it. Just at the early stages and it already feels like a game of the year.
The story, gameplay, humour, voice acting… everything feels good. I only got into the series with FC 5 and loved that game, New Dawn was not as good but from what i have seen so far… this looks the best one!
It starts off linear where you follow a path, which i am fine with, but what makes these games good or great are the story and the villain. This is excellent part of the game. The game is played in first person but the cut scenes are 3rd person, which i like as you get to see your character more.
The efforts from the 5 studios into this game is insanity, ive played every farcry since farcry 3 this game looks absolutely stunning on series x theres no ray tracing as it was swapped for a smooth 4k 60 frames per second and i got this a copy a day early from release. Highly recommend immersive experIence.
This is what games should be about. A decent story in an open world, tons to do, see and try, quests galore, evil to be vanquished and from a series that gets better and better – in fact one of the greatest series along with Zelda, Doom and any of the acclaimed heavyweights in between. Giancarlo Esposito as ‘El Presidente’ carries the same menace as his ‘Breaking Bad’ character, Gus and is entirely believable as well as sardonically evil and without giving away spoilers, this series gets better with each new offering, tweaking aspects from previous incarnations that only enhance this addition to the Far Cry series. It made my day when I received this and only an hour in, for once, a game that does not disappoint and the work quality put into it has made it worth the tortuous wait. It easily deserves SIX stars, as five is not doing it justice. Right – now back to the game!
Got this as a gift, my partner hasn’t played fall out in years and loved this game when he got it, the effects are really good in it too
